Good day to all. Today, let us summarise the Book of 2 Timothy. What is the theme of 2 Timothy? To be a good soldier of Jesus Christ, to obtain the crown of glory and righteousness. As Christians, you say you believe, and I say I believe, but what exactly do you believe in? Do you truly believe? This is a question that needs a big question mark. The most common thing I have seen is Christians who are muddle-headed, knowing nothing. Ask them a question, and they are stumped. What do you believe in? I believe in Jesus; what about Jesus do you believe in? I believe that Jesus died and went to heaven, and living is like hell. This kind of thing is quite detestable.
The Goal is Victory, to Obtain the Crown
Therefore, in 2 Timothy, Paul puts forward a very interesting concept, which is that we are soldiers in the army of Jesus Christ, we are good soldiers, what should we do? We must be victorious. In fact, I tell you, it is very miserable to be defeated in this battlefield. Do you all know? If you are defeated, you have to pay compensation. See, if you are defeated, your money is robbed, many people die, you lose a lot of land, and you have to pay compensation to others. Where can you reason with that? That is the principle.
So I tell you, brothers and sisters, if you have become Christians, but you do not have the mentality of victory, and you do not have the mentality of obtaining the crown, what are you doing? Isn't it? What do you want to do? Just want to be defeated. Do you know that as a Christian, you have to oppose the devil, that is, Satan. Satan will definitely send demons to mess with you. After messing with you, will you be victorious, or what will you be? So this matter must have a clear goal.
If you look closely at those people, they have set their goal to be Cain, then just be Cain, isn't it? Sometimes they want to be Cain, sometimes they don't want to be Cain, sometimes they want to be Cain again, and sometimes they can't be Cain. You just set your goal. If you want to be a Christian, right? Then let's set a goal, to be victorious, to obtain the crown.
I tell you, it is very easy for Christians to be cursed. Do you all know? Is the curse on the Israelites deep or not? The curse on the Israelites is deep! I also feel sorry for these Israelites. You say you have become God's chosen people, you have become Israelites, but you don't do Abraham well, you don't do Isaac and Jacob well, and then you become a very bad one. What is the result? Very miserable, very miserable! Being tossed around among all nations, without even a place to settle down, how miserable!
If you are a Christian, I tell you, the portrayal of the Israelites, the history of the Israelites is a mirror for us. Think about it, why? It is because they are not victorious, it is because they do not have the ambition to be good soldiers of Jesus Christ. So later, you know what? A long time ago, we didn't really want to build a loose church, gathering a bunch of misfits as Christians, serving in the church all day long, a pile of corruption, we didn't want to do this. Now that I think back, I really thank God, how could we have thought of building a church of good soldiers of Jesus Christ in that era? You would already be secretly laughing if you had a few people coming, let alone good soldiers, forget it!
I tell everyone, when I was a student, I wanted to be a resounding good student, I really didn't want to be a wishy-washy Christian. Isn't it? When studying, everything hurts except the hair, and then you have to go to school. That nine-year compulsory education, it's not called compulsory education, it's called suffering every day, like being on the rack. Once I work, I want to be a professional, I want to be a good professional. Once I later became a manager, then I want to be a resounding manager. Isn't it? Isn't this logic very simple?
So everyone knows? Smart people want to be good soldiers. Is it better to live well as a good soldier, or not to be a good soldier? Of course, it is better to live well as a good soldier! Isn't it? Great! Victorious in every battle, victorious in every war. As for changing it to another word, fighting repeatedly after repeated defeats, it doesn't make much sense. Repeated defeats in repeated battles, it doesn't sound very good, so changing it to fighting repeatedly after repeated defeats doesn't make much sense either.
Today, brothers and sisters, say in your hearts: Okay, I want to be a good soldier of Jesus Christ. I want to obtain the crown of glory and righteousness prepared for me in eternity. I want to look forward to one day coming before Jesus Christ, looking forward to coming before Jesus Christ, and receiving glorious praise. Isn't this how you should be after becoming a Christian? Isn't it?
