【Sermon】Be Fruitful and Multiply!

2018-06-17 15,623 Sermon

1. Introduction

The concept of having many children and grandchildren has long been associated with China, but it did not originate there. However, the biblical understanding of many children and grandchildren differs from the Chinese interpretation. God wants us to become a great nation; He is not a stingy God who is content with a small business and a barely sustainable existence, living quietly unnoticed. Instead, we should aspire to be like Abraham in his time.

The question arises: Do you harbor a small-scale peasant mentality or a grand national dream? When the church was first established, it was desolate, yet people saw me as the pastor of a large church. I walked with confidence, but at home, the reality was bleak. Nevertheless, I had a dream. A pastor of a small church can still serve pastors of large churches and cast out many demons, as I did when ministering to a senior pastor with hydrocephalus.

Abraham took a wife but remained childless for many years. Where, then, was the great nation and multitude of descendants that God had promised? If you hold Abraham's vision of a great nation in your heart, even without descendants, God can raise up descendants for Abraham from stones. As long as you dream of a great nation, God will surely bring it to pass. Our God fulfills us according to the faith within us. Some people are physically large but extremely petty, while others are small in stature but capable of great generosity, like Deng Xiaoping. Your mindset determines your destiny. I do not encourage anyone to be petty; petty people cannot be blessed. I have a dream of a great nation within me, and some people ridicule me for it. Before WeChat existed, someone created it; before Alibaba existed, Jack Ma had a dream within him that drove him to create it. People may not see much in me, but that is all right; I have God. Looking back, it is truly a story of multiplying and filling the earth. Wherever the internet reaches, we can pastor.

Some accuse me of preaching prosperity theology. Would you rather I preached a failure theology? God did not tell you to become a famous loser. Our God told Adam, Abraham, and many others to multiply, be fruitful, and prosper.

Some ask, Pastor, why do I often hear you preach from Genesis? In fact, Genesis is the key to the entire Bible.

2. Scripture

God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.
Genesis 1:28

4. God's Intent for Us Is Important

God did not create Adam and Eve in heaven because the earth needed managing, not heaven. Understand that Genesis is for humans to read, not for God. Many people misinterpret Genesis. God first created humans on earth. If you do not believe my words, then believe the words of the Bible. We must grasp God's intent and carefully ponder His words from now on. The Bible does not say that people go to heaven after death; God says that we are to be on earth as it is in heaven. Our God is the God of the living, not the God of the dead. I do not care what happens after death. Some people preach the gospel by saying that believing in Jesus means carrying a cross, but I do not see that in the Bible.

As I read the Bible more, I will adjust my understanding little by little. Salvation is not about going to heaven after death; it is about God creating us in His image to represent Him and exercise dominion. We must remove many religious notions. Our God is one who wants us to do practical things, not just say Hallelujah. The trappings of religion do not solve any problems. We must be creative, able to solve problems, and be wise. The world needs people who create value, who worship in spirit and truth. Evangelism is about us becoming fruitful and multiplying, filling the earth, and becoming a great nation.

The gospel we preach is one of vibrant prosperity, where everyone feels different when they see you. Read the Bible more and make adjustments. God created us in His image. So we must start anew. Why is China so opposed to religion? Because after believing, people become like spiritual mediums, not like humans.

People who solve problems are good. Now we must learn to do meaningful things. The world does not need people who shout Hallelujah. Believing in the Lord allows us to prosper, become a great nation, and multiply. We cannot eat if we do not do proper work. We must start doing. Do not think that curses do not come from God; they do. A curse is a curse. Do not talk nonsense. Now we must read the Bible carefully, not blindly.

A sister came to me. I ministered to her, and she had a severe religious spirit. She had many children, and she said that God had blessed her with many descendants, so I blessed her. What does it mean to have many descendants? Abraham was born of God, so it only counts if you are born of God. Being born of the Spirit is what matters.

>“Sing, barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy, you who were never in labor; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband,” says the Lord.

