I realised then that my research was insufficient, and I couldn't continue. After that one session, I stalled. But it is alright, I must still have joy. Though I couldn't proceed then and was stuck, after more than a year of further in-depth study on joy, I've had a breakthrough and am continuing. Today is the second session of the joy series. You will notice that the first session in the Mingding Destiny series was on joy. On the matter of joy, I later discovered that joy truly requires wisdom. Today, I will share an anecdote with you:

Recently, I considered writing to the Nobel Prize Committee to inquire about the absence of a Joy Prize among the various awards like the Peace Prize and Physics Prize. Why is there no one talking about joy? I thought of establishing a new award called the Nobel Joy Prize. When asked about my intentions, I would say: I want to recommend someone for this prize. Upon further inquiry about the nominee, I would answer: It is me, I nominate myself. People might think: Who is this person, so shameless? Even with thick skin, one must have joy—hence, the Joy Prize.

I have finally discovered the laws of joy, the greatest discovery of the 21st century, so I claim. Later, I thought of creating a course and issuing joy certificates to make a huge profit. Consider a good advertising slogan, ah yes, A license to live. If one lacks joy, does one not lack a license? If drivers are stopped on the street, they must produce their license. Likewise, we stop people: Do you have a license? A license to live? If they do not, we tell them to get one from Pastor Liu's course.

Like advertising and setting up courses, buy microphones online, just like the ones on television, facing the microphones without reporters, promote a license to live course, and hire some shills to interview people on the streets: Are you joyful? If not, they need a license. Do you like suffering? If so, they don't have a license. Tell them they need a license to live, running around without one to learn how to live. Whose course should they take? The course of the Nobel Joy Prize—as yet—unawarded. Unawarded should be said softly.

The Nobel Joy Prize is self-invented, still unawarded, which must be said quietly, lest people think it is already awarded. This business is smoking hot! Start a TikTok account called Joy; the market is massive; our market is everywhere. Wow, you can really boast! But the boasting is not hot air; it is the result of scientific research. Establish a joy school and a joy company for people to work joyfully together, such that not working causes them distress.

People may say: Pastor Liu, you are good at PUA, brainwashing people. Your PUA is powerful. Others do 996; we do 007, working from midnight to midnight, almost like robots. This discovery is so great. Many companies will invite me to speak to make their employees joyful and work happily. Some might say: You cannot continue like this; you will become a workaholic, a Southeast Asian workaholic! But this is just a joke. I don't know if it is funny; just treat it as a joke.

Joy is a very difficult thing. Is everyone aware that joy is a very difficult thing? Many people create problems and become joyless. I've been surprised by what I have seen; people lack nothing but joy. They can find any excuse to be miserable. Even with nothing happening, they are miserable. The world is in dire need of joy, and we provide it, meeting the market's demand. In cities like Shenzhen and Guangzhou, people gather to discuss earning money and changing this generation. This generation must be changed; people are talking about earning joy instead of money. How wonderful!

Many people, whether in the South or North, like Zhao Benshan's skits. Why? Because they are so lacking in joy, and the skits bring them happiness. Joy requires wisdom and knowledge! Without wisdom and knowledge, one cannot have joy. This is the greatest discovery of the 21st century; without wisdom and knowledge, it is hard for people to have joy. People are like they are bewitched or like computers infected with a virus. Software has bugs; are you familiar with the term bug? Today, I will teach you two English words: bug. In Chinese, we call it 臭虫, computer bug.

Any who have experienced this? I often see joyless faces on the streets.

When I go to church, I see a certain face. Don't nitpick; I am telling you the truth as I see it. I have a name for that face; do you know what it's called? The Pastor's Wife Face. Absolutely joyless. After years of exploring, I finally discovered the laws of joy! Foolishness from having insects in the brain!

I recently visited a church where the pastor greeted me. The pastor's wife rushed out and said, Pastor Li, the toilet is clogged; go fix it! I am more valuable than a toilet! What a great tragedy that is to not have joy in life! Always miserable is a cancerous disposition. What problems should a pastor solve? The fundamental problem is the problem of joy. Though I have been boasting and delivering a monologue, there is indeed a great discovery. Let me tell you the content of the thesis.

