Introduction
Good day to all! Let us delve into the twenty-third chapter of Exodus. At times, we find that after discussing so many individual points, it becomes quite challenging to weave them together coherently! Have you noticed this difficulty? Indeed, one must gradually come to understand that without identifying a central theme, it is exceedingly difficult to expound. To proceed point by point would be futile, exhausting both the speaker and the listeners, ultimately leading to naught. So, what is the central theme? It is titled "Snares Abound on the Road to the Promised Land."
I tell you, snares are everywhere! The road to the Promised Land is littered with corpses! It is a tragic sight! One may inadvertently stumble into a snare! Do not assume that these writings in the Bible are superfluous. If you deem them so, try it and see. We, as brothers and sisters in Christ, must recognize that while God's promises are abundant, the instances of their fulfillment are scarce. Why are God's promises so elusive? All we see are Christians afflicted with cancer, or pastors stricken with cancer, or pastors' sons involved in car accidents. Within the church, unanswered prayers are commonplace! The pastor's wife develops a hundred bone spurs, another pastor's wife develops a hundred and twenty bone spurs.
Thus, the path to the Promised Land is strewn with corpses, and snares are ubiquitous! Where lies the problem? The problem truly hinges on one thing: Will you heed the voice of the Lord your God? If you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, even though our God is full of grace and mercy, His angels are not! God has ordained this arrangement; His angels stand by.
Let me introduce a new concept: guardian angels! Remember, your guardian angel will accompany you until you depart this world. If you act foolishly, he will respond in kind; if you are diligent and obedient, he will diligently protect you! This is recorded in the Book of Exodus. It is not one guardian angel for a multitude, but one guardian angel for each individual. Not only does each person have a guardian angel, but God also dispatches an evil spirit to follow you wherever you go. Take this as a mere story, not as absolute truth; it is my conjecture. When you act foolishly, the demons will harass you; when you walk in God's path, God's angels will protect you, and the demons will be powerless.
Later, I continued to ponder this, for I enjoy contemplating such matters. One who speaks English did not know what pondering meant and asked me, "What is pondering?" I could not find a suitable English word until I found: "Trying to figure it out." If you are blessed, the angel God sends will be mighty and able to protect you; if you are diligent and obedient, He will protect you well! If you act foolishly, your guardian angel will not be strong; not only will he not protect you, but he will also say to a demon, "Torment him, torment him, utterly destroy him." But humans are somewhat perverse; in the midst of torment, they complicate a very simple matter. Living is actually quite simple!
I tell you my own belief: If one has God and loves the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength, then everything becomes simple. Then He will bless you, bless your water, bless your granary, bless your work. He will bless the work of your hands, remove sickness from among you, ensure that none are barren, and fulfill the number of your days in your land. So I later discovered that some are with demons, and some are with God. Those with demons live like demons, and those with God live like God! Ponder this slowly!
In reality, living is a very simple matter, for all things in this world are under the control of our God. I ask you, can God control your customers? Yes! Can God control your boss? Yes! For your sake, God will also control them. It is not your boss who decides, but God! Yet people do not believe this throughout their lives! Why do people not believe? I myself am also astonished. Some say, "I believe!" But that belief must truly be tested; one stumble and they fall into a snare. Next, we will discuss these ubiquitous snares.
Moral Snares
Look at the lives of Christians and you will see that few are blessed, and many are cursed. "You shall not spread a false report. You shall not join hands with a wicked man to be a malicious witness." (Exodus 23:1)
Why do people do such things? People think only of gaining benefits. As they think, they forget that this is a snare, and they follow others in spreading rumors. More captivating than Guo Degang's crosstalk, more thrilling than Shan Tianfang's storytelling, they end up perpetrating the act of calling a deer a horse. Yet they themselves are unclear as to why they do such things, what benefits they can gain. Those wicked people want to take advantage with them; did they gain an advantage? No! They fell into a snare. People always want to gain benefits.
