【Course】The First Global Online Seminar (1) - How to Read the Bible Lecture 1 - Imitating Jesus

2019-04-12 8,454 First Workshop - How to Read the Bible Logical System Purpose The Word of God Destiny Christlikeness Loving the World

Introduction

Before delving into the main topic, let me first address who exactly is leading this Global Online Bible Study? It sounds like quite a grand undertaking. Who are you? Do you have the qualifications? Are you a renowned pastor? Many people online are asking, who exactly are you? So, I will tell you who I am.

Actually, my name is not important. When I was born, my father just slapped his forehead and gave me a name. Telling you this name will not have a significant impact on your future. But I want to talk about whether I have the credentials; that's what matters most. Do I have the qualifications? This needs to be demonstrated through actions. Don't look at what I say, but look at what I do. In fact, Jesus Christ said the same thing: Don't just listen to what I say; there are too many who can talk, but not many who can do.

Over the past few years, I have had a deep desire: how can my service be more like Jesus? I think this is God's will. Many years ago, I was constantly seeking, wanting to be like Jesus. Some people might say, Oh, you are pursuing miracles. No, I am not pursuing miracles; I am pursuing being like Jesus. I think if any denomination wants to establish a new sect, it should be called the Like Jesus Sect. Being like Jesus, there shouldn't be any problem, right?

If it's not like Jesus but like Santa Claus, then it should be the Santa Claus sect. But the Like Jesus sect, no matter who you are, shouldn't have any major issues because Jesus originally wanted us to imitate Him. We must not only imitate Jesus, but also imitate the Apostle Paul and people of faith throughout the ages. So, this is the first point I want to make.

Am I like Jesus today? I personally feel that I am becoming more and more like Him every day because I am constantly practicing the faith of Jesus Christ. I don't just read it and be done with it; I put it into practice. In the process of practicing, I find that I am becoming more and more like Jesus. The promises in the Bible are so reliable!

Why do I say that? Because I have discovered that what Jesus did, I am doing today. Many years ago, I prayed for a patient with a cold. Wow, one hour passed, two hours passed, three hours passed. I was sweating profusely from exhaustion, but I have a character of not giving up. At that time, I thought, how great would it be if I could be like Jesus and just touch them once!

But today, I tell you, just like this morning when I was leading in prayer, many people had this ailment, that ailment, severe pain when urinating. After prayer, they were all healed. Back pain, healed after prayer; eye pain, blocked nose, all kinds of illnesses, the speed of healing is getting faster and faster.

Why is it getting faster and faster? Brothers and sisters, don't ever think that pursuing miracles will get you miracles; only pursuing the practice of faith will you see God's miraculous works. What does the Bible say? The Bible says that signs and wonders will accompany those who believe. Some people criticize me: You are pursuing miracles. Then I rebutted, saying, You pursue one and show me if any miracle appears?

Actually, I have never pursued miracles. What I pursue is being like Jesus. Therefore, in the days to come, there will be a movement that, on a global scale, a large group of people will pursue being like Jesus. In this generation, even if there are a thousand, ten thousand people like Jesus serving those in need, it still won't be enough to serve them all.

In the past period, we have served a large number of people with various needs, and we have shared God's grace. Now, what I want to share with you is whether I am qualified to share with you all; that is the key. Do I have the qualifications? I am not a famous pastor, but because I imitate Jesus, I have this qualification.

So I hope that our brothers and sisters, after hearing my sharing, can also begin to yearn to be like Jesus. You must yearn to be like Jesus! Aren't we all believers in Jesus? If we believe in Jesus but do not yearn to be like Jesus in our hearts, what are we doing?

Therefore, brothers and sisters, start changing a concept, no longer staying at the level of discussing God's Word as an idea, but rather, after reading God's Word, go and do it. After doing it, constantly be elevated in faith, so that our lives not only become more and more like Jesus, but also more and more able to do what Jesus did. Isn't doing what Jesus did God's will? I hope that our brothers and sisters can all be raised up by God to serve this generation and be a blessing to this generation.

