The emphasis of the Prodigal Son's Return is not on the return itself, but on the fact that after committing many wrongdoings, the prodigal son still believes that his father is a good father. If the prodigal son does not have such faith in his father when he wants to return, he will not be able to do so.

Recently, I watched Those Things of the Ming Dynasty, which chronicles the entire process of how Zhu Yuanzhang seized power. After gaining the empire, Zhu Yuanzhang killed those meritorious officials, including his own nephews. Did Zhu Yuanzhang achieve his goals by killing so many people? No. If someone had committed many wrongdoings behind Zhu Yuanzhang's back, suffered enough and then wanted to go back to him, a problem arises: would he dare to look for Zhu Yuanzhang? He would not dare to go back to Zhu Yuanzhang at all, because going back would be like walking straight into a trap, and the outcome would not be good.

Today, everyone must understand that in ancient Chinese history, there was no concept of kinship in the struggle for power. If you offend Cao Cao and then go back to him, he will definitely kill you! No matter who you offend, there is a great risk in going back to them. This is why people value the parable of the prodigal son in the Bible so much.

How many people today are healed by God only after they have done something for Him? People who come to us with various problems are healed after we pray for them, but that is actually God's healing. They have not done anything for God at all.

Why does God heal them? On what basis does God heal them? This matter fills me with emotion. Many people around me have been healed by pastors' prayers in church, but they are unwilling to give even a tithe in return. Are they taking advantage or losing out? Later, nothing goes smoothly for them in their job search and work, and they are eventually forced to repent. After repentance, God is gracious to them again.

The path of a Christian is often like this: God is gracious to him, and then he messes up; after messing up, he suffers, and after suffering enough, he turns back to God; then God is gracious to him again, and he messes up again. Such examples are numerous. The path of many Christians is like the stock market, going up and down.

Making a Smart Decision: Follow God Closely, Do Not Mess Up

In my journey as a Christian, I made a very smart decision in my heart: I must follow my God closely, I must love Him, and I will never forsake God in this life. As you read the Bible, you will discover that our God is a super good God.

Some people are very muddle-headed, often liking to judge others. Recently, as we studied the Bible, whether in Leviticus or Luke, you will see that many places mention that God's love is beyond our imagination, but people just like to mess up.

When I was in my twenties, I was still a somewhat headstrong young man. I thought I was a little smart. I said I must find a God who, first, must be capable. But is just being capable enough? People like Zhu Yuanzhang and Liu Bang, who fought for the empire, are very capable. So just being capable is not enough; He must also solve my problems.

Second, He must love me. But if He is not capable, His love for me is also helpless. If He cannot solve His own problems, how can He solve mine? It is not that I give Him something first, and then He gives to me, but that as long as I turn back to Him, He will be gracious to me.

So, after searching and searching, I chose the faith of Christ Jesus. First, because Christ Jesus loves me, He died on the cross for my sins, and redeemed me from sin. Second, He had to be capable. All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to the Lord Jesus Christ.

When I first went to church, I had not read Matthew or Luke, and I went to an English church. I had to look up every word in the Bible in a dictionary. Some of the songs in the church sang that God calls us His friends. Who am I that Jesus Christ would accept me as His friend?

Ah, people! When one is poor and down on their luck, they very much hope to make friends with an important person. If you cannot make friends with an important person, it is difficult to find a job; if you make friends with an important person, you can get a job with just a phone call. But we do not have that kind of connection, so we get upset when things happen.

I walked into the church, and as I sang the hymns, the lyrics touched my heart. It was like a person wandering outside, suddenly returning to his home. From that day on, I decided to hold on to God tightly. I will never forsake God in this life. Among the Chinese, especially when people are very poor, not many give tithes, but I was one of them. Was it a struggle to give tithes when I was poor? It was a struggle! But I calculated the account. My God is above all the heavens and the earth, and all things in the universe belong to Him. I give back to Him what comes from the Lord. Does not everything I have come from God?