After becoming a Christian, you still love money. Some people love money to what extent? To the extent that they love it into cancer. To put it bluntly, I have been warning everyone for many years, don't be Christians and end up, oh my goodness, unable to defecate, unable to urinate, unable to open your mouth, all kinds of things. You think it's okay, very good, very good. Those who have tubes inserted, screaming in pain, right? Those who have cancer, undergoing chemotherapy and radiation, I tell you, they all thought it was very good before, they all thought their ideas were the same as yours before.
So brothers and sisters, if you want to be such good soldiers of Jesus Christ, let's join hands together, right? We can either run forward with our arms around each other's shoulders, or run forward hand in hand. If you don't want to be good soldiers of Jesus Christ, then you should find a church full of old women, isn't it? That's great, everyone chats very well, and they get along very well. Do you understand?
What exactly is our goal? Remember, there is not much meaning in a person living in this world. If you want to be a good soldier of Jesus Christ here, it must be a very meaningful thing, that is, there is not much meaning in this world, living is really boring, tired of living, come and be a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
Even if you get cancer and come among us and get healed, remember, I won't keep you, I don't want to keep you, isn't it? Why? What I want are good soldiers, I am selective. Don't think: I came to your church, why are there so many requirements? No, our church is like this, we want to select people. If you want to come, you still have to ask me if I want you, isn't it? If you want to come, yes, you come, screaming in pain, I serve you, that doesn't mean I want you, I only want good soldiers.
Brothers and sisters, you must know, think about this matter, let's not go halfway, go halfway, and say: I want to go back to Egypt. Then what did you come out for? It would be better for you to stay in Egypt, right? Being a slave in Egypt, doing whatever people tell you to do, that's great, right? In the world, under the hand of the devil, don't go halfway and say: I want to go back. I won't take you back, in fact, I feel sorry for Moses. If I were Moses: Who wants to go back? Go back now, don't wait until halfway, and I'm still pulling and dragging, kicking and shoving, and you still don't want to do this. Do you understand? Even if it means serving, I don't force people, okay? I don't need to kick and shove, pull and drag, I just want a group of brothers and sisters who are willing to be good soldiers of Jesus Christ.
Is the goal clear? Clear goal, clear strategy, correct method, this is my catchphrase. You need to know whether this matter has a clear goal or not? Clear goal. Is the strategy clear or not? Clear strategy. Then the method, the rest is easy.
The Qualities of a Good Soldier One: Be Strong
You will find that the Apostle Paul constantly mentions being strong in his letters, whether here or there, being strong, loving, and disciplined, these are all very important words, being strong. Where does this strength come from? It was not invented by Paul, it is the strength invented by God.
Where did the word "strong" first appear? In the Book of Joshua. This Joshua was to lead the people of Israel into the Promised Land, so today I will not read the scriptures from 2 Timothy.
After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ aide: “Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them—to the Israelites. I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates—all the Hittite country—to the Mediterranean Sea in the west. No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:1-9)
This word "strong" is linked to what? Linked to entering the Promised Land. What will happen if you are not strong? You will not be able to enter the Promised Land. You say: I have believed in Jesus, why can't I see God's promise? Today I can tell you, you are lacking something in your mind, you are lacking something in your character, it is difficult for you to obtain it.
You slowly and carefully observe, that is, to be Cain in this world, you have to be a strong Cain, if you want to be Abel, you be a strong Abel, isn't it? It's all nonsense if you do anything without being strong. In this era, most people are lying flat, isn't it? Lying flat. Why? The reason is very simple, they are not strong. I tell you, it is really a tragedy if a person is not strong. You say you finally came into this world, being a soft, mushy, weak eggplant, how can you live this life? Being a soft, mushy, weak eggplant, no one will want you even if you go on a blind date, do you understand? Thinking, who wants this weak eggplant, that weak eggplant? Isn't it?