"You shall not fall in with the many to do evil, nor shall you bear witness in a lawsuit, siding with the many, so as to pervert justice, nor shall you be partial to a poor man in his lawsuit." (Exodus 23:2-3)
As soon as I say this, everyone thinks I am taking sides. I am speaking God's word. Perhaps you have your political inclinations, perhaps blue, perhaps white. Whatever the color, we should not participate in these matters. The affairs of this world come in every color. You ask me what color I am? I am no color at all; I simply want to explain God's word clearly. You shall not follow the crowd to do evil. If you are constantly causing trouble in Tiananmen Square, is that good? Why do people cause trouble? Because there is corruption. Even if you cause trouble in Tiananmen Square, can you solve corruption? No, you cannot. You shall not bear witness in a lawsuit, siding with the many. The frenzy of the internet is like a storm; the spittle can drown you, and you join them in the fray.
I saw an incident on the internet: a woman from Xuzhou, kidnapped from somewhere, chained up, and gave birth to eight children. Then someone discovered her, posted photos on the internet, and it suddenly became a trending topic. Later, a celebrity whom I admire wrote a long post on the internet, as if to champion justice for this generation. But this is called cyberbullying. Spittle flew down like rain, as if they were upholding justice.
But the question arises, is this upholding justice or siding with the many? The benevolent see benevolence, and the wise see wisdom. Anyway, I do not do these things; I do not like doing such things. What is the point of doing such things? Anything that follows the trend easily goes wrong. Does God not reign in this world? Are you going to do God's work? Are you going to uphold justice? Do not be excessively righteous; do not try to straighten what God has made crooked.
Snares of Litigation
"Nor shall you be partial to a poor man in his lawsuit." (Exodus 23:3)
Do you think being partial to the poor is justified? Being partial leads you into a snare. How many Christians today want to uphold justice? As if upholding justice is your responsibility. Anyway, I do not do such things. You ask me why I do not do such things with you? I cannot do such things. You want me to take to the streets and cause trouble; I cannot do that. I will accept the loss. There are many injustices in this world; must we take to the streets every time we encounter them?
If you were a local official in that place, and your jurisdiction also had a "Xuzhou woman" incident, perhaps you would not manage it as well as others. So just let it be! Anyway, that is not my responsibility. What is my responsibility? It is to train one person if I can, two people if I can, and then be down-to-earth. As for things that are not my responsibility, God will take care of them! A Christian should not participate in politics; just be a good citizen.
Some people, upon hearing me say this, seem to think I have been bought off. Actually, no, this is what the Bible teaches. Try being in such a position; I doubt you would do as well as others! If God has not placed you in that position, then do not interfere! We see injustices and become indignant. When I saw a very influential Christian righteously denouncing the Xuzhou woman incident, and then in his mind he heard Jesus speaking to him, saying that the Xuzhou woman was Jesus himself, is that so? Where did this all come from? I do not understand what they are playing at; anyway, I do not play these games. Not only do I not play these games today, but I have never played them.
I do not do these useless things. I think being a common person is fine; just be a good common person, and do your job well. Causing trouble will not achieve anything; instead, it will lead you into a snare. A Christian encounters many things in life; it all depends on the choices in your mind. Do the choices in your mind reflect that God reigns in this world, or that you want to reign in this world? Does God uphold justice in this world, or do you want to uphold justice for God? Ponder this slowly. Some people always want to try, as if they are going to uphold justice for God; God does not need that.
Snares of Revenge
Suppose you suddenly see your enemy's ox or donkey wandering astray. Oh, the inner struggle! You hate him to death! Thank God, if people do not help me, God will help me! That is a snare; do you understand? God, I thank you for avenging me! Oh, look, his ox is lost! What kind of mentality is that? You have fallen into a snare. Is that what God told you? That is not what God told you! Always gloating over misfortune; I often remind myself that this is not God's word. Raise your hands and pray, thanking God! God, I thank you that you have brought my enemy to this state; look, his ox is lost! That is not how it is. The ox is also innocent, is it not? The donkey is also innocent. Lead them back and return them to him; this is God's word.
If you see the donkey of someone who hates you lying down under its burden, do not leave him but help him lift it up. Do you understand? Some people do not know and think that God is avenging you. In fact, that is a snare set by God for you to fall into. If you fall into it, curses will follow you; curses are very powerful. So whatever you are doing, the little demon above is constantly harassing you. Perhaps at first there is only one demon, then two, then a whole bunch, harassing you every day. How can you succeed in anything? You cannot succeed in anything.