A newbie Christian did not understand very well, but my account was clear, so I decided to offer a sacrifice. In the days that followed, God's blessings were poured out upon me like opening the windows of heaven, so much so that there was no room to receive them. At that time, I was like a prodigal son who had been wandering outside for a long time, suddenly returning to the embrace of the Father. I had not done anything for Him or given Him anything, but He still showed favor to me until this day.

At that time, there was a hymn called I Have Decided, which was an English hymn. I have decided to follow the Lord Jesus and never look back. Today, it is not that we have offered a lot to God, but that we have gained more from God.

Therefore, brothers and sisters, if you are a prodigal son, having suffered enough sin and bitterness in the world, living a particularly hard life, today you must know for sure that there is an extremely wealthy Father in Heaven, whose house has many hired servants, and He is not short of money. He loves us very much, and looks forward to our turning back to Him every day. Therefore, we must make a decision to follow the Heavenly Father closely for the rest of our lives.

Today, we no longer choose to live a hard life in the world, because there is plenty of food in the Heavenly Father's house. Why suffer in the world? When we want to return to the Heavenly Father, we need to repent. In the past, we have not only offended Heaven, but also offended God. Although we are not worthy to be called God's children, God has not abandoned us to this day, and still treats us as His children.

Whenever I mention such things, I can feel the length, breadth, depth, and height of God's love in my heart. His love exceeds all that I ask or imagine. In the Old Testament Bible, it is mentioned that if you turn back to me, I will turn to you. Our Heavenly Father is such a Father. Whenever we turn back to Him, He turns to us, instead of killing us.

Today, as long as we are willing to submit to God and understand the length, breadth, depth and height of His love, we will lack nothing in life if we have God! Brothers and sisters, learn to let go of the things that once caused us pain. Before, we clung tightly to the world, but the world pricked us with thorns, piercing our hearts with pain.

When I first believed in the Lord, I was determined to give up everything to follow God, because there is no one better than God! Today, if you have suffered enough bitterness and sin, then make a smart decision. Know that there is a Heavenly Father who loves us very much. He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, who died for us while we were still sinners, and died on the cross, bleeding and sacrificing Himself to redeem us from sin. There is nothing better than this!

If you have not suffered enough, you will continue to be pierced by toil in this world. But if you have suffered enough, choose to turn back to God. Therefore, we should no longer love the world, because this world pierces us with sorrow. Now we must choose to love God alone!

Scripture: Luke 15:11-32

Jesus continued: “There was a man who had two sons. The younger one said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of the estate.’ So he divided his property between them. “Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set of for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need. So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything. “When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ So he got up and went to his father. “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Prayer

God, we have once been far away from you, forsaken you, and offended you, but today we want to turn back to you. Lord, we have suffered enough in this world, and have had enough sin. Today, we turn back to you. We are unworthy to be your children in your presence. May you accept us. God, you have endless love. May you accept our return and show us favor again.

Lord, today we want to say in your presence, how great is your love. May it inspire us today, because of your love, to keep running forward, to keep experiencing your promises and faithfulness in you. When we are far away from you, you guide us home again.

Let us glorify your holy name in our days on earth, and let us have the wisdom to see everything in the world clearly. Lord, since you are so gracious to us, we are willing to give up everything to follow you today. This world is no longer important to us. We have given up everything to follow you, and we are attracted by your love. Let the world have nothing in us.

Nothing in the World Is What We are Entitled To

This passage mentions that the younger son said to his father, Father, give me my share of the estate! before the father had passed away. In fact, we feel that this is a very strange thing. What is yours by right? Nothing is yours by right!

In today's laws, as long as a person has not died, everything belongs to him. If he dies, he can write a will and give the things to his children or other people. But today, the phenomenon of children coveting their parents' property is quite common. Among my colleagues, their relatives include uncles who covet their grandmother's property, and younger brothers who covet their mother's property. Such things are simply too common.

