【Bible Study】Revelation 11 - The Mystery of God's Kingdom is Accomplished

2018-03-15 65,421 Revelation Capacity Divine Sovereignty Oneness The Heart of Agape Imitating Jesus The Mystery of God

Life is often filled with bewilderment:

“Where do people go after death? Heaven or hell? Or is it simply annihilation, returning to dust?”

“Is there truly eternal life? What is the meaning of life? Is it merely eating, drinking, and being merry?”

“The Bible says that God's judgment will come, and the whole world will be destroyed by God. Recently, there is a rumour that the Third World War will break out in five years. Is it true? Will Christians be raptured to heaven when the end of the world comes?”

The answers to all these questions lie in the mystery of God. Throughout the ages, God has gradually revealed this mystery through the prophets. In this chapter of Revelation, after the seventh angel blows his trumpet, the mystery of God will be fulfilled. At that time, what is corruptible will become incorruptible, what is mortal will become immortal, and what lacks glory will become glorious. Then the time will come for God's servants, prophets, saints, and all who fear His name, both small and great, to be rewarded. Wow, that's great. I eagerly await the early arrival of this day. The answers to all your questions will be revealed when this mystery is fulfilled.

So, what exactly is this mystery of God?

When I read the Bible, I like to grasp the theme of each passage. If you fail to grasp the most important but seize the least important, you will read it like the Pharisees, believe it or not. If you grasp the least important, and even replace the important with the secondary, then you are basically a Pharisee. Why? Because the Pharisees abandoned the important truths and seized the unimportant ones.

What do we see from Jesus' criticism of the Pharisees? These Pharisees tithed mint, dill, and cumin, but they neglected the more important matters: mercy and justice! God is a God full of grace and mercy. The key is to implement our lives as Christians according to God's priorities.

Imitate Jesus

Later I concluded that people are either like Jesus or unlike Jesus. If you can be like Jesus, you get it right. If you end up being like the Pharisees, it's trouble.

Because these Pharisees are hypocrites, woe to them! What is hypocrisy? It is losing the core essence of faith. We imitate the Apostle Paul, why? To be like Jesus! Because the Apostle Paul imitates God and Jesus Christ. Therefore, God wants to restore His glorious image in us.

Someone asks, “What is salvation?” Some say salvation is going to heaven after death! I say no. Why do I say no? Because from Genesis to Revelation, I discovered a mystery, which is the people God created, from the very beginning, Adam and Eve, had the image of God! But they forgot that they originally had the image of God, and the devil deceived them, so they lived out the image of the devil. Once they had the image of the devil, they lost the image of God.

Then you ask me, “What is redemption?” Redemption is God restoring in us the glorious image of God that Adam and Eve were originally meant to possess! Our God is the God of the living (cf. Psalm 27:13), not a God who sends us to heaven after death! Our Lord Jesus became flesh and came to earth as an example for us. Christians should be like this, living like Jesus. So the Lord Jesus said, The works I have been doing, you shall do also; and greater works than these you shall do (John 14:12). How well said!

Set Priorities

If everyone reads the Bible and grasps the most important things, and then grasps all the important things in order, that's powerful! The most fatal thing about people is not knowing how to set priorities.

When I was doing corporate management, I often observed whether my subordinates could set priorities. There is a big difference between setting priorities and not setting priorities. For example, if a person always does unimportant things and always puts the important things last, then he will not achieve anything in those important things.

It's like playing chess. When I was in college, there was a Southerner who always pushed pawns and always lost. Why? Because he always grabbed the unimportant things. The important thing is to arrange the troops and deploy chariots, horses, and cannons, right? It's the same with playing Go. You have to play the most important move every time, so there is a saying in Go: Golden corner, silver edge, grass belly, meaning that the corners around are the most important. So you see, when the first piece goes down, no one puts it in the middle of the board. If he puts it in the middle of the board, he will definitely lose. Why? Because that's not important, that's what you do later.

So today we know that playing the most important move in chess will win. It's the same with being a person. If you always grab the unimportant things in your life, you will be miserable!

Ability

If you can't grasp the main points when reading the Bible, then this Christian will be miserable. So what should Christians do? I started to sort out what God cares about most, what God cares about second, third, and fourth. So my theological concepts are to reorganize and sort out the word of God.

