【Sermon】The Holy Spirit Helps in Human Weakness

2017-04-18 31,205 Sermon Confidence Curse Help of the Holy Spirit Tongues Power Blessing

All Men Are Weak

I feel very good today because I have always been speaking while standing. A teacher earns his keep by standing; it does not look right to lecture while sitting. Therefore, a teacher must stand to earn his living. Later, I discovered that a pastor also earns his keep by standing because standing and sitting have different effects; the difference is significant. To earn a living, one must have good teeth for eating. To earn a living as a pastor or teacher, one must have strong legs and be able to stand for long periods, as a single session can last four hours. Develop a habit of speaking while standing because speaking while standing does not hurt your back.

Today, I want to share a topic with you that involves the most miraculous part of my life experience, which is the Holy Spirit's help in human weakness. Why do we believe in the Lord? Because our weakness has the help of the Holy Spirit! Human weakness is fully manifested in people. For example, I do not want to be entangled, but I am; I do not want to be depressed, but I always am; I want to do something, but I just cannot do it. What I do not want to do, I end up doing. A person's life is truly not easy. In fact, all men are weak; no one can accomplish anything by themselves. Some may disagree and say that many famous people have achieved great things. What I mean is that you can do something in the world, but no matter what, you cannot solve the issue of life and death.

Indeed, all men are weak. In this weak life, you need to know one thing: learn to bring God's power into our midst. When you bring God's power into a person's life, you will experience God. Although a person has weaknesses, he can overcome them through God. Many people like to exploit human weakness. Do not think that just because I am standing here sharing, I am not a weak person. If I were not a weak person, it would only be after I die and are resurrected. But today, I am still a weak person. Do not stumble because of my weakness. If you stumble because of my weakness, it would be as futile as Alibaba closing down brick and mortar businesses! Although I am weak, what does that have to do with you receiving God's grace?

In reality, I have countless weaknesses, but I still like to boast about them because God's strength and salvation are manifested in my weakness. You and I are both weak. Why allow you to be weak but not me? We are all weak, and you must allow me to be weak. However, in the process of my weakness, I will choose to be strengthened again by God. That is to say, my weakness has never hindered God's power from being manifested through my life! It is crucial to know that all men are weak, so that we will no longer judge others. No matter what people are like, they cannot hinder God's grace in our lives. So, do not say that my weakness makes you stumble. It has nothing to do with me; you will stumble if you stumble. For Jesus is appointed for the rise and fall of many in Israel, and for a sign that is opposed. Those who have faith will be raised up, and those who do not have faith will fall.

Although I am a person of great faith, I still have my weaknesses. If you measure me by so-called life standards, I would fail. Even if you measure me by a monk's standards, I would not qualify. Why? Because I do not live by the rules of the flesh. I have many shortcomings, but fortunately, our weakness has the help of the Holy Spirit. What the Holy Spirit does in me allows my weakness to manifest God's strength and glory!

Scripture

id="h2-theholy20spirit2623393Bs20intercession20and20help">The Holy Spirit's Intercession and Help

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. (Romans 8:26-30)

Yesterday, a sister told me that her favorite book is Romans. Actually, the content of Romans is quite profound, but I think it clearly explains the most basic spiritual laws. There is a very important statement in Romans: Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. You must remember this sentence no matter what. God has never denied that you are a weak person. Our God is very real and knows our weaknesses very well. It is okay if you are weak, but God helps us through the Holy Spirit because God loves us!

Prayer

Lord, you know our weaknesses. May every brother and sister not stumble because of the weaknesses of others. Instead, because of the weaknesses of others, we bear with one another and are able to save one another. In this world, we can see that when we love one another, your Spirit moves in our midst. Lord, may your Spirit move in our midst, may your Spirit do new things in our midst, and may your Spirit lead us to overcome all the weaknesses in us. Lord, we thirst, thirst for you to manifest more glory in us. Lord, since you have called us to imitate your Son Jesus Christ, we begin to enter into you and receive glory.

