Introduction

Good day to all. Time flies; the pandemic has been with us for over two years, and this is already the third year. Thank God, we are still alive. When the pandemic first started, it was indeed hard to imagine how long it would last. Yet, two years have passed, and people are still living; humans are highly adaptable. So, after these two-plus years of the pandemic, we sometimes find that those who wanted to die haven't, while many who didn't want to have passed away.

In the blink of an eye, years have gone by. If you were thirty-nine before the pandemic, you are now over forty; if you were fifty-nine, you are now over sixty. A person's life is truly short. If one doesn't figure out the matter of living, living in a muddled manner is truly a tragedy. So, how exactly should one live? Today, as we were worshipping, some brothers and sisters mentioned a two-month-old baby who cries all day long, only stopping when held, and crying again when put down. They have been carrying the baby around all day, wearing down the floorboards at home, without figuring out the matter. A two-month-old baby throws the household into chaos, why? Because they don't know what to do. If you had asked me earlier, the problem would have been solved long ago; why suffer so much?

Humans are very interesting, so figuring out how to handle them is a skill. What does a pastor do? A pastor handles people. But I'm not handling them for the worse, but to make them better. You say you handle flowers; not to ruin them, but to make them better. How wonderful is the subject I study! The older this skill, the more valuable it becomes. If I live to be nine hundred years old, I will have eight hundred years of experience handling people, that's the idea. The older one gets, the more experienced one becomes; there is no retirement age for handling people. So today, our topic is Man Lives.

Speaking of the matter of man living, this is my specialty; I love talking about it. Some people say, Pastor, quickly pray for this person; they are dying, send them to Heaven. I don't handle that. Can you send someone to Heaven? The tickets must be very expensive, so valuable! But I don't handle people dying; I handle the matter of people living. Today's topic is Man Lives by Every Word That Comes From the Mouth of God! I dare not boast about anything else, but studying the Bible—every word that comes from the mouth of God—I truly have some qualifications; let me humbly brag a little.

Wherever I go, many pastors don't like me. Why? They have their reasons. In the past few years, I haven't written many Bible study books, only seventy-plus. In another year or two, it will be eighty-plus, and later, over a hundred. Studying what? Studying how people live. Think carefully, brothers and sisters who have been with us for a long time, who isn't living well! If you just arrived and haven't gotten it right, slowly adjust; isn't this our specialty? In the future, can we open a major in university called Living? If we do well in this major, we can become master's and doctoral supervisors. What do you do? I handle people. What do you handle? I make people live, it's very popular.

I talked about a few foundational faith series earlier. The first was Re-Recognizing Between Life and Death. Life is very interesting. You don't want to come into this world, but your mother gives birth to you; you can't control that, what you say doesn't count. But one thing, how you live after coming into this world, you can choose. You choose to study hard, and later you study well; study well and you find a good job. But some people, when they study, everything hurts except their hair; that's your Mingding Destiny.

Isn't studying this matter very important in one's life? Fortunately, I like to study, computers, software, management, and now I'm studying how to manage people. The second talk was The Spirit Gives Life. To live well, you must know the spiritual realm. If you don't know the spiritual realm, how can you live well? Living in a daze. Today's third talk is Man Lives by Every Word That Comes From the Mouth of God. Didn't the last talk speak of The Spirit Gives Life? Jesus said, The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life. The words of demons are also spirit, that is an evil spirit; the words of demons are corruption.

Man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of God. I find that I have grown a lot in the past few years. Some time ago, I told a co-worker that I must continue to grow, and he said if you continue to grow, you will go to Heaven. I said, is that the Western Heaven or the Eastern Heaven? Of course, that's a joke. Where have I grown recently? I described the word foundation very well; I connected this foundation to mathematics, to the plane geometry I learned before.

The foundation of all scientific disciplines is axioms, everyone must know this. You say I am a farmer, never went to school since I was a child, can't read or write. You bring up axioms, that won't do. Today you learned this, and you tell your neighbor, I learned something: The foundation is axioms. The neighbors think it's very high-level, very cool. Some people among us didn't like to study since childhood, but they are not stupid. After growing for a few years, they return to their hometown and see, Where did you learn so much knowledge? Today everyone must know that the foundation is that axiom.

