【Sermon】Slave's Heart, Son's Heart

2016-07-10 7,003 Sermon

  1. Today's Topic: The Heart of a Slave, the Heart of a Son
1:1 The effect of a lifetime flows from the heart.
1:2 The thoughts and intentions of the heart are important.
1:3 The nature of a slave must be removed, and then there is the image of a child of God.

  2. Scripture
For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. (Romans 8:15-17)

  3. Prayer

  4. Believe and Receive
4:1 He also who had received the one talent came forward, saying, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter seed, so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here you have what is yours.’ Matthew 25:24-25
4:2 Believe that you will live out God's glory, and you will surely receive it.
4:3 Restore the heart of a child of God.

  5. Those Who Love God and Those Who Hate God
5:1 Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations, and repays to their face those who hate him, by destroying them. He will not be slack with one who hates him. He will repay him to his face. Deuteronomy 7:9-10
    5:2 God also curses people.
5:3 God will bring those who love Him into the promised land.

  6. Those Who Receive the Promise and Those Who Do Not
6:1 Those with the heart of a slave do not receive the promise.
6:2 Those who do not value themselves as a portion do not receive the promise.

  7. Hagar's Slave Mentality
7:1 Hagar was Sarah's maidservant, and because Sarah could not conceive for many years, she made Hagar a concubine. When Hagar became pregnant, she was driven out. In this predicament, God appeared to Hagar. However, Hagar reverted to her slave nature.
7:2 The mentality of a son will make one a master in the house of God.

  8. The Israelites Who Died in the Wilderness Had a Slave Mentality

  9. Abraham and Isaac's Son Mentality
9:1 They believed God, even though God tested them by asking Abraham to sacrifice Isaac.
9:2 The heart of a son is to believe completely.

  10. Those Who Can Be Disciplined and Those Who Cannot, Those Who Can Be Required of and Those Who Cannot
10:1 Our growth requires being asked of and disciplined.
10:1 A son can be asked of and disciplined, but a servant cannot.

  11. Be a Child in God's House, Not a Slave!
Be a son in God's house who can inherit the inheritance.

  12. Conclusion: The Key to Healing and Deliverance is the Heart of a Son
12:1 God has already given us the status of a child of God.
12:3 In healing and deliverance, constantly transmit the mentality of being a child of God.
