Introduction

Brothers and sisters, good morning. Today, we will discuss the topic: The Word of God is living and effective. Many years ago, when I witnessed brothers and sisters in the church being healed and delivered, I wondered if it was real. At that time, I felt it was worth exploring. Later, when my family members contracted incurable diseases and were healed in the church, I thought it was a treasure. Later, when my dog's head swelled up, I held its head and prayed, and the dog was also healed. I said, My God is truly amazing. He truly blesses me and has mercy on me.

A few days ago, there was a message on the website. I eagerly wanted him to add our assistant so we could listen to and watch his testimony and video. I believe he is a regular listener to our sermons on the website because he heard me pray for my dog. He shared that one day his cat got sick, and he held the cat and prayed. After praying, the cat vomited many worms and was completely healed the next day. I proclaimed that our God is indeed a God who heals. The Bible speaks so well, as it is written:

“If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God: You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country. The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks. (Deuteronomy 28:1-4)

Think about it, even the livestock in the house are blessed because of us. What could be better than that? I have completely surrendered to the mighty hand of God, and I believe our God is a God who heals. The Gospel we believe in is powerful and effective. Why do people not like such things? This surprises me. I am very surprised that many Christians do not know that our God is a God who heals. When they see people not being healed, they argue why people are not healed, and they argue that God is no longer a God who heals. This is effective for me. Many people among us are healed, but it is ineffective for some people. Today, we ask, has the Word of God lost its effectiveness, or are we not aligning correctly?

For example, if we have a car but do not know how to drive it, how can the car possibly be on the road? If you say that the car cannot be on the road, that would be troublesome. If we have an airplane but do not know how to fly it, the airplane is also ineffective. Therefore, we must have both a flyable airplane and someone who knows how to fly it. Today, our God is powerful and effective, our Word of God is alive, and our Word of God is effective in solving problems. If you believe in a god who cannot solve problems, what are you doing? If you want me to believe in a god who is completely ineffective, it is difficult for me to go on. If you want me to receive a teaching that is completely ineffective, it is also difficult for me to accept. If you say I am pragmatic and realistic, I think my kind of pragmatism and realism is a good thing. If I cannot experience God while I am alive, and you tell me to go to God after I die, I think that is uncertain.

From the beginning when I believed in the Lord, I carefully read the Bible, and I like effective teachings. When I first read the Bible, I felt that everything the Bible said was true. The God we believe in today is the God of the living, as the Bible says. If you open Deuteronomy, Deuteronomy Chapter 28 speaks of blessings that are for us while we are alive. If you do not think that is the case, then look at the New Testament and the Old Testament, and see if they are speaking to the living or the dead. Therefore, not only is healing and deliverance effective for us, but also our work, life, and studies, everything is effective. How could our God not have mercy on us and care for us? We look at the scripture:

“If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God: You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country. The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks. Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed. You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out. “The Lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven. “The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you. The Lord will establish you as his holy people, as he has sworn to you, if you keep the commands of the Lord your God and walk in obedience to him. Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they will fear you. The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity—in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you—in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground. The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom. Do not turn aside from any of the commands I give you today, to the right or to the left, following other gods to serve them. (Deuteronomy 28:1-13)

You see, these scriptures are written about everyday trivial matters, but these things touch our hearts. For example, if you raise a herd of cattle and the cattle get sick, do you worry? You worry. If you raise a herd of pigs and the pigs get sick, do you worry? You worry. If you raise a flock of chickens and bird flu comes, do you worry? You worry. I think our God is not a God who is detached from the world. Our God cares for our work, life, and studies. As long as it is related to our lives, it is related to being blessed.

So, how can I deny that our God is a God who blesses us? I am more diligent than many people in pursuing the knowledge of God because I need our God to bless me in my work, studies, and life. Especially when I see that our brothers and sisters have problems with their work, life, and studies, I want to tie them to the wings of an airplane, I want to bind them to blessings.

Many years ago, the Spirit of God moved me to study IT outsourcing. I took all the relevant books and did research in my spare time, but I did my job very well. Two years later, I attended a new job interview, and the questions the interviewer asked me were about IT outsourcing. I said this was easy because I had been researching IT outsourcing very thoroughly for the past two years, including articles written by Harvard University professors. As a result, I got the job. Later, my work efficiency was particularly good, and I was very blessed.