So I have to tell you, being a soldier is really a good training. I tell you, be very, very careful. Yes, my ability is not very good, my family background is not very good, but I am still strong. With this, you have the most basic quality, do you understand? Doing things, suffering a little, being wronged a little, it doesn't matter, I am strong. So what about this Joshua? He led the people of Israel into the Promised Land. When the Israelites entered the Promised Land, they were afraid as soon as they came up, and they started to be a bit of a weak eggplant. At this time, when they were weak eggplants, in fact, don't think that Joshua is a man of great faith, he really became a weak eggplant at the critical moment. I tell you, why? There are giants in there!
I ask you, even if you are 1.8 meters tall, let's say even if you are 2 meters tall, compared to someone who is 3 meters tall, their arm is 1.5 meters long, and your arm is only 1 meter long, you haven't even hit them yet, you will hit their fist first! How can you fight this battle? There is no way to fight, you take two small knives, at most they are ten kilograms, which is already very heavy. That giant, good heavens, the spear is as high and thick as a car axle. Your knife is like what is said in novels and storytelling, the tiger's mouth on your hand is cracked, and the knife flies out with a whoosh, like Li Yuanba's hammer. How can you fight? There is no way to fight! Isn't it? Even after a hundred warriors, they still haven't seen your name.
You need not boast about sparring with the champion. You couldn't even defeat the hundredth-ranked warrior in Canaan. How could you even dream of challenging the champion? Isn't it so? You are not even the equals of Yan Liang and Wen Chou. If you were to face Guan Gong, what would happen? He would finish you off.
And what happened? Joshua stood there, his face twitching, wasn't it? Brandishing those two little knives, thinking he was showing off. But he wasn't showing off; he was afraid. God appeared to him, saying, "Joshua, do not be afraid! Be strong and courageous!"
Did Joshua die later? No. Joshua and Caleb were the ones who defeated the giants. Why? Because God was with them, God was with them. I tell you, those giants were formidable. Today, we have many unsolved mysteries, seeing those enormous stones, those statues, how were they erected, how were they made? All the work of these giants, they were so strong! So God said, "Be strong and courageous, lead my people into the promised land." But the promised land has giants! Even when facing giants, you must be strong, be strong and courageous. Giants? What's there to fear about giants? Isn't it so?
So today, brothers and sisters, don't underestimate me because I am small; I am bold! Small stature does not necessarily mean small courage; I am bold. I build a church that is a victorious, fighting elite force. Are there giants? Yes! Now I tell you, that old horse we often talk about, that is the giant hindering God's people from entering the promised land. That thing is too powerful, isn't it? Too powerful! Do you want to compare muscles? No! It's about being strong, isn't it?
You say church, which church doesn't want more people? Every church needs more people, but because of strength, we only want the strong; the timid should stay behind. So it is said that in battle, the brave prevail. We have not fought a losing battle to this day. In wisdom, we have God's wisdom; in courage, we have strength from God. To this day, we have not fought a losing battle.
I think even the angels in heaven are cheering us on, aren't they? Cheering us on, constantly cheering for our victorious battles. Why? Because God is fighting for us in front. Do you think it's really us fighting? No. For example, rushing forward, there's a giant in front, and the giant's spear on the axle shakes, oh my goodness, it even brings a gust of wind. Seeing that there are only two hundred meters left, the giant is still there, oh my goodness, it's so scary, shaking the big spear, but the Israelites still rush forward. When they get to fifty meters, they find that the giant's crotch is leaking, he's got diarrhea, flowing with liquid.
I say, don't think it's a joke; it's just not written in the Bible. He really is like a lazy donkey being harnessed, either defecating or urinating. At that moment, he just can't exert any strength, isn't it? Stomach ache. You say, when is it okay to have a stomach ache? Do you all know? Have you ever competed in having a stomach ache? Oh, I tell you, even a hero can't withstand three bouts of diarrhea. Do you think a giant can withstand diarrhea? A giant can't withstand it either.