Lord, you said to let us receive glory, and we desire such things to continue to be accomplished in our midst. Lord, we thank you for what you are doing in our midst today. We are already experiencing the glory that you have bestowed upon us. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

God's Solution to Man's Weakness is Through the Holy Spirit

All men are weak, but God has created a way to solve man's weakness. If you do not know that your weakness is a problem that God wants to solve, that is a very sad thing. If a person could accomplish something by his flesh, God would not need to solve it in this manner. Today, you must come to God in faith. Because of believing in God, the Holy Spirit helps us solve our problem of weakness. How does God help us with our weakness? It is the Holy Spirit who helps us. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. When the Spirit of God dwells in us, our weak life becomes strong. Therefore, start examining the Bible carefully today, and you will come to a conclusion: man cannot do anything by himself; only through the Spirit of God can things be accomplished, including our own salvation.

The Key Role of the Holy Spirit in the Christian Faith

If you examine the Bible again and again, according to grammar, you will find that man is an object. God makes us holy, God makes us receive, God makes us gain strength, God is our strength, God is our fortress, God is our refuge. It does not say that man can do anything himself. Therefore, today we must begin to learn to rely on the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the key to God solving our problems. John the Baptist baptized Jesus Christ. Jesus came to John the Baptist, and John the Baptist said, I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me? Jesus said, It is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness. Then John the Baptist followed those crowds, many of whom came to be baptized, and he said, I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.

Therefore, after Jesus rose from the dead, before ascending to heaven, He said, Wait in Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high, the promised Holy Spirit. The Lord Jesus baptizes us with the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit will enable us to overcome our weaknesses. Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words, and he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. Therefore, today we must know for certain that the way to solve man's weakness is through the Holy Spirit. If we depart from the Holy Spirit, the Christian faith is no longer the faith, it is no longer the original Christian faith.

The Key to the Integrity of the Christian Faith in Jesus Christ Lies in the Holy Spirit

Today, let us carefully consider why Paul wrote this: Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. When we go back and examine the Bible carefully, we will find that the Holy Spirit has come. Whether in the mouth of Jesus Christ or in the mouths of Paul and Peter, it plays a very crucial role and is indispensable. Today, brothers and sisters, let us begin to consider one thing: what exactly does the Bible say? In fact, when I face brothers and sisters in traditional churches, I feel a trace of sorrow in my heart. Because the Bible speaks so clearly, why do we read the same Bible but read different things? After they read it, they do not care about it. I do not know why, but they just cannot read such things.

Today, brothers and sisters must know for certain that the Bible never says that the first step, the second step, and the third step can be omitted or that the first step, the second step, and the third step can be skipped. You must follow the first step, the second step, and the third step because these steps are described in the Bible. If you are willing, I can take you to examine this passage of Scripture. The Bible records that a person confesses his sins, repents, accepts Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and then is baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus, and then receives the Holy Spirit. Traditional churches say that if you confess your sins, repent, and accept Jesus Christ as Lord, then you automatically receive the Holy Spirit. I am a very rigorous scholar, and when I examined the Bible, I found that this is not what it says but the Chinese Mingding Destiny.

The Importance and Power of Receiving the Holy Spirit

In Acts chapter 8, it is recorded that the apostles Peter and John heard that the Samaritans had believed in the Lord and were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they went to that place and asked them if they had received the Holy Spirit. If the apostles Peter and John asked this question, it proves one thing: receiving the Holy Spirit is not automatic. I have never seen any statement in the Bible that receiving the Holy Spirit is automatic. Therefore, if you are deceived today, you must wake up again today. The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness, and we receive power through the Holy Spirit to overcome our weakness. What is weakness? Weakness is lack of power, and if you are in need of power, you need the Holy Spirit. Jesus said, Wait in Jerusalem and go nowhere until the Holy Spirit whom the Father has promised comes upon you. As a result, on the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they were empowered.

