You Must Speak in New Tongues
From 1900 onwards, God began to restore the filling of the Holy Spirit, breaking the limitations on praying in tongues. Initially, many considered this heresy because people lived in an era devoid of power; churches lacked power and saw it as normal, leading to traditional churches. From 1900 to the present, the Holy Spirit continues to restore wondrous works, the most remarkable being praying in tongues. Over a century, praying in tongues has become widespread in churches, yet many misconceptions persist, with some finding it chaotic. When our church began to restore the works of God, it began with praying in tongues.
Continuous praying in tongues has brought immense transformations to the lives of our brothers and sisters, with each person experiencing God’s miraculous grace, all starting from speaking in new tongues. For example, Sister YX fell severely ill while on a business trip in Shanghai, suffering from a high fever of 39 degrees Celsius. She felt disoriented, and neither medicine nor injections helped. She contacted me in the group, explaining her high fever and the doctor’s suspicion of lung cancer due to inflammation in her lungs. Sister YX trusts me deeply and followed my prayer, and what happened? Within an hour, all her symptoms completely disappeared – truly miraculous! She had been imitating my praying in tongues. After returning home, Sister YX knelt and prayed in tongues, but faced a dilemma: her family might think she had a problem. To this day, many of our brothers and sisters experience this invisible pressure, feeling suppressed and unable to find release.
However, returning to church feels like a relief, finally able to open one's voice and pray in tongues. The issue is not the volume, but whether our spirit feels suppressed. Sister YX prayed in tongues at home daily, and her son recorded her, thinking she was going mad. Yet after praying, there were no changes in her physical state; she was still normal, eating and sleeping as usual. Later, her son, after recording her, claimed it must be a cult, as the churches he had seen were not like that. Brothers and sisters sometimes find it difficult to experience God after encountering incorrect teachings. Sister YX, however, was greatly favored by God. When she encountered someone with shoulder pain, she laid hands on and prayed for them, and they were instantly healed – she was exceptionally powerful. We should not focus on external forms. Praying in tongues may be incomprehensible to both the speaker and listener, but it is indeed very effective, allowing people to experience truly miraculous grace. This is what I want to share with everyone today: speaking in new tongues.
The effects of speaking in new tongues far surpass praying with understanding. We can see a strange phenomenon in the church where many things mentioned in the Bible are happening. Why? Because today's praying in tongues is much less than what it was in the biblical church. Many in today's church prefer praying with understanding because they believe people can understand. But even if one does not understand praying in tongues, it does not matter. The important thing is that the effects of new brothers and sisters speaking in new tongues far surpass praying with understanding. Therefore, I say to every new brother and sister: I offer you grace, do you want it? If so, I will lead you to pray in tongues. Soon they will be praying in tongues and receiving grace. Every brother and sister receives grace through praying in tongues. However, those who are not blessed should return to the Bible, instead of getting caught up in right and wrong outside of it. The Bible clearly states Jesus Christ’s command: You must speak in new tongues!
The Will of New Tongues
“For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 14:2)
Why must we speak in tongues? We must return to the Bible and act according to its teachings. In the Book of Acts, Paul experienced being filled with the Holy Spirit through the laying on of hands. People in that era were simple, so how do we preach the gospel to them? Complex people are controlled by their rationality, making it difficult for them to receive grace. Thank God, praying in tongues transcends our rationality.
Let us pray together: Lord, this is the time to restore your wondrous works; continue to restore your wondrous works among us. Lead us in battle to trample all demonic enemies and bestow all kinds of spiritual gifts. Let us be full of your grace in spiritual gifts, understanding, and all kinds of graces. Speak to us today and lead us to see your wondrous works. In this generation, restore wondrous works and remove all disturbance from the powers of darkness. Grant grace today to clearly explain the will of speaking in new tongues through me, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
Speaking in Tongues is Jesus' Command
“Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.” (Acts 1:4)
“And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” (Mark 16:17)
Many have different opinions about speaking in new tongues. Have you heard similar claims? That the Lord Jesus never prayed in tongues. Many do not engage with these Christian circles. It is indeed said that Jesus did not pray in tongues, but how do you know? Actually, the Bible does not record it, does it? No one knows what Jesus prayed in tongues for during his long prayers, so we cannot judge whether the Lord Jesus prayed in tongues or not. We can only say that Jesus prayed for a long time. Later, I discovered that the Bible does not clearly record Jesus praying in tongues, but do not let such words create deeper confusion. Because Jesus did not pray in tongues, and Paul did not pray in tongues, so I do not pray in tongues – this seems like a convenient excuse. Do not be mistaken, praying in tongues was given after Jesus ascended to heaven. That is, before Jesus ascended, He said, “Do not go anywhere, but wait in Jerusalem for the Holy Spirit promised by the Father.” When Jesus gathered with them, He commanded: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.” (Acts 1:4). The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. If the Lord Jesus could not be crucified, the Holy Spirit could not be given. Without it, there would be no Holy Spirit in this world, and the Holy Spirit could not broadly work in us and descend upon us disciples.
