Introduction
Among us, there are numerous individuals who have experienced healing. I believe some testimonies have been omitted today, but these testimonies should inform everyone. Throughout our healing and deliverance seminars, we continuously add to them. Today, brothers and sisters need to understand why this occurs.
It is because illness is closely linked to the spiritual realm. Know this for certain: among us, illnesses will be healed. However, there is a challenging issue now, which I believe will be addressed in the future.
Today, the theme I will share is: A Living Person with a Spirit. A long time ago, I was contemplating the rigidity often displayed by people. How can people be trained to become flexible? This has been a persistent question for me. Later, through summarization, understanding, and exploration, I discovered that people who can speak and work are more intelligent. Those who can work are called flexible. In the past, I was quite satisfied with this answer, but we have found that this answer is a low version. Recently, we have had significant breakthroughs and progress academically, and I want to share with everyone that a living person with a spirit is flexible. With flexibility, people can work; those who can work can live; and those who can live will manifest the glorious image of God.
Today, discussing a living person with a spirit is actually an in-depth exploration of the recent period. Although there hasn't been complete progress, we believe that even the stage-wise progress is worth sharing with everyone. The phrase a living person with a spirit is found in Genesis 2:7. Many people are familiar with it: the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living person with a spirit. However, no one has truly been able to interpret this verse in a satisfactory manner. Today, we will interpret this verse.
Scripture
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Genesis 2:7)
Prayer
Lord, breathe on us today and let us all become living persons with a spirit. Lord, we thank you, we praise you, for having a wonderful purpose in our lives. You want us to become living persons with a spirit. Do the work of a living person with a spirit in me today, open our ears, and turn our minds back to you, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
Scriptural Background
Initially, when God created Adam, he became a living person with a spirit. But later, we know that this living person with a spirit died. How did the living person with a spirit die? Because he ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. After eating it, the living person with a spirit died. This is clearly stated in Genesis.
God said, People will die as soon as they eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If they did not believe, they would go and eat. After eating, they lived for over nine hundred years and then died. So today, you don't see an Adam in this world. If he lived until today, it would be nearly six thousand years.
How did some people die? They ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, which produced many reactions. These reactions are the typical reactions of people living today. Eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil produces shame, fear, hiding from God, and then shirking responsibility, and starting to live very hard. Women have the curse of childbirth, men have the curse of toil, and as a result, they toil all their lives to support their families, and the ground is cursed because of man, and it does not produce normally.
Today, if you carefully observe the situation of people living, it can basically be said that this is the situation. The living person with a spirit died in this way. The process of dying is full of fear, shame, shirking responsibility, and then starting to toil. Men and women were originally alive, and doing things when alive was very enjoyable, but now doing things is not so enjoyable.
Today, living was originally a living person with a spirit, but later he died. After death, all those who are alive, from Adam and Eve, generation after generation until today, are constantly eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Adam and Eve will die if they eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Shouldn’t we die even more if we eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil today?
Recently, including my colleagues, have been dealing with the issue of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. They have eaten too many fruits of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. We have dealt with it before, but many people hide the fruits of the tree of knowledge of good and evil very deeply. No matter how deeply they are hidden, when the Spirit of God moves upon us, these problems will begin to manifest. After manifesting, they will be released one after another, and a new team will be built, which is a team of living persons with a spirit.
After Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, they gave birth to Cain and Abel. After giving birth to Cain and Abel, they offered sacrifices to God. At that time, they still offered sacrifices to God. So in Genesis chapter 4, Cain's sacrifice was not accepted, and his face changed greatly and he became angry.
but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast. Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it.” (Genesis 4:5-7)
Man's Inherent Sin
The serpent tempted Adam and Eve to eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. By the fourth chapter, Cain and Abel could no longer see the serpent at all. As a result, God said, Sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it. Adam and Eve became living persons with a spirit, but later they ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and then their spirits died. They were no longer living persons with a spirit, but dead persons without a spirit.
As a result, Cain, the child who was born, God said, Sin is crouching at your door. We have cast out many demons, and we have always had a question that we have not touched. Why is this described as sin? Why does the Bible say that sin is crouching at your door? Why aren't demons and Satan crouching at the door? In Romans and Galatians, it is also said this way. Paul said, We do not do what we want to do, but we do what we do not want to do. This is what the sin within us does.
Why is this done by the sin within us? Why isn't it a demon? When I was thinking about this matter recently, I received a revelation. You can agree with it or not, but I will share my vision. This sin is something that is inherent. That is to say, when a person is born into the world, he is a person of the flesh. People are born knowing good and evil, living in the flesh, and are born cursed.
