【Bible Study】Job Chapters 32-37 - Elihu and Job's Understanding of God! (Part 2)

2015-10-24 15,099 Job

Part 2: Job's Misconceptions About God

We often encounter Christians who have been believers for many years, yet their spiritual lives remain weak. Do you aspire to be a resounding Christian? Are you truly willing to lay down your life for God? When your work conflicts with serving God, would you forsake your job to serve Him? Today, let Pastor Liu guide us in making such choices, in becoming a resounding Christian!

Questions for Reflection

What are the aspects of Elihu's understanding of God?

How does God manifest His mighty glory through us?

When faced with circumstances and temptations, do you perceive it as God attacking you?

First Perception: The Nature of God

Elihu spoke the truth, and I believe he was delivering a pronouncement on behalf of God. To make people understand what kind of God He is. God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). Who among us dares to pound our chest and say: God, I thank you, I am willing to lay down my life for you.

Are you truly willing to lay down your life for God? When your work conflicts with serving God, wouldn't it be good to take a break from your work and rest? I once put it down, and after putting it down, God bestowed honor and dignity upon me, raising me up step by step.

There was a sister who came among us, but later could not agree, left the church and went back to the workplace, and then returned to us again because she received a warning letter that her job would be gone in 60 days. After returning for a few days, her job slightly turned around and she left the church again. She treated her job as if it were her life, and she has been fired a few days ago.

If you can protect your job by relying on your own abilities, then go ahead and do it. But as for me, I absolutely do not rely on myself; I rely on the God who loves me. Since He gave me Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, will He not also give me all things? If I do not hold onto God, what else should I grasp? In fact, I am well-qualified to grasp onto work, but I know that is not my path because my answers are all within God.

When Elihu spoke these words, God, in their deepest slumber, opened their ears with visions, told them in their dreams, and sealed instruction to them, to turn them aside from their deeds and conceal pride from them; He keeps back their souls from the pit, their lives from perishing by the sword. (Job 33:16-18)

In the Old Testament, God did not want Old Eli to be sentenced to death, warning him again and again to turn back to God. God also warned Saul again and again, but they were unwilling to turn back, walking in their own schemes.

Today, in our church, there are still many people who want to walk in their own schemes. He told me a lot, but I didn't hear a word from Bible, all his own schemes. You are going to jump into a pit. God will not stop you, but the choice is yours and mine. This is Elihu's first understanding of God.

Second Perception: God Redeems My Soul from the Pit, and My Life Shall See the Light

God performs all these things twice, in fact, three times, with mankind, to turn back their souls from the pit, that they may be enlightened with the light of life. Today we must know that God is the God who redeems us. God wants to redeem us from the pit, and He does such things to people countless times.

A sinner, no matter when he turns back to God, God will accept him again. Although the Bible speaks harshly: If it is such a person, there is no chance of repenting again. In fact, it is said very harshly. But I think, as long as this person truly repents and turns back to God again, God will still accept him because God saves people.

So let us carefully consider, do we treat God's redemption as a rag or a treasure? You and I were originally hopeless people, with no hope at all, living and dying. What you brag about in the world is nothing more than toil and trouble. Thank God for those who have not gotten cancer, but no matter what kind of disease is enough to suffer!

What can we boast of in this world? Do you really know your future? You don’t even know if you will see the early sun tomorrow, what are you boasting about? What are you planning for? You don’t have the final say on when you will die, so what do you have any say in? What good does it do to cling tightly to your work? Some people say: Pastor doesn’t understand me. Do you think I can understand you? I tell you that God doesn’t understand you either. It is you who do not understand yourself.

Today I will tell you a heartfelt word, your work, cannot save you from the grave. So when someone told me something, I told him: Do you know the truth of the spiritual world? He said I know. Then why are you still saying these nonsense? There are not many people among us who do not know a single thing about the spiritual world. More or less, you have seen the truth of the spiritual world, haven’t you? Don’t think there are no such things.

The couple who came among us last Sunday, the man called me, his mother-in-law had liver cancer and had only two months to live. Recently, his mother-in-law often saw beings from hell. It turns out that what we Chinese people say about beings from hell is not fake.

Do you know what the bull-headed, horse-faced beings mean? That is the spirit of death, he asked me why his mother-in-law always saw bull-headed and horse-faced beings and what should he do? The spirit of hell has come to arrest your mother-in-law, what should you do? Fight a war and defeat this spirit of death. But in this world, God has overcome the grave, hell, and the spirit of death, and has put this authority in your hands. Do we really cherish such authority to use it?

Among us, I believe you must know how precious this authority is. I am very moved that a person who has experienced God does not regard Him as a treasure, but often insults God. If I live in this generation, when I was young, I could return to China and have the opportunity to continue attending meetings. I tell you I would not miss a single one.

