Introduction

I have come to realise the magnificence of God's Word. Nothing in this world is more precious. If your business is failing, you have health problems, financial issues, family problems, or work problems, it is because you have not heeded God's Word. All spiritual matters are related to God's Word. You must train yourself to have a rigorous attitude, especially when reading God's Word. Rigor is a crucial attitude.

Yesterday, I received a brother who has been a believer for many years and comes from a very traditional church, supposedly evangelical. How did the evangelical movement come about? Many years ago, in seminaries, a group stood up and said: If Jesus died, the 《Bible》 is not the Word of God. Then another group of theologians stood up and said: The 《Bible》 is the Word of God, the 《Bible》 is truth, and eventually, the evangelical movement was formed.

The problem with evangelicals is that they speak well, but they cannot put it into practice. When Jesus touched someone, they were healed, but when we touch someone, how come they die? The 《Bible》 says: The gospel we believe is the power of God to save all who believe. We also believe, so why does it not work? It is because they are not rigorous, not implementing according to God's Word. They accept what they can and reject what they cannot, so how can it work? Just one thing, speaking in tongues in prayer, throws these people into confusion. Speaking in tongues comes from evil spirits, speaking in tongues should be done this way or that way... The《Bible》does not say any of that, it is simply not rigorous!

I am a very rigorous person, having studied aircraft design. Rigor is essential in dealing with satellites, high-speed trains, and automobiles. Today, the God's Word we read is so mighty, our God is the God who controls all things in the universe, and the gospel we believe is the power of God to save all who believe. Our God cannot be lax, so today I am speaking on the theme 《Trembling at God's Word》, because God's Word carries power. Believing in the Lord is like a high-voltage line. When high-voltage electricity is used in the right place, it releases energy and can generate productivity.

Yesterday, this brother called me, having heard from his brother-in-law that I can heal senile dementia. When my mother had senile dementia, my faith was on the verge of dying. Thank the Lord! A smoldering wick he will not snuff out. Seeing the elderly with senile dementia, I said: Our God is the God who can raise people from the dead, what is senile dementia? I will believe in the mighty gospel and manifest the mighty gospel, this makes perfect sense. But to believe in the mighty gospel to the point that it is not the gospel, and still call it evangelical, is that not fatal? This brother told me that his father has senile dementia, and his family is in utter chaos.

We are Christians, do you truly believe that our God can solve all problems? I believe! Prayers have been answered with healing. I am someone who trembles at God's Word. How can I read the 《Bible》 and not see that I am not like Jesus? We built an airplane that cannot fly, do we know that? We do! As for what denomination we belong to, that is not important. What is important is to be like Jesus, to tremble at God's Word.

Many years ago, I said weakly to someone: I want to be like Jesus. Then that person looked at me with disdain. My faith was already insufficient, weak, like a deflated balloon. But going back to read the 《Bible》, it says we should emulate Jesus!
That is what it says. No matter how many people laugh, we must be like Jesus!

Then this brother came to me. He has been in a traditional church for many years and is deeply poisoned! These people distort God's Word! They read simple words in a very complex way. He said: Speaking in tongues comes from demons. I asked him if he could speak in tongues. He could not. This is very strange.

Scripture

Thus says the Lord: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What house will you build for me? And where will be my place of rest? All these things my hand has made, and so all these things came into being, declares the Lord. But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word. “He who slaughters an ox is like one who kills a man; he who sacrifices a lamb, like one who breaks a dog’s neck; he who presents a grain offering, like one who offers pig’s blood; he who makes a memorial offering of frankincense, like one who blesses an idol. These have chosen their own ways, and their souls delight in their abominations; I also will choose harsh treatment for them and bring upon them what they fear, because, when I called, no one answered, when I spoke, they did not listen; but they did what was evil in my eyes and chose that in which I did not delight.” Hear the word of the Lord, you who tremble at his word: “Your brothers who hate you and cast you out for my name’s sake have said, ‘Let the Lord be glorified, that we may see your joy’; but it is they who shall be put to shame.(《Isaiah》 66:1-5)

Prayer

Lord Jesus, speak to us personally today. Let us all approach your word with a rigorous attitude. However you speak, that is how we must carefully obey and follow. We believe that what you say is truth and life. Give us a heart of reverence today, that we may choose reverence within us, choose to carefully obey and follow your word, choose to tremble at your word. There is still much within us that needs adjustment. May you work within us, write your word on the tablets of our hearts, so that we may live out your image and become a blessing to this generation in this world. Amen!

