Hello, everyone! Let's dive into an amazing chapter, Genesis Chapter 14. This chapter is fantastic because its theme is: The Almighty God delivers your enemies into your hands! Can you imagine that scenario: no enemies bothering you, no one can stand infront of you, and you will win when you go into battle – that's a serious matter, isn't it? Look at the chaos in today's world: one king fights another, and then that king fights back... it's all we see and hear every day. Which country is trading with money, then later destroyed and killed? The world is in such a confusing state.

In the past thirty years, the world has been extremely turbulent, and what answers can we find? None at all. Some people rely on nuclear bombs, others on different kinds of weapons, hoping not to rely on troublemakers. But we, we rely on the Almighty God who delivers our enemies into our hands – that's amazing!

The Background of This Passage

At the time when Amraphel was king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Kedorlaomer king of Elam and Tidal king of Goyim, these kings went to war against Bera king of Sodom, Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, Shemeber king of Zeboyim, and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar). All these latter kings joined forces in the Valley of Siddim (that is, the Dead Sea Valley). For twelve years they had been subject to Kedorlaomer, but in the thirteenth year they rebelled. In the fourteenth year, Kedorlaomer and the kings allied with him went out and defeated the Rephaites in Ashteroth Karnaim, the Zuzites in Ham, the Emites in Shaveh Kiriathaim and the Horites in the hill country of Seir, as far as El Paran near the desert. Then they turned back and went to En Mishpat (that is, Kadesh), and they conquered the whole territory of the Amalekites, as well as the Amorites who were living in Hazezon Tamar. Then the king of Sodom, the king of Gomorrah, the king of Admah, the king of Zeboyim and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar) marched out and drew up their battle lines in the Valley of Siddim (Genesis 14:1-8)

This is an extremely chaotic era, filled with history. In China, we have the Spring and Autumn Period, the Warring States Period, and the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, representing tumultuous dynasties where one kingdom defeats another, continuing until now. Looking at the current world, it's a bit dizzying, similar to the era described in the Bible, where these four kings defeated five kings. We always thought that five kings should be more powerful than four, but sometimes five is less than four, and vice versa. It's really confusing in this era.

Let me provide some background for this story: Lot, Abraham's nephew, left Abraham and moved forward until he reached the city of Sodom, where he was eventually captured by King Chedorlaomer. The king of Sodom betrayed King Chedorlaomer by refusing to pay protection fees. You know what betrayal is, right? It's not paying protection money. You have to pay, give tribute, and pay taxes – all in real money. You have to work hard to pay taxes to King Chedorlaomer. But this time, I rebelled; I won't pay protection fees anymore. I'll keep the protection money for myself, but keeping it comes with a price.

You have to know, this world's logic is just like this! What is called black money? It's money that didn't come through the proper channels, and anything unclear is called black money. If King Chedorlaomer says it's not black money, then it's not; if he says it is, then it is. As a result, Lot was captured by King Chedorlaomer. Can you imagine that scene? The people of the defeated country tied together in a long rope, riding on horses while you walk underneath. Lot, Lot's wife, all captured – their lives ruined.

Actually, many people on the path to pursuing a good life, things that were initially simple become more complicated; things you wanted to make money on end up losing a lot; you wanted to buy a good house, but it traps you; you wanted to invest, but end up being trapped in the investment. If being trapped was the end, it would be okay, but some even end up owing a lot of debts. I sigh at this: people, why don't you know that the Almighty God can protect you? As a result, this matter becomes more complicated.

What were Lot and his wife thinking at this time? The Bible doesn't even bother to record or care about them. The couple thinks and does whatever they like, plays whatever games they like – just like that! Being a slave isn't a big deal! But coincidentally, someone managed to escape from there and thought of Abraham, rushed to him and said: "Bad news, my master Lot and his wife have been captured; please save them quickly!" Abraham faced a challenge: "did I tell you to pursue a good life? Did I tell you to have such a difficult destiny?" Abraham found this situation quite uncomfortable and challenging. If you were Abraham, what decision would you make? The Abraham in the Bible made a decision: to rescue them!

