Introduction

Good day to all. Let us examine 2 John. 1 John and 2 John are remarkably similar, likely written around the same period, with minimal time difference.

The elder, to the elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth, and not only I, but also all who know the truth, (2 John 1:1)

This letter is addressed to an elect lady and her children. We have never known her name, but that is inconsequential. In reality, the things John the Elder intends to convey in the letter are not particularly related to this lady and her children but are meant for us. The theme of this chapter is Beware of the Deceiving Antichrists.

Beware of the Antichrists

We need a clearer understanding of the work of the devil, and this is not just about the present moment. From Genesis onwards, Adam and Eve, created by God, were deceived. The process of this deception is fascinating. Eve was tempted to eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and then she gave it to her husband to eat. Someone sent me a joke saying that Adam, being a man, dared not refuse. Fearing his wife's nagging, he ate it out of this fear.

He was aware of God's command, but considering his marital relationship with Eve, he chose to eat, fearing her nagging more. The devil's schemes have never changed since ancient times, even now. Later came Cain and Abel, and then Noah. Looking at Noah's family, you will find that the curse on Canaan and Ham originated within the family. Therefore, you must be cautious about relationships between people.

I rejoiced greatly to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as we were commanded by the Father. (2 John 1:4)

This means that some of these children are walking in the truth as commanded by the Father, while others are not. So, be careful. Even if they are raised in the same family, there is a variety. In my family of five siblings, each is different, which has little to do with parental education. If you have many siblings, you will strongly agree with what I am saying. For example, one of our colleagues has a mother who is very devoted to her grandmother, but his uncle still expects his grandmother to support him in everything. Even the five fingers on a hand are not the same length. Who would want five fingers of the same length? It would be frightening, like they were cut by a knife. Therefore, because of this relationship, deception arises, and this relationship is a fleshly one. With this relationship, one will indulge the flesh, and indulging the flesh is very appealing, so beware of the antichrist.

In later generations, we have taken a very peculiar path, which is to be very cautious of the antichrist. How do we be careful of the antichrist? After establishing a church of brotherly love, we find that a church of brotherly love is difficult to maintain, and such a church cannot have many members. We have such a clear understanding of this matter because we have read the Bible deeply. For example, Peter pursued numbers, and suddenly three thousand, five thousand people believed. It is unclear how many of them are elect. It is truly a mixed bag, and the entire church becomes a cafeteria. He should open a cafeteria, not a church. His interpretation of the church is a fleshly relationship, pursuing numbers and offerings, which are not what we pursue.

We neither pursue numbers nor offerings. If you offer, it is not giving grace to the church but to yourself. So be careful, if you receive everyone, the church will become a cafeteria. Making dumplings, preparing New Year's dinners—all about eating, drinking, and having fun—I used to do that too, but I have repented. We once said, indulging the flesh is not love, and compromise is not tenderness. This statement has not been mentioned for a long time. Those who have been in our church for a long time will definitely remember it, while newcomers may not have heard of it. Let me remind you again, indulging the flesh is not love. Some say that the pastor should love them in such and such a way, but I love you according to the truth, and breaking your flesh is the best love for you.

I was very anxious back then. Other churches were thriving, but our church was still small. Some pastors told me that if 20% of the church attended the monthly prayer meeting, the church would thrive. Their thriving was in terms of numbers, but even if 100% of our members attended the prayer meeting, the church did not thrive, something was just not right. In fact, the church is easily built into a club on the road to pursuing numbers. You can build a club by pursuing the growth of numbers, collecting membership fees. You can also build a cafeteria, a market, or even a society. In this way, the church becomes like that. But thank God, I still have some character, so we are still very careful until now.

John the Elder’s letter is written to the elect lady and her children. We are actually elect brothers and sisters, so we must also be careful. Building a church and pursuing numbers, ten thousand is a small church, one hundred thousand is a medium-sized church, and eight hundred thousand is a large church. Go inside and see, it's a mixed bag, and it becomes a market just to collect offerings. Even the pastor is engaged in MLM, and when he sees that brothers and sisters are in trouble, he introduces MLM products. What do you think? That really cannot be called a church. Therefore, our vision is to build a holy, united, glorious, truth-abiding, and victorious disciplined church.

