I. Introduction
Today, I will be speaking on a subject called The Power of Continual Renewal. Why this topic? You will find that the subjects I address are closely related to the operational state of our entire church, constantly driven by the needs of the church at this time. In fact, for a person to live well, they must constantly renew themselves. This continual renewal requires a driving force within us, enabling us to enter into a state of ongoing renewal.
When I was young, I often heard adults say that in a few years, they could retire and enjoy life. But I observed that after retirement, they did not enjoy life; some even seemed to live worse than before. How could this be? I tell you, a person needs constant renewal. Once a person loses renewal, they lose drive and vitality. Therefore, retiring to enjoy life is a falsehood. How exactly can one live well? This is a subject that the church must study; the church must teach people how to live well. Actually, a person lives poorly because they do not understand how to live well; thus, they cannot live well. A person without renewal finds life meaningless, goes clubbing, becomes addicted to drugs, and lives even worse. Why is this? Because they lack the driving force for renewal within.
One sister shared her journey to faith with me, and it was very interesting. A sister from our church shared the Gospel with her, and she believed. Then, she reflected that riding a bicycle to Tibet for sightseeing still left her feeling empty and bored. If a person does not receive renewal and elevation within, and does not live out new meaning in renewal, it is difficult for them to live well. How could travel not bring new meaning? I used to enjoy traveling, but I found that all cities in the world are similar, and all rural areas are also similar; what you see is merely that. When you arrive at a place and see a stone that tells the story of a famous person, you can actually hear this story online. After seeing too much, you realize it is not very meaningful. The most important thing is that we must constantly renew and elevate ourselves within, and then express this renewal outwardly in our lives.
When I was young, I had a deep understanding of renewal. At that time, every day was the same: wake up, eat breakfast, go to class; after class, eat lunch, then go to class; eat dinner, then study in the evening… day after day. I thought, if this is how people live, one day is enough; every day is the same, and it is truly meaningless. It turns out that constant renewal is a key to personal growth. Observing carefully, you will find that a renewed person lives a more vibrant life. In fact, worldly matters, no matter how much you see, are just that. Therefore, Solomon said in Ecclesiastes, There is nothing new under the sun. So brothers and sisters, know that people must constantly renew themselves.
II. Scripture
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:1-2)
God's Pleasing Way of Renewal
Lord, grant us the power of continual renewal; You are the power of our renewal. May You enter into our lives, may Your Spirit fill us, may Your Spirit renew us, let us often experience Your wonders, and let us be able to discern Your good, pleasing, and perfect will. Lord, Your will for us is a good will. Lord, may miraculous things often happen in our lives, and may good things often be accomplished in our lives. But may all this be according to Your Word, because of our inner state of longing for renewal, You guide us, guide us to know You more, and experience You more. In Jesus Christ's name, Amen!
IV. What People Value is Abhorrent to God
What people value is abhorrent to God; this spiritual principle must be remembered. Take drinking alcohol, for example. Recently, someone brought out wine and said this one is from 2015, this one is from 2010; this one is good. Some people think wine from 1800 is good, but whether it is drinkable is unknown. People like old things, but old things are not pleasing to God. What people value is often abhorrent to God. People think old wine is good, but the Bible speaks of new wine overflowing. God gives us new wine; God gives us renewal; He wants us to be constantly in renewal.
There are many logical systems; I divide them into two categories: what people value and what God values. The logical system that people value is very corrupt. For example, what I said earlier, I will retire and enjoy life, but I did not enjoy it. In fact, people's internal logical systems are very corrupt. Doing nothing but eating, drinking, and waiting for death, how can you live well? Actually, you cannot live well. Like my mother, an elderly person in her 80s, she records short videos, serves others, and shares testimonies; she lives quite well.
People like to say, I will start a business, develop an organization, get it running, and then I can sit back and collect money and have no worries. How can this be? It is impossible! In this world, everything will gradually become old, so you must constantly work hard to maintain it. But people like to do nothing and sit back to collect money. What God likes is constant renewal and constant dedication. One is receiving, gaining; the other is giving. People's logical system is to care only for themselves; the Bible's logical system is to love your neighbour as yourself. Why are some people corrupt? Because they are gluttonous and lazy; like me, I am diligent in working and lazy in eating. The words are only slightly different, but the logical systems are vastly different. We must begin to understand that the things of this world, the logical systems of this world, are deadly. Therefore, our thoughts and intentions must be constantly renewed and transformed, constantly renewed and transformed according to God's logical system, and we will live a more vibrant life.