So what is the most important thing about the Gospel? The most important thing is power. In the Bible, you will read about cases of power again and again: Moses performed ten miracles in Egypt and brought the Israelites out of Egypt. Could he have done it without power? When Jesus came to earth, the miracles He performed were also shocking: feeding five thousand people with five loaves and two fish, walking on water, doing healing and deliverance, amazing!

So I have a deep desire to one day do what Jesus did! Some people laugh at me, You? You little thing can do what Jesus did? How many Jesuses are there? I know there is only one Jesus, but is it wrong for me to imagine being like Jesus? And God also told me that He hopes I can be like Him. Isn't it?

God's Mystery

Revelation Chapter 11 is a very important chapter. What is the focus of this chapter? It's called when the seventh angel blows the trumpet, the mystery of God will be fulfilled. In fact, this sentence was said in Chapter 10:

But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets. (Revelation 10:7)

So the gospel we believe in will be fulfilled at this time, which is so exciting! I tell you, I have no interest in eating, drinking, and playing at all! You ask me, “Then what do you live for?” Because I have a deep desire to see the mystery of God fulfilled while I am alive! If the mystery of God is fulfilled, then what is mortal will become immortal, what is corruptible will become incorruptible, what lacks glory will become glorious, and then the time will come for God's servants, prophets, saints, and all who fear His name, both small and great, to be rewarded!

Wow! I said this is great, I can't wait for this day to come, I said, God! Let this day come soon! Some people say, This world is so good! What's so good about it? According to the Bible—this world will be destroyed by God, so what exactly is the mystery of God? Today I will tell you what the mystery of God is.

Measure the Love for God

And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles. (Revelation 11:1-2)

Tonight, when I lead you to study Revelation, I didn't know the meaning of measure. I asked, God? What should I measure? God! You have to tell me what to measure! God said, Measure your love for God! Then if you ask, How do you know? Oh! I thought, God, what do you want to measure? God's word came: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great commandment (Matthew 22:37-38), isn't it? And what else should I measure? That is Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, that's called the Great Commission.

This measures the Great Commandment! It measures how much this person loves God? The more you love God, the more God loves you! Don't you say that God loves the world? But God also knows who loves Him, God has prepared for those who love Him: things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, and which have not entered into the heart of man

When the angel comes to measure me with a rod at that time, I hope God can give me a very good evaluation. According to the amount God gives me, give me a reward. Our God is great, He is not a muddle-headed God.

How do I live in this world? In the future, an angel will come to measure how much love for God is in my heart. I really love God in my heart, to the point of madness. So when I serve, I use all my heart, mind, and strength. I give myself completely to God. Some people will say I'm stupid, but I'm not stupid. When you have the opportunity to meet me and see my eyes, you will feel that I am thinking about things in my mind. I have figured out that the mystery of God is that in the last days, His servants, prophets, all who fear His name will be rewarded, and I also hope to be rewarded.

For example, if someone works for a year, some people get very little year-end bonus at the end of the year, while others get a lot. This depends on how much work you have done. In corporate management, it is called KPI. All companies will evaluate and measure. Our God is a management master, and after measuring, He will give rewards. The mystery of God is that the effects of our busyness in this world follow us into eternity.

I tell brothers and sisters that the root of measuring is God's requirement of us, to implement according to His standards. God's standards are all in God's words. God is measuring according to what? It is according to truth, first important, second important, third important...So God will definitely measure the Great Commandment and the Great Commission. Although our lives are busy with work all day long, I don't think God will measure work issues, because it's not said in the Bible, but to measure how much we love God in our hearts. If you love God, God knows.

Loving God Means Desiring to Be One with God

Loving God means desiring to be one with God, love will bring people into God and be one with God. Don't think that if you believe without love, God will know you, the key to faith is love. Loving God is the most important thing! How is loving God loving God? It is because of believing! Faith is the foundation, loving God is the goal.

Those without requirements are Gentiles. If God has no requirements of you, then there is no need to measure, because you are outside, an outsider. There is a big difference between people in the family and people outside. Things of the world not only make the Gentiles angry, but God's wrath will also come upon them. Another thing about the mystery of God is that when He gives rewards to His people, He gives anger to the Gentiles in the same way. This is the mystery of God.

