【Bible Study】Leviticus 01 - A Whole Burnt Offering to God, Acceptable to Him!

Leviticus Bible Study List

Introduction

Good morning, everyone. Let's look at Leviticus Chapter 1, which discusses the burnt offering. The burnt offering is different from other offerings in that it has a distinct characteristic: the entire sacrificial animal is burned completely on the altar. After the animal is burned, only ashes remain. We often wonder: such a large sacrifice, burned to ashes, what a waste! Does God need to eat these things? Moreover, a bull is offered, wouldn't it be better to keep the bull for plowing? If it were like other offerings, where the remains are distributed to the priests after burning, it wouldn't feel like a waste. But the burnt offering is to be wholly dedicated to God.

The Lord called to Moses and spoke to him from the tent of meeting, saying, 'Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, When any one of you brings an offering to the Lord, you shall bring your offering of livestock from the herd or flock. If his offering is a burnt offering from the herd, he shall offer a male without blemish. He shall bring it to the entrance of the tent of meeting, that he may be accepted before the Lord.' (Leviticus 1:1-3)

First Concept: Your Offering Must Be Acceptable to God

This chapter speaks of several very important concepts. The first concept is: your offering must be acceptable to God. A long time ago, a friend asked me a question: If someone has only one cow, should he offer it to God or keep it for himself? If he needs to offer a tithe, should he cut off a part of the cow to offer? I felt this was a tragedy because he only had one cow left to live on, wasn't he a poor man? Why are people poor? Because they lack the concept of giving.

A person is poor because he lacks the concept of giving, and without the concept of giving, he will become even poorer. Therefore, giving and wealth are closely related. For example, when an Israelite decides to offer a cow to God, he must know that his life has already become very poor, so he must begin to learn to give.

When early Christians tithed, some of them felt very distressed because they were poor and distressed about their giving, which I understood. But my logic of giving is: since I live a poor life even without giving, I might as well give to God, perhaps I can be accepted by God, and my life will be better.

Today, whatever offering you give to God, if you have a poor mentality within you, you will find it difficult to give. If you give with a poor mentality and don't know that giving is something that is acceptable to God, you may feel distressed about giving. But are we pursuing to be accepted by God, or to be accepted by ourselves?

We must establish the concept of being accepted by God. From the time Adam and Eve sinned in Genesis, their sons Cain and Abel offered sacrifices to God. As a result, one offering was accepted, and the other was not. The one whose offering was accepted felt that offering sacrifices was a particularly good thing, while the one whose offering was not accepted felt that offering sacrifices was really annoying.

Those who are accepted by God in their offerings prosper in everything they do. Those who are not accepted by God encounter many hardships in their work. So, when Cain saw that Abel's offering was accepted, he became angry, and hatred arose within him, which led to the problem becoming even more serious. Therefore, if people want to live well, they must know how to live well. Being accepted by God is the only way to live well! If you are not accepted by God, you will definitely encounter many troubles in life.

From the first day I believed in the Lord, I pursued whether I was accepted by God. If you ask me, is it better for me to live well being accepted by God, or to live well not being accepted by God? I will tell you that being accepted by God is very important, and everything I pursue is to be accepted by God. My giving is also accepted by God because I wholly dedicate myself to God.

In the early days, my giving was just to test God. After I paid my tithe, my salary soared. After my salary increased, I began to give twenty percent. Later, I felt that giving twenty percent was not enough, so I started giving more. Do you ask if I suffered a loss? I didn't suffer a loss at all.

Why do people not live well? Because there is sin in people, so they are not accepted by God. Living is a very spiritual matter, and offering sacrifices is also very spiritual. Our brothers and sisters often have a lot of problems such as ankylosing spondylitis, cancer, joint pain, and skin diseases. Not to mention the pain caused by these major diseases, even a small toothache can kill you!

