【Bible Study】Esther 6 - The enemy will begin to fall before God's people!

2026-04-24 17,883 Esther

Introduction

Good morning, everyone. Let us begin our study of Esther Chapter 6, with the theme "The enemy will begin to fall before God's people." This is a very interesting matter. Do you see God? You cannot! But do you see God's work? You do.

God Controls the Minds and Thoughts of Kings

Can God control the minds and thoughts of kings? Yes! Can God control the minds and thoughts of your boss? Yes! But I find it strange that some people do not know how powerful God is, and they are afraid of this and afraid of that! If God controls things for you, it is far better than your fears, but some people just do not know how powerful God is.

Those who believe in the Lord must know that God controls the minds and thoughts of kings. If you do not believe it, look at Esther Chapter 6, where a miraculous thing happened. Therefore, Christians often encounter miraculous things in their lives, just as the song says, "Miraculous things will happen, wonderful things will be accomplished." Behind this, there is God's hand at work.

God controls people's minds and thoughts. The king could not sleep that night. Was this accidental? No! It was God who made him unable to sleep. Then he wanted to look at the historical records of the past. As a result, the eunuch randomly pulled out a volume, and it was so accurate that it recorded Mordecai saving the king's life—when two gatekeepers wanted to kill the king, Mordecai discovered it. Do you think this is a coincidence? If what was drawn was Mordecai doing something bad, or recording Haman's merits, then the trouble would be great.

But things were so coincidental, and the timing was just right: the king could not sleep, wanted to read some history, the eunuch drew that book, and turned to that page. These four things coming together were by no means accidental! So, do you see God's hand?

Christians must often encounter these "coincidences" in their lives, otherwise, how can they live? If a person does not know how powerful God is, it is a tragedy. Some people are full of fear, afraid of this and afraid of that all day long, afraid of everything except God, which is too miserable. Brothers and sisters, as Christians, you must know how powerful God is.

The son of one of our sisters took sleeping pills a few days ago. As a result, she is now being manipulated by her son, who threatens her with sleeping pills all day long: "If it doesn't work, I'll take them again." Then she thinks her son is "very powerful," but she does not know how powerful our God is. If you know how powerful God is, do you need to worry about your son taking sleeping pills?

Let us return to the Bible story. The king's next question was also a coincidence: "What reward was given to Mordecai for this?" The eunuch replied, "Nothing!" Look, how coincidental is the matter of this reward? People who have God often encounter very coincidental things in their lives. If your boss is always thinking about your merits, can you be bad? Definitely not!

God controls the minds and thoughts of kings, and also controls the minds and thoughts of your boss. That is why it is good to trust in God, because God controls everything. If you find a god and give Him chickens, ducks, fish, and fruit every day, and He may not be able to control the things you want to control, then what is the point of finding a god?

Some Christians say, "Teacher, why haven't I encountered so many coincidences?" Then you have to think about whether you have many other "coincidences"? For example, the Babylonian army is coming to attack you, the Assyrian Empire is coming to beat you, and the boss thinks of your mistakes as soon as he thinks about it. How can you live like this? However, the problem lies here: are you really God's people?

The story develops like this: Esther said, "If I perish, I perish!" Mordecai also said, "If I perish, I perish!" And then it was such a coincidence. The key to the problem lies here! What does a person live for? Selfish people are always miserable! I tell you, the Ten Commandments are very harsh. Do not argue with me.

In the past, one of our pastors had a bad relationship with her mother. Whenever she mentioned her mother, her eyebrows, eyes, nose, and mouth would all twist together, as if she had eaten a dung beetle or a stink bug. But did her mother do her wrong? No! Later, she was asked to serve another person and almost caused their depression to relapse.

I said, "You must repent! Do not be silly. If I let you serve another depressed patient, do not make them relapse again." She said, "I probably won't." I said, "Why won't you? What have you changed for the better?" If you do not see other people's noses as noses and faces as faces, then you cannot serve well.

Later, she went back to her mother's house for three days, and they had a big fight. She packed her bags and left. My heart sank: if you can pack your bags and leave your mother, would you do the same to me? Where do I have as much maternal grace as your mother? I tell everyone that honoring your parents is one of the Ten Commandments, and it is unconditional.

If you do not even honor your parents, do not expect you to be grateful to me. Forget it! No matter how much grace you give her, she will forget it all when that energy comes up, and she will not see noses as noses and faces as faces. I ask you, can this kind of unlucky person have a good life? You do not have to break all the Ten Commandments; breaking one is enough to give you a hard time.

Some people think: why is God so gracious to Mordecai, but not to me? Because you are not Mordecai, you are "Decai Mo." This is too far apart! If you observe carefully, there are many unlucky people. Why? Selfishness is a very evil thing.

According to my observation, selfishness is very difficult to change. If you encounter a selfish son, I think you should give up that idea! He is very difficult to change. So why do such coincidental things not happen to you? Examine yourself carefully, and be sure to know whether you are an evil person or a person who pleases God? The key is to be a person who pleases God.

