The Word of God Never Returns Void, but Will Surely Accomplish

Isaiah Chapter 55 speaks of how the word of God never returns void, but will surely accomplish. This chapter inherits from Chapter 54, that God's loving-kindness never changes. The word of God never returns void, this is a basis for our living, and the key that we should seek in our lifetime. You must carefully contemplate and see how people really live.

I studied engineering, and I found that if you do something without theoretical support, just doing it purely, you will definitely not do it well. I have been renovating our office recently, planning to make a pool with a cultural stone as the background. At that time, we forgot to consider this point when we were planning, and we planned a switch in that position. But we forgot that this is a cultural stone, with water flowing down, how can we put a switch there, obviously it cannot be placed.

So we must plan everything well, just like building a plane, we must plan all parts in advance. Everything must have a benchmark, a standard, a theory. If doing things is like this, how can people live without a benchmark?

The tragedy of human existence is not knowing why they live. The logical system of living this way is a wrong theory. Today, when we look at those who embezzled and violated the law and eventually fell, do they really know what living is all about? They do not. However, there are still many people, who keep running and running, running to the cliff, and finally fall down.

We must have a guide to live. Such a manual must have a stable, systematic foundation. Why am I willing to serve God? It is not out of my own consideration. If I serve God for reasons such as getting healed or my business will be good, I will not be able to continue at all, I will be finished.

Last year, a brother in my office said, God has given me a lot, so I am very grateful, and I am willing to serve God. At that time, this brother was in school, and his family did not give him money, he relied on part-time work to earn tuition and living expenses. Life was very hard. He was later blessed by God and became a small rich man. He thought of the past and was very grateful, so he said, I want to serve God. I said, Brother, if you are serving God because of gratitude, you cannot serve God. You must serve God because God is God. Fortunately, this brother was very smart, he changed quickly and adjusted himself.

People can experience God's loving-kindness, but you cannot treat serving God as a transaction: because I have experienced God's loving-kindness, I must come to serve God. If you are willing to serve God and have a heart of gratitude, that is very good, but when you do not fully know God, you begin to experience His loving-kindness, then you will know even more that our God is a God of loving-kindness.

In our church, there is no one who has not experienced God. You experience God's loving-kindness, then you can begin to know God, begin to love God, and then you will find that serving is grace. The purpose of human existence is to serve God. It is because God never changes that He can comfort us. A person who experiences God will surely be a prosperous person.

Chapter 55 speaks of how the word of God never returns void. You must know God, starting from the word of God. This chapter begins by saying: Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters. Our brothers and sisters must know that when people are in a state of thirst, they will be very hard, and in such a state, you will have no confidence in your heart. Most people in the world are in this state. In fact, the water here represents the way of God, which is the word of God.

Thirst is Key

God shows His loving-kindness to those who thirst. When a person begins to thirst for closeness to God, to study the word of God, to know God, and to serve God, this is the beginning of his growth. There are still many people who do not know why they are living. Some people will say: Why do I need to pay such a high price in this church? In other churches, I only need to sing hymns.

If you live for business, then do business well; if you live for family, children, and work, and you think these can solve your problems, then you can live a small life. But when you are living for these things, you will always have an empty feeling in your heart.

If God is a God of loving-kindness, you do not need to spend money. If you are willing to thank your parents because they provide for you to go to school, this is because you have a heart of gratitude. But love cannot be traded. Do not make deals with God, but thirst.

Why Spend Money on What Does Not Satisfy?

Today, many of us have a thought in our minds: I must make money! What do you do with money? What do you need so much money for? If you know God and draw near to God, God will give you these, and God will satisfy you. Then why do people spend money on what is not food? Why spend what they have worked hard for on what cannot satisfy? I am very moved!

Today, a sister told me about a sister in her pastoral district who had experienced God, but she still relied on herself to make money and did not live well at all. She had been married twice, and what was the result? The result was a question mark. Her question mark made us feel emotional, and our question mark would make her feel emotional. Her question was: You see people in other churches just sit and go home, why do we have to spend so much time praying and meeting? Yes, when you have something to do, people also just sit and go home.

So today, what our brothers and sisters lack is that kind of thirst, what they lack is not knowing that it is the grace of God. Many people toil, but toiling is a curse; many people make money, make money, and then a disaster returns all the money to the doctor, and the money is still not saved. Then what are you doing? Spending money to buy what cannot satisfy, it is very strange.

