【Bible Study】Isaiah 60 - God Will Glorify His Church

2019-10-18 15,843 Isaiah Faith Church Wisdom Miracles and Wonders Prayer Glory

Today, we must change a concept: that when we see idols blessing finances, we deny that the true God can bless people's finances; when we see idols performing some miracles, we deny that our God will perform miracles, or deny that our God likes to perform miracles.

But if you read the Bible carefully, you will find that all things, gold, and silver belong to our God! In fact, our God not only performs miracles, but also performs greater miracles than those idols. Think about it carefully, if idols can make people rich, can our God make people rich? In fact, our God is a God who can make people rich.

Building a Glorious Church of God

God brings these things here, do you think God wants you to consume and enjoy them? No, God brings these things here also for the name of the Lord God, and for the Holy One of the Lord, because He has glorified you. Today, everyone must begin to reject a concept: Oh, I stole God's glory. In fact, God glorified you. For example: God has performed many miracles through my hands and healed many people. Then someone came over and said: Don't steal God's glory. I said: Thank you for your reminder. What is stealing? That is God's willingness to glorify us. God is willing to share His glory with us!

All Nations Shall Come

I will tell you what will happen when God is with people. When the Canaanites encountered famine while farming, Isaac's land had a hundredfold harvest. You shall see God's blessing on the work of your hands, that is to say, God's blessing is clearly visible. If you do not see blessings on your body, and the work of your hands is not blessed, then do not tell people that God is with you. That is not called God being with you, that may be called religiousity. You think God is with you, but in fact God is not with you, you may have a strong loser complex on your body.

Begin to learn to discern, do not use faith wrongly. If you use faith wrongly and live in a loser state, and still think you are a person of faith, that kind of faith is sometimes there and sometimes not, that kind of faith is not very useful.

When God wants to manifest His glory on you, all nations shall come to your light and see your glory, because this person has the presence of God! This person is remarkable! This person has the glory of God! Isn't it? Today, the things that God does through my hands are blessed. When I bought a house, I saw the real estate agent, and I told them about my investment manager, which made them say wow. In fact, we want to give them a wow feeling, you know? Believing in the Lord should give them a wow feeling, right? You have to give people such a feeling!

When I was working in the company, what did the boss of that company say? He said: When customers come to our company, if they say wow!, you will be successful! If the glory of God shines on us today, and the people around us see it, they will say: Wow! God is with you! God is clearly with you! Because what you do has God's blessing.

For example, Isaac dug wells. The Canaanites dug wells, and could not dig out water after digging for a long time. Isaac went there and dug a few times, and water came out. It made the Canaanites very angry, but there was nothing they could do, so they snatched the well that Isaac had dug. Isaac was also very powerful, if you snatched it, you snatched it, I will bless you, and dig another one. You dig again, and they snatch it again, and if they snatch it again, I will give it to you again. You must know how many wows Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, and Abraham created in the world! That was a lot of wows! As a Christian, do you give people a wow feeling? If you often give people a wow! feeling, the glory of God is on you.

When Moses competed with the Egyptian magicians in performing miracles, he threw his staff on the ground and it turned into a snake. The Egyptian magicians also threw their staffs on the ground and they turned into snakes. Moses' snake ate all the snakes of the Egyptian magicians. Moses picked up the tail of the snake and it turned back into a staff. Our God is so powerful! Don't always feel like our God is smaller than the devil. Don't ever think that evil spirits will enter when you pray and ask for the Holy Spirit, as if our God can't even handle this little thing. When you pray, don't pray while thinking in your heart: Oh, what should I do? What should I do? That is also a kind of wow, it is wailing. Don't wail, but see the glory of God manifested on you!

You know how proud it is to be a pastor of a glorious church, to be a brother and sister of a glorious church, to be a leader of a glorious church in the process of building a church! When our brothers and sisters go out, they will give people this wow feeling. We will talk about what God is doing among us. The first time I killed a demon in seconds, all of our brothers and sisters all said wow. I said, put your hand there, then pray a sentence, and then I said, take your hand down, and that brother said it was done. Every brother and sister around me said wow. This opened a milestone in killing demons in seconds, because the glory of God shone on us.

All Sons and Daughters Shall Come

Lift up your eyes all around, and see; They all gather together, they come to you; Your sons shall come from afar, And your daughters shall be nursed at your side. Then you shall see and become radiant, And your heart shall swell with joy; Because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, The wealth of the nations shall come to you. (Isaiah 60:4-5)

You know how much people need the glory of God! When Jesus was serving in the world, do you know what kind of state that was? Jesus went all over Galilee and Naphtali, and those who were sick around him were brought to Jesus, and Jesus healed them all. The blind saw, the lame walked, and these things happened one after another, and then the name of Jesus spread throughout that place.