Isn’t it good to develop such a character? Know God, God’s redemption, save us from the grave, hell, death, save people’s souls from the pit and from hell, and then enlighten people to become living people with spirit, what a precious thing this is! But many people do not value it. I think what Elihu said is so good.

God Is Never A God Who Does Evil

When we read Genesis, we often have some non-believers who come among us to study the Bible. God is too cruel, how can he just destroy Sodom like that. I listened to him and said: Friend, if you and I were judges, how would you judge? He asked me to tell him what happened in this place.

I said, there are two places, anyone who passes through this land, from the age of 1 to 70, anyone who comes in as long as they pass by this place will be raped. And all the men, women and children in the city will do this until the person is killed. I ask you, if that person is your family member, how would you judge this city? He said yes. They are sentenced to death!

Today, if we hear about some countries on the Internet that often gang rape children, you would find it hard to accept, right? If you are someone who accepts it, do you still have some justice and conscience? What does God say? Even if there are fifty, forty, or thirty good people in this place, I will not destroy this city for the sake of these good people. God will never do evil.

Today, when we see things that we don’t understand, we just say we don’t understand. Don’t judge God. We think that judging God can be forgiven, but in fact it cannot be forgiven, because we do not know God. God gave us his only begotten Son, will he not also give us all things? We don’t even treat him as precious.

God is in heaven, seeing people trapped in sin, and God’s Spirit cannot rest. God is extremely sad. In the days of Noah, God said I regret making people on earth. Do you know how hurt God felt at that time?

Today, there are also some brothers and sisters among us. In fact, I think if everyone really understands your pastor, I don’t want to care about what your pastor has invested in you, because it all comes from God, but if what I have invested in you is regarded as a restraint. If it is regarded as corruption, in fact, I still have pain in my heart, but my healing ability is faster, and I don’t care too much.

When I returned to Taipei this time, I declined time and time again. I said that when I arrived at the airport, I would just take a taxi to the meeting place. There was no need to trouble anyone, but they insisted on sending a car to pick me up. I was very surprised. When I returned to Singapore, I told him that I would just take a taxi, but a pastor had to drive me and personally send me back to the airport. I am very grateful. I will not treat such love as a restraint, but as an encouragement. I will continue to manifest God’s glory and inherit the Mingding Destiny of Lingliang Church in Singapore, because I believe this is God’s Mingding Destiny in me.

God Doesn't Lack You and Me

I will reply to you and your friends. Look up at the sky and gaze at the clouds high above you. If you sin, how does it affect God? If your transgressions increase, how does it harm Him? If you are righteous, what do you give to Him? What does He receive from your hand? Your wickedness only affects humans like yourself, and your righteousness benefits others. (Job 35:4-8)

This part talks about Elihu's understanding of God: if you practice righteousness, God will not have more; if you are trapped in sin, God will not lack anything. God will not have more or less because of what you do. God is the self-existent God, He is the God who does not lack anything, we must not overestimate ourselves. We say with a grateful heart: God, we thank you for saving me from all darkness. I come before you, I cannot add anything to you, but I know that you love me, and you long for me to turn to you and receive benefits in your presence.

If you think about it carefully, you will know that the earth is like a speck of dust in the universe. People on earth are a speck of dust on earth. God owns all things in the universe. We are enjoying such grace in His presence. It is only because He loves us and hopes that we will be saved. As for what we choose, don’t overestimate yourself. God does not have more or less of.

Elihu's understanding of God: As for whether there is one more Job or one less Job in the sky, what is the big deal?, it’s just that God longs to be glorified because of us. He longs to share His glory with us and give us benefits. So when Paul wrote the Pauline epistles, he said that I want more people to share the benefits of this gospel. If you come forward with a purpose, that is to come to God and get benefits. I tell you that is the right idea, not God, what can I do for you, of course it is good that you have such a heart, as God has already done everything in you.

Today you must know that You and I are works of art in God's hands. But are we willing to let God carve us and make us vessels that manifest His glory? Or do we let our own nature do what we want and become tools for the devil to manifest the powers of darkness?

So today, I hope our brothers and sisters all know that We need God, not God needs us. God just doesn't want us to perish because He loves us. God is very upset when we perish, because He loves us very much.

Seeing the people he created, entering hell, that is no joke. Today, if someone among us enters hell and walks around, he will never want to go to that place again. He will run this heavenly road no matter what. If you don’t know the seriousness of this problem, and still think you can give God something, as if you want to give God some face to trust Him, then you are wrong. God does not have more of us, nor does He have less of us. Because He Himself is the self-existent God, He Himself is an abundant God. He is so abundant to the point that He wants to give His abundance to us. This is Elihu's understanding of God.