Near my home, there is a big intersection where people die in car accidents as soon as they happen. As a result, one day the news reported that a rich man from Sichuan died. He was very, very rich, driving a sports car worth tens of millions, carrying a girl, going to a nightclub at four in the morning, and was smashed to pieces in an accident, dying in his thirties.

People work hard to make money, to buy what cannot satisfy, which is very strange. When a person is about to die, he can suddenly see through what is inside him, understand life and death, and understand what money is all about, but he has not understood it all, and before he dies, he spends money to buy the best medicine. Not buying the best medicine can prolong his life for a few more days, but buying the best medicine makes him die faster.

So brothers and sisters, the prophet uttered a sigh: Why are you living? Why do you spend what you have worked hard for to buy what cannot satisfy? Here is something that does not require people to spend money, but you do not want it; what requires people to spend money, you must have it. Peking Union Medical College Hospital's annual revenue is 170 billion, averaging 450 to 500 million a day. Where does 500 million a day come from? From the patients. Who are those patients? Those who work hard to make money to buy what cannot satisfy.

In fact, it cannot solve people's problems, so why do this? This enters a vicious cycle of making money, spending money, making money, spending money, but there is a better way here, which is the word of God. The word of God can be obtained without spending money. How many people among us are healed without spending money today?

In fact, if we rely on God, God can accomplish some very miraculous things for us, and you do not need to rely on money. Yesterday I went to a very remote place, and it was late when I came back. I finally got a taxi, but it turned out to be an electric car, and it was about to run out of power. The driver was very worried that it would stop halfway. At that time, Sister YX and Sister XY were also in the car. He drove us and drove us. Before getting out of the car, he said to me: You are very wonderful. He took a person yesterday, and it was also almost out of power. When the driver took this person to the end, the car stopped after going two hundred meters, then slowed down and started again, and stopped again after going two hundred meters, and then started again. But when we were in his car, not only could we get home smoothly, but he could also return home afterwards, which is really wonderful.

Heed the Word of God and You Will Eat Good Things

It is really good to have God. Why spend money to buy what cannot satisfy you? This is the sigh of the prophet Isaiah, and it is also something that God feels very emotional about. If people do not know God, that is one thing. But who are the people that the prophet Isaiah is lamenting for? Are they not those Israelites who believe in the Lord? They do not not know the Lord. Among our church, brothers and sisters do not not know God, and have not experienced God, why can their thoughts and intentions not be changed? Why do their thoughts and intentions have to fall into the state of earning money and toiling, then spending money, and then not solving the problem? This is a very deadly thing.

As a result, the Spirit of God moved Isaiah to say: Give ear to the word of God, and you will eat good things. You see, if you give ear to the word of God, you can eat what is good, delight in rich food, and rejoice in your heart. (Isaiah 55:2) Originally, we people need a manual, which is the 《Bible》. The words in the 《Bible》 tell us why people live, how to live well, how to eat deliciously and fully, and live beautifully and joyfully. But people just do not believe it. I urge everyone again today to pay attention to the word of God, and you can eat what is good.

You originally relied on toiling to make money, and then bought what could not satisfy you. Now that you have read the word of God, you can eat what is good, delight in rich food, and rejoice in your heart. How well these words are spoken! This is the word of God, and the word of God will surely be accomplished. If you ask me today whether the word of God will be accomplished in you, I will tell you that it will be accomplished 100%. As long as you thirst, as long as you are willing to believe, and are willing to do according to the word of God. If you pay attention to the word of God, keep and observe His statutes, ordinances, and commandments, you can eat what is good, delight in rich food, and rejoice in your heart.

O means director, which means they have all become CFOs and CTOs. Then some time ago, my colleagues also said this: Following the teacher, we originally had no O's, but now we all have O's. In fact, it is not following me, but following the word of God. Following the word of God is not bringing O but bringing K, it is becoming princes, princes and princesses.

Today we must know that paying attention to the word of God can not only be eaten as food, but also can be eaten very well, satisfying your physical and spiritual needs. For example, you can eat good food in your mouth, and get joy in your heart. If you eat food in your mouth, but feel sad in your heart, why bother? This is not understanding how to handle living.

The word of God has already explained what human life is all about, and how people should live. Do not think that I am pushing you to a dead end. I am not asking you to pay a price, I am asking you to enjoy grace.

Draw Near to God and You Can Live Out David's Grace

So today, brothers and sisters, you must really begin to know that the word of God is established in heaven. How well the word of God speaks. God said: Come to me; listen, so that you may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David. (Isaiah 55:3)

Today, brothers and sisters, you must know that if you draw near to God, the 《Bible》 says: Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. God knows if you love Him, and if you draw near to God, God will draw near to you. Do you know what an honor this is, is that all the decision-making power is in your hands. Can you obtain God's grace? Can you experience God's miraculous deeds? Can you live a real life in this world? It all depends on your choice of whether you are willing to draw near to God. So brothers and sisters must know that all needs are in God, and to obtain the promised grace of David.