Today, we begin to see that this is a complete step. That is, you must rely on Jesus Christ, accept Him as your Lord and Savior, confess your sins, repent, be baptized in the name of Jesus, and then there is another step called receiving the Holy Spirit. When I saw this sentence, I was very, very shocked. I asked quite a few Christians I knew if they had been asked about receiving the Holy Spirit, and the result was that none of them had been asked. Today, ask yourself if you have received the Holy Spirit. If you have not received the Holy Spirit and then believe that you already have the Holy Spirit, that is a delusion. The devil's trick is to let us lose the most crucial component of the faith in Jesus Christ: the Holy Spirit. In fact, being filled with the Holy Spirit is the most important thing in the Bible and an integral part of the gospel of Jesus Christ, which cannot be separated. So why did Peter say this? Because Peter believed in the Lord on his own and denied the Lord three times.

Before Jesus Christ was arrested, he said to Jesus, Even if I die, I will not deny Jesus Christ, I will follow you, I am willing to die with you.” As a result, when Jesus was arrested, he denied the Lord three times that night. He found that he wanted to be strong in his heart, but he could not be strong. What he said was, I don't know him, I don't know what you are talking about. When Jesus Christ looked up at Peter after three denials, Peter was very, very sad. Through this, Jesus proved that people cannot believe anything by their flesh. Peter was the best among all believers in the Lord and one of the disciples that Jesus Christ liked the most. Peter was still like that and denied the Lord three times. Therefore, people are weak without the Holy Spirit, and they become strong with the Holy Spirit.

In the history of Christianity in the past, the most powerful thing the devil has done is to remove receiving the Holy Spirit, so that many Christians believe that it is enough to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. In fact, the Bible never says that. You can go to Acts chapter 19. Paul met several disciples in Corinth and asked, Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed? Later, I found that Peter also asked this question, so I have reason to believe that in the early church, every believer asked this question. Why? Because man's weakness can only be strengthened with the help of the Holy Spirit. This is a complete part of God's gospel and is inseparable. So I think that people must know the devil's tricks. What does the devil want? He wants our powerful gospel to become a powerless gospel.

A powerless gospel cannot produce any shock and impact on the devil's kingdom and the world. Because of this, the devil's lies are released into Christians, and Christians become the devil's prey. Therefore, today we must restore the integrity of the Bible and restore the integrity of our gospel of Jesus Christ.

Being Filled with the Holy Spirit and Receiving Power

God's power is to solve our weakness. What is weakness? Weakness is lack of power. But today, you must know for certain that receiving the Holy Spirit is to solve man's weakness. I read a passage in the Bible that said that the Apostle Paul spoke in tongues more than all of you. You will find that when a person is filled with the Holy Spirit, he will pray in tongues. After a person prays in tongues, it does not mean that I am only filled with the Holy Spirit once and the prayer in tongues is over. It's like you're still hungry after eating a meal. There is a drama that I think is quite interesting: a child said, Dad, I'm hungry, Dad, I'm hungry! As a result, the child's father said, Didn't you have enough to eat last year? Is the meal you ate last year still useful this year? It's just like the meal you ate yesterday is no longer useful today.

The same goes for praying in the Holy Spirit. Being constantly filled with the Holy Spirit is what the Bible teaches. Receiving the Holy Spirit is about us receiving God's power and is a key part of solving our weakness. Paul was very powerful, and he spoke in tongues more than all of you. I am a weak person, but I imitate the Apostle Paul and pray for a long time in the spirit. God's spirit empowers me, and miracles and wonders are performed through my hands. We believe in Jesus, and we must believe what Jesus says in the Bible. If we act according to God's word, we will receive power. This is what Jesus said: But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. If you are a weak person, I have a suggestion for you: pray in the Spirit for a long time. I cannot explain it through my intellect, nor can I give a perfect answer to contemplative people. However, this is what the Bible says.