Our Foundation of Faith is God's Sovereignty

There is something very precious within me. The foundation of our faith is that God is in control of all things, but it is truly not easy to live out this sentence. To become a blessing to this generation is the meaning of life. Traveling abroad, the cities in all countries are similar, the villages in all countries are also similar, the food is also similar, all for filling the stomach, carrying a suitcase and being tired, it really is not very meaningful.

Living also has no meaning, just do one thing, study God's Word, and then act according to God's Word. When I was still working, I thought I would build a church while working, just preach on Sundays, only work 2 hours a week, many people do that. I know a pastor who turns off his phone at 10pm sharp, but I find that needs usually arise in the second half of the night, so my phone has to be on 24 hours a day. Actually, serving God is like that. Among so many people, my body is really strong. Because I learned a very deep lesson here, God's Word cannot be taken lightly; it is not just working two hours a week and going up to talk nonsense.

On Friday's Bible study, I told a joke about ice cream, and some sisters told me that the ice cream joke was very funny. I was afraid in my heart that they might only remember the ice cream and forget God's Word. After reading God's Word, do you not know that God's Word will release great power! This is more powerful than a nuclear power station! So we must tremble at God's Word. If we do not tremble and just deal with things carelessly, then there will be trouble. Do not deal with this carelessly. Do not joke about being a Christian. You must know that our God is very powerful.

But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word.(《Isaiah》 66:1-2)

After reading these words, we are so comforted! My life is so fulfilling! Because I know this God, I tremble at God's Word. So when I see those stiff legs and the senile dementia, there is only one thing in my mind: diseases must be healed. Even if my faith is like a smoldering wick, the 《Bible》 says that all who come to Jesus are healed. This is what God says.

Evil spirits are also ministering spirits. We must not exaggerate the work of evil spirits. Strategically despise the enemy, but tactically, we must take the enemy seriously. Evil spirits are created by God, and many problems on earth are related to evil spirits. Evil spirits are related to our disobedience to God's Word. Disobeying God's Word is a curse, and evil spirits will come to corrupt us. If God does not allow evil spirits to corrupt us, they cannot mess around. So we do not have to fear this or that. Our God is in control of all things. The foundation of faith is that God is sovereign.

Today, whether you are in debt or have physical ailments, you must know that the root cause of all problems is disobedience to God's Word. God looks upon those who tremble at God's Word, those who rigorously and carefully obey and follow God's Word. Why is it not tiring to carefully obey and follow God's Word? It is because we must believe in God's Word.

Many of us have problems. Do not be afraid, just be afraid of one thing, which is not carefully obeying and following God's Word. The God we believe in today is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Their faith in God is that God is capable of all things, and nothing can collapse.

Abraham’s wife was taken away, but he trusted in God, so he said nothing. We should not discern good and evil. Abraham did the right thing. Jacob went to his uncle’s house with a stick, and his salary was reduced ten times. However, he knew that God was still in control and clung to God, and later became extremely wealthy. Joseph was sold to Egypt, but he did not think there was a problem with this environment. Every time they encounter problems, there is no struggle in their hearts. They look at the environment and at God's Word. Looking at the environment makes them despair, but looking at God's Word fills them with hope.

We must begin to restore this foundation. No matter what kind of environment you encounter, you must know that our God is the God who controls all things in the universe. The reason why we are living such a miserable life today is because we have disobeyed God's Word. Tomorrow, restore one thing: God looks upon those who tremble at God's Word.

Rigorously Implement God's Word

We must not only restore this foundation of faith, but also rigorously implement it, not just perform superficial work. Playing with superficial work is very troublesome.

Thus says the Lord: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What house will you build for me? And where will be my place of rest? All these things my hand has made, and so all these things came into being, declares the Lord. But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word.(《Isaiah》 66:2)

Why must we be humble and contrite? Humility means feeling that we are not good enough. Some people feel that they are not good enough, and neither are others, not even God. Actually, our little things are not worth mentioning. The root cause of all problems today is self-righteousness. You think you are not good enough, and neither is God. This is such a fatal thing, must you not be humble and contrite?