God Honors You and Me

God is mighty, yet He does not despise anyone; His wisdom is profound. (Job 36:5)

Do you know how good our God is? God is mighty, and even though we are like a speck of dust, He does not despise us. Do you know what honor this is? God respects you and I very much. He has complete omnipotence to deprive you of all free will, but He respects you and never despises you. He sees us as treasures.

So there is a passage in the New Testament that says: The kingdom of heaven is like a man who seeks treasures, and then finds a treasure, and then he buries the treasure in the ground, and then sells all that he has and buys the land. In order to get that treasure in his land. Then many people think that we buried the treasure, but after thinking about it carefully, it turns out that God buried the treasure.

He spares no effort to buy the treasure in the ground, it turns out that you and I are the treasure. You must know that people with faith are considered treasures in the eyes of God. How precious is he? He does not despise anyone, his wisdom is vast, he does not protect the lives of the wicked, but he vindicates the afflicted. He always cares for the righteous, so that the righteous may sit on the throne with the king and be exalted forever.

It was God's will to save us from the dust. If we have such faith in us, He will cause us to sit on His throne. Heavens! If there is someone who does not want such grace, I would say that this is the biggest fool in the world, who does not know how to enjoy the honor of a king, and does not know that you and I are a royal priesthood.

So if you have the opportunity in the future, when you go out to preach the gospel, you must carry the image of a royal priest. I must tell everyone today. Money is like underworld money, it really doesn’t have much use. If we don’t know that we can sit on the throne with the King and God, we will have lived in vain as Christians.

I think I am looking forward to that day. I don’t know if I will get it, but I will forget what is behind and strive forward, running towards such a goal, and then receiving a reward from God’s hand. He exalts us not for a day or two, one day He will take you down. He wants to exalt you forever in the future because you can live a victorious Christian life on earth. You think what grace this is, so I think we today can only fully understand what is written in the Bible until we see the Lord.

But I feel particularly good after reading these words. I was originally a piece of dust, but God does not despise me, and He has prepared the grace of a royal priesthood for me, so that I can sit on the throne with Him in the future. If we despise our position today and value your work more than valuing God, and value money more than valuing God, then some of us are indeed, I think this theory of drumstick steamed bun may still have a market. But what I want to tell you is that the theory is not drumstick, it is king.

God's Power Transcends Our Reason

God is vast; we cannot fully know Him; His years cannot be numbered. (Job 36:26)

What is this part talking about? I tell you that God’s power transcends our reason. God is great, how great? We cannot fully know. So when we enter this spiritual world and begin to have a little understanding of God, I tell you that what you understand is not even a drop of seawater.

If you are only satisfied with this and give up constantly pursuing to know God, how foolish is that? If you get a drop of what you know in the ocean of God, it has already left you nowhere to go. If people get this little bit and start to be satisfied with the status quo, I tell you that this is considered foolish in God’s eyes.

How great God is, completely beyond our imagination. Someone said what are we going to do in heaven? I tell you that knowing God is an eternal thing. We can never imprison the path to knowing God. That is to say, in the wonders of God, we only know a little bit, and we only know a little bit of the wonders of knowing God. If we are a foolish person today, we begin to put down God’s revelation and no longer know God, and think that the work you do is everything in your life. It is very foolish in God’s eyes.

You know, the work God does is so wonderful, like rain, thunder and lightning, and even some things, He wants to use the sound of His thunder to reveal His deeds. I tell you that when a storm comes, animals know it, but people don’t know it. Don’t you think it’s strange? Don’t think that people know more than animals. You know that recently, rats have been walking on the streets of New York. They exaggerate that New York has been controlled by rats.

You need to know about the environment we live in. If animals start to be a little weird, you must know that something big will happen. You have to prepare well, so when God is doing these things, animals know it first and people know it later. People have to learn from animals. Don’t you think it’s amazing? Actually, it’s not to learn from animals, but to fear God. God wants to humiliate people and humiliate our scientists. I tell you that animals know things before our scientists do. Don’t you think it’s very strange?

In 1976, the Tangshan earthquake was recorded later. On that day, all the animals in the city and countryside were weird. For example, ducks that could not fly flew to the walls, and rats scurried everywhere. Strange things happened, but people didn’t know what was going to happen. Then there was a big earthquake at night, killing hundreds of thousands of people. People are too small, God is too great, completely beyond what you and I can imagine.

I give everyone encouragement today. Encourage everyone to study and pursue knowing God. Never let God one day declare to you: You must not enter my rest, and then cut off the relationship with people. We have no way to enter God's presence again. Aren’t the Israelites who died in the wilderness our example? Aren’t the Israelites who died in the wilderness the lessons we need to learn? Why do we still walk this stiff-hearted path today? I tell you, God's heart must be broken. God broke His own Son Jesus Christ for us, but people don’t treat it as precious.

