Questions for Reflection

• Share your thoughts on the meaning or significance behind Jesus feeding five thousand people with five loaves of bread and two fish.

• What is our purpose in following the Lord Jesus? Is it for having bread to eat, or for something else?

• What is the nature of earthly food? What is the nature of eternal food? What is the relationship between earthly food and eternal food?

• How do we labour for eternal food? What is the most important thing to rely on?

In writing the Gospel of John, John observed that some people pursue eternal life, while others do not; those who do not pursue it only seek to satisfy their stomachs. John expresses eternal life through earthly experiences. In our church, you can be healed of your illnesses, but are you labouring for eternal food? We need to choose to believe and labour for eternal food. Jesus came into the world not just to help us find jobs or be healed of illnesses, but to give us something more important.

There is No Eternal Life in Earthly Food

God wants everyone to know that eternal food includes earthly food. What we believe in is the way of eternal life, so do we still need to worry about clothing, food, shelter, and transportation? Those who do not know God are unaware of the immense power contained within Him. Those who are unaware of this power will labour for earthly food. If we can labour for eternity, we will gain treasures in the spirit!

Eating spiritual food will keep our lives healthy, and we will not lack earthly food. Many brothers and sisters in our church have witnessed God's miraculous works in their service, and their work and lives are blessed! In eternal food, we can obtain earthly benefits, and we will experience them as long as we believe. We must understand the importance of eternal life. It is sad if we do not see through the things of this life! Earthly food means grasping everything in the world, which will ultimately not bring satisfaction.

The miracles Jesus performed on earth were to tell us that earthly benefits are not found outside of Him. If we grasp earthly food, we will be trapped within it, unable to enjoy it. If we labour for eternal life, we begin to eat the word of God, to eat the body and blood of Jesus Christ. Within that is everything you need in this life. If people are often unable to find satisfaction, it means they have not eaten eternal food. Labouring for eternal food will bring prosperity to one's life.

There are Miracles in Eternal Life

Within eternal life are God's miraculous works. Many people always think that miracles are far away from us. If you often eat eternal food and believe that Jesus is sent by God, miracles will naturally follow you. Often, it is not that you have money just because you love money, or that you have miracles just because you love miracles; rather, when you do what Jesus did with faith, miracles will be manifested. Our lives greatly need miracles, and we need God's miraculous transformation when we are in despair.

We must emulate Jesus Christ, because Jesus' life was full of miracles. Miracles can bring a lot of trouble to many people, but we must see the eternal life behind these miracles. If you love miracles just because you see them, the miracles will disappear, and all that will remain is the miracle of repentance; if you do not repent, you will not be able to walk the path of faith. When you see miracles, you must know that behind them is the spiritual world.

The things of the world will still make you hungry when you eat them, and still make you thirsty when you drink them. Start pursuing eternal life and eating eternal food. Frequent experiences with God will make you a blessing to your generation, transforming people's lives and bringing them all into eternal life. God will use miracles to testify that He is with you. The principle behind miracles is the concept of eternal life. Jesus came into the world so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life! A person without eternal life is empty.

Labouring for Food that Endures to Eternal Life, Which is to Believe

The power generated by faith is extraordinary. It is absolutely worthwhile to spend the time one would spend lying in a hospital bed praying! Miracles are important in the faith of Jesus Christ, and the foundation is faith. To believe is to do the work of miracles. Miracles cannot be earned through work; you must dedicate time, labour for eternal life, and begin to walk the path of faith. When you believe, you can experience God's wonderful works!

Jesus is the Bread of Life

If, in this life, you are often dissatisfied, it is because you have not eaten the food of eternal life. You cannot find satisfaction by merely doing things in this world. When you reach the pinnacle of the world, you will find great pressure. If the life and death of 1.3 billion people depend on your decisions, it will surely be arduous. The worst job is bearing the burden of many people's earthly sustenance. But if you eat the food of eternal life, feeding five thousand people with five loaves and two fish is not a problem. Jesus said: “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” (John 6:35)

To labour for the food that endures to eternal life, simply choose to believe, constantly seek, and explore. Jesus said: All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. (John 6:37) Those who do not accept eternal life will be driven away. Walking the path of faith, God will never forsake you—what grace this is! Behind every miracle is eternal life. Begin to yearn for eternal life, and miracles will follow you.

Seek and You Shall Find

To him who knocks, God will open the door. Let the past be erased, and begin to decide to follow Jesus closely. I yearn to be a blessing to this land! To impart the faith within me. We will use all public holidays to pray, precisely to be a blessing to this land! Because we are labouring for the food that endures to eternal life.

Believing in Jesus is the Bread of Life

Jacob yearned to obtain eternal life, yearned to labour for eternal life, and God did not hesitate to temporarily blind his father, Isaac, to fulfill Jacob's dream. If you closely follow and believe, seeking with faith, God will bring about a transformation. “Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life.” (John 6:47) Jesus is the bread of life. If you want to experience God, you must walk the path of complete faith.

Eternal Life Will Sift People

The words Jesus spoke were to sift out a group of unbelievers. The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. (John 6:63) The words Jesus speaks to us are spirit and life! Unbelievers will suffer God's wrath. If anyone does not love God, that person is cursed. The grace God gives to people is that as long as they believe in Him, He will not abandon them. He has the words of eternal life. To whom else shall we go?

Conclusion

If you come to church only for earthly food, you will likely become a toxin in the church. The church uses eternal life to sift people out, and then the church will grow rapidly. Because there are no wolves or toxins inside. All who come to our church are shaken. Because in our church, there is a group of people running towards eternal life! Miracles and wonders will be greatly manifested among us. If you do not want to be possessed by the devil, come and believe with faith and the hope of eternal life. Jesus is our eternal food, our good is not apart from Him; only eternal life can give you everything you need!
