Introduction
What is Deuteronomy 32 telling us? It speaks of God saving His people. Why, I wonder, does Deuteronomy 32 say that God will save His people? In Deuteronomy 32:43, God will redeem His people. The question then arises: If you are not God's people, will God redeem you? In fact, God will not redeem you. In the Bible, we see that when Jesus came into the world, He did not want to save the Pharisees, calling them a brood of vipers. God redeems His people, not the world. God will destroy the world but save His people. In Noah's time, He saved Noah's family and destroyed that generation. In Sodom, He saved Lot's family and destroyed the city. When Joshua attacked Jericho, God destroyed the city but saved Rahab.
So, we see in the Bible that many people find our God too ruthless, and I wholeheartedly agree. Our God is indeed very ruthless, saying He will destroy and destroying immediately. Our God is not Santa Claus. From Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt to Joshua leading them across the Jordan River, the history of Israel began. Moses wrote chapter 32, but in chapter 31, God had Moses write a song to teach the Israelites and pass it on to them.
That this song may be a witness against them; for when I have brought them into the land flowing with milk and honey, which I swore to their fathers, and they have eaten and filled themselves and grown fat, they will turn to other gods and serve them, and despise me and break my covenant. And when many evils and troubles have come upon them, this song shall confront them as a witness, because it will not be forgotten from the lips of their descendants. (Deuteronomy 31:19-21)
Choosing to be God's People
The 32nd chapter we read is a song written by Moses, a testament to what the Israelites would experience in the future, just like the song. What did the Israelites think? According to the song, the Israelites needed to choose to be God's people. Today, we must understand that God deliberately tells us what we will experience in the future, so that we can choose between life and death, blessing and curse. Our choices are crucial. Whether you are God's people is closely related to your choices. Do not think that someone else paved the way for you; you walk your own path.
In the time of Jesus, there was a group of Pharisees. Where did these Pharisees come from? In the era of Nehemiah and Ezra, many people returned from Babylon to rebuild the temple. At that time, there was a scribe named Ezra who taught the Israelites how to read the Bible. Ezra’s disciples passed down the teachings generation after generation, and these people became the Pharisees in the time of Jesus, a brood of vipers. It is strange why these people became Pharisees, hated by God.
These Pharisees had something in them: a love of money, food, and drink. They rented out properties in the temple to make money. The temple property was the most important city center for the Israelites, a place where it was easy to make money. Those who came to worship had to go through the Pharisees' shops, and the Pharisees made a lot of money. People must know that what they think and hide in their hearts cannot be concealed from God, so they became a brood of vipers. Although they were very familiar with the Bible, they could not understand the 32nd chapter. So today, we need to know what God is doing. Is human history just this tangled situation? Blessed, then eating and becoming fat, then cursed and afflicted, then praying to God, God saves them, and then they start eating and becoming fat again, cursed, afflicted, and turning away from God in this cycle. In the New Testament era, we see this cycle continuing, a feature where even the most prosperous city centers decline, declining in that very place. What is God doing?
Choosing to Receive Mingding Destiny and Become God's Treasure
God is filtering His people. Some are filtered out, and some are filtered in. So, brothers and sisters, whether you will be filtered out or in depends on your choices. We must have Mingding Destiny. The theological concept we have created is very much about Mingding Destiny. Why? Because in God's eyes, those with Mingding Destiny are precious and become His people. Those without Mingding Destiny become trash. He separates the righteous from the wicked, the precious from the garbage. Do you understand? He rescues the people who belong to God and destroys those who do not. Is that ruthless enough? I think it is quite ruthless. Those who do not belong to Him are destroyed, and those who belong to Him are treasured.
This is understandable. I recently reorganized my electrical wires. When I was cleaning up, it was very dirty and dusty. I used a vacuum cleaner to suck up the dust. I would not treasure the dust; I would dispose of it in the trash can. Does God not do the same? Useless things, what do you keep them for?
