Introduction
Good day to all! I reckon if I didn't guide everyone through this chapter, you'd likely skip the parts about the tabernacle's construction materials. How would I know? Because I used to do the same. Those who become bosses usually start from the bottom. One day, a subordinate told me he was late. When I asked why, he blamed it on traffic or subway malfunctions. I chuckled, saying, "I used to say the same thing, and my boss used to chuckle at me." What am I implying? We used to skip this part, but not this time. There must be something the author wants to convey.
The theme of this chapter is: Building the Exquisite Tabernacle. Do you aspire to do exquisite work? If you desire to be an exquisite person, you must possess exquisite skills and attitude. Understand that having an engineering background is particularly advantageous; an engineer is a builder. If you build a dam that collapses, or a house that crumbles, you've constructed a shoddy project. Have you noticed this passage is written twice? Doesn't it strike you as odd? It was mentioned in previous chapters. Why the repetition? To prevent you from forgetting. Important matters are often reiterated. Whether it's Moses or we attribute it to God, it indicates the significance of this matter. We skipped it before, only to find it repeated later, so it must contain crucial information.
I want to tell you that our God is an exceedingly exquisite God. Ponder this carefully. Although I founded Chinese Mingding Destiny, I often wonder, among so many people, why did God choose me? Why not someone else? Just as God found Bezalel and Aholiab. Know that Moses was a very refined man. In that era, he received an excellent education in the palace. At this time, God restored those qualities within him, one by one. Our God is an exquisite God, and if we produce exquisite work, it reflects God's image. Chinese Mingding Destiny is an exquisite theology. Our church is fond of doing things with refinement. When I train you, I meticulously build you up. A person who builds a church, if he is not an exquisite person, that's problematic.
This entire chapter speaks of building the exquisite tabernacle. God specifies the materials for building the tabernacle with clarity. Start contemplating this matter. From now on, you must mold yourself into an exquisite person. In reality, you are all exquisite, but the devil is too wicked, making you rough. He idly makes you negative or engage in the knowledge of good and evil. Originally an exquisite person, negativity creates a hole. This generation is also quite peculiar. For instance, tearing holes in perfectly good jeans, and feeling stylish wearing them, but I fail to see the appeal. If one's life is constantly marred by deception and losses, it becomes very distressing, like jeans with holes everywhere. Nowadays, people like to tear good clothes into strips, then wear them out, thinking it's design. I just can't see it.
We must become noble and refined. Understand that God's purpose is for us to do exquisite work, so that we become exquisite people. This is crucial. The end results of being an exquisite person versus a sloppy person are certainly different. I have a dream that in our church, no matter how broken you are, we will mold you into an exquisite person, at least significantly more refined than you were many years ago. If you came to our church three years ago, you are certainly more refined today than you were two years ago. Some people remain depressed after seven or eight years, their minds filled with trivial matters.
We must become increasingly refined in our thoughts, possessing a glorious image. From now on, have a dream for yourself, allowing God to work in you, restoring you through Chinese Mingding Destiny into an exquisite person with God's glorious image. We build the church together; you are Bezalel, and I am Bezalel. We are not just one Bezalel, but many Bezalels among us, and many Aholiabs, all skilled in craftsmanship. All our training aims to develop people into exquisite individuals. It doesn't matter if you don't understand this chapter, but you must know that building God's tabernacle is a very refined project. Our God greatly desires that our entire faith be an engineer-like faith, where we get things done. So the first thing is to have a heart of dedication and an attitude of dedication.
A Heart of Dedication, An Attitude of Dedication
If you want to accomplish something, you must contribute money and effort. To do anything well, you must have an attitude of dedication. Without an attitude of dedication, if you start a project and find materials missing the next day, how can you proceed? In some construction sites in China, truckloads of bricks would arrive, and a few would disappear each day, taken home by the supervisors. The building could never be completed. Even if the main structure was built, you'd find a missing window frame or door frame, because the workers had taken them home. If greed resides within, it's impossible to build anything well.