Before ascending, Jesus spoke of an important matter, which Peter taught. Mark followed Peter everywhere, and Mark wrote Peter’s teachings into the Gospel of Mark. Some say Mark was the child of a wealthy family, that their place of prayer was the Upper Room, and that their home was large enough to accommodate one hundred and twenty people. This child had even discussed eternal life with Jesus. These are later speculations, but in any case, Mark’s Gospel is a very important gospel because it records many key points from Peter’s sermons. The first statement: “And these signs will accompany those who believe:.” It is very hard for people without miracles and wonders following them, especially if it happens to one’s family. With miracles and wonders, many things can be transformed, and the impossible becomes possible. That is, we can see that the gospel preached by Peter clearly records that speaking in new tongues is Jesus’ command.
The Gift of Praying in Tongues
I find it inconsistent with Jesus’ teachings for some to oppose speaking in tongues or discourage it because Jesus Himself told us that if you believe in Me, you must believe what I say. Some might say, “Oh, this passage or something was added by someone,” but no matter what they say, it is already in the Bible today. I do not think many in our generation can compare to those who were close to Peter, right? The leaders of the church in the third century AD decided to record those who were close to Peter in the Bible and include what they said. So, these people would be able to carry on Peter’s teachings more than we can two thousand years later, right?
Today, do not doubt what the Bible says. This is Jesus Christ’s command. If you believe and thirst for it, you will surely receive the gift of praying in tongues. Although we may not understand praying in tongues on the surface, it does not matter. Paul made it very clear in the Bible that whoever speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God. I will tell you a secret: if your prayers are often not answered, you are probably speaking to people. Which is more important, speaking to people or speaking to God? Of course, speaking to God is more important. I have met people who could pray for an hour without repeating a word, speaking eloquently, but upon closer inspection, few of their prayers are answered.
Praying in Tongues is the Command of the Lord Jesus
A student in Singapore listening attendeded my Bible study with his arm wrapped in a bandage. The theological seminary he attended did not focus much on praying in tongues. Although they believed in it, they did not emphasize the topic. One day, he came to my Bible study, and it happened to be about this topic. The Spirit of God was moving on the water, and I asked him what happened to his arm. He said his arm had been injured for some time, causing severe pain. At that moment, the Spirit of God led me to heal him. I asked him to hold out his hand so I could lay hands on him and pray. I think this was an unforgettable experience for him. He held out his hand, and I prayed for him for three minutes, and his arm was instantly healed. After healing, he put the bandage in his pocket. When he left my room, he took out the bandage and wrapped it on again. I asked him why he wrapped the bandage on. He said he was afraid it would hurt again after he went out. What kind of faith is this? There is a miraculous thing in this generation: why do they not think about it? What is the difference between this way of believing and my original way of believing? It is the same Bible, he reads it, and I read it. He likes to pray with understanding, and I like to pray in tongues. Everyone must know that the grace of praying in tongues has not yet been fully explored. There is still much more. Therefore, praying in tongues is the command of the Lord Jesus.