But do you want to be a treasure or trash? You need to know. God will collect the treasures and throw the trash into the landfill to be burned with the devil. Some people say, God, why do you do this? In Romans, Paul says, Who are you to question God? How can a created being have the right to question? We have one right, to choose to be a treasure in God's eyes. So, do not keep unforgiving God, as if we are better than God; that is very foolish. Do not value money so much, do not indulge the flesh so much, do not love the world so much; these are all things that God hates. Know that there is Mingding Destiny, know that our God is God.
God Kills and Makes Alive
See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god beside me; I kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand. (Deuteronomy 32:39)
Do not argue with God. Some people have bad destiny, that is, a series of bad choices. If you do not make good choices, who will suffer if not you? And you resent Heaven, why is Heaven so unfair? God, why are you so unfair? Many people are foolish in this. Some time ago, I was eating with an old friend and blurted out, Silly. As soon as I said it, his face turned dark. Actually, I was not talking about him; he just assumed it. Many people do not understand that God making one die or live is actually God making a way for you to live. The path is at your feet. So, you must understand it systematically.
Some time ago, there was a young man with a stomach hemorrhage. You cannot say he does not love God, but his love is a bit chaotic. He argued with me that our God only blesses people and does not bring disaster upon them. I said, Young man, have you read the Bible properly? Why are you arguing with me? Look at what the Bible says: 'He kills and makes alive.' Adam and Eve, God said that they could not eat the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil; eating it would mean death. Is that not making one die? So today, we must understand it systematically and not exaggerate the actions of the devil. The devil is just a tool in God's hand. You need to know exactly what the devil does.
The devil is a garbage collector. For example, when we work, we drill holes all day long, getting ourselves dirty. Who cleans up the garbage? Is it not the helper? So, what does the devil do? He receives a job from God. Those whom God curses, the devil comes to corrupt and hands them over to the devil to corrupt. The devil's job is to corrupt people all day long, corrupt those who are cursed, corrupt those who do not belong to God. Those who belong to God have nothing to fear from the devil. He is even afraid of us. So, do not exaggerate the devil so much. Why? Because God wants to filter out treasures for blessing. Actually, God is doing one thing: making one die, making one live, blessing and cursing. In this process, He filters out Jacob or Israel.
God is Filtering Treasures
God is filtering treasures, filtering people like Jacob. To examine Jacob, examine Genesis. I like to lead everyone to examine Jacob because God did not speak to him for 70 years, but he persisted for so long, obtaining the birthright and the blessing of the firstborn. God considers such people precious. Should we be such people? That is our choice. Do you hear me, brothers and sisters? God is filtering treasures, making one die, making one live, and redeeming. God throws those who do not belong to Him into hell. God tells the Israelites in advance to give them the wisdom to choose. God has already told us that Jacob is His inheritance. Do you hear? If you insist on being Esau, then be Esau. I am sorry to tell you that the dew of heaven will not be yours, and the fatness of the earth will not be yours to cultivate. You will live by the sword all your life.
Then work hard. So, choice is very important. Keep in mind what I teach you, and command your children to keep these words. They are not vain words for you, but they are your life. You can choose between life and death, blessing and curse. Make a wise choice, and you will become a treasure in God's eyes. So today, brothers and sisters, I say again and again that you must have Mingding Destiny. I do not want you to become trash in God's eyes, sucked up by the vacuum cleaner and thrown away. Blessing and curse, life and death, are your choices. How do you choose? Choose according to Jacob. What Jacob does, you do.
This Monday, a brother brought a sermon by a well-known Taiwanese pastor about the story of Jacob and Esau. He said, Look at Jacob, what a terrible thing he did. He actually cheated his brother out of his birthright and his father out of his blessing, and then the brothers were not in harmony. Is that God's will? That is a well-known Taiwanese pastor, and it is regrettable to say that how can the Bible be examined in this way? How can one be qualified to criticize Jacob? Jacob is His inheritance, Jacob is God's inheritance, and people like Jacob are God's people. God delights in Jacob. Brothers and sisters, what God values is Mingding Destiny, not morality. God saves His people, not this world, bringing people like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph into His kingdom.