One of our sisters had a father who was the general manager of a company during the early days of reform and opening up, doing very well. However, someone from above was assigned to be the general manager, someone not there to work, but to hold the position, relegating him to deputy general manager. When asked to be the deputy general manager, he refused. They offered a house, which was a good deal in those days. He still refused, resigned, and was miserable, feeling he lost face. He didn't think it through! He then went into business, and later developed cancer. After several years of battling cancer, he was always miserable.

Those with cancer should listen, as cancer often starts there. I have noticed that a person's disposition can change in a split second, allowing the insects of hell to enter. This sister's father died when she was very young. Her aunt developed cancer. Why are there so many cases in her family? Her great-aunt suffered from back pain. The elderly couple, her grandparents, almost ninety years old, moved into a sanitarium to be taken care of. At the sanitarium, they had to undergo physical examinations. Upon examination, her two aunts argued with the doctors! Why? Because the examinations kill red blood cells. Isn't this a cancerous personality that finds trouble where there is none?

I want to give you the best medicine today. Are there any among us who deliberately seek trouble? Another sister's husband is paralyzed. She takes care of him but not willingly. Not taking care of him makes her feel guilty. And her paralyzed husband is quite unruly, often saying upsetting things, causing her misery. Are there things that can cause us to be joyless, to suffer? Yes. But we should not suffer! The best medicine is joy. Some sisters are typing: My mother is like that. If your mother is like that, you must be careful! Just as people assess a horse by its mother, this can easily be passed down to you!

Some people are finally straightened out by me because they like to make themselves miserable. I sometimes had to discipline them before they came around. After being straightened out, they would tell me at night: When I am awake, I know I shouldn't be miserable; I know the pastor is good to me. But last night, I had a very vivid dream that you told me to get lost, and I became miserable. When I woke up, the misery lingered. What is this? Even dreams make you miserable! Brothers and sisters, you must know: People truly need wisdom, or even dreams will deceive you.

One of our sisters is quite interesting. Her husband went to Canada. She woke up miserable, Why? Because of a dream in which her husband was with another woman. What is this? He didn't even get her permission to appear in her dream like that. She didn't know that brought out in the open, it's like a joke. Isn't this deliberately creating problems? To share with you all, today, a key to joy comes in finding joy in labor. The topic for today is Joy in Labor!

IV. Scriptural Background

Ecclesiastes chapter 5 speaks extensively, from chapter 1 to chapter 5. Isn't this like the Song of the Fifth Ring Road? Outside the fifth ring road is the sixth, and outside the sixth is the seventh. No need to explain that. Going to the 5th chapter, 1st chapter below 2nd chapter, 2nd chapter below 3rd chapter, Then 4th chapter below 5th chapter. Today, we will pick out the 5th chapter to talk about this matter. What should everyone know? Solomon has done a big project, What project then? He wanted to study this happiness.

He studied for a lifetime, doing a lot of things. Let me tell you, this person is interesting, people have the capital to do these experiments, build a big house, how many square meters? There should be 20,000 square meters of houses. I am also wondering how to live in this 20,000 square meter house? A two-square-meter bed is enough, how can it still be 20,000 square meters. As a result, he married many women in this big house, It is told to you that Solomon has the most wives. Then make a lot of money, this is the dream of many men, right? But not happy. Later studies found that happiness is not so strenuous, does not require so much money, does not require so many women, does not require so much big house to have happiness, it is that the hearts of people need to be truly happy.

In fact, people are happy to have done a pile of research. I tell you, I read this Ecclesiastes well again, studying this happiness, in fact, happiness does not need this at all. There is an entrepreneur, he is a big star in the IT industry. I recorded the video. He was just pacing back and forth in this video, he said that happiness, joy, has nothing to do with money. But today there are still that many people living in this missing feeling, still in a kind of regret feeling: Oh, too regretful! Cannot be Solomon: no money, not happy; no big house, not happy. Later you carefully examine those who have it, he is not happy either. Because happiness has nothing to do with these things. Solomon made a pile of these things, finally found that it has nothing to do with those. It's got nothing to do with those, he did what then?