When it comes to marriage and divorce, things related to property become even more entangled. This Father was very wise, so he decided to give the estate to his son. Actually, if I were the father, I might have said, You brat, I am not dead yet, and you are already asking for my estate!

In the end, the father really gave the estate to his son. Many TV dramas are also filmed like this. In fact, the more money is at stake when dividing family property, the more of a headache it causes. When people become wealthy, kinship becomes very weak, and all they see in their eyes is money.

When we see such a son, we feel that how could the father just give the money to him like that? You say, I will write a will and give it after I die, can't I? Yes, you can! But that is actually a very dangerous thing. You may die even sooner. He will be waiting for you to die every day, so it is better to give it to him while you are alive!

This father is very powerful and very wealthy. Because this father himself is money, He is more valuable than money. Why? Because this father is so wealthy, He is a very rich Father, and He has seen through many things in the world, just like our Heavenly Father, who is wealthy and often gives things to us.

People Who Love the World Cannot Enjoy God's Blessings

Today, it depends on whether you have the blessing to enjoy. Many people cannot enjoy this kind of blessing. God pours out a little blessing. They take that little blessing and run, and after they have had their fun, then they come back and say, God, I repent! We see that after the younger son sold the family property, he received a lot of money. He had never seen so much money before, and he was so happy.

Ah, people! If you have never seen the world, you feel that you are amazing now, and then you eat whatever you want, play whatever you want, live wildly however you want, fool around with girls or frequent brothels.... Because they do not know how to manage, the money in their pockets is quickly spent. It is very fast for a person to become poor.

Soon he spent all that he had, and then he encountered a famine in that place, and then went to work for others. People arranged for him to do a pig-feeding job, and in the end he even released himself, starving so much that he filled his stomach with the bean sprouts that the pigs ate, living on pig food every day.

Let us think about it; pig food is definitely not delicious. Pig food is a very unpalatable thing. As a result, eating pig food one day he suddenly woke up, thought of his father, and thought to himself. My father's house has so many hired workers and there is plenty to eat. If I go back to work for my father, I will not have to suffer the sin of eating pig food. I will get up and return to my father.

You must know that this son should know his father very well. At that time, his father had given him what he should not have been given. Do you think his father loved him? His father loved him very much, but the son was often muddled headed. I tell you, it is quite unlucky to raise a muddled headed son.

Do you think this father felt good? Surely not. Dad, give me my share! Alas, what share is yours? Are you out of your mind? But he felt it was his. Although the father gave it to him, he was still very sad. In the end, he left resolutely, taking the money with him; there was no kinship at all.

I tell you, this father may have said in his heart that from now on, I will sever my relationship with this son. I ask you, can he sever it? In fact, the father's heart is always concerned about him! No matter what, he is still his son.

As a result, that kid became very poor and miserable, and eating pig food made his head clear. I tell you, once a person's head is filled with money, he becomes stupid. Once you eat pig food and suffer a little bit, you wake up. Eating pig food is especially good for clearing the brain. If you don't believe me, try eating some.

I have heard people say since I was a child that people only suffer from not having the blessing of enjoying pleasure, not suffering from not having the chance to suffer! If a person has suffered enough, he will know what it is to enjoy happiness; if he has not suffered enough, he will not know how to enjoy happiness, and he will be very foolish.

Are you a muddled kid today, or a smart kid? Have you woken up? Or have you not woken up? Then it depends on your fate.

Have Faith in the Heavenly Father's Abundant Mercy

The Faith of the Prodigal Son's Return that I am talking about today is that the prodigal son knows that his Father loves him, and suddenly he wakes up. Why would my father give me things? If he does not love me, how could he give them to me? Before, I had never seen the world, and now I have seen the world, and as a result I have squandered all the money. Now I am eating pig food. If I return to my father, I will confess to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. Give me a job; I will work for you. I will work hard, okay? This son has full faith that his father will accept him.

