【Sermon】The Wealthy Heavenly Father

2018-12-30 8,676 Sermon

Man is born with a dream of wealth in his bones

Now, let us delve into my favourite topic. Some may remark, Why do you always speak of your favourite subject? Today, I shall discuss our wealthy Father. When I first embraced the Lord, I was impoverished. I told God, I will surely worship You. If You are in control of all things, a mere flick of Your finger would alleviate my miserable existence. I relish the prospect of a prosperous life, and there must be a way. Our Father is exceedingly affluent, so much so that by simply trusting in Him, you will find Him providing your needs, not merely as sustenance, but as your provider.

In my childhood, I was fond of the tale of the Cornucopia, where one could simply reach in and grasp whatever one desired. Later, I discovered the book One Thousand and One Nights, which contained the tale of Ali Baba and the phrase Open Sesame! Within, there lay a treasure trove. Alas, as the door closed, I could not recall whether it was sesame or mung bean that opened it. The notion of treasure subsequently became an obsession for all. Later, the advent of Taobao saw some unearthing treasures, while others simply unearthed expenses.

Thus, we must understand that from our youth, we have been privy to stories of cornucopias and Open Sesame! There is something ingrained in the human psyche, a desire to uncover treasure. Before embracing the Lord, I began my exploration, ultimately discovering a treasure. I became ecstatic, sharing this treasure with everyone I encountered. I became adept at spreading the gospel, later realizing that many figures in the Bible were wealthy.

I found myself at odds with traditional churches, as I conveyed a gospel of affluence. Lest you mistake me for espousing a theology of success, or a theology of failure, I speak in accordance with the words of the Bible. The matters the Bible addresses must be clear. Despite my aptitude for mathematics and science, my understanding of the Bible is not lacking. After studying it, I realised that Abraham was wealthy, as were Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, and David. It became clear that those who pleased God were affluent. This aligns perfectly with the scriptures. According to statistics, our God is a wealthy God, and those who trust in Him and revere His name shall lack no good thing.

The cornucopia I had yearned for since childhood, I had finally discovered. It is the God of the Bible, from whom all things originate. David offered tonnes of gold, not merely pounds, unlike some who flaunt gold chains on their fingers and necks. David offered tonnes of gold because he understood that all things come from the Lord, and all should be offered to the Lord. When the subject of offering arises, do not be alarmed. If you do not perceive our God as a wealthy God, who enriches us, I do not desire your offering. Some are ignorant of the significance of offering. If you understand that all things originate from the Lord, you will offer willingly.

From the very first day I embraced the Lord, I offered. An elderly man, who was teaching me, spoke to me of offering. At the time, my monthly salary was one thousand yuan. After deducting expenses for food and lodging, I was left with merely 100 yuan a month. Offering it felt like tearing out a piece of my heart. But my God clarified to me: I know the Father, and I must learn to offer. I tested God, and this single test propelled me onto a path of cornucopia, discovering the treasure of Open Sesame!

Poverty of life is caused by poverty of heart. Man does not know that all things come from the Lord, and madly snatching at dollars as a result, but what can be gained by snatching at dollars? Later, I discovered that the rate at which man spends money surpasses the rate at which he earns it. There is a Singaporean saying: Better to lack everything else than to lack money and better to have everything else than to have illness. The problem lies in the fact that your words mean nothing. Regardless of your power, illness can defeat all. Earning money comes in small increments, but spending in the intensive care unit of a hospital occurs in increments of ten thousand. How can you keep up?

Another tale involves a man hailing a taxi, carrying a suitcase full of money. The driver inquired, Where are you headed? He replied, I wish to go to the most expensive place in the city. It turned out to be a hospital. That is the most expensive place, and they charge what you cannot afford, caring little about your illness, only about your money. If we were high-ranking officials in a hospital, whether at board meetings or high-level management meetings, we would be discussing performance, because the enterprise is for profit, not for curing illness.

As such, do you truly know God? If you truly know our wealthy Father, what disposition will you possess? Do not have the disposition of leaving a tip, but that of tearing out a piece of your heart. That is the feeling upon offering. I never leave tips, but I offer fully each month, because I am well aware that our God creates from nothing, our God is a wealthy Father, my Father is a wealthy Father; what shall I lack? Becoming wealthy is remarkably easy. Recently, there have been many testimonies of individuals transforming from poverty to wealth, even if slightly, from being broke to becoming affluent each month. I long for our brothers and sisters to know that we have a wealthy Father, in whose kingdom there is no poverty, no illness.