The 《Bible》says that to set the mind on the flesh is death. You try to maintain your health by doing this and that, messing around yourself, but you still have many problems. Must you not be contrite? Because you have not trembled at God's Word! We often mess around according to our own will.

I am filled with despair for the medical system. I know the medical system too well. They do solve some problems, but the goal of medicine is to make money. After working hard all your life and saving money all your life, in the end, it all goes to the hospital. Medical fees in Singapore are super expensive.

Today, we do not know that we have a treasure in our hands. If you have lived a miserable life in the past, coming to church means that you know you have touched a treasure. However, some people touch the treasure and go back to grabbing the world. Then what will you do in the future?

The essence of living is to carefully obey and follow God's Word and reverence Him. Among us, there are so many miracles and wonders, so we feel that God is very powerful. The answers to all problems are with God. God is a treasure! The root cause of all problems is not carefully obeying and following God's Word, not trembling at God's Word. This is a serious problem.

Some people are afraid of ghosts but not afraid of God. As soon as they hear that speaking in tongues comes from demons, they are scared to death. Distorting God's Word is very serious and will be cursed. Distorting God's Word makes people feel comfortable! I do not like to say things that make people feel comfortable. I like to say things that make God feel comfortable.

Trembling at God's Word

Whether you tremble at God's Word or at your circumstances determines what you fear and what you revere. A dear pastor friend of mine contracted cancer. I spoke of trembling at God's Word, but he dared not confront his congregants, who would saunter in leisurely at 9:50 AM for a 9:00 AM gathering. Such behaviour would certainly get one expelled in our midst. The problem lies in the attitude within.

I teach all to tremble at God's Word, to be humble and contrite before God, and thereby become those whom God watches over. How blessed are those whom God watches over! Two things in this world must be clearly understood: those who diligently keep and follow God's Word will be blessed, but those who do not will be cursed. This is especially so for those who serve God.

These are the terms of the covenant the Lord commanded Moses to make with the Israelites in Moab, in addition to the covenant he had made with them at Horeb.(Deuteronomy 28:57-59)

Those who serve God must act as I have said. But you need not be afraid. We must have the right attitude; God knows our level. If you come among us as one who trembles at God's Word, can you not be watched over by God? Can your business not be watched over by God? Can your family not be watched over by God? Can your health and body not be watched over by God? How could God possibly send evil spirits to torment you? How could God possibly curse you?

God desires to bless us. But God has drawn a line; we must not skirt the edges and stand on the side of the curse. Stay far away from the curse and strive to enter into completeness. Do not distort God's Word. There are far too many examples of those who do.

When you visit a sick brother in the hospital, one afflicted by a cursed disease, I would say, Brother, you must be humble and contrite! You must tremble at God's Word! This is catering to the flesh, and to cater to the flesh is death. Repent quickly! If you desire to be freed, I will lead you in prayer! Thus, the root of all problems is one's attitude toward God's Word. Fearing to speak lest it causes discomfort. You must inherit this attitude from me.

A pastor once made dumplings for his congregants, but they said they did not like the pastor's dumplings; they preferred those with fish filling. The pastor then made fish-filled dumplings for them. He courted trouble by doing this, for it is catering to the flesh. How will he answer to God in the future?

This example has since become a litmus test, with half saying that the pastor was loving and the other half saying that he was catering to the flesh. Thus, we must understand God's Word. This is not love. I repair what is inside you, so that you may tremble at God's Word. We must never become those who cater to the flesh, nor should we speak rashly because of our circumstances. We must act as God directs!

Grasping the Essence, Being Precise

The way I manage everyone now, though strict, is to correct you so that you can grow more. Do not speak recklessly; act as God directs. David and Samuel acted entirely according to God's Word. Moses, in Leviticus, built the tabernacle in the wilderness according to God's Word, requiring sealskins, red coral, and all sorts of things. Moses listened and did it faithfully. How could he not have encountered difficulties? The tabernacle might have needed 50 pillars, but there was a great possibility that he could not find them all. This is my guess. I think if it were me, I might be imprecise and just leave it at that. But God's will is to test us, to see if we will follow His instructions. If we do not have a precise attitude, we can easily suffer losses.