Do not think that all who are born of Abraham belong to God (such as Esau). Not all Christians are God's treasures.
Imitate Jacob. For the Lord's portion is his people, Jacob his allotted inheritance. Jacob is God's inheritance, and people like Jacob are God's people. We must know for sure that in this perverse and crooked generation, those who act perversely like him and have this flaw are not His children. If you have the appearance of Esau and no Mingding Destiny, you are not God's people. As it is written: Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated. (Romans 9:13)
In fact, Esau was a good person. Why did God hate Esau? Because Esau was a person of eating, drinking, and merrymaking, a person without Mingding Destiny.
Those who like to eat, drink, and make merry act perversely, love the world, love money, and indulge in the flesh; the customs of this world are all things that God does not like. We should imitate Jacob. This era is an era of Mingding Destiny theology. He found him in a desert land, and in the howling waste of the wilderness; he encircled him, he cared for him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.
Like an eagle that stirs up its nest and hovers over its young, he spread abroad his wings, he took him, he bore him on his pinions. The Lord alone guided him, no foreign god was with him. He made him ride on the high places of the land, and he ate the produce of the field, and he suckled him with honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock. He ate curds from the herd and milk from the flock, with fat of lambs, rams of Bashan and goats, with the very finest of the wheat— and you drank foaming wine made from the blood of the grape. (Deuteronomy 32:10-14)
Because You Are God's People, God Redeems You
Imitate Jacob in practicing faith. Jacob received his father's blessing at the age of 75. Jacob had no hobbies, only one thought: to obtain the birthright, the Mingding Destiny of the firstborn, no matter what; to connect God's name with his name, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. As a result, for 75 years, he constantly listened to the stories of his grandfather and father, and then began to desire, trying every means to subvert the birthright of his brother. What kind of person is this? A person who turns the impossible into the possible. This is Jacob, who exchanged his birthright for a bowl of red bean soup (not cheated). Our church books have told the story of Jacob. Jacob's father, Isaac, was blind and mistakenly thought he was Esau, giving him the blessing of the firstborn. Jacob fled to the wilderness with nothing. He was scared in a place with the howling of wild animals. But he believed in his heart that God was with him. When he was tired and exhausted, he lay down and fell asleep, dreaming of a ladder from heaven, with God standing on the top of the ladder blessing him. How awesome is this place! This is the gate of heaven, and this is the house of God. The reason why he was not eaten by wild animals was because God encircled him, cared for him, and protected him as the apple of His eye. If Jacob really cannot die, and you do not want to die, imitate Jacob; it is difficult to die. Jacob was protected by God.
In any case, we must imitate Jacob. That is the practice of faith. Brothers and sisters, our God loves people like Jacob. Jacob clearly knows God's covenant, clearly knows God's blessing, clearly knows God's Mingding Destiny, clearly knows his faith in God, and clearly knows God's word. Jacob said in his heart: Let my teaching drop as the rain, my speech distill as the dew, as raindrops on the tender grass, and as showers on the herb. Our God practice all things without injustice; He is a faithful God without deceit, just and upright is He. Know that not all who are born of Abraham belong to God, and not all who are born of Jacob are God's. Those Pharisees were also descendants of Jacob. Only those with Mingding Destiny, who value God's covenant, and imitate Jacob are God's people. God will redeem you, and God will protect you as the apple of His eye.
Brothers and sisters, in any case, tell yourself to imitate Jacob and be God's people. Although we are all Christians, and there is God's protection, only those who have Mingding Destiny like Jacob have it. Jacob is God's inheritance, the people God will redeem. Those who are not like this are not His children. We must know that God will not redeem Esau, but Jacob is different. If you want to be a Christian, be a great Christian, a Christian with Mingding Destiny, and you will become God's inheritance. God will redeem you because you are His people.