Axioms cannot be proven; they are not proven. A hypothesis is called a premise; that is not a proof. What is built on this foundation is called a theorem; theorems are proven. Today you can live by every word that comes from the mouth of God, or you can live by your own set of things. These are not two children arguing red in the face. After arguing, the two of them will wait and see; wait and see what? Wait and see the future outcome.

Why do I say this? People have their own theories; you can't convince me, and I can't convince you. Actually, what is there to convince? The foundations are different, so we look at the result in the end, wait and see. If they live long enough, the two children grow to be over fifty years old. At fifty, you understand destiny. Then they sit down and talk about how their lives have been. Then you can see the difference at once. Some are in prison, some are outside prison; some are in coffins, some are outside coffins. Where can you reason with this? We say wait and see.

What if we don't have time to wait and see? Then today I give you a good suggestion, choose to rely on every word that comes from the mouth of God. This is powerful, why? Because it's good to live by every word that comes from the mouth of God. How is it good? It's that they live well. Once a person lives by every word that comes from the mouth of God, they are joyful, happy; and once a person lives by every word that comes from the mouth of God, they experience miracles. You see, before, when encountering this matter, This matter can't be done well, we can't do it, no one can do it. The matter is given up. As a result, living by every word that comes from the mouth of God, wow, a miracle!

Look at how many miracles there are among us today; there are over seventy testimonies today. Built on the foundation of God's words, it conforms to the laws of human life. If a person chooses the wrong foundation in this life, that is their fate. A person who is ignorant can still be taught, but choices cannot be taught, so we can only wait and see. Don't choose the wrong foundation in this life. What if you choose wrong? Like those two children, what can they argue out? You say, The spirit gives life. They insist, No, the flesh gives life, people are iron, food is steel. There's no way to argue.

Yesterday I ministered to a brother and tested the power of choice. Choice is very powerful. Choice is a very simple matter; I choose to accept this axiom, or I choose not to accept it; I choose that one, it is that one, I choose this one, it is this one. It's just this one choice. In English, this is called:

paradigm shift, which is to change the way of thinking, to change the foundation of thinking.

The brother I ministered to yesterday was uncomfortable. You say this person lacks nothing, but is uncomfortable, lacking joy. Why is he not joyful? Because of this trivial matter, that trivial matter. Of course, I say trivial, but the person involved may feel it's a big deal. But we change the way of thinking, change the foundation, and the problem is easily solved, and he is happy. He is happy, and I am happy.

Does everyone want to know what this way of thinking is? It's that people are important, the matter is not important. You see some people doing business, doing it, and we are controlled by that business; doing it, and we are controlled by work; building a church, building it, and we are controlled by the church. Anyway, people are more important than the matter. Do you think this foundation is important? It's very simple; you know it with one choice: I am more important than that matter, so why should I not be joyful? I must be joyful; that matter is not important. That matter is just a small exercise for me; why should I be controlled by it? If the matter is done well, then it is done, and if it is not done well, then forget it. Think about it slowly. Some of what I say, many churches do not agree with, but the results of practice are good.

Some pastors among us, I don't like the way they pastor, but I don't like it, I just say, You pastor, it doesn't matter if you make mistakes. Some people are also quite unlucky, following the wrong pastor, that is also their fate. When I say this, everyone may be muttering in their hearts. Why? When you are pastoring, you are growing in pastoring, you are more important than the matter of pastoring. My logic is very simple: If that person is a Joseph, even if you pastor him wrong, he is still a Joseph; if that person is not a Joseph, even if you pastor him right, he is not a Joseph. Look at how I speak? Each level down, people are more important than matters. Isn't that very good?

In the future, I will write a book on business management; I really want to use my set of things to guide business management. If business management sees people as more important than things, what will happen to that business management? It will definitely be managed well. Who doesn't feel, Look how much my boss cares about my growth. People's hearts are warm. Then you say, Can this thing of yours work? When he came in, he was not a talent, and not very like a talent.