V. Continually Renewing and Transforming the Mind
Therefore, the Bible says, do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be continually renewed and transformed in your mind.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2)
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. The church is the place where renewal is slowest. But I am not talking about our church; our church is the fastest at renewing! Why is renewal slow in churches? I will give you an example: church tradition is very harmful. After the Reformation by Martin Luther, churches were built according to his system, and they rejected the hymns of the Roman Catholic Church. They wanted to establish new hymns. Actually, the Bible does not say whether or not to sing hymns; singing hymns became a tradition of the church. Today, we also continue this tradition, but we are also constantly breaking through and innovating.
Challenging Tradition, Pursuing Renewal
In that era, there were nightclubs with many people singing popular tunes quite well. Pastors took those tunes and added church lyrics, which became today's hymnbooks. Nowadays, in traditional churches, there is a thick, red hymnbook with about three to five hundred hymns, and they open it and sing. At that time, the church had accordions and such. In the evolution of the church, today, if you put a drum set on the stage, no one in our midst will care what you put. But in a traditional church, if you put the organ, drum set, or electric guitar that were once used on the stage, that is a great offense; that is a storm; that battle is quite deadly! Many older generations have experienced such battles.
That is to say, if a person wants to challenge tradition, it is quite difficult! But our God is a constantly renewing God. Why can't we use a drum set? Of course, we don't use these; we are constantly running forward. Even building large cathedrals and hanging crosses are not recorded in the Bible. Everyone must know that if you find it, tell me. I have not found it in the Bible—the Cathedral of Saint Paul. Some people tell me that when they travel to Europe and enter that cathedral, wow! They are so moved! As if God is there. Is God really there? God is not there; God dwells in our hearts.
Therefore, brothers and sisters, know that you should not conform to the pattern of this world, but constantly renew and transform your minds. Until today, our church must be a constantly renewing and transforming church! Yes, our church has gained many spiritual assets, such as prayer warfare, victory in warfare, and receiving many promises. But after a long time, it will become old wine; you cannot stay at this stage. Of course, this is also our challenge—how to avoid refusing to stay at this stage and allowing these things to become our tradition. That is not acceptable.
The church must constantly renew, and constant renewal is recognizing God in constant exploration. There is no end to knowing God; I absolutely believe that there is no end to knowing God. Why does a church become a traditional church? Because it has not changed for a long time; it has become a traditional church. But not changing for a long time means not experiencing God for a long time. Then the person inside becomes very dry. If you have not changed for a long time, you have not experienced God for a long time. Because what does the Bible say? Your minds must be constantly renewed and transformed, so that you may test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. God wants us to live well, but we do not live well. We think God is not faithful, but that is not the case; it is because we have not done according to God's Word.
Today, the church is constantly expanding. We must constantly climb to new heights in the spiritual realm. Brothers and sisters, do not stay at this stage. In Rick Joyner's book The Final Quest, some people stay at certain stages and are always struggling. Below the level of brotherly unity, you cannot hit the devil with your arrows, and the devil will definitely hit you with his arrows, which is deadly! I have not seen this vision; I guess Rick Joyner may have seen it. Below the first level, basically, everyone is shot into a hedgehog by the devil's arrows and勉强say, I will defend us here! That is a very low level, isn't it?
Martin Luther initiated a way of faith-based belief, but everyone must know that faith-based is a very low level. That is the foundation of the mountain; we must strive to climb, then enter God's presence, and become a complete person. We must strive to pursue, and in the process of striving, breakthrough and innovation are essential because you must challenge your original tradition. You once stood at a certain level, and that level was relatively low. When you stand at this level, your viewpoint is low. When you stand above, your viewpoint is different, what you see is different, and then your understanding is different. You know that you are standing in this place and must break through the concepts of that time. Scientific development is like this. Why was there Einstein's theory of relativity? Because Newton's laws were a fairly common truth at that time, but Einstein challenged this truth and entered into a theory of relativity.