Perhaps after talking about this, someone will still ask, who exactly are you? Actually, who I am is not important, but there is a name you need to remember: Chinese Mingding Destiny. How did I come about? Through prayer and practice, I created a system called Chinese Mingding Destiny. I am sharing this Bible study with you because I want to share what I have learned through these years of practice.

Moreover, I hope to see only Jesus and no one else, so that everyone can see the Chinese Mingding Destiny team but not see any one person's name, because that person's name is not important. Today, our team is growing stronger, and many pastors are directly sharing and passing it on. Actually, this era is the era for us Chinese to evangelize. Never before in history has there been such prosperity for the Chinese.

A hundred years ago, we were still the sick men of East Asia, but a hundred years later, we are so greatly used by God, becoming the main force in this generation to take over the baton of the gospel. May God remember our dedication before Him! May God continue to be with us in our midst, so that what we do is in accordance with God's will and pleasing to God. So everyone, remember, we are the Chinese Mingding Destiny team. Next, I will begin to share with you.

Grasping God's Will

Grasping God's will is a very important matter. I know that many people read the Bible and only see the trees but not the forest. These people are like frogs in a well, cutting up the entire Bible and explaining it sentence by sentence, without any system whatsoever. Do you know what Jesus said? Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. Then we are confused: what exactly is the word that comes from the mouth of God? God has said so many words, how can I live by the word that comes from the mouth of God?

We must build a complete system of faith in Jesus Christ through the Bible. Once we have a system of faith, it is easy to handle. For example, when Moses wrote Deuteronomy, he said that these words cannot be added to or subtracted from. But when Old John wrote Revelation, he also said that it cannot be added to or subtracted from. But after Moses wrote, Samuel wrote, and after Samuel wrote, many others wrote, including Isaiah, Ezekiel, Jeremiah, and the major and minor prophets, and then the Apostle Paul and the Apostle John also wrote. Did they add to it or not? Did they subtract from it or not?

I tell you, they are all in the same system. If they are in the same system, then there is no contradiction. In the same system, it is all the words that come from the mouth of God. If we grasp all the words that come from the mouth of God, we grasp God's will. If we grasp the entire system of faith, we will not go off-key. Brothers and sisters, learn to grasp the logical system of the entire Bible.

Where to start grasping the logical system of the entire Bible? Start from Genesis. Genesis chapter 12 talks about an old man named Abraham. In chapter 12, verse 1, Abraham begins to hear God speaking to him. What does God say to him? God says to him: I will bless you.

Why would God speak to Abraham? Because Abraham was seeking. Why would Abraham seek? Because Abraham discovered that life is vanity of vanities, and he wanted to find a meaning to life. So God told him: The meaning of your life is to be a blessing to all nations on earth, and all nations on earth will be blessed through you and your descendants.

Therefore, our brothers and sisters must know that this is a Mingding Destiny. People must seek the meaning of life in order for God to speak to them. If we are filled with selfishness and love for the world, how can God speak to us? Even if God speaks to us, can we hear it? So where does Mingding Destiny theology start? It starts from Abraham. Abraham saw life and death and was thinking about one thing: What is the purpose of life?

So, brothers and sisters, let's think together: What are we doing with our lives? Living and then dying—is there any meaning? I tell you, when I was in my teens, I knew that this was meaningless, being busy every day. At that time, I studied very well, but that didn't mean everything. Later, I got into a famous university. You know, in our era, getting into a famous university was very difficult and highly enviable. But even after I got into a famous university, I still felt that life was meaningless.

I started constantly searching for the meaning of life until one day I met Jesus Christ, and I began to read the Bible with great thirst. I read it desperately. At that time, I went to an English church, so I read the English Bible. Each page had twenty or thirty new words. If I didn't know them, I would look them up in the dictionary. Later, I discovered that what Jesus Christ revealed here was the meaning of my life. So if you ask me if I am qualified to share with you, I think I am.