Here is a grievous evil that I have seen under the sun: wealth hoarded to the harm of its owners, or wealth lost through some misfortune, so that when they have children there is nothing left for them to inherit. People come naked from their mother’s womb, and as they come, so they depart. They take nothing from their toil that they can carry in their hands. This too is a grievous evil: As everyone comes, so they depart, and what do they gain from toiling for the wind? All their days they eat in darkness, with great frustration, affliction and resentment.(Ecclesiastes 5:13-17)

Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless. As goods increase, so do those who consume them. And what benefit are they to the owners except to feast their eyes on them? The sleep of a laborer is sweet, whether they eat little or much, but as for the rich, their abundance permits them no sleep.(Ecclesiastes 5:10-12)

That is, people's goals have gone wrong, later Solomon summed it up:

This is what I have observed to be good: that it is appropriate for a person to eat, to drink, and to find satisfaction in their toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given them—for this is their lot. Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot in life—this is a gift of God.(Ecclesiastes 5:18-19)

How well this is summed up! He have researched for a lifetime, doing a lot of experiments wasted. Today Solomon tells us these words tell us: Today you don't go to toss those things, and you don't have that capital to do. Then let's not toss around, happy in all circumstances! How good that would be! So people needs to have wisdom, you think about it, I want to ask you today: have you ever been in contact with unhappy people? There's plenty. But the most important thing to know is that joy is the goal!

V. The Goal of Human Life is to Rejoice in Labor

The goal of human life is to rejoice in labor! Everyone must understand that this is the greatest discovery of the 21st century. If people are able to grasp this concept, you will be amazing. The goal of human life is to rejoice in labor instead of making money, if it is to make money it is trouble. Today, let's all change a bit, let's all earn joy. Always be happy doing whatever, what do you think? That's of course good. You know what, I especially like to work, some people do not like to work. You say you don't like to work, but you still have to work; you don't like to study, but you still have to go to school. I just like to travel, go out to play, and when travelling I don't have money, and I work hard to save money, just to go out to play for those few days! That's trouble.

In fact, I was not born to like to work, everyone has to know that god has given me this wisdom and has me know how good it is to like to work. Are you someone who likes to work or does not like to work? If you are someone who does not like to work, you need to come to my class and get a license. I like to observe, and I also like to research, although I do not have the capital to do the experiments that Solomon did, but I can step on Solomon's shoulders and continue to do research. You know scientific research is like this, taking the most advanced modern technology to do a survey, then finding a point, doing a small breakthrough in that place, this is scientific research.

Standing at Solomon's perspective, when I continue to research it, I found that this thing needs to be put into practice. After Solomon finished researching, we have to put it into practice, after practice, it's specially good! You think about it, what does it do if people does not work? It is told to you, I am not sure what he does! I have done experiments, when people do nothing every single day, and then there is pain all over. Does everyone have this condition? That uncomfortable ah! It seem very tired, I'm thinking what, how can it be so tired of not doing anything? Very evil you say is not. Later I took management, I recognized these thing, at the work post what person has, the most severe punishment to him, is letting him do nothing at all.

In the early days when I was a manager, there was a person who kept making matter underneath me, very much annoyed. Finally, I found a way to punish people, I said you every single day at half past eight in the morning, must come here to go to work, and at five o'clock in the night, you can go home. He said all right, I said: If you do not come at half past eight, there will be tardiness fee. Before five o'clock you leave, I will mark as leave early, when it is time, then I will deduct the salary. He said: If come here at half past eight doing what? I said: It is easy, you do not have to do anything, just sitting at this square. I tell you, he sat here for so many days, he came looking for me: Boss, I don't want that this! I said: you don't want to work? Finally, everyone from the place where he sit come in and out, see and treat him like a dog shit, he also sees and treats himself like a dog shit. Uncomfortable!

Early in the day, I found an article on the newspaper, article said: There is a self-hanged suicides in one enterprise, the self-hanged suicide came to be because what? Because the boss did not give him work! It is told to you, this thing, you don't like to work? So some people to today do not know, do not know that working is to rejoice in labor, and is what humans should work out the goal. They always feel that it's about working for money, no. Working itself is a reward. Can everyone understand this? So later, I basically never say to my boss in that workplace: you want to add my salary, because working itself is the reward, later my boss adds my salary, that is God's grace. Later, you know what happened? Salary also increased! You know, in my workplace, my working methods are difficult to understand, which is my job I do all, not my job no one else doing I also help with their job. No matter if its dirty difficult job or heavy duty, if the company hires employee like me, how good is that. Because I have been research long ago before, I have research how people should leave then how to live? Want to live like that.

