【Bible Study】Matthew 5 - We must be perfect, as our heavenly Father is

2020-04-01 60,863 Matthew Confidence Wisdom Chaos Longing to be Like Jesus Borrowing Money Blessedness

Reading God's Word with Wisdom and a Spiritual Eye

Let's examine Matthew Chapter 5. This chapter is indeed challenging to study because its words are not easily understood. For instance, Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. (Matthew 5:42) This verse alone has tripped up many. If applied literally to life, it could lead to significant problems. Some individuals, being unskilled and lazy, might feel entitled to borrow money from others. Some of our brothers and sisters have encountered such situations. A pastor, wanting to send his child to study in the United States but lacking the funds, requested money from wealthier members of the church.

These sisters, quite endearingly, took the verse to heart and donated a substantial sum to the pastor, not as a loan but as a gift. If God's word is applied in this manner, it could lead to trouble. If I were to borrow money indiscriminately, how many might stumble? Matthew Chapter 5 contains many difficult sayings that require wisdom for proper understanding. If you ask me how to interpret them, I would lean towards a more practical approach.

I have always held the belief that if the outcome of applying a principle is incorrect, it indicates a misunderstanding of that principle. Giving to everyone who asks to borrow would indeed be problematic. Recently, I ministered to a sister who, before joining our church, had a father who incurred significant business losses with no prospect of recovery. Years later, the situation remains unchanged, and her father continuously calls her to borrow from loan sharks to repay other debts—a classic case of robbing Peter to pay Paul, which is quite distressing.

Several years ago, this sister borrowed hundreds of thousands of dollars for her father and is still burdened with over ten thousand dollars in debt, causing her much hardship. Upon hearing my teachings, she realized the situation was not normal. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. What does this saying truly mean? Misinterpretation can be devastating. The sister's mother, a preacher, and her father were acting inappropriately, creating chaos within the family, pressuring her to borrow from loan sharks. How can one navigate such a path? She remains conflicted, trembling whenever her father calls. Thankfully, she came to our midst, and I advised her to cease this practice.

Another brother shared that his father asked him for money to purchase a new car. The brother sought my advice, asking, My father is asking for money; what should I do? I inquired, Do you have the means? He replied, Not much. I then asked, Why does your father need the money? He explained, Because he ordered a car. I retorted, If he ordered a plane, would you provide that as well? Such chaotic situations are prevalent in the world. Did he not consider his financial situation before buying the car, hoping to extract funds from others? Can this verse be applied to such a circumstance? No.

If we fail to examine this chapter with wisdom and a spiritual perspective, we risk falling into many pitfalls. You may think you are following the teachings of Jesus Christ, but in reality, you are misinterpreting them. The Bible has a characteristic: without wisdom, reckless interpretation can lead to trouble. We, as brothers and sisters, must recognize that if applying a principle leads to an incorrect result, then we have not applied it correctly.

Therefore, we must begin to understand what we are truly reading in the scriptures. The theme of Chapter 5 is to be perfect, just as our Father in heaven is perfect. There is rampant quoting of scripture out of context in Christianity. We must eliminate the absurdities from our faith, such as brothers borrowing from each other. I must admit that I may not be able to explain everything in this chapter perfectly, but I know that it emphasizes being perfect, just as our Father in heaven is perfect. Grasping this theme makes the task easier.

Before proceeding, I want to mention the numerous interpretations of the Beatitudes in Matthew 5:3-11. Many have preached extensively on these Beatitudes, but I believe that following them literally, as taught, carries a high risk of falling into error. For example, Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Consequently, these self-proclaimed merciful individuals visit the pitiful in hospitals.

Recently, a sister, a pastor's wife, explained to me how they ministered to drug addicts in rehabilitation centers with compassion. One must understand the result of ministering to drug addicts with compassion. The director of the rehabilitation center recently died of cancer, and his relatives took over. What is true mercy? Is it showing mercy according to human standards, or according to God's standards?

To this day, we see various forms of mercy. I too have done many merciful deeds in the past. When people could not find work, I drove them around, sacrificing greatly. Later, I realized that while I showed them mercy, I did not receive mercy myself. Why? Because I did not minister according to God's word. I only focused on mercy in Matthew 5:7. They could not find work, were poor, and faced numerous problems, so I tried to resolve them using human methods. The results were poor, and I realized I had not applied it correctly. At that time, there were problems with landlords and employers—a never-ending series of issues, which was truly distressing.