One day, when John the Baptist was caught in prison, he was confused. So he sent his disciples to see Jesus and said: Are you the Savior we are waiting for? Jesus' answer was very interesting: Go and tell John the things which you hear and see: The blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. (Matthew 11:4-5) Miracles and the glory of God are inseparable. When a blind man came to the Lord, people said, who cursed this blind man to be blind? Himself, or his parents? Whose sin? Jesus said, no! It is for the glory of God. Later, He made the blind man see.

Some people take a blind man, and he continues to be blind, and then he says this is for the glory of God. I don't think that is for the glory of God, because the blind man has never seen. The glory of God is to set people free, to let the oppressed be free, and to let the captives be released. So today, when people see, all gather together and come to you, your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be nursed at your side, then you shall see and become radiant. What good words! Do we want to expect our church to become such a church? There is a strong expectation in me, there is a strong emotion in me, that the glory of God will be increasingly manifested among us, so that more and more people will be released.

The people I serve are very interesting. Do you say they believe in the Lord? Actually, they believe and don't believe, but they come to me with their problems. For example, one of my classmates had one arm thick and one arm thin, and the muscles of the entire arm were atrophied. I grabbed his arm and said: Come, I will lead you to pray, you follow me to pray. He followed me to pray, and his arm returned to normal, and his strength returned to normal. Wherever he goes, he will say: Look! My arm is healed! God's name is glorified. When the classmates gather, he will tell his classmates about this miracle. How good! Isn't it? God's children will come from afar!

Today, the online church we have built is so wonderful. God's children will really come from very, very, very far away. Isn't it? It's so wonderful! I'm very well here. They don't need a visa, just come. Just buy a plane ticket or a train ticket and come. I am also hospitable. How good, isn't it? Wave after wave, do you say I'm tired? Tired, but happy, really happy!

Goods and Wealth Shall Come

I found that my God, you are so good! You are so good! Someone said to me: You have believed in the Lord for so long, why haven't you seen through the world? I can't see through it, I need these very much. Since God has promised me this way, I feel that God is really too good. Whenever I see those brothers and sisters among us who are facing financial bottlenecks, encountering difficulties in finding jobs, or facing difficulties in doing things, I say: God, may your glory come upon them. Because when the glory of God comes, goods and wealth will come.

Some people think that Jesus was very poor. They said that Jesus himself also said that the birds of the sky have nests, and the foxes have holes, but the Son of Man does not even have a place to lay his head, so Jesus was penniless. Do you say Jesus was really poor? Jesus was not poor! You have not read the Bible well, and you have not understood it. If Jesus only had two copper coins left, and they were in Judas' pocket, and Judas embezzled one copper coin today, he would be discovered tomorrow! Jesus would definitely say: Take out the copper coins and let me see? Why is there only one left? Judas, you are embezzling! I tell you, in fact, Jesus had so much money that the money bag was full, and Jesus could not see the loss of a few copper coins, he had no time to count. So Judas often embezzled.

God is the Lord of all things, and everything on earth, gold, silver, and treasures, are His. Think about how rich God is? In the Bible, Abraham was a rich man, right? Isaac was a rich man, right? Jacob was a rich man, right? Joseph was a rich man, right? Joseph not only was rich himself, but he also fed that entire generation. David was a rich man, right? David himself dedicated more than 200 tons of gold!

For anyone who has the glory of God, money is the smallest problem for him. If you are really poor, build a church full of God's glory with me, and the financial problems will be solved. I will share with you a shocking thing. Last November, we returned to Singapore from Shenzhen. Then I thought, what should I do? I searched for real estate in Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Beijing. There was a feeling in me: Hangzhou. Then I started searching, and it was really good, so I went. My classmate picked me up at the airport and said to me: If you really want to invest, then you should go to Beijing. Good heavens, I should go to Beijing? I think even if I sold my arms and legs, it would not be enough to invest! As a result, I came here and bought the property here. I bought nearly five million worth of property at once. Brother HF, Brother WC, plus us. You know what? Now the new buildings near us are opening, just recently, the opening price is 21,000 yuan per square meter, and we bought it for 12,000 yuan. This is simply sitting and collecting money! If you want to build a glorious church of God, money is the smallest problem.