Now then, tell my servant David, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty says: I took you from the pasture, from tending the flock, and appointed you ruler over my people Israel. I have been I was with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name great, like the names of the greatest men on earth. (2 Samuel 7:8-9)

This is the grace promised to David. Why did God promise David this grace? Because David had a heart that yearned to build God's glorious temple. Why is grace being received in our midst today? Because I am leading everyone to yearn together to build God's glorious church. If we have such a yearning, then God says:

I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name great, like the names of the greatest men on earth. And I will provide a place for my people Israel and will plant them so that they can have a home of their own and no longer be disturbed. Wicked people will not oppress them anymore, as they did at the beginning, and have done ever since the time I appointed leaders over my people Israel. I will also give you rest from all your enemies. The Lord declares to you that the Lord himself will establish a house for you: When your days are over and you rest with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, one of your own sons, and I will establish his kingdom. He is the one who will build a house for me, and I will establish his throne forever. (2 Samuel 7:9-13)

How well these words are spoken, and if you are such a person, not only will your problems be solved, but your children's problems will also be solved. How many of us parents worry about our children's problems, and if you are a person who builds God's glorious church, you do not need to worry about your children's problems at all. Because God includes this grace in the reliable grace promised to David.

So today we have solved the key problems in our lives. We have solved the problem of healing through healing and deliverance, and the teachings of the church and reading the word of God solve the problem of a person's thoughts and intentions. If we have many concerns about our descendants, we can also obtain David's reliable grace by building God's glorious church.

Seek God and Return to God and You Will Receive Mercy

See, I have made him a witness to the peoples, a ruler and commander for them. Surely you will summon nations you know not, and nations you do not know will come running to you, because of the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendor. (Isaiah 55:4-5)

How well these words are spoken, and God has made an everlasting covenant with us, determined to glorify us. So today, brothers and sisters, do not get it wrong, God wants us to be glorified, God wants us to have great names, and God wants us to prosper. That is, those people come to you, you call them and they come; if you do not call them, they also come to you. How wonderful these words are!

It is because you are at the top and not at the bottom, doing the head and not the tail. That is a glorious road. I absolutely believe that since God's word promises so much, it will also be accomplished in our midst. Then it says in the scriptures: Seek the Lord while he may be found;------that is, you must seek God and return to God------call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon. (Isaiah 55:6-7)

If we feel very pitiful, that this will not work and that will not work, I tell you that you just need to seek God. Seeking God is like seeking treasures, and if you have a thirsting heart, you will not be finished, because you will surely be blessed. Return to God, and our God will freely pardon. We must know that many of our problems and thoughts are closely related, and many of our problems are also closely related to our sins. If you sin, the devil and the enemy can freely do corruption in your life. Today, God has forgiven your sins, and the devil and the enemy can no longer corrupt you, what a great grace this is.

If you are doing business, what are you most afraid of? You are most afraid of the devil coming to make trouble. The person who drove me back yesterday said: He really needs God, and he has been very unlucky for these three days. On the first day, he drove a brand-new electric car and was fined 200 yuan, and 2 points were deducted from his driver's license. On the second day, he crashed into a curb, and the tire burst, it was so unlucky, and on the third day, he was fined again. He said, I have been very unlucky these three days. I said, What you need most is blessing.

People living in the world are so miserable when they encounter unlucky days. Why are people so unlucky? There is only one reason: ghosts are with him. Why is a person blessed? Because God is with him. So it is a great grace for God to be with us, and we should seek Him. Our God will have mercy on us and will freely pardon us. Jesus' precious blood will cover our sins, and the devil can no longer legally attack you and cause you trouble. When a person has God with him, wherever he goes, he can release blessings, and he himself is also blessed.

Let God’s Thoughts Be Our Thoughts

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9)

Today, you must know one thing for certain: without the words of God, we are ignorant. Even if you are a company director, if you do not know the words of God, you are ignorant and live blindly. If today you understand that God's word stands firm in the heavens and will not return empty, then you should do according to God's word, no matter how incomprehensible it may seem to us.