We must keep one thing in our minds: I will do as God says, not according to my own feelings. God intended for you to be healthy, but you fell into a snare and had to develop some illness; whom can you blame? God said, "You shall serve the Lord your God, and he will bless your bread and your water, and I will take sickness away from among you." But you constantly gloat over misfortune and attract demons. If your mother has a bad temper and you hate her, you have no right to do so. Why? That is a snare. This is written in the Bible, "For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged."
"You shall not pervert the justice due to your poor in his lawsuit. Keep far from a false charge, and do not kill the innocent and righteous, for I will not acquit the wicked." (Exodus 23:6-7)
These are all snares! You must know that the poor are desperate! The poor like to cause trouble, to be honest, the minds of the poor really need to be cleansed. Why are they poor? How do curses come about? They come from falling into snares. Whatever they do, the demons harass them. The same thing, others do it and make money, but when they do it, they lose money. Is this not a web of snares? You say, with nothing to do, you just happen to run into the ox of the person you hate. Once you run into it, you fall into a pit.
In any case, do what is right in the eyes of the Lord. Do you want to be such a cursed person? Absolutely not! People are picky, have many faults, and are cursed! Never argue with people. If someone grabs your collar, you grab his collar; if someone grabs your hair, you grab his hair. Are you going to spend your whole life fighting? If you are here to fight, fighting back and forth will destroy all the blessings.
Snares of Bribery
"And you shall take no bribe, for a bribe blinds the clear-sighted and subverts the cause of those who are in the right." (Exodus 23:8)
Ponder this slowly. If someone sends you a basket of gold, and you have never seen so much money, your heart will be itching, and you tell him, "Do not send any more in the future, but I will accept this one." Hypocritical! This is a snare; you have fallen into a snare! God will curse this person, and he will become a corrupt official and end up in prison. Can bribery and corruption be done? If you do not believe in God and do not know there are curses, then go ahead and do it; try and see what happens! If you trust in God, you must know for sure that it is a curse! Whether you are cursed or not depends on a single thought.
I have a characteristic: when I serve people, I treat them as bad people. Do not think that because you come to me for service, I will think you are a good person. When I am serving, God's word often comes to me, "This guy is like this, that guy is like that." Hearing these things, I almost fell into a snare. Serving and serving, I began to discern good and evil. Be careful, it is tiring.
After serving here, I give him some antidote. As soon as he is released, great! The next day he goes back and quarrels with his daughter-in-law again, and the illness returns. Then he righteously tells me about his daughter-in-law's faults, and the daughter-in-law tells me about her mother-in-law's faults. I say, "Do you want to be sick? Do you want to be in pain? If you want to be in pain, then continue doing it; do not come to me!" Before I leave, let me pray for you first, lest you fall into a snare, lest I discern good and evil because of you.
I often say, "God, may you remember me, be gracious to me, and forgive me!" It is difficult for me to serve someone who is constantly bribing and taking bribes. If you do not say anything, it is like serving God; if you say something, it is really too difficult to speak, it is very struggling! Later, in order to edify people, I did not hesitate to say anything. If I offend people, then so be it!
I have a classmate whose wife had synovitis of the leg, and her ankles and knees hurt. When we met, I said, "Put your feet on the chair, and I will pray for you. This is what I do!" As soon as I pressed my hand and prayed, the Spirit of God said that she had a Pixiu in her pocket. I said, "Do you have a Pixiu in your pocket?" She said yes. I said, "Give it to me, and I will throw it away for you." She gave me a small one, and I continued to pray for her. As soon as I pressed my hand and prayed, the Spirit of God revealed to me again that she had a big one in her pocket. I said to her, "Do you have a big one in your pocket?" She said, "Yes, how do you know?" I said, "I have God!" Give it to me, and I will throw it away for her.
After praying, her knees were healed, and she was jumping up and down, and nothing was wrong. Why are people so foolish? Serving people, how can you serve without God's presence? Serving is full of snares, and being served is also full of snares. So a Christian's entry into the Promised Land is full of snares. This is why Christians are more cursed and less blessed. Everyone should think about this carefully.
Snares of Oppressing Others
"You shall not oppress a sojourner, for you know the heart of a sojourner, since you were sojourners in the land of Egypt." (Exodus 23:9)
People like to bully the weak. For example, one of our brothers is very obedient in front of me because I can control him. But when he returns to his own circle, he is very powerful and bullies everyone he can. You can see this in school. In school, he is bullied by the powerful. When he encounters the weak, he bullies them. But as Christians, you cannot do this. There are many such things in the world, and in the end, the whole world is under a curse.