Shouting slogans does not solve problems; doing practical things does. When others have problems, they need healing and deliverance, not comfort. Cast out the demons. Do not speak empty words, but do practical things. Having the genes of Abraham without the heart of Abraham is not enough.

What determines whether you are a descendant of Abraham is your heart. A person's destiny is not determined by genes. Genes can determine expression, but the spiritual realm is everything.

4. Focus on Practical Action

Do what is practical and avoid empty rhetoric and slogans. Be born of God arithmetically. Pharisees are born of the flesh. Even with Abraham's genes, if they lack Abraham's heart—Abraham longed to be a blessing to all nations, yet the Pharisees preferred a narrow life. Be fruitful and multiply, bearing children of God. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit, and that which is born of the flesh is flesh.

Sing, barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy, you who were never in labor; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband,” says the Lord. (Isaiah 54:1)

Genes do not determine a person’s life or health. The spiritual realm dictates everything. The flesh is immaterial; it is the Spirit that gives life. God's Spirit dwells within us, guiding us as children of God. Let us multiply God's children, fill the earth, and govern it, so that God may magnify our name. Remember that we are propagating God's faith and restoring His will. The ability to bear fruit is crucial—spiritually bearing fruit, constantly evangelizing, being born in the spirit.

Believe that you can be a mighty warrior for evangelism. Manifest faith by trusting and relying on God, who will surely make you fruitful. In evangelism, do not speak empty words, but speak truthfully: believe in Jesus with me and live out God's glorious image. The religious spirit corrupts, and the Pharisees are termed a brood of vipers. Worship God in spirit and in truth. Be fruitful and multiply, bearing God's glorious image.

5. Shepherd God’s Flock

Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.” (John 21:16)

The dialogue between Jesus and Peter is practical. Love Me, then feed My sheep. Everyone must rise up to shepherd God's flock. God knows if you love Him. As we shepherd God's church, and everyone rises up to become a shepherd, your growth is assured. Understand human nature and spirituality; being controlled by the Spirit will shape your disposition. Understanding the essence of people allows you to become shrewd, ensuring you will not be poor but will become a leader, above and not beneath, the head and not the tail.

God delights in working with man; this is a perfect state. God is searching for a people to become His temple, where His Spirit may rest.

This is what the Lord says: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place be? Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?” declares the Lord. “These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word. (Isaiah 66:1-2)

Where is my resting place? God seeks those who tremble at His word.

We are created in God's image and thus begin to manage. Healing and deliverance restore the beautiful image God created. To restore man's image, demons must be cast out, and people must be freed from their oppression. Some suffer from mental illness or depression; after deliverance, they relapse into doubt. This is a vicious cycle. I discovered that after deliverance, they must be trained to do practical work.

Practical work is a crucial component of healing and deliverance. We can transform valueless individuals into valuable ones. Today, restoring God's glorious image is what we term the concept of redemption.

7. Restore the Glorious Image God Created in Us

All that God does aims to restore the glorious image of God that He created in us. We must eliminate the loser mentality within us, do practical work, and enjoy the work of our hands.

God saw emptiness and chaos and deemed it good because He could begin to create. Everyone must train themselves to see all as good. With efficiency and creativity, we can enjoy our labor and see hope in our vision.

8. Conclusion

Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth. The greatest creation of this generation is the Internet. A renowned pastor named Corandi, from Canada, brought the great North American revival. Once, he was paralyzed; many famous pastors prayed for him without success, but his son casually prayed for him in Japan, and he was healed.

In his book, Pastor Corandi concluded that even those with little faith can perform miracles. I read God's will as God intending to release His power and healing through the Internet.

I pray to God that we must establish a church online and release God’s power through the network. I do not endorse many physical gatherings; there is no need for tens of thousands to gather in one place to do anything. Jesus did not say that tens of thousands must pray together for effectiveness, but that when two or three agree in prayer, God is there.

Two or three can love each other and minister personally. Today, we have many conditions to realize this dream. Amen!