I hired him with a very low salary, but it doesn't matter, I let him grow in his job, I train him. Finally, I trained him to become a talent. He is valuable, his growth is faster than his salary, isn't that making money? Isn't that what the boss does? That's the principle I'm talking about. What does it mean? It means we change a way of thinking inside. Don't think crookedly, I am preaching, not talking about business management. I say that the matter of living in this life is very interesting, so once the foundation is adjusted, the efficiency of solving problems is very high.

So think about it, the brothers and sisters in our church, in our midst, their hearts are warm: Oh, the pastor really cares about my growth. That is our logical system. The matter of man living is by every word that comes from the mouth of God. This work is given to us; can we not do this work well? We must do this work well.

Sometimes you see the people I minister to, I say, You call me, don't worry about me being busy, this is my job. Look, doesn't it sound very warm? He said, Pastor, I don't want to bother you, you have to prepare your sermon on Saturday. I said, It's okay, preaching is not important, you are more important than preaching. After hearing this, people feel wow, comfortable! Some people say, This Liu Bei is very powerful, very good at buying people's hearts. I am not buying people's hearts, it's the real thing. Can buying people's hearts work?

So, are people important or are things important? Of course, people are important. It's uncomfortable if things are not done well; it's also uncomfortable if someone does things better than you; it's uncomfortable if others don't do things well; it's uncomfortable if others do things well and you don't do them well. Anyway, there are many uncomfortable people in this world; these uncomfortable people don't know how to live. Today is uncomfortable, tomorrow is uncomfortable. This uncomfortableness is a false illness; later it becomes a real illness. A stone grows in the kidney for a while, a stone grows in the stomach for a while, a little stone grows on the foot... If a tumor grows on the neck, a tumor grows on the waist, what to do?

So I often say very earnestly, Everyone, remove the cancer personality. Do you know what a cancer personality is? A cancer personality is terrible; that thing harms people. Can you understand? So I often say, remove the cancer personality! Don't turn a false illness into a real illness. The foundation of a person's life is wrong.

One day, a mother had a backache and was lying in bed. Don't listen crookedly, don't think crookedly, who are we talking about? It has nothing to do with you, don't talk nonsense, don't like to gossip. This mother had a backache, and her child came home from school, not even knowing that his mother had a backache. As a result, the mother said, You little bastard, ingrate! You can't even see your mother's backache, what's the use of raising you? What can I expect from you when I'm old? She shouted for a long time, she could talk for an hour without repeating herself, and the child was dumbfounded. Can this not be uncomfortable?

The thinking of such people is that I raised you, so I have to expect something from you. When a mother relies on her child to provide for her old age, it's over. There is a problem with the foundation. Everything that is revealed is this, and the results are not good. Living by every word that comes from the mouth of God is a system that starts with a choice from the foundation. In a person's life, why choose this way, why choose that way, it is really incomprehensible, it is just a choice. Some people give up reading Peking University and choose to become monks. Some believe in the Lord, some believe in themselves, some believe in the hospital. These are all their own choices, but actually they are all chosen when they are not very clear.

Of course, I am relatively blessed. From the time I was a child, fortune tellers said, Oh, this child is blessed. I inexplicably believed in the Lord. When I believed in the Lord, I didn't understand anything. I hadn't read Matthew, I hadn't read Genesis, I didn't understand, but I just walked into the church, and I just felt very good. If I had become a monk back then, according to my personality, wouldn't I have become a resounding monk? But I didn't choose that. You ask me why, I don't know, that's just how it happened.

So today, thank God, I have become a joyful person, and no one can take away the joy inside me, because I have seen through all things, and through the word of God, I have seen through all things. Take advantage of me, go ahead, poke me, glare at me, it's okay. The other day I met a person with scars all over his head, and he still had bloody veins. I was about to leave, and the person said, Come here... In the end, I didn't have to apologize. I saw the scars all over his head from being cut with a knife. Can we compare with him? Let's not look for trouble. I see through it; let's apologize, OK!

I rely on every word that comes from the mouth of God. Chinese Mingding Destiny is a framework, a summary. It is what I have built, and it is summarized from the words of God in the Bible. It is not to replace the word of God, but to help us know the word of God. I myself believe that, since Martin Luther's Reformation, my set of Chinese Mingding Destiny is the best and most complete. Some people say, Pastor, you are bragging again. This is not bragging; it is effective, real, and feasible. And today the foundation I am talking about is a very important part of Chinese Mingding Destiny. Every time I preach, I am actually talking about Chinese Mingding Destiny – choice.