Abraham actually defeated the four kings. These four kings defeated the five kings, and Abraham defeated these four kings. I ask you, is Abraham powerful or not? He's powerful in this place! In the Middle East, everyone from Syria, Iraq, all the way to Egypt knows that Abraham is a master. A rumor spread: the Almighty God will deliver Abraham's enemies into Abraham's hands. How wonderful!

After Abraham rescued Lot, the king of Sodom came out. At that time, the king of Sodom hadn't been captured by King Chedorlaomer; he had escaped to the mountains. Later, he came down from the mountains to find Abraham. Abraham made a very famous decision. From then on, Abraham's name was known in this area, from the south to Egypt, north to Syria and Iraq – everyone knew Abraham was formidable.

God Protected Abram in a Chaotic Era

In a chaotic era, God preserved Abram. The Hittites, Amorites, Amalekites, and people of Sodom were all defeated by King Chedorlaomer. Why didn't he come to attack Abram? It was because God held his thoughts in His hands. How were his thoughts in God's hands? It's simple; God controls people's minds and thoughts. People are like little playthings in God's hands. God makes you think this way, and you cannot think otherwise; He makes you think otherwise, and you cannot think this way.

This story is a bit fictional, but there is a reason for it. King Chedorlaomer intended to attack Abram, leading his army towards Abram's territory. However, after marching ten miles, he stopped and thought, "Why am I doing this?" When we leave our homes, we might forget our purpose. Have you ever experienced that? You walk out of a room, intending to go to the kitchen, but once you're there, you ask yourself, "Why did I come here? What was I going to do?" You may find that your mind is not functioning properly; you've forgotten your purpose. King Chedorlaomer had similar experiences. When he thought of attacking Abram, he became confused, forgot his purpose, and wondered why he was marching in that direction.

I can tell you how I know this; the Bible has many such records. When King Jehoshaphat went to the kingdom of Israel, there were similar situations. Aram's army attacked Elisha, but they couldn't reach the little thatched cottage where Elisha lived on top of the mountain. They surrounded Elisha's cottage on three sides, but they couldn't reach him, just walking in circles. The reason is simple: God allows chaos, and how can people not be confused in chaotic times?

In another scenario, King Chedorlaomer led a highly skilled army, one of the most powerful armies in the world at that time. When he intended to attack Abram, misfortune struck. As soon as he left, his horse stumbled, and he fell off; then his chariot wheel fell off. Thunder rumbled when he continued. There was always something happening.

Have you noticed that war is a very spiritual matter? In chaotic times, it doesn't matter how chaotic the era is, whether it's the new crown or the old crown, and don't bother about decisions made by others. Everyone, please don't develop the habit of complaining and grumbling. If you were in the position of a government official, your decisions might not be better than theirs. If it's not something you should manage, don't get involved. I often receive complaints and grumblings from Christians.

We have no right to complain. Those trained by me feel they have no right to complain. If we take charge of this matter, it might not be better than when others handle it. King Chedorlaomer wanted to attack Sodom and Gomorrah. Can you say, "Don't go!" You can't meddle in it. You can only do one thing: God can manage people's thoughts, no matter who you are. If this matter affects Abram, what will happen? We know that Abram is powerful! He is chosen and blessed by God. Those who bless Abram will be blessed, let alone those who come to kill Abram.

God Will Make Abram's Name Great

All events happen to fulfill God's purpose, proving one thing: God wants to make your name great. If Abram desires to make his name great, God will make it small. If a person tries to promote their own name, God will destroy that person. However, when Abram seeks the name of God, God makes Abram's name great. This name is not earned through military conquests. Lot, Abram's nephew, was captured, and Abram didn't say he deserved it. I tell you, even if someone gets cancer or any other illness, although I may scold you, if you genuinely need my care, I will serve you seriously. I don't play games; it's an opportunity to cast out demons, and whether I save you or not is not the key. In the spiritual world, whenever my demons encounter me, they must be trampled underfoot and rubbed on the ground.

