Introduction
Let us be clear. As we proceed with our study of Revelation Chapter 13, we must confront a hard reality: God has ordained an era where the beast, alongside the Antichrist, will hold absolute sway. This is the age of the beast's dominion.
In the final three and a half years, two beasts and the dragon will exercise total control. This period is not designed for ordinary citizens of heaven; it is reserved for those whose names are absent from the Book of Life—those bound to this world. This is the era of the beast's rule. Therefore, our focus today is simple and stark: "The Era of the Beast's Dominion."
The Final Three and a Half Years: The Era of the Beast's Dominion
The Book of Revelation outlines the final seven years with absolute precision. The first three and a half years culminate in the sounding of the seventh trumpet, as described in Chapter 11. The two witnesses are slain, resurrected, and caught up into the air. Simultaneously, all victorious Christians are raptured. If you are an overcomer, the grim realities of Chapters 12 and 13 will not concern you.
But for those Christians left behind, God presents a final, brutal choice. In this critical juncture of three and a half years, you must choose: either face death under the beast's regime, or bow to it. Let us look at the facts. If you refuse to worship the beast, you die. If you choose to worship it, you also die—you merely buy yourself another three and a half years of miserable existence.
This is a matter of life and death. In the latter three and a half years, God will pour out His wrath through seven bowls upon the earth. No human being can survive that ordeal. If a Christian misses the rapture, only one path to victory remains: you must not love your life even unto death. You must refuse to worship the beast and be martyred. Of course, we have not yet reached this stage.
In This Era, Saints Must Either Worship the Beast or Be Slain
Let me lay out the cold facts. If you choose to worship the beast, your name—along with the beast and all worldly inhabitants—will be excluded from the Book of Life. The ensuing three and a half years will be a living hell; you will long for death, but death will elude you. God's fierce wrath will be unleashed, and every single soul on earth will suffer.
At this point, martyrdom becomes the only form of victory. For the left-behind Christian, the sole remaining path to triumph is martyrdom. If you are living a victorious life today, you will not face the horrors of this chapter; you will have been raptured in Chapter 11.
The First Beast
"And I saw a beast rising out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority.
And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, 'Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?'
And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven.
It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If anyone has an ear, let him hear." (Revelation 13:1-9)
The first beast emerges from the sea. In the spiritual realm, there are entities of the land and entities of the deep. Which is more formidable? The reality is, both possess immense power. Marine spiritual entities are particularly potent—much like the Dragon King in Chinese folklore.
Do not engage in idle speculation. This ten-horned, seven-headed beast is not the ten nations of the European Union; it has nothing to do with that. This is a spiritual entity. The scriptures describe it clearly: ten horns, seven heads, ten crowns, blasphemous names, shaped like a leopard, feet like a bear, and a mouth like a lion.
This description brings to mind the Chinese mythical creature, the Pixiu. Perhaps the Apostle John forgot to check if this beast had an anus—for the Pixiu consumes but never excretes. In truth, the physical description bears a striking resemblance to it.
We need not waste time debating how the ten horns are distributed among the seven heads. What matters is the functional reality: horns represent power and authority, while heads represent the governing minds exercising that power. Clearly, certain heads wield greater authority than others.
One of the heads suffers a mortal wound but is healed. This suggests highly advanced medical capabilities or supernatural intervention. The beast will perform great signs and utter blasphemies against God. When the world reaches this stage, it will be obvious: whoever is possessed by the spirit of this ten-horned, seven-headed beast will wield unprecedented power.
Consider the legendary warriors in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, like the Five Tiger Generals. People often compare them to the generals of the Sui and Tang Dynasties—a classic "Guan Yu fighting Qin Qiong" scenario. Why did these individuals possess such extraordinary prowess? It is because in every field, those who reach the absolute pinnacle are often driven by spiritual forces.
Let me give you a concrete example. I knew a man in the 1990s, a legendary gambling king in Southeast Asia. He won every game with uncanny ease, without rigorous training. The reality was simple: a spirit had possessed him to ensure his constant victory. When a spiritual entity takes hold of a person, that individual achieves extraordinary, superhuman capabilities.
The beast rising from the sea signifies a global unification. By then, territorial disputes between China and the Philippines will be obsolete, and the Taiwan issue will be resolved. World War III will have concluded, resulting in a single global government ruled by the Antichrist.
Where does this immense power come from? It is the result of spiritual possession. Absolute authority will be granted to this ruler to act without restraint for forty-two months. For those three and a half years, his rule will be absolute and unchecked.
Let me offer a pragmatic assessment of how this will likely play out. The beast rising from the sea suggests a dominant naval power winning a decisive conflict to establish global hegemony. If we look at the geopolitical players, the seven heads will almost certainly include the United States, China, and Russia as the primary actors, with the remaining heads likely being the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Japan. This formidable coalition will govern the globe.
Once this global regime is established, what is its primary objective? It will systematically hunt down and execute every Christian on earth. It is permitted to make war against the saints and overcome them. Under such a regime, survival is not an option for believers. Your only viable path is martyrdom. A vast number of Christians will be executed. Those who attempt to evade the conflict by hiding at home will simply face the second wave of persecution.
The Second Beast
"He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed." (Revelation 13:10-15)
If you manage to survive the first wave, the second beast will emerge to eliminate the remnants. This beast's image will appear highly supernatural, possessed of actual breath. We must not underestimate the Antichrist and Satan; they possess formidable deceptive powers and a myriad of guises.
"The image of the beast could both speak and breathe." If people see a massive statue speaking, they will naturally deem it divine. Make no mistake: this is not artificial intelligence; it is a genuine, supernatural manifestation.
