Introduction
Good morning, everyone. I am very pleased to meet you online again. Today, I will be sharing with you the series of sermons on good habits, Bearing Fruit for God. Chinese Mingding Destiny has a very obvious characteristic, which is that it does not like to engage in empty talk. What we talk about can basically be implemented, and what we do has a common logic: we do not do things that have no results or returns. Therefore, what we talk about, say, and do all revolve around one thing, which is to bear fruit for God. A spiritual person's good habit is called bearing fruit.
When we have this kind of thinking, we look at the results of everything we do. For example, if we do something and the result is not good, then why should we do it? If we run a business and lose more money as we do more, then why should we do it? There is no return, no result. For example, if you have had a hundred relationships and haven't gotten married, what are you doing? Some say that relationships that are not for the purpose of marriage are just playing around. We won't talk about whether these words are right or wrong for now, but the question is, what exactly is our goal? What kind of fruit do we want to bear?
We need to know that habit is not a trivial matter. Some people have the habit of bearing fruit, while others do not. What they do does not focus on bearing fruit. There is a song that sings very well, I don't care about eternity, I only care about having possessed. But is this logic really as good as the song sounds? Not necessarily.
Yesterday, I ministered to a thirty-year-old young man. Thirty years old should be the age of establishing oneself, but he was still unemployed at home. The days of being unemployed at home are not easy, so I took over this case and started ministering to him. Yesterday, I gave him an assignment to reflect on all the fruitless things he has done over the years. If the results are not good, then there is nothing to talk about. Being unemployed at home at the age of thirty, did he do things right? He did not. Actually, I have been ministering to him for more than just a day or two. Because his emotional intelligence is relatively low and he is not very good at speaking, I asked him to learn to speak and watch The Eloquent Ji Xiaolan, imitating the scenes in it. At first, he couldn't imitate well, but later he spoke quite well. Then I asked him to create an original skit, and then I asked him a few other questions. As a result, he said, Goodbye, teacher, thank you! and left the group.
I was very surprised how it turned out this way. Was I going to get any benefits from him, or was he going to get any benefits from me? He needed me to help him very much, and I wanted to help him too. If things went on like this, they would definitely get better and better. But people are so foolish. What was the result of this matter? Later, the young man realized and apologized to me, saying that he had a bad temper. What is the reason behind the bad temper? It is that people do not have a concept of return, a concept of bearing fruit.
If I want to do something, I must do it well. I am very clear about what the goal of doing this is. For example, my goal in ministering to him is very simple: first, to learn to speak; second, to learn how to conduct himself in society. If a person does not know how to conduct himself in society, his personality is strange and his temperament is rather odd, not an easygoing personality. If a person in his life leaves groups and blocks people whenever he is unhappy, is this smart or stupid? Therefore, we begin to develop a habit of accomplishing things when we do them, making money when we do business, and building good relationships when we interact with people, and doing a good job when we work. Therefore, I gave him a new assignment, which is to look at returns in everything and summarize the things he has done over the years that have had no returns.
Why hasn't a good habit of bearing fruit been developed through so many years of education? Actually, this is due to people's ignorance of things. If people are ignorant of things, they will follow their emotions and preferences, and do whatever they want. Therefore, it is not easy to develop a good habit. Previously, we talked about How to Live Out the Original Glorious Image That God Created Us To Be. The process of restoration is very difficult. Everyone must know that developing a good habit and forming a bad habit are absolutely not the same. Bad habits do not need to be developed; they come naturally. But developing a good habit is a very painful thing.
We must know that what we are today is the result of living in old habits over the past few years. Habit is a reflection of personality. Some people are not tired from playing video games all night, but I get tired to death after playing for a while. Some people can persist in playing mahjong for 24 hours, but I get dizzy after playing for an hour. But I especially like to work, especially renovating, doing woodworking, improving a process, doing some training, and organizing things. I like to do these things. Which is better? Why are some people tired from playing games and others are not? Some people have developed the habit of playing games, some people have developed the habit of playing mahjong, some people have developed the habit of smoking, and some people have developed the habit of loving work. Some people have developed good habits, and some people have developed bad habits. Habit becomes nature.
Let's start to ponder, regarding the matter of bearing fruit, how exactly does God teach us? The end of a thing is better than its beginning. If a person has wrong ideas, he thinks that the process is important and the result is not important; but in fact, the result is very important, no matter what the process is like.