Today, a sister came to the church in the morning. I heard her testimony. I am very grateful. I said, God, you are so amazing. You often exalt those who honor you, and you cause those who honor you to receive honor. After graduating from school, this sister originally didn’t want to be a teacher because she was afraid of standing on the stage. But today she became a teacher. After she became a teacher, the company filmed her lectures as a sample and sent them to the headquarters to compete with all other branches. May God grant her grace so that her lectures can win prizes and become a very beautiful resume for her, so that she can get a highlight in her resume. I don’t think this is our ability. What ability do we have? This is God’s grace. This is God’s favor.

Later, she also shared with me that all the teachers who had cooperated with her had a mutual evaluation by teammates. Her mutual evaluation by teammates was the highest score. I told this sister not to think that it was our ability. It was God who manifested His favor in us. Do you know why this is the case? One day, she started to come to our prayer meeting from 10:30 in the morning to the afternoon every Friday. There is a prayer meeting, she would come.

I thought we would have chores such as washing clothes, cleaning, buying things, and tidying up. We can do these things, but she took this time out to consecrate it. You honor God, and God will honor you. In the past years, I tell you, I have made up my mind. I am standing here as a pastor today, not because of anything else, but because I really want to be a pastor. I really want to serve my God, because serving my God is my life. He is not optional.

When I was working as Chief Information Officer (CIO), I thought I could have a reason to treat my work as God. But I treat serving God as my life, although I didn’t know how to build a church at first, but my motivation has never been wrong. I want to serve my God, because my God is the source of my life. I think such words need to be worthy of your consideration.

God Has Loving-Kindness, But Also Disciplines

He causes it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for kindness. (Job 37:13)

Elihu had a wonderful grace in his understanding of God, clearly describing both God's discipline and loving-kindness. It's not that God only disciplines and doesn't care about anything else, nor is it that God loves so much that He is indiscriminate. He has both discipline and loving-kindness. In any case, He wants people to gain life. Through both discipline and loving-kindness, He can always draw some people into His kingdom.

This is really worth our consideration. Some people say that God is love, loving to the point of being indiscriminate. Others say that God is strict, forgetting that God is a God of loving-kindness. So today, we must have a correct understanding of God. I think Elihu's words about his understanding of God are endorsed by God. That's why God does not rebuke Elihu. What he said is completely different in tone from the previous three friends.

Choose to Believe

Pay attention, Job, and listen to this; stop and consider God’s wonders. (Job 37:14)

God's wonders are beyond our knowledge. What is behind this unknowable aspect? It is actually faith because we cannot fully know, so we believe. When we believe, we simplify the complex mysteries of God all at once, because we choose to believe. When we choose to walk the path of faith, we are righteous. God considers you righteous. How wonderful!

Job always wanted to know what exactly happened. In fact, God never told him about His bet with Satan. Job never knew. And Elihu, can you know these things? These mysteries belong to the Lord. As for God's love towards us, we must also come forward by faith to receive God's loving-kindness, isn't it?

If we know that God is loving-kindness, that is enough. You can receive loving-kindness through faith. Isn't the testimony I just shared with you a testimony of God's loving-kindness? When I joined my first real job, I worked for a year. Do you know what happened that year? My English was terrible. I didn't know if my English could communicate correctly with others. Many times, communication was like talking to a brick wall. But at the end of the year, they selected me as the advanced worker, the best performance award of the entire company.

I tell you, when I went on stage, I stumbled over my words when I was asked to say a few words. I knew this was not my ability because God chose me and gave me such favor. Later, step by step, God raised me to the position of CIO. When I became the CIO, the people who won the award with me that day went on to become department leaders.

I think the more you want to know these phenomena, the better you take the ability to want to know these phenomena to know God. Knowing God is not difficult at all. What does the Bible say? If you want to seek to know God, the door will be opened to you when you knock, and you will find when you seek. Don't seek the knowledge of natural sciences, but seek the path of life. How clouds float in the sky, let them float in the sky.

But how I gain abundant life, that is what I seek. How I can know this God more. How to experience His miraculous deeds more. Then gain more power from His throne, and in this world, become a vessel to manifest His glory. And become a blessing to all nations and peoples on earth, that is what we should pursue. What we pursue is not a physical phenomenon or a chemical phenomenon. Of course, pursuing this is left to scientists to pursue. But we Christians, we must become people who manifest God's glorious vessels. This is what Elihu said.