God Also Controls the Minds and Thoughts of Enemies

I thank God that the people in our church can stay! But suddenly one day, you feel upset when you see me, and annoyed when you hear me preach, just like the sister above said: "Who wouldn't be like this when they meet my mother?" She feels that she is very reasonable, so let us not argue about this matter.

You are unhappy with me. Do you know that God is in control? Later, the people in the church were taken away one by one. But our church has an old rule: whoever wants to leave can leave! My co-workers who serve God with me are as if they have "eaten a weight and are determined," but do not think that I have to be grateful to you.

I speak very harshly. If you are willing to serve God well with me, then serve God well with me; if you are not willing, go as far as you want. Some people say, "Teacher, how can you say that?" Why can't I say that?

So our brothers and sisters must be smart people. Why be a foolish person? Why go against Abraham? You must know that those who curse Abraham will be cursed, and those who bless Abraham will be blessed.

We do not have the truth in our hands, and our inner feelings often go wrong. When our thoughts are terribly wrong, God will even use some very strange thoughts to make us, like Haman, "foolishly" walk into His arrangement. Do you think this is a coincidence?

The king knew about Mordecai's deeds the night before and wanted to give him some reward because, during this time, Mordecai had become the person whom the king delighted to honor. But Haman did not know this. He just happened to stroll in from outside, wanting to ask the king to hang Mordecai on the gallows. Was this not running into the muzzle of a gun? He came at just the right time.

The king said, "Who is in the court?" The servants said, "Haman is standing in the court." The king said, "Let him come in." So Haman came in. The king asked him, "What should be done for the man whom the king delights to honor?" Now Haman thought in his heart, "Whom would the king delight to honor more than me?"

Then Haman answered the king, "For the man whom the king delights to honor, let the royal robe be brought which the king has worn, and the horse on which the king has ridden, which has a royal crest placed on its head. Then let this robe and horse be delivered to one of the king’s most noble officials, that they may array the man whom the king delights to honor. Then parade him on horseback through the city streets, and proclaim before him: ‘Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to honor!’" (Esther 6:4-9)

How well said! I tell you, people just do not know the immensity of heaven and earth. Haman always thought that he was the person whom the king delighted to honor. I tell you, the thoughts of the king and your boss change as quickly as flipping a book!

Then the king said to Haman, "Quickly, take the robe and the horse, as you have suggested, and do so for Mordecai the Jew who sits within the king’s gate! Leave nothing undone of all that you have spoken." (Esther 6:10)

I tell you, Haman's face at that time, his nose, mouth, and eyes were all twisted together. It was really like "eating a dead dung beetle!" As a result, he had to lead the horse and dress Mordecai, and then shout in front. Mordecai sat at the gate of the court, thinking: Haman is leading the horse for me, and he is shouting for me in front! Mordecai's eyes were eyes, and his nose was a nose. He was overjoyed and felt very good.

What happened? These are all coincidences! When I tell unbelievers, they always think it is a coincidence, but they cannot create such coincidences. I wish God would let me experience His "coincidences" every day! I have one characteristic: I am not afraid of anything, except not pleasing God, so I often have to repent.

Let us not think that we are great, as if we have done a great thing for God. There is no such thing! We can only receive grace from God. I often say: God, thank you! I want to praise you! All things are in your hands. God, give me more grace and more coincidences! How good is this!

Some people wander around in front of God, living like Haman. Do you think they can be annoying? They nag God all day long: "God, look, I have done this and that for you! But why do you treat me like this? What else do you want me to do?" God will let you be Haman. What do you think? It is easy to be Haman! Some people always think they are great. We must know that God can control everything.

Everything Is as If There Is an Invisible Hand

Everything is as if there is an invisible hand in control. This thing is amazing! You will find that if God wants to destroy a person, He must first make him arrogant. This is true of people in the world, including myself. Sometimes we do something very smoothly, and we think it will be so smooth next time, but that is not the case.

Remember, do not learn those superficial things. Even if you are the president and many Christians lay hands on you to pray, you still have to think about whether what you do is from God. The key is that we must be people who please God, not people who provoke God's anger.

Looking at everything, we all feel that there is an invisible hand, as if there is a hand in the dark controlling human history. Human history is all in God's hands. It is not heroes who create history, nor is it the people who create history, but God who creates history.

God has already told us what the end of the world will look like. Now, looking at it carefully, when you see the outbreak of World War III, this world will not last for many years. Everything is in God's control. The day of the Lord Jesus' return is very near. The last trumpet will sound. When the seventh trumpet sounds, this matter will be over for us.

But while we are still living on earth, we must see through everything and not be afraid of anything, because God is there! If a person cannot see through this in his life, it is very hard. Do not think that your leader is in power. Have you not experienced many coincidences? What we do, this and that, cannot compare with what God does with a little finger. Everything is in God's control.

The economy is also in God's control. For example, Singapore and China have developed so well, and then people start to become arrogant, as if they have done something right, but that is not the case. If you have done everything right, but God makes it wrong, then it will be wrong! So I am really touched that there are not many people who truly know God's power!