Yesterday I chatted with a brother for a while, and he felt better. Today he texted me again and said he was fine. Everyone has the same feeling, being with me, and listening to me speak is a blessing. The uncomfortable ones feel happy after listening. But after not long, they become uncomfortable again, because they have returned to the original foundation. They come to listen again. I give you the antidote here, and you take the poison there.

God says you are very honorable, you are more important than what you do. Jesus redeemed your life with His precious blood, hoping that you know you are precious, but you say, No, I am not good, I am terrible, I was born terrible... How can you argue with that? God says, You don't need to worry, fear, or be anxious. You say, No, you solve my problem! God says, Nothing is impossible for me. You say again, That's impossible. God says, You are blessed. Your response is, No, I am not blessed. What kind of people are these! Why can't they listen to good words? Today, choose something better! Don't go back again! Some people say I can't choose, that's easy, that's a demon, and I specialize in casting out demons.

Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” (Matthew 4:1-4)

Prayer

Oh God, today open our minds. Oh God, may our brothers and sisters be able to make wise choices, choose joy, reject discomfort; choose to give, rather than receive. Lord, today give us wisdom and understanding, let us know your words, and live by your words. Oh God, today let us build on the foundation of your words, let us continue to climb in the knowledge of God's truth, let us know your words more and more. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

The background of this passage

Jesus was thirty years old. For the first thirty years, he was a carpenter at home. The Bible doesn't say how well he did. But I think he should have done a good job as a carpenter. Because in the three years that Jesus preached, no one was carrying a broken table or chair, saying, Jesus, look at what you made for our family, the warranty period hasn't expired yet, please fix it for me! There was no such thing. Instead, many people were quite disappointed, why did he stop doing it? I can't find a suitable person for carpentry work in my house. Why did Jesus go everywhere preaching the gospel, healing the sick, and casting out demons? Some people who wanted to find Jesus to do carpentry work were quite upset.

After Jesus came out, he first went to the Jordan River to be baptized, and the Holy Spirit descended on him. Jesus was then led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness. There are many places we don't understand. How was he led into the wilderness? Being filled with the Holy Spirit should have led to building a multinational enterprise, but no. After entering the wilderness, Jesus fasted and prayed for forty days and nights, and the devil came to tempt him. The words he spoke, I don't quite understand, but that's how masters compete.

The devil said, If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread. How difficult is it for God to turn stones into bread? Actually, it's not difficult at all. God can turn nothing into food. Wasn't that how manna was sent down in the wilderness? If I were Jesus fasting and praying for forty days and nights, did you see the word if? If you are the Son of God... This if is a very evil thing.

If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread. (Matthew 4:3)

If it were me, Come, let's turn it into food and eat it together; let's turn it into wine and drink it together; a little more, let this stone become roast chicken; a little more, let this stone become beef. How wonderful! But Jesus didn't do that. Later, when I read Journey to the West, I found that Tang Sanzang didn't do that either. Tang Sanzang said, Wukong, get some food for the master. Wukong went to the nearby village to get food. How wonderful it would be if Wukong could turn something into food for the master! Turn a pile of cow dung into beef with a touch. I wondered, what kind of alms collection is that? The problem is that even if it is turned into beef, it is still cow dung in essence! Jesus is very interesting; Jesus said:

Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:1-4)

This is a bit like a chicken talking to a duck. Jesus is a master, and the devil is also a master. We haven't seen through the contest between masters. That's where our problem lies. You ask me if I understand? I barely understand, that's why I'm talking to you about it! Jesus prayed and fasted for forty days and nights. Wouldn't an ordinary person become a mummy?

A rich man bet with Nasreddin: You will win if you see stars during the day. Nasreddin said, You will see stars if you don't eat for twenty days. In fact, he saw stars before twenty days. Whether Jesus saw stars, I don't know, but ordinary people would have seen stars long ago, and passed out. Jesus was alright, He lasted forty days and nights. This proves one thing: people can live without food. This saves a lot of resources!