Why? Because, like Abraham, I clearly saw what life is all about and what death is all about. I urgently pursued spiritual truth and saw how spiritual truth is truly revealed in the Bible. It was so wonderful! I thanked God. As Paul said, all the promises of God are Yes and Amen in Jesus Christ!

So, brothers and sisters, do you know how reliable God's promises are? I hope everyone can experience God's promises. God's promises are so reliable! When I put God's Word into practice, I found that God's promises are really true. I very much agree with what Paul said: all the promises of God are Yes and Amen in Jesus Christ! Therefore, I encourage everyone to know that Jesus Christ is a treasure.

His promises are clearly revealed to us in the Bible. So we see what God's will is. It turns out that God says that life is vanity of vanities, so we need to find a meaning to life, which is called Mingding Destiny. Some people feel that living is about traveling and seeing the world. I have seen all the scenery in the world, and I am happy and satisfied. I can die and close my eyes in peace.

Recently, I met a sister who used to be rich and loved to travel and have fun. A few days ago, she called me and said, Why do I feel that going out to play has no meaning anymore? Why does it have no meaning anymore? Because she began to have a sense of Mingding Destiny. It turns out that Mingding Destiny is much better than traveling and having fun. What happens after playing? I tell you, after traveling and having fun, you go home and lie in bed, and you will find that it is still very empty, too empty. For example, you find a group of friends to sing karaoke. After singing, you go home and lie in bed, and suddenly a wave of extreme emptiness will fill our hearts.

But we, who seek Mingding Destiny, have such peace of mind! I tell you, if we have God's presence every day of our lives, it feels great. It's not that we are pursuing feelings, but that we are pursuing Mingding Destiny. Because we pursue Mingding Destiny, God walks with us, and that is really a wonderful thing. Therefore, brothers and sisters, start to obtain Mingding Destiny. Obtaining Mingding Destiny is key. The entire Bible reveals the same truth, which is to grasp our Mingding Destiny. This is God's will.

I think that in everything, we must learn to grasp the essence. There is a big difference between grasping the essence and not grasping the essence. If people want to live well, it is impossible to live well if they don't grasp the essence of living. For example, some people didn't grasp the essence, so they thought about finding a master to repair their ancestral graves. What happened after repairing the ancestral graves? They were caught and sent to prison. Can you say that is living well? Did they grasp the essence? They didn't grasp the essence.

I tell you, if a person grasps the Mingding Destiny that God has for us, it is impossible for you to not live well. Therefore, brothers and sisters, I want to tell you one thing: all blessings are in Mingding Destiny. How can a person have blessings without Mingding Destiny? Because the blessing that God first said to Abraham was in Mingding Destiny. Without Mingding Destiny, there is no blessing.

So in the days to come, I encourage everyone to start thinking about such a question. Thinking about this question may be a little disappointing, why? Because everything we pursued in the world before was emptiness. Isn't this a tragedy? But if we realize this sooner, isn't it better?

What I want to say is that we should not be historians or critics, but people who grasp God's will. Even today, God is looking for people who are after His heart. If we cannot grasp God's will, isn't that a tragedy for life? This is the first point: grasp God's will.

Practicing God's Word with Faith

In Matthew 7:24, those who hear God's words and do them are wise, like a person who builds their house on a rock. If you hear God's words and don't do them, you are a foolish person, like building a house on sand. If a house is built on sand, won't it collapse? So, brothers and sisters, it is a tragedy to hear God's words and not do them.

I am a person who does God's Word, even if sometimes I am not very clear about God's Word, I still do it. Some people say, You are not clear about God's Word, so how can you do it? Brothers and sisters, what does the Bible say? Seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened for you. Do you understand? When I was still a layman, I had a heart of yearning and seeking, and God's Spirit guided me. You need to know that practice is a deadly thing. I often hear people say how such and such pray in tongues. Can you pray in tongues? They answer: I can't.