Like our church, the small group leader leads the prayer on Monday, I lead the prayer on Tuesday, and I lead the Bible study on Wednesday and Friday. On Thursday and Saturday, the pastoral district leader leads the prayer. On weekends, we also have Sunday services. So I shared the situation of our church with some pastors because they felt that their service was already very hard. I said, "Stop it! The members of our church spend more time than you. What is so great about you?"

Then he said to me, "Impossible!" I said, "We do this every day!" He even said "Impossible." I think he might as well become "Mr. Impossible."

God can control everything, so brothers and sisters, do not think that spending time in Jesus Christ to grow continuously will be a loss. How can this be a loss? How good it is for those "coincidences" to happen to you! If you feel that you are losing out, saving time on God's affairs all day long, not growing, and still provoking God's anger, God will let a few unlucky "coincidences" come upon you, and that will be ruined.

Mordecai Became the Person Whom the King Delighted to Honor

God did a very great thing, that is, Mordecai suddenly became the person whom the king delighted to honor. This is amazing. As a result, all the honors that Haman had carefully arranged ultimately fell on Mordecai. When I was working before, my boss inexplicably liked me and was pleased with me. Could my work not be easy? In fact, loving God is really not a loss at all!

During that time, Mordecai, Esther, and the Jews were all on the verge of death, while Haman was at the height of his power, second only to one person and above ten thousand people, with power over the government and the public. Was he powerful enough? What was the result? Mordecai was about to come up, so we do not need to be afraid. What pressure is there?

We must adjust our mentality. Do not think that it is hard for the boss to ask me to do this and that. Do not worry, God is always in control! God will make you the person whom the boss delights to honor. How good is this! Perhaps it was not the case for a while, but there will always be a time when it is. Let us not have pressure and give all the pressure to God!

If your faith is great enough, like Mordecai, you will become the person whom the king delights to honor. Are there still people among us who are afraid of the boss? You are afraid of the boss, but you might as well be afraid of God. You fear the boss, but you might as well fear God, because God can control everything! You do not have to be afraid of competitors either. You boldly go forward. Is there not a song that sings like this? "Brother, you boldly go forward, do not look back!" There are also elder brothers, uncles, aunts, grandpas, and grandmas. Everyone, boldly go forward, do not look back!

Haman's Wife and Counselors Spoke a Spiritual Law

Mordecai returned to the king's gate, but Haman hurried home, mourning and with his head covered, and his wife scolded him: "What were you shouting on the street just now? Leading the horse for Mordecai is so embarrassing! The gallows that our family made, I think it is a bit hanging." Then his counselors also echoed: "Since you have begun to fall before Mordecai, then you are completely finished. If you are a Jew, a people of God, he cannot overcome you."

Can our brothers and sisters have such victorious faith? The enemy cannot overcome you. Whether it is your son, husband, or someone else who is threatening you, it does not matter. You have the backbone of Mordecai and Esther in you. If I perish, I perish! The enemy will begin to fall before God's people.

Look, the king's heart has changed. Yesterday he liked you very much, but now he does not like you. If you are God's enemy, then you are finished. If you are God's people, is it not very simple for God to make the king like you? This is a spiritual law.

I have fought so many spiritual battles and cast out so many demons. If there were no God, would the demons not kill me? But they cannot. We are all people who have obtained the gates of the enemy city. The enemy is under our feet. How can demons be more powerful than God? Even if all the demons are tied together, they cannot resist God's little finger! The key is whether you are God's people? If you are not God's people, but God's enemy, then what do you do?

I tell everyone again, be God's people no matter what. Look, this crisis has come. Haman has power over the government and the public and is at the height of his power. The king issued a decree to kill the Jews and rob their money. But it was so miraculously reversed because Mordecai, Esther, and these people pleased God.

People eat three meals a day and study for a master's or doctoral degree. These things cannot determine a person's destiny. God's hand determines a person's destiny. If a person does not know how to fear God and trust in God, it is the most tragic thing in his life. Do not think that your hands create all things and control your own destiny. Your destiny is not in your own hands. Otherwise, try it and see what will happen tomorrow.

Some people, including the husbands and wives of our brothers and sisters, feel that they are very powerful and that their destiny is in their own hands. As a result, they become Esau and live under a curse. We must know that the enemy will begin to fall before God's people.

You must be Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Those who bless you, God will bless them; those who curse you, God will curse them. Later, I slowly understood that it is best to be Abraham in this era. If you want to be Abraham, you have to see through some things.

We begin to make a decision in our hearts: I want to be God's people, not God's enemy; to be a person who pleases God, a person who is blessed by God, not a person who provokes God's anger. Even if the faith inside you is like a mustard seed, it will grow into a towering tree. Even if your faith is not big enough, it does not matter. It will grow little by little.

Our brothers and sisters must not think that they are very capable, but must be people who please God.

We will share this Bible study here. May God bless everyone! Amen!
