1. Introduction
Today, we examine an important topic: Faith as the Foundation. This is why the Lord Jesus often criticized people for their unbelief. Our Lord Jesus seldom criticized a lack of charity or hope, but we clearly see that unbelief was something Jesus frequently critiqued. Recently, I had an experience reflecting on learning. Since I excelled in my studies from a young age—and I'm not boasting—I never understood why some people struggled. I just didn't get it. Recently, I heard a story about an experiment where children were divided into two groups and asked to memorize numbers. After some time, they were brought back. It was discovered that those who could remember the numbers had confidence; they believed they could remember while trying to memorize. Those who couldn't remember didn't believe they could remember while trying to memorize. Why did the Lord Jesus often criticize unbelief? Because faith is foundational.
During our recent renovation, we observed different people's reactions to the process. Some would try things, but they didn't believe they could do it well, and you'd find that the work they did was indeed subpar. Others started believing they would do well, and in the end, their work was impressive. We realized that faith is a fundamental thing. In everything we do, we must recognize the importance of faith among us. During the renovation, a brother was drilling holes to install something and drilled a hole too large. When I inspected it, it could hang even without tightening the screw. I called him over and asked, Do you know you drilled the hole too large? He said, Yes, I know. Then why didn't you fix it? I don't know how. Couldn't you drill another hole next to it and patch it up?
In my past ministry, I often encountered people who would frequently say, I don't know. These people often played dumb. Later, I realized that I don't know is a very spiritual thing. If you carefully examine your life habits, you'll find that you do well in things you believe you can do well in. If you don't believe you can do well, you will not know how. Today, we need to return to faith. The testimony we heard today was very interesting. This young person left her home church to work in the city. The words spoken by her home church leader were striking. She often listened to my sermons online, and she felt very edified by our sharing, which often focused on faith. Today, we can see that faith can edify a person. Our Lord Jesus often used interesting language, mostly revolving around faith.
2. Scripture
Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” (Matthew 17:19-21 NKJV)
3. Prayer
Lord Jesus, in this generation, we ask you to do marvelous things in us. Lord Jesus, manifest your power and glory through what we do, through our faith. You tell us that nothing is impossible for us. We trust in you in all things, and we can overcome in all things. This is your promise. We share your victorious words, and your words enter our hearts. We can do all things because of you. In these days of spiritual warfare, we will trample them under our feet. We choose to believe, to believe that in this generation, we will manifest your glory. According to the words of faith, the way of life, we pass on your faith, in the name of the Lord Jesus, Amen!
4. Scriptural Background
The background of this passage is a very interesting event where Jesus went up the mountain and suddenly His glory was revealed. Peter and John followed Jesus, and they saw the Lord Jesus speaking with Moses and Elijah. The mountain was radiant with glory, which was amazing, and Peter started speaking, saying, “Lord, it is good for us to be here; if you wish, I will make three tabernacles here, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” When they came down from the mountain, they saw many people, including a patient with epilepsy, imploring Jesus to heal him. Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out; and the child was cured. Then the disciples asked Jesus why they could not cast it out.
Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.” (Matthew 17:17 NKJV)
Jesus said that it was because of their little faith.
So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. (Matthew 17:20 NKJV)
This revolves around the matter of casting out demons. Jesus criticized them for their unbelief. Faith like a mustard seed can grow.
5. Jesus' Argument
Start discerning what kind of faith Jesus requires: faith to solve problems, faith to move a mountain from one place to another. The faith Jesus wants is the kind that casts out demons and does things with confidence. Nothing will be impossible for you because people are faithless and perverse, filled with human doctrines.
But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26 NKJV)
The root of the problem is belief and unbelief. Faith draws upon God's power, needing no permission from Jesus.
When facing difficulties, we need Jesus' power. Difficulties are always smaller than God. What matters is not the external things but the God behind them. Those who can believe in solving problems can overcome. Come out from the evil heart of unbelief.
6. Faith is a Spiritual Matter
The demons know wheter you have faith or not. Unbelief can attract demons and faith can cast them out. Lately, when I casting out a demon from a sister, the demons spoke to me, it was very afraid of me and hated me very much; with me, nothing is impossible. Difficulties are like springs, with faith, the spring compressed if you dont have faith is is just a spring.
Every real estate entrepreneur who develops an entire floor or a building has overcome difficulties it bite nails and persist, he must persist until victory even if he does not eat or drink not unbelieving , believe you can overcome, when our faith is dying, we must know that the Lord Jesus is our helper, for in human terms this impossible, but with God all things are possible.
A few days ago, I visited my former boss, who is a very devout Christian. My boss told me that I solved a lot of problems. I often encountered very difficult problems. I resolved issues that people never had before those facing these problems don't know how to approach them. Back in the nineties, I used to put that very heavy desktop computer in a bag, carry it home, and then carry it on the bus to work the next day. Deliberating on seemingly unsolvable problems, going from not knowing to knowing, from knowing a little to knowing more, and then solving the problem and it a victory of faith comparing.
When i got the boss' home, i shared our these this with boss. We don't like to talk big things, and this boss wife said she agree with me, some with don'y agree. She asked me, if you pray, what about bad things, not healed cases, yes surely, that is the time of death.
You don’t believe in me, you believe in Jesus, so today we shouldn’t use this explanation to prove Jesus' way, and don’t use my experience to prove your unbelief. Today, we can tell you very clearly that everyone who comes to us for prayer has been healed.