Some people do not seek thorough understanding; they do not grasp the essence of anything, caring only about appearances. Moses was not like that. I believe Moses was one who did things precisely because of God's Word. He did not just go through the motions. The Bible says of such people:

He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog's neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine's blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. (Isaiah 66:3)

If you only go through the motions, you become they. Those who tremble at God's Word become you. God says that these people kill oxen but it is as if they slay a man; they sacrifice lambs but it is as if they cut off a dog's neck; they offer oblations but it is as if they offer swine's blood; they burn incense but it is as if they bless an idol.

Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations. (Isaiah 66:3)

Because the attitude in one's heart is very important. If you want to give offerings, do not do it carelessly. If you do not understand the meaning of offerings, then do not do it. We must know that we are platforms for distributing blessings, not for accumulating wealth. We are here to be a blessing to all nations and peoples on earth. I hope everyone will have a broad mind, trembling at God's Word. If we do not have a heart of reverence and think that we will starve if we do not give offerings, that is not the case. What is it that we hold in our hearts?

I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; (Isaiah 66:4)

The God we serve is a consuming fire. If we believe, we must do it for real; do not play games. I recently heard a testimony and felt that this brother had finally become one who trembled at God's Word. I have served some who do not tremble at God's Word. I left the church for a period of time, three months, to pastor some brothers and sisters, but some of these people left. We must act as God's Word directs. Building the new temple of Jerusalem cannot be done according to our own will, but according to God's will, trembling at God's Word, doing it for real.

Once, I went to minister to a child who suffered from seizures as a result of meningitis. A classmate of his, a girl, had been raped and thrown into a ditch on the roadside. Whenever this child passed that place, he would become frightened and then developed seizures after contracting meningitis. At that time, I contacted the child's pastor at ten o'clock but his phone was turned off. I called him the next day and he said that he had a habit of turning off his phone at a fixed time. Once, when his wife was sick, I prayed for her and she was healed. But another time, his wife threw her phone at their child's eye in a fit of anger, causing a bruise. I prayed for the child later and he was healed.

Removing False Appearances

It is truly necessary to remove hypocrisy. Is it according to one's own words or one's own meaning? When the giant Goliath stands before you, upon whom will you rely? The sky is God's, and the earth is God's footstool. God calls us, but no one answers. God speaks, but they do not listen. What is this all about? They claim to be Christians, but they do not listen to God's Word. Instead, they do what pleases themselves, and God will bring their fears upon them. As Christians, God can exalt us above all nations, but He can also bring us below all nations. Those whom I have observed can be divided into two categories: those of us who tremble at God's Word are those whom God exalts above all nations. And then there are those who hate us.

Hear the word of the Lord, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the Lord be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed. (Isaiah 66:5)

When I do business, I sometimes do not hire Christians. I once saw a Christian secretary who, when accompanying me, planned the route uncertainly and ended up missing the high-speed train. I do not hire Christian employees because I have seen many Christians who shame God in the workplace, and this is very serious. God has exalted many Christians above all nations. If you want to be a victorious Christian, I will strap you to the wing of an airplane and take you to the kingdom of God. Being shamed is not a good thing, and having fear come upon us is not a good thing. We fear what comes to pass. If we tremble at God's Word, God will be with us forever.

For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain. (Isaiah 66:22)

We must do what God has written in the Bible. Why should we do what is not written? I often see joint letters calling for the disappearance of homosexuality. God never said to do such a thing. Just as you see that Abraham did not do anything in Lot's city; in the end, it was all God's doing.

We are to build a holy and united church. Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? Today, we are to say to God that we want to build a place of rest for God, to come and be with us. Rest: God is with us, and God finds rest. We are with God, and we also find rest. But the crucial key here is: Trembling at God's Word!

Conclusion

Do not rush to pray for this problem of yours, to pray for that problem of yours, for the root of the problem lies in whether you have this attitude towards God's Word. If you read God's Word carefully, do you still not know what kind of person God desires? If you are one whom God watches over, would you still have these problems? Even if you do, God will enable you to be victorious and be with you! Even when Joseph was sold into Egypt, was God not with him? Did he not prosper in everything he did? Therefore, brothers and sisters, do not believe in someone because they are a Christian, but because they tremble at God's Word, and then accept them as our brother! Receive as much as you can, and hold fast to as much as you can, without violating God's Word. We have only one task: to diligently keep and follow God's Word, to tremble at God's Word, to build a temple filled with God's glory, to become a place of rest for God, and also to become a place where God can rest.