The inherent nature is the demon that lives within us, and it is called sin. When people come into the world, they think of many evil things. Some people are stubborn, some people are bad and evil, and there are all kinds of people, each with their own different forms. What is inherent in people is sin. Sin is another form of demon. This kind of demon is more difficult to deal with. It desires us and is always squatting at our door.
This sin is inherent in us, and it is next to us from birth to death. You ask it who it is, and it tells us that it is that person himself. This sin and demon are very interesting. For a while, we often mistakenly thought that the name of the demon was the name of the person, and the name of the demon was the person. The spirit of Jezebel had a person in those years who was Jezebel. When I was casting out demons before, there was something called Xiaoqing. This Xiaoqing was once a young woman who was forced to commit suicide. Later, it was passed down from generation to generation as Xiaoqing.
Later, we found that these demons often carry the names of people. These demons are what people are born with when they are born. God will also give him a guardian angel. The Bible also records this. When we follow the flesh and live in the flesh, the sin within us becomes powerful; when we obey the Spirit of God and the word of God, our guardian angel has power. Of course, this is my interpretation.
Relying on the Spirit of God to Put to Death the Deeds of the Body is the Key to Solving Sin
Why is this thing called sin so difficult to cast out? This kind of sin is not cast out of us, but is put to death the deeds of the body through the Spirit of God. This is the key to solving sin. Apart from this sin that dwells within us, this thing is more difficult to deal with. Other demons are very easy to cast out because they came later.
Paul was saying this when he wrote Galatians. When our church continues to improve and we continue to understand the spiritual world, we begin to put forward this concept of sin. We used to have a more vague understanding of this thing. At different stages of the spiritual journey, we have Such a breakthrough. Next, we will begin to deal with the sin within ourselves.
This sin is inherent. It can be said to be the dark power in the family. Many things in our family are inherited. For example, the daughters in the family look like their mothers. I didn’t want to at first, because the sin inside is passed down from generation to generation, and then continues to live in the family. Inside, this is the demon in the family. When we pass down from generation to generation, there are many similarities in our character. This is the transmission of such things by Cain and Cain’s descendants. Killing Cain will be avenged seven times, and killing Lamech will be killed seventy-seven times. He becomes very cruel. This thing is hereditary, which is what we are born with.
People don’t like to be controlled by this thing, but they are controlled by this thing, which is a state of our life. Paul said when he wrote Romans:
What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? (Romans 7:24)
Because we don’t do what we want to do, but we do what we don’t want to do; the more we want to prove that we can do it, the more embarrassed we become, and the worse we get, and people become very tired. Some of our brothers and sisters are like this. I will tell you good news. We can be freed through our Lord Jesus. Some things in us are things of the flesh. In Galatians chapter 5, it talks about how the lust of the flesh comes about:
The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.(Galatians 5:19-21)
This is the work of the flesh. These works of the flesh are carnal. The Holy Spirit and the flesh are in conflict, and the flesh and the Holy Spirit are in conflict. The flesh is called the lust of the flesh. If we follow the flesh, we will be corrupted. Following the Holy Spirit is eternal life. Whoever follows the Holy Spirit will bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit, so I want this thing. I want to give everyone faith that we can be freed through the Lord Jesus.
We often lose faith today. If we fall into a behavior-based approach, I will be good if I do well, and I will not be good if I do not do well. This concept must be completely changed, because when God saves us, we are not good. God hopes that we will live out the glorious image, but sin is to corrupt us.
Wrestling with God and with People Will Triumph
We will hereby begin a spiritual battle. In this spiritual battle, we either rely on God or on our flesh. Whenever we want to rely on our flesh to achieve something, you will be disappointed with the results achieved, because sin lives in the person. Inside, then the results you get are not what you want. If the results you get are not what you want, then that’s you, and then people will be very dissatisfied with themselves. When people are very dissatisfied with themselves, many strange things will happen. Symptoms, such as depression.
A few days ago was the Dragon Boat Festival. You will find that we people live, and the frustration of literati is a major feature of China. The poems and lyrics written by Chinese literati all have some sad characteristics. They are all written when they are not appreciated, and they especially like to read them after writing them. Why? Because there is a strong response inside, because you feel the same way, and you feel that you are either not appreciated or that you are not talented. Anyway, it's bitter!