Revering Our God
Jeshurun (another name for Israel) grew fat and kicked; filled with food, he became heavy and sleek. He abandoned the God who made him and rejected the Rock his Savior. They roused him to jealousy with their foreign gods and angered him with their detestable idols. They sacrificed to demons, which are not God—gods they had not known, gods that recently appeared, gods your ancestors did not fear. You deserted the Rock who fathered you; you forgot the God who gave you birth. (Deuteronomy 32:15-18)
Brothers and sisters, we must understand today what happens when one is gluttonous and lacks a Mingding Destiny. God forewarns us, but you may not necessarily know. Many have read this passage, and the Israelites also read it, but those without a destiny read it over and over without understanding what it means. What will happen to these people? Watch how they end up. They are a depraved generation, children in whom there is no faithfulness. (Deuteronomy 32:20)
For a fire is kindled by my wrath, one that burns to the realm of the dead below; it will devour the earth and its harvests and set afire the foundations of the mountains. (Deuteronomy 32:22)
I will heap calamities on them and use against them my arrows. I will send wasting famine against them, consuming pestilence and bitter plague; I will send against them the fangs of wild beasts, the venom of vipers that glide in the dust. In the street the sword will make them childless; in their homes terror will reign. Young men and young women will die, infants and those with gray hair. I said I would cut them to pieces and blot out their memory from mankind, but I dreaded the taunt of the enemy, lest these foes misunderstand and say, ‘Our hand has triumphed; the Lord has not done all this.’ (Deuteronomy 32:23-27)
So, brothers and sisters, do you see it today? If someone originally belongs to God but loses their Mingding Destiny, how tragic it is! Young men and young women will die, infants and those with gray hair will be utterly destroyed. The sword outside, terror within. Then venom will kill them, wild beasts will tear them with their teeth, and bitter plague will consume them. They will waste away from hunger. Heavens! How can they live like this?! Let me tell you, do not oppose our God! If you are to be an enemy of anyone, do not be an enemy of our God! Our God is a great and awesome God! So, carefully keeping and following His word, listening to Him, and firmly grasping our Mingding Destiny are the keys to living a good life.
If I say this, some will challenge me. They might say, Look, Esau lived quite well. He had 400 men, more than his grandfather Abraham, who only had 318! He got 400! But brothers and sisters, if we ask this, it is too shallow. We humans do not know; we see too little and too briefly. Many who forsake God and lose their Mingding Destiny may live well today, well tomorrow, and well the day after tomorrow. Then, life goes on, and they forget! When disaster strikes, what will you use to resist? If there is a sword outside, terror within, causing destruction, killing young men and young women, infants and those with gray hair, then you have no chance.
You know how tragic the history of the Israelites is! Six million were killed in World War II, a terrible tragedy! Eating human excrement and sewage water! So miserable! But look, before World War II, before Hitler went crazy, they lived quite well! They ate fat food and lived sweetly. How good it was.
So, brothers and sisters, know that disaster comes suddenly. Eli in the Bible persistently sinned, then said to himself, It's okay, it's okay. But when the sudden disaster came, his whole family died completely. How tragic!!
Therefore, brothers and sisters, be sure to revere our God! God tells us in advance that we must have wisdom! Those without wisdom only know how to eat fat food and understand nothing else. God tells us in advance, but whether we know it beforehand depends on your destiny.
What then? What Israel sought so earnestly it did not obtain, but the elect did. The others were hardened. (Romans 11:7)
As it is written: 'God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that could not see and ears that could not hear, to this very day.' (Romans 11:8)
And David says:'May their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them. May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent forever.' (Romans 11:9-10)
Do Not Think That There Are Many With a Mingding Destiny
Do you know that the Israelites have read the Bible since they were young? Deuteronomy 32 is not just read ten or twenty times. In my opinion, someone in their twenties or thirties should have read it fifty or sixty times. They read a lot! But they just do not know. God tells you in advance; can you know? But still, they do not know. Why do they not know? Because their table becomes a snare, so their hearts are covered with oil and become stubborn! What is the reason for all of this? They do not know how to imitate their ancestors, Jacob! They all live in this present life without a Mingding Destiny, and they follow the devil as soon as he deceives them.
