Christians are very fond of asking for things. I have done a lot of experiments in seeking the Lord for healing and deliverance, and I found that they did not work. I am a person who is quite rigorous with the Bible, so I went back to the Bible to have a look. When I looked, I found this matter very interesting, coinciding with my experiments.
Asking God for healing doesn't work, asking God for money doesn't work either, and asking God for blessings also doesn't work. Asking for these things is very troubling. Some Christians seem to be very fervent, mobilizing many people to pray for their money and for their business. I am very surprised that I don’t see this at all in the Bible.
Later, I found out what things can be asked for and what things cannot be asked for. Asking for money seems useless. We must find a key thing, which is to ask according to the word of God. What does the word of God say? You must seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Originally, seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness is what we call Mingding Destiny.
If we seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness first, everything else will be added to us, and we don't need to pray for our money and business. I have seen some churches with prayer lists praying for business and houses, but the things they prayed for did not work because they did not have the foundation of God's word. We must be very clear in our understanding of what God's word says, and when we implement it, we will know very clearly that this is a command from God to us.
The myth of asking is very common among Christians. To what extent is it outrageous? It is to ask God about everything. A sister came to me. She got three jobs and didn't know which one to choose, hoping I could ask God for her. I told her that any choice is fine, just make a choice in faith.
Seeking the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness
The first ask mentioned in the Bible is to seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and everything else will be added to us. This is Mingding Destiny! The second ask is to ask for the Holy Spirit promised to us by the Father, to ask for the Holy Spirit to fill us. This ask is normal, and it has a biblical basis. Asking for other things doesn't seem quite right.
For example: Lord Jesus, please heal me! Father, please heal me! Asking you to heal me is like saying that God does not want to heal him. In fact, God has already done the work of healing. Jesus bore the stripes for our pain, and by His stripes we are healed. This has already been accomplished. Is it still necessary to ask God to heal us?
So in my experiment, I found that asking the Lord to heal is a disgrace to God Himself, and it is also ineffective. It is always felt that this matter needs to be asked of God for healing because they respect God's sovereignty, and God's sovereignty does not mean understanding God's will. We need to understand what God's will is when we do things. We must come out of the myth of asking, seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and ask God's Spirit to fill us.
Jesus said, If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” (Luke 11:8) Jesus told a very clear parable. Going to a friend's house to ask for a few loaves of bread, not because he is a friend who will give it to him directly, but because he asks importunately, he will surely give him what he needs. This is not asking for bread, but asking for the Holy Spirit.
Our way of asking must return to the foundation of the Bible, and you will surely receive it. As a result of my own practice, what I ask for is that the Lord Jesus can make my service more like Jesus. I think such asking is in accordance with God's heart. This is seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness. What we ask for is to become a blessing to all nations and peoples on earth. This is asking in accordance with God's heart.
God wants us to live prosperously, but if we ask for prosperity, we may not get it. But if we seek the kingdom of God and seek to obtain God's Mingding Destiny on us, we will surely live very prosperously.
Healing and Deliverance Do Not Require Asking God for Healing
Healing and deliverance do not require asking God to heal. Do not suggest asking God to grant a good doctor. There are no precedents for this in the Bible. If there are none, everyone must not act blindly. If you do, firstly, it will not work, and secondly, it will corrupt people. In the matter of asking, there must be a clear understanding. It is not about asking God to give me a good doctor; this kind of misconception is very common.
What does the Bible say? It is in the name of Jesus Christ that I command the spirit behind the disease to retreat and leave! When we have put enough effort into changing our thoughts and beliefs, and put enough effort into our faith in God, we command the pain to leave in the name of Jesus Christ, and it will truly leave.
In our prayers, in these matters of seeking God, we must have a clear understanding, and we cannot mess around. If you mess around, you will corrupt yourself, that is to say, we must begin to know one thing: what exactly does God's word say? We will act according to what God says. The New Testament Bible records God's will: to build God's glorious church, to establish God's church, which is to build the body of Jesus Christ. We will build God's glorious church together with God, and this is seeking God's kingdom and God's righteousness.
In healing and deliverance, we must know for sure that whether it is a financial turnaround or healing from sickness, it is all based on building God's victorious church. Building God's victorious church is the foundation of healing and deliverance, and the foundation of financial blessings.
Some Christians have a wrong perception during the process of being sick. They ask God to remove the thorn from their body, always thinking that Paul's thorn was a disease, and that it was God allowing Satan's attack. Everyone who serves God will encounter the attacks of the devil. God wants to save us from evil. We must re-examine our thoughts and beliefs and prayer habits.
I do not talk much about temptations. Paul's letters also rarely talk about this aspect of truth. I talk about the truth of victory. It is not asking God to give us faith, but we ourselves must choose to believe. The Lord Jesus said: If you can believe, all things are possible to those who believe. We must have a victorious faith in our thoughts and beliefs. Faith is our responsibility, not God's responsibility. We must choose to believe.
We often like to plead with God. In fact, God does not like passive faith. God likes people to exercise faith. These are the most important things in the Bible. This is not a concept of asking, but a concept of authority and power. We must come out of the misconception of asking, have a clear understanding in our minds, and rise up to fight!
It is not asking God to grant us the promised land, but rising up to fight and be victorious, and God will surely enable us to possess the promised land! We will greatly experience God's grace and experience God's miraculous deeds!