Today, I tell you, I often experience God. Sometimes I often mess up, but God has not crushed me to death! It would be embarrassing to talk about my foolish actions. I did that again.

We see that some people are quite foolish and often say, Look at how evil this person is. Why doesn't God kill him? Why does God create such a person? Later, I told these people that if God kills those who are the worst in this world, then the second worst one becomes the worst one. Then you kill that worst one, and then another worst one comes out. Eventually, it is your turn. What happens then? You have become the worst. Today, let us not judge people, and let us not laugh at those who retreated fifty paces while we retreated a hundred.

Have you heard of laughing at those who retreated fifty paces while we retreated a hundred? When the enemy comes, whether you run fifty steps or one hundred steps, you are still people who are running away. There is really nothing to boast about! Why did God not kill the most rotten? Because God is full of abundant grace and mercy. I have messed up so much, but God has not killed me because God loves me very much, so I hold on to God tightly.

I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ So he got up and went to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. (Luke 15:18-20)

Keep a Clear Head: Knowing This is Grace We Don't Deserve

Can a mouth that eats pig slop kiss? It reeks of pigsty odour, yet the father embraces and kisses his son repeatedly. This younger son says to his father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.

This should be the mindset of each of us. Which one of us here feels worthy? If anyone among us feels they are deserving, you are a confounded fool, not yet awakened, still not fed up with pig slop.

We should all realize that we are unworthy, that this is all grace from God, and this should be our attitude. Back then, we were foolish, thinking our father should give to us. That is folly. Even if our father gave to us, could we truly enjoy that blessing?

This child, were it not for the father's repeated kisses, that confounded spirit would rise again. Thankfully, he is still clear-headed. Where lies the problem? The problem lies in whether our heads are constantly clear.

Seeing the World Means Seeing Through the Vanity of Life

Which of these things do we deserve? When we consider ourselves unworthy, God will clothe us in the finest robes, slaughter the best calf for us, and the whole family will be joyful and celebrate.

Because the younger son, after wandering about, has seen the world. A person who has not seen the world, who has not been wealthy, and does not know the taste of wealth, who has not eaten or drunk, does not know the flavour of life.

Let us look at Solomon, who was extraordinary. He built palaces in his time. About three thousand years ago, when China was still in the Shang Dynasty, Solomon lived an extremely extravagant life. You may not understand: God, why did you let him live such a lavish life? God wanted Solomon to see the world. Solomon was constantly busy with selecting colours and wood, thinking about what to put here and how to arrange that. Solomon had a great time.

I tell you all that living in a house is not fun; decorating and designing a house is. After living in it for a while, it becomes less interesting. Solomon had seen the world. God also let David, Isaac, and Jacob see the world. The most terrible thing is for a person not to have seen the world; to become arrogant and forget who they are when they have a little money; to walk differently when they have money.

This father let his son go out into the world, risking a great deal, and God did not stop him. God hopes that after we have roamed the world, eaten enough pig slop, suffered, and seen the world, we will turn back to Him.

Thank God, though I cannot be said to be wealthy, in my heart, I feel that many things are meaningless. One lives in delusion without having seen the world, constantly thinking: what is it like to drive a big Mercedes, what is it like to drive a BMW? In fact, after driving them, there is no feeling at all. Nothing much, just bigger wheels, a bigger space, more comfortable, and what is next after comfort?

In truth, think about it: people only sleep in a two-square-meter space. People who have seen the world do not care much about food. For example, Warren Buffett just buys a hamburger and has a coffee at Starbucks. He is so simple. Some people who have not seen the world care a lot about food. For example, eating noodles for 9 yuan and 18 yuan is about the same, but people are willing to choose the 18 yuan bowl, which is quite pointless.