For example, the process of Joseph becoming the prime minister of Egypt in the Bible was that he first worked as a slave for ten years and then sat in jail for three years. Later, he came out of prison and became the prime minister of Egypt. 30 years old! Some people are unemployed at home at 30, and some people are the prime minister of Egypt at 30. What made Joseph the prime minister? Was it the process? In fact, the process was not good at all. If someone wants to argue with me and say that he was fine, then fine. In fact, the final result is very important. Some people work very hard as pastors, but end up with cancer or heart disease, and that's how they pass away.
Chinese Mingding Destiny values results very much. Sometimes I often challenge those among us who can talk a good game, who can speak eloquently. Anyone can talk, anyone can pretend, but what fruit have you borne? Some people will say, Oh! I have no credit but I have worked hard! But Chinese Mingding Destiny does not believe in hard work, only in credit. Why? Because bearing fruit is very important. A good tree bears good fruit, a bad tree bears bad fruit, and trees that do not bear fruit are useless. Jesus said, If it does not bear fruit, cut it down!
Therefore, our brothers and sisters must think carefully and start to ponder whether you have good habits or many bad habits. Once your good habits are established and become natural, you will no longer be so tired. For example, I have a habit of reading the Bible, I have a habit of learning, and learning will not hurt all over. Some people do not have the habit of learning, and they hurt all over when they learn. I have established many good habits. For example, when I was a student, I was used to being a student; when I worked, I was used to working. Because I have good habits, some people do not have good habits. Being a student is painful, working is also painful, and doing everything is painful, except for eating, drinking, and having fun, but after eating, drinking, and having fun, they are very empty. Why? Because there is no return, no result.
Without results, even a lot of hard work is useless. Habit is a very powerful force. Some people say, Oh, I don't have good habits, so what should I do? Then you start to establish a good habit. Spiritual people are people who establish good habits, and spiritual people are people who bear fruit. I may give many series of sermons, which are aimed at the many bad habits in Christianity today. Many Christians do not focus on results today. God tells them to bear fruit, but they do not. Regardless of whether they bear fruit or not, they think that they will go to heaven after they die. Can they go? That's nonsense!
We must become a people who bear fruit. What is the reason for not bearing fruit? It is because things are not done right! I will talk about a series of good habits, such as prudence, flexibility, enthusiasm, creativity, innovation, focus, faithfulness, seeking, gentleness, humility, a love of exploration, and a love of examination. These are all good habits. Every sermon is not easy to give. I specifically choose the difficult ones to preach. It is not easy to make these difficult topics simple.
Let's read the Bible. The Bible clearly states from the beginning of Genesis that all of God's creation is fruitful. People in Northeast China sometimes say quite sarcastically, Oh, this person is a hybrid... The fruit produced is hybrid, which is called a mongrel, saying that this person has no seed, that is, they cannot bear fruit, and they are very cowardly.
Scripture
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. (John 15:4-8)
Prayer
God, you are raising up a large group of people who bear fruit among us. You have clearly told us that you are the vine and we are the branches. If we abide in you, we will bear much fruit. May our brothers and sisters all bear fruit and be a people who please you. Lord, let us abide in you always, and let your words abide in us, so that what we ask for in your presence, what we desire, you will fulfill for us, so that I may see the fruit we bear to glorify your holy name. Lord, today we all want to be your disciples. Open the eyes of our hearts today so that I can be your disciple and be a blessing to this generation, bearing good fruit for you and glorifying your name. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
Theme and Background of the Scripture
For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. (Matthew 13:12)
Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
Although these words are a bit heavy, it is a very interesting Christian principle, think about it slowly! We call this Christian principle the Matthew Effect. This is a very cruel rule among the many rules created by God. The current society calls it the winner takes all.
Spiritual principles are actually the same in this world. For example, the church we have established today is a very sticky church. Anyone who is truly willing to seek, when they come among us, they basically begin to be transformed into disciples of Jesus Christ. When these people go to see or hear other things, they cannot listen to them. Once I said to a full-time co-worker of a pastor, What does your pastor talk about when he holds seminars? As a result, he told me something that I don't know is true or false. Let's just say it in his original words. He said that his pastor's preaching has no substance. Can you imagine? A full-time co-worker's evaluation of his pastor's preaching is that it has no substance.