So today, we must, by all means, enter into innovation. I think this concept is quite simple. The church must enter into leading innovation; the church cannot become a traditional model. If you read Jesus's words carefully, Jesus said that these people are a brood of vipers! You must know that establishing a tradition is a viper. So today, we must not become a tradition. When I was studying church history, I discovered that church history is a history of new wine in new wineskins and old wine in old wineskins. That is to say, this church once pursued healing and deliverance, and then they stayed in healing and deliverance, and healing and deliverance became their tradition. Churches sing hymns with organs, and they stay in singing hymns with organs, with the entire choir singing there. That is their tradition. Such a church is deadly.
Those Pharisees treated human tradition as the word of God. Does that make sense? People establish a tradition and then think it is normal. I have met some brothers and sisters who have come among us, and they say, Pastor, why is your church different from our church? How can it be the same? Because we are constantly renewing! Even today is different from this day last year. When we play songs today, they are songs that we recorded last year. I am quite emotional: that place is gone now! In the future, we will wander the world, be fruitful and multiply, and make our home wherever we go. Where do you live? I live on the Internet! It seems that Jack Ma also lives on the Internet. This tradition is deadly. Once something becomes a tradition, it is not what God wants; once something becomes a tradition, it becomes a viper, it becomes toxic.
In fact, God is a constantly renewing God; our God's creation has never stopped. Some people ask me, Pastor, God created the world on the first day, created the world on the second day, until the sixth day, and then rested. What did He do on the eighth day? He went back to work on the eighth day! Our God is a unique God, constantly creating. Do you think our God rested on the eighth day and rested on the ninth day? That would be deadly! Our God is like us, goes to work on Monday, goes to work on Tuesday, and rests on Sunday. Do we not need to go to work next Monday? Actually, the Bible says it even better: our God never rests. Read the Old Testament books of Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel. In other words, our God never blinks; He is watching over us, always watching over us. You are asleep, but He is still awake, still watching over us.
Therefore, God's attribute is creation, God's attribute is renewal. When we strive to pursue and constantly renew, we will live out a very prosperous life, and we will not be tired, really not tired. I tell you, I really wasted my first 28 years; every day was pretty much the same. But after I believed in the Lord, wow! It is really good! Even working is constantly innovating.
VI. Breaking Down Tradition is Renewal
The things that God leads us to do are wonderful things, constantly attracting us to experience God's perfect goodness and pleasing will. Breaking down tradition is called renewal, and renewal is breaking down tradition. Today, we must not allow our spiritual assets to become our traditions. A person builds a church, and he says that those traditional churches also have their spiritual assets. When I was preparing the manuscript, I was thinking, are they spiritual assets or their spiritual bondage? It should be spiritual bondage; of course, it may also be called an asset.
If the Pharisees, in the time of Jesus, established a tradition, Jesus truthfully criticized them. They taught people that human tradition is the word of God. Do you understand? That is to say, if there is no organ in the church, others will question why your church does not have an organ? That is treating human tradition as the word of God. Is the church like this? The Bible never said that the church must have an organ, never said that the church cannot be on the Internet. Right? Preach the word of God, pray and preach, so is it not good to pray and preach online? So we must be renewed inside.
In fact, in the early church, in the years of Paul, did the church put up signs? Have you seen the church hanging crosses at that time? People who were more against tradition—Moses once raised a bronze serpent. When the Israelites looked at the bronze serpent, they were healed. As a result, that bronze serpent became an idol worshipped by Israel. In the days of Hezekiah, that bronze serpent was burned because people paid too much attention to the bronze serpent and too little attention to God.
Everyone must know where our church's spiritual assets come from—they come from the Spirit of God. If you grasp the Spirit of God, you grasp the key. If the Spirit of God wants to lead us to constantly innovate, then we constantly innovate. Following the Holy Spirit is the key. The Holy Spirit did what the Spirit of God did in the years of Martin Luther. In the years of John Wesley, He did what He did in the years of John Wesley. In 1904, in Evan Roberts, that was what the Holy Spirit did in Evan Roberts. In our generation, God still does new things. When we were promoting that God would do new things, not long after, the Stream of Praise Music Ministries released a song called God Will Do New Things. We often sing that song, God Will Do New Things.