You can't, so what are you talking about? Do you have time to pray in tongues? No! There is no time to pray in tongues. Then what are you talking about?

We need to practice to do a lot of work. For example, writing programs, writing code. We think it should be like this in our heads, then we design it, and after we design it, we go to write it. After running it, we find that it's not right. We find that this wasn't considered during the design, that wasn't considered, and then a lot of bugs appear, and we have to solve a lot of problems in the program. So, if we write code by just thinking about it in our heads, it is impossible to do it right. Only when you make it, does it count, right? Making it solves a series of problems.

Therefore, we must start to grasp the very key words in the Bible, and you will not know these very key words unless you practice them. For example, the matter of tithing. You know, back then, I was so poor and destitute. Being poor at that time was really deadly. It was hard to find a job. And I also felt that living was very boring. I thought I would look around before I jumped off a building to see if there was a God.

Living is so meaningless and so hard, why don't I die sooner and suffer less? But I was not willing! As a result, I walked into the church, and I saw many wonderful things in the church, and then I knew that this God is good! Later, I decided to be baptized, and they gave me a class on the first lesson, which was about tithing. Oh my goodness, touching my money, it was almost like touching my heart, liver, and lungs! Oh, on the way home from the church, I took one step and thought one step, and I was tangled: should I tithe or not?

But I tell you, I made a smart decision, and this smart decision was to tithe! I said, If I choose not to tithe, then I will continue to live as a poor bum. I might as well just take a risk. Anyway, a month's salary is more than 1,000 dollars, and I'll give 100 dollars, nothing great. At most, it is more than 1,000 dollars a year. I can afford this risk.

I tell you, after I finished tithing, God's blessing really poured down until there was no room to contain it! I am really grateful to God that God's promises are so reliable! God's promises are so reliable! According to people's thinking, ten dollars is more than nine dollars. How can nine dollars be more than ten dollars? Because if you don't practice it, you won't know.

If you don't practice it, nine dollars is less than ten dollars. But after you practice it, nine dollars is more than ten dollars. Why is nine dollars more than ten dollars? Because nine dollars will increase! After God blesses it, it will increase! I tell you, later my salary turned over and over again, but this was not because of my ability. Because from that time on, I no longer relied on my own ability, I only relied on God's blessing.

I am someone who has seen through life and death. When I was young, I felt that living was not very meaningful, so I looked for a meaning to life. Once I found it, I lived for it, lived for it, and died for it. Do you know? In all these years that I have been a Christian, I have not missed a single Sunday. For decades, adding up to more than 1,000 days. I not only have not missed a single Sunday, but also in the local church, I have not missed the weekly Bible study in the small group. Actually, the small group leader was leading the Bible study very badly at that time, but I tell you, I have this character, and I have never missed it once. Don't you find it very amazing?

I am a person who practices faith. After practicing it, I know how wonderful God's will is! The grace in Jesus Christ is truly full of glory! If you just interpret the Bible with the Bible, then what happens after you interpret it? After you interpret it, that's all, right? But if you hear God's Word and do it, you will build this house on the rock, and the wind and rain will not collapse it. Then it is really very wonderful.

Our brothers and sisters need to know that building the church is God's will. There are many people who only read the Bible at home and get close to God. But I think everyone should slowly ponder what is said in Revelation, which is about building the victorious church! I have written three books, Revelation Bible Study, which includes three volumes, the first, middle, and last. These three books talk about the revelation of building the victorious church.

When Moses built the tabernacle, God revealed to Moses that he should build the tabernacle according to the pattern that God revealed to him on the mountain, and the glory of God filled the tabernacle. Later, God also revealed to David how to build God's temple. Later, Solomon built the temple according to the revelation that David received from God, and the temple was filled with God's glory. Today, when we build the church, we are building God's temple. We cannot build it according to our own ideas! If we build it according to our own ideas, can God dwell there?