Indulging the flesh is very appealing. If you build a club, indulging the flesh is definitely a good idea. Sauna, massage, and oil massage, plus multiple escorts, that's great. We are not building a club, nor are we opening a shop. If you are a store manager or manage a club, you should use the method of indulging the flesh to take care of your customers. Everyone now understands, be careful of antichrists deceiving people when building a church.

For example, in the relationship between siblings at home, do you want to love each other in the truth of Jesus Christ? This love is easily confused. The word love is the most easily confused word in the world. A mother asks her child if they are full, have had enough to drink, or have slept well—it's all this. When our sister talks to her father on the phone, as soon as she answers, I hear her dad asking these questions, and I imitate her dad with my mouth next to her. After she hangs up, we laugh. Besides saying these things, there is nothing else to say between parents and children, it directly freezes there, awkward.

Some parents tell me that their children can only talk to me, not to them, and they blame me for this? With your limited skills, you only ask about eating, drinking, and sleeping. Then you can only ask about pooping and peeing. All you care about is eating, drinking, pooping, and sleeping. How can the relationship be good? Then it's about how much money you make, either you give the children some money, or the children give you some money—fleshly things like that. So I tell you to be careful, the deceiving antichrist also talks about love.

Our church is a kicking church, not kidding. Know your purpose for being here. Of course, we don’t kick just anyone. If you don’t want to pursue the truth, what are you doing here? Someone said that the pastor should love him in such a way, and I told him that we don’t have that kind of love here. Several years ago, I met a pastor couple who cried as they talked to me, and all they talked about were sad things.

They made dumplings for the members, and the members still complained about why they didn’t make fish dumplings. The couple was very poor, how could they afford fish dumplings? I said that you made dumplings for the members? I would scold my members if they didn’t make dumplings for me. Of course, even if they brought me some Din Tai Fung buns, I wouldn’t care much, I don’t lack these things. It’s not a matter of who makes dumplings for whom, the point is that the church is not built on the foundation of loving by indulging the flesh.

Then why do many churches indulge the flesh? Because the church needs people. However, does the church need people? The church is built as the body of Jesus Christ. Everyone must be careful, how many are now building churches by indulging the flesh? I used to try it, and after trying it, I regretted it, and now I repent. After trying it, I received a deep curse, and the presence of God was lost, and a group of fleshly people came, which is not called building a church. Fortunately, I read the Bible deeply in those years. After thinking about it, I found that John the Elder had already said it. What I did at that time was not in the truth, and I cursed myself, why bother?

In the end, does the church infiltrate society, or does society infiltrate the church? The church cannot infiltrate society. Don't even think about it, it's never going to happen. The ending must be that society infiltrates the church. From the history of the church, society has always transformed the church. For example, Christianity later became the state religion of the Roman Empire. Everyone thought it was great, but the church was transformed. Because it was the state religion, people joined the church, and joining the church was the entry ticket. Can you enter the top levels of Roman management if you don't join the church? Now, some top leaders in some countries take office by swearing oaths according to the Bible, and many churches have also been infiltrated by society, participating in elections and praying for politicians. It's not that you can't pray for politicians, but as for who is elected and who is not, leave it to God!

Denying That Jesus Christ Has Come in the Flesh Is a Deceiver

For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist. (2 John 1:7)

The statement that those who do not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh are deceivers is very profound. Since John the Elder did not explain it, let me take on this challenge and explain it to everyone. The most common thing I hear when I enter the church is, That's Jesus, how many Jesuses are there on earth? We can't do it! This immediately reduces the standard of Jesus Christ's truth to the level of a three-year-old. If it were reduced to one-year-old, someone would have to help wipe their butt. Many years ago, I believed that Christians should be like Jesus. This concept did not start in the last year or two but has been around for a long time. When I said that being a Christian should be like Jesus, people laughed at me, making me want to dig a hole and crawl in. I am just a little brother, and no one listens to what I say, and this voice is still very common now.

A pastor once said that the most difficult job in the world, besides the President of the United States, is the pastor of a church. Who told him to bring all the garbage into the church, turning the church into a society, even more so than society? How can that be good? Because they pursue numbers and offerings, they spend a lot of money building churches and still owe a lot of debt. If no one offers, how can they repay the loan? This logic easily deceives people, and later many people become defaulters, running away because they cannot repay the money.