If you love God to the point of being willing to die for God, then this love is really great. But are Christians willing to lay down their lives today? That is a billion-dollar decision, or rather, a decision that cannot be measured by money. Why? Because when the mystery of God is fulfilled, you will find that how much real estate you have, how much money you have, these are useless.

At this time, two witnesses are mentioned:

These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth. (Revelation 11:4)

What exactly does this sentence mean? There are two things I can say clearly: the two olive trees are two anointed ones, and the two lampstands are two churches. These can be checked in the scriptures. Two anointed ones lead two churches. What is an anointed one? People who take on the Mingding Destiny are called anointed ones. If there is Mingding Destiny on him, it is called anointing. When the Bible talks about anointing, it is appointment, issuing a Mingding Destiny to complete: anointing David to make David the king of Israel; anointing Saul to make Saul the king of Israel.

Today, brothers and sisters, know that the church and the anointed one are also very clearly stated in Revelation 11. These two anointed ones and two churches are very powerful. The gospel we believe in today is a very powerful gospel. If you say you believe in a powerless gospel, then you must have believed wrongly. Look carefully in the Bible. Some people think that the Christian faith should be reformed, to be reformed to Martin Luther's place, but I think reformation should be reformed to the Apostle Paul's place, and reformed to Paul's place is not enough, but also to Jesus Christ's place.

So brothers and sisters, we should return to the Bible. All the Gospels in the Bible, as well as Romans and 1 Corinthians, this gospel is powerful. What I said is all clear evidence of the power of the Holy Spirit. Today I am working hard to prove and live out the power of this gospel, so that many people can be healed and delivered. This is my desire and pursuit.

The Church and the Anointed Ones Preach a Powerful Gospel

The Church and the anointed ones preach a powerful gospel, which is the mystery of God. These two anointed ones can, during their days of preaching, shut up the heavens so that it does not rain, turn water into blood, and at any time and place strike the world with all kinds of plagues. Many people do not understand: “How can this gospel be like this? Is it going to torment the world?”

In fact, God will not only torment this world, but also destroy it. The Book of Revelation in the Bible speaks of the destruction of this world. God's destruction of the world is recorded twice in the Bible: the first time was in the days of Noah, when Noah's family was saved. Very few people were saved, and the whole earth was destroyed. Only Noah's family was saved, which was a very tragic destruction. The other time was in the days of Lot, when only Lot and his two daughters were saved, because Lot's wife turned into a pillar of salt, and the entire Sodom was destroyed.

Two anointed ones in the church carry destinies. What is Mingding Destiny? God uses plagues to strike the world, letting people know that humans are different from beasts, that humans have eternal life. When plagues strike the world, people do not want to see this. Do you want plagues to strike the world, or do you want world peace? Guo Degang said in his crosstalk that some people seek peace in the world. I also think world peace is good, but from the essence of the Bible, this matter does not depend on our free will. God will use plagues to strike the world.

Removing the Logic of the World

Encourage our brothers and sisters not to stand on the wrong side, because who are you going to find when you make a mistake? We must stand on God's side and be faithful and good disciples of God, and God will reward us. I believe we will be rewarded because I have a deep understanding of the spiritual realm.

When the seventh trumpet is blown, the victorious church will be raptured. When the two anointed ones are killed, they will not give up their faith in God. Because they know that they will rise from the dead. We all have the opportunity to rise from the dead and be caught up into the air, so that what is perishable will become imperishable, and what is without glory will become glorious.

These two anointed ones are killed by the beast from the bottomless pit. And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt (Revelation 11:8). After the anointed ones are killed, the whole world rejoices and celebrates, because these two prophets had tormented those who dwell on the earth, and the miracles they performed were like those of Moses and Elijah.

We see that the people on earth not only do not wake up and repent, but also rejoice and celebrate. This is standing on the wrong side, because they are all worldly and fleshly, and cannot be united with the spiritual. The fleshly wicked live in the world, and the spiritual live in God. When a person closes his eyes, he has nothing to do with the world.