I felt sad for a while, and I said, God! May you have mercy on me and let the truths I preach have some substance. This is also a very strong pursuit of mine. Then the question comes, if we build such a church and my own co-worker says outside, Oh! Our pastor's preaching has no substance. After hearing it myself, I think, I might as well close the church and not do this anymore. What's the point of doing it like this?
Our brothers and sisters must think carefully about what the Lord Jesus wants to say in this passage. The important things that the Lord Jesus said are often repeated again and again and again. The three words bear fruit are repeated many times in John chapter 15. Why are they repeated so many times? Because bearing fruit is very important. Important things are said three times. If the Lord Jesus said it more than three times, it means that this matter is very important. Everyone go back to John chapter 15. The name I gave to this chapter is The Faith That Bears Fruit.
In Christianity, how many fruitless faiths or fruitless believers are there? If you say they bear fruit, but they get cancer, how should that be counted? A good tree bears good fruit, a bad tree bears bad fruit. Who wants to bear the fruit of cancer? Who wants to bear the fruit of ankylosing spondylitis? Why do these things come out? Because people obviously do not understand how to bear fruit, and even do not know that the Christian faith is a faith that bears fruit. If a person does not know that the Christian faith is a faith that bears fruit, and then they do not care whether they bear fruit or not, they will eventually bear evil fruit. No one likes to bear the fruit of cancer, heart disease, ankylosing spondylitis, or arthritis.
Do you ask me if this is God's will? I don't think so. Usually it can be said to be God's discipline. If you say that God's discipline is also God's will, then let's not discuss this matter. But let's make this matter clear. This fruit is not the fruit that God wants. If God wants the fruit of getting cancer, then let's not believe in it. Brothers and sisters must know that our God is definitely not Santa Claus. This matter of bearing fruit is completely in accordance with the words of the Bible. Every branch in Jesus that does not bear fruit, he takes away; and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
Everyone carefully ask yourself, what fruit have you borne? This matter of bearing fruit is really a matter of opinion. Why do I say this? Because after speaking, no one knows what kind of fruit it is. You carefully read the background of the scripture in John chapter 15. What kind of fruit does Jesus want us to bear? Jesus is the vine, and we are the branches. Then what do we bear out? Bitter melon, honeydew melon, apple, or grape? If a bitter melon grows on the branch of a grape vine, isn't that very strange? That's a genetic mutation. If what grows on the grape vine is grapes, isn't that right? Because Jesus Christ compared himself to the grape vine, and we are the branches, so the fruit we bear must be grapes.
A grape vine should bear grapes. This is a matter of course. If the fruit we bear is not like Jesus, what is it? We should not have the image of a monk, but the image of Jesus Christ. What are the pastors and Christians who are not like Jesus Christ today considered to be? Maybe they are blueberries or strawberries, but not grapes. Maybe you are blueberries or strawberries, and they all look pretty good, but Jesus Christ compared himself to a grape vine, so we should bear grapes.
Everyone must know that Chinese Mingding Destiny does not have any profound theories. It is just a very straightforward grape vine that bears grapes. A grape vine can only bear grapes, and cannot bear bitter melon, honeydew melon, apples, or bananas. A grape vine must bear grapes, and the disciples of Jesus Christ must be like Jesus. If the disciples of Jesus Christ are like Jesus, that is the clear theme of this passage.
But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. (Matthew 20:26-28)
When did Jesus say these words? It was just before he was nailed to the cross. Jesus Christ did a few things. The first thing was to wash the feet of his disciples. Jesus also said a lot. When we were recently studying Matthew, we just came to chapter twenty something. Among them, the Lord Jesus said, Whoever wants to be great among you must be a servant to many, must serve people. The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve. To be like Jesus is to serve people like Jesus.
Last night I interviewed several brothers and sisters who wanted to come among us. They are relatively blessed. When I interview, I look at how well they did their homework, whether they are really serious. Of course, we will take those who are really serious and run forward with them. If you play tricks on me, you are wasting time. After reading the homework they did, I asked some questions, which is whether they really understood what believing in the Lord is for. Don't believe in Jesus in the end, and also belong to God, but in the end do not bear fruit, and then be cut off by Jesus, thrown outside and burned. This is no different from not believing in Jesus. We must know that this passage occurred just before Jesus was nailed to the cross, after a very heartfelt prayer and teaching.