Life is not easy! A small toothache can make us suffer so much, then what qualifications do we have not to pursue being accepted by God? What qualifications do we have to say: I will just live like this, I will pursue what I pursue. We must understand today that whether you live well or not has nothing to do with whether you work hard or not. Of course, those who are accepted by God are not lazy either, because being accepted by God has nothing to do with one's own efforts. I am not saying that people can be lazy because laziness is definitely not good.

Think carefully about this matter today, can you sort out what you are pursuing? If you are busy with work, you ask God for leave, then how can you be accepted by God? If you were asked to offer a bull to God, would you have the time to slaughter the bull and prepare firewood? Just preparing the firewood for burning the bull would take a lot of time.

Today, we are just praying, studying the Bible, and serving in front of God, which is already a great grace. If I were to serve like this today, I would say: God, I really thank you. If I were to go back to the era of Leviticus, I think we would also be slaughtering cattle and preparing firewood all day long, getting covered in a fishy and smelly mess, and be busy all day long.

But now it's so simple, come, let me lead you in prayer! Sometimes I'm quite proud, leading you in prayer for three hours, five hours, but what is that? It's nothing, because according to the standards of Leviticus, it's still far from enough.

Second Concept: Wholly Dedicate to God

Today I give you such a concept, that is, no matter what, you must offer it to God. Why is the burnt offering acceptable to God? Because it is wholly dedicating ourselves to God, it will be accepted by God. What is it to take out a bull? To wholly dedicate to God, even if it delays our business and work, what does that matter? We are busy with certification exams and ask God for leave; recently the business is busy, and we also ask God for leave, how can you possibly be accepted by God?

I have a small advantage - I am serious with God, and nothing can shake my heart to offer to God. Some people say is this true? Sometimes I am almost out of a job, but I still wholly serve my God and serve very carefully; later, when I didn't have a job, I still served God carefully because I only wanted to be accepted by God. I only have one pursuit in my life, that is, to wholly dedicate myself to God and be accepted by God. Some people say, then do you still live your life? What does life matter? What do children matter? Can they compare to God?

Many people cannot accept this concept, but whether you accept it or not, this is God's requirement. Whether you like it or not, the difference between being accepted by God and not being accepted by God is still quite big. This is why in this world, many people are idle and have nothing to do but still suffer meaningless sins. So, do we choose to wholly dedicate ourselves to God today? To wholly dedicate ourselves to God is a burnt offering, which is a fragrant fire offering before the Lord. The first chapter of Leviticus talks about this.

Some time ago, I said that Leviticus would bring new healing and deliverance. This healing and deliverance is to be accepted by God from the thoughts and intentions. To wholly dedicate ourselves to God is not ten percent, not a tenth, not even two-tenths, but to wholly dedicate ourselves to God, which is to be accepted by God. What does Paul say in Romans?

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. (Romans 12:1)

Can you understand? If you have some difficulty understanding this, then you need to slowly digest it.

A few days ago, a sister gave herself a pretty good judgment. In the past, she felt that she could just live in this mediocre state, but the more she thought that way, the less she could even do mediocre. Later, I spent a lot of time adjusting her from this mediocre state.

Recently, her judgment of herself has deviated a bit. She asked me how much of her loser mentality has been dealt with? I said: At most, twenty percent. After I finished speaking, she was very upset because she thought she had dealt with sixty percent. My judgment was several times different from her own.

Many times, our judgment and God's judgment are quite different. Because we always feel that we want to be accepted, but the result is that God did not accept us, so we get angry. For example: I am already like this, what else do you want me to do? I come every Sunday, I come to every Bible study, what else do you want me to do?

In fact, that is far from enough, what God wants is a complete dedication. Later, she encountered some things and was very entangled. She cried there. When I served her, I gave her examples one by one, and she felt that it was really like that. I said: Twenty percent is too much, because I want to give you some encouragement.

It is easy for Christians to lower their standards. What is the result of lowering the standards? It is not being accepted. Cain's offering was not accepted because of his attitude. Some people say: God, I am already like this, what else do you want me to do? It seems that God needs you very much. You are a sinner, you are in sin, you do not wholly dedicate yourself to God, who are you offering to?