Many people have built their churches and found that the church does not have God's glory. If you build according to your own ideas, how can God's glory descend? It's like you are renovating my house, and you have to renovate it according to my ideas, right? If you want to build a temple for God, you have to build it according to God's ideas, right? What did Solomon say? How great is God, how can He dwell in the temple built by my hands? Therefore, we must build God's temple according to God's will, so that God's glory will fill it.

What God Says, We Do

Everyone must know that God is a wonderful God. We regard knowing Jesus Christ as the most precious treasure, and we consider everything else as rubbish. Can worldly things solve the problem of living? It's difficult. Doctors cannot solve too many problems, but our God is omnipotent. You may think I'm boasting, but if I were to boast, I wouldn’t boast about this. This is not boasting; it's many real things that have happened among us. If I were to tell such stories, there would be so many. If you listen to my sermons, you will find that there are many, many practical examples in my sermons.

Once, I went to a company to look at its software. While I was looking at the software, a sister's child sprained their foot at school, and the foot immediately became bruised and swollen. She brought the child back from school and posted a message online asking who could pray for her. When I saw it, I immediately contacted her. At that time, I was in a meeting. I asked everyone to wait for a few minutes while I ministered to this person, and then I would come back to the meeting. Unexpectedly, my boss disagreed and insisted on watching me to see what I was going to do.

As a result, a few minutes later, the child's foot was healed, and they were jumping around. My boss was right next to me, and he stopped the meeting to watch me minister. Then he grabbed my hand and said excitedly, You are the pastor I've been looking for! I've been searching for someone like you! As a result, he bought me a plane ticket and took me to see a friend of his with a serious illness.

What I want to say is that practicing God's word is better than interpreting it with scripture. What does the Hebrew say? What does the Greek say? What's the use of that? It might have some use, and some people like to hear it, but I don't think it solves the problem.

Only practice is useful. How great it would be if everyone would read God's word and then put it into practice! Not just in believing in the Lord, but in all aspects of life. As Jack Ma said, A thousand roads before bed, the same road in the morning. If you don't put it into practice, then I think your dreams will remain just dreams! We must begin to learn to implement and practice. Practicing faith is a very beautiful thing. How do we practice faith? By imitating Jesus.

The Chinese talk about a master leading a disciple, but we call them disciples. A disciple learns from the master. Whatever the master does, we do the same, right? The Korean word is even more interesting. There is no word for disciple in Korean. Disciple sounds so lofty! Koreans call them students. If a student is not like the master, a disciple is not like the master, can that work? So we must imitate!

Jesus asks us to imitate Him, and Paul asks us to imitate him, so we begin to walk the path of imitation. Why do we imitate? Because we want to practice. If we follow a carpenter to learn carpentry, we must do what he does. If the carpenter does it this way, and you insist on doing it differently, the carpenter will fire you. So, what I want to tell everyone is that Jesus wants us to imitate Him, which makes things easy. We imitate, and we will become more and more like Him. If we don't look like Him today, it doesn't matter; one day, we will look very much like Him. This is the path I have walked.

Practice is incomparably good. We know that the development of science is through experimentation. We first have a conjecture, assuming it is so, and then we practice. The phenomenon that occurs is reconciled with the theory. Every time we do it according to that theory, the results are the same. This is called consistency, and then we summarise that the underlying principle is like this.

Once we summarise that the underlying principle is like this, and we use this principle to implement it, you will get the same result every time. This is how science develops. If you press a switch, and the light turns on the first time, but the next time you press the switch, the light doesn't turn on, and the next time you press the switch, the light turns on again, what does that indicate? Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. This is a random event.