My name is quite powerful in the spiritual world, so demons must know that they cannot touch those who belong to me. Even if they have left and are tormented by demons, if they remember me and come back, I can still press the demons down and rub them on the ground. Abram didn't attack Chedorlaomer just for the sake of it; Chedorlaomer had captured Abram's nephew Lot. Whatever the case, he was Abram's nephew. So you must know that those who belong to me cannot be touched; I am Abram.

Abram took three hundred and eighteen servants. I thought it was three hundred and eighteen thousand or maybe thirty-one thousand eight hundred? But it turns out there were not even three thousand! only three hundred and eighteen men to fight against four kings. In that era, wouldn't you need thirty thousand or fifty thousand soldiers to defeat those four kings? In ancient China, during warfare, they would deploy an army of thirty thousand. When Emperor Qin Shi Huang's great army conquered the Chu Kingdom, he commanded an army of five hundred thousand soldiers, which was impressive. Those four kings couldn't have been a few cats going to war, right? Yet, Abram went to fight with only three hundred and eighteen men. It sounds like a joke, but it doesn't matter.

The king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the people and keep the goods for yourself.” But Abram said to the king of Sodom, “With raised hand I have sworn an oath to the Lord, God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth, that I will accept nothing belonging to you, not even a thread or the strap of a sandal, so that you will never be able to say, ‘I made Abram rich.’ (Genesis 14: 21-23)

Abram is formidable! He is not fighting for money; he is fighting for his own name. He left behind a good reputation: God will deliver the enemies into Abram's hands. Abram is a prince in the eyes of God. Many people just don't know how good it is to be like Abram! Why do I encourage everyone to be a person with destiny? Because being a person with destiny, with God's protection, is such a wonderful thing, so why not pursue it? Abram became a prince with a great name!

Brothers and sisters, don't think that you are very capable. I often say: don't treat yourself like a dish. If you always treat yourself like a dish, it will be troublesome.

Get Rid of the Myth of Trusting God

**Not trusting in God has become a misconception; rather, trusting in God can lead to many related misconceptions.**Many Christians blindly trust in God. Abraham didn't do it that way. Abraham took good care of his sheep, took good care of his herds, and trained his servants well. He brought three hundred and eighteen trained servants from his household. You think he had nothing to do all day, just drinking a bit of wine, sitting there stupidly, losing his hair, and his belly getting bigger? It's not like that. I guess Abraham must have been a master in martial arts. If you're going to be in the world, you need some skills! You have to know, only a fierce dragon can cross the river. If you're not a fierce dragon, then just stay in your hometown. If you're going to mix in society, you need capital to mix! Abraham went out to mix, although he wasn't aggressive, he definitely didn't slack off in training.

Everyone must know exactly where everything we believe comes from in the Bible. David was also very powerful. Lions came, bears came, tigers came, it wasn't like Wu Song from Jingyang Ridge fighting the tiger after drinking a few bowls of wine. David was really powerful, he had skills since childhood. If you don't have the ability, you're not even qualified to love the world; if you don't have the ability, are you qualified to love God? Not quite.

You'll find that most of the logic of my faith is related to the Bible, to Genesis. As long as Abraham is here, he has been brewing the body of Jesus Christ, which is the victorious church today. At that time, Abraham already had the appearance of victory. Not only that, but Abraham also allied with Mamre, Eshcol, and Aner. Alliance means if they hit you, I'll hit them. When they hit me, you also hit them with me, beat them up, roughly that's what it means. Don't be silly, don't think like this: Mamre doesn't believe in God, Eshcol doesn't believe in God, Aner doesn't believe in God, I won't ally with them. Let me tell you, Abraham allied with them. Many people think that lying flat is trusting in God, but that's just nonsense. There was a person who went to Poland to pursue a PhD. He had a heart to serve God since childhood, but his logic was not like Abraham's logic. He wrote a long testimony. Why? Because he was greatly troubled by demons, so he found The Doctine of Destiny. One of our pastors served him, casting out the demons from him. He went from having a miserable life to feeling a bit blessed. He used to struggle to find a job, but recently he not only had interview opportunities but also got this job. After getting the job, he thought about it and wrote a testimony of his life from childhood to adulthood.