The reason things have become like this is that they do not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. The reason why it is so important that Jesus Christ came in the flesh is that Jesus Christ, like you and me, is also a fleshly person, also born from a mother's womb. Although He is filled with the Holy Spirit, He is also weak in the flesh. Therefore, He needs the filling of the Holy Spirit, and the filling of the Holy Spirit in Jesus Christ is unlimited. If Jesus needs to be filled with the Holy Spirit, we definitely need it too. If you have to say that Jesus is Jesus and we are us, then it is destroyed. When I say that I cast out demons in the name of Jesus and do this and that, and perform many miracles, some people say that I am stealing God's glory. What is mine is God's, what is God's is mine, I am one with God, is that not okay?

By cutting people off from Jesus Christ, they regard Jesus as a superman. They say that's Jesus, implying that you can't do it. How can you be like Jesus? You can only be like a ghost. What kind of talk is that? Can't I pursue being like Jesus Christ? Can't I do what Jesus can do? I choose to be like Jesus Christ, to imitate Him, with the help of the Holy Spirit. Denying that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is to destroy everything. Instantly, a series of lies come in, giving oneself many excuses to indulge the flesh and know good and evil. Let me tell you a secret: pursue imitating Jesus Christ, and many problems will disappear.

If a person is boiling like a pot inside, it means that they feel that others have let them down and taken advantage of them. Competing, comparing, and struggling in the church is definitely not like Jesus, but rather like a ghost. If you keep going like this, you will be like a ghost. At this time, if you think about what Jesus would do, Jesus teaches us to love one another. Love is patient, love is not arrogant, love does not do shameful things, does not seek its own interests. Thinking that I have to be like Jesus, that boiling, struggling feeling is immediately extinguished. Who gives you these困惑? It is the antichrist, it is a spirit.

I'll give you another secret: write on the wall, I want to be like Jesus. Every day when I think of wanting to be like Jesus, I feel very peaceful inside, it's great. The reason why people are always struggling inside is that they haven't understood this matter of living, how can they not struggle? Whether it is a mother-daughter, father-son, or mother-in-law relationship, if everyone is like Jesus, where would there be these contradictions? If a person feels uncomfortable inside, they deserve it. Who told you to pursue that? Listening to the voice of the antichrist and struggling to torment yourself, tormenting yourself into cancer or some other disease, and then asking the pastor to pray for you. Speaking of this, everyone should understand, right? Can you not suffer if you don't pursue being like Jesus?

Denying that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh means lowering the standard, saying that we can't do it. Once the standard is changed, it is destroyed. If we return to the teachings of Jesus, we must know for sure that the standard Jesus wants for disciples is very high, and that is just a disciple. Some people say, does anyone question who can do it? Have you all heard this? To follow the Lord, one must give up this and give up that, but those are all things they cannot give up. If you cannot give up, then you cannot be a disciple, at best, just a believer. Jesus Christ does not want believers. Believers are useless, you have to be a disciple. Then you say, who can do it? This sentence is difficult to say, but we often say it. We must know that to be a disciple, we must imitate Jesus Christ. How good it is to imitate Jesus Christ!

It is absurd for people to regard Jesus Christ as an angel, because angels have wings and can fly, so people think that angels seem to have greater power. This matter has been made confusing. In the Bible, Jude is the fleshly brother of Jesus Christ, and he also boasts about the power of angels. Such boasting about the power of angels is garbage. Peter also thinks that angels are powerful, which is really wrong. Jesus Christ is the Son of God, we are made in the image of God, and God wants to bring us into the Kingdom of God to be sons and daughters. Angels are just ministering spirits. This logical system is immediately different. So, there is the saying that Jesus Christ did not come in the flesh, followed by the worship of angels. They are not people, so what are they? Therefore, if you scrutinize this matter carefully, it is really fatal.

Jesus Christ came in the flesh, He can overcome, and we who have the flesh can also overcome, which is why we want to build a victorious church. The idea of angel worship is that people are flesh, and people can't do it, people can't fly because they don't have wings. Looking in the mirror all day long, seeing why they don't have hair on their face and horns on their head. Why haven't the wings grown out, and why are the shoulder blades so stiff? It's just a problem with the brain.