So today, brothers and sisters, following the Holy Spirit is the key. We do not follow the traditions of God; we break down what the Holy Spirit leads us to break down. Some people may challenge me, how do you know it is the Holy Spirit? It is very simple because we are a church that prays, and the Spirit of God will definitely lead us. So today, brothers and sisters, you must know that you should not conform to this world; you must constantly renew and transform so that we may test and approve what God’s good, pleasing, and perfect will.
What drives us to change constantly? It is because the Spirit of God leads us, because wonderful things constantly attract us. Wonderful things constantly drive us to innovate.
Renewing Our Minds, Experiencing Miracles
I think I am a very curious person. I want to know everything, I want to fix everything. Including when carpenters and bricklayers are working, I go over to take a look and think about what they are doing. You must know that the Spirit of God is leading you to a new stage ahead of you. The Spirit of God is leading you to a new stage in your life. If you are a primary school student, then the primary school student must enter the stage of a middle school student; if you are a middle school student, you must enter the stage of a university student; if you are a university student, you must enter the stage of professional development. But we must continue to experience God in every aspect of our lives because wonderful things are set before us. We will be attracted to experience God. In this, there is a concept that everyone must know: God is not in tradition; God is in renewal.
When you are renewing your mind and constantly renewing and transforming, you will experience one thing: you will test and approve what God’s good, pleasing, and perfect will is. If you are in a place that clings to tradition, you cannot experience God because that is what the Bible says. So we must leave that comfort zone and seek a breakthrough. Later, when I was preparing the manuscript, I discovered that what God allowed Abraham to experience was not a state of drift and displacement, but a state of constantly experiencing God's wonderful grace. So God said to Abraham, Abram, leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you. Could God not bless him in that place? Yes, but God wanted Abraham to leave his comfort zone and constantly seek a breakthrough.
Today, who among us is seeking a breakthrough? Isn't this all about seeking a breakthrough? Yes, it is very uncomfortable when you are stuck; I also know it is very uncomfortable when you are stuck. Sometimes, you get so stuck that you really want to lose your temper and smash the computer keyboard. Then, your hand reaches for the keyboard, and you say no, if it breaks, I will have to spend money to buy another one. Leaving that comfort zone is a breakthrough. So today, brothers and sisters, not only does God tell Abraham to experience God in this way, but He also tells us to experience God in this way. Actually, from the time I believed in the Lord until today, my life can be described in two words: hustle. Always hustling! But in this hustle, I experience so many miracles. Sometimes I am very tired from the hustle, but the hustle is so wonderful, so many stories happen.
So, some people say, Pastor, why do you tell so many stories in your sermons? Are they made up? They are not made up; they are genuinely not made up because I often experience God's wonder. When we leave our comfort zone, our comfortable area, you will know God and experience God. Because you start to become helpless. When you enter an unfamiliar environment, you must learn what it means to be as shrewd as a snake and as innocent as a dove. Isn't it? If you are in a very comfortable place, you are the local kingpin; you don't need to be as shrewd as a snake.
Leaving Comfort, Embracing God's Wonder
Therefore, brothers and sisters, you must know that leaving a comfortable area and entering an unknown environment is where you will experience God because your heart cannot remain in a comfortable environment. So today, our minds must be constantly renewed so that we can know God and experience God. Knowing God and experiencing God means knowing God's wonder and experiencing God's wonder. Then that will make us often very excited. The other day, when I was describing it to the brothers and sisters, I said, I often walk on a tightrope. I don't know what the road ahead is like. I just walk forward by faith, swaying on the tightrope. After walking past, I look back, and below the tightrope is an abyss. Fortunately, I didn't fall. In fact, I really haven't fallen until today.
What does the Bible say? God is a wonderful God. Experiencing wonderful things is what our God has prepared for us. It is what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has conceived. So today, we must know that experiencing a wonderful God requires the renewal and change of our minds. Take our healing and deliverance work, for example. In the beginning, we started with small demons, casting them out one by one. Eventually, we discovered that we were dealing with more complex levels. Today, our healing and deliverance must enter a level where people's minds are renewed, and then people can be delivered.
So today, I wonder how many more wonderful things are waiting for us ahead. There are many, many more wonderful things waiting for us ahead. Because our God wants us to experience these things. I really hope that our brothers and sisters have this expectation. What kind of expectation? Although it is walking on a tightrope, although it is an adventurous journey. But I tell you, besides using the word tossing to describe it, I think a more appropriate description is wonderful.