When Joshua led the Israelites into the promised land, I tell you, there were many jokes. So brothers and sisters, your strength is not because you are powerful, but because our God is powerful, isn't it? Our God is powerful. Once God works, he gets diarrhea.
The Second Quality of an Elite Force: God's Word as the Foundation
An elite force has God's word as its foundation. What does God's word talk about? Do you all know what God's word talks about? God's word, I tell you, is the promise. We enter the promised land based on God's word; God's word is the foundation.
Being an elite force is not about building muscle; don't build muscle. There was a time when long-distance runners, it was said that a Huawei executive died from long-distance running; another one died from long-distance running. There were many such news, but now I don't know where they went; maybe they died and it wasn't reported. Then I told my colleagues that I have a good friend who practices marathons all day long, and then they asked me if he died. I said, "Not dead, don't worry."
So we Christians are not about building muscle, isn't it? Don't think that Christians build muscle, extremely developed muscles, and go in to fight the giants. No matter how developed your muscles are, you are not as developed as them, isn't it? They look like gorillas; no matter how much muscle you have, you can't beat them, isn't it? Do you know that tigers are in the mountains every day, bears, black bears, brown bears, are practicing every day, they are very powerful. One palm is at least a thousand pounds. Their foundation is good, isn't it?
So I tell you, being an elite force must be based on God's word. I often see that this person is not strong, it's quite interesting, and then, they are about to die. You see, once this person faces death, oh my goodness, the person can't do it, they tremble, they are afraid of death. Like me, who has God's word as the foundation, about to die? When the time of death arrives, no one can do anything. If the time of death has not arrived, no matter what you do, you have to come back to life, don't you think? Don't look at the small stature, I have God's word. In fact, the entire Bible is talking about this. Paul urged Timothy to read God's word well.
At that time, did God's word have the Book of James? No. Did it have 1 Peter and 2 Peter? No. At that time, even the Gospel of Matthew had not been included in the Bible, isn't it? What was that Bible? It was Genesis to Malachi. If you take the Catholic Bible, in fact, their Old Testament has a few more books.
In fact, the real Bible, if you read the Pentateuch well, then the rest will be clear. If you read Genesis well, the Pentateuch will be clear. Once the Pentateuch is clear, the entire Bible is clear, that's how it is. So the Bible that Paul spoke of to Timothy was Genesis to Malachi. Then you have to use the Book of James to argue with me, you can't argue with me. Why? The Bible that Paul spoke of is inspired by God, referring to Genesis all the way to Malachi. As for whether there are some apocryphal books inside, that do not conform to, are not in the Bible system, it is also possible.
But I tell you, we read the Old Testament in one continuous line, all the way to Revelation. Those that do not conform to the Bible system are not the Bible. So God's word is the foundation, so what does this foundation talk about? Without faith, it is impossible to please God. Understood? It's talking about faith. Like James, he didn't study well since he was a child. I think he didn't study well, and Mary was quite worried, right? The one who studied well was Jesus Christ. Then after James came out, because he didn't study well, he didn't study the Pentateuch well, he didn't understand it, so he talked nonsense.
You may not be convinced, but if you read the Book of James carefully, it's all nonsense inside. Why? One hammer here, one stick there, there is no system at all, it is nothing. Later, I severely criticized James. Jesus Christ rose from the dead, faith is what Jesus Christ often criticized the Israelites for, faith, that is to say, faith is the key.
When it came to James, he didn't study the Pentateuch well, he didn't even know what Abraham did. Abraham is the father of faith, he didn't know. Then he said faith and works go hand in hand, faith and works go hand in hand, not at all. For example, we serve a cancer patient, according to behavior, he is quite a hateful person, but his faith rises, he will be healed, do you believe it? This is very magical, it is based on God's word.