He Does Not Regard Those Who Are Wise in Their Own Hearts

The Almighty is beyond our reach; he is exalted in power. In his justice and great righteousness, he does not oppress. (Job 37:23)

How well said! It's like the last sentence of the Book of Ecclesiastes. He does not regard those who are wise in their own hearts. Today, if you think you are great, you are the one God does not regard. If you feel that God is my God, this is the center of my life, I want to live a God-centered life.

I will fear Him all my life, so I will follow Him all my life. He is my way, my life, my everything. If you have such an idea, follow Elihu and say, the Almighty is beyond our reach, he is exalted in power. In his justice and great righteousness, he does not oppress, so people fear him. This is the key.

You must fear God, if you do not fear God, what are the things you pursue? What is the use of these things you tell me? Today I tell you, an idea in my heart, may offend some people, but this is the true thought in my heart. Because in the past few days of the Taipei course, Pastor Zhou and his wife stood on the stage and began to tell our 120 full-time church pastors and co-workers again that building a church is like flying an airplane, we are going to the kingdom of heaven, all come up. Those who are not going to the kingdom of heaven, go down quickly. Because when he wants to go down halfway. You don't know whether to go down or not. Understand?

So today I saw a news report that said there was a drunk man who showed love to a flight attendant. As a result, the plane could not fly to its destination and returned to make a forced landing. If there is a drunk man in the church with a bomb on his body and we say we are going to fly to the kingdom of heaven. He said if you want to fly, I will pull this rope. Then we will perish together.

Do you want such people to come up? You don't want it, and I don't want it either. All of us who have the same mission, maybe you don't know what the mission is, but you have a heart in your heart, you want to come and know God more, we will come and know God more with you. If you say you want to leave, I will never keep you. I will never keep anyone who wants to leave.

You agree with my words, everyone has the same agreement, we will continue to walk this road. It's not that the pastor has no love, if you are willing, I will definitely love you, I will definitely love you to the end. But if you're pursuing things of the world, go ahead. As for me and our brothers and sisters, we must serve the Lord, because serving God is our life! Amen!

Elihu Has Several Understandings of Job

Reject the Wrong Idea That God Attacks Me

First, in chapter 33, verse 8, Elihu said, Surely, I have heard what you said; I heard the very words. What did Job say? I am pure and without transgression; I am innocent, and there is no iniquity in me. Yet he finds occasions against me; he counts me as his enemy; he puts my feet in the stocks; he watches all my paths. (Job 33:8-11). I ask you, are Elihu's words what Job said? If some of us recognize God in this way. You have gone the less correct path of Job.

Although Job said this during this process, what did he say later? I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you. This is not the result of not knowing God. At this time, Job actually did not know God. Job still likes to ask why this and why that. He wants to know a lot of things. At this time, Elihu did not take what Job said to evaluate, Elihu took what Job said that was not quite right to say something, so that we can understand where Job's problem lies.

Whether we are clean and innocent, or we have no sin. But we cannot say that God is looking for opportunities to attack me. God is looking for opportunities to attack you, God is playing with you. Is it fun? I don’t think God would do such a thing. Attack us and play with us. Not fun at all. I think today we need to learn one thing. Learn what kind of thing? God will not attack us, nor will he use us as a target, nor will he use us as an enemy. Although we don’t know what happened behind some things that happened to us.

Like the example of the pastor I just mentioned. We don't know what happened behind the scenes. But thank God, God is still in control of that pastor, didn't it turn around? After a seven-year very hard journey. But what does it matter? So if we feel that we are clean and innocent and then nothing will happen, this is not the case. God wants you to know Him more. So today I share an example with you.

Someone said, Lord, give me a heart of patience, and then another pastor didn't know what you were asking for? Then he said what am I asking for? He said tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope. If you ask for endurance, there will inevitably be tribulation. We may not understand such things. God's work is too wonderful.

But we must never say that God you attack me, such an understanding is very problematic. You know if a person gets cancer, people will comfort the patient and say, thank God, all these things are allowed to happen by God, thank God, this is what God gave you. You know that the person who gets cancer will have the idea that God is attacking me after hearing this. Although we do not understand, even if we are in Job's situation now we do not understand. But in our hearts, whether to begin to reject a wrong idea, God attacks me.

God Is My Salvation

Let us discern for ourselves what is right; let us learn together what is good. (Job 34:4)

Second, in chapter 34, verse 5, do you think Job is right? I think the problems Elihu picks out are too insightful. He thought, I am righteous. So such things are allowed to happen to me. God takes away your justice. Is it going according to reason? It doesn't go according to reason. Even though I am right, I am considered a liar; even though I am innocent, my wound is incurable. Actually, I tell you, God is the God who heals us. If I haven't been healed yet, but I believe God will heal me.