The early scientists were these Christians who constantly researched and studied the universe to understand God's creation. So, with the development of science, the more you know, the more you don't know. According to our logical system, the more I know, the less I don't know. But now scientific development has found that the more I know, the more I don't know. Knowing God is endless, and knowing God's creation is also endless. You just finished knowing this, and God created something new over there, so you must re-know it, right? Because our God is always creating, constantly creating, so in Romans 11:33,
Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! (Romans 11:33)
Originally, God is full of wisdom and knowledge, and we cannot fully know it even if we exhaust our life's strength. So when Paul wrote Romans to chapter 12, he said:
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. (Romans 12:1)
Sometimes I feel like the brothers and sisters are being abused when you serve. I really don't want to be like the Pharaoh of Egypt, always holding a whip to make you serve. If you don't serve, I will whip you. I really don't like doing such things. Today, I want to share with everyone that God's wonder must become our experience. It must encourage us to experience God's wonder even if we go through thousands of hardships. This is to urge us in view of God's mercy to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.
Awe of God, Continuous Renewal
Why is it true and proper? Because you are the one who gains from doing this. What do you think God gains? I often think, what am I that God should care for me? It is because I need God. I really need God. We all need God, don't we? Because we live to experience God's wonder. If people don't experience God's wonder and just go sightseeing all day long, what can you see? You can't see it. God is not in the sightseeing. God is in our constantly renewed minds. To what extent is it renewed? It is to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice. Then your service is your true and proper worship. Because you must constantly renew and change in your service.
IX. The Spirit of God Wants Me to Enter Into Constant Renewal
So my service this year is different from next year, next year is different from the year after, and the year after is also different from next year. The year after next is also different from the year after. Why? Because the Spirit of God wants me to enter into constant renewal. Holy! God's rich knowledge is too wonderful. I think today brothers and sisters must know that Paul added therefore in front of this passage. Therefore, do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
The passage in front talks about the Israelites' disbelief. They did not believe in God's word, so they created a tradition, which Jesus called a brood of vipers. Do you want to become a brood of vipers? The road to becoming a brood of vipers is called tradition. If you want to become priests of God, children of God, then take this path of continuous renewal. Even our service must be renewed. So in chapter 11, it talks about the Israelites constantly losing God's grace. They created a tradition because they did not believe. People like to live in a sense of security. But that sense of security has no security. Insecurity is full of security. The most dangerous place is the safest, and the safest place is the most dangerous.
Therefore, brothers and sisters, you must know for sure that Paul said a very harsh thing in chapter 11. In chapter 11:33, he said, Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! He also said that as long as you continue in his kindness, otherwise, you will also be cut off.
Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off. (Romans 11:22)
X. Awe Will Make Us Constantly Renew
Do you fear God? What does the fear of God mean? It means that you must do what God says. Awe will make us constantly renew. There was a man to whom God gave a thousand talents, and the other two men were given two thousand talents and five thousand talents respectively. The man with a thousand talents dug a hole and buried the silver in the ground. It seems that there are still such people now. They still dig a hole and put the RMB in a jar. By the time they dig it out, the RMB is moldy. But I tell you, Singapore has created a plastic currency, so you don't have to worry about it. Singapore's money can be buried underground. But after he buried the silver, he said, God, you are severe, you are a harsh and mean God, so I buried it below, so that when you come back, I can return it to you.
He did not believe that God would turn his one thousand into two thousand. When the Lord Jesus returned, he said, You wicked, lazy servant! Throw him into the darkness. Do you understand? Don't be such a Christian. If you want to bury it, bury yourself in the ground. This is not what God said. What is the problem? The problem is, do we really fear God? If God says you take this money to do business, to manage it. Burying it in the ground is not called management. Innovation, discovering opportunities, and constantly exploring.
Awe and Love, the Power of Renewal
The person who received two thousand would believe that since the master believed in me and let me do business, I would boldly do it and boldly innovate and develop it. As a result, opportunities fell from the sky. He used two thousand talents and earned another two thousand. The one with five thousand talents boldly did it and earned another five thousand. Do you think he would lose money? The Lord Jesus did not say here that the one with two thousand lost money, and the one with five thousand also lost money. It did not say that. It said that two thousand earned two thousand, and five thousand earned five thousand.