So I won't say much about this wisdom of building the church. Why is building the church so important? Because the church is a goal focused on by the entire Bible. You say elite force, the church is the army. The church is the army, you build God's glorious church in the church according to God's word, fight victoriously, and obtain the promise. So the promise is fulfilled among us, isn't it?
The Third Quality of an Elite Force: Prudence
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)
But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! (2 Timothy 3:1-4)
But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. (2 Timothy 4:5)
This prudence is also mentioned again and again in 2 Timothy, isn't it? Because Timothy, this child, is actually not that rigorous. If he were rigorous, he would have been strong long ago; if he is not rigorous, he will drift. He has understood God's word since he was a child, maybe he can memorize some of the Pentateuch, he is okay, but what does he lack? He lacks a systematic understanding of God's word. So how does he lack a systematic understanding of God's word? He is not very prudent.
So Paul is actually still thinking about this child, very concerned about this child before his death. One is strength, because Timothy is weak; one is prudence, because he is not very prudent. Seeing that this is pretty good, what's good about it? He is easily fooled. Timothy sees that this is a believer, but he doesn't know that this is a believing old woman, full of secular things, absurd things, because he is not prudent, so he is confused by what she says.
This earth is full of lies in the church, don't be surprised, the church is full of lies. The most in the church is the absurd and ignorant talk of old women, the most in the church. If you ask me about my deepest impression in these years of believing, it is the old women in the church, gossiping in piles and piles, talking about very absurd things, very absurd.
In those days, I went to the group, don't think I didn't miss a group meeting, I went every time, I went for God, this is a requirement. As a result, after going, those people in the church, you see, when they read God's word, their heads droop down, they become weak, and then when it's over, eating fruit or something, their heads become energetic, they become energetic all of a sudden, and then when they eat something, they eat here and talk there, talking about things that are not there.
Let me tell you, I detest old women; my goodness, they talk about such trivial matters. I felt so vexed then, you know, vexed. Why was I vexed? I thought, how could the church be like this? At that time, I had this idea: to build a church, choosing the best people. Finally, I had the qualification to choose, didn't I? To choose the best.
Therefore, the Word of God is very important. With the Word of God, with a system, you can see that this is a lie, that is an old woman, this is empty talk. In between, you must be careful about money. You know, many churches are doing direct selling, and they all link it to building a church. If you do direct selling, you don't buy products, but in evangelism, you buy products. He is the upline, of course, he makes money, and it benefits him when you buy products. It's extremely chaotic in terms of money.
And then what else? Youthful lusts. You say, people are quite interesting sometimes. Youthful lusts, don't think that only young people have lusts. Even in old age, there is still a childlike heart. Once, I ministered to an elderly person, over ninety years old, who was angry. Why was he angry? Because the director of the nursing home didn't ask him to sing when arranging the singing. He still had a childlike heart for singing. This is called lust. Do you hear? Lust. Youthful lusts are about being competitive, and then just coveting those things. Coveting these things harms oneself, doesn't it? It harms oneself, very miserable, very hard.
The devil's lies are everywhere. So today, everyone, please don't follow me, follow the Word of God. You must be cautious. One day, I might suddenly be possessed by a demon. Suppose one day I am possessed by a demon. Why? Youthful lusts arise, and the deception of money also comes in. I think I can live in this world for a very long time, and I need a lot of money, so I come to you. Look, you must be cautious. The face is still the face of a pastor, but the heart is no longer the heart of a pastor, it is already the heart of a demon.
So, upon seeing talk about money, whether you can follow me to do direct selling, you immediately understand. You must be cautious, this is being possessed by a demon. This pastor's flesh is no longer the pastor's heart. Bad! Don't buy products, do you hear? I say, take out your money, I'm doing direct selling for this product, and buying it is serving God, this thing can atone for sins. It's over, it's over, it's ruined.