Many things in the world cannot be explained, and our language has limitations. It is even difficult to describe our own feelings clearly. Sometimes we have feelings, but we cannot find the right words to describe them, so words are a limitation. Therefore, praying in tongues breaks through the limitations of our language. There are no words and no letters. It is the Holy Spirit leading you to pray, breaking through the limitations of language. When God's Spirit comes upon us, we receive power. These are the words of Jesus Christ. If the faith of Jesus Christ has no power, you must repent, restore the teachings of the Bible, and enter into the power of the Holy Spirit. Paul did not explain why he did this; that is just what he did.

The same is true for writing computer programs in reality. If you ask why you write it this way all day long, you will never learn it. Because there is no why, this is the program defined by the developer. You just write it according to the steps. When HW came to us, we suggested that she learn HTML and JavaScript. If she asked why to write it this way all day long, I don't think she would learn it at all. I am a simple person, and simplicity makes people smart, while complexity makes people foolish. The revealed things belong to us, but the secret things belong to the Lord our God. The reason why God has not revealed all the secret things to us is because we cannot accept them at all; there is too much content. Therefore, we should not dwell on why we do this, but rather start to continuously implement things, and we will receive power, and miracles and wonders will follow us!

Prayer and the Power of the Holy Spirit

After Peter was filled with the Holy Spirit, he saw the paralyzed man who sat at the temple gate every day begging for money. He commanded him to rise up and walk in the name of Jesus, and the man rose up and walked. This seems completely unreasonable. The doctor had already said that he could not walk from birth, but after praying, he could rise up and walk because miracles themselves do not conform to human logic. I encourage everyone to come out of human logic and not to quibble, because quibbling does not solve any problems. Do you really understand that receiving the Holy Spirit is to receive God's power? If you ask me if it is true or false, I can only tell you that I don't know. Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought. Didn't Paul know how to pray? Paul often prayed before he believed in Jesus, but he said that he did not know how to pray, because he prayed with a lot of his own knowledge and did not receive an answer.

Do You Really Know How to Pray?

The act of asking and receiving the Holy Spirit is about power, and prayer is about releasing God's power. After Peter prayed for the lame man, the lame man could rise up and walk. That is releasing God's power, and that is how to pray. I once did a rough statistic and found that the percentage of prayers of many Christians that are answered by God is very low, almost a small probability event, and they explain that it is normal. In fact, that is not knowing how to pray! Paul's name was Saul before he believed in the Lord, and he prayed a lot at that time because he was of the sect of the Pharisees. But his prayer was not effective, and they felt that it was normal. In fact, that is not normal. If you have received the Holy Spirit, you will receive power, and the Holy Spirit will intercede for you within you.

Why did Paul pray in tongues in the spirit for a long time? Because praying in tongues is the Holy Spirit interceding for us with groanings too deep for words, which transcends our reason and logical system. If you think that your knowledge is rich enough, you are a foolish person. If you think that you can understand all things in the world, you are a foolish person. The Holy Spirit often prays in words that we do not understand. Paul achieved results through prolonged prayer, and therefore Paul performed many miracles. Is your prayer really effective? Last week, the parents of a 14-year-old child said that their child had uremia. I thought that if Jesus stood in front of this child, he would heal the child! I often tell myself that if Jesus stands in front of a person with a problem, He will heal that person. Later, I found that I could not solve people's problems because I did not have God's power in me.

Then I challenged myself to start praying hard, imitating Jesus, and praying continuously for a long time. Later, I found that the effectiveness of prayer continued to increase, from 0.1% being answered to gradually increasing to 10%, and later almost all of them were answered. Because the Holy Spirit intercedes for us within us, and the Holy Spirit is full of the power of Jesus Christ. Therefore, praying in the spirit is very important. The Holy Spirit knows God's intentions and prays for us according to God's will. Therefore, praying in tongues is very good, and everyone must start praying in tongues often. Some people say that prayers in tongues must be translated before they can be prayed. Paul had so many prayers in tongues that were not translated, and God really does not care about this matter. If you care about this matter very much, I will not argue with you but Chinese Mingding Destiny. The Bible never says that all prayers in tongues must be translated.