Jesus said, “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:1-4)

The background of this passage is very interesting. I was surprised when I read this sentence after believing in the Lord for many years. There is a very interesting word here called every. Using the electronic version of the Bible to search, all that comes out is, Carefully follow all His rules and regulations, and commandments. Carefully following is not just one sentence, but every word! This confused me, and because of this sentence, I prayed earnestly, seeking God because I didn't understand.

With this seeking, God opened my mind: This every word is called a system. Chinese Mingding Destiny talks most about the two words system. As long as it is within a system, a complete system is built. A plane will be in trouble if even one part is broken, especially if it breaks down in the sky. If the pilot's head breaks down after flying into the sky, it will be even more deadly. If the driver's head breaks down, he will crash the plane into a mountain.

So this every word has a deeper meaning. So it is said that people live by God. That is to say, the matter of living is a very spiritual matter! Secondly, since it is a spiritual matter, we must understand this every word clearly. What exactly is God speaking about in every word that comes from His mouth? What Chinese Mingding Destiny is forming today speaks of the foundation of faith. What are these foundations? What are the key points? Then build it into a complete structure, which is what we do. The entire Bible speaks of blessings and curses, all of which are these things. In fact, this every word is very profound.

Explaining Spiritual Things with Spiritual Words

Why are we not living well in many things today? It is because our understanding of this matter is not enough, and we cannot explain this matter clearly. Why can't we explain it clearly? Because we have not built a system of faith according to every word. Chinese Mingding Destiny has not done this very well, but has only made a preliminary attempt. There is a sentence in 1 Corinthians: God's words are explained with spiritual words. This is my favorite sentence after studying the Bible for so many years.

For example, if you raise a child who has a habit of stealing things, this is a spiritual matter. There is a mother whose child is quite old. The teacher calls and says that the child has to be suspended from school for two weeks. Why? Because he stole someone else's underwear. This mother has known since the child was young that he has this bad habit, but she doesn't understand it. This thing is not valuable, and it is dirty, but she doesn't understand it. People look at it from a human perspective and are confused.

For example, when we see people who are uncomfortable, no one says that they are eating and drinking well and still uncomfortable. No one would say that. Usually, when I minister to people who are uncomfortable, I ask, Do you want to be uncomfortable? He says, I don't want to be uncomfortable. I ask him, Why are you uncomfortable? He says, I can't control it! For example, if a person has a headache, do you want to have a headache? No, I don't want a headache. Why do you have a headache? Someone has a stomach ache, do you want a stomach ache? No, I don't want a stomach ache, why do you have a stomach ache? I can't control it. Do you want cancer? I don't want cancer. Why do you have cancer? I tell you, explain spiritual things with spiritual words.

For example, if a child cries all day, the parents take turns holding and coaxing him. If you don't have spiritual eyes, you will think it's just a child crying. If you look at it with spiritual eyes, you will know that it is a demon! I have dealt with many children that others cannot handle, children who are very noisy. But when they come to me, I have a way! So what we see, which set of things do we use to explain the laws of things? The Bible is spiritual words, explaining spiritual things. Many churches do not use spiritual words to explain spiritual things, but explain them according to human logic systems.

The first lesson of our 101 course is that the spiritual realm is real. Living well is a spiritual matter. If the spiritual matter is not right, how can you live well? There is God and there are demons. Don't believe in the Lord for many years and then find out that the spiritual realm is real. That is so tragic! Some time ago, I prayed for a cancer patient. He was working very hard with chemotherapy. Every time I prayed with him, his strength would recover. As a result, half a month later, he said a word: Wow! So the spiritual realm is real! Today we must know that spiritual words explain spiritual things. If we look at things with spiritual eyes, many problems will be solved.

Blessings and curses are spiritual matters. Let me explain blessings and curses to you. Many churches have unclear concepts about what blessings and curses are. Blessing is that what you do is protected by God, and curse is that what you do is disturbed by demons. Knowing good and evil invites demons, self-righteousness invites demons, and stubbornness and disobedience invite demons. So some of us are experts at inviting demons. Casting out demons is not a skill. We should all become demon-casters, not demon-inviters. Why do we want everyone to change their bad habits? It's not that we need you to change, but that you need to change. Our living is a shadow of the spiritual realm, so spiritual words explain spiritual things.