Brothers and sisters, if you go back and read the Bible, you will find that everyone who came to Jesus was healed. I was very confused at the time because not everyone who came to me was healed, but everyone who came to Jesus was healed. Why? Because Jesus grasped the essence, but we did not grasp the essence. Later, as I gradually understood and grasped this essence, I found that everyone who came to me was also healed.

Was this because I pursued healing? No, it was because I pursued being like Jesus. Brothers and sisters must begin to grasp the essence of things. The essence is faith. Practicing faith is practicing faith, which is believing in God's word. We believe what God says, and we implement what God says. It's as simple as that.

We Must Imitate Jesus

I say to everyone again, healing and deliverance are the word of God. Many people think that I have this gift, but they don't, so everyone ministers to their own, and I minister to my own. I thought, if you minister and don't look like Jesus, did Jesus ask you to do it? Sometimes I speak harshly. Does the Bible record that Jesus led a group of people, wearing bright trousers, holding big colourful fans, jumping, and shouting on the stage? Is there such a thing? No!

What was Jesus doing? He did something very interesting. He trained 12 disciples and sent them out to preach the gospel, heal the sick, and cast out demons. This was the first batch of training. Later, Jesus trained a second batch, training 70 people. I thought this time it wouldn't be preaching the gospel, healing the sick, and casting out demons, right? But when I looked at the Bible, it was still going out to preach the gospel, heal the sick, and cast out demons. In 2019, if Jesus were to train another batch of disciples, it would still be going out to preach the gospel, heal the sick, and cast out demons. Why? Because healing the sick and casting out demons is God's way of releasing His people from the oppression of the devil, and it is a key component of the gospel.

Did Jesus divide family property for people? No. Did Jesus manage people's abortions? It seems not. Did Jesus manage people's violations of the Sabbath? It seems not. Jesus managed going out to preach the gospel, heal the sick, and cast out demons, letting the captives be released and the oppressed be set free. This is Jesus Christ's definition of the church.

Speaking of this, you will find that I am a person who likes to grasp concepts. Unclear concepts, unclear strategies, and wrong methods are the tragedy of a person's life. We must have very clear goals, clear concepts, clear strategies, and the right methods, and then what you do will be right. If anything goes wrong, the plane will crash. This is why the Boeing 737 was grounded. You can't mess around! If the theme of the New Testament is to build a victorious church, then we return to Jesus Christ's definition of the church. What is this definition?

And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. (Matthew 16:18-19)

Today, if we take a closer look at the church, we find that the building of this church often gets the concept wrong. What does it mean that you have this gift, so you can do healing and deliverance, and I don't have this gift, so I can't do healing and deliverance? That's not the definition of the church. Up until now, you will find that I am indeed a scholar, right? I like to grasp the essence and grasp concepts. When we do this, many phenomena can be explained clearly. For example, some pastors get cancer, and many people say that God has taken him back to heaven. Does the Bible write that? It seems not.

Everyone begins to speculate about what I say. There was a tragedy: a good friend of mine who is a pastor got cancer and prayed every day, God, should I do chemotherapy? Think about it: a God in heaven, who became flesh for our diseases, bore the scourge, and we are healed by his stripes, and then we have to ask God whether to treat with radiation or chemotherapy? What should our God think! How can you not know that Jesus Christ is the greatest doctor? You ask the greatest doctor to let a small doctor treat themselves. Don't you think the greatest doctor will want to kick you out? This generation is really sad.

There is a very important passage in the Bible: Interpreting spiritual things with spiritual words. Since I was a child, I have had a lot of understanding of the spiritual realm. Before I believed in the Lord, I had many experiences of understanding the spiritual realm. I was very surprised how accurate fortune tellers were. It turns out that not only are ghosts real in the spiritual realm, but God is also real. Because I knew there were ghosts and gods since I was a child, I knew before I believed in the Lord that I was looking for the greatest God.