All goods, wealth, and treasures of gold and silver will come to you. But you must not love money. Your heart must be devoted to God. You must be determined to build God's glorious church, and then those who admire wisdom will also come to offer gold and frankincense. Just as it is said here: A multitude of camels shall cover you, the young camels of Midian and Ephah; all those from Sheba shall come. They shall bring gold and frankincense, and shall proclaim the praise of the Lord. (Isaiah 60:6)

Do you know that many people seek wisdom? Why do I say this? Because the Queen of Sheba came to seek Solomon. The Queen of Sheba came to find Solomon. She heard in her homeland of Ethiopia that Solomon was very wise, and then she came to see for herself. As a result, she said: The report I heard in my own country of your words and your wisdom is true! However, I did not believe the reports until I came and saw with my own eyes. Indeed, not even half was told to me; your wisdom and prosperity surpass the report I heard. (1 Kings 10:6-7) That is to say, if God's light shines upon us, our church will be a very wise place. The issue of human education is a matter of wisdom. If God's glory shines upon you, even a little wisdom is enough to be envied. We must begin to learn to build God's glorious church.

Why did Solomon please David? Everyone must know: Solomon later succeeded David as king. He was not the eldest son; he was a very young son. Why was David so pleased that Solomon succeeded him as king? Because even though Solomon was young, his heart was set on building God's glorious temple. When he was with his father, David would always draw and draw, sketching the temple God had revealed to him. Only Solomon diligently discussed with his father how to build the temple. The other sons saw David and thought: What is this old man doing? What's the point of building that? Can it be eaten? Can it be drunk? As a result, David said in his heart: Forget about all of you! I will choose Solomon to inherit my throne and fulfill my wish to build God's glorious temple.

Prayers Will Be Answered

I will accept them on my altar, and I will glorify my glorious house, (Isaiah 60:7)

Build God's glorious church, and prayers will be answered. Some people build a church, but there is no presence of God because they build the church according to their own ideas. Think about it, if I want to renovate or build something and hire a contractor, you have to renovate according to my ideas, or else why would I give you money? If you don't ask me and just mess around, and after messing around, I say it's not good because it's not built according to my intentions. If we build a glorious church for God so that He may dwell among us, we must build according to God's will.

Build according to God's will, and prayers will be answered. If prayers are not answered in a place, they only say: Oh, I still believe. Believe in what? Even if you believe until you die, and believe for thousands or tens of thousands of years after you die, your prayers will still be buried there! It will not sprout or bear fruit because the church you built is not built according to God's will at all! The proportion of prayers accepted among us is very high. If the proportion of your prayers being accepted is very high, it means that we are determined to build God's glorious church like Solomon.

Foreigners Will Serve You

Foreigners shall build up your walls, and their kings shall minister to you. (Isaiah 60:10)

The meaning of some people's existence is that they have no meaning. The meaning of their existence is that they exist to serve God's chosen people. Their own existence has no meaning. Their existence is for the sake of God's people receiving grace, so God causes them to exist. If you read the Bible carefully, Joseph was a man with God's presence, so Potiphar, Joseph's master, was blessed by God because of Joseph. The existence of Potiphar actually has no meaning, and its meaning is for Joseph. Esau and Jacob are brothers; Esau must serve Jacob, and the older must serve the younger. This is what the Bible says. Later, we did not see Esau serving Jacob? Nor did he do anything? Let me tell you, Esau's existence originally had no meaning. Esau's existence is God's grace on Jacob. Some people exist because of us; their existence is for us. God arranges it this way. So today you must know that God created them in the world to glorify His church.

For the nation and kingdom that will not serve you shall perish; those nations shall be utterly laid waste. (Isaiah 60:12)

This is great grace. If you build God's glorious church, you can become like this. Many people will come to serve us because we are determined to build God's glorious church.

The children of those who afflicted you shall come bending low to you, and all who despised you shall bow down at your feet; they shall call you the City of the Lord, the Zion of the Holy One of Israel. (Isaiah 60:14)

The City of the Lord is the church of God, and the Zion of the Holy One of Israel is also the church of God. Even those who despise us will come and bow down before us because we are building God's glorious church. Therefore, do not be afraid! Reject all fear, reject all things that make us tremble. Because we are the temple of God. If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him.