What Jesus Christ wants is not believers but disciples. Disciples are people who are like Jesus are called disciples. Disciples are filtered out from believers. People who believe in Jesus first receive grace. Their goal is not to stay there, but to become more and more like Jesus one day. If you become more and more like Jesus Christ, the God you ask for will fulfill it for you. This is called bearing fruit. The important things Jesus said before being nailed to the cross are very important. God wants to tell us these things so that we will not fall.
Bearing Fruit is God's Requirement
Bearing fruit for God is God's command. Have we developed the habit of bearing fruit today? Spiritual people shout all day long, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, the Holy Spirit comes... This is very easy to learn. We can learn it in about a day of training, but the problem is, is this bearing fruit? No, this is lip service. Whether Christians can bear fruit in the end is a matter of life and death.
Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. (John 15:8)
If you are a disciple of Jesus Christ, you must do what Jesus Christ did. The things Jesus Christ did, the fruit he bore, are the fruit we are to bear. Jesus Christ came into the world to release the captives and the oppressed, to preach the gospel, heal the sick, cast out demons, and teach people spiritual truth. He let people see the truth of God, know that our Heavenly Father loves us so much, and then bear fruit, and our Heavenly Father is glorified as a result. We often hear strange testimonies. These testimonies are not what Jesus did. These testimonies sound good, but I don't think these are the fruit borne by Jesus' disciples, but the testimonies of who the disciples of Jesus blessed and prayed for, and that person received grace. These fruits are not borne by the people who believe in the Lord, but by the people who serve them.
For example, after some people believe in the Lord, their children get first place in school exams; and after some people believe in the Lord, their finances are greatly reversed. They used to be very poor, but now their finances are better. I'm not saying this isn't a good thing, but are these things bearing fruit? Is this the fruit that God requires? No. You probably received the fruit after someone else watered, fertilized, and grew green leaves. When it's your turn to bear fruit, you have to bear fruit. Everyone grows branches together. Many branches have been growing for many years, but they do not bear fruit, just like some people have become old hands among us. Yesterday someone shared with me that the iron tree they were serving finally blossomed and bore fruit, and that person was finally released.
Bearing fruit is God's requirement. This is self-evident. Those who do not bear fruit will be cut off. Everyone should ask yourself, am I a fruitless old hand? Or a disciple of Jesus Christ who bears fruit? If we don't think about it, it's really a matter of life and death. Some time ago, a brother was unemployed during the epidemic. This brother has a gift. Whichever company he works for, that company is likely to go broke. Some time ago, he worked in a gambling company, and that company closed down. Then he looked for a job, and now this company has closed down again. He asked me if this was a curse. He needed God so much at this time to find a job. We prayed for him. He sent me his resume to revise, and then he found a job. After finding a job, should he bear fruit for God? Several companies he had worked for had closed down. Today, should he ask himself why I am this kind of person? It should be that wherever I am, that place prospers.
Look at Joseph in Potiphar's house. Potiphar was blessed because of Joseph. People who are blessed will be blessed even if they are only related to them. Bearing fruit is God's requirement. Those who do not bear fruit will be cut off by God. I just reminded him. Fortunately, he knew he had to bear fruit. Thank God! Among us, there are still many people who believe and become old hands. Today, are you going to become a branch that is cut off? If we are disciples of Jesus Christ, you will like to obey God's commands and always abide in the love of Jesus Christ. Abiding in the love of Jesus Christ is not being loved, being cared for, and becoming a mess; abiding in the love of Jesus Christ is that we must have love from God in us, be disciples of Jesus Christ, share that love, begin to have the image of Jesus Christ, and build a unified church.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. (John 15:13-14)
If you do this, you will lay down your life for Jesus. That's why I shout and cry to bear fruit for God. This is God's requirement. You say, God, can we be flexible? Can I dedicate two-tenths, or more? It's useless. Some people dedicate more to building temples than you do. This is not the fruit that God wants. The fruit that God wants is that you can be like Jesus. This is what we said earlier, God wants to restore the original glorious image of God in us. Often ask ourselves, do I love God? Who have I shepherded? Who have I blessed? If we cannot even bless our own families, can we bless passerby A? No, we cannot.