God sees further than we do. Do you think my God's blessing on my work is effective? Absolutely effective. So, from the beginning when I believed in the Lord, I always put serving God first. So, our God is effective in my life. Why is it effective for me but not for some people? It is because I believe, and those people do not believe. The scripture for this sermon comes from Hebrews:

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

Why is it effective for some people but not for others? It has to do with belief and unbelief. I once ministered to a sister whose grades were terrible. Later, after she believed in the Lord and was delivered, her grades suddenly turned around. How did she get enlightened? For a period of time, she worked very hard and wanted to be delivered. Coincidentally, a sister with depression and insomnia came to the church, and she needed someone to lead her in prayer every day. At that time, we were not very experienced in dealing with depression and insomnia. As a result, this sister led her in prayer for three hours every day, spending one hour traveling there and one hour traveling back, and praying there for three hours, basically taking the last bus home. She came after work and led in prayer. This went on for three months. After three months, the person being ministered to was delivered, and she herself was also delivered.

Today, I think, this is called Mingding Destiny. A person with Mingding Destiny will have an enlightened mind. So today, when we see those who are not enlightened, we desperately push them into Mingding Destiny. Today, when I was preparing this sermon, I saw someone who believed in the Lord ten years ago and is still struggling to get a degree. I really wanted to push him to enlightenment, because it is very hard to be unenlightened. So I typed him a message, saying that the sermon I am giving today is for you.

I have a hope that all our brothers and sisters will become smarter, because our Word of God is living and effective. If you know how to receive the Word of God, our Word of God will definitely make you very smart. If believing in God only means carrying a briefcase, a laptop bag, plus a cross, that is a heavy burden to bear. But the Word of God is living and effective, not an extra burden, but an extra help. Our God will give you wisdom and intelligence.

So, everyone should think about this. Why do I advocate this concept so much? This is not what I am saying, this is what the Bible says. Many people think what I am saying is wrong. But, brothers and sisters, you must know that if someone gives you a faith that is an extra burden, do you want it? I do not want it. I think about why it is effective in my life. Today, I am sharing about this. It is not only effective in my life, but also effective in the lives of many people I minister to. Later, the people I minister to also go to minister to others, and it is also effective in the lives of those they minister to. Then I have to ask, why is it sometimes effective and sometimes ineffective?

Today, let us read the scripture, Hebrews Chapter 4, verse 12. We have been working on Hebrews recently. I once wrote a book called Striving to Enter into Perfection, which is a Bible study on Hebrews. This book is very good.

Prayer

God, today, let your Word work in the heart of every brother and sister. When we hear your Word, let the faith within us allow your Word to be mixed with our faith. Lord, open our minds today. May you personally touch us, let our hearts be open to you, and receive your Word with faith. May your Word work in our hearts so that we can receive this living Word, and may our minds be opened to you, becoming a discerning person. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray! Amen!

Why did the author of Hebrews write this?

Everyone must know why the author of this book wrote these words. Because the author discovered in the era he was writing Hebrews that our Word of God is very effective, but sometimes it is effective and sometimes it is ineffective, which is very perplexing. The author of Hebrews also hoped that those who heard the Word of God but it was ineffective for them could re-experience God's grace. Later, the author of Hebrews discovered that belief and unbelief determined everything.

In fact, this principle is very simple. Many people confuse the Word of God to the extent that they cannot even understand the basic logical system. Today, I will give you an example. The Word of God is very effective, which is something we do not even need to think about, because that is what the Bible says. For example, someone might say: Evil spirits also have healing, and shamans also have healing, so healing comes from evil spirits, and we must be careful.

In fact, when we pray in the name of Jesus Christ and that person is healed, is that also healing from evil spirits? That would be strange. Their logic is that if evil spirits also have some healing, and temples also have some healing, then Christianity cannot have healing. Or if ChristianityHas healing, it may be from evil spirits. This logic is strange and does not make sense. Because our God is a God who heals, what does the Bible say?

And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well. (Mark 16:17-18)

This does not deny that evil spirits also have some healing things happening, and evil spirits also have some miraculous things happening. This does not contradict those things. If it is said that there is healing in temples and there is healing from evil spirits, then deny that our God has healing, this is not logical. Why is it not logical? Because they do not believe. For example, the author of Hebrews also described some people working very hard and not seeing God's blessing. In the preceding paragraph, he described the matter of rest. I will solve it one by one later, that is, whether believing in the Lord can solve our work and study problems.

In earlier years, I had some concerns about whether these people who come here to pray every day would delay their work or study. Even today, some people among us still think so. Later, I observed carefully and saw that they were all very excellent in the workplace. These people did not delay their work at all. This was strange. So much time is spent on serving, so much time is spent on Bible study and prayer, how did they not delay their work? How were their studies not delayed? This includes my son, whose homework was not finished. At this time, he came to church with me to worship our God. Later, my son missed a perfect score on his university entrance exam by only two points.