So start to reject this wrong negative lie. Is he lying? Don't think that what you did in the past and then feel that you are righteous. You really can't talk about righteousness. When we know God later, if we think that God takes away my justice in Job's way, then he is not righteous. But he still thought he was righteous. Because of what? Because he felt that what he had done in the past was righteous. Although God did not pick on his reason. But that doesn't mean what Job said was right. But what Job said is actually problematic.

The problem Elihu picked out accurately pointed out Job's problem. Actually, Elihu didn't bring up other problems to say, then I think whether we can say the opposite today, God is my reason. God is my life. God is my truth. God is my way. Just affirm that God is my healing, God is my provider, God is my everything. God will never be deceitful, God will never do evil. God must be my salvation, forever, even though we experience some things.

But what does it matter? If this momentary light affliction can achieve an incomparable weight of glory. What's so great about it? With this attitude, despise all the difficulties we face. There's nothing great about it. Step on them all because God has prepared the best way for me! Amen! This is Job's second.

Do Not Be Rebellious Israelites

Job speaks without knowledge; his words lack insight. I wish Job were tested to the utmost because he answers like the wicked. To his sin he adds rebellion; among us he claps his hands in defiance and speaks so much against God. (Job 34:35-37)

I tell you if a person does not know God, he will say such things, instead of saying what Elihu said. Some of the things Job said were words of faith, we thank God; but some of them he was still entangled in some things. Today I encourage everyone, don't be like the wicked. Elihu said a word, I wish Job were tested to the utmost. This is true. If God tests you and me, sells us to Egypt as slaves, puts us in prison as prisoners, if we are like Job, Joseph will sit through the bottom of the prison forever and will never come out, and he will be tested to the utmost. Today you and I must learn to be victorious in God's tests.

The Israelites came out of Egypt, entered the wilderness, and crossed the Red Sea. As a result, they tempted God ten times and walked the path of unbelief. For example, there is no water in this place. If there is no water, complain, why is there no water, we might as well die in Egypt.

If you have a heart to die, what are you afraid of if there is no water? This person is very strange, and then Moses prayed to God, and God gave them water. Can you learn a lesson from giving them water? You should have learned a lesson. There can be water in this place, my God is too wonderful. What would you do next time you encounter no water? You would say that our three million Israelites pray together, our God will definitely give us water. And you also get water.

Three million Israelites, from big to small, complained there that we might as well die in Egypt. God gave them water again, but they still didn't learn a lesson. The third time there was no water again, and the water was bitter. They will never learn a lesson, they will never learn a lesson. As a result, God gave them this lesson of water three times and then judged them a paper, failed! Then give something else, also failed. In the end, they died in the wilderness.

Today, in God's trials, if God tests us, we must never answer God like the wicked would, then we will be tested to the utmost. What does it mean to be tested to the utmost? It means to die in the wilderness. Do you want to die in the wilderness or do you want to be victorious? It's so good to be victorious and enter the promised land. Do you understand? It's such a wonderful thing to gain a promise. If you don’t want it, I want it, I definitely want it. I think, no matter what kind of situation I encounter, I must be strong and courageous, and hold on to my faith. Never slight God, never speak evil words to God, and then add rebellion to sin, this is not a good person.

God Causes Those Who Love Him to Benefit

What profit is it to me? What do I gain by not sinning?(Job 35:3)

How does Job's fourth say it? He still doesn't understand how there can be no benefit in this victory. What profit is it to me? He likes to walk peacefully in the world. But I tell you, the way God has prepared for us. Is what a rich grace. Even if you encounter some trials and tests, what does it matter, they are all for our benefit. Look at what the Bible says, all things work together for good to those who love God.

But when it came to Job, it became what profit is it to me. If anything starts to thank God, this is my benefit. This is what God wants. Let all things work together for good, so that I can benefit. What good is it to me not to sin rather than to sin? Even the already sinful and unsinful are confused. Do you say you want life or not?

Do Not Speak False Words, Utter Words Without Knowledge

So Job opens his mouth with empty talk; without knowledge he multiplies words. (Job 35:16)

So Job opens his mouth with empty talk; without knowledge he multiplies words. If you study the Bible, don’t quote those false words as truth. If you don’t understand, don’t quote them. It’s better to quote what God said.

Open your mouth and say false words, and utter words without knowledge. If a person does not know God, he often speaks ignorant words. In serving brothers and sisters, I'm just embarrassed to say, but after listening to it, I can only say where is this word in the Bible. If this is not in the Bible, it is probably ignorance. Why do people have to walk this ignorant path? If you walk that ignorant path. Don't wake up yet, be obsessed and continue to run that ignorant road. May God have mercy.

Don't think that Job's opening his mouth with these false words is not a problem. It's just because God, let him experience such things, God is just merciful to him. In such a situation, saying false words, God also said forget it, I have suffered so much, just complain.