I later discovered that only spiritual solutions can truly resolve problems. Be careful, because if the outcome of a practice is incorrect, it indicates a misunderstanding of the passage. This is a key aspect of Chinese Mingding Destiny. Chinese Mingding Destiny involves acting according to God's word, building one's house on the rock. If the outcome is incorrect, adjust immediately and do not rigidly adhere to the interpretation. Rigid adherence can turn even observing the Sabbath into a trap. People can be edified or stumble because of God's word in the Bible.

Living Out God's Image Through the Holy Spirit

Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. (Matthew 5:17)

Brothers and sisters, know that there are many claims today about abolishing the law. Take tithing, for example. Many argue that it is an Old Testament requirement, and since we are under the New Covenant of grace, we are not required to tithe. They fail to realize that Matthew 5:17 and onwards discuss what the law says and what Jesus says. Upon closer examination, we find that the law's requirements are lower, while Jesus's requirements are higher.

Even fulfilling the entire law falls short of Jesus Christ's requirements, but meeting Jesus Christ's requirements inevitably satisfies the law. The standard for Christians is higher than that for disciples of Moses. Christians must have a clear understanding of all matters in this world. When we understand these matters, we grasp the concept of curses and blessings and choose life and blessings over death and curses.

The most critical error is reading the Bible through human eyes, which is problematic as it leads to incomprehension. What happens if we fully restore the image of the Father in us? We would fulfill all the laws. The salvation we receive today is not earned by adhering to the law, but through Jesus Christ and the Spirit of God, we live out the image of the Father. When we live out the image of the Father, fulfilling the law becomes effortless.

Some rules in the Old Testament are peculiar: what happens when someone's ox gores someone to death, or how to handle various diseases. If you live in the image of God, are these rules meant for you? They are not meant for you at all because you will not encounter such issues.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16)

For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:18-20)

If we diligently keep and follow God's word, we will be blessed; the fruit of our bodies and the offspring of our livestock will be blessed. We will be blessed in the field and in the city, and everything we do will be blessed. What does this mean? It means that if we are blessed in our descendants and in our livestock, we will not encounter those unpleasant things—isn't that wonderful? The law is a lower level, while the salvation of Jesus Christ is a higher level. Not a single stroke of the law can be abolished because the law is a baseline. We must surpass the righteousness of the teachers of the law and the Pharisees; otherwise, we cannot enter the kingdom of heaven—a serious statement. If we are not even on par with the teachers of the Law and the Pharisees, we're in trouble.

The current issue is that if we surpass the righteousness of the Pharisees and teachers of the law, we assume this righteousness stems from our good deeds, which is not the case. Brothers and sisters, do not desperately seek good deeds as pursuing good deeds will not yield them, nor will pursuing miracles yield miracles, or pursuing money yield money. Instead, pursue a longing to be like Jesus Christ, relying on faith and the Spirit of God, and the image of God will naturally manifest.

Jesus set many traps in Matthew Chapter 5. Those who pursue good deeds will fall into them, deserving their fate. Despite Jesus's words, how can one achieve this? By faith. The righteous will live by faith. If you insist on keeping God's rules, you will fall into the trap. Cheap grace is popular in this generation, claiming that one can receive grace without observing anything. But has grace truly been received? It seems not.

For if one cannot diligently keep and follow God's word, they will be cursed. We must dispel the myth of grace—grace does not lower God's standards. Today, we promote the movement to be like Jesus Christ, a simple action. If a Christian does not resemble Jesus Christ, has he not wasted his Christian life?

We cannot abolish the least of these commandments, such as tithing, which some dismiss as insignificant because of grace. Many things are deemed insignificant and discarded. For example, speaking in tongues, considered the least of the gifts, is dismissed as unnecessary in modern times. Some say we should seek greater gifts. What kind of talk is that? Should smaller gifts be abandoned? Of course not!