Some small gods can help people, but often they can't. It would be better for me to find the greatest God. Later, I really knew that Jesus Christ is that greatest God, who created all things in the universe, became flesh, came to earth to shed blood and sacrifice, and then resurrected from the dead, opening up a true and living way for us. So, the power of Hades brought by these diseases cannot overcome us. Brothers and sisters, this is a great piece of good news. Trust in Jesus, and walk according to God's word, and I tell you that disease has no way to overcome you.

So, brothers and sisters, it really is a tragedy that we have a treasure but don't know it's a treasure. When have you ever seen Jesus take a group of doctors to treat diseases? Jesus alone took care of it, didn't he? How powerful our Jesus is! Someone says, How many Jesus are there? Just one, right? Paul also had just one, right? So, they think that in this world, we are not Jesus, we are not Paul, so Jesus can do it, Paul can do it, but we can't do it. Isn't it God's intention for us to imitate? This is a very important concept. Not being like Jesus, I tell you, is a very dangerous thing.

When I went to buy property, I met a property developer who was also a Christian. He liked to read my books very much. He asked me a question at the time. He said that a pastor said that only one person out of 1000 goes to heaven, and 999 go to hell. He asked me what I thought about this. I said, Brother, I haven't been there, so how would I know? I don't know; I haven't seen it! He was very disappointed and asked if I had an answer. I told him: Live like Jesus when you are alive, and go to Jesus after you die; live like the devil when you are alive, and go to the devil after you die.

We should ask ourselves, are we like Jesus? You say you believe in Jesus, you are a disciple of Jesus, so do you have the appearance of Jesus on you? Don't be like one of Jesus' disciples named Judas who betrayed Jesus; that would be troublesome. So, brothers and sisters, begin to thirst to be like Jesus. We cannot do it on our own, but with God, God will surely make us like Jesus, because that is God's will.

Grasp the Most Important Truth

Since we rely on every word that comes from the mouth of God, we begin to form a logical system, and then we look in this logical system to see which are the important truths and which are the less important truths. If this truth is big, we must put it in a big place. We cannot mix small truths with big truths. If we treat small truths as big and big truths as small, that is called putting the cart before the horse. So how does Jesus criticise the Pharisees?

Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. (Matthew 23:23)

Don't always grasp at trivial matters and split hairs. The most important thing is to know what God wants.

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. (Micah 6:8)

What does it mean to walk with your God? It means that your thoughts and intentions must be the same as God's. We must know that there are big and small truths. Tithing is a very small truth, but today's Christians cannot even implement this very small truth. I tell you that everyone in our church tithes. Why? Because tithing is worth it!

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. (Romans 12:1)

How is it not true and proper to offer your bodies? It is all for our own benefit. We receive life, we receive benefits, is this not true? Does God need our offerings very much? No, we need to offer. Does God need us to offer ourselves completely? If I don't offer myself completely, will he be angry and go hungry? No. We need to offer ourselves completely to God. That is to consecrate ourselves to the Lord.

Some people mess up the order of these large and small truths. So what does it mean to build a system of faith? Put foundational things on the foundation, just like building a house. The foundation is important, the main beam is important, the pillars are important, and the poured floor slabs are important. Then add a small shear wall inside, hang a painting on the wall... These things are all minor. Of course, if you want to do renovations, remember one thing: anything related to water and electricity must be done right. If the electricity doesn't work or the water doesn't work, it will leak and flood everything below. That would be troublesome. So, brothers and sisters, understand the truths in the Bible. You must know which are very important truths and get the sizes right.

For example, Saul was hated by God, but what about David? David seemed to have committed a more serious crime than Saul in the eyes of people, but in the eyes of God, the sin Saul committed was more serious than the sin David committed. Why? Because Saul committed disobedience, and disobedience is a serious sin in the eyes of God. David killed Uriah and then married Uriah's wife. Later, Uriah's wife gave birth to Solomon, and Solomon succeeded David as king. We are really surprised, and it is difficult for us to understand God's will. David did such a immoral thing, how could it turn out like this? Such things are also sins, but compared to the sins Saul committed, they are relatively small.