Loving One Another Is the Key to Distinguishing the Antichrist

I once went to drink tea with a very famous person, and this person established churches everywhere, including one in Singapore. He said that his church hired three preachers who were always fighting with each other. When you hear this, do you think there is brotherly love in this place? There is mutual killing though. He came up with a way to divide the church into three sections, creating three branch churches. If there is no brotherly love in the church, it is the antichrist who is causing trouble there. Even if you divide it into three branch churches, it will not be better, the antichrist is still causing trouble because it is a spirit. This matter gave me a deep understanding. One day I was praying at home, and suddenly there was a voice inside me called the spirit of disunity. So I began to pray for the spirit of disunity, combating the spirit of disunity, which is the strife in the church. The strife I have experienced in the church is simply an MMA arena match, fighting against the antichrist.

I started praying to strike the spirit of disunity, and suddenly I saw a giant python with three snake heads entering through the window. Its bodies were connected, and I realized that this was what the spirit of disunity looked like. My prayer became so loud that I wanted it to echo through the clouds, fortunately without disturbing the property management. It was a real battle, and all my hair stood on end. It was terrifying. But in the end, I overcame it with the help of my loving Lord.

From then on, people in the church carrying this evil spirit left one by one. Each time one left, I would dance in my office. Have you seen Trump dance? Every time an opposing party left, he would make a circle with his fingers and start shaking, it was so satisfying. After a while, another one left, and when there were not many people left, the church began to become very united. From that time on, the church began to strike a very evil spirit called the dragon. So the antichrist creates strife in the church. These people do not come to love each other, but to kill each other. This is what we call loving and killing each other, loving to the point of putting thallium in the water. That is the nature of the flesh.

Madam, I now urge you that we all love one another. And this is not a new commandment that I write to you, but that which we have had from the beginning, that we love one another. And this is love, that we walk after His commandments. This is the commandment, that, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. (2 John 1:5-6)

To build a church, you must build a church that loves one another. If you lack the love of Jesus Christ in you, be careful. I am very careful. No matter who you are, if you have an evil nature and a carnal nature in you, without even thinking about it, I will deal with you until you are released from this evil nature, because this thing hurts yourself and others. There are too many churches that lack love. A pastor from a church and I contracted COVID at about the same time. At first, he recovered before I did, but three days later he suddenly died, while I survived. Otherwise, how would I be able to speak here? Wouldn't I be a ghost speaking?

This pastor who died of COVID once wrote a long article describing how he built a church with a lot of political struggles, which he called a dragon-tiger fight. Pastors need to be responsible for building a dragon-tiger fight church, so pastors need to be careful. He said he wanted to build a church full of love, like a home full of love. This thing is too scary. Why do I see so many couples like enemies? When the old man dies, the old woman doesn't care. When an enemy dies, they have to sneak into the house to celebrate, lest people see them laughing on the outside. There is no love in the home, and it is impossible to be good by indulging the flesh. So building a church like a home, what kind of home is that? In fact, this love must be in the truth of Jesus Christ.

I used to build churches like this, full of disunity, strife, infighting, and internal friction, but I reacted quickly and knew that this could not be done. If we build such a church, let's tear it down. If we want to build it, let's build a church full of God's presence. How can a church that caters to the flesh have God's presence? It would be good if we didn't bring ghosts in. A church full of strife is definitely not right, and loving one another is the key. So whether you are a district leader, a small shepherd, or something else, you must start to measure. Loving one another is an important watershed. If you love one another in Jesus Christ, you will be full of patience, and then full of God's presence. Because we follow God's commands to keep and obey, God's most important teaching is to love God with all your heart, soul, and strength, and the second is to love your neighbor as yourself.

Now the antichrist is very common, and it's annoying to look at. God sits on His throne and looks down, and He doesn't feel good in His heart. A pastor came to me and said that he had no gift and asked me to help him minister to a cancer patient in their church. Why didn't the rich people in that church ask me to minister to them, and then donate the money to me in the end? Instead, they outsourced to me a cancer patient, claiming that it was because I had a gift. But this is not a problem of gifts, but a problem of loving one another. Later, I told him that if I were to minister to this sister, I would definitely deal with the evil habits on her body. The pastor immediately denied it, saying that this sister was very loving.