You shall know that I, the Lord, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob. (Isaiah 60:16)

Look at how good everything mentioned earlier is: wealth, bowing down to you, people honoring you as great, coming to serve you, building your walls, working for you, and so on. Then you will know that the Lord is your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

Do not think that you are helping those people build the walls, being bullied, giving gifts to those people, distributing money to others, and then being plundered... living a very miserable life. There is neither glory nor the presence of God. Then you say: The Lord is my Savior. There is no faith at all. It's as if you are lying, stuttering. That won't work! If you have experienced these things, you will know that the Lord God is the answer to all our problems. If the Lord God is the answer to all our problems, shouldn't you come and serve Him and build His glorious temple? If you build God's temple and you know that God is the answer to all your problems, what will the result be?

God Replaces the Bad with the Good

Instead of bronze I will bring gold, and instead of iron I will bring silver; instead of wood, bronze, instead of stones, iron. I will make peace your governor and righteousness your ruler. (Isaiah 60:17)

The stone you hold in your hand, God will turn into iron; the iron you hold in your hand, God will turn into silver; the silver you hold in your hand, God will turn into gold. Whatever you hold in your hand becomes valuable! Don't tell me that studying the Bible is not like this, that this is virtual. Don't play grammar with me; I am not a language teacher. I don't do verbs, nouns, or virtuality. I just know that the Bible says so. The Bible describes that what you have grasped, God will replace with something better, right? This is great grace.

There Will Be No More Desolation or Destruction in the World; No More Violence Will Be Heard Within Your Borders

Violence shall no more be heard in your land, devastation or destruction within your borders; you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise. (Isaiah 60:18)

We often experience destruction in our lives because we have not built God's glorious church. If we are often subjected to violence, our money is stolen, taken away, bullied, and oppressed, and then there is desolation and destruction, there is only one reason: that is, we have not built God's glorious church. I encourage everyone to begin to know God's will. When we truly know God's will, God will return to be our glory. The Lord will manifest His glory on us. Great! Then we must also glorify God.

The Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory... Your people shall all be righteous; they shall possess the land forever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hand, that I may be glorified. (Isaiah 60:19, 21-22)

The Smallest Clan Will Increase a Thousandfold; The Weakest Nation Will Become Strong

The least one shall become a clan, and the smallest one a mighty nation; I am the Lord; in its time I will hasten it. (Isaiah 60:22)

God said to Abraham: I will make you a great nation. Don't think that God likes smallness. God likes prosperity, God likes strength, God likes flourishing. God makes the smallest clan increase a thousandfold, and the weakest nation becomes strong.

If we go back five years, how desolate our church was. I really thank God! God has brought us to this point today, which proves that the smallest clan will increase a thousandfold, and the weakest nation will become strong, right? Today, although we are not strong enough, we are much stronger than before. Then we will become stronger and stronger, and we will increase more and more. We will increase a thousandfold, right?

If we can increase a thousandfold, what a sight that would be! Today, we really must have a determination to establish an internet church. Everything on the internet is a behemoth. Tencent and QQ have hundreds of millions of users, and Alibaba has hundreds of millions of users. These are all behemoths. One day, our church will have hundreds of millions of members. Know that increasing a thousandfold is God's good will for us. Then what does God say? God says: I am the Lord; in its time I will hasten it. Therefore, let us all pray together in one heart: May God quickly accomplish His good will among us. Amen! May God manifest His glory among us.

Now everyone pray with me. I will say a sentence, and everyone say the same sentence after me:

Lord Jesus, I am determined to offer myself to build Your glorious church. I want to turn away from my own narrow-minded thoughts. Let me have a determination to seek only Your kingdom and Your righteousness, to build Your glorious church, and we will surely see what You have promised in Isaiah chapter 60. Lord Jesus, save us from all the bondage of poverty, make us richer and richer, and make us more and more prosperous, because our hearts want to build Your glorious church. You have promised us that the smallest clan will increase a thousandfold, and the weakest nation will become strong. Today, You will surely accomplish this quickly among us. Make us stronger and stronger, and make us increase more and more. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

I have some questions about the final prayer in this exposition, please forgive my nitpicking. In other Bible studies, the pastor told us not to say "Lord, please heal," as if the Lord is unwilling to heal us, but to rebuke the evil spirits in the name of Jesus. If the Lord's Prayer says "deliver us from evil," instead of directly rebuking the evil spirit, it may be said that Jesus had not yet resurrected from the dead at that time. But in the pastor's prayer, doesn't it also say "deliver us from all the bondage of poverty"? It seems that God does not want us to be rich, and does not directly rebuke the spirit of poverty. In the pastor's prayers during Bible study, I often copy them down verbatim, not to recite your prayers usually, but to be inspired by them and pray more according to God's will.

Reply: This is a matter of mindset, not wording. People can pray with any words, but what they believe in their hearts is the key!