What is produced is not what we want. Later, Qu Yuan threw himself into the river. Qu Yuan is typical. If you study the questions he wrote, they are the questions that many people ask before committing suicide. It is a state of great dissatisfaction before committing suicide. Then how will our faith in Jesus solve it?
Because when we live, we encounter many problems that have no answers, so the flesh goes to rivalry, forming parties, disputes, hatred, and whoever stops us, we will show these carnal desires. We think that we can only live well by relying on these, but occasionally when we are sober, we realize that we often live in this state.
Including those of us who are pastors, if you pastor well and I don’t pastor well, I will feel uncomfortable. It’s very strange. We are competing with each other there. That is the thing of the flesh. That is the sin that lives in us. All our needs are in the Lord Jesus. There is no need to form parties, disputes, hatred, and competition to achieve our purpose of living. Those things are in our lives. Actually, the demons attached to us are easy to drive away, but the carnal things that are inherent in us are difficult to change. When a person becomes carnal, he becomes very stupid.
But believing in God is really a struggle for people. We say it is easy, but it is difficult to believe. Let me give you an example. This example is Jacob at the ford of Jabbok. Jacob was taking his people back to Canaan, and his brother was leading four hundred soldiers to kill Jacob. As a result, Jacob was very afraid. How could a carnal person not be afraid?
As a result, he didn’t want to go over, so the angel of God came to wrestle with him. When it was almost dawn, he grabbed Jacob’s leg and Jacob became lame. He couldn’t beat the angel of God, so he grabbed the angel of God tightly. You won’t let him go, you have to give me a blessing, if you don’t bless me, I won’t let you go, so he surrendered to God, and the angel of God said, you have triumphed in wrestling with God and with people.
We have never known who to wrestle with. With God, we know that we are wrestling with the angel of God. With people, we are wrestling with the self inside, the sin that lives in him, which causes him to be extremely afraid. In other words, this Jacob is constantly tossing inside. After wrestling with the angel of God, he began to surrender to God. At this time, he overcame the carnal fear inside him.
Once the carnal fear is overcome, he was at the end of the team before, and his brother Esau came to kill him, so he could take the opportunity to escape. This time, his leg was crippled by the angel of God. After becoming a lame man, he was no longer afraid. He trusted in God, because he trusted in God alone, and the fear inside him was removed. He walked to the front of the team to meet his brother. I tell you, a person who trusts in God will either be afraid and die in the face of the valley of the shadow of death, or he will trust in God and overcome it.
Wrestling with God, what does it mean to triumph, is to surrender to God, and clinging to God is called triumph. What is wrestling with people? It is wrestling with his old self, the inherent sin. As a result, Jacob entered an unprecedented spiritual life Inside the prosperity, so God named him Israel, that is, Jacob triumphed in wrestling with God and with people.
God also said to him, “Your name is Jacob, but you will no longer be called Jacob; your name will be Israel.” So he named him Israel.(Genesis 35:10)
Today, are we willing to wrestle with the sin within us? Can we subdue it, just like Genesis chapter 2 verse 7 says:
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Genesis 2:7)
**When we become a living person with a spirit, will we be like God's advice to Cain, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it. (Genesis 4:7)
A Living Soul
If you can subdue the sin within you, you will become a living soul. Today, we must all strive to become living souls, relying on Jesus to mortify the carnal desires within us, which is sin. If we prevail in wrestling with both God and man, it signifies that our spiritual state has entered an unprecedented state of prosperity.
Wrestling with God and man is a contest between our flesh and our faith in God. This contest determines whether you obey the flesh or the Holy Spirit. As you sow, so shall you reap.
For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. (Romans 8:13)
For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. (Galatians 6:8)
Let us begin to understand the concept of a living soul more deeply. Mortifying the evil desires of the flesh is the key to becoming a spiritual person, a living soul. A living soul corresponds to a soulless dead person. Either you are a soulless, carnal dead person, or you are a spiritual, living person.
Mortifying the evil desires of the flesh is the key to becoming flexible. Previously, when I spoke of intelligence and flexibility, I thought that a person who is very adaptable is very flexible. In fact, that is not the case. A living soul is what we call flexible. A living soul is called flexible, and a flexible person can work. A person who can work can live, and a person who can live lives out the glorious image of God and becomes a living soul. However, this process involves mortifying the evil desires of our flesh.
There is a demon that lives within us, which is the sin we are born with. This demon is not to be cast out, but to be subdued. Because it dwells at our doorstep and remains with us throughout the process of birth, aging, sickness, and death, although the angels of God are also always with us. This is why it is sometimes easy for us to be subdued, including those of us who have believed in the Lord for a long time. Suddenly, we are subdued by the sin within us, and we fall into contention, jealousy, and comparison, which is very painful.
