【Sermon】Serving as God's Faithful Priests

2018-11-25 6,838 Sermon

Introduction

Today's testimony was truly inspiring. I, too, used to enjoy sharing blessed testimonies. The abundance of such testimonies is beyond our imagination. Today, I will speak on Being a Faithful Priest of God. Last week, I talked about Knowing God in Understanding. If we know God, we will understand the importance of being a faithful priest.

Faithfulness is the most important quality in a person's life. The unfaithful gain nothing. Truly, there are not many Christians faithful to God today. I encourage everyone to be faithful priests before God. If you are a faithful priest of God, you will possess a distinct characteristic: God listens to your prayers.

Scripture

As Samuel grew up, the Lord was with him, and let none of his words fall to the ground. And all Israel from Dan to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established as a prophet of the Lord. And the Lord appeared again at Shiloh, for the Lord revealed himself to Samuel at Shiloh by the word of the Lord. And the word of Samuel came to all Israel. (1 Samuel 3:19-21)

When I read this passage, I was very excited and had a renewed understanding of God. God is not looking for puppets, but for a faithful priest who is full of understanding and knows God deeply. For such a priest, God will ensure that none of his words fall to the ground. I was shocked, realizing that this is the kind of God we have. When I tried to put it into practice, I discovered that God is truly amazing.

Prayer

God, may you raise us up to be your faithful priests, like Samuel. Through our service, may your glory be manifested in this era, so that this generation may clearly see that you are with us. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

A Faithful Priest, God Ensures None of Your Words Fall to the Ground

If your prayers often go unanswered, then you must earnestly desire to know God fully. Among God's priests, some are faithful, and some are not. There is King David, and there is also King Saul; there is Samuel, and there is also old Eli.

I often put this into practice. Once, a sister came to my office, saying she wanted to change jobs and asked about the salary she should ask for. I said, Three thousand five hundred. In reality, this sister had only been earning a little over two thousand before. According to the rules of job-hopping, three thousand five hundred was unlikely. But I decided to try it out, and soon enough, this sister found a job that paid three thousand five hundred. Later, several other brothers and sisters came to my office, and I made declarations, and they all got excellent jobs. Afterward, many brothers and sisters came to me, and I became hesitant to speak, especially for those who love the world, because I only declare words that align with God's heart.

There was once a sister who was truly poor, to the point where she couldn't afford to take the bus to work and had to walk for over an hour. One time, she was sitting next to me in prayer, and I declared, Your finances will be turned around! Before long, this sister changed jobs, and her financial situation greatly improved. Several years have passed, and this sister is now very wealthy.

To Be a Faithful Priest, Pay the Price

Abraham was very wealthy, and Isaac was very wealthy. Why do some people like to have Abraham and Isaac pray for them, to be blessed by them, but do not aspire to become like Abraham and Isaac themselves? Why settle for second-hand blessings? Because people do not want to pay the price. To be a faithful priest of God, you must pay the price.

To be a faithful priest of God, God will ensure that everything you say comes to pass. But some cannot afford this price, nor are they willing to pay it. There was a brother whose business was doing terribly, but he simply did not want to be a faithful priest. He liked to run around, seeking anointed pastors to pray for him, hoping that his business would turn around. However, the result was that his business did not turn around, and he continued to attend these special events.

Today, I want to tell everyone that if you are also looking for a high priest in special events, I tell you, the words declared by a faithful priest of God, God will surely fulfill. If it does not come to pass, it means it does not align with God's heart. So what are these great pastors doing? God's desire is to find a faithful priest. Do not be foolish, treating God as a tool to pursue empty things, this is fatal! God is looking for faithful priests, not those who like second-hand blessings, but those who are sons of God (absolutely not grandsons). God does not like people playing games; worship God in spirit and in truth.

A Faithful Priest, Acts According to God's Will

The Bible, in black and white, never records anyone praying for business. The Book of Samuel should be read carefully; Samuel is the faithful priest that God is looking for.

And I will raise up for myself a faithful priest, who shall do according to what is in my heart and in my mind. And I will build him a sure house, and he shall go in and out before my anointed forever. (1 Samuel 2:35)

Chapter 3 speaks of the Lord being with Samuel. Today, I am not acting according to your will, but according to God's will. Samuel was not a fake person even when he was young.