We must cultivate a heart of dedication and an attitude of dedication. Building God's church, building God's temple, must be done by a group of dedicated people. It cannot be built by a group of selfish people. Our church must be built into a place where everyone is dedicated, without any worries. Everyone is dedicated, and suddenly you have this need or that need, there are plenty of people here who can serve you. Not only can they serve you, but they also have the ability from God to serve you. So let go of all the concerns you have about retirement. Don't worry about it. The church is full of dedicated people, and your issues will be resolved easily. It's not a problem.
Building a church must be done by a group of dedicated people. In the early years when I was building the church, I attracted a bunch of freeloaders. They came to eat braised beef, roast chicken, roast duck, and ham, all for free, but asking them to contribute money or effort was difficult! I thought, the church can't operate like this; it needs to constantly transform. Later, when they came to church, they had to put a coin in for a bottle of mineral water. We serve cancer patients, and we never charge them any money, including those who come to us without any connection to us. They've seen healing and deliverance that cost money, but they've never seen us provide healing and deliverance for free. We pray for them every day, and they become afraid when we call, because our spirit of dedication is greater than the price they pay to solve their problems!
Building the exquisite tabernacle uses gold, silver, acacia wood, goat hair, and sealskin, all good materials. You might think, "I was going to knit a sweater for my husband with that goat hair," but you dedicated it, and the husband's sweater is gone. To build the exquisite tabernacle, a place to worship God, you must give the best to God! Our service is a life-risking service, so whether you're on YouTube or anywhere else, you can rest assured that we don't want anything from you; this place is a place of impartation of blessings. You might say, "Where else in the world can you find something so good?" Without a heart of dedication and an attitude of dedication, don't do anything. If you gather a group of people who are all taking things home, then let them build their own homes well, and not be among us. Why? Because they'll take what we dedicate to their homes, and that's problematic!
Until finally Moses said, "Stop, no more offerings, it's too much, too much!" Everyone brought gold. The things in the tabernacle were all covered in gold, which required a lot of gold. The gold necklace saved for the wife was dedicated, the gold earrings were dedicated, the gold bracelets were dedicated, all dedicated! Because a heart of dedication and an attitude of dedication are the key to blessings, a heart of dedication and an attitude of dedication are very important! Especially when dedicating to God, you can't offer junk to build God's tabernacle.
Later, I discovered that many churches like to collect junk. Not only does our church not collect junk, but I also don't collect junk. Some people, as soon as they hear about offerings, bring old clothes, old pants, and old socks to offer. Some people say, "Pastor, I have a microwave at home that I want to offer." I ask, "What's wrong with it? How many years have you used this microwave?" They say, "Five years." I ask them to take a picture of it. When I see it, I wouldn't even want it if it were thrown on the street. If I took it back, I'd have to throw it away. I know they are just offering trash. They offer trash to God, and God treats them as trash! The church is not a place to collect junk; the church is full of good things.
Then Moses gave a command, and they sent a word throughout the camp, saying, “Let neither man nor woman do any more work for the offerings of the sanctuary.” So the people were restrained from bringing, (Exodus 36:6)
What a beautiful scene, to build a glorious church, to build a glorious tabernacle, so that this place can have God's presence. The theme of Exodus is the army of God coming out of Egypt, and the most important weapon of the army of God is the glorious tabernacle, the presence of God. With the presence of God, demons cannot stand at all. I used to lead a small group in a local church. A few days ago, a member of the group wanted to see me. After we connected, we met. As a result, in the past few days, he served one person today and another person tomorrow. He served a depressed patient, who got better; he served a person who broke his leg, who got better. I said this is really on fire, starting to be zealous for God. In the process of coming to our church, he actually experienced a lot of things. He had cancer two years ago and escaped death. Thank God!
Everyone starts to take out time and money. People must have this attitude of dedication. Serving is a kind of dedication, and serving God must be offering the best to God. Build an exquisite tabernacle, and then your life will be full of color, very colorful and exciting. Very colourful and exciting, very exciting. So, our brothers and sisters, we must build God's glorious church with a heart of dedication and an attitude of dedication. Many people don't have this attitude, which is very troublesome.