Speaking in new tongues is the initial manifestation of the Holy Spirit. Why am I arguing this with you? I am trying to reassure you that speaking in new tongues is the initial manifestation of being filled with the Holy Spirit, but there are many confusions. Why do I mention these things? Many people say that being filled with the Holy Spirit does not necessarily mean speaking in tongues, and speaking in tongues does not necessarily mean being filled with the Holy Spirit, so they are very confused. Are you confused when I say this? Very confused, not knowing whether to pray in tongues or not. But I want everyone to see that if the first experience of being filled with the Holy Spirit was in the Upper Room, the 120 disciples prayed for a week, and God still did not respond, but their enthusiasm did not diminish; they were like drunkards. According to the Bible, on the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit rushed down. After being filled with the Holy Spirit, what happened? These people began to speak in new tongues they did not know. Coincidentally, when these people were speaking in tongues, many people from Egypt and Syria said that this was my Egyptian language, this was my Syrian language, this was Arabic
It is strange how the Jews could speak these languages. Then this experience clearly clarified that if you want to investigate, I will tell you to examine the first-hand evidence. Do not be deceived by these words, so we must know what the first filling of the Holy Spirit was all about. They were praying in tongues, and then these people gained power. A few days later, when Peter passed by the entrance of the temple, he saw a lame man, and he pulled his hand, and he stood up. This person was lame from birth, and miracles were revealed. From then on, Peter was powerful, which is to say, it was from the filling with the Holy Spirit and praying in tongues that the process of building a glorious church began. Later, I will tell you that when I read this, I did not like to rely on logical thinking. Thinking back and forth, my head was in a mess. I thought that since people do this, then I will do this too. It is very simple, right? Today, Xiaomi phones are made through imitation. It is not entirely imitating others, but there are also its own innovations, but at the beginning, it was just imitating others. In this generation, you need to know how others do it, and you do it the same way. Learning this point is very powerful!
You don't need too much innovation; you just need to learn the essence of what others can do, and you will be very powerful. I guarantee you a salary of more than ten thousand, you don't necessarily have to be so innovative. So, we spend a lot of our time in life imitating how others do things. How others do it, we do it too, the more we do it, the more we look like it. For example, painting and playing the piano are actually the result of imitation. When I see someone writing, I find it very ugly, I really can't stand it. Why? Because he has never imitated it or his teacher wrote so badly on the blackboard. If the teacher wrote a good handwriting, the students below would imitate it, and they would write with a feeling, or you could copy according to the calligraphy. The first time praying in tongues appears in the Bible is in this way and effect, so do we still need to continue arguing about this? So, when we begin to explore the journey of praying in tongues, you begin to practice, and in the process of practicing, miracles and wonders will follow you, it is very miraculous.
Praying in Tongues is Key to Restoring God's Glory
“For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 14:2)
I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be edified. (1 Corinthians 14:5)
Paul discusses these key points: Paul says clearly that he hopes we all pray in tongues: I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be edified. (1 Corinthians 14:5) He emphasizes that everyone should do so, not just a few. Many find it strange, taking it out of context, saying, “Oh, someone has the gift of tongues, and someone doesn’t!” Because it is a gift, God gives it to each individual. But Paul, representing God, says that he hopes every one of us can speak in tongues.
Let's talk about the grace of speaking in tongues. Paul mentioned that he spoke in tongues more than all of them. When did Paul believe in the Lord? He believed in the Lord several years after Peter preached the gospel. When Peter was praying in tongues and performing miracles, Paul was persecuting Christians who spoke in tongues, arresting them into prison. As a result, one day, Jesus appeared to him, and he suddenly went blind. After being brought into the city, someone was moved by the Holy Spirit to let him go to where Paul was staying. When he went in, sure enough, there was Paul that the Holy Spirit spoke of. Paul was also very moved and prayed earnestly for his eyes that were blinded by the light of God. As a result, when this brother prayed for Paul, he was filled with the Holy Spirit, he began praying in tongues, and things like mud fell from his eyes, and he could see again. It was this experience that made Paul speak in tongues more than all of them.
However, later Paul didn't know where he went, but during the time he disappeared, I guessed he didn't do anything else, just prayed in tongues at home all day long, so he said that he prayed in tongues more than everyone else. Praying for a long time every time, so most people really can't compare. Years have passed and many are still afraid to approach this throne. A man named Barnabas came to encourage Paul, brought him to start building the church. This is the beginning of Paul's building the church. When he wrote 1 Corinthians, he recorded that he prayed in tongues especially much, and he hoped that every one of us would pray in tongues. Paul never disparaged praying in tongues; this is the Lord Jesus' command; Paul began to reiterate this matter. So why are they still troubled when they don’t disparage praying in tongues? Because Paul talked about two of his own experiences. In their gatherings at that time, there was no pastor leading them. Everyone prayed in tongues together, and someone would translate the tongues of others according to their feelings from the Holy Spirit: God is going to do wonderful things among us. But some people chattered on and on for half an hour. Paul said if no one translates the tongues, don't express your own thoughts because the newcomers can't understand what we are talking about, so Paul did not disparage praying in tongues, he said very clearly that we must pray in both tongues and understanding.