Does this solve problems at work? Solved. Does it solve study problems? Solved. Does it solve problems in life? Also solved. If a person already works very hard then add a burden of cross, isn't that making things even harder? Isn't it? A person is not enlightened, does not thrive at anything, and then finds that the Word of God we believe in seems to be ineffective. Why is it ineffective for these people? Simply because of unbelief inside. Those who do not believe inside will gain nothing.

In earlier years, there were two brothers who seemed to love God very much. At that time, our church used all public holidays for prayer, and they also attended. But one thing that was strange was that after they graduated from college, they had a very hard time finding a job. In those days, it should have been easy, but a month, two months, half a year, and even nine months passed before they found a job, and the job was not very good. I asked God at that time: God, how could this be? Later I knew that God had not been wrong. Because God said this:

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12 NIV)

It turned out that these people were playing tricks with God. At that time, we could not see it very well. We only looked at the surface. These people were not stupid. Why was it so difficult for them to find a job? Later it was found that their faith was just a formality, they had their own set of ideas and did not think that believing in the Lord was their destiny.

The author of Hebrews also discovered this thing that some people after believing in the Lord, their studies, lives, and work are blessed, and many things are blessed; in other people, it is not like that, they live in hardship, and they are not enlightened in doing things. Therefore, the author of Hebrews discussed the matter of rest, being able to consecrate time to God is called rest. Many people think that by dedicating time to God, they will have less time to work, and if we work less, we will earn less money. In fact, it is not. Rest is the state in which we are blessed. This is why the author of Hebrews wrote this.

When we have faith in our hearts, many problems are solved, such as the problems of labor and worry, and the problem of curse. In fact, what people need most in life is blessing, so he wrote this passage of scripture. Do you believe in this passage of scripture that we are sharing today? I often tell our brothers and sisters: Put your work down. People challenge me: If I am holding a glass or a bowl in my hand, will you ask me to put it down? I said that if you put it down, it will definitely break. This is unbelief. We put down our work, enter into God, follow Him, and then we receive rest from God, our work will definitely not collapse.

That is what I do. I do not care if it is windy or rainy, or what kind of work it is. If I am busy, I will not be able to finish my work in 24 hours. As an ordinary Christian, I never miss Sunday services or Bible study in small groups. I believe that the Word of God is living and effective. So, over the years, from ordinary believer to pastor, I have found that this Word is really effective.

At that time, the author of Hebrews wrote this passage, that the Word of God must be mixed with our faith. For example, will your studies prosper? Do you believe? Will your work prosper? Do you believe? Will everything you do prosper? Do you believe? Because our faith is a faith that solves problems, our God can hold up the universe, can he not hold us up? If a person does not believe, is self-righteous, and is stiff, the Word of God has nothing to do with you. No matter how effective it is, it is ineffective in your life. The Word of God is living and effective, but it must be mixed with human faith.

Although the author of Hebrews did not sign his name, he very much hoped that people could obtain the benefits of this gospel. How to obtain it? You must have faith in your heart. This is why the author of Hebrews wrote this.

Learn a lesson from the Old Testament

A very interesting thing happened in the Old Testament. Moses brought the Israelites out of Egypt, which was a god-like operation. The Egyptian Pharaoh was the most powerful country at that time, the Egyptian Pharaoh's soldiers were the most powerful army in the world, the weapons were very advanced, and three million Israelites worked in Egypt, and the Egyptian economy completely relied on these three million Israelites. As a result, Moses said to bring the Israelites to the wilderness to worship their God. The Egyptian Pharaoh could not allow it. He thought: If you take all the Israelites away, what will happen to my economy? How will these Egyptians live?

Let's imagine that if half of the people in a city are taken away, the economy of this place would collapse. As a result, the Egyptian Pharaoh could not allow them to leave. God sent ten plagues in that generation. The Israelites saw with their own eyes how God punished the Egyptian Pharaoh, until finally he killed all the firstborn in Egypt, and the Egyptian Pharaoh and all the people in the land of Egypt cried out and begged the Israelites to leave Egypt, and even gave them jewelry.