There is a very famous pastor abroad who gave a preach in China and he asked a question? If Jesus doesn't heal you, will you still believe? Where did I meet my former boss? It was at the funeral of a pastor's wife who had cancer for five years. So there is a reason for everything today. If we get cancer today, don't pity me, because I deserve it! Of course, we are very sure that we will not get cancer. You know, if God doesn't heal you, will you still believe? The Bible never says that, if we don't believe, will you still believe? I think this is very ridiculous, those who believe can do all things, and there is nothing that those who believe cannot do.
Today you must imitate me. I have a good habit in me . I often encounter bad situation, or When facing any difficulties, I grit my teeth and say to myself: Small sample, I can get over get over that! Because I look it is so small, I believe that I will be able to solve this problem, and God will surely let me overcome, and God will surely let me gain. I survived in poor and uncomfortable situations in the past. Many of the dreams I had in the past have come true today, because I am a person of faith.
We want to minister to those who speak English, Korean, and Cantonese. Our gospel must spread all over the world, because we are the dreamers. We desire to do such things, and we are willing to dream such dreams. We desire to restore the dreams of the kingdom of God and become a blessing to all nations.
Joseph was the eleventh child and used a bowl of red bean soup to deceive the birthright of the firstborn, because Joseph had a desire and a dream in him, so he became the family’s savior and the prime minister of Egypt. Don't look at what it looks like, look at belief and unbelief, strike all the lies that are not in line with the Bible. We are building a living faith. Every time we face a big mountain, it seems like a hard ghost get read with; it doesn’t matter, We will get read of Ghost even if we don’t eat or drink. this is our faith.
7. True Faith is the Faith That Enables Us to Achieve
Everything is a contest of faith. When your faith is lifted up, you will see difficulties as mere pebbles. Previously, there was a brother who sought my ministry because his business was stuck. I led him in prayer, and in the vision during prayer, I saw him pushing a large mountain like an ant. I said, Slowly restore your faith, and continued to lead him in prayer, gradually making the mountain smaller until it became a small stone under his feet.
Sometimes, the problem isn't as big as it seems, but many people perceive it as difficult. If you think it's a large mountain, it becomes a large mountain. If you think it's a small stone, it becomes a small stone. Everyone should cultivate the habit of learning in life and developing a habit of overcoming. When I was in junior high, there was a geometry problem I couldn't solve for a month, but I finally did. If I had given up then, I might not have solved the problem. Now, I am determined to overcome any problems I encounter.
A few days ago, while doing renovations, I encountered many different issues. It was indeed challenging, but we started solving them one by one, gradually resolving each one. Solving problems truly requires faith and critical thinking. True faith is the faith that persists until things are accomplished. Everything is a contest of faith, and the outcome depends on what you believe in your heart.
No matter what kind of problem you encounter, you can solve it through faith. Your faith will save you, and your unbelief will ruin you. As long as you have unwavering faith, nothing is impossible.
8. With Firm Faith, Nothing is Impossible
God is the God who gives us victory. No matter what problems we face, God will always lead those who have faith to overcome. In Him who believes, all things are possible. Start to be strong, ignite the fire of faith, and make the impossible possible.
Believe that our God is the one who helps us, our God is the almighty God, and nothing is too difficult for God. No matter what we feel inside, we must press on; we must pursue God. I saw a notebook that has been kept until now, from 2014 to 2015, then to 2016, and so on until now. Looking back, I see those years.
Many years ago, we started writing books and were ridiculed by many, facing many obstacles. But until today, we have written more than thirty books. Now, many people who used to criticize us are sending us messages to buy our books. We encountered difficulties in our renovation projects, but we overcame them. We also encountered problems in our software development, but we are still doing well now. The truth in the Bible is being restored, and in Him who believes, all things are possible. We believe whatever God says.
When we started building our church, we were very weak. My notes record my weaknesses and hardships at that time. We also encountered many difficulties in casting out demons. Later, writing books, doing renovations, and developing software were all very difficult. But I believe nothing can stop us. Our software development must reach the level of Alibaba and Tencent. Our renovations must be professional, and we must write God's words clearly in our books. These all seem impossible, but faith supports us to start doing them, and we are doing well.
The religious reformation we are about to undertake also seems impossible, but we believe in God's words. We will do as God says. In the Christian faith, we must remove the elements of unbelief. Whatever unbelief is packaged as, it must be completely removed, because faith is the foundation. Today, become a person of faith; in Him who believes, all things are possible.
Faith is the foundation of life, and the righteous shall live by faith. If the righteous need faith to live, how much more do we? Begin to know that you are a treasure in God's kingdom, a mighty and capable elite soldier in God's kingdom, and become a blessing to all nations.
We have many original works in this generation, not because of our originality, but because the Bible says it, but many people do not believe it. So we put God's words in the Bible into practice. God wants to work with people, and we must participate in God's great plan until we see God's good plan fulfilled.
Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Here I am, send me. In this world, there are billions of Chinese speakers, billions of English speakers, and also Korean and Japanese speakers. No matter what language they speak, we long to bless them. Today, our worship includes a Cantonese song, led by a brother who does not speak Cantonese, and that is faith (later, a brother who speaks Cantonese said that he sang very well).
May God bless everyone!