I have not seen too much of the world and am not too interested in these things—eating, drinking, and having fun. I do not partake in any of that. Someone asked me: what are your hobbies? I have no hobbies. I cannot quite understand playing mahjong or golf. When playing golf, wearing a hat in the sun, preparing a set of clothing, and walking on the grass—what is the point? You may think I am a bit unrefined, but you know my inner world is full of enjoyment.

Donald Trump often goes golfing because he lost the presidential election and feels sad, often wearing a long face, but can playing golf bring him joy? Inner joy is true joy. Therefore, you must have seen the world. God is not afraid of us seeing the world; God is afraid of our minds becoming confused after seeing the world. People cannot enjoy blessings they are not meant for, but they can endure any hardship.

There is a joke about a mother who went abroad to see her child, and the child took her out to see the sights. They saw many people queuing up and asked her son: what are those people queuing up for? He said: that's Starbucks, a place to drink coffee. The old woman said: aren't they crazy? How much suffering have they endured? Because coffee is bitter, she thought that foreigners' happiness came from enduring more suffering and drinking more coffee.

From a young age, many things about me were different from other children. For example, I saw adults drinking beer, and when I tasted a bit, I wondered why people loved to drink that stuff. But people just love to drink it. My point is that God really does not care much about the world we see. Solomon saw the world and found it to be vanity of vanities.

The faith of Jesus Christ is built on the idea that life is but vanity of vanities, and so is building palaces for oneself. Solomon later discovered that serving God was the only thing with hope. Our duty is to fear God, because God will judge every deed, whether good or evil.

Returning to the father, when he saw his son returning, having eaten enough pig slop, he was actually very happy. This is called lost and found! Would this son say to his father: Dad, give me my share. The father would say to his son: silly child, the share you wanted I already gave you, but if you want another share, I will still give it to you. Even if you sell everything and go on another round of debauchery, it is okay. If you have not had enough pig slop, go out and see the world again.

Some people do go out to live profligately and eat pig slop, then come back to ask for their share, and after getting it, continue to go out to live profligately and eat pig slop, and then come back to take their share. One doesn't know when they will not be able to return.

Anyway, I understand in my heart. Isn't there a song called Understand in My Heart? Though the applause rings out, I understand in my heart. People should not be arrogant or foolish. Have we had enough pig slop? I only want to enjoy God's presence in my Father's house, to be with God forever!

Is it okay to eat, drink, and be merry in the Father's house? Yes! How many hired servants and how much food is in my Father's house? We lack nothing in eating and drinking, but we lack a heart to serve.

Fear God, Put Down Everything in the World to Serve God

Let us begin today to say to God: Father, I have sinned against you and against heaven. May you receive me again. I am not worthy to be your son. Everything you have given me is grace. Although you have clothed me in the finest robes, although you have slaughtered the fattened calf for me, although you have called all the family to rejoice for my lost and found, my mind is still clear. I know that this world is but vanity of vanities. I want to serve you alone, I want to fear you alone, and I want to obtain Mingding Destiny! I know that I can no longer live for the sake of living. I want to put down everything in the world. I want to follow you. Nothing can entangle me, nothing can make me sad again. I want to love you alone, my God!

I once forsook God, but later I sought Him, and I found God. It was not because I sought that I found my God, but my God was there waiting daily for me to turn back to Him. When I turned back to Him, I tasted the goodness of heaven, tasted the goodness of God, and after experiencing all this, I have faith in God.

In fact, in the process of serving people, I know in my heart that they have not done anything for God, but God has been gracious to them. Our God has abundant grace and mercy. As long as there are ten righteous people in the city of Sodom, God will not destroy it. This is what Abraham deeply experienced and obtained God's will.

This was just a test God gave to Abraham, to see if he walked in God's will. As a result, the test showed that he truly walked in God's will. Passing the test allowed Abraham's family to willingly fear God, to carefully keep and follow His statutes and ordinances.