The Holy Spirit's Help and the Effectiveness of Prayer

Today, in our church, if your prayer is ineffective, you must start to reflect on whether you have received the Holy Spirit. There are many things in traditional churches that do not conform to the Bible. If we reflect carefully, we can receive anew from God, transform the faith of Jesus Christ back into a powerful faith, and transform our ineffective prayers into effective prayers. One of the most shocking things to me is when a four-year-old child prayed for someone with illness and that person was healed; it turns out that God does not rely on human understanding at all. Although we must be fully aware of God's grace in our understanding, it does not mean that you must know all the mysteries of God in your understanding. Praying in the spirit is one of them. Praying often in the Holy Spirit is what the Bible requires.

Jesus Christ said, And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues. These words alone are sufficient for us to reflect. If your prayers seem sometimes effective and sometimes not, it is time to reflect. If you pray often in the spirit, you will overcome the weaknesses in your life. In truth, I went through a period of great distress and entanglement because the reality of my circumstances offered no hope. So I knelt down and prayed in tongues. Some say, It sounds like the pastor always prays the same thing. Whether you listen to Japanese or English speakers, it seems like they are saying the same thing as well. But it is not the same; you simply have not discerned the difference.

Whether they are the same or not, I do not care. I only care about one thing: when I pray in the spirit, my inner strength is elevated. My inner strength can withstand these entanglements, discouragement, distress, and the urge to weep. The Holy Spirit helps our weaknesses. For we do not know how to pray as we ought, Paul himself said. We, therefore, have no right to claim we know how to pray. Paul's logic and theological view are that one must pray in the spirit and with understanding—both are indispensable. To be filled with the knowledge of God in understanding and to pray in tongues in the spirit is Paul's teaching. Brothers and sisters, you must know that the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express, to help our weakness. And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to God's will.

With the Help of the Holy Spirit, All Things Work Together for Good

With the help of the Holy Spirit, all things work together for good for those who love God. Today, brothers and sisters, you must know why those who do not pray in the spirit do not see all things working together for good for those who love God. It is because the Spirit's help is essential for all things to work together for good; God's Spirit is the key. Therefore, Genesis 1:1 states, In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light. Today, if we were to write Genesis 1 like this: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth, and God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light, it would be useless. The Bible does not say it that way, or else you can try it and see. If the Spirit of God is not moving there, your declarations will amount to nothing, because the Spirit of God is the key.

The Holy Spirit's Help and Imitating Christ

We must know definitively that it is not by you and me, not by our abilities that we can accomplish anything, but by the power of God. Why must we rely on God's power to accomplish things? Because we are truly very weak. Only when the Holy Spirit moves is there light, and only when the Holy Spirit moves do bad things turn into good things; all of this is accomplished by the Spirit of God. The account in Genesis in the Bible is worth pondering carefully. People clearly saw that God was with Isaac, and as a result, in the year when famine struck the land, his fields yielded a hundredfold. Because the Spirit of God was there, it brought about good things. God told Isaac not to go to Egypt, and he reaped a hundredfold harvest. Others had little harvest, but he reaped a hundredfold.

Isaac not only made a lot of money, but those around him saw that God was clearly with Isaac. That is to say, if the Spirit of God is with Isaac, whatever Isaac does, even in a year of famine, bad things will turn into good things. God was with Joseph, God was with Abraham, God was with Jacob—this is the key. In my course sharing, I often discuss what is called blessing and what is called curse. If God is with you and what you do is protected by God, that is a blessing. If there is no divine protection and evil spirits are with you, that is a curse. So today, brothers and sisters, we must know definitively that with the help of the Holy Spirit, all things work together for good for those who love God. If you do not have the Spirit of God, without the Holy Spirit's help, it is useless. To say that without God's Spirit being with you, all things will work together for good—what will it achieve? Nothing.