Raising praying in tongues to a very high level, speaking to God is the most important thing, so today many of us think no one understands praying in tongues in the Bible, but so what? Why in the history of the church did the glorious church become the dark church of the Middle Ages, and then it has been gradually restored until our time. So what exactly happened? There is a word called Enlightenment, the Chinese name is 启示, the Renaissance, the restoration of human rationality. When we focus on promoting human rationality and do not focus on irrational things like praying in tongues, when people reduce praying in tongues, it is also the process of the church losing power, and it is also the process of the church losing power from this supernatural gift of languages, which is why God began to restore glory in 1900.
Actually, the first thing God does is to restore praying in tongues. Every time praying in tongues is restored, miracles and wonders are manifested in abundance. This means that praying in tongues is not directed to people, but to God. If all the prayers in the church are directed to God, focusing on who speaks the most eloquent words, the result is the loss of spiritual gifts and spiritual power. Originally, a church filled with miracles and wonders could transform people's lives, but due to the loss of the gift of praying in tongues, it becomes a powerless church, constrained by rules and regulations.
Praying in Tongues Edifies
He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself (1 Corinthians 14:4)
What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding. (1 Corinthians 14:15)
I find it strange that some people feel they do not need to edify themselves. I yearn for something greater. This statement is peculiar, like learning calculus without first mastering one plus one equals two. Regarding the edification through speaking in tongues, everyone must know that edifying oneself comes first. Only after edifying oneself can one edify the church. Do not think that you can edify others without edifying yourself; it simply will not work. Speaking in tongues, although it edifies oneself, is very foundational. Why choose this topic? Because many people with different backgrounds are listening to some teachings in their local churches, so they want to know what the Bible says about it. I think this is what Paul meant, so we must obey Paul's teachings. If Paul said you do not need to speak in tongues, then we do not have to. But what did Paul say? What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding (1 Corinthians 14:15). Paul never said to choose one and reject the other. Remember, a key principle in the Bible is to accept the teachings of the entire Bible; that is where power lies. If you reject this and reject that, what will you become? Like an airplane without an engine. If you install the engine but not the navigation system, it still cannot fly. So everyone must know that a complete person can fly because of God's presence.
Benefits of Praying in Tongues
In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise (Ephesians 1:13)
The most important thing about praying in tongues is that God prays with us. But when the truth comes and enters us, it seems to have no effect, but in reality, it does have an effect. The effect, or lack thereof, is through the result of prayer. So Paul said, We do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. So it is God who prays with us, which is the most effective. If we pray with our own understanding, is God praying with us? Possibly, but possibly not; it is hard to say. For example, when we pray in tongues, if there is an inspiration that you speak out, that is the inspiration given to you by the Holy Spirit; that is God praying with you.
But if you pray at length with your understanding, it may not be effective. I have seen some churches where, after people get sick, they write their condition on a piece of paper, and their pastor picks it up and reads it, praying for healing from this and that disease. I want to say that maybe some are healed, but the proportion is far smaller than what the Bible says—that all who came seeking Jesus and the church were healed. I long for such things to be fulfilled among us. This is the effect of God praying with us. Some time ago, a child had eczema on his face, and after a month, it grew larger and more terrifying. Then I prayed for him, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. In the morning, his face was a chaotic mess; in the afternoon, it was clean and clear. Miracles and wonders were manifested just like that. Maybe you will say he applied some medicine, but I tell you, didn't you do those things yesterday as well? It still had no effect. But today, it was because he prayed with God that he was healed. How wonderful! Imitate Paul, pray in tongues more often; it does not matter.
What is the Benefit of Praying in Tongues?