If you are in constant renewal, it will definitely turn two thousand into four thousand, and it will definitely turn five thousand into ten thousand. Do you understand? Because God is the one who accomplishes this. If you fear God and carefully observe His words and do according to His words, God will surely make you a blessed person. How can a blessed person lose money? A blessed person is sowing seeds, and there will definitely be a return! The problem is that you don't do according to God's words, so how can God bless you, right? Today is too amazing. Someone found a job in one breath, and he was shocked! It turns out that God had already prepared an opportunity for you there. You must do according to God's words. God lets us constantly renew and change, so that we can test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Let us go to investigate, let us experience His wonderful grace, so the ones with two thousand and five thousand experienced it, but the one with one thousand did not experience it, because he did not fear God. He thought God was a harsh God. He did not fear God and did not do according to God's words, so brothers and sisters must know today that awe is a great motivation. Do you have a heart of fearing God in you? If you have a heart of fearing God, you will do as God says. If you don't have a heart of awe in you, oh well, let's forget it, this is too much trouble, this is impossible, that is impossible, all are such words, what is the result? See what the Bible says?
Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off. (Romans 11:22)
You must fear God, this is very important! In management, when I was a boss in the company, I liked to use fear to manage. Fear is a very good motivation. Why do senior leaders often check work? That is to release a kind of fear, let you fear to do your work well, this is a lower level of motivation. Today, if we do according to God's words, if it is a fear to motivate us, we know that we still have the image of slaves on our bodies. If it is love that motivates us, that is another level. So today's management uses fear at a low level. You know what we read in elementary school, capitalists holding whips and whipping workers. This was really the case before. But today, if I am a pastor and hold a whip to whip our full-time co-workers, it will not work. Because you use your brains to work, not your hands.
Awe and Love, the Power of Renewal
This fear operates at a very low level, but it is a motivation in management. If adults fear, they will do their work well. If children fear, they will study well. So the fear of God will motivate us. If you don't know that God will cut you off, you will only be traditional and will be cut off like the Israelites. So today we must all be careful not to stay in the past experiences. Past experiences are not the Holy Spirit. Past experiences are the experiences you have summarized. Let me say this, I will say a few casually today. There was a man who did not have the Ark of the Covenant. He carried a wooden cabinet, and then there was a flood. The story I heard was told by Filipinos. When there was a flood, they said that Joshua and his people carried the Ark of the Covenant and stepped into the Jordan River, and the water opened. As a result, they also stepped into the water, and later they all died in the flood, and the cabinet floated down. What is the problem? That thing cannot be copied. Faith can be copied, but that kind of behavior mode cannot be copied. Today I tell you, don't carry a whole cabinet like the Ark of the Covenant when there is a flood. You can't get through if you carry it. You better protect yourself well and don't fight against the flood.
Some people fight against the flood. They often see small videos when they go to play. I want to share a concept with you. The small stream is very clear and very good. Suddenly you see that the water becomes a little muddy. You must leave quickly, the flood is in front. Some people don't know. If that thing changes, you must know that something is happening and leave the dangerous area quickly. There is a small video recording a group of people playing in the stream. As a result, the water came whoosh. After it came, they stood on the stone, and several people grabbed it tightly, but they didn't grab it, and they were washed away in an instant, disappearing in the video. Do you know what will happen when a tsunami occurs? When you are picking up shells on the beach, you will find that the sea water retreats whoosh for several miles and disappears. You must know that it will come back. You will be gone when it comes back. Wow, so many shells, and continue to pick them up, because the sea water has receded. In the future, you will become shells.