Today, many people living in the world do not have the Holy Spirit's help. All bad things remain bad, not turning into good. But for those who have the Holy Spirit's help, even if you encounter bad situations, God will turn them around for good, because the Holy Spirit transforms these things into good.

With the Help of the Holy Spirit, One Will Imitate Jesus Christ

For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. (Romans 8:29)

For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit. (John 3:34)

God's Spirit dwells in Jesus without limit, because He is the Son of God. Mary, Jesus' mother, conceived Jesus through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit was in Jesus Christ without limit, so it was especially easy for Him to perform miracles; a touch was enough, because God's Spirit was helping Him. If we do not have God's Spirit within us, what are we believing in when we believe in Jesus? Is that really believing in Jesus? Believing in Jesus only to end up finding it hard to continue believing! The traditional church's logical system is hard to believe in; truly hard! I do not have as much faith as they do, but I have the Holy Spirit, and I know that the Spirit of God is in me, helping me, so I can do what Jesus did.

In my life, there are a few things worth boasting about. First, I boast in my weaknesses, because the Holy Spirit helps my weaknesses. Second, I boast that I want to imitate Jesus; the Spirit of God motivates me from within to start imitating Jesus. Those without the Holy Spirit will say, Hey, how many Jesuses are there? Just one, right? I am not Jesus! Such words are terrible to hear. You are indeed not Jesus, but are you imitating Jesus? If you want to imitate Jesus, you must do what Jesus did, because Jesus said, The works I have been doing you shall do also. Yet they do not do what Jesus did, and they do a bunch of things Jesus did not do. Recently, are some among us still rehearsing for Christmas programs? After Christmas programs, they rehearse for Passion Week programs. Is the faith in Jesus Christ just a faith of putting on programs? But I have never seen Jesus put on programs.

The Holy Spirit's Help and the Manifestation of Glory

They do not do what Jesus did, and they do a bunch of things Jesus did not do. I am very surprised and astonished that they are believing in Jesus in a way that does not resemble Jesus. Then those who do not resemble Jesus think that their faith is very pure. Are there any among us like this? If so, quickly type it out to let me know, and then tell yourselves to start imitating Jesus. If Jesus did not put on programs, and you are still putting on programs, then that is a waste of time, because putting on programs does not set people free. If you think that putting on programs is a good way to spread the gospel, then that is wrong. Jesus never used putting on programs to spread the gospel, and the Apostle Paul did not rely on putting on programs to spread the gospel. Modern people have invented a bunch of useless things. If you do not have power, what gospel can you spread? Spreading a powerless gospel is not only not enough, but it is subject to a curse!

If there are still those among us who are putting on programs in local churches, continue to do so if you wish! I will not stop you. But the question is, does that thing resemble Jesus? Miracles and wonders were the main theme of Jesus Christ’s life. Jesus Christ performed many miracles and wonders in the world; we should imitate Jesus. Why are Jesus' prayers effective, while our prayers are not? Is that not worth pondering? Because Jesus had the Holy Spirit upon Him, but those people do not have the Holy Spirit upon them. Today, my prayers are also becoming more and more like Jesus, because I strive to be like Jesus. I long for our brothers and sisters to know that with the help of the Holy Spirit, you will imitate Jesus. If there is no Holy Spirit helping, you need to return to square one, re-accept Jesus Christ as Lord, and then begin to receive the Holy Spirit.