Those who like to eat, drink, and be merry are easily deceived and like strange things, such as repairing graves, burning paper, having dreams, interpreting dreams, fortune-telling, worshiping idols, and using worldly logic to please people's desires. Then, they encounter disaster. You must know for sure that there are not many with a Mingding Destiny! How many of us here today have a Mingding Destiny? If you have a Mingding Destiny, be sure to tell yourself: Do not think that there are many with a Mingding Destiny!
So, what does Paul say?
Or don’t you know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah—how he appealed to God against Israel:'Lord, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars; I am the only one left, and they are trying to kill me'? (Romans 11:3)
What did God answer?
But what was God’s reply to him? 'I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal.' (Romans 11:4)
Paul continues:
So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace. And if by grace, then it cannot be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace. (Romans 11:5-6)
So today, brothers and sisters, know that those with a Mingding Destiny are few! If you truly have a Mingding Destiny, then you are a treasure in God’s eyes. Treasures are valued because they are rare! They are not everywhere. If they were everywhere, they would not be treasures. Cherish what you have. You can have such a revelation among us here because not every church is like this. It is all God’s doing!
Our God both curses and blesses. Even if the remnant left is the few with a Mingding Destiny, seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal, it is also God’s doing. Why? Because those people are precious in God’s eyes. So, blessings and curses both come from God. Therefore, can we have wisdom, brothers and sisters? Use wise eyes to read the Bible and see how abundant grace and glory our hope is today. Today, we must know that even pagans know that our God is powerful! I do not want everyone to wait until disaster comes before calling on God and knowing God. Start treasuring God's word today and obtain the way of life. As Moses said, These are not just idle words for you—they are your life. (Deuteronomy 32:47)
Cherish What We Have
For their rock is not like our Rock, as even our enemies concede. Their vine comes from the vine of Sodom and from the fields of Gomorrah. Their grapes are filled with poison, and their clusters with bitterness. Their wine is the venom of serpents, the deadly poison of cobras. (Deuteronomy 32:31-33)
I tell you, even those who do not know God know that our God is powerful! Their god is not as good as our God. If someone who does not know God knows this, is it not sad that we do not know? Do you know Abraham’s son Isaac? When he lived in Egypt, there was a man named Abimelech who saw that God was clearly with Isaac. And in the land of Canaan where Abraham lived, those around him treated him as a great prince, as if he were the son of Jehovah God. They all knew that our God was powerful, and we ourselves did not know. Is that not a lack of wisdom? Start treasuring what we have today.
Do Not Fear Trials
I tell you, if you are God's people, what will the Bible say? The Bible says, I raise my hand to heaven and declare, as surely as I live forever, when I sharpen my flashing sword and my hand grasps it in judgment, I will take vengeance on my adversaries (who are also our adversaries) and repay those who hate me (who are those who follow the devil). I will make my arrows drunk with blood, while my sword devours flesh: the blood of the slain and the captives, the heads of the enemy leaders.
Do you see that, our God is like that. Rejoice, you nations, with his people, for he will avenge the blood of his servants; he will take vengeance on his enemies and make atonement for his land and people.
Do not fear trials because God tested Abraham, tested Jacob, and God also tested Isaac. Today, I tell you, our Lord Jesus is still refining His people, baptizing us with fire and the Holy Spirit! Do not fear trials, because the day of salvation is the day of acceptance. I tell you, the devil must repay us with a ratio of five oxen for one ox, and four sheep for one sheep on the day our God avenges us! If it has stolen blessings in your finances, it must repay double; if it has stolen your blessings in health, it must repay double; if it has stolen our leaders from our church, it must repay double! If it has stolen our brothers and sisters from our church, it must repay double.
So, brothers and sisters, thoroughly strike the devil. When I was doing healing and deliverance for someone, the demon on him said to me: You are all chosen by God, we are all devils, we are afraid of you. Therefore, brothers and sisters, the devil must repay double what it has stolen! Start expecting today that in finances, health, or teams, in all aspects, work, and life, everything will be repaid double! Because our God will avenge us against the devil! What has been plundered in the past will be returned!