Stable Structure
To build an exquisite tabernacle, if you read this passage carefully, you need a stable structure. Without the mindset of an engineer, if you make something, like a stool, it collapses when you sit on it; if you make a table, it becomes crooked; if you build a house, it collapses. Without a stable structure, there's nothing to say. You will find that to build an exquisite tabernacle, the structure God gives us must be a stable structure. The church is the same. There must be a few basic things as a stable structure.
I once read a book called "The Tornado Effect," which had a profound impact on me. It was given to me by a friend. This book analyzes how many high-tech companies can develop rapidly. Companies like Alibaba, Google, and Huawei are all pushed by the market. Later, when I built the church, I said that the church has a few basic and most important structures. With these elements, the church will form a tornado effect. Now we are already in the tornado, which is to grow rapidly. What is the structure of the church? The first is the Word of God, and the second is to do the Word of God. The result of doing the Word of God is healing and deliverance, healing the sick and casting out demons.
Many people especially admire us for reading the Word of God. Our understanding of the Word of God is very deep, deeper than the average evangelical and charismatic. There is no comparison. Our understanding and accumulation of the Word of God is very unique, and this set is Chinese Mingding Destiny. We also have many other pastoral care. Our church's pastoral care is definitely first-class and very advanced. When you come among us, you will find that there is also a series of training courses, and many have been added recently, just to promote everyone's learning and become smarter. If we have these factors, the result of the church is stable. If the church does not have these basic structures, how can it be built? I am also surprised that many churches do not have these things.
We have a new comer reception course, which talks about how to receive new comers, how to shepherd, how to do healing and deliverance, how to strengthen the Word of God, and there is a series of such things. Especially studying the Bible and Sunday sermons. But you will find that it is not a very structural thing, like praying before meals, it is okay to have it or not. Many churches take praying before meals very seriously, but is praying before meals a structural thing? It doesn't seem to be. In fact, there is no such thing in the Bible, and this thing is not regarded as a very important structure.
Many churches make worship and praise very exaggerated. Later, I thought about it. Jesus did not bring a group of drummers and guitarists; Jesus did not bring a large group of doctors, nor did he bring a large group of deacons. Jesus did not do these things, but now many churches regard these things as the foundation and important structure. But we don't, we return to the Bible, and you will find that I will not tell you what this symbolizes and what that symbolizes. I have abstracted those things into this.
The structure must be stable. Whether you are building a temple, building a church, or building anything, it must be a stable structure. It cannot collapse. If you build a bridge and it collapses, isn't that troublesome? Fortunately, I am an engineer, and I am very clear about these things. I also thank God that before the creation of the world, he chose me in eternity, and he also chose you, and then we build God's glorious church together. The structure of the tabernacle built by Moses was very stable, and it would definitely not collapse with a slight lean. If it collapses with a slight lean, wouldn't that be troublesome? I pay great attention to structure. Everyone should think carefully, so I teach you frameworks, building frameworks, framework-type thinking, and how to learn. These are all these things.
Materials
Everyone must know that to build an exquisite thing, materials are very important. Even the most skilled housewife cannot cook without rice. No matter how good a housewife is, what can you cook without rice? Gold, silver, acacia wood, goat hair, sealskin, sheepskin, all these good materials. A lot of gold was used. Every piece of wood was wrapped in gold, and every stick was wrapped in gold. How much gold would that take!
When you enter the tabernacle, you see it is resplendent and still bright after many years, because gold does not rust. So our brothers and sisters gradually think about it. No matter what you do, if you want to be an exquisite person, you have to start from these places. So from having structure, having materials, and then having craftsmanship.
Craftsmanship
Bezalel and Aholiab and those people made the entire processing technology of building the tabernacle. This passage is not written in the Bible, but based on my experience as an engineer, you want Luban to become Luban. Do you know what characteristics Luban has? He has a very important characteristic, which is that he can make and manufacture tools. Everyone knows that a person has craftsmanship, materials, and structure, and he can also manufacture tools. Without tools, you cannot make things. So if you want to make these things, you have to make tools. You slowly think about it, you have to think about tools no matter what you do.