I don't believe that a very loving person would get cancer. When I started to deal with her flesh, I found that there were many things in her that were confusing. Later, I made another request to the pastor, that I would spend an hour and he would spend an hour too. But the pastor said that he didn't have time. But is this a matter of not having time? You have a child and then say you don't have time to raise him, and let him starve to death. What kind of logic is this? You have time to collect offerings, but when people need to be ministered to, you don't have time? It's because you can't pay this price. This is not called loving one another, and even more so, that kind of catering to the flesh is not called love. I am very emotional. If I were to do this outsourcing business, it would definitely be booming, but they haven't died yet, and I would die first. Loving one another is the key to distinguishing the antichrist. This is why the old John wants to emphasize it again and again.

This Love Is on the Foundation of the Truth of Jesus Christ

Why can't people love one another? I have always been puzzled by this matter. One of the foundations of the truth of Jesus Christ is that it is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. Don't think that I often say that I might as well die, and then think that I live in the flesh. If I lived in the flesh, I would be like them. It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. Everything in the flesh is useless. Some people really want to challenge me on this. What Jesus Christ did actually gave us an example. He opened up a path to glory in eternity, a path of incarnation, death, burial, enduring shame, resurrection from the dead, ascension, and sitting at the right hand of God the Father.

It is vanity of vanities for a person to live. If you don't know that it is vanity of vanities for a person to live, and you think that living is very faithful, then you will definitely be very tangled. You will be very upset if you think that someone has taken advantage of you for 20,000 yuan. If they took advantage of you for 20,000 yuan of ghost money, would you still care? You can make many stacks of cheap yellow paper with five holes punched in the middle. If a person does not recognize that living is vanity, then he cannot walk the path of Jesus Christ. If a person does not believe that it is useless in the flesh, and that it is the Spirit who gives life, then there is trouble, because this is the foundation. Some time ago, I was talking about the foundation of faith. That whole series was called foundation. All of these things must be an assumption. This assumption is called an axiom. People with an academic background know that axioms do not need to be debated.

If you don't know that it is vanity for a person to live, then go to the crematorium to see. They are cremating bodies there every day, and a box of ashes comes out in a while. One after another, one after another. After watching it, your heart will be bright. One day in the future, I will also come out from there, or maybe I won't even have a chance to go in. What is the point of living? So Jesus Christ opened up this path, which is the path of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

If people living in the flesh still have any hope for things in the flesh, then all of these are vanity, very boring. If we pursue the imperishable glory in heaven and eternity, God will reward us with eternal life. Of course, our flesh has such and such needs, and we compete with that. This is the battle within us, and we must rely on the Holy Spirit to put to death the deeds of the body.

Jesus Christ was able to do it because the Holy Spirit filled Him without limit. If we constantly pursue the filling of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit will fill us without limit, and then we will be great. Why are we not so much like Jesus? It is because the flesh is too big. We must know how to imitate the path of Jesus Christ, put to death the deeds of the body, no longer cater to the flesh, no longer love the world, and deal with the nature of discerning good and evil. A person's life cannot be bad.

It would be good if people were not afraid of death in their lives. People who are afraid of death cannot be Christians, because they are living in the flesh. But even if you are afraid of death, you have to die. How old can people live to be? Even if they live to be over a hundred, that's it. In the last ten years, their backs and legs are bent, and it is difficult to get in the car. They are deaf and blind, and some people can't defecate or eat, which is very painful. Abraham's faith was based on the foundation that a person's life is vanity. Because of this, he sought glory in eternity. This is the path that Abraham opened up. Later, Isaac offered himself up, and Jacob changed the order of his birth in order to pursue blessings in eternity. Later, Joseph was even more powerful. Therefore, everyone should know that if we are like them, many problems will be solved.

Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father. (2 John 1:3-4)

This truth is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the Word made flesh, full of grace and mercy, so we are right to imitate Him. Some people feel that they cannot imitate Him, but I want to imitate Him, and I don't argue with them. I hide in my own home and slowly imitate Him.

Do Not Receive Those Who Do Not Preach This Truth

If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. (2 John 1:10-11)

Those who do not preach this truth are deceivers and antichrists, because they are carnal and of the devil. Do not receive these people. Some people who used to come among us received earth-shattering grace among us. It is really not an exaggeration at all. There are too many examples to list one by one, but they do not accept or pass on this truth, and they also create strife in the church. It is not their own merit that they received grace from us, but because there are several people here who are like Jesus, willing to give their lives to God, serve God, and serve them in the attitude of serving God. They received grace as a result, but they think they are great. But they do not accept this kind of truth and still live in this life, and have hope in this life. I can't break their logic at all, it is very stubborn. When they leave, we all open champagne to celebrate. How could we possibly welcome those who come from outside?