When I was a child, my parents often told me not to laugh at people. If people stutter, be patient and listen, do not laugh at them. Later, I found that some people like to laugh at people, and as a result, they stutter themselves; laugh at people with limps, and they give birth to a child with a limp. This world is full of snares. God's rules cannot be changed by anyone. Even your guardian angel cannot change them. Implement them one by one according to God's rules. No one can have mercy on you. You must be careful in front of these angels. Do not think that God does not know what you are doing. In fact, God knows and the demons know, and in the end, the curse will come upon you.
The Snare of Coveting Wealth
"Six years you shall sow your land and gather in its yield, but the seventh year you shall let it rest and lie fallow, that the poor of your people may eat; and what they leave, the beasts of the field may eat. You shall do likewise with your vineyard and your olive orchard. Six days you shall do your work, but on the seventh day you shall rest; that your ox and your donkey may have rest, and the son of your female slave, as well as the resident alien, may refresh themselves." (Exodus 23:10-12)
Six years of sowing, and the seventh year of rest. This is God's decree for the Israelites entering the Promised Land. Six years you sow, and the seventh year you let the land rest. People's minds are consumed with money, thinking, "How can this be done?" The land yields rent every year, and people cannot get past this thought. They will gather everything from the land, leaving nothing behind, and end up becoming poor. They will say, "Everyone around me does the same, and they are fine!" Others are others, and you are you. They may be fine, but trouble will come to your house. This is the snare. We must carefully obey God's word, and be wary of the snares that abound on the road to the Promised Land.
Six days of work, and the seventh day of rest. If one loves money to death, there is no way to put down the work at hand. Not just six days of work, but seven days of work, working tirelessly. For the sake of money, they make the female slave, her son, and the resident alien work to the death, squeezing out every last drop. I know an entrepreneur who made a lot of money at a young age. I discussed with him some ideas about managing a business. I said, "How do you train your employees?" He said, "Train them for what? I hire them to make money for me, until I squeeze out their last drop of blood, then I kick them out and find someone else who is capable."
I thought, "Isn't this a vampire?" Of course, this is a made-up story, not real. If people fall into the trap of money, they become extremely detestable, their minds filled with nothing but money. Even if you have money, you will become a wicked capitalist. We must know that a person who loves money finds it difficult to love God. Therefore, we must obey the words God speaks to us.
"Pay attention to all that I have said to you, and make no mention of the name of other gods, nor let it be heard from your mouth." (Exodus 23:13)
In this world, someone might say to you, "That temple is very effective if you burn incense there. If you go, you will be mentioning the name of other gods!" Falling into the snare. Do not think that if you frequently fall into snares, something will happen soon. Nothing happens, nothing at all. I have seen many Christians do this, and they seem to be doing well, always doing well. But be careful, the word "Christian" is almost synonymous with "deceiver." If someone says, "I believe in God, I am a Christian! I will not deceive you." They are definitely a deceiver, for sure! Even with me, you must examine carefully and be cautious. There are many Christian deceivers. Why are they not afraid of God? Is this not a snare? Many relatives deceive relatives, friends deceive friends, and church members deceive church members. You see them deceive and seem to be doing well. It is just that the time for reckoning has not yet arrived.
What One Sows, One Reaps
Some time ago, I gave an example of deception. One of us who does translation used his own example when translating into his local language. His church's junior pastor cheated him out of 10,000 yuan, promising interest, supposed to be for 12 months, but only gave it for 4 months, and then stopped. He went to the senior pastor to reason, but the senior pastor was in cahoots with the junior pastor. The senior pastor said, "I don't care, that was your own choice!" You see how money harms so many people. Christians must be careful!
Six days of work, and the seventh day of rest. Is that feasible? Won't the children need milk? Many people will think this way. In fact, they do not know that God is in control, nor do they believe that God is in control. If you are willing to fall into the snare, then fall! It's okay, you see, nothing happens, right? When the curse ferments, you will know. What is sown is the wind, and what is reaped is the whirlwind. What is sown is a seed, and what is reaped is a hundredfold. This takes time. Sowing the seeds of blessing takes time, and sowing the seeds of cursing also takes time. You just slowly eat it, and when it is time to reap, you cannot finish eating it. You have to pack it up and take it away to finish eating.