Chips have become a very important topic in this generation. If people don't process chips for you, you can't make mobile phones. Why can't you make chips? There are no tools for making chips. How important are tools? With tools, you can have craftsmanship, and then you can produce things. I believe why the Bible talks about Bezalel, Aholiab, and these wise people, you think can you directly process wool with your hands? He has to make tools to weave it, and he has to make tools to wrap the gold on it. People are great because they can make tools, so people with skillful hands can make tools. I like to make tools. I explore one today and another tomorrow. I often like to study these things, so craftsmanship is very important.
Tools
An engineer does not merely use tools, but often creates a tool to achieve what they want to achieve. Can what is made in this way not be exquisite? Think about it, everything you do has structure, design, beautiful drawings, materials prepared, craftsmanship, tools all ready, and then there are colors. Don't think that the tabernacle was pure white. Can you imagine that? If it were all pure white and fluttering in the wind, you would think you had entered a funeral, how scary!
God's tabernacle had crimson, blue, purple, and red, these are very beautiful colors. Good color matching is an aesthetic! When you enter a home, the color scheme is closely related to the owner's taste. Some brothers and sisters have good colors, and some brothers and sisters don't have very good colors. What to do? To be exquisite, color is very important. Fortunately, God created people who are not colorblind. Your eyes and mine are all colored. When you see this color, it is so beautiful. If everything you see is black and white, that would be so annoying!
God created people to be very exquisite. The difference in people's eyes to the feeling of color, even a little bit is a big difference. I encourage everyone to gradually train your understanding of structure, materials, craftsmanship, tools, and colors. This is essential for engineers. Our God has great taste and is very noble. If a person's life can live out the life of God's tabernacle, that would be wonderful! So color is very important. You must train yourself, whether you like it or not, I have to push you up. You have to slowly ponder this color. We will open a course on color matching in the future.
Interfaces are Key
You will find that in all these things, some things are written with a lot of space, such as the connection between the curtains. Laying floor tiles to the corner of the wall is very difficult. Later, people installed a skirting board. In fact, people don't kick it all the time. But whether the decoration is good or not, the edging is very important. How the door frame and the wall are connected, how the floor and the wall are connected, there must be edging. You will find that God attaches great importance to the edging. Later, I found that many things are very interesting. For example, in software development, the interface is very important, and the interface is the most difficult to deal with.
Building the tabernacle, the curtains were woven, and 50 buttons were placed on the edge. This thing is very important and particularly difficult to do. Moses talked about one thing after another. I looked at this whole article horizontally, abstracted it one by one, and found that the interface is very important. What kind of buckle, what kind of copper hook, how to interface, how to connect, so that it can look good and be stable. No matter clothes or other things, the edges and corners are very important. How they are handled depends entirely on that thing. After a large piece of curtain was woven, God specifically said that this edging is very important. I emphasize this to let everyone know that the interface is very key.
If you want to make a table, just take a piece of board and saw it, just use it like this, how ugly! You will find that the doors of your cabinets have edging, and many things have edging. Recently, I have been making tables very well. Why have I been making them well? My edging technology has improved. I use ironwood to make the edges very well. It looks like a high-end product. Edging is very important, the interface is very important. If you want to live an exquisite life, structure, materials, craftsmanship, tools, colors, and interfaces must be exquisite. A person dresses well, but wears a broken belt, which is annoying at first glance. It doesn't matter what brand the belt is, but it must look good, because the interface is very important.
The Importance of Language Description
Moses was very powerful and wrote all these things in words. For example, tenon, mortise... After reading it, I think these words and terms are very difficult, they are all very advanced things. Moses described it clearly with a language, and then Bezalel and Aholiab actually made it according to this description. So everyone should learn to write. We will also train you how to write in the future. If you can't explain something clearly, then you are not clear in your understanding. You really want to live an exquisite life, but when you ask what is exquisite? You don't know, you can't describe it. It takes a lot of effort to describe it, but you can't explain it clearly. What is not clear is not clear.
