2019-05-24 9,199 First Workshop - Healing and Deliverance Filled with the Holy Spirit The Church Authority Victory Christian Laying on of Hands

Q1: What are your views on the recent China-U.S. trade war? It seems Trump is a Christian. I've seen him praying with pastors. Why is he acting this way now?

If someone is constantly proclaiming, I am a Christian! you should be wary of him as a deceiver. If he says, Look at me praying! in fact, prayer itself proves nothing. Even if he has the five words I am a Christian etched on his forehead, do not readily believe him. Why? Because people are inherently evil, and Christians are not exempt from this issue. What should we believe then? We should believe in the Word of God. Some people even think the China-U.S. trade war has something to do with Christianity; I see absolutely no connection. Anyway, it has little to do with me. I think this is a matter of politics and economics, and a reshuffling of the world order.

As Christians, we must not be tainted by this kind of thinking, assuming that because Trump is a Christian, things will be better when he is elected President of the United States. I have experienced this deeply. My former boss was a Hindu, but in the company, Christians were allowed to pray and even gather in small groups to evangelize. Later, we had a Christian big boss, but he forbade evangelism in the company. What kind of thing is he doing? Because he wanted to avoid suspicion and sacrificed his Christian identity for political gain. Therefore, I never believe that being a Christian necessarily means something will happen.

I only believe one thing: that we must be like Jesus. Did Jesus do such a thing? Did Jesus engage in a trade war? No. We believe in Jesus; we do not believe in trade wars. We do what Jesus did; we do not do what Jesus did not do.

Q2: If one's own life is still under control and not yet victorious, but still leads others in prayer with faith, will the prayer be effective?

To say that one is controlled and not victorious is problematic. Did Peter in the Bible achieve victory? No. But God gave him authority to cast out demons and heal the sick. This has little to do with whether you are victorious or not. What does it have to do with? It has to do with whether you are in Jesus Christ. In Jesus Christ, even a four-year-old child can heal the sick and cast out demons in the name of Jesus Christ. So, we must change our perspective today. We are not praying in your name; we are praying in the name of Jesus Christ. It is not because you are victorious, but because Jesus Christ has won the victory for us. Do you understand? But we must know in our thoughts and minds that we must be under the authority of the church.

If you are in a church that is not victorious, you cannot be victorious. This is a very important concept. If you are in a victorious church but only pray for yourself, this is a bad habit. If you only pray for yourself, what do you need the church for? Just play by yourself slowly, or hide in the remote mountains to cultivate yourself so that you can become holy!

The Bible does not teach this. The Bible teaches us to love one another and serve one another. God dwells in our relationships. If people are still under control, this is normal because everyone will have this or that kind of control, and so do I. Only when that day comes, when I leave this world, I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have kept the faith. In this life, people must constantly renew and improve themselves. This is important.

Q3: Please, if our own prayers are useless, is it because the demons are too evil or too many? The pastor said that when we pray in Jesus Christ, we have authority. Can we pray ourselves to cast out demons?

This question is very interesting. I am not saying that we do not need to pray ourselves. I am saying that praying by oneself is not in accordance with the Bible. Your problem is the church's problem. Your problem is shared by the brothers and sisters in the church. This is called loving one another. If we each only care about ourselves and go home to pray about our own affairs, that will not work. Why? Because you are disturbed and attacked by the devil; your problem is our problem.

But people do not want to trouble others. In fact, not wanting to trouble others is not in accordance with the Bible. We all want to handle our own affairs. That is the devil's trick, which corrupts people and corrupts the church. I say that praying by oneself is useless, meaning that it is useless to pray for oneself all day long and cultivate oneself alone. Since we want to build God's glorious church, each of us must serve one another, right? Because God dwells in our loving relationships.

Authority has nothing to do with your goodness or badness; it has to do with your motives. What are you coming to church for? If it is for cultivating yourself alone, then simply cultivate yourself well outside. If you are coming to church, let us build God's glorious church together with one heart. Your problem is the church's problem, and the church's problem is also your problem. Our Lord Jesus' problem is our problem, and our problem is also our Lord Jesus' problem. This is a matter of unity.

Q4: Is it that if we are still in weakness, we have no authority? If we have not yet understood the Bible clearly, will we have authority?

Yes, you have authority now. Authority is through faith, do you understand? You have authority now, but now your authority is not praying for yourself, and then things will be fine. Because cultivating yourself alone is not a healthy mentality. You must have a mentality of building a glorious church, and then your problems can become a grace for brothers and sisters to love one another, bear with one another, and serve one another. At the same time, you can also pray for others.