We must understand that the salvation we receive is a complete system of faith. We cannot deem some aspects useful and others useless. For man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. If we rely on every word, then should the smaller ones be discarded? We must integrate all truths, great and small, into a complete system, beginning to live out the image of Jesus Christ. The righteousness and good deeds brought forth by our faith will glorify our God and our Father in heaven. You must know that this is the key!

You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. (Matthew 5:13)

Therefore, Christians are either above others or under their feet. As the salt of the earth, you should have flavor and live out the image of God, but instead, you live a flavorless existence. If the salt has lost its savor, or the faith of Jesus Christ has lost its power, what can it do? Nothing! When you encounter those in need of mercy, you can release them through the power of Jesus Christ, freeing them from the curse of poverty, oppression of disease, and miserable conditions. That is true service with the power of Jesus Christ!

Today, without the power of the Holy Spirit, we cannot perform good deeds, keep the law, or live out the image of God. But with the Holy Spirit, we must believe in God's word, and not the smallest letter or stroke of the Bible can be abolished. Some ask if Christians should observe the Lord's Day. In reality, Christians should observe 7 times 24—a week of seven days, each with twenty-four hours. We Christians should live out the image of Jesus Christ every day.

Establishing a Heavenly Logical System

We declare that not the smallest letter or stroke of the law can be abolished. But if we cannot fulfill God's law through the Spirit of God, how can we enter the kingdom of heaven? Regarding anger, do not murder; anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.

You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, 'You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.' But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, 'Raca,' is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell. (Matthew 5:21-22)

We may not fully understand “Raca” and “You fool!”, and this saying is quite perplexing. One may assume that anger is always wrong, similar to our discussion on the knowledge of good and evil. Someone asked a foolish question: If we cannot discern good and evil, can we point out the mistakes of our brothers and sisters? Discerning good and evil involves judging by one's own standards, whereas judging by God's standards is not discerning good and evil.

The Apostle Paul corrected many absurdities in the New Testament and even expressed anger, saying, You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Is this not scolding? Is this not anger? Yet, the book of Galatians is still circulated today. Fortunately, we have Galatians, which allows us to maintain a pure faith in Jesus Christ.

What is the anger toward a brother mentioned here? Let's read further:

Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift. Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you are still together on the way, or your adversary may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison. Truly I tell you, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny. (Matthew 5:23-26)

If we live out the image of the Father, are these issues still problems? If we live out the image of the Father, will we be angry with others over mundane interests? Will we cause others to hold grudges against us, or will we hold grudges against others over trivial matters? If we have the image of the Father, will you still care about these things? If others take advantage of you, let them. If you suffer a little, it doesn't matter, because this world is merely a temporary dwelling.

If we establish a heavenly logical system, we can afford to suffer losses. Even if some are ungrateful, we will not resent them. Even if they take advantage of us, it doesn't matter, but be careful not to be deceived. Being taken advantage of is not a big deal, and we should still bless them. If we see through worldly matters, we will be full of God's image. We would not need to take advantage of others, not even a penny's worth, and we will have no problem.

Many of our brothers and sisters are messing around, lacking the image of the Father. Know that those who live out the Father's image should not be poor. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for they shall be enriched. Is our gospel not a gospel that makes people rich? Enriched to be like the Father, would they fear others taking advantage of them? This is transcendence of the law. Today, we are angry over these worldly interests, which violates the law. The requirements of the New Testament are actually very high.

Becoming a Person of Mingding Destiny

Let us consider the second point, concerning adultery:

You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. (Matthew 5:27-28)

Such words are difficult to explain! A brother came to me, saying he was always sinning. He liked to look at pretty girls and would glance at them more than once, harboring lustful thoughts. I was not sure whether this counted as lust. Actually, it is normal to look at pretty girls. If a person did not enjoy looking, I would find it strange!

Many stumble over these words, their minds thrown into confusion. It is a troublesome matter, and you want to resolve this? It is quite hard to do so. Many brothers and sisters are bound by such things. If you keep praying to cast out the spirit of lust, it will not be driven away. Some have told me they are in great pain because unclean images often appear in their minds. At first, we wanted to cast out the demon, but we found that it did not work that way; the more we tried to cast it out, the worse it became.