When I was talking about the Book of Proverbs some time ago, I mentioned marriage. Many people asked this and that. The Apostle Paul talked about the relationship between husband and wife in the Bible as Jesus Christ and the church. Jesus Christ and the church are like the relationship between husband and wife. Many people think that the affairs of husband and wife are very important. The couple has their own reasons, and the mother-in-law has her own reasons. What should we do in the end?

I don't solve the problems of husband and wife. I bring them all to a new foundation, see through life and death, have Mingding Destiny, start climbing spiritual heights, know the spiritual world, and know the truth of God. Then there will be no problem between the couple. So I solve the problem of people's growth. We must establish a complete system and start learning to use spiritual words to explain spiritual things. Is a husband and wife quarreling spiritual? Yes, it is spiritual!

A Spiritual Person Sees Through Everything

God's words are spirit and life. When we use God's words to look at these things, don't we see through many things! How do we see through? Because the spiritual height is high. Some time ago, I ministered to a sister. This sister was very poor and had a lot of problems. I solved her spiritual height and let her learn and grow. As her spiritual height grew, she saw through many things. She seemed to have seen through many things before, but she didn't actually see through.

A spiritual person looks at problems, such as why a child cries. There are demons behind it. Why is this family like this? Why do these things happen? Many things are shadows of the spiritual realm. Can we not see through them? When people see through things, they will not be controlled by these things. If you do business, you will manage the business well, and the business will not become your control.

When spiritual people see these things are so real, we begin to pursue eternal life, stop living in this life, and see through life and death. I know that everyone can often see through things sometimes, but sometimes they can't see through them. Sometimes they are like Sun Wukong, sometimes they are practical, sometimes they are happy, and sometimes they are entangled. They just don't understand. What should we do? We must constantly build a complete system on the word of God, that is, people live by every word that comes from the mouth of God!

When we read Genesis, many people cannot understand Isaac. He asked his eldest son Esau to hunt for him, eat some game, and I will bless you. Many people who study the Bible think that Isaac is gluttonous. We must know that Isaac is a very spiritual person. He dedicated himself to God at the age of thirty. People who are willing to die for God willingly see through many things. People who see through things don't care what they eat or drink.

If you associate with me, you will find out what kind of person I am. Come! Drink some wine, order two dishes, eat what you should eat, drink what you should drink, and do what you should do. I will not be controlled by food. I don't care what you can't eat, what you can't eat, or what oil it is cooked in. Some people care about these things. Isaac ate some meat and drank some wine, is that called gluttony? In fact, people like Isaac don't care much.

Many times we don't understand. For example, Abraham's wife was taken away. I don't know what kind of green hat he would wear. Are there any of us who care about wearing a green hat? In fact, Abraham didn't care about these things at all. A spiritual person sees through everything, and doesn't care about many things at all. If you drink some wine, drink some wine, if you don't drink, you don't drink; if you have it, you have it, if you don't have it, you don't have it. You have learned the secret of everything!

I encourage everyone to start yearning to be such a person: you see through money, you see through living, you see through everything. Therefore, Isaac didn't care much when those wells were taken away. He took them back after they were taken away, and he didn't do anything. The workers came to Isaac and said, Master! We have found water in one of our wells! Isaac didn't seem to react. He wasn't very excited and said, Wow! There is water! It's like you took the university entrance examination. You were very excited when you did well, but when you didn't do well, you said, Ah! I'm going to jump off the building! You just can't see through it.

Therefore, one of our colleagues said such a sentence: Teacher! I am more and more understanding why you are like this. He didn't understand it before. He thought, what kind of person is this? Why is it that many things are different from others? It doesn't matter, right! Some people say: Look, how can you say that you want to serve if you want to serve, and you don't want to serve if you don't want to serve? Isn't that how it is! I have seen through it, what else can I say? If you also see through it in the future, you will understand me more and more! You will say: Ah! So he is such a person! If you can't see through it now, then let's wait and see!

Some people have a small shop and are fiddling with it every day. They have very short-sighted goals and their minds are full of this small shop.