Therefore, brothers and sisters, often check the results of your shepherding and the effect of your service, and you will know whether you are disciples of Jesus Christ. If you can bear the fruit of Jesus Christ, aren't you a disciple of Jesus Christ? For example, casting out demons, healing and deliverance, blessing, you pray that God will fulfill it for you, but if you pray and God does not fulfill it for you, but fulfills something else, then you must know that this is troublesome. Therefore, starting today, develop a habit, from a habit of not bearing fruit to pursuing a habit of bearing fruit. Doing Christians is what we are doing, so isn't it better for us to be Christians who pursue bearing fruit? If doing Christians does not bear fruit, but is just messing around, is that God's requirement? No!
Bearing Fruit
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. (John 15:16)
What kind of fruit should we bear? Firstly, I appointed you to go and bear fruit, which is to win people like catching fish. We are not dragging people into religion, but serving them, blessing them, and then turning them into our fruit, which is the result of our service. The most important thing is not how they are, but how we serve. Our service must have results. Later, I carefully pondered that if a person is unwilling to pay the price in service, how can there be results?
Often, wherever I go, I am accustomed to doing things that produce results. Many years ago, I met a sister who loved the Lord. Her daughter’s cancer cell levels were too high, and her body was often very tired. She felt very uncomfortable inside, with her head feeling like it was covered with an iron helmet, and many strange illnesses appeared on her body. Her waist and neck were stiff, and she felt very uncomfortable inside. Describing her condition, you would know that she was quite miserable. Sometimes she would often cry for a long time.
I was brought to meet her, but she actually knew many big-name pastors. She said one sentence to me that became my motivation today. She said: I have met many pastors, but they are not interested in my problem, and no one cares about my problem. You are the only one who cares so much about my problem! Do you know why I care so much about her problem? I do this to bear fruit for God. What I do is to set the captives free and the oppressed free. One day, I will bring all the fruit I have borne to Jesus Christ and say: God, I have done everything you entrusted to me! What do I want to gain? Anyway, I am living in this world. I have seen these things clearly and plainly. I only care about one thing, which is to run towards the goal that God has set for me, so that I can tell God in the future:
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. (2 Timothy 4:7-8)
Therefore, my service always has results. Brothers and sisters, what kind of fruit do you want to bear? It is to bear fruit like Jesus Christ, to cultivate batches of people who are like Jesus, and then to promote a movement to become like Jesus Christ. Many Christians have very confusing ideas: Who is Jesus? Isn't there only one Jesus? I am not Jesus. There is only one Paul. Who am I? I am not Paul. They find a thousand and one excuses for themselves. They can be unlike Jesus or Paul, and they can be like whoever they want. Either they are an unfruitful branch that is cut off and thrown into the fire, or they are bearing bad fruit and are not on the vine at all. I think today we should reflect on ourselves, what kind of fruit do we want to bear for God?
This is from the Sermon on the Mount:
Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ (Matthew 7:17-23)
The next sentence is the most famous:
Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. (Matthew 7:23-24)
Being like Jesus is the key. Being like Jesus includes performing miracles and casting out demons, but the most important thing Jesus did was to lay down his life for his friends. You can cast out demons in the name of Jesus Christ, but if you are not a person who pays the price, and you have not forsaken all for Jesus Christ, and you have many preconditions, such as forsaking is not okay, but casting out demons is okay, that means you value your wife, parents, and children more than Jesus. Are you worthy to be a disciple of Jesus Christ? You can cast out demons, but Jesus Christ may not know you. What Jesus wants are disciples. Disciples must be people who cast out demons, but not everyone who casts out demons in the name of Jesus Christ is a disciple that Jesus wants. What Jesus wants is to build the foundation on the rock, to hear the word of God and put it into practice, not to pick and choose what to do, but to live by every word that comes from the mouth of God. To live for God and to die for God, this is bearing fruit.
Therefore, being like Jesus is the key. We only do a little bit, and then we think we're like Jesus, but we're far from it. What do you have inside? Maybe you also offer sacrifices, but you offer Cain's sacrifice; maybe you also offer sacrifices, but you offer burnt offerings. Therefore, brothers and sisters must observe carefully.
A few days ago, I received some not-so-good news. One pastor died of cancer, and people said he rested in the Lord; another pastor held a global evangelistic meeting and then went to the hospital with a heart attack. Today, if we follow the path of Chinese Mingding Destiny, the fruit we bear is like Jesus, with Jesus Christ's precious blood flowing in our bones; the genes of Jesus Christ are revealed in our body and bones. What we do, what we do, and what we think are all like Jesus Christ.