So I often say do not receive those who do not receive the truth. Receiving them will fill the church with confusion, sin will enter the church, and the antichrist will also enter the church. Being partaker of this evil deed will corrupt the body of Jesus Christ. I say this very seriously. Although I do not deliberately send those people away, as the church grows and the spiritual height continues to increase, the devil will take these people away. Either the ghosts on them will be killed, and they will become a victorious people. This is what it means for the church to become clean. If you have been in other churches, you will definitely agree with what I am saying. Because the church is the body of Jesus Christ, you cannot put garbage into the church.

Don't receive such people. This is a very interesting statement. When it comes to receiving people, you must have some kind of relationship to receive them. We probably won't receive strangers who come knocking at our door. We will definitely receive people who have a relationship with us and have discussed with us privately what to do and what to say before receiving them. Many people may be troubled by this. How can you know who does not preach this doctrine? You can take your time in receiving him. Get to know him better.Don't be partaker of his evil deeds, because he comes to corrupt the church. If you help him corrupt the church, you are partaker of his evil deeds.

Jesus Christ Is Always with Us in Truth and Love

Grace, mercy, and peace will be with you from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. (2 John 1:3)

Our God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ are always with us in truth and love. This is an extremely good examination. God will surely be with an elect one, but He will not necessarily be with him all the time. Everyone must not get this wrong, I understand it very well. An elect one has a characteristic: although God is with him, if he abandons the true way and the truth, and abandons loving one another, God will not be with him. People must manage their relationship with God well, and constantly know God in their understanding, and know the truth of God. If we are knowing God's truth and our foundation is to know that many things in this world are vanity, so we pursue glory in eternity, we will love one another, and then God will always be with us.

If people forsake this way, it is useless even if they were once with God. Situations of losing God's presence are everywhere. Some people tell me that they used to cast out demons, but later they were cast out by demons. Because the truth and love for one another in them are not solid, and their core interest is not God. I have to tell you the principle: if you want to cast out demons, you must start building a victorious church. And the church must be built on the truth of Jesus Christ, which is the rock of Jesus Christ. Such a church can be called loving one another. If people leave this, casting out demons is not very effective, and in the end, they will be cast out by demons. Then they will find that the name of Jesus Christ is not very effective, and the presence of God has been ruined by them. Because he messes around. I used to do this too.

If they lose God's presence, the following situations will also occur. They will explain the phenomena in their church. If someone has cancer, they will say that this is a blessing that God has put makeup on that person. Whether it is fecal or urinary incontinence, or not being able to eat, or blindness, they are all explained as blessings from God. Is there such a blessing? Do you want some? It's just nonsense. That thing is not a blessing at all. Blessings and curses are different. Everyone should read Deuteronomy 28. What are the blessings in it? What are the curses? Can you talk nonsense about that? We had Jesus Christ in love and truth constantly with us, let me tell you, you will never lack in finances. Unlike those churches that chase after people and ask for offerings all day long, we don't do that. Because we don't lack, the brothers and sisters are blessed.

We also do not lack wisdom. I don't eat what I can't afford. If I can afford one meal a day, then I'll eat one meal. If I can't even afford one meal, then I'll eat one meal every two days, and my body will be even better and healthier. If I can't afford to live in a big house, I'll live in a small house. If I can't afford to take a car, I'll ride a bicycle. If you don't have those pursuits in life, wouldn't it be very simple? Some people ask me how do I do this and that? If we have the conditions, let's have some. If we don't have the conditions, let's forget it. So Jesus Christ is always with us in truth and love. This is a great blessing.

The children of thy elect sister greet thee. Amen. (2 John 1:13)

From this last sentence mentioned at the end of this chapter, I guess that the elect lady and her children that old John was talking about should be wealthy people. He wrote the letter in this sister's home. The letter was to this sister's older or younger sister, and the sister who received the letter was also building a church in another place.

Other Face-to-Face Meetings

Having many things to write unto you, I would not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full. (2 John 1:12)

If there are problems and need to answer questions, then have a face-to-face meeting, so you don't have to wait for him to write a letter to ask a question and then write back. In that era, a letter would take half a year to go back and forth, unlike us, where you ask me a question and I answer immediately.