They experienced these things, which were really unprecedented. As a result, they opened up to the wilderness. They looked ahead and saw that it was the Red Sea. The Egyptian Pharaoh saw that they had reached the Red Sea, and the Egyptian Pharaoh led his troops to pursue them. What did God do? God separated the Egyptians and the Israelites with a pillar of fire. The Egyptians could not get close to the Israelites. As a result, the Israelites crossed the Red Sea as if walking on dry land. They experienced many miraculous things. The Egyptian soldiers also entered the Red Sea. As a result, the sea water closed and drowned the Egyptian Pharaoh's soldiers.

The Israelites witnessed God's mighty arm leading them out of Egypt, how it parted the Red Sea, and how it sustained them in the wilderness, yet they hardened their hearts. Consider what the Bible says:

Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness, where your fathers put me to the test and saw my works for forty years. Therefore I was provoked with that generation, and said, ‘They always go astray in their hearts; they have not known my ways.’ As I swore in my wrath, ‘They shall not enter my rest.’” Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to depart from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. (Hebrews 3:7-13)

The evil habit of unbelief is deadly. We must learn a lesson from the Israelites' stubbornness, unbelief, and self-righteousness. Did God use His mighty hand to bring them out of Egypt into the wilderness? Yes. Did God intend to bring them to a land flowing with milk and honey? Yes. Why did they not enter, but die in the wilderness? Because they did not mix faith with what they heard.

I am also baffled by what these Israelites believed. What they said at the time was paradoxical: God brought us into the wilderness to kill us. Why would God kill them for no reason? That's what they thought, eating manna from heaven every day, and after eating the food God provided, they said God would strike them down. As a result, these people not only failed to enter the promised land but also died in the wilderness, with only Joshua and Caleb entering the promised land.

It is useless if we do not mix faith with the word we hear. If we have experienced God's mighty arm, we must be careful. As the scripture says:

For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they then fall away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt. For land that has drunk the rain that often falls on it, and produces a crop useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God. But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed, and its end is to be burned. (Hebrews 6:4-8)

If people experience God's mighty arm but still do not believe, they will fall in the wilderness and become people whom God despises. God is displeased with this generation because their hearts are constantly deceived. There are often deceived people among us. One sister had a stiff neck, and after I prayed for her, her neck loosened up. Three days later, when I saw her, she said she had not experienced God. This surprised me. There are many such people, and this is very interesting.

It is not difficult for us to obtain the benefits of the gospel today, because we will surely experience God's wonderful grace through faith, from faith to faith. The word of God that we hear is living and powerful. If we do not believe, it will be from unbelief to unbelief, and the word of God will have nothing to do with you. We must know for sure that God has given unbelievers many graces and opportunities. Unbelief is unreasonable. What the Israelites experienced in the wilderness sounds unreasonable, like being brain-damaged. Even now, I cannot understand what these people are thinking. They insist on unreasonable things, and that is stubbornness.

In recent years, I have ministered to some people who have experienced great grace. One child's mother came to me because her child only played video games. He went to university for three years, and although he graduated, his grades were the worst in the school. I also know as a manager that I would not hire such a student. Such a graduate is a useless person. But as a pastor, when her mother brought her child, I felt troubled. What should I do?

I started to train the child from scratch. At that time, his condition was terrible, and he could not sleep. We led him through healing and deliverance and trained him to write resumes and interview. Later, God blessed him with a job. But after getting the job, the child did not recognize me when he saw me. I became a stranger. After several years, the child's mother also became a stranger when she saw me. I do not understand. What grace is greater than God's grace? Yet people have their own ideas.

Many people have their own ideas today. People will find a thousand and one reasons not to believe. For example, they see a flaw in me, but this flaw cannot affect the grace I minister among them. Can flaws be compared with grace? People choose not to believe and leave, and I will not call them back. People can always find something they are not satisfied with, just like the Israelites who died in the wilderness. Their thoughts are different from God's thoughts. They think they can enter the promised land with a snap of their fingers, but God's thought is to bring them to the wilderness and create a lot of problems.

They think this is to make fun of them, to play with them, and they do not believe. After finally coming out of Egypt, they thought to themselves, How are you going to play with us? They wanted to go back to Egypt. They hoped to enter the promised land with a snap of their fingers. Many Christians are like this. Later, I found that those who have this desire are probably religious Huangpizi. They say, God, why are you so troublesome? They have their own set of ideas: Want to take me to the promised land? Just blow away the people of Canaan, and then we can stroll in, how nice. But God does not do this. God says, You people have to take up knives and guns and drive them away. As a result, many people say, How troublesome, will people not die in war? But God's way of doing things is different from man's way of doing things.

