I. What Constitutes a "Formed System"

Concept and Significance

  1. The term "system" is neither scarce nor newly invented. Christian history once possessed systems, but these were later lost, resulting in a state of "blind men groping an elephant," leading to a loss of faith's functionality, akin to an aircraft unable to fly due to missing parts.
  2. The Chinese Mingding Doctrine aims to re-examine the Bible to form a system. With a system, there is clarity; without a system, there is vagueness or confusion.

Concrete Examples

  1. Aircraft: A complete system designed to fly, land, and safely carry passengers, not a collection of scattered materials.
  2. Automobiles, Buildings, the Internet: All are complete systems.
  3. Mathematics: A complete mathematical system.
  4. The Gospel Truth of Jesus Christ: A system, a system of Gospel truth.

Three Core Characteristics of a System

  1. Completeness: A system is not scattered material but a complete entity with interlocking parts that can achieve its objective. For example, an aircraft requires a propulsion system, aerodynamic system, engine, control system, safety system, etc., none of which can be omitted.
  2. Structure: A system possesses structure and hierarchy. For example, a building has a foundation, pillars, and reinforced concrete beams, all connected to each other.
  3. Practicality: A system must be usable, capable of solving problems, and achieving its objective. For example, a mathematical system should be able to solve mathematical problems, and a building should be habitable.
  4. The Christian faith logical system constructed by the Chinese Mingding Doctrine can effectively solve the problems of healing and deliverance, demonstrating the power of Jesus Christ's resurrection from the dead.

II. Learning is Learning a System

Consequences of Lacking a System

  1. If one is bewildered after learning, it is because a system has not been formed, leading to "blindly doing," resulting in low efficiency.
  2. A lack of system leads to mental confusion, making learning very tiring, even turning it into a curse.

The Correct Method of Learning

  1. The essence of learning is learning a system, cultivating a habit of learning, that is, learning a system.
  2. When learning trigonometry or analytic geometry, one must construct a system in the mind, understanding its purpose to clearly solve problems.
  3. The process of forming a system is "thinning the book" (grasping the core), then "thickening the book" (integrating details), thereby achieving clear understanding, making learning no longer tiring; this is called "establishing a framework, then adding details."
  4. This also applies to work and life. If one is working very hard, it is likely that a system has not been formed.

III. How to Form a System

Starting from the Classics

  1. Learning from the classics is the first step in forming a system. For example, monks read Buddhist scriptures, and traditional Chinese medicine practitioners read the "Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine."
  2. To learn the Christian faith system, one must start from the Bible. Do not only listen to sermons but not read the Bible, because sermons are not classics, which can lead to "a head full of sewage."
  3. Cultivate the habit of reading textbooks (classics) to lay a solid foundation, rather than tackling difficult problems from the start.

From Coarse to Fine

  1. Many people like to delve into details from the beginning, leading to low learning efficiency, fatigue, and procrastination. The correct approach is to first grasp the outline and overall concept, then delve into details.
  2. The overall concept of Genesis is faith. First, grasp the core, then understand the specific chapter content (such as Abraham's path of faith, the root of the problem is human unbelief).
  3. To understand the Bible, start with a rough summary. For example, Numbers is about those who can fight are counted, Exodus is about God's army coming out of Egypt, and Revelation speaks of the victorious church.
  4. Just like understanding a city, one should first understand the highways and subways and other major frameworks, rather than starting to study from small alleys, otherwise one will get lost.

From High to Low

  1. It is not difficult to look at things from a high place. For the Christian faith, it means looking at problems from God's perspective, because the Bible is written from God's perspective.
  2. Looking at this life from the height of eternity, one will find that life is short, and many things are insignificant; standing at the height of philosophy or theology to look at human life, one will find that life is actually very simple.
  3. God sees Abraham as righteous is looking from high to low; people see his faults is looking from low to high, the concepts are completely different.

From Shallow to Deep

  1. Do not always like to do difficult things, first understand the simple things. God's words are not difficult, they are clear.
  2. The most superficial truth is faith. For example, a sick person is healed by prayer because of faith, do not delve into deep scientific principles.
  3. In the learning process, stories can be interspersed to increase interest, but the core is to start with shallow truths.

From Theory to Practice

  1. From theory to practice is a key step in forming a system. The reason why many theories are not useful is that they are not systematic.
  2. Our ultimate goal of forming a system is to be like Jesus. Practice is the only criterion for testing whether a system is useful.
  3. A system that cannot solve practical problems (such as an aircraft that cannot fly after being built) indicates that there is a problem with the system. Many people only listen to sermons and do not practice, resulting in the knowledge they have learned not being able to be implemented.
  4. Rebuild on the foundation of faith. Through practice, discover that the system is becoming more and more useful. From high to low is to establish theory, but practice needs to climb from the bottom up, constantly climbing.

From Faith to Faith

  1. The original text of the Bible is "from faith to faith," that is, starting with faith and ending with faith.
  2. Whether it is a theological system or a scientific system, it starts with faith. Moving from the unknown to the known begins with faith.
  3. Faith is not difficult. People who lack faith should not think about accomplishing anything. God is looking for people of faith. Abraham pioneered the path of faith.