With the Help of the Holy Spirit, God Glorifies Us

And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. (Romans 8:30)

The word glorified is one of the most puzzling terms in the life of a Christian. In fact, God longs to share His glory with us. I often hear the phrase do not steal God's glory, and then they receive God's glory but treat it as stealing God's glory. Today, I begin to share with everyone what is called glory. Later, I examined the Bible carefully and found that the Bible speaks very clearly, so I will not get bogged down in the verbs, nouns, or Greek or Hebrew words of the Bible. Because the words are relatively simple, even illiterate people who understand some Chinese can grasp the general meaning, because we focus on the main points. A blind man could not see, so some people wondered if the blindness was due to his father's sin, his own sin, or what. Jesus said it was not because of any sin, but so that the works of God might be displayed.

Some people neglect this part, thinking that a person's blindness is to glorify God? But what glory is there in people being blind on the streets? If they remain blind, there is no glory to speak of. Some say it does not matter, that it is also glory, the glory of being blind. Do you like being blind? You do not like being blind at all, and God does not particularly like you being blind either. How is glory manifested? Because Jesus opened the eyes of the blind so that they could see, this is called glory. God making the blind see is what is called being glorified. In fact, Jesus Christ did not say that the blindness had nothing to do with sin, because our Jesus Christ certainly bore our sins and carried our iniquities, and by His wounds, we are healed. So Jesus made the blind see, not because the blind man's sin was attributed to the blind man, but it was attributed to Jesus Christ.

God's Power Is Made Perfect in Weakness

Jesus simply wanted people not to fixate on the person's sins, but to fix their eyes on God's glory. So performing miracles is to glorify God's name. If God does this through our hands, then we and God are glorified together. God glorifies us; those He justified, He also glorified, meaning that God's hand will manifest His power through you, and God's power will manifest His ability through your hands. You must do what Jesus did, because performing miracles is manifesting God's glory. If you do not quite believe this, you can read John chapter 2.

What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him. (John 2:11)

Therefore, miracles and God’s glory cannot be separated. For example, Lazarus rising from the dead, the Bible also makes it very clear that Jesus said it was to reveal God’s glory. That is to say, miracles and wonders and God’s glory cannot be separated. Today we must also know that the gospel Paul proclaimed is a gospel that overcomes people’s weaknesses. The gospel that overcomes people’s weaknesses is also God manifesting His power through our weaknesses and glorifying us. Today, brothers and sisters, you must start seeing what God is doing among us. Do you think that is God’s glory or our glory? It is both God’s glory and our glory, because God will use these things to glorify us, because the Holy Spirit helps us. God's power is made perfect in our weakness, as recorded in 2 Corinthians chapter 12.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)

God's Power Is Made Perfect in Our Weakness

How does the Holy Spirit help us? The Holy Spirit is with us, and through the miracles and wonders He performs, we are glorified, so as to show that we are servants of God. In Paul's original words, it is to show the marks of an apostle. Paul ministered in the Corinthian church for a year and a half. After he left, a group of people came to the Corinthian church and deceived the Corinthians with sweet talk, and the Corinthians believed those people. As a result, Paul wrote 1 Corinthians and 2 Corinthians, in which he wrote a lot about weakness. Paul was not without weaknesses; Paul also had weaknesses. But those false Christians who came to the Corinthian church used Paul's weaknesses to stir things up. As a result, when the Corinthians heard this, they said, Wow, what you said about Paul's weaknesses is true. What they said about Paul's weaknesses was true.

As a result, the Corinthians followed these sweet-talking people and began to resist Paul, even reject Paul, and the relationship with Paul became very strange. Can you imagine this? The church that Paul himself established, after a year and a half in their midst with miracles, and God’s powerful evidence demonstrating the marks of an apostle, at this time, a few sweet words deceived the Corinthian church. The people of the Corinthian church were deceived not because Paul had no weaknesses, but because what they said about Paul's weaknesses was true. Today, I am very touched, and there are also many people who use my weaknesses to stir things up. In fact, there is a long-standing pain in my heart, which is very painful, but some people use my pain to stir things up, which is very, very painful.