One day, Samuel was asleep when he heard a call in the night. Samuel thought it was his mentor, old Eli, calling him, but it was God calling him. After the third time, old Eli realized that it was God calling Samuel and told Samuel to listen to God's words. God said the following to Samuel:

On that day I will fulfill against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from beginning to end. And I declare to him that I am about to punish his house forever, for the iniquity that he knew, because his sons were blaspheming God, and he did not restrain them. Therefore I swear to the house of Eli that the iniquity of Eli’s house shall not be atoned for by sacrifice or offering forever. (1 Samuel 3:12-14)

Samuel did not dare to tell Eli the revelation, but later he told Eli every word. Little Samuel dared to speak the truth even when facing his boss. At first, he was afraid, but later he still told Samuel about God's judgment on Eli. It is truly amazing that a child had such courage. This was a training, even at the risk of offending his mentor, he declared God's judgment.

After declaring according to God's words, nothing happened, and his boss, old Eli, did not punish him. If you are a priest of the Lord God, start practicing speaking the truth from a young age, even if it is a declaration of judgment, do not be afraid. This is a faithful priest. Today, the brothers and sisters among us must truly understand my motivation. I hope that everyone can be like Samuel, not like old Eli. Christians are all priests of God. How many pastors are being judged by God today? I don't have that courage. I declare whatever God says. I don't need to please anyone.

Some time ago, a big businessman came with his secretary. His secretary said, Many pastors only say nice things to my boss and don't speak God's words. I admire you. You are people who dare to speak the truth. Many pastors play games, only pleasing people, not pleasing God. Today, you must be a faithful priest of God; pleasing God is very important!

If you please God, the blessings you declare will come to pass. But if you are like old Eli, your declaration will be hard to say. Can you make a choice today, no matter who you face, to be a faithful priest before God? Some pastors, when they see rich people, their condition is really not very good. Thank God, no matter who I face, I act according to God's will. God exalts us among all nations. The priest of the eternal God does not need to play games. If you like to play games, you cannot be a faithful priest.

I often habitually correct my employees' bad habit of playing games. I give them a task, knowing they won't do it, and then I call them, and they say they will do it, but in reality, they won't. Why play games? Playing games is a very serious problem; speaking the truth is a spirit of adventure. To please God, you must do so in spirit and in truth.

A brother returned from abroad with thirty million and started a company, but the company ran into big problems. His pastor then led a prayer team to pray for his business in this brother's company every day. As a result, the company completely failed. Know that God does not care about these things. Do not use God as a tool to satisfy your worldly desires. It is essential to know God in understanding. Do not use God, nor use God to do things that please people. We must see things as God sees them. Do not use God to fulfill your empty dreams.

I often receive requests, Please pray for my business, my work. Because the Bible does not record this. If you seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. If your spirit prospers, your body is healthy, and everything prospers. The truth is that if we are faithful priests of God, then whatever you do will prosper.

Exercising Faithfulness in Small Matters

Some time ago, I had a small struggle. I wanted to make our gatherings asynchronous, allowing everyone to learn at their convenience. But later, I found that there was a problem with this. It was a matter of faithfulness. Gathering is a discipline, not a matter of time, but a matter of faithfulness. In the end, we are still doing a synchronous gathering, which is an exercise of faithfulness towards our brothers and sisters.

If you need to bring a brother or sister, and you have something else going on at that time, what would you choose? Where is your faithfulness? Whether we are faithful or not depends entirely on our own choices. I know you need to take care of your family, take care of this, take care of that. But if you have committed to that time, you must keep that time. Take Sunday gatherings, for example. In nearly a thousand Sundays, which add up to more than three years, I have never missed one. Because I value God above everything else. If you cannot do this, how can you be a faithful priest?

There was a person who went up the mountain to gather firewood on the Sabbath. Maybe he had children at home, and it was really cold, and he really needed to make a fire to keep warm. Moses asked God what to do with him. God said, Stone him to death. Why is that? What I am saying today is that the Sabbath is not the key. Faithfulness is the key. Wouldn't you have prepared enough firewood the day before the Sabbath? The day before, you were playing around, and on the Sabbath, you needed to go gather firewood? (Today, the Sabbath is really not the key. If you really have to work, then go to work.)