It is more blessed to give than to receive. It is more blessed to give out; we find such words difficult to understand, but this word is certain because He is God. We will surely be blessed if we do as He says. For example, tithing: can you understand it? Today, the sister who gave her testimony could not pay her rent, yet she still tithed. As a result, she paid her rent and had some left over. Can you understand it? God's thoughts are always higher than our thoughts. The problem is that we must act accordingly.

In fact, removing human thoughts is a difficult thing, because the thoughts within us seem so reasonable. My mother preached the gospel to my aunt. You must know that my mother hated my aunt with a vengeance. When I was young, my mother would get very angry whenever she mentioned my aunt because my mother took care of my grandfather from the time he fell ill until his death. She was only in her twenties then. Where had she ever seen a dead person? When there was not enough money, she borrowed money to take care of my grandfather. Before my grandfather died, he especially missed his daughters, my aunts. At that time, they slept on kang mats. My grandfather thought and thought, grabbing the kang mat with his hands, cutting his fingers until they bled. My mother sent a telegram. In those days, telegrams were very expensive, one dollar per word. One, two, three telegrams were sent, but there was no response. My grandfather needed money for medical treatment. My aunts were afraid of sharing the burden with my mother, so they did not reply. Everyone was very poor, and my mother carried the burden alone. When she ran out of money, she borrowed money to take care of my grandfather, and as a result, she owed people two thousand dollars.

From a human perspective, that was a huge loss! Two thousand dollars in 1961 was an astronomical figure! It was equivalent to five years' salary, five years' salary without eating or drinking. In today's terms, it would be about one million RMB. In other words, my grandfather was ill for half a year, and in those days, it cost the equivalent of buying a house, money that could never be repaid in a lifetime. But in fact, my mother made a very smart choice. Today, you see my mother on the video, an old lady with white hair, but she can use a computer to talk to us and type. You must know that this is the grace she sowed when she was young, and she reaps blessings.

But many people just do not know. Today, we must do according to God's word. My mother did not know God at that time, but she miraculously did according to God's word. What happened to her? In order to take care of my grandfather, my mother chose to be demoted from the city to the countryside. She was originally a grassroots cadre of the Communist Party in the city, but when she went to the countryside, she became the party branch secretary, and as a result, the government allocated two thousand dollars to her.

Then I tell you, I was born when my mother was demoted to the countryside, because she was blessed. She gave birth to me, this son. Although she did not deliberately dedicate me to God, the grace of God came upon our family at that time. I know that today, my dedication to God is also all grace.

Looking closely today, my mother is much better off than my aunts. She raised five children, and they are all very good. It turns out that acting according to God's word, though it seems like a loss, is actually receiving grace, because our understanding is not yet complete. If today you were asked to do such a thing, borrowing one million RMB to take care of your sick father-in-law, would you be willing? Of course, now that you are in our church, you no longer need to borrow money for medical treatment. We can be healed through prayer. But the important thing is our mindset, whether we are willing to act according to God's word no matter how great the difficulties we face.

Today we must know that God's word is the manual of life, God's word is the way of life. Some people have experienced God and then forsaken Him; some people, although they have personally experienced God, hesitate when it costs them, and they are unwilling to act according to God's word. Hearing God's word and acting on it is a blessing; hearing God's word and not acting on it is a curse. God's thoughts are higher than our thoughts; we must let God's thoughts be our thoughts.

Today, Brother ZH and I went to see the property together. He said that Brothers HF and WC have received a lot of grace by following the pastor. It is not because I am very capable, but because I act according to God's word.

We must reject the inherent thoughts within us. Why does our church constantly attack the knowledge of good and evil? Because the knowledge of good and evil is the inherent human thought within us. It is not that the spirit of the dragon is very powerful, but that the inherent thoughts within people are very solid and seem very logical.

We must no longer act according to human logic and human thoughts, but according to God's thoughts. If you act according to God's thoughts, you cannot help but live out God's goodness, because God's word stands firm in the heavens, and God's word will not return empty!

God's Ways Must Become Our Ways

Where is God's way? God's way is the path of grace that the Lord Jesus has opened up for us. Jesus set an example for us. He chose to be humble, to be born into the world, and to die on the cross, paying the full price for us. Paul said: I am completing in my flesh what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions (Colossians 1:24). This is a harsh statement, but Paul was indeed walking the way of Jesus.

Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. (Isaiah 53:4-5)

This is God's way. God gave us his only begotten Son, and while we were still sinners, he died for us, and died on the cross. God's love is manifested in this. It turns out that God's way is the way of love, the way of giving, the way of offering. If your mind is filled with selfish thoughts, then your life will be miserable. It is not that I want to curse you, it is God's word that curses you. We must always abandon the thought of loving ourselves and begin to walk God's way, letting God's thoughts become our thoughts.