We really want to train brothers and sisters to be able to live an exquisite life, your language must be up to standard, you must be able to describe it. Sometimes I say that their mouths are as clumsy as cotton pants waists, because they can't explain things clearly after talking for a long time, which is very difficult. People's mouths must be clever, or what you write must be clever, and be able to describe things clearly. Being able to do it is one thing, being able to speak and explain things clearly is another matter. Being able to explain things clearly is very important.
One sister had difficulty describing things in language. She couldn't get a regular job after working for three months because her mouth was as clumsy as a cotton pants waist. Later, I trained her. Six months later, the company gave her another chance to get a regular job. This time she could explain it clearly. It is great that people can explain clearly after they have done it. It is very important that people's mouths can speak clearly and can do it! Don't save time on this matter. Have you ever found that I am actually a very good speaker.
A sister called. After I answered the phone, she cried. I used my speaking skills to make her laugh. Because she encountered a problem and didn't know what to do, and she couldn't explain it clearly, she felt uncomfortable! It's like dumplings being cooked in a teapot, you can't pour them out. Sometimes you only know that the baby is suffering, but you don't know how much the baby is suffering. Can you explain the suffering clearly? If you can't explain it clearly, the more you can't explain it clearly, the more suffering you will suffer. Nothing can beat my ability to speak. Finally, after I taught her, she laughed.
Descriptive language is very important. Moses wrote a very good explanatory text, which is a style of writing. He described the process of building the tabernacle and how to use materials very well. From today onwards, everyone should practice writing. Pastors among us, I will teach you how to write, and you will also teach the people below you how to write. When everyone can write, their brains will be very powerful and their thinking will be very clear. Every word and term here is a concept. Describing these concepts clearly together is knowledge. A person has knowledge, it all depends on what he can write. Next, we will train the brothers and sisters in our church to focus on dedication, structure, framework, materials, craftsmanship, colors, interfaces, and language.
One day, your boss asks you to write about this material, and you complete it quickly. The boss is surprised and asks where you learned it? You will say that you learned it in church. The boss says, does the church teach this? I am surprised that if the church doesn't teach this, what does it teach? This is a place for training, training you to be an exquisite person, a talent in the workplace and in society. You will find that it is very important for people to be able to speak and write. People's wisdom and skills are reflected in what you do.
In fact, our God does not live in temples made by human hands at all. So what do we build this for? God does this to train people, to train you to be an exquisite person, a wise person, a co-worker with God, instead of training people to say Hallelujah very loudly, or training people to only talk nonsense and gossip. We want to train people to be exquisite people who can not only do things themselves, but also lead a team to do things together. Fulfill God's Mingding Destiny in us, and then build an exquisite church, build a glorious church, build a place where God is with us, and live an exquisite life. Let us feel excited when we think about it and hear about it.
I encourage everyone to get rid of that poor mentality; get rid of that lazy mentality, and start doing everything exquisitely. You will find that it is really good to do this! Growing day by day, you will be able to train others in the future. This kind of dedication is true dedication. If a person is stupid, poor, and lazy, and you can train him well in your hands, then you must be very powerful.
Summary
Let's train everyone according to the engineer's thinking. I will definitely not train you to be idle and go to the streets to protest. No matter which country you are in, which community you are in, or what kind of government you are in, you will be happy to be an exquisite person. Don't be idle and watch those bad things, often watch those good things, how good!
Our brothers and sisters can finally find a place to show your talents. This is very good. Everyone becomes an exquisite person. Of course, this is a dream. A dream is not just a dream. It also has a specific implementation plan. There is an English sentence: Dreams without a plan are just wishes. If you have a dream but no plan, it is just a beautiful wish. A beautiful wish is useless. We not only have a dream, but also put it into practice. Fortunately, I didn't study philosophy or literature when I took the college entrance examination. Thank God! We build God's glorious church together, which is a place to shape people into exquisite people. You and I have the image of God, and restoring this glorious image is the core concept of Chinese Mingding Destiny.
May God bless everyone!