Some brothers say that today is Sunday, and I have an appointment to discuss a business deal, so I cannot come to the gathering. Then the business deal did not work out, and they were swindled out of a large sum of money. Actually, all of these things are just God revealing the intentions of your heart, and you will see what you truly value in your heart. Do not be foolish, but understand what the will of God is.

Dealing with the Foolish Nature of the Natural Man

A fool's heart is on the left, but a wise man's heart is on the right. People who are carnal are naturally foolish. A wise man is one who has been forcibly corrected. You and I are the same. Samuel was the same. This is a battle in the mind, a struggle, yet it is the beginning of victory. We either obey our flesh or obey the Spirit of God. If we know God through our understanding, you will realize how important faithfulness is in the eyes of God.

If you do not like to deal with yourself, you will not be a good student at school, nor a good employee at work, nor a good boss as an employer. You must learn to deal with yourself. Struggle, and by all means, be victorious.

I have recognized a truth: having money is useless; having God is useful. If you are a fool, know what the will of God is. You must begin to recognize the truth of the matter. Being a faithful priest of God is by no means a disadvantage. Do you want to give up empty goals to pursue eternal life, or do you want to use God to achieve your own empty goals? A choice needs to be made.

No longer live for ourselves, but live for Jesus Christ. Because He has opened up a new and living way for us. If you only want to please people, you cannot hide it from God. Are you willing to know God? If you are willing to know God, you will no longer aim to live well in this life. Although we live out God's glory and also live very well. We must be faithful priests of God, living in God's will. A person who loves the world, indulges in the flesh, and knows good and evil cannot live well.

One day, I was driving a sister to Dream Town for a visit, and a Lamborghini parked next to us. As a result, this sister said Wow, and I also said Wow. She wow-ed at a supercar, while I wow-ed at seeing a fool.

A sister believed in the Lord among us, and I regret not dealing with her harshly. Later, after she started working, she often greatly admired the young bosses in her company, speaking of them with a face full of adoration. Later, this sister abandoned her husband, her children, her house, and many things happened. This is the pride of this life, and the result is being deceived by worldly things, ending up empty-handed.

If you are a faithful priest of God, every word you say will come true, will you still lack anything? Today, we must open our spiritual eyes, allowing God to give us wisdom and revelation, so that we may truly know Him.

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way. (Ephesians 1:17-23)

In your mind, know that God wants to exalt us above all the peoples of the world if we are faithful priests of God. Do you still envy supercars, money, houses, and entrepreneurs? Do not be foolish any longer, but understand what the will of God is. We must remove the adulterous heart from within us. Do not love both the world and God. Straddling two boats is not straddling a wall, but rather straddling a knife or a chainsaw! Do not try to be a prostitute while also trying to erect a monument. Do not let spiritual ignorance drive all the desires within us. We must understand the will of God. Know the end of adulterous priests.

Not long after I first believed in the Lord, I saw many disasters befalling some priests. Why? I asked God. God said, Because they are adulterous, wanting to love the world while also wanting to receive God's benefits. God sent a man of God to declare judgment on the house of old Eli:

Therefore the Lord, the God of Israel, declares: ‘I promised that members of your family would minister before me forever.’ But now the Lord declares: ‘Far be it from me! Those who honor me I will honor, but those who despise me will be disdained. The time is coming when I will cut short your strength and the strength of your priestly house, so that no one in your family will reach old age, and you will see distress in my dwelling. Although good will be done to Israel, no one in your family will ever reach old age. Every one of you that I do not cut off from serving at my altar I will spare only to destroy your eyes and make your heart grieve, and all your descendants will die in the prime of life. “‘And what happens to your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, will be a sign to you—they will both die on the same day. (1 Samuel 2:30-34)

Summary

This is God's judgment on all unfaithful priests and Christians. If you feel uncomfortable after hearing this, that is normal. People are naturally foolish, and when your heart is pierced by the word of God, you must renew yourself, demolish and rebuild. We are not passively receiving, but rather actively recognizing. We are not puppets, but living people.

Today, brothers and sisters, are you willing to be faithful priests of God? Many people like to talk about testimonies of blessing, but your blessing has little to do with yourself, but rather with the fact that the person ministering to you is a faithful priest. The faithful priest is the key. If you are a faithful priest, what you say will come to pass!

May God bless everyone! Amen!