He wanted to serve and trust in God since childhood, but he was filled with confusion and misconceptions from demons. Anyway, I trust in God now, so I don't need to do anything else. I don't need to go to college, I don't need to study for a PhD properly, I don't need to do anything properly. But even getting a PhD didn't go well, running out of options, unable to do anything, the top in eating. How did this happen? This is a misconception! Is this trusting in God? This isn't trusting in God, this is trusting in the misconception of God.

A man who had escaped came and reported this to Abram the Hebrew. Now Abram was living near the great trees of Mamre the Amorite, a brother of Eshkol and Aner, all of whom were allied with Abram. (Genesis 14:13)

Don't think you're better than Abraham. Many think that blessing me means giving me money or something, no need for that. If you follow me and walk Abraham's path, that's called a blessing. So, everyone must dispel various misconceptions. Don't think that because God has given the enemy into my hands, I'll ignore you. Mamre, Eshcol, what are you... thinking like this is just silly. I want to tell you, the most frightening believers are Christians, especially those who are confused in Jesus Christ. They appear to be Christians, but deep down they are confused, and that's troublesome.

What you believe in isn't Jesus, you believe in confusion. What I'm saying is don't get it wrong when you rely on God, you still have to keep your feet on the ground. You must remember this. Many people live in a daze, especially when they feel they're doing everything right. Actually, often you have to go back to the Bible to see if it's true or not.

It was God who Delivered the Enemies into the Hands of Abraham

Because God delivered the enemy into Abraham's hands, when Abraham returned victorious and encountered Melchizedek, the king of Salem, Abraham offered a tithe to Melchizedek. Why? Because all victories belong to God. Lot also offered a tithe to God for the spoils he recovered from Chedorlaomer, whether it was from Sodom, Gomorrah, or the five kings, all the tithe was given to Melchizedek, the king of Salem. It is said that Melchizedek is the son of Noah's son Shem, because during Abraham's time, Shem was still alive. Shem was a person who personally experienced God, he blessed Abraham: "Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth. And praise be to God Most High, who delivered your enemies into your hand." Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything.

If you acknowledge that it is God who makes you victorious, that it is God who delivers your enemies into your hand, then every victory, whether in business or elsewhere, you must offer a tenth to God. I tell you, you won't lose out. Why did Abraham know that it was God who delivered his enemies into his hands? Can he not know when he fights? As soon as he saw the enemy, they became confused. Sometimes Abraham would just shout a few words, like selling things and shouting, then the army of Chedorlaomer and the four kings would kill each other. This is recorded in the Old Testament Bible.

Our brothers and sisters must understand, is it good to be like Abraham? Of course, it is. It is God who delivers the enemy into Abraham's hands. You must understand, every time I fight, it's not me who defeats the enemy, it's my God who delivers my enemies into my hands. It's so good to rely on God in battle! Those who trust in God, all who are descendants of Abraham or in the same line as Abraham, have all experienced this. David killed Goliath, when entering the land of Canaan, Caleb killed giants, Joshua also killed many giants, all relying on God.

So I tell you, victory does not come by chariots, horses, power, or talent, but by God. Trusting in talent and having talent are absolutely different. Don't forget, these two are not the same thing. We often make a mess of this, not studying properly from childhood, so when we grow up, we become confused. Doing things properly and living by doing things properly are not the same thing, are they? They're not the same. I live by trusting in God, but I also do things properly. Living by trusting in God and doing things properly, and living by doing things properly, these are two different things.

It's your decision to go out to battle, but whether you can win or not, that's from God. There are many similar businesses, similar conditions, but some people succeed while others fail. The same battle you fight, even if you seem to have the advantage but don't win, this is also common. Ultimately, you must know that it is God who makes people victorious.