But do you and I recognize again, that Job, I think there is no more record of Job's story later, but God blessed Job doubly. If Job experiences the same thing again later, what would he do, it may not be a completely identical story, but he may experience another round of tests in his life.

But if he is someone who has heard of God, and now his eyes see God, I think Elihu's words, God's words, will be deeply imprinted in his mind. He no longer speaks false words, a person who does not know God is a very sad thing, this is the five aspects of Elihu's pointing out Job's problems.

Scripture:

Job 32:1 So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.
Job 32:2 Then was kindled the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram: against Job was his wrath kindled, because he justified himself rather than God.
Job 32:3 Also against his three friends was his wrath kindled, because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job.
Job 32:4 Now Elihu had waited till Job had spoken, because they were elder than he.
Job 32:5 When Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, then his wrath was kindled.
Job 32:6 And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said, I am young, and ye are very old; wherefore I was afraid, and durst not shew you mine opinion.
Job 32:7 I said, Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom.
Job 32:8 But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.
Job 32:9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.
Job 32:10 Therefore I said, Hearken to me; I also will shew mine opinion.
Job 32:11 Behold, I waited for your words; I gave ear to your reasonings, whilst ye searched out what to say.
Job 32:12 Yea, I attended unto you, and, behold, there was none of you that convinced Job, or that answered his words:
Job 32:13 Lest ye should say, We have found out wisdom: God thrusteth him down, not man.
Job 32:14 Now he hath not directed his words against me: neither will I answer him with your speeches.
Job 32:15 They were amazed, they answered no more: they left off speaking.
Job 32:16 When I had waited, (for they spake not, but stood still, and answered no more;)
Job 32:17 I said, I will answer also my part, I also will shew mine opinion.
Job 32:18 For I am full of matter, the spirit within me constraineth me.
Job 32:19 Behold, my belly is as wine which hath no vent; it is ready to burst like new bottles.
Job 32:20 I will speak, that I may be refreshed: I will open my lips and answer.
Job 32:21 Let me not, I pray you, accept any man's person, neither let me give flattering titles unto man.
Job 32:22 For I know not to give flattering titles; in so doing my maker would soon destroy me.
Job 33:1 Wherefore, Job, I pray thee, hear my speeches, and hearken to all my words.
Job 33:2 Behold, now I have opened my mouth, my tongue hath spoken in my mouth.
Job 33:3 My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly.
Job 만의 33:4 The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.
Job 33:5 If thou canst answer me, set thy words in order before me, stand up.
Job 33:6 Behold, I am according to thy wish in God's stead: I also am formed out of the clay.
Job 33:7 Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon thee.
Job 33:8 Surely thou hast spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of thy words, saying,
Job 33:9 I am clean without transgression, I am innocent; neither is there iniquity in me.
Job 33:10 Behold, he findeth occasions against me, he counteth me for his enemy,
Job 33:11 He putteth my feet in the stocks, he marketh all my paths.
Job 33:12 Behold, in this thou art not just: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.
Job 33:13 Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters.
Job 33:14 For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.
Job 33:15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;
Job 33:16 Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,
Job 33:17 That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.
Job 33:18 He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.
Job 33:19 He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong pain:
Job 33:20 So that his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty meat.
Job 33:21 His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones that were not seen stick out.
Job 33:22 Yea, his soul draweth near unto the grave, and his life to the destroyers.
Job 33:23 If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness:
Job 33:24 Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.
Job 33:25 His flesh shall be fresher than a child's: he shall return to the days of his youth:
Job 33:26 He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.
Job 33:27 He looketh upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not;
Job 33:28 He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.
Job 33:29 Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man,
Job 33:30 To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living.
Job 33:31 Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I will speak.
Job 33:32 If thou hast anything to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify thee.
Job 33:33 If not, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisdom.
Job 34:1 Furthermore Elihu answered and said,
Job 34:2 Hear my words, O ye wise men; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.
Job 34:3 For the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meat.
Job 34:4 Let us choose to us judgment: let us know among ourselves what is good.
Job 34:5 For Job hath said, I am righteous: and God hath taken away my judgment.
Job 34:6 Should I lie against my right? my wound is incurable without transgression.
Job 34:7 What man is like Job, who drinketh up scorning like water?
Job 34:8 Which goeth in company with the workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men.
Job 34:9 For he hath said, It profiteth a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.
Job 34:10 Therefore hearken unto me, ye men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity.
Job 34:11 For the work of a man shall he render unto him, and cause every man to find according to his ways.
Job 34:12 Yea, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment.
Job 34:13 Who hath given him a charge over the earth? or who hath disposed the whole world?
Job 34:14 If he set his heart upon man, if he gather unto himself his spirit and his breath;
Job 34:15 All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again unto dust.
Job 34:16 If now thou hast understanding, hear this: hearken to the voice of my words.
Job 34:17 Shall even he that hateth right govern? and wilt thou condemn him that is most just?
Job 34:18 Is it fit to say to a king, Thou art wicked? and to princes, Ye are ungodly?
Job 34:19 How much less to him that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich more than the poor? for they are all the work of his hands.