And because I do a lot that job! I roughly do the duties of that three people and five people, three or five people may certainly not be to do like me. Solving what problems? I tell you what will happen. A magical thing can happen ah! Living happy na, then you know? Boss will all of a sudden promote me ah! my Above boss quit after, and my top-Boss promote me to up over there. You know after Promoting is very arduous, you may perhaps not be able to bear it, you may not be able to afford that? However, I do a lot work, therefore these things for me to speak, don't worry at all.

When that position goes up they do, actually I was already can do, actually that jobs. I have not said Promote, did request for salary increase, but position Promote, and salary also increase. Recently there is sister in the enterprise remembers the things, in working, did those things that no one does, but went to the copier to seeing there, the bonus that people who dont work collected as much as her ah! There came a person the duplicated and forgot to take away, the information was thrown on in there this copier. Back to coming what hesitation ah! The goal mistake! After come back the other junior shepherd say: Hesitates in the middle, inside not level ah! Not nice. After have, she had to refer to that: Pastor After do the jobs, other boss elevate the rank, increase the wages, and watch my work.

She does not know how many years I insist to do! I can bear ah! She is learning me, the years she spent on confusing life have not made up with this yet, just study on this for one year, the state of mind has not adjusted, so today does everyone know? I am more happier than Solomon, say what then? I have not suffer with so many these things, I've learned to, because I trampled on Solomon's the shoulders and got this? Remember, the working in labor, finding rejoice is unsparing greatly matter, you always only make money. You know have a characteristic, how to put that nice but hard day, when the bottom of the valley is dark not seeing the future, when no future, build a church is something that is most painful?

Building tiny micro church, it's the same as seedling same! A strand baby little wind, all eat, The sun baby a little small sun to be scorched dry, don't say is that build up build up, it has been nearly dying. What to build and build is going to die, and what to look at and be bothered. I tell you everything the same, if you build an new enterprise, small enterprise is very hard to, in this intense market competing environment, is need to be patient. You know I have a characteristic then, when not happiness, the suffering, If I stay is hard for me to bear double ah! If I I am un happy then I must find a job, I must worked until it becomes hard, sadness can be reduced by half. Can everyone understand? This is wisdom ah! Therefore when there be a difficult time, I will not eat and drink. However, I must work until it becomes hard, the sadness more double today, and I tell you what, no matter what Cancer, it's because they lost the power to control/balance/logic by sadness is reduced to be in half/or by working what is hard ah! they need to just get results then they cannot worked until it becomes it hard. By I place, there had been a lot of people actually I healed it.

One brain cancer patient was healed through me. After the healing, I encouraged him to follow me and believe in the Lord wholeheartedly. Actually, for cancer patients who come to me, every prayer is effective, but the intrinsic joy was lacking. As a result, this brain cancer patient, who was originally supposed to be sent to a hospice, was completely healed after I prayed for him. He was originally in Australia, a friend of mine. After he recovered and returned home, I asked him to follow me and believe in the Lord, but he refused, wanting to have fun. All the photos he posted in his social circle were taken in the midst of revelry. Three months later, his condition suddenly relapsed and he died! Was it worth it? If you could do it all over again today, don't go and have fun. Do something worthwhile. You cannot preserve your life through health maintenance alone.

When I was a child, a neighbor of mine contracted cancer. In those days, cancer was not common. After he was diagnosed, the doctor said he had only three to six months to live. Since he had no money for treatment, he set up a stall at the crossroads near our house, offering free bicycle repairs. He repaired one after another, as there were many bicycles to repair back then! As a result, he didn't die after a year. He suddenly remembered what the doctor had said: he only had half a year to live. He had forgotten about it while happily repairing bicycles. A year later, a medical examination showed that the cancer was gone. See, is joy in labor solving problems?

Joy in labor truly solves problems. This is Solomon's research, and he was right. Through repeated experiments, I have also found this to be true. I enjoy working; when I don't work, the things that come to my mind are unbearable. I am not exaggerating. I have suffered many losses. When others take advantage of me, I feel bad. When I recall the embarrassing things I have done, I feel bad. So, I might as well work hard! If there is no work, I go out and find some. How much do you charge for your work? No charge, it's free. I am learning from my neighbor, repairing bicycles for free, just like that.