I minister to people who have created a huge pile of curses for themselves. It is distressing. Later, whoever comes to me, I tell them the principle of curses. God intended for you to live healthily, but you bring on a whole host of illnesses. Is this not a curse? You say, "I love God very much!" I doubt it. Can loving God result in this? Many people do not listen even when I tell them. After living for many years and eating a lot of swill, they finally say, "Recently, I discovered that I seem to love the world very much!" Only now do you realize? I used to think I loved God very much, but in fact, I love the world! You only realize this now? Slowly eat it, you sowed it yourself, sowed so much, you have to slowly digest it.
The Snare of Paying the Price
"Three times a year you shall celebrate a feast to Me. You shall observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread; for seven days you are to eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, at the appointed time in the month Abib..." (Exodus 23:14-15)
Eat unleavened bread for seven days? There happens to be a loaf of leavened bread in the refrigerator. If it is not eaten, it will spoil next week. If it will spoil if not eaten, then you have to eat it? If you live in the south and have to go to Jerusalem to celebrate the feast, the travel expenses will be expensive, the accommodation will be expensive, everything will be expensive. You say, "I won't go when they are celebrating the feast; I'll go when they are not." This sounds clever, good at calculating. But God does not arrange it this way! These are all snares.
Can worshipping God be the same as tourism? When worshipping God, you do as God says. But you ask, "Why?" You see so many people, queuing up for everything, so troublesome. God, I'll help you change the rules. Do you think God cannot calculate? God just wants to do it this way! The first thing people must learn is to pay the price. If you do not want to pay the price and only want to gain benefits, you will stay in that snare forever! As a result, people become the King of Snares, the Li of Snares, the Liu of Snares, all snares. Wouldn't that be distressing? Who told you to change it arbitrarily?
"None shall appear before Me empty-handed, for in this month you came out of Egypt. Also you shall observe the Feast of Harvest of the first fruits of your labors from what you sow in the field; also the Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year when you gather in the product of your labors from the field. Three times a year all your males shall appear before the Lord GOD. You shall not offer the blood of My sacrifice with leavened bread; nor shall the fat of My feast remain overnight until morning. You shall bring the choice first fruits of your soil into the house of the LORD your God. You shall not boil a young goat in its mother's milk." (Exodus 23:15-18)
You say, "Is this matter so important?" Whether this matter is important or not is not the point, but if you arbitrarily change it, it will be troublesome, and you will fall into the snare.
"You shall bring the choice first fruits of your soil into the house of the LORD your God." (Exodus 23:19)
This sounds a bit difficult to execute, its operability is not so good. But are you living by God, or by the produce of your land? A person who was living in poverty came to ask, "Pastor, I only have one sheep at home. Should I dedicate it to God, or keep it for myself?" You are living in a curse, living with only one sheep left, and you still value it so much. Then continue living like that. If it were a decision involving millions or tens of millions, how would you act? You would value it greatly. If doing this would result in a loss of millions, you would not do it this way. Don't even mention millions, even tens of thousands, you would not do it this way. The problem is that you do not regard God as a treasure. God is worth far more than tens of thousands or millions. Our God is a priceless treasure! Therefore, there are many snares in the world.
"For My angel will go before you and bring you into the land of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; and I will completely destroy them. (Exodus 23:23)
This is what God said. God will completely destroy them, and you will be even more pitiful.
Learn to See Everything as Good
"I will not drive them out from you in a single year, that the land may not become desolate and the beasts of the field become too numerous for you. I will drive them out from you little by little, until you have increased and possess the land. (Exodus 23:29-30)
We often feel that we should be healed sooner, that the demons in us should be cast out sooner. We all hope for this. But our God does not do it this way. In a short period of time, if you cast out the demons, you will not be able to occupy the land, you will not be prosperous enough, and it will become desolate. God will lead us to cast out the demons little by little, so we must know that when entering the Promised Land, we must not discern good and evil with God. God has already arranged it. We should not worry. Do not ask God why it is still like this when there is a problem. God might ask you, "Why are you still like that?" Even if you are like that, you are not prosperous. Even if you are given a piece of land, what will you do with it? Plant grass!