You have to be careful, don't believe it. One day, I wake up, and you come to me: Teacher, please return the money you borrowed from me. Did I borrow it? I didn't know at the time. Why was I possessed by a demon? I didn't know, I was confused. So you must be cautious. I am reminding you today, don't borrow money in the church, don't do these messy things in the church, establish a good foundation in the church, establish a good foundation in the Word of God. Do you hear? Don't do it, the church needs God's presence the most, not money. If I don't acknowledge it, then it's bad. At that time, I didn't know, but actually, I knew everything.
The Qualities of a Good Soldier 4: A Mindset of Suffering
Didn't we say we don't need to build muscles? But you still need to have the muscles for suffering, a mindset of suffering. If you carefully examine this person in this world, there are two kingdoms in this world, one is the kingdom of the devil, and the other is the kingdom of God. If you become a good soldier of the kingdom of God, I tell you, you must be prepared to suffer for God, and you must pay the price. I ask you, did the Apostle Paul pay the price? He paid the price. Did Jesus Christ pay the price? Jesus Christ gave His life as a price to God. Do you understand? The Apostle Paul was the same.
That suffering is not the suffering of electrotherapy or chemotherapy, but the suffering for being a good soldier for the kingdom of God. Then you must begin to know that Paul mentioned the mindset of suffering several times in 2 Timothy. Otherwise, you cannot be a good soldier. When we were young, we learned, we learned the things in the textbooks, climbing snow-capped mountains and crossing grasslands, the 25,000-mile Long March. What happened later? Later, we got the opportunity to establish a new China, a mindset of suffering. Of course, people in that era really had a hope, with a mindset of suffering.
It is only right and proper for us to suffer for the Lord. Don't you want to imitate Jesus Christ? Don't you want to imitate the Apostle Paul? In this world, I tell you, the flesh will certainly persecute the spirit. Then do you still want it or not? Do you want this mindset of suffering for the Lord or not? If you don't want it, then you will suffer for something else. You either suffer for Jesus Christ, or you indulge the flesh and suffer, with no glory to be gained and no pleasure to God.
You say: Then as a Christian, I still have to suffer? I don't want to suffer. Living in this world, you either suffer for indulging the flesh, or you suffer for dealing with the flesh. Then which suffering is better? Suffering for dealing with the flesh is better. Do you understand? Suffering for dealing with the flesh. If you do not indulge the flesh, nor discern good and evil, nor love the world, you will naturally not attract these sins, will you? You will not attract these sins, those sins are without glory, that is God's wrath, that is a curse.
Therefore, do not be ashamed of the gospel. Everyone, please don't feel that the gospel is not effective just because you suffer, and then others suffer for God. Therefore, Paul suffered for the gospel, telling Timothy: Do not be ashamed of the gospel. What does that mean? Actually, Timothy had this kind of attitude in him. Therefore, because he didn't quite look like a good soldier, when Paul wrote the letter, he had to speak to the point, don't think that Timothy is your role model, Paul is your role model.
Timothy is a bit too "soft," too Timothy-like. So later, if I say, you look like a "Timothy," it means you are soft and mushy. Our mindset of suffering is so good, isn't it? You see, some time ago, we ministered to cancer patients, and sometimes we prayed all night long. Seeing brothers and sisters imitating my appearance back then, I felt very comforted, suffering for the gospel, paying the price. This price is worth paying because it pleases God.
The Qualities of a Good Soldier 5: People Must Be Fervent
You know, a person's enthusiasm is like a fire in the Greater Khingan Mountains, which can burn away our weariness and discomfort. Have you noticed that some people live a mushy life, lacking a fire inside, living without flavor, living without energy, just without that fire. Why? Because there is no glorious hope inside, is there? Without that glorious hope, they just live like that, and then continue to live like that, living very vexed lives. Do you understand?