What I said earlier about the church and the anointed ones is a powerful gospel. I preach the gospel today with the power of God, so signs and wonders follow me. I know that I will die in the future, but I will surely be resurrected, so I am not afraid of death. What are people concerned about when they live in eternity? I long to leave the world and go to God. Do not love the world. Eating, drinking, and playing are meaningless.

I have a friend who lives in a house worth ten million Singapore dollars by the sea. I don't think it's meaningful. Some people insist on buying business class when they travel. I think it's all the same. I can sit on a hard seat on a train. It's not that my requirements are low, but that I don't value these things. The way animals die and live is the same as us. What I value is God's will in my life. I long for Mingding Destiny to be God's anointed one.

Three and a half days after these two people died, a miraculous thing happened: they were resurrected and ascended to heaven in a cloud, and those who saw them were afraid. Just like the mythology written in Journey to the West that I saw when I was a child, the Bible also has it, and we believe it as it is written.

Those who are afraid of death live in the bondage of death; those who are not afraid of death are not bound by death. The power of our Lord Jesus to rise from the dead will be manifested in our lives. We must know for sure that our God reigns.

Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” And the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying: “We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who is and who was and who is to come, because You have taken Your great power and reigned (Revelation 11:15-17).

The mystery that God revealed through the prophets of all ages was fulfilled when the seventh angel blew his trumpet. There is a considerable possibility that our generation should be able to see it. If a person is not afraid of death, what else is he afraid of? If a person can see through death, what can he not see through? If a person sees through death, is not afraid of death, and believes that he can rise from the dead, then how freely he lives in this world.

So our God rose from the dead to prove to us that death is not terrible. A neighbor of mine in his 50s got cancer. Before he died, not only did he not want to die, but he also had a deep fear of death, wailing like a ghost. It was really miserable.

Today, everyone must know that our God reigns. This is the key. All our good things are in God. Do not stand on the wrong side. When the seventh angel blows the trumpet, the time for punishment and reward has come. Some people are very greedy for other people's houses, property, wives, etc., but they do not like to love God. How terrible it is when God's wrath comes upon them and judges them! What God has prepared for such people is the lake of fire and brimstone.

God is indeed full of mercy, but God has to take a rod and measure whether you pass the test. So, brothers and sisters, do not think that our God has no requirements. Our God has very high requirements. He is restoring the glorious image of God on His people. I long to live out the glorious image of God.

This is having a concept of death, a concept of the church, and a clear understanding of God's requirements, that punishment and reward are distinct, and you will seek a victorious path. If you are a Christian, be a victorious Christian; if you build a church, build a victorious church; if you are an anointed one, be a victorious anointed one, who does not care about death and will rise from the dead.

In Revelation 11, if you have not been raptured, then you must either choose martyrdom or stand on the side of the devil and bear God's wrath. After Revelation 11, if one day, on television or the Internet, you see two anointed ones ascending to heaven on clouds, and find that everyone is talking about it: the bodies of the two anointed ones stayed in that place for three and a half days, and then breath entered them again, and the two anointed ones ascended to heaven on clouds.

If the rapture has nothing to do with you, then gnash your teeth: Why not overcome? Why be entangled in worldly affairs? Why love the world and these things? Why work so hard to make money? Even if you earn more, it will only be for three and a half years. By Revelation Chapter 11, this world has seven years left: the preachers preach for 1260 days, that is, 3.5 years; in the following 3.5 years, God's seven bowls will be poured out to destroy the world.

So we must establish a victorious concept. What we preach is a victorious theology, not just a saved one. Paul spoke of salvation, and the first three chapters of Revelation spoke of how the victorious ones are, so victory is the key, and victory can only be achieved through the Lord Jesus! To be victorious, the worldly concepts in you must change, otherwise, good luck to you.

God's punishment and reward go hand in hand, grace and wrath go hand in hand. Know that our God is not only full of grace and mercy, but He is also a consuming fire, so strive to love the Lord your God, because that is the standard by which God measures you. Do not love the world, for if you love the world, the love of God is not in you. Some people love houses, and even give their lives for houses. That is a very, very low level.

Can we climb the mountain of the Lord today and enter the temple of the God of Jacob? If you want to, tidy up your faith, strengthen yourself again, and in these days on earth, begin to expect God to reign in our lives. Although our work and service are tiring, the effect will follow us forever, Amen! May God remember us!