You know, many times people don't understand what I am doing. They think I am trying to make money. What am I going to do with that money? I am not short of money. I just want to earn more joy. I particularly enjoy doing this. You know there is a term in software called bug, which means removing the insects in the software. I am quick and good at doing this, and the people around me enjoy it with me. It's not for making money, but for earning joy. Can you understand that? You may not understand, but it would be good if there were more people like this in the world. My goal in life is to find joy in labor. I have proven this many times. If I can find joy in labor, I tell you, money will fall from the sky, not just like a pie, but much better than a pie. So today, brothers and sisters, stop trying to make money. Stop getting entangled in this trivial matter or that trivial matter, a lot of small nonsense that you get tired of dealing with. So I want our brothers and sisters to know today that you have the glorious image of God in you. The glorious image of God is about giving, not receiving.

In this world, I want to live each day with joy, finding joy in labor, and dedicating myself. Isn't that good? So, when you interact with me, don't be afraid that I will deceive you. What would I deceive you for? I often tell people, just looking at you, what is there for me to gain from you? Living like that, what can I get from you? I don't want anything, just to share joy with you. If you can live out the image of God, that is joy. God wants us to manage all things. What is managing all things if not work? Managing all things is work, is labor. Although God created all things beautifully, He left a part for us to manage. When we manage these things, do you manage them with joy or with worry? If you manage them without joy, constantly worrying, you will end up with a shrewish face, which is terrible.

So I tell you, having work itself is a reward. How do you know? Because Jesus made it clear to us in the New Testament. For example, some enter the vineyard at eight in the morning, and some enter at five in the evening. When everyone comes out at six in the evening, each person receives one coin. Those who entered at eight in the morning and left at six in the evening worked for ten hours. Those who entered at five and left at six worked for one hour. Why do they all get one coin? Because when you entered, you were told you would get one coin. Isn't that what you get when you come out? In fact, many people don't realize that the reward is not that one coin; the reward is working in the vineyard, that is their reward. So working in the vineyard, working happily, that is your reward. Can everyone understand? If your logic is not right, you may not understand.

People like this have gained wisdom and intelligence. With this wisdom and intelligence, they can find joy in labor. You wander around the streets, feeling bored, right? Finally, at five o'clock, someone invites you to work in the vineyard. You enjoy one hour, but you enjoyed ten hours in there. What is there to be unhappy about when you come out? There is nothing to be unhappy about. So I think today God wants us to work. Today I want to talk about how to work. Why are you not joyful when you work? You are not joyful in labor because you don't know how to work. To put it bluntly, you are foolish, not very smart. So if a person doesn't know that money is not the goal, he who loves money will not be satisfied with money; when goods increase, those who consume them also increase. What benefit does the owner get, except to feast his eyes on them? Do you understand this?

In the future, I tell you, if I establish a company, my highest operating principle will be that you find joy in this company. Some people I invite, saying, Come and work here. They ask, Really? I say, Yes, come, come. On their first day of work, they ask me, Teacher, what can I do? I say, Just do simple things here, you don't need to do much. Study hard, be happy, and joyful. They ask, I don't need to do anything? I say, Learn first, learn something. They say, Oh, that's great. They used to do administration in the church, but after many years, I saw that they were all crooked. When they come here, I say, Let's straighten out the crookedness first. Oh, and I get paid for straightening out the crookedness? Wow, is there such a good thing in the world? I say, It's okay, this is my highest pursuit.

Would you want to squeeze into a company like that? You definitely would, but there are not so many positions, so I have to choose slowly. I may not choose you, but I specifically choose people who find joy in labor. Work itself is a reward, okay? Today, brothers and sisters, stop being upset when you see someone at the copier making more money than you. The work you do is the reward itself. If you don't get this logic right, you will have worked in vain.

VI. The Wisdom of Labor

I like to choose people who enjoy working. What should I do if you don't enjoy working? You know, as late as 11:30 last night, my employees were still working. They were all online, not necessarily working here, but online. I was listening to the computer conference, and they were still discussing enthusiastically on Tencent Meeting. I said, It's Saturday today, and you are still working so hard? Yes, we have to work. Do you see the effect of this management? I like people to be joyful. If you don't labor, if you don't find joy in labor, you can't be joyful. Let's talk about the wisdom of labor. You must want to know. Someone said, Teacher, I am not joyful, I am not joyful in labor.