So, brothers and sisters, you must have a sense of priority. I will not share with you which are important and which are not important because there are too many truths. The most fundamental thing is the path of faith that Abraham opened up for us. What do we believe in? It is the word of God. If a person does not know God in their life, it is vanity of vanities. So, we need to find the meaning of living. This meaning of living is to live for God. This is our Mingding Destiny.

According to God's word, become a blessing to others. This is our Mingding Destiny. So, among us, it is definitely not some gospel of grace. Someone asked if this is the gospel of grace. I don't know what the definition of the gospel of grace is. Our gospel is the gospel of paying the price, offering ourselves completely to God, and being courageous in practicing faith. What kind of people does Jesus want? Jesus wants those who, for the sake of Jesus and for the sake of the kingdom of God, forsake everything they can forsake.

Truly I tell you,” Jesus said to them, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children 或 fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life. (Mark 10:29-30)

God does not mean for us to forsake, but for us to gain. This is the word of God. What can you get without paying a price? If farmers don't sow in the spring, will they wait to harvest grass in the fall? Sowing is also done with faith. So, brothers and sisters, begin to live in a faith that pays the price, not a faith that does not pay the price. Can you be like Jesus without paying a price? Jesus offered his life, was nailed to the cross, and paid a painful price for us so that we could receive life. So, the faith of Jesus Christ is a faith that pays the price. Abraham offered his only son Isaac; that was paying a price.

Begin to learn to know one thing: God is full of grace and mercy among us, but we must fulfill our responsibility to keep and obey God's words. The foundation of this lies in our belief in God's word. If you don't believe, and you still want to keep and obey, then you will not be able to obey. Not only will you not be able to obey, but you will also be very painful. Why am I happy to obey, but you are very painful? Because one believes and one does not believe. Because I believe, I know this is a great grace for me. If you don't believe, you will think this is a very painful price.

Establish a Godly System of Faith

A worldly system and a godly system cannot be reconciled. The kingdom of God is not built by repairing and mending in this world. The kingdom of God is to destroy the kingdoms of this world and rebuild His kingdom. So, brothers and sisters, sometimes you will feel very contradictory. Why is this? Because what is inside us is a worldly logical system. So, when we read God's word, it is difficult for us to accept. I wrote a book. Chapters 1 to 11 of Genesis are called Unbelief is the Root of Human Problems. People will be confused if they do not believe in God's word.

What is inside people? What is installed is ethics, not Mingding Destiny. So, when we read that Tamar disguised herself as a prostitute and gave birth to Zerah and Perez from Judah, we have never seen the apostles and Jesus in the Bible criticise Tamar for disguising herself as a prostitute and sleeping with her father-in-law. According to today's moral ethics, it is unacceptable, but what did God say? Through the Bible, we see that Judah said: She is more righteous than I am. It is difficult for us to understand, isn't it? Because Tamar is a person with Mingding Destiny, she must have children from the house of Judah no matter what, and she must become a blessing to all nations and peoples on earth. What she wants to pass on is God's covenant.

If we establish a godly system, establish a system with Mingding Destiny, then the problem of Tamar disguising herself as a prostitute and giving birth to children from Judah, the problem of Abraham offering Isaac, and the problem of Jacob deceiving his father to receive blessings can all be easily solved. But if we have not established such a godly system of faith, we will criticise Jacob for deceiving people, but God has never criticised Jacob; on the contrary, God blessed him.

If we establish a God-centred system, many problems will be easily solved. Unbelief is the root of all problems. Believe in God, and then implement it, and we will live out the glorious image of God. God is restoring His glorious image in this generation. What we believe in today is not the God of the Tao Te Ching, but the God described in the Bible. We begin to walk out of the worldly logical system and begin to build a complete, godly system of faith through the word of God. This is called Chinese Mingding Destiny, may God bless everyone.