Q5: Why does the fever persist after a person is filled with the Holy Spirit, and the demons don't leave? Isn't it said that demons are elusive?

Elusive is not a term from the Bible. People often assume that healing and deliverance are instantaneous, but that's not always the case. We fought the War of Resistance against Japan for eight years. Did the Chinese have the authority to fight that war? Yes! So why did it take eight years? This is a contest of faith. Some people think that authority can replace faith, but it cannot. Authority combined with faith is what allows you to persevere until victory.

Many people also have misunderstandings, thinking that being filled with the Holy Spirit solves all problems. Does being filled with the Holy Spirit solve all problems? No, it addresses the issue of power. Understand? Being filled with the Holy Spirit doesn't replace the transformation of your mind. For example, my mother sometimes invites demons in, and after they're cast out, she invites them back again. Then the demons say to me, Your mother is terrible, calling me here for no reason, only to punish me. I feel sorry for the demons. If you're called, can't you refuse to come? Where do demons reside? They reside in the thoughts and minds of people. Therefore, you must strive for victory. Only when you are victorious will the demons leave, right? It's not that the demons leave simply because you're filled with the Holy Spirit; victory is the key!

Q6: How do you seek the Holy Spirit?

Luke 11:5-13 contains verses about seeking the Holy Spirit.

Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread; a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have no food to offer him.’ And suppose the one inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’ I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, if you keep knocking, because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need. So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” (Luke 11:5-13)

Q7: What is the laying on of hands in prayer?

Do not be superstitious about the laying on of hands in prayer. I used to think that putting my hand on someone's head and saying, In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus Christ, etc., was the laying on of hands, but it often didn't work. Later, I realized that it wasn't what we understood it to be.

Let me give you an example. Once, a sister was attacked by an evil spirit, and her leg became lame and very painful. She came to my office to find me. Usually, when people have this kind of pain, it goes away after I pray for them, but this time, it didn't get better after an hour or two. I got really anxious. I wondered what it was. This thing was too bad. Then I stood beside her, folded my arms, looked at her leg, and wondered what it was.

Then the Holy Spirit gave me a word that surprised me. The Holy Spirit revealed to me to use my finger to touch her Zusanli acupoint. I learned acupuncture when I was in elementary school, so I knew where the Zusanli point was. I pointed at it with my index finger, and in the name of Jesus Christ, I commanded the spirit of pain to leave. In ten seconds, she was completely healed. So the meaning of the laying on of hands is very rich.

So what does the laying on of hands mean? The method of laying on of hands is that you must obey the leading of the Holy Spirit. I encourage everyone to explore this matter. Is it okay to lay on hands? Yes. Why not? Our God wants us to serve, but if you are filled with worry and fear after serving, worrying about this and that, then it's better not to lay on hands. But if you truly have faith, then it is absolutely okay to lay on hands, and God will do many things to bless people through you.

I may need to explain a little more. The laying on of hands is not the key; having faith inside is the key. Don't lay on hands rigidly, understand? Jesus once smeared mud on someone's eyes with saliva, which is also a form of laying on of hands. So laying on of hands is a wonderful thing. Don't be superstitious about the traditional meaning of the laying on of hands.

There is a very famous and powerful pastor who does healing and deliverance everywhere. In his teachings, he says that not many people can be masters. For example, only he and his leaders can do healing and casting out demons; others cannot. I don't quite agree with this. It doesn't align with the Bible. If one day you go out to heal and cast out demons and are attacked by a demon, it's okay, you come and find me.

Through the laying on of hands, you must begin to practice your faith. Anything that can put your faith into practice is a very great thing. For example, Peter wanted to walk on water, and Jesus said, Okay, come try, Jesus didn't say, You presumptuous fellow.

Therefore, anyone with that passion to serve, to lay hands on people and pray for them, should do so with faith, knowing that God is with you. It's not in your name, it's in the name of our Jesus Christ. The name of our Jesus Christ is very powerful in the spiritual realm, isn't it? But you must not be someone who seeks empty fame. So what if you can do this? It's not as meaningful as building the destiny of God's glorious church. Jesus once said to the Pharisees, I do not know you. Those people include those who cast out demons in Jesus' name, right? Because they are not building the body of Jesus Christ, they are not building the church.