Job 34:20 In a moment shall they die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and pass away: and the mighty shall be taken away without hand.
Job 34:21 For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings.
Job 34:22 There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
Job 34:23 For he will not lay upon man more than right; that he should enter into judgment with God.
Job 34:24 He shall break in pieces mighty men without number, and set others in their stead.
Job 34:25 Therefore he knoweth their works, and he overturneth them in the night, so that they are destroyed.
Job 34:26 He striketh them as wicked men in the open sight of others;
Job 34:27 Because they turned back from him, and would not consider any of his ways:
Job 34:28 So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto him, and he heareth the cry of the afflicted.
Job 34:29 When he giveth quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hideth his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only:
Job 34:30 That the hypocrite reign not, lest the people be ensnared.
Job 34:31 Surely it is meet to be said unto God, I have borne chastisement, I will not offend any more:
Job 34:32 That which I see not teach thou me: if I have done iniquity, I will do no more.
Job 34:33 Should it be according to thy mind? he will recompense it, whether thou refuse, or whether thou choose; and not I: therefore speak what thou knowest.
Job 34:34 Let men of understanding tell me, and let a wise man hearken unto me.
Job 34:35 Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were without wisdom.
Job 34:36 My desire is that Job may be tried unto the end because of his answers for wicked men.
Job 34:37 For he addeth rebellion unto his sin, he clappeth his hands among us, and multiplieth his words against God.
Job 35:1 Elihu spake moreover, and said,
Job 35:2 Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God's?
Job 35:3 For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?
Job 35:4 I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.
Job 35:5 Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou.
Job 35:6 If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?
Job 35:7 If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?
Job 35:8 Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.
Job 35:9 By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.
Job 35:10 But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;
Job 35:11 Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?
Job 35:12 There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.
Job 35:13 Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.
Job 35:14 Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.
Job 35:15 But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity:
Job 35:16 Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge.
Job 36:1 Elihu also proceeded, and said,
Job 36:2 Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet to speak on God's behalf.
Job 36:3 I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.
Job 36:4 For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee.
Job 36:5 Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.
Job 36:6 He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor.
Job 36:7 He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted.
Job 36:8 And if they be bound in fetters, and be holden in cords of affliction;
Job 36:9 Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded.
Job 36:10 He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.
Job 36:11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
Job 36:12 But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.
Job 36:13 But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry not when he bindeth them.
Job 36:14 They die in youth, and their life is among the unclean.
Job 36:15 He delivereth the poor in his affliction, and openeth their ears in oppression.
Job 36:16 Even so would he have removed thee out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which should be set on thy table should be full of fatness.
Job 36:17 But thou hast fulfilled the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold on thee.
Job 36:18 Because there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with his stroke: then a great ransom cannot deliver thee.
Job 36:19 Will he esteem thy riches? no, not gold, nor all the forces of strength.
Job 36:20 Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place.
Job 36:21 Take heed, regard not iniquity: for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.
Job 36:22 Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?
Job 36:23 Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity?
Job 36:24 Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold.
Job 36:25 Every man may see it; man may behold it afar off.
Job 36:26 Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.
Job 36:27 For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof:
Job 36:28 Which the clouds do drop and distill upon man abundantly.
Job 36:29 Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle?
Job 36:30 Behold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea.
Job 36:31 For by them judgeth he the people; he giveth meat in abundance.
Job 36:32 With clouds he covereth the light; and commandeth it not to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixt.
Job 36:33 The noise thereof sheweth concerning it, the cattle also concerning the vapour.
Job 37:1 At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place.
Job 37:2 Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.
Job 37:3 He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.
Job 37:4 After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.
Job 37:5 God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.
Job 37:6 For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.
Job 37:7 He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.
Job 37:8 Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.
Job 37:9 Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.
Job 37:10 By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.
Job 37:11 Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:
Job 37:12 And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.
Job 37:13 He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.
Job 37:14 Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
Job 37:15 Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?
Job 37:16 Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?
Job 37:17 How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?
Job 37:18 Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?
Job 37:19 Teach us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.
Job 37:20 Shall it be told him that I speak? if a man speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.
Job 37:21 And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.
Job 37:22 Fair weather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty.
Job 37:23 Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.
Job 37:24 Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.