The second beast arises from the earth, possessing two horns like a lamb. It does not appear as a predatory lion, bear, or tiger, but as a harmless lamb. This is highly deceptive. The Antichrist is a counterfeit Christ, designed to mimic the genuine Savior. To deceive the masses, he will masquerade as Jesus Christ, employing powerful religious rhetoric to brainwash the population.
"He spoke like a dragon." The dragon is the ancient serpent. The same deception used on Adam and Eve will be deployed against mankind. He will construct an image that performs miracles. This "lamb" is granted authority to bring fire down from heaven. Having read Revelation 13, you must not fall for this deception when the time comes.
This is the era of the Antichrist and the beast. If you foolishly conclude, "This is miraculous, he must be God," and bow down to worship him, your name will be permanently erased from the Book of Life. That will be your tragic fate. If you refuse to worship, you will be executed.
Those Who Do Not Worship the Beast Will Be Slain
The logic is clear and unyielding. The first beast executes one group; the second beast forces a choice of worship. In this era of the beast, the only logical course for a Christian is to stand firm. If you are killed, so be it.
If fear of death previously cost you your place in the rapture, you must seize this final opportunity. If you allow yourself to be deceived into thinking this beast is the true Christ, you seal your own doom.
The execution of those who refuse to worship fulfills the words of the previous chapter: "They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death." If you possess this resolve to disregard your own survival, you would have been raptured in Chapter 11. If you failed then, you cannot afford to fail now. Prepare your mind for this reality.
No One Can Buy or Sell Without the Mark of the Beast
Even if you survive the first two waves, you will confront the issue of identification. Just as we have real-name verification for WeChat and Alipay today, you will face a cashless, fully monitored system. Without the mark, you cannot buy a loaf of bread. Do not be naive and think, "I will hide in a friend's house; he has the mark and can buy food for me." In a crisis of survival, he will likely betray you to save himself.
Consider the level of technological surveillance in that era. If you hide in the home of someone who has taken the mark, his own fear of death will prevent him from harboring you. He belongs to a different kingdom now. You will be completely locked out of the economy.
Where will you run? The only pragmatic option is to walk out into the street and declare, "I am a saint of God, execute me." Let us be realistic. You cannot buy bread, you cannot order food. Will you hide in a hole like Saddam Hussein, only to be dragged out in disgrace? There is absolutely no escape.
The window of survival for Christians will be extremely narrow—likely just the first few months of those three and a half years, before the plagues intensify. You could attempt to fast and pray in a cave for eighty days until you die of starvation, but that is a slow, agonizing end.
It is far more efficient to confront the regime directly and say, "Execute me." Why suffer eighty days of starvation when a swift execution settles the matter instantly? The reality is absolute: without the mark, economic survival is impossible.
You Must Understand God's Plan
We must understand the strategic logic of God's plan. Why has He ordained this? It is to produce a people who do not cling to their physical lives. Under the Mingding Doctrine, if you live with the absolute resolve of "if I perish, I perish," you become invincible. Most people live entirely to preserve their mortal existence. But when you lose the fear of death, you overcome the world.
This has been the standard for Christians throughout history. If you cling too tightly to this life, you will fail. Consider this carefully: even now, before the beast takes power, people are utterly obsessed with self-preservation. This is a fatal weakness. It invites sickness and spiritual decay. The symptoms of this weakness are already visible today.
What is God's objective? His Mingding Doctrine is to prepare a victorious people who can defeat Satan. Do not assume Satan is idle today. His leverage is always the same: he holds your physical survival hostage. If he cannot threaten you with death, he loses all leverage, and you prevail.
This explains why God's plan includes this three-and-a-half-year period, and why Chapters 12, 13, and 14 are structured this way. Chapter 14 reveals a sobering truth: some Christians who survive without the mark will still cling to physical life. By doing so, they seal their fate and become vessels of God's wrath.
Therefore, we must align with God's Mingding Doctrine. God has destined us for victory and eternal life; He does not tolerate a preoccupation with temporal survival. The scriptures are clear: if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are of all people most to be pitied.
Today, the desire for mere survival is rampant. I see terminally ill patients fighting desperately to cling to life, yet they perish rapidly. When a person is consumed by physical survival, they operate entirely in the flesh, inviting demonic oppression. This cowardice drives away the presence of God, rendering even the most intense prayers ineffective.
In my ministry, I tell people plainly: "Do not obsess over physical survival." But they refuse to listen. They die miserable deaths under God's displeasure, leaving me to offer cold comfort about God's mercy to their grieving families.
Do not harbor the illusion that you can preserve your own life. God's plan is to bring victorious sons into His kingdom through Jesus Christ. A coward who fears death cannot be a child of God. Therefore, the era of the beast is designed to force those who have not yet overcome to make their final stand.
Let us be clear about this. If your entire existence is defined by mere survival, you are on highly dangerous ground. I am not threatening you; the choice remains yours. But the most logical, pragmatic choice is to lay down your life in Chapter 11, refusing to cling to physical existence.
I understand this is difficult, especially for those with young families. But do not expect this world to show you any mercy. It will not. The end will be brutal.
This is the core of God's plan: to build a victorious church comprised of victorious individuals. The Book of Revelation is a blueprint for establishing such a church.
Once the era of the church concludes, God will pour out His unmitigated wrath upon the earth. The destruction will be catastrophic—far worse than any typhoon. The priority of God's plan is to evacuate His people before this wrath is unleashed.
"Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666." (Revelation 13:18)
People have long obsessed over this number "666." The reality is, this concerns the period after the rapture—it is a distant concern for us today. What is urgent now is that you adopt a mindset of victory. We will conclude our study here. May God bless you.