We must strive to be like Jesus, to have Mingding Destiny! Why do people become addicted to computer games? Because they cannot do proper work, and being idle, they get bored and play computer games or look at unclean pictures. Later, I discovered that if a person strives to be like God, if he has Mingding Destiny in his heart, holding fast to it and diligently doing proper work, forming the habit of doing proper work, many evil things will be dealt with one by one. But if you focus on the matter itself, there is no way to deal with it.

Jesus, in speaking about adultery, was saying that the gospel of Jesus Christ demands much more than the law. How can this be achieved? It is by the Holy Spirit mortifying the deeds of the body within us. Brothers and sisters must know that we often pray in tongues, pray in the Holy Spirit, so that we rely on the Holy Spirit to mortify the deeds of our flesh.

If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell. (Matthew 5:29-30)

What is being said here? It is about our resolution to deal with sin, to mortify the flesh. Jesus did not say how to mortify it, but He set an example for us, taking the road to the cross with Mingding Destiny, nailing our carnal nature to the cross, and relying on the Holy Spirit to mortify the deeds of the flesh. This is the key to solving the problem!

If a person's logic system is entirely from God, and he pursues the kingdom of God and His righteousness, seeking eternal treasures in heaven, would he still be infatuated with earthly things? They would be of no importance. Some say, Alas, I react when I see a pretty girl. It is normal for adults to react; you are not becoming a eunuch. What I mean is that we often get stuck in this. We must begin to gain Mingding Destiny, and many things in the world will become less important. We constantly strive to be like Jesus Christ, serving this generation. With so much we can do, we have no time for these things.

Christians must yearn to be like Jesus. If a Christian merely says, I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior, and I am saved. After I die, I can go to heaven! then many of your bad habits will not be dealt with because you have no Mingding Destiny, and you are no different from people of the world. Everyone must know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is not a cheap gospel, but a gospel that requires paying the price to enter the kingdom of heaven. The price to be paid is the mortification of the deeds of our flesh.

Concerning divorce:

It has been said, ‘Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’ But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery. (Matthew 5:31-32)

Brothers and sisters must know that the Old Covenant was already a low standard, so Jesus constantly emphasizes here that the gospel of Jesus Christ is a higher standard. A person with Mingding Destiny sees through the things of this world, and the matter of divorce is simply not an issue.

Seeing Through All Things in the World

What does Jesus say about oaths?

And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one. (Matthew 5:36-37)

We often like to explain and argue with others. When explanations fail, we swear, If this is not true, may lightning strike me! But can you cause lightning to strike? You do not seem worthy! Such words invite things from the evil one. Actually, there is no need to prove the matter. Many brothers and sisters like to prove things back and forth, explaining again and again, always wanting to explain. But simply say yes if it is so, and no if it is not. If people listen and believe, they believe; if they do not believe, forget it. These worldly affairs are no longer important. If we are like our Heavenly Father, are these worldly affairs still important? If not important, what is there to say?

Brothers and sisters must know that if we are as perfect as our Heavenly Father, seeing through all things in the world, do we still need to get tangled up in these things? There is no need. For example, regarding revenge:

You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. (Matthew 5:38-42)

If we see through the things of the world, will we still be bound by these things? We will not. In this world, even if someone strikes our right cheek and we offer them the left, if we have the image of our Heavenly Father, as complete as our Heavenly Father, are these things still an issue? We exchange joy for bearing shame.

But some do not know what it means to live out the image of the Heavenly Father and begin to curse others. Why? Because he struck my right cheek. Actually, there is no need. If he strikes, let him strike, and offer him the other cheek. How can this be put into practice? If you are really determined to practice it, God will surely reign in heaven. It is that we live out God's image, and these things are no longer important. Being slapped once is just being slapped once, and suffering a little injustice is nothing great.

There is a song with the lyrics, Bearing shame brings joy. If our ability to bear shame is stronger, our ability to have joy within us is also stronger because we have seen through the things of this world, and we are merely sojourners on this earth. So, brothers and sisters, yearn to live out the glorious image of God! Some say, Who can do this? But consider what Jesus Christ said when He was nailed to the cross:

Jesus said, 'Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.' And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. (Luke 23:34)

Jesus did not say on the cross, God, send fire from heaven to burn them to death! Could Jesus send fire from heaven to burn to death those who nailed Him to the cross? Absolutely. But He did not do that because the Father did not want people to perish but to be saved. Even Judas, who betrayed Jesus Christ, would be saved by Jesus if he had a repentant heart, let alone those ignorant people who nailed Jesus Christ to the cross.