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? (Romans 8:32)
Do not ask according to human desires, because human desires are not God's desires, and it is difficult to deal with our own lusts. Human logic does not like to change. We should pray in tongues because you do not understand praying according to God's will; it is a wonderful thing. We are not inclined to pray to God about things we do not like happening in our lives. But when you pray in tongues, if it can be interpreted, you will be surprised. If you are taught to pray in flowery language, you will not know how to pray. But if you pray in tongues, because you do not understand what it means, you pray: Mortify the lusts of my flesh; Holy Spirit, come and work, deal with it. Indeed, sometimes you will be unwilling to say such things, nor do you feel there is a problem, but because praying in tongues is from God and is according to God's will, not knowing what it means is a good thing. What you declare in your prayer is the word given to you by the Holy Spirit, and good things will be accomplished. So God will accomplish what you say in your mouth, because if you do not hide it in prayer, speaking all kinds of mysteries in the spirit, you probably would not say it.
Sometimes we encounter impossible situations. For example, a few years ago, a brother came to me, his sores were festering. It turned out it was caused by a quarrel with his girlfriend, who嫌弃嫌弃 him for his low salary and wanted to break up with him. Many times we dare not believe the future is extremely bright. Having a salary of only a little over a thousand yuan a month, it is difficult to believe that the future is bright. I said to this brother that the best grace I can give you is to lead you to be filled with the Holy Spirit and pray in tongues. Thank God, when praying in tongues, the words this brother declared were not understood by himself. Fortunately, he did not understand, otherwise he would have said it was impossible. If you told him, he would think I was talking nonsense, that his life was just like this. But the Spirit of God intercedes for us according to His good will. When you open your mouth to pray, praying in tongues will help you proclaim the fulfillment of a beautiful future.
God has a good will in our midst. We will definitely become a prosperous people in the future. God will surely bring about beautiful things. Although we do not know what praying in tongues is actually praying about, we must know that what God reveals is completely beyond what we can understand. Sometimes we cannot understand the Bible. He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? (Romans 8:32) But many people do not believe, which is the most tragic thing. However, praying in tongues that we do not understand, our mouths can declare good and wonderful things, and we can also edify ourselves. You will find that your faith is lifted up when you pray. When this brother left, his face was glowing. Soon his salary doubled. These wonderful experiences before the church began to turn around were inseparable from praying in tongues.
The Beginning of Other Spiritual Gifts!
Do you want to have the ability to lay hands on the sick and have them recover? Many people hope to have miracles and wonders accompanying them so that they can become a divine person from now on, no longer an ordinary person, like children playing Batman, draping a red cloth. Praying in tongues can make you a superman, even surpassing those supermen. Do not think this is just a small grace. You must know that this is a very important gift, the beginning of other spiritual gifts.
When I started praying in tongues more often, some brothers and sisters came to me, and the Holy Spirit worked on them. For example, a sister came to me who had suffered a lot of hurt. I said I had an inspiration from the Holy Spirit, and I don't know if it's right, but you have suffered a lot of hurt. As soon as I said that, her tears flowed down. God uses such words, with the coordination of various spiritual gifts, to edify us. May God bestow more spiritual gifts among us. This is exactly the same as the order recorded in the entire Bible. The first filling of the Holy Spirit is accompanied by praying in tongues, and then various spiritual gifts follow these disciples. Often, praying in tongues is a great grace.
God Will Transcend the Constraints of Our Reason
If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes (Mark 9:23)
God will transcend the constraints of our reason. Our reason is definitely not an advantage, because reason constrains us. Within the scope of reason, we cannot transcend human viewpoints. So God specially favors us, knowing our weaknesses, so He bestows praying in tongues, allowing us to speak all kinds of mysteries in the spirit. This is to transcend the constraints of our reason. When you often pray in tongues, your reason is no longer constrained, even in desperate situations. For example, when encountering problems that doctors cannot treat, you will know how to turn things around, because your reason has begun to break through; you are no longer living within reason. So you must transcend your reason and live in transcendence. Some people are still living under the constraints of reason, asking strange questions: You can heal people through prayer, so what is the point of having hospitals? Most people live under the constraints of reason and are still completely unaware, thinking it is all taken for granted. When they see what we do, they will say it is impossible, but it is not up to you whether you believe it or not, because it has already become a fact. I encourage everyone to pray in tongues more often to break through the constraints of our reason, otherwise it is easy to be deceived by the devil's lies, thereby losing faith.