Today, can our brothers and sisters learn a lesson from the Old Testament Bible? Are you the Christians in Old Testament Bible who died in the wilderness, or are you like Caleb and Joshua who entered the promised land? You have to ask yourself.

Today's testimony is very good. A person begins to serve, and in serving, he receives grace. Numbers says that only those who can fight count, and only grown and mature Christians count. If they are not yet grown and mature, and their minds have not been trained to be clear, and they cannot distinguish between good and bad, that is, they are often confused in their hearts, then let them be confused. Do not think that God loves all people, even these Christians who often die in the wilderness and are confused. God loves you, but He is disgusted! Looking at this kind of person is annoying, and I am also annoyed by this kind of person, but thank God for giving me a heart of patience. That is, I look forward to people being able to walk out of the confusion every day, whether they can see the works of God, and whether they can know the works of God for 40 years.

Learning to Be a Smart Person

Learning to be a smart person is to watch God's actions. There are quite a few of God's actions to watch among us. It is very important to watch God's actions. Among us, if we want to say that we have not experienced God's grace, it is almost a rare occurrence. Unless you are a very Mingding Destiny person, that is extra grace. Even if you are a very Mingding Destiny person, he will definitely experience God's grace. It is difficult for you not to experience God's grace among us. Can you summarize God's laws and some very meaningful conclusions?

Is the word of God living and powerful? Is the word of God faster than any two-edged sword, even piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart? Can we come to such a concept that we need God for the rest of our lives?

Our work, our business, our life, and our studies all need God. Do we need to open our minds, operate in faith, and grow a little bit every day? What's the hurry? We always want to be impetuous. When we are anxious, we become Huangpizi. Later, I found that people need to open their minds. Opening their minds requires removing the bad habits of Huangpizi, religion, and making falsehoods, and requires changing our minds.

There are many people among us who have various strange bad habits. They look down on what they can do, and they cannot do what they look up to. They drag on day after day, and finally become procrastinators. As a result, they are anxious when they do things. There is no feeling of rest inside. Then some people are busy every day. A brother was ministered to and got a little better, so he was busy making money and disappeared. Later, I found out that he was not busy making money, but busy losing money. After being busy for a year, he lost a lot of money.

People are like this. Can they deal with the impetuous mentality inside, follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and grow a little bit every day? Can they learn to carefully reflect on themselves? Then learn to reflect on themselves and turn the mistakes they have made in the past into our wisdom. A fall into the pit, a gain in your wit, two falls into the pit, two gains in your wit. Many people just do not reflect, just do not have time. In the end, they create a lot of trouble. Can they learn to use faith? We must know that when we do not have faith, we will be busy and anxious. Can they come out of this Huangpizi?

There was a brother among us who took the driver's license test. He took the test five or six times. Why? Every time I told him to write down the points for getting points on the driver's license test, but he did not write them down. As a result, he failed the test and was defeated. Then he took the test again and was defeated again. You should write it down. The last time, I was even more surprised that he thought a three-point turn was parking. There were too many funny things. I said, What are you busy with? Can you calm down and fix this matter? Later, I found out that Huangpizi was behind it.

People are not clear in their understanding because there are bad habits in people. In fact, ghosts live in people's habits. Ghosts live in people's habits, so we must first receive in our minds, know that this is the way it is, and then begin to deal with the bad habits inside us. After dealing with and releasing, the evil spirits will manifest, and people will be released. For those who play fakes, especially, there will be a reaction once they manifest and are released. A few days ago, many people had nosebleeds when they were being released. The nosebleeds flowed out for no reason. Later, I found that many people who were controlled by Huangpizi had nosebleeds when they were released.

One sister was released and got a good job today. What does this release have to do with? Learn to use faith. A person with faith is not in a busy state. Work slowly, and the sky will not fall. In your situation, the sky has not fallen. We slow down, and then learn to use faith to receive the word of God. The word of God is living and powerful. If we eliminate all the evil spirits in us, how can people not live well? Do we have time to be busy, but have no time to rest? Therefore, we must escape from busyness today. Busyness is a curse. Busyness is unbelief. It is a very bad habit.

I feel very uncomfortable when I see those who like to be busy and live in a curse. It is very important to arrange things well and not be anxious. If people have rest, they do not have to be afraid. Because God holds all things in the universe with His mighty hands, and He also holds your life with His all-powerful hands. What a Christian competes for is not how much time he spends in it, but efficiency, the ability to seize the essence, creativity, and God's blessing, not a curse.

Sometimes, I get anxious when I see these people. I said, Are you busier than Daniel? Daniel is the Daniel in the Bible.