Do you all know point five? The goal of a person's life is to find joy in labor, that is the goal. Do you understand? Point six is the wisdom of labor. Do you understand? Without wisdom, how can one enjoy it? You say, Oh, Teacher, I am not joyful. When I look, I see a waste. Why a waste? You say, Teacher, why are you calling me a waste? Today, aren't we here to stop being a waste? Isn't this a great discovery? You have to listen to me, I am an expert. Later, I discovered that the reason why a person is not joyful in labor is a little complex. The reason is that they haven't found the feeling of working.

They are slow at doing things, they can't find the rhythm. They don't use their brains, they don't think, they don't innovate, they don't improve efficiency, they don't do anything, they just dawdle around. Do you think they can be joyful? They don't know how to work, they don't have wisdom. Without wisdom, they can't find the feeling; without the feeling, they can't find joy. What does it mean to not find the feeling? It means not finding the laws of development of things. Today, brothers and sisters, whatever you do, you have to do it with feeling. Do you understand? If you haven't done it with feeling, it is hard to be joyful. If you haven't done it with feeling, you haven't grasped the laws of things, you haven't solved any problems, it's hard to be joyful. Do you understand now? You have to have wisdom, the wisdom of labor. With the wisdom of labor, you can innovate, solve problems, and remove all kinds of bugs.

For example, Kazuo Inamori, even when he was very old, Japan Airlines was about to go bankrupt, losing a lot of money. They invited Inamori to manage it. After he arrived at Japan Airlines, he said, Oh, there's a bug here, there's a bug there. He fixed the bugs in the company's management. After he fixed the bugs, Japan Airlines made money, and the company survived, right? Inamori does things with feeling. He sees the problem here, the problem there.

When I work on software, I see the problem here, the problem there. I know software inside and out. I fix bugs all day long. In corporate management, you have to solve corporate management problems. To solve these problems, you must have this wisdom and knowledge, which is the law of development of things. Can you understand? If you say you don't have the feeling, what should you do? Just work until you have the feeling. But during the time between not having the feeling and having the feeling, you may not be very joyful, right? Some people never develop the feeling because they are tired of doing that work, they don't want to do it well. I know this from my own experience.

I started as an engineer. Engineers like to solve technical problems. But one day, I was suddenly promoted to management. Managing the people under me was a headache. Technical people don't like to manage people. It's a nightmare. I almost quit. Being managed by others is not good, right? Managing others is also painful. Neither managing others nor being managed by others seems like the right path, right? The main thing is less money. But weren't you saying it's not about the money? But if they promote you, you have to do it.

Every day when I arrived at the office and sat at my desk, I would say, You have to like this work, you have to like doing this. I forced myself to like doing this. Later, I borrowed many books on how to be a manager, how to do management, and read them. I found the feeling, and I knew how to do it. Every time I cleaned up, she would play with her feces in the toilet. You say, how could I do this? It was really desperate! I figured it out, I figured it out, and I found the feeling. VII. Joy is a Spiritual Thing

I tell you that the work of the devil is to steal people's joy, and the work of God is to give people joy. What if a person doesn't know this? Start learning today. Do you know why when people are idle, ideas pop into their heads that make them uncomfortable? Because that's the devil. The devil is invisible and intangible, but it is clearly at work. Today, in the spiritual realm, overcome by relying on God, and then put to death the deeds of the flesh, because those who are according to the flesh are destined for death. A person who is of the flesh is naturally not joyful. When you put to death the deeds of your flesh, your spirit will surely prosper, and you will surely be joyful.

The devil releases many lies, whether through this or that. The worst habit people have when I am delivering them is to explain their foolishness: Oh, it's not like this, it's like that, explaining their foolishness. I say, Why are you explaining this? Is that reasonable? Therefore, in many words and many dreams there are vanities and delusions. Abandon these things and be joyful. This is the theology of victory. Overcome yourself, overcome the spiritual forces of darkness, and rely on God to gain destiny and become a person God is pleased with. God will take what the sinner has accumulated and give it to those He pleases.