If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes (Mark 9:23)
The more reasonable something is in reason, the less it belongs to God; the more unreasonable it is, the more it belongs to God. When you see Jesus Christ rise from the dead, what do you think? If you doubt, then it will be difficult for you to live a wonderful life. Many brothers and sisters who are just beginning to seek the Lord will feel confused, thinking that it is only natural for people to die. But we must transcend our reason. Praying in tongues has great benefits. For example, a few years ago I met a paralyzed person. I get very excited every time I encounter this situation, because God can manifest miracles and wonders through my hands. I said that if I pray for you, you will be able to stand up and walk; do you believe it? As a result, after praying for an hour, he was still unmoved, because he simply had no faith. But I was not discouraged and continued to pray for him for another hour. He was still unmoved, lying in bed in great pain. I prayed for him for another hour, and he was finally able to stand up and walk. I am especially grateful to my God. It is certainly quick for Jesus to heal people. It may take me a thousand or ten thousand prayers to heal him, but I feel that I am stronger than those who cannot heal people.
Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9:23)
From then on, every time I encounter impossible things, I look at the problem through the mindset of faith that God has given me. I encourage everyone to completely erase the words impossible from your mind. There is no such thing as impossible. Jesus said to him: If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes. (Mark 9:23) Some people will say that I have prayed, but it has no effect, then continue to pray until it has an effect. This is a simple thing. Why can't many people perform miracles? Because when they pray halfway, impossible from the devil enters their minds, and reason comes to constrain them.
How to Receive Praying in Tongues?
Seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Which of you fathers, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” (Luke 11:5-13)
“And He said to them, “Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves; for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; and he will answer from within and say, ‘Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you’? I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs. “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
Everyone should often look at this passage. Today we are in a chaotic age, there will be many confusing things not from the Bible that fill Christian teachings: Don't ask for the Holy Spirit! If you ask for the Holy Spirit, evil spirits will come! Is it really like that? During Jesus's time, Jesus knew that some people would talk nonsense like this, so He gave an example:
And He said to them, “Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves; for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; and he will answer from within and say, ‘Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you’? I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs. (Luke 11:5-8)
Jesus said that this person would not get up and give because he was a friend, but because his friend insisted urgently, he would give him what he needed, so won't the Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who believe in Him even more?
If you do not have the ability, it means you have not yet understood what you truly need. We still have many needs that are far from being satisfied, and we must continue to thirst for the Holy Spirit to greatly fill us. Regarding speaking in tongues, some people say that it may attract evil spirits
“Which of you fathers, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” (Luke 11:11-13)
After leading others to be filled with the Holy Spirit, praying in tongues, if this person still does not have praying in tongues, the devil will begin to manifest. In fact, when a person is filled with the Holy Spirit, the demons inside will manifest. The demons have long been secretly hidden inside people. Some people choose to escape when encountering unpredictable situations. As Christians, we should break through this obstacle and continue to seek to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Praying in tongues drives out demons. Driving out demons by the Spirit of God means the kingdom of God has come, and good things will be accomplished in you.
You must know that being filled with the Holy Spirit once is far from enough; rather, you must be constantly filled with the Holy Spirit. Some people will say that I was filled with the Holy Spirit several years ago, and I should be able to be filled today as well. This statement is like a crosstalk: The child said: Mom, I'm hungry. The mother said: Didn't I give you a meal last year? Do you see the problem? Many people have a misunderstanding, thinking only one filling of the Holy Spirit is needed. In fact, we need to be constantly irrigated by the Holy Spirit. Another view: I have been filled with the Holy Spirit, so I am saved. Being filled with the Holy Spirit once is far from enough; the process of winning battles throughout life is salvation. Some Christians like to gather together and chat: When were you saved? They discuss these issues, eventually corrupting each other. Being filled with the Holy Spirit for the first time means nothing; what is important is to be constantly filled with the Holy Spirit, praying in tongues, and completely mortifying the lusts of your flesh.
Being filled with the Holy Spirit, praying in tongues cannot replace your understanding prayer. Having only praying in tongues without understanding prayer is wrong. Paul's teaching is to have both praying in tongues and understanding prayer, because praying in tongues does not work in your understanding prayer; only understanding prayer can work on your understanding.
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints (Ephesians 6:18)
Conclusion:
I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all; (1 Corinthians 14:18)
I thank God, the important thing is we must pray in tongues extensively to receive grace from God. This is the will of the Lord Jesus. Amen!