However, if we rely on the Spirit of God to constantly mortify the evil desires of the flesh, then we become a living soul, which is the beginning of flexibility. Therefore, dealing with rigidity and mortifying the evil desires of the flesh is the key.
In our work, we often like to please the boss, to please people, and we want to prove that we are capable. However, the results are often not as satisfactory. Because we want to please people, there will be fear in our hearts. Once there is fear, we cannot do well, and we are not free or flexible. The things we do become very rigid. Therefore, mortifying the evil desires of the flesh has become our current goal. Each of us begins to rely on God to mortify the carnal desires of our flesh.
Today, the wrestling begins within us. We wrestle with the sin we are born with, and we must subdue it. We must constantly subdue it. You do not need to cast it out; you need to subdue it. Casting it out will not work, because it is yourself. Deal with the inherent habits and customs within us, because the inherent habits within us are our sin, which is our carnal nature.
Today, we begin to trust God and deal with ourselves by faith in God. When we surrender to God, we overcome ourselves in wrestling. When we cannot surrender and obey the flesh and ourselves, the result is corruption. To sow to the flesh is death, but to sow to the Spirit is life and peace.
For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. (Galatians 6:8)
Today, we must begin to do one thing: do not desire vain glory, for desiring vain glory is deadly.
And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. (Galatians 5:24-26)
This is the mortification of the evil desires of the flesh. When we crave vain glory and desire praise and commendation from others, we will stir up many troubles. In fact, we are creating trouble for ourselves, and then we become jealous of each other and feel uncomfortable.
We begin to wrestle with the habits within us. If we are stubborn, we will deal with stubbornness. If we are selfish, we will deal with selfishness. If we like to contend, we will deal with contention. If we like to be angry, we will deal with anger. If we like sorcery, we will deal with sorcery. If we have rebellion within us, we will deal with rebellion, and so on. Then, by the Spirit, we will bear the fruit of the Spirit.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23)
This is a wrestling process. This is spiritual warfare. The sin within us lies at our door, and it is always with us until we leave this world. Therefore, we must subdue it and become a living soul.
The sin within us lies at our door, and it will always be with us until we leave this world. Therefore, we must subdue sin and become a living soul. We must no longer rely on ourselves, for we can accomplish nothing by ourselves. If we live by trusting in God, then living becomes a very simple thing. If living is a very simple thing, why do we still need to strive for anything with the flesh? We must rethink this matter.
Mortifying the Evil Deeds of the Flesh by the Spirit of God
I hope that one day I will lead everyone to read the Book of Romans again. The Book of Romans is very interesting, and there is a passage that says:
that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. (Romans 8:4-17)
The reason why the Bible says to suffer together is to mortify the evil deeds of the flesh together. Suffering is separation from sin. Without suffering and enjoying ourselves all day long, our flesh cannot be mortified. If we deal with the sins of the flesh, our bodies will be redeemed, and we will receive the title of sons of God.
The scripture also says:
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:26-39)
Today, we must know that we no longer rely on our actions. It is not because we do well that God loves us, and that God does not love us when we do not do well. Our God is originally a God who loves us. God wants to save us from this body of death. We must make a decision to obey the Spirit of God, and we will become a living soul. Those rigid things that we cannot do well can be done well.
We could not do well in the past because we were carnal people. Today, we will use all our strength to subdue the sin within us, and by the Spirit of God and the promises of God, mortify the evil deeds of the flesh. A sister told me, It's easy to cast out demons, but it's hard to cast out ourselves. Dealing with the sin within us is casting out ourselves. The sin we are born with is our own carnal evil habits.
What I am saying is a bit deep and difficult, but it is worth pondering. If we want to live well and get things done, we need to become a living soul and mortify the evil deeds of the flesh. Only in this way can we live well and do our work well. When we do not do things well, we are afraid, and there are carnal contentions, jealousies, and other reactions. It is very uncomfortable when we do not do well.
Today, we rely on our God who loves us to come out of working based on performance, and we do not care whether we do well or not. When we do not care, we are no longer bound, and we become a living soul, and our whole state becomes very healthy. A living soul is God's good will for us. Mortify the evil deeds of the flesh, rely on the Spirit of God, rely on our Lord who loves us, and we are more than conquerors in all these things.
May God bless everyone!