The priority in our hearts really determines what people will be like in the future. This is a matter of mentality. If we work part-time, you will find that what the boss cares about is an attitude. If you say to the boss: What else do you want me to do? Your boss will say: I can't do anything to you, hurry up and leave.

In the past, Chinese history has told many such stories. The General Who Pacified the West was later beheaded, the General Who Pacified the South was also beheaded, and the General Who Pacified the East was also beheaded. Why did this happen? Because people didn't know who they were after working for a long time. They thought that heaven was the boss and they were the second in command. Later, heaven was no longer the boss, and they themselves were the boss.

Do we have such a heart in front of God, I am a sinner, how can I be accepted by God? I will wholly dedicate myself and tell God: God, everything I have is yours! Isn't it right to offer a bull to God? Even if I only have one cow at home, what's wrong with me offering it to you? God, you are everything to me! Let's do the math, is it worthwhile to do this? Of course, it is worthwhile to offer sacrifices to God!

Some people will think this way: I only have one sheep at home, should I offer it to God? Then you can keep it, you are so poor that you are living on this, do you still need to ask? I encourage everyone to readjust their thoughts and intentions. We are humans, not gods, we are sinners. If you don't wholly dedicate yourself to God, what are you going to do? When we wholly dedicate ourselves to God, we are accepted by God, and He blots out our transgressions.

Our burnt offering is to burn ourselves to God, not to really burn with fire, but to let our lives burn like a raging fire, to serve God with the right attitude, and not to be afraid of trouble. Do you think it's troublesome to have ankylosing spondylitis and cancer? Of course, it's troublesome. As long as we have a small urinary tract infection, problems with our eyes, ears, nose, or tongue, or if we can't defecate, it will make you very uncomfortable.

One part of a person's body is broken and it's enough for you to suffer. Let us not live for ourselves, but use the fire on God's altar to ignite our lives, let us live for God, dedicate ourselves completely to God, and be holy vessels in this world. This is a living sacrifice, fragrant to the Lord.

What better choice is there in this world? I have a feeling that among us, a large group of people, if they choose again, will be completely released. Healing and deliverance begin with giving, knowing that you have suffered enough sin, and no longer living for yourself, dedicating yourself completely to God, you will be delivered. Do you know why you want to offer one without blemish? To leave the eyes for the one without eyes, and the legs for the one without legs. How can this work? If we do not offer it completely, and offer what is crippled to God, God will not accept it either.

If our hands sin, our feet sin, we will not be accepted by God. You can investigate, and after investigating for a long time, you will know what is big and what is small. Among us, there are still many people who suffer from serious illnesses, including children who have problems, which are closely related to the condition of their mothers, and the problems of the mothers are closely related to themselves.

Let's rethink, have we suffered enough sins? Don't live painfully like Cain, make a right choice again, and many people will be released. If you wholly dedicate yourself to God, your sins will be forgiven. Our God can't wait for you to walk out of sin.

The priest shall burn all of it on the altar as a burnt offering, a fire offering of a pleasing aroma to the Lord. No matter what our living conditions are, it cannot determine our attitude. Our attitude is everything. Everything can be put down, and nothing can stop me from wholly dedicating myself to God.

I would like to share this benefit and advantage with you. I am like a wise foreman, leading everyone to build a glorious temple. Let each of our brothers and sisters live out prosperity, live out a God-accepted appearance, this is holy, God accepts, pleases God, and our such giving is reasonable and without boasting.

We no longer live that struggling life, no longer in the bondage of poverty and disease, no longer live in the devil's lies. When we are accepted by God, it is when our prayers are answered by God. Loving God means wholly dedicating to God, which is definitely not a hard job. If you regard serving God as a hard job, thinking that you are doing a lot of things, the result is that your problems will never be solved. There is only one thing that can solve all your problems, that is, to wholly dedicate yourself to God.

To wholly dedicate to God, to be accepted by God. This is the key to living out abundance, living out beauty, and living out prosperity. Starting now, make wholly dedicating to God the most important thing in our lives. May God bless everyone.