Acting According to God's Will, Living Out the Image of the Heavenly Father

Today, it is normal for us to pay a price for God. It is normal for people not to understand us, humiliate us, and fabricate all kinds of evil words to slander us. We are blessed! Because the prophets before us were persecuted in the same way. This is how our Heavenly Father is, and our Jesus Christ came to this world and was willing to be persecuted. Why is this so? Because our Heavenly Father did not want people to perish, but to be saved, not to receive benefits on earth, but to receive benefits from heaven.

Our God never says to crush this one or crush that one. I did not understand this before, and I asked why these bad people were not crushed to death. Later, I thought that if they were really crushed, I would be crushed next. Because if the worst person is crushed, then another worst person appears. There is always someone ranked last. As they are crushed one after another, I would be crushed next. So, we must never say, God, crush them, crush them! Because in the end, we would be crushed next.

That is to say, we must begin to have the complete form of the Heavenly Father, and we do not ask God to crush them. Even if there are still 10 righteous people in the city, we would not want God to send fire from heaven to burn that city. Do you understand? We are full of righteousness and mercy, walking humbly with our God. This is the image of our God. If one day, God stood before you and said, I am going to destroy Sodom, and you said it should be destroyed, you would have failed the test.

Because God told Abraham this to test him. Abraham did well, repeatedly bargaining with God, If there are 50 righteous people in the city, will you still destroy it? Later, bargaining down to 10 righteous people, God said, Then I will not destroy it. Abraham knew what kind of God God is and could teach his descendants how to uphold righteousness. This is the righteousness of God. So, brothers and sisters, if we see through the things of the world, if someone forces you to go one mile, you will go with him two miles; it is nothing great; we can afford the price. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. But we must know what it means to borrow from you.

The Bible does not teach us to pay off gambling debts for others but says that if someone has nothing to eat, we will give him money so that he can have food. This is what I often do. Our God is such a God. Our God has abundant mercy and grace, so we must also have abundant mercy and grace. But this is not being deceived. If someone deceives you, and you are willing to be deceived, that is not helping people; that is harming people.

Let us continue reading:

If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. (Matthew 5:46-48)

I have discussed so much. I think Christians must transcend the law. How do we transcend? By acting according to God's will. Then it will be easy. This way, we can live out the image of the Heavenly Father. We will become blessed people. We lack nothing. Should we not give away what we have freely received? We receive power from God and can overcome the powers of darkness, trampling the devil and enemies under our feet. Are we not rich? Are we not healthy? Are we not prosperous? I come to this world to give away completely what I have received from God, blessing this generation. Is that not what should be done?

Brothers and sisters must know that this blessing begins with the feelings within us. If we feel that life is meaningless, then the poor in spirit are blessed, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. If we feel that life is delicious and are infatuated with the world and money, thinking we are someone because we have a little money, how can we enter the kingdom of heaven? We say the poor in spirit are blessed because we have seen through everything and feel that living in this world is meaningless. What we lack in this world is the blessing of the kingdom of heaven.

So, we begin to yearn, and as we yearn, we begin to receive. Do not think that being poor in spirit is false humility. Being poor in spirit is knowing that we lack power from God, blessings from heaven, and eternal life in eternity. This is what it means to be poor in spirit. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. If people do not mourn or suffer in this world and live deliciously, who will comfort you? People will enjoy themselves in this world and casually enter hell. When people mourn, they will receive comfort from God because we will be satisfied and receive comfort from heaven in the kingdom of God.

This world is not our home; we are sojourners on earth. Suffering a little loss is nothing great; we have seen through it. We are very tired in this world, so we mourn, and God will be gracious to us, allowing us to receive comfort from heaven. These are all our inner feelings. These feelings will help us see through many things in the world. If we are comfortable in this world, we will be dizzy and unable to see clearly.