Scripture

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? (Romans 8:32)

Prayer

Abba Father, I know that You are a wealthy Father. We come before You, offering what comes from You, honouring You with our earnings. Lord Jesus, may You open the windows of heaven, pouring out blessings upon us to the point of overflowing. Lord Jesus, behold among us many brothers and sisters who are indebted, impoverished, harassed by debt collectors. Today, transform the impoverished, remove the disposition of slaves. We have a wealthy Father. We shall know You more profoundly, experience You more abundantly. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen!

Mortifying the deeds of the body through the Holy Spirit

Speaking so much of the cornucopia, lest you think I am deceiving you, Romans chapter 8 is a difficult chapter to grasp. Some say, Where is this the case? Why is it not? Look, I have not experienced what you speak of. Do not deceive me. I cannot bear it. I have been deceived by pyramid schemes again and again. I am immune I feel uncomfortable upon hearing these words. You owe so much money. Do you not wish to transform it? To transform it, listen to me. I am not deceiving you.

This passage is excerpted from Romans chapter 8. Why do many not experience God? Because of ignorance. Can anything be done well with ignorance? If you do not know how to make an airplane, can the airplane you produce fly? If you do not know how to make a car, can the car you produce run? If you do not know how to live, what kind of life can you lead?

You must be on the right track. Do not interpret with a myopic view, because chapter 8 is written from chapter 1 onwards. Prior to that, there is Genesis to Revelation. How much of this Bible have you actually read? To grasp Romans chapter 8, you must comprehend the laws that govern man. We must approach matters with the attitude of an engineer. Some fail their driving tests. Upon stepping on the accelerator, the engine stalls, and they crash into a tree. That is nonsense. If you do not usually drive, can you park successfully? I took a sister driving, and she drove erratically. Fortunately, the yard was large enough. This sister parked horizontally, while the parking space was vertical. Her car was parked perpendicularly to people's. I was angered. Can you figure it out by wreaking havoc?

As for the matter of being blessed, our Father is a wealthy Father. This is true. You are His son, not a child on the streets. This scripture is excerpted from Romans chapter 8. This chapter is remarkably well-written, encapsulating many essential concepts for our lives. It is challenging to read Paul's epistles, because Paul was a master. We must read them carefully. The initial matter in Romans chapter 8 is mortifying the evil deeds of the body; otherwise, you have no means to draw upon the Father's wealth. To be concerned with the flesh is death. To be concerned with the flesh is to be at enmity with God. Being at enmity with God and waging war against God, you should not speak of receiving God's grace. You can only receive God's wrath. You must therefore rely on the Holy Spirit to mortify the evil deeds of the body.

Secondly, you must not embrace the disposition of a slave. How can one with the disposition of a slave draw upon God's wealth? You are a servant, and a servant possesses the disposition of a servant, whereas a son possesses the image of a son. Therefore, firstly, mortify the evil deeds of the body. Secondly, embrace the heart of God's son. You must know that you are God's son. Thus, we cry out, Abba, Father!

Thirdly, we have God's aid. In our weakness, we have God's aid. The Holy Spirit intercedes for us. This is incredible. As long as we believe that we are God's children, approaching God with the identity of God's children, God will aid us, continually transforming us from the image of a slave into the image of God's son. Since you possess the image of a son, you must grow into adulthood. Only upon reaching adulthood can you draw upon all that God possesses.

Mortifying the deeds of the body through the Holy Spirit

Firstly, relying on the Spirit to kill the deeds of the body, people ah, the body has a problem in the flesh; According to the flesh and live very trouble. Today xx sister's testimony is a testimony from childhood, contrary, self-righteous, wayward, the results attracted a lot of ghosts, she is very uncomfortable, uncomfortable for a long time, can not sick. To obtain a malignant disease is to pay. Not to say take God's grace, you are to become the enemy of God, so brothers and sisters do not be self-righteous. Affection for those who are very evil things.

Mindedness on the flesh causes corruption. Some time ago, a couple brought their children to me, they were very considerate of the flesh of the children. When the child was angry with her mother, her eyes wide open, very evil, the mother of the child will not discipline the child, today many of our education is tender education of the flesh, and now the children are difficult to manage, and we used to study was corporal punishment, and now corporal punishment, and now corporal punishment is a very serious thing, and you have to be according to that procedure.

A pastor friend of mine got cancer, he was very considerate of the flesh of the brothers and sisters of the church, such as 9:00 gatherings, some people 9:50 stroll to come, he did not dare to control the brothers and sisters ah! If you are mindful of the flesh, you have to pay for it, so we developed a series of tools to deal with the flesh, and later I found that when people are healing and releasing them, they have to release to pain in order to release, because this thing has something to do with dealing with the flesh.