Therefore, I think our brothers and sisters should start to ponder, why can't we overcome? Lacking enthusiasm. I am clear in my understanding, and I do everything with great enthusiasm. So you will see that I don't get tired easily. It's not that I'm not tired, how could that be? It's that the enthusiasm inside me burns away my weariness. That enthusiasm, everyone may find it hard to imagine, is full of enthusiasm, full of enthusiasm no matter what I do. This is called forgetting to eat and sleep, forgetting to eat and sleep to do things. Why? Because there is a hope of receiving a crown of glory inside. Fighting a war is about that energy, so if you learn to do things with enthusiasm inside, then the problem is extraordinary, you must learn to do things with enthusiasm.
I haven't talked about this matter of enthusiasm for a long time, so Paul told Timothy to rekindle the fire in his heart. The fire has gone out, so he is weak, so he is finished. Where did that fire go? That fire went to dating, using all the fire on dating. If you use that fire on the right things, being a good soldier of Jesus Christ, full of enthusiasm, full of enthusiasm no matter what you do, how good is that, isn't it?
Our brothers and sisters, please don't just have a little fire when you are in love, and then the rest is all in a state of extinguishing the fire. You must have a fire when you study, you must have a fire when you work, full of enthusiasm. I tell you, you will really find doing things more enjoyable than scrolling through your phone. You say, is that true or false? Why don't I have it? Because you don't have it. People must be fervent, rekindling the enthusiasm inside us, full of enthusiasm, full of hope, running forward. I can tell you, that's a life lived well, isn't it? That's a life lived so well. Enduring a little hardship, not feeling the hardship, it's normal, right? Still full of enthusiasm, no one can extinguish my enthusiasm.
This is Paul reminding Timothy. Actually, from this perspective, this young man Timothy has many problems. Then how did he become Paul's true son? There's no way, picking the tallest from among the short ones, you can only pick out a few like this. Actually, Timothy used to have enthusiasm.
The Qualities of a Good Soldier 6: Victory
We learn everything. Either you imitate Paul, you learn well, that is a victorious character. Only those who overcome can receive the crown of glory, only those who overcome can inherit the promised land, only those who overcome can please God. Then how can you overcome? Is it that you are desperately building muscles? No. Victory is a response of faith. Remember, your training of faith, you will find that the result of training faith is victory, you have a victorious mindset.
Alright, we have talked so much. This is what the Apostle Paul said: I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Unlike some people, they have not kept the faith, they have not fought the battle, they have not finished the race, they have not run far before falling into a manhole. Do you all know what a manhole is? It's that sewage ditch, the sewage pipe has a round cover on it, quite deep, for draining sewage. Falling into a manhole, and then everyone is running, not knowing that someone is in there, you are still in there, you are running in the sewer, how dirty is that, isn't it? Therefore, this victorious mindset is very important. A bit silly, running there foolishly.
I think if we don't have a victorious mindset, it's terrible. Do you know, brothers and sisters, you really need this, if you have strength, have the Word of God as your foundation, have caution, have a mindset of suffering, have a fervent enthusiasm inside, and then have a victorious mindset, you can accomplish anything you do.
Some people have labeled me: Don't look at him like that, unremarkable, but he will definitely accomplish what he wants to do. Even though these people have left the church, their evaluation of me is still quite accurate. To build a church with God's presence, you need this kind of character, you need this kind of quality.
Brothers and sisters, let's start training ourselves in this kind of quality. With this kind of quality, never give up until you overcome. Recently, I heard some pastors among us share with me, saying: Look, this brother is taking an exam, that sister is taking a certification, they used to fail every time they took the exam, but recently they finally passed a few subjects, they passed. It's hard and painful for anyone to study, it's hard work, it's paying the price, but they can afford to pay this price. Anyway, you have to pay the price to live, it's even more uncomfortable not to pay the price. Today, let's start being good soldiers of Jesus Christ, learning to be good soldiers of Jesus Christ. Amen!
May God bless everyone!