Blessed are the meek, which is also easy to mislead people. Some think that compromise is meekness, but it is not. Meekness is the softness of our hearts. If we are gentle and humble within, we will not be rigid, and we will be blessed on earth. God will pour out blessings on us. Some gently discipline their children, but they cannot be disciplined. Children must know what it means to be punished. Children who are spoiled from childhood will be ruined when they grow up. Compromise is not meekness, and indulging the flesh is not love. Earthly affairs are related to our degree of reception of God's words. We are not pretending to be humble or meek but are gentle and humble.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. People have a feeling of hunger within, so they keep pursuing, and we will be satisfied by spiritual things. Many people listen on our website and receive great satisfaction. I met a fan who had to see me. I was embarrassed by what she said. She said, Teacher! Your sermons have given me great comfort. Unfortunately, my husband still does not understand! What Christians lack most today is hunger. Even if it is a good sermon, they listen as if they have not heard it. So, we must hunger and thirst for righteousness. Righteousness is the righteousness of God, and the righteousness of God is faith in God's words, so they will be satisfied.

Blessed are the merciful, blessed are the pure in heart, and blessed are the peacemakers. These words are full of misleading information but are also very important truths. For example, making peace. Many people are just being nice, but this is not really making peace. Making peace is making people have a true quality of unity, and the quality of unity is very important. Making peace is putting God's words into people and completely removing people's words, thoroughly transforming people into heavenly people, and there will be no more disputes about many things on earth. Disputes between people are carnal habits. If the carnal habits of people are dealt with, people will be called sons of God.

When we do this, the devil and enemies will not let us go, but we do not care. So, blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven! Being persecuted for the kingdom of God and the righteousness of God, dealing with people's flesh, and turning carnal people into spiritual people, preaching this pure gospel, such people will surely be persecuted because how can the devil tolerate us doing this? The devil and his enemies will surely abuse us, persecute us, and fabricate all kinds of evil words to slander us through the people of the world. Once we encounter such things, we know that we are implementing God's words, so it is normal for us to suffer some persecution. Where there is war, there is no battle without injury.

Summary

We are blessed, and we should rejoice! For our reward in heaven is great, not only Jesus Christ, but the prophets of all ages have been persecuted in this way. All those who preach the pure gospel will surely be persecuted. New wine and new wineskins will surely be persecuted by old wine and old wineskins, and spiritual people will surely be persecuted by carnal people. It is normal for us not to be widely accepted, but these words are also quoted by some heresies, and they are also persecuted, so they think it is normal.

Are we really being persecuted for the kingdom of God and His righteousness? We need to see through the things of the earth. If the things of the earth have no place in us, we will know that we are heavenly people! We will fulfill the Mingding Destiny entrusted to us by God in this world and become a blessing to many people, just like our Heavenly Father is perfect, and become a complete person!

May God bless everyone!

Comment: Pastor, is homosexuality innate or due to a genetic defect? Or is it the work of evil spirits? Do you have any examples of healing and deliverance in this area? Reply: This is a sensitive topic. Some enjoy homosexuality, which is not my concern; they are free to do what makes them happy. However, some homosexuals suffer internally, disliking their homosexuality but unable to control it. This is a form of demonic oppression, and we can help them cast out the demons.
@Grace: Pastor, is homosexuality innate or due to a genetic problem? Or is it the work of evil spirits? Does the pastor have any examples of healing and deliverance in this regard?

Pastor, I am responsible for network issues at my workplace. Although I studied computer science before, I don't like it. I have been working for more than ten years, and my previous employer never let me do anything related to computers. But now my current employer wants me to be responsible for this, and I am very resistant to this work and often feel stressed. Is this the work of an evil spirit? Should I overcome it or honestly decline this job to my leader?

Comment: Pastor, I am responsible for network issues in my workplace. Although I studied computer science before, I don't like it. I have been working for more than ten years, and my previous employer did not let me touch any computer-related work, but now my current employer has asked me to be responsible for this aspect. I am very resistant to this work and often feel very stressed. Is this the work of an evil spirit? Should I fight it or honestly decline this job with my leader? Reply: If you can learn, then learn and keep doing it. If you can't learn, or are too lazy to learn, then quit. But dealing with the bad habits in our lives, the nature of the flesh, is still the most important thing!