If we don't have a habit of bearing fruit, and we find a thousand and one reasons to prove that we are innocent, and we can prove that the fruit we bear is not like Jesus, what's the use of proving it? You need to know why you are unwilling to bear fruit, because bearing fruit is difficult. But if you develop a habit of bearing fruit, you will know that this fruit is not right, and this is not the fruit that Jesus Christ wants. If we know that we have made a mistake, then we will correct it. So we must develop good habits!
Develop Good Habits That Are Results-Oriented
Everything must have results. If the fruit is not right, don't talk about anything else. A good tree bears good fruit, and a bad tree bears bad fruit. If you look for pomegranates under a pomegranate tree, that's okay, but if you look for grapes under a pomegranate tree, you're in trouble; it's normal to look for apples under an apple tree and pears under a pear tree; but if you look for apples under a grape tree, you won't find them. We must develop a habit and not deceive ourselves. When we find that the result is not right, we know that we didn't do it right.
I may offend some people by saying this, please forgive me, so I'll talk about myself. Don't be like me in the past, I used to be like that, what can I prove if the result is not right? God gave me a little wisdom. When the church I built was not like Jesus Christ, and the church I built was not like the Apostle Paul, I was under a deep curse, and everything I did was not going well. If you ask me if I understand in my heart? I understand. Although I paid a lot of price, there was hard work but no merit. I thank God for deeply disciplining me. Even today, God disciplines me more than many people. If I make a small mistake, discipline comes immediately. I thank God, I know I didn't do it right, and then I adjust immediately. Today, we must develop a habit of being gentle and humble in our hearts, and we must develop a habit of looking at the results. After bearing fruit, we must see if it is the fruit that God wants. If we do it wrong, we must start to adjust.
There was a young man who dedicated himself to God and became a preacher at a young age. After becoming a preacher, he was very confused. His mother suffered from mental illness and became like a naive child, speaking with the pronunciation of a child. I have met this young man, and he also studied theology. Later, his father's business plummeted, and the whole situation was very miserable. So, is his service what Jesus wants? Today we talk about being results-oriented. Many people think that it is like this when balsam pears grow under a grape tree. If the results are not right, why do you still think it is like this? Some people pray for his mother and it's okay, but after praying, the amount of sleeping pills increased by four times; some people pray for his wife and it's okay, but after praying, the tumor grows even bigger! Today we need to know one thing, which is to know that we didn't do it right. We must develop good habits and check our results. This is what I will talk about later, to learn to examine, to learn to be gentle and humble in our hearts, and to learn to seek and explore.
How to Bear Fruit
How to bear fruit? I would like to make a summary and tell everyone how to do it. Actually, it is very simple, because God has already told us this.
Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. (John 15:4)
Can you understand? If you are not on the vine, can you bear fruit? If you are not connected to Jesus Christ, but connected to the devil, can you bear fruit? It is impossible to bear fruit. Therefore, don't think that a church is a church just because it has a sign. It is called a church only when God is present.
I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5)
What does it mean to remain in Jesus Christ? It means to be in the church of Jesus Christ, to be in the body of Jesus Christ. Therefore, brothers and sisters must be determined to build the glorious church of Jesus Christ, and then love one another. If the church leaves God and does not have God's presence, what can the church's sign do?
If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. (John 15:6-7)
If you cannot see God's presence in our midst, and you cannot see the fulfillment of our prayers, then the result is not right. We are not in Jesus Christ, and God's word is not in us, how can we see God in our midst, and God do it for us? If you can see what we want, and our prayers are fulfilled, then that is bearing the right fruit. So there are not too many principles, there is only one principle, which is to remain in the body of Jesus Christ, which is to build his glorious church. You will bear much fruit in Jesus Christ because of the body of Jesus Christ, and our Father will be glorified, and you will be disciples of Jesus Christ. Isn't this very straightforward? There is nothing too complicated.
Starting today, ask yourself, what is the return for making this choice? What kind of fruit do I want to bear for making this choice? Some people make a choice and want to be millionaires. Millionaires are not so great now, they want to be billionaires, they want to be the richest people in the area. Is the result you want what God wants? And what kind of person can you become if you set such an ambition and pursue such a result? What is the result of your life like? Like Jesus? If not, then it is not what God wants. Therefore, today, brothers and sisters must be in the word of God, we must no longer be ignorant people, but be wise people.