Those Who Cannot See Through Worldly Matters Are Spiritually Dead

If you have heard what I have said and still do not know that these are all grace, that this is not what you deserve, that the share you wanted before was not what you ought to have, that it was all given to you by God—have you seen enough of the world today, have you had enough pig slop, are you turning back to God? We no longer forsake God, no longer live that hard life.

Let us begin today to be the lost-and-found son of God, treating everything our God gives us as great grace. Although it is freely given, it is not deserved. If you have such a heart of gratitude, the sickness in your body would have healed long ago. Seeing through it is like this.

In the Bible, the elder son had not seen the world or eaten pig slop, and he ate and drank well in his father's house. Seeing his father slaughtering the calf for the younger son's return, he felt sad and said to his father: you have never slaughtered a calf for me. Silly child, these calves are all yours. You can eat them whenever you want.

People do not even know that they are living in grace and often act foolishly. Which of these two sons does God value more? It is the one who has seen the world, who has lived profligately, who has eaten enough pig slop, who has suffered enough, and who is now willing to repent and turn back to God. In God's eyes, the lost-and-found son is more precious.

The problem with many of us is that we cannot see through things. We are sad because we cannot let go. I have served many people, and when they open their mouths, it is all about work problems, all about worldly matters.

If you have not seen through all this, I think you are still spiritually dead. Begin to walk out of this today. Will we lack anything in our Father's house? Why do we value these work matters so much? It is because we feel that if something goes wrong at work, we will not be able to live. We have not eaten enough pig slop.

Therefore, today, let us begin to turn back to God, put down everything in this world, and say: God, I have sinned against you and against heaven. I am not worthy to be your son. From now on, I am willing to be a hired servant in your house. In this way, you will receive abundant grace, because what God needs is a repentant heart. Whenever we turn back to God, God will turn back to us. Repentance is turning back.

Only Those Who Repent Can Obtain the Promises and Grace of the Kingdom of Heaven

The kingdom of heaven is near, and the promises and grace of the kingdom of heaven are ours. Only those who repent can obtain them. What kind of people will turn back to God? Those who see through things. Seeing through vanity, our hearts will become extremely light. We turn back to God, and those who trust in God lack nothing. God will surely prepare the finest robes, calves, and wealth for us. Living will not be a problem at all.

I have suffered, because letting go is not easy. I shed many tears and endured much hardship. Later, I discovered that it was all because of the value system in my head. Someone created a song for me called Already Let Go. They said it was written about me, and in fact, it really was.

Some time ago, the assistant received a person who said he was looking for a church everywhere in the local area. Actually, he had been listening to my Bible study online for a long time, but because it was an online church, he was always afraid to enter the network world. In fact, the shepherding and service of the online church release God's grace and power far beyond that of a brick-and-mortar church.

What can a brick-and-mortar church do? We can imagine a church of a thousand people. Everyone goes on Sundays, you don't know the person sitting next to you, and then everyone sings a song, and then a sermon is given, and then you go home. Originally, you could rub shoulders with them, but now you can't even rub shoulders with them because you have to be a meter away, and when you see that face, it seems like you know them but you don't. What can you do? You can't do anything. That kind of entity, that kind of relationship, is a valueless relationship.

But we are in contact and shepherding every day online, understanding your problems, and carrying out prayer and service. Later, he said to the assistant: I looked for many churches, and after seeing the local brick-and-mortar churches, he said I knew that I don't need to look anymore. They are all like that.

He decided to contact the assistant, who arranged for a pastor to shepherd him. He said that the teacher's preaching was particularly good and no one preached so deeply. For me, this is a compliment, and I was very encouraged after hearing it.

Today I want to ask everyone a question: why can I preach so clearly and thoroughly? The reason is simple: I have seen through everything and have given up everything for God.

If a person cannot see through all this and is still engaged in church politics in the church—suppose a church of ten thousand people has an annual income of hundreds of millions, if you are the senior pastor, wouldn't it be very prestigious?