We must have faith in God. God has His own arrangements. If people want to find fault with God, find fault with pastors and ministers, there are plenty of faults to find. The way we think is completely different from the way God thinks. If you cast out everything according to your own way, the beasts will become too numerous, and they will be even more difficult to deal with than the ones you cast out before. Sometimes I really think that people are very good at finding faults.
"I will fix your boundary from the Red Sea to the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the River Euphrates; for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you will drive them out before you. (Exodus 23:31)
Do you know how big that land is? If you were an Israelite, you would be very confused! God! Why is it so small! Look at the American continent, Asia, China, how big that land is. Then look at this land, is this called the Promised Land? Didn't you say that we are like the stars in the sky, the sand on the seashore? Then look at the money in your bank account, and look at Li Ka-shing, Ma Yun, and those billionaires. Then ask God, "Why do I have so little money?" Looking at the Promised Land that God is leading me to, how is it even smaller than Egypt? We have various interpretations. It's okay not to look, but once you look, you discern good and evil, and you fall into the snare. However much God measures out to you, you must learn to see that everything God gives me is the best. But people often see only the bad. If people always see the bad in their eyes, then you probably see only bad people, and your situation will not be good either.
Summary
We must be very careful not to follow the customs of the world. In the eyes of the flesh, we see what the eyes of the flesh see; in the eyes of God, we see what the eyes of God see. In the future, even if we see that this is a small piece of land, we can still prosper on this small piece of land, doing what is right in the eyes of the LORD. God will surely give us the whole earth. If we cannot manage the small, how can we manage the big? If you are not satisfied with a small piece of land, can you first manage this small piece of land well? As a result, the Israelites did not manage this small piece of land well, and often did what was evil in the eyes of the LORD. Later, this small piece of land was also lost, the country was destroyed and the family was ruined for more than two thousand years. Even today, it is still such a small piece of land, and they are still complaining about God.
Can we change the eyes of the flesh? Can we have a perspective from eternity? Today, brothers and sisters, you must know for sure that this earth and everything on it will pass away, heaven and earth will pass away, but the word of God will endure forever. God will build His glorious church on this earth, and God will give us the whole earth. If we cannot manage the small, how can we manage the big? You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might. You shall serve the LORD our God, and He will bless our bread and our water, and He will remove sickness from our midst. We will also be filled with the number of our days in Him. God's promises are far more important than these trivial matters. Our good is not apart from God.
In the days you live on earth, look at your perspective. If you often see the bad, do not blame me for not telling you. If you secretly find all kinds of faults, will you fall into the snare, fall into the curse? Did God tell you to do these things? Have you done your own part well? Have you managed what God has entrusted to you? I have a clear conscience before God to tell everyone: God gives me one, and I will manage it well; God gives me two, and I will manage both well.
In small things, I begin to maintain faithfulness to God. Because all I want is to come before God, and God says to me: "Well done, good and faithful servant." If God gives me a thousand taels of silver, I will manage this thousand taels of silver well; if God gives me two thousand taels of silver, I will manage this two thousand taels of silver well; if God gives me five thousand taels of silver, I will manage this five thousand taels of silver well. I will not argue with God because of how much God gives, because I know my own limitations, and my hand does not want to reach out so far. What God wants is someone like me.
Compared to Jacob and Esau, Jacob saw his brother leading four hundred strong soldiers from afar. Jacob thought, "God! Aren't you going to bless me? But I think it's good that my brother is cursed!" At this time, you are confused. I find that Christians often get confused. When answering questions, looking at the questions asked, I know that everyone is confused. If you ask me why the money in your account is not as much as Ma Yun's, I think you should ask God, and then fall into the snare, so I have another opportunity to pull you out. I am really moved!
If you are confused, there are a thousand and one reasons to be confused; but if you want to have faith, just one reason to believe is enough. Looking at the many problems, I cannot explain them. Should we believe in God? Should we choose to believe in God for just one reason, because God is in control of everything. What God has made crooked, you should not try to straighten. God has filled this world with injustice and unrighteousness. You do not need to act as a righteous person to fight for justice. God has filled this world with confusing things. You should not be confused because of this. You should only choose to believe in God. God allows these things to happen to us so that we know that we need God.
May God bless everyone!