A few days ago, one of our pastors entered a group and saw his little pastors praying for someone with a few people. That person stammered, and had to say each word several times, which was actually a demon. Then they were praying hard there, which was very hard. I call this hard work. After this pastor entered the group, he wanted to make a new attempt, and asked the stammering person to read Genesis. When he first read Genesis, In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth, he read: In in in... the the... be be... gin gin gin... God God... After praying and reading again, the phenomenon of repeating words was much less, and after praying and reading again, it was fluent, In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth... Even rapid reading, the stammering was cured! What is the reason for this? The reason is that we must remain in the word of Jesus Christ. The effectiveness of our service is related to our motivation to pursue being like Jesus. It is not that those who pay the price are wrong, we must run on the road of paying the price, but we must desire to be like Jesus.
The principle in me is very simple. One touch from Jesus is good, but one touch from me is not good, then I will touch it ten thousand times, and in the future I will touch it a thousand times, and in the future I will become a hundred times, and in the future I will be like Jesus, one touch will be good, this is bearing fruit! In the word of Jesus Christ, start to desire to read God's word, and you must start to restore the enthusiasm for reading God's word in your heart. I will read it to you:
Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction. (Psalm 1:1-6)
Therefore, today our brothers and sisters begin to have a passion to know God, and remain in the word of God. We keep and obey the words that God has commanded us. Since we are building the church, which is the body of Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ constantly warned us before he was crucified, and today we will act according to the word of God. Of course, the word of God goes far beyond these things, no longer be ignorant people but be wise people, have spiritual knowledge, develop a good habit of bearing fruit, and then see if that fruit is what Jesus wants. If not, we will adjust ourselves and be grafted onto this vine, and we must always examine and look at the results.
A good tree bears good fruit, and a bad tree bears bad fruit. If you are on a bad tree, how can you bear good fruit? Some people ask, according to what you said, what should I do? Some people actually disdain my way of speaking, but how can a person on a bad tree bear good fruit? How can a person on a bad tree or on a bad branch bear good fruit? If a church is not built according to the word of God, then what can you gain in this church? Maybe I will offend many people by saying this, but it is the truth, isn't it?
Therefore, brothers and sisters, start to examine ourselves again, develop a good habit of bearing fruit, don't be slippery old guys, and don't develop bad habits. Your company has been brought down by you, isn't that strange? Do we often carry the image of Jesus Christ on our bodies, and offer ourselves completely, and love our God alone? My mother smoked for decades and played mahjong for more than ten years. People reap what they sow. Three years ago, she got Alzheimer's disease. But because of me, God had mercy on her, but she still has a lot of things in the world in her. The soil has been buried to her neck, but she still loves money and the world. I am also very surprised, how much sin does a person have to suffer, the skin on her legs is ulcerated in large areas, it is very hard! It looks painful. The area around the scab is all red and swollen, and it looks very painful!
Every night I prayed with her, and I said: In the name of Jesus Christ, I declare that I no longer love the world, and I do not follow the customs of this world, I love God alone. In the name of Jesus Christ, I declare that I must be healed, I will recover my health, I will fully recover, and I will serve my God! I prayed with her like this again and again. There was a small episode in the middle. While praying, from I will serve my God it became I will not serve my God. That demon is really bad, and often changes these words in the middle.
I don't care about these, I only hope that my mother can turn away from sin. She has suffered too much sin, and it hurts to see it. I only hope that my mother can start to live according to the word of God. When I prayed with her again and again, the redness and swelling began to fade, and then the ulcers began to shrink. I was also very shocked, actually not for a long time. My mother likes to celebrate the New Year very much, because she can eat good food and have fun during the New Year. She has attracted many demons and suffered a lot of sins at this age. I really hope that my mother can recover and serve my God with me. My God is her God, and where I am, she is there. I believe that people who have suffered so much should have a deeper understanding of living!
Those of us who have suffered so much sin and suffering should carefully reflect on ourselves, loving the world will bear such fruit, and loving God will bear fruit in all things prosperous. Develop a good habit of reading the word of God. This is my expectation, my desire, may God bless everyone!