I have now found some theoretical basis, you deal with the flesh, people will release, so, minding the flesh is not the way, so you want to put to death the flesh, this has to be by the Holy Spirit, by the Holy Spirit, to deal with our inside self-righteous, wayward mentality. The Holy Spirit in us, and we self-righteous, mindful of the flesh we will be uncomfortable, when the Holy Spirit in us, we will find that partial way, in accordance with the flesh when the Holy Spirit will make our flesh uncomfortable, uncomfortable time, we do not want to be uncomfortable, we will come back from being mindful of the flesh minding the Holy Spirit. That's God helping us. Unbelievers, he is comfortable with the flesh what it feels like, until one day there is cancer there is a feeling, it is troublesome.

And the brothers and sisters to know, our God is so good ah! We continue to pray in the spirit, you will find that our God is so great! When we are still mindful of the flesh, the Holy Spirit began to deal with our flesh, how to deal with it, it is uncomfortable, uncomfortable to rise up to fight, is the Holy Spirit and our flesh fighting, the Holy Spirit and the flesh fighting, our life is no longer a life mindful of the flesh, we do not dare to mind the flesh!

Today, our parents are mindful of the bodies of their children, and you have to know that being mindful of the flesh harms yourself and your children. So if we want to take the Father's wealth, kill the evil deeds of your flesh, if you are a student, deal with your flesh, if you are a professional, deal with your flesh, if you are a housewife, also deal with your flesh, and I found that some housewives, the children are in school, and they do some housework to start the ink trace, and then take a nap in the afternoon, and the day is over, and if you do this, you will not live well, and anyone who is mindful of the flesh has no way to take the Father's wealth, although our Father is very wealthy, but you have no way to seize, this is a very fatal thing.

Casting Off the Slave Mentality

Cast off the slave mentality; it is utterly wicked. A slave mentality makes one a mere servant, and a servant's relationship with God is not that of a son. As sons, even when my Heavenly Father disciplines me and deals with my flesh, I am grateful to Him. But a servant will perceive his master as harsh and punitive. Whether it is discipline or punishment, you must receive it with the heart of a son. Having a wealthy Heavenly Father is one thing, but without the heart of a son, you cannot please God. You must step out of the slave mentality.

The heart of a slave and the heart of a son are different. The Bible tells a story about an elder son and a younger son. The elder son was obedient and hardworking. The younger son asked his father for his share of the inheritance, took the money, and left home to indulge in foolishness—gambling, eating, drinking, and traveling. Eventually, this younger son ended up working for someone else. He was so hungry that he ate pods from the pig's food trough. As he ate, he thought, What am I doing? I have a wealthy father! Why am I eating with pigs? So he decided to return home and work for his father.

When his father saw him returning, he put the most valuable ring on his finger, dressed him in the finest robe, and slaughtered the best calf for a feast. The younger son said, Father, I am not worthy. Just let me work for you as one of your hired servants. The slave mentality is rooted in fear and punishment, while the son's mentality embraces discipline. Establishing a son's relationship with God is crucial.

Our understanding of God from the Bible is limited by our existing perception of Him. Your comprehension from the Bible cannot exceed your understanding of God. A master gave three servants talents: one was given one thousand, another two thousand, and the third five thousand. The one who received one thousand had a flawed perception of his master, viewing him as harsh. He thought, When he returns, I must return this money to him. So he buried the one thousand talents and dug it up to return to the master. This slave was rebuked as wicked. He said, God, I know you are a stingy God, very miserly. Now I return the one thousand talents to you, untouched.

We call him a wicked servant because one thousand talents twenty years ago are not the same as one thousand talents today. Twenty years ago, one thousand talents could buy something significant; today, it is worth much less due to inflation! It is important to understand that inflation and economic principles have existed throughout history. I encourage everyone to have a full understanding of money.

This servant had a false perception of God, so God took away the one thousand talents and gave it to the one who had ten thousand. Why do people remain poor? Because they have a poverty mindset. It is devastating when someone cannot draw on God's blessings and the Heavenly Father's wealth. Poverty and illness are flaws, and they are serious flaws.

Our God reveals the secrets of the heart. If you are poor inside, it will manifest outwardly. If you are poor outwardly, you are certainly poor inside. We must diligently deal with ourselves inwardly. How you perceive God determines what you receive from Him. For example, the servants who received two thousand and five thousand were praised by their master: Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master. Do we truly believe:

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? (Romans 8:32)

You must be a son of God to receive this! Thus, a Christian's journey of faith is essentially a transformation from a slave mentality to a son's mentality. Believers may start with a slave mentality, but each time you listen to my teachings, you should be transformed into a son's mentality. We must understand that we receive the heart of a son from God, and we must be fully aware of God's will. A son's heart knows the Father's intentions clearly. Without clarity on the Father's will, you cannot receive the Father's wealth.