As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. (Isaiah 55:10-11)

Because God's word never returns empty. In fact, even if you brand a pastor or a Christian on your forehead with a hot iron, it is useless. What is useful? It is only useful to act according to God's word. The Bible clearly describes: If you act according to God's word, you will have such a result. You will go out with joy and be led forth in peace; my word will achieve the purpose for which I sent it. If you do not act according to God's word, then how foolish you are! Do you think God's word is a joke? God's word is spoken so that you will act on it.

There are many people who start listening to Bible studies and live streams on Ximalaya and many other websites when they get up in the morning. There are also many on our own website that you can listen to for several months. But you listen and listen, and then you do not act on God's word. Is this useful? What does God send us to do? It is to set the captives free and the oppressed free. If there are such brothers and sisters among us who listen to sermons all day long but do not act on them, then they are sermon experts.

A brother told me: There was a healing evangelistic meeting there, so I rushed there. As a result, the problem became more serious after I came back. That is also a kind of expert; it is an evangelistic meeting expert. In fact, acting according to God's word is fundamental, and changing our minds is fundamental, letting God's thoughts be our thoughts; letting God's ways be our ways. If we act according to God's word, you will surely come out of Egypt with joy, come out of this world, come out of bondage, come out of entanglements, come out of problems.

You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. Instead of the thornbush will grow the juniper, and instead of briers the myrtle will grow. This will be for the Lord’s renown, for an everlasting sign, that will not be destroyed. (Isaiah 55:12-13)

Some sisters say, I am not joyful, I am very entangled. It is very simple. It is because you have not done what God wants you to do. If you do the work that God sends you to do, you will surely come out with joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.

Here the prophet Isaiah may have used a personification technique, or perhaps Isaiah did see the mountains and hills begin to sing and the trees of the field clap their hands in his vision. He also saw junipers grow instead of thornbushes, and myrtles grow instead of briers. But in the end, you still have to act on God's word.

This Sunday, I want to share a topic with you: Be a wise person. There are many people who look smart, but in reality, they are not smart at all. You must know: This will be for the Lord’s renown, for an everlasting sign, that will not be destroyed. Jesus once said: Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. Today, we must know that God's word, that is, the way of God, will last forever.

If people forsake the way of God and live according to their own will, then you will live out disasters and live out entanglements. Do not blame me for not telling you. I am not scaring you; I am making you smarter. Act according to God's word, because God's word lasts forever, and those who act on God's word will last forever with God's word. You must pursue eternal life, come out of this empty life and enter into eternal life. You must act according to God's word, and you will become a wise person.

Whether you like it or not, your days on earth are numbered. I once calculated that if I have another thirty years, it would be more than ten thousand days. Ten thousand days become nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine, and then become nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-eight. In fact, if you spend ten thousand dollars one dollar at a time, it will be very fast. If you drive a car, driving one kilometer at a time, ten thousand kilometers is also very fast. I very clearly tell everyone that it is a tragedy if people do not have a concept of eternal life. We must begin to put God's word in our lives, that is the way of eternal life.

When Jesus saw many people coming to him with the selfish desires of this life, Jesus said that they came only to seek bread, to have their bellies filled. Jesus said, I am the bread of life; whoever eats me will never die. He said a lot, but everyone felt that it was not what they wanted.

That is because they have their own thoughts, and their thoughts cannot be coordinated with God's thoughts. God is talking about eternal life, and they are talking about the things of this life. Do you think you can live well by thinking about the things of this life? It is not like that. Why do people not live well? It is because they do not act according to God's word.

“You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve. Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. (John 6:67-68)

Do you have this thought today? Knowing that people living is vanity of vanities. People's lives are spent chasing after vanity, coming empty-handed and leaving empty-handed. What can you grasp? I bought a property with a permanent title deed, a title deed that lasts for a thousand years. What does that mean to me? This thousand years has nothing to do with me. In fact, a 99-year title deed has nothing to do with me either.

Because heaven and earth will pass away, including our bodies will pass away, but God's word will last forever. Not only will God's word last forever, but if it is not accomplished in you and me, it will not return empty. Today, if you do not know why you are living or how to live, then this sentence is telling you.

Start to take your work lightly. We also do business, but that is not our life. Our lives are all in God's word. David relied on God's word to be the king of Israel and established the most prosperous Israelite dynasty. The gold and bronze he accumulated were the most in history. You must know that God's word can solve our problems.