You must fear God. You must constantly renew and change. Observe, so that we can examine. You must examine, right? You must examine carefully. Once you examine, you will experience God. I think there are not many people among us who have not experienced God. There are many people who have experienced God. Why? Because we are constantly renewing and changing. If you also become a person who is constantly renewing and changing, you will definitely experience God. Sometimes I say don't work there, change a job. It's good to jump, isn't it? So sometimes we should not stick to the old logical system. God uses fear to motivate us in front, but that is a lower level. God will also use Christ's love to motivate us to constantly renew. So in 2 Corinthians 5:14, it says:
For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. (2 Corinthians 5:14)
That is to say, Christ’s love compels us, compelling us to go where? We will rise to a higher level: no longer live for ourselves, but live for him who died for us and was raised again, offering ourselves as a living sacrifice, that is what it means. Start to no longer live for yourself, but live for the Lord; turn back from the road of certain death and become a person who is constantly renewed. Because God uses Christ's love to motivate us. The miracles that Jesus performed in his life are always so enviable. What did Jesus do? He spit a little, mixed it with mud, and smeared it on that person's eyes, and the eyes could see. Wow, I find that spitting a little and mixing it with mud, I have a bit of a psychological obstacle. I don't dare to smear that thing on your eyes. I still need God's love to motivate me.
The Necessity of Renewal and the Wonder of God
Jesus often did very wonderful things. If you want to describe his life, especially the more than three years of service, I tell you, use miracles. If you delete the four words miracles and wonders from the faith of Christ Jesus, a pastor said very well, he said that the entire Bible would only have the front and back covers left. If you delete miracles and wonders, the Bible will only have the front and back covers left. If you delete miracles and wonders from the faith of Jesus Christ, what a sorrow it is—we should have experienced these wonderful things, but we did not experience them.
Christ's love motivates me. I urge everyone with God's mercy to offer yourselves as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God. Our service is true and proper, isn't it? Do you want to live well? If you want to live well, serve in this way. Do you want to live wonderfully? If you want to live wonderfully, serve in this way.
Don't say that I am constantly renewing in spiritual matters. Actually, I am constantly renewing in all matters. Your work must experience God's wonder. Why does the church have to enter a church that does practical things today? Because doing practical things is a key to experiencing God's wonder. Our Jesus is a Jesus who does practical things, absolutely not a false and perfunctory Jesus. Absolutely not. Our God is a God who does practical things. So I train our brothers and sisters, train their ability to make a living, because the Bible speaks very clearly. It also says in the Old Testament, If you carefully observe my words and do them, I will bless everything you do. If you do nothing, how can you experience blessing? So in Ecclesiastes and Proverbs, if I sleep a little longer, hold my hands every day, and hold my knees, poverty will come like a thief. That is not abundance.
So today brothers and sisters must know that Jesus has died for us and risen for us. The most wonderful thing in a person's life is to be resurrected from the dead, and it has opened up a path to eternal life for us. Let us love God in this way, and know that what God has prepared for us, for those who love Him, is what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has conceived. So today, serving God in this way is true and proper. Brothers and sisters, don't think that taking the original road is a good road. The original road is not a good road. The road that gratifies the flesh is definitely not a good road, and the road of knowing good and evil is not a good road. We must let the thoughts in our minds become the same as God's thoughts, and we can become a God-man in the world.
Summary: Keep Renewing
I will make a summary: we must constantly renew. In the previous generations, you may still be able to find reasons if you did not renew, because farmers have been doing the same thing for the past few thousand years. But in this generation, even farmers are different. In this generation, we have the Internet, communication tools, and many various things. Many people refuse to use them, but I will use them a lot. What is the problem with using them a lot? It is constantly renewing. Today, if we do business and do not renew, we will die. If we do work and do not renew, we will die. If we do anything and do not renew, we will die. If Christians do not renew, God will cut you off. This is a very serious problem.
Network Church: The Practice of Innovation and Renewal
The concept of network church is what we have implemented best. We feed on the Internet, we train on the Internet, we teach brothers and sisters on the Internet, and we even train many brothers and sisters in practical skills on the Internet, so that they can perform very well in their jobs. We do this, and some people criticize us, as if we are not spiritual and they are more spiritual. I think the church needs to constantly renew. That is to say, we have reached such a level today, but we are still far from God's standard. In fact, the church should lead the wave of innovation, and the church should be a church that promotes innovation. We must constantly break through traditions, and even the traditions that we have established ourselves must be broken through.
Recently I have been thinking about one thing: whether to have our full-time co-workers, of course, those over 50 are excluded, but those in their twenties, I don't care whether you study liberal arts or science, you must learn a little bit of computer programming skills. Start to be an innovative person in this generation, constantly renew, I tell you, God will let you experience His wonder, and even let you experience His abundance. If you live in poverty today, you must constantly create and constantly renew, and you will gain the opportunity that God has given you.