Therefore, I have great sympathy for those among us who are poor and in debt because you are poor inside. We must emulate His Son, Jesus, and continually transform ourselves into His image. Jesus was powerful; He offered Himself completely, with no poverty mindset whatsoever. I have a touch of jianghu (a spirit of generosity and selflessness), freely giving away, which reflects the image of Jesus Christ. To become a son of God, you must understand what it means to give.

Loving God is intriguing. For example, a couple in love believes, Since I love you, you must love me. Your money is my money, and my money is yours. There is a significant misunderstanding of love here. Loving God means offering yourself completely, giving love away. Our thoughts and intentions must align with God, like Jesus, who offered Himself entirely, eradicating our petty, selfish, and impoverished mindsets. We must all realize that we live in vanity. If we can see that life is merely vanity, why do we invest so much effort in making life so good? Since it is vanity of vanities, let us dedicate our earthly days to God.

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. (Romans 8:18)

I see many brothers and sisters living in distress, preoccupied with many things, yet neglecting God.

For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. (Romans 8:19-21)

Knowing that we live in vanity, we should not live so seriously, fretting over this and that. After ministering to these brothers and sisters, I also begin to feel preoccupied and distressed, needing release. I pray and release myself. I wonder why these people are so concerned with their own abilities and other trivial matters when we are merely living in vanity.

A brother's father had insomnia but fell asleep listening to the Book of Ecclesiastes. We must live out our sonship, ensuring that nothing can separate us from God's love, and freely give away God's love. Brothers and sisters, we have a wealthy Heavenly Father. Even if we are not living well now, we must turn back to God. We can draw on the wealth of God's Kingdom. Our love for God is not a transaction, and we must not have an idolatrous mindset. Love is about offering oneself completely. God is our Father, and we are His sons. If people do not treat God as God, how can they love Him? We must learn to love God, not money. To love God is to diligently keep and obey His word willingly.

I recently heard a story about a brother who only ate meat his entire life. When he was dating his girlfriend, she cooked a large pot of vegetables. Because of love, the brother ate all the vegetables. Later, when the love faded, he went back to eating meat. Love is miraculous. Love allows us to diligently keep and obey God's word. We must know that we love God, and His commands are meant to bring us glory and to enable us to become like Him again.

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? (Romans 8:31-35)

As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:36-39)

Today, I encourage everyone to be spiritual, using our spiritual eyes to see the essence of things. God will surely help us. When we are weak, the Holy Spirit helps us, interceding for the saints according to God's will. God has prepared all things for us, freely giving them to us. Are you willing to receive this today? Deep down, you must have the identity of a son of God, willing to break the bondages upon you.

A brother opened a frozen dumpling factory, but the machines broke down. The engineers he hired could not fix them. Later, he came to me, and I led him in prayer. I told him to go near the machines. As he approached, he felt cold all over because his factory was on a former burial ground, with many evil spirits behind it. As I prayed with him, one of his employees told him that the machines in their factory were working again. However, this brother was still very carnal. For example, when he encountered bank loan problems, he continued to use carnal solutions, such as giving gifts and treating people to meals. I said, If you can't pay it back now, then don't worry about it. What I meant was, why not rely on our wealthy Heavenly Father?

As a result, I arranged for a pastor to lead him in prayer, but this pastor was also one who indulged the flesh. Until today, I have been constantly dealing with people's carnal habits. I replaced the pastor for this brother with another one, guiding him to continually deal with his carnal habits. A miraculous thing happened: customers were willing to buy his goods and paid him immediately. He paid off the money he owed the bank, the factory could operate, and the cash flow was normal. I think our Heavenly Father is amazing. After we are transformed, we must never go back to our old ways and use carnal methods to solve problems. We must know that we have a wealthy Heavenly Father, and we can live a wealthy life in this world.

Conclusion

Such people can receive God's grace; who can separate us from God's love? Even when we were living poorly, God did not abandon us. God has always freely given us grace, allowing us to repent. Never think that the problems on our bodies cannot be resolved. I know that many in our church are still in debt. As long as you are willing to continue walking this path with us, we can draw on God's grace, choose to rely solely on God, cast off the slave mentality, and strive to pursue God. We must desire to become like the Son of God, experiencing God's wealth in this process. The bondage of our poverty will surely be broken. May God bless everyone!