Trust in Weakness and God's Help

Today, brothers and sisters, you must know not to rub salt in my wounds. When those people fall, I also feel heartache. Who is weak, and I am not weak? But what does it matter? Who falls, and I do not feel heartache? It is those who leave the church that really cause heartache. They are all people I have ministered to, and they are people who have received grace through my ministry. They forced Paul to write such words in 1 Corinthians and 2 Corinthians. Paul said that if I want to boast, I will boast in my weaknesses. You forced me to become a fool by saying this. In fact, which person who truly serves does not have weaknesses? I certainly have my own weaknesses, but this cannot hinder God's destiny for me, nor can it hinder God's great power from being manifested in us.

I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power. (1 Corinthians 2:3)

When Paul first arrived in Corinth to start the church, he was weak, fearful, and trembling. Can you understand what that situation was like? In fact, I also feel the same way every time I read Paul's epistles. Leaving home and abandoning my family to come to this place, who would not be weak? You think I'm very strong and full of faith? No, it's often very hard. Once, brothers and sisters came to comfort me, and I said, Who is weak, and I am not weak? I was completely in the dark, not knowing what the road ahead would be like, only walking forward in faith. In fact, the road is not easy to walk, and it is quite difficult. It is easy to say, but it is really full of challenges. It is like a burden on a person's shoulders, and without relying on the Holy Spirit, there is no way to overcome it.

But I thank God that He did not let me experience the whippings and stonings that Paul experienced. But no matter what, people are still weak, and I am not a person without flesh and blood. Today, let's try pricking ourselves with an awl, and it will definitely hurt. Pinch someone with your hand, and they will definitely scream. So when Paul arrived in Corinth, he said in that place, I was weak, fearful, and trembling, but this could not hinder God's power from being manifested through Paul. In fact, every time I see brothers and sisters come on stage to testify, it is a great encouragement to me, because God's power is constantly manifested among us, strengthening our faith.

Do Not Judge People

Do not judge people, and I do not judge myself, and you do not judge me, and I do not judge you. We only care whether brothers and sisters are edified, because we are all weak, and we all need the help of the Holy Spirit. If there is anything to boast about, boast in our weaknesses. Because we are all weak, and we boast in our weaknesses, because God’s power is revealed in our weaknesses, and I do not trust myself. From a human perspective, I am more qualified than many people to trust myself, but I know that I cannot rely on myself; it is useless, so I begin to learn to trust in God. If I begin to learn to trust in God, should you not learn to trust in God even more? Do not judge people, and begin to learn to trust in God, because we are all weak.

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. (Romans 8:31-33)

It is not because of my actions that God justifies me, but because of my heart that trusts in God, God justifies me. It is not beneficial to use my weaknesses to stir things up.

Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:34-39)

Conclusion

Brothers and sisters, shift our gaze away from people's weaknesses. I may fall, but I will get up; I may make mistakes, but I will certainly confess and repent again. I have been weak, but every time I am weak, I know that there is God's abundant grace and mercy. Today, God's Spirit will certainly help us, and God's Spirit will certainly make us victorious. I know that there are weaknesses in you too, do not worry, because the Holy Spirit will certainly help you. Start by not being stiff-necked, but knowing for sure that if you trust in God, God will certainly help you. God is the God who helps us, no need to worry, no need to be afraid. Know that your certainty will enable you to draw on God's power.

Start rising up, in this generation, receive God's great power through the Holy Spirit, to make us victorious, because God is the God who makes us victorious. Nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. You and I still have weaknesses, it does not matter, God knows this, but even if we have weaknesses, we can still choose to love God, follow Jesus Christ, imitate Him, become a vessel that God can use, and become a blessing to this generation, Amen!

Pastor, does having tongues mean receiving the Holy Spirit? I have tongues and often pray in tongues, but I still have no power. I want to participate in your healing and deliverance training. Is there online training? Looking forward to your reply!
