【Sermon】- You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you!

2025-08-31 26

Introduction

Good day, everyone. Today, I will be sharing a topic that I particularly enjoy. When I read this passage, I was overjoyed. Why? How can one not be happy after experiencing God's goodness? Are there any among us who have not experienced God's goodness? Very few. All who have experienced God's goodness, tasted the grace of the Lord, know that He is good. In Jesus Christ, with God as our Lord, we receive so many benefits. I will enumerate how many benefits there are: "My goodness is nothing apart from you."

No matter how devout you are, you will always struggle between seeking benefits from God and seeking them from the world. Even after receiving benefits, you may still waver. If you haven't received any benefits, there's no need to waver; you've already swung over to the world. That struggle, I tell you, is very arduous.

In this struggle, we tell God, "God, protect me, for I take refuge in you. My heart, you have said to the Lord, 'You are my Lord; my goodness is nothing apart from you.'" Do you know in what state one says this? When in need of protection, right? When needing God's preservation, in a very difficult environment. In a difficult environment, what do you proclaim?

Some people, when faced with trouble, exclaim, "It's over, it's over, we're doomed." When trouble comes, we waver, "God, are you asleep? What are you doing? Can't you see me struggling here?" How could God not see? We must triumph in this struggle, which is called warfare.

Your heart may think one way or another, but in triumphing in this warfare, you will personally experience God's goodness. You will learn that just as God was my goodness before, He remains my goodness now. My goodness is nothing apart from Him; I do not seek goodness outside of the Lord God. Either you seek goodness from power, from relationships, or from God. How real is this struggle? Do I, as a pastor, have this struggle? Oh, often. But each time, I declare like David, "You are my Lord; my goodness is nothing apart from you." I will look to you, look to you; this is my Mingding Doctrine.

A sister wrote a testimony, which her pastor sent to me. She said she had always loved money, loved it dearly. She used to be an accountant, counting other people's money all day long. Counting other people's money is hard work. You sit at the bank counter, and someone wants to withdraw two hundred thousand, they have two hundred thousand, but you don't have two hundred thousand in your own account. Isn't that hard? You're counting other people's money. Loving it, loving it, loving it, she ended up with two hundred thousand in debt.

When I say this, I believe many will resonate. Resonate with what? "Oh, I also love money." How much debt has your love produced? "I love money so much that I have two hundred thousand in debt." "I love money so much that I have sixty thousand in debt." "I love money so much that I have a million in debt."

I ask you, can you usually accrue two hundred thousand in debt just from going to work? It's because you seized an opportunity. When people see a chance to get rich, they feel they can't miss it. Borrow money! Fortunately, the bank lent it to them. But you have to pay it back, right? Then you realize it wasn't an opportunity, but a trap.

Opportunities and traps are worlds apart, aren't they? One misjudgment and you're back to square one. Two misjudgments and you're back to before creation, to emptiness and chaos. Fortunately, you only went back to square one, there's still a chance. What happened? A few years ago, about a year or two, she came to the church, "Pastor Liu's preaching is so good. You can't love money; if you love money, you can't love God. Loving money is not honorable; not only is it not beneficial, but it becomes a debt." She felt this deeply.

Do you feel it? Yes, right? Many among us feel this way. Some have just climbed out of a pit, sold their house, and then jumped back in, another opportunity lured them in. Why? Because they waver, waver, waver, "Do I get benefits in Jesus, or from money? Benefits in Jesus? Ah, forget Jesus, I must seize this opportunity." But seizing it leads to tens of thousands in debt. That's how sorrow comes, isn't it? Either you take money as your benefit, or you take God as your benefit.

Later, after completing the required courses, she began to feel, "Oh, I must rely on God; God is my benefit." Do you think you can get benefits from God without being serious? You can't be unserious. Some of our brothers and sisters, after being reborn and receiving benefits, still don't tithe. It's because they're foolish, not knowing that tithing is blessed. Remember, the tithe belongs to God; if you keep it in your hand, it becomes something devoted to destruction. You're only grabbing opportunities, with no time to tithe.

Holding onto the correct concept of tithing, by last week, this sister had only ten thousand left of her two hundred thousand debt. I ask you, is tithing worth it or not? Ponder it slowly. This sister has tasted the sweetness; thank the Lord. Then another opportunity came, there's something online called auction information, and she was tempted, wanting to borrow money again. Her mind was full of bidding on that information, bidding it down and then reselling it to others. Whether you can resell it to others is unknown, but they clearly bid it to you.

I said, "How can you not learn a lesson?" Her mind was full of auction information. I tell you, once you bid, the buyer disappears, because it's a trap. There's no such easy money, is there? It's all a trap! Thinking about this auction information, her heart was in turmoil, struggling, wavering.

This time, seeing the call, she almost wavered again, almost rushed in, which would have been troublesome. The two hundred thousand debt would have returned, and she still had ten thousand left to pay off. Remember, everything is a chain. Then her heart was in turmoil, constantly struggling, struggling, struggling, and then she remembered, "Pastor Liu taught me this, this, and this."

I really encourage everyone, you must think it through clearly. I'm not deceiving you; what would I gain from deceiving you? I want you to come out of that concern. I want you to receive benefits from God; I want you to become a blessed person. Thinking and thinking, she set the Lord before her. Remember, don't set me before you; it's useless. I don't have that power to ward off evil; only God does. With Him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

In the end, she didn't waver; the devil couldn't deceive her. She didn't waver because God's word was in her. Last week, her insurance premium was refunded, and she had no more debts. Oh my goodness, I tell you, having no debt is truly comfortable.

Do you know that feeling of not being in debt? Have you ever felt that? The feeling of going from being in debt to no longer being in debt, oh my goodness, it's so good, like eating a full course meal. A sister told me, "Poverty is debt, cold is the wind."

When I was a child, my parents were in debt, raising five children was not easy. Each one ate like a little pig, one after another. Grabbing chopsticks, they could finish twenty pancakes in one go, all during their growing years. Cold is the wind, poverty is debt. Saving money, saving ten thousand, saving twenty thousand, the feeling is not obvious. Saving a hundred thousand, two hundred thousand, the feeling is not obvious. But paying off debt, the feeling is very obvious, isn't it? Thank God.

David, who wrote Psalm 16, was also a person of flesh and blood like us. Constantly struggling for benefits, "My throne, my throne, my throne." No, no, no. "My God, my God, my God." "My throne, my throne." Struggling every day, very arduous. So he said, "God, please protect me." Protect what? Protect my heart from straying, protect me from being self-righteous, protect me from slipping into debt.

The first struggle was David being hunted. I ask you, how does it feel to be hunted? It's not being chased for debt, it's being chased for your life. Being chased for your life, hiding here and there all day long, isn't that hard? How could it not be hard? You're openly making money, and it's still hard. This secretly making money is incredibly hard.

"God, is this a benefit?" I ask you, would he say that? "God, please spare me this benefit," right? But Saul hunted him not because he had done anything wrong. It was because Saul was narrow-minded. The people were chanting, "Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands." Even the old women on the streets were still shouting, shouting David into being hunted. He would think, "It's those old women, so annoying." But being annoyed is useless, he was still being hunted.

I tell you, this is the hardest time, because no matter what you do, it doesn't add up, does it? It doesn't add up! "I am clearly the anointed one, why am I being hunted?" I share a concept with everyone, never make negative declarations. I tell you, you can kill me, but I will not make negative declarations. "Oh, I lost my job, lost my income, it's very hard."

I contribute money and effort to build the church, even if I build it wrong, the method is wrong, but my attitude is right, isn't it? The pursuit within me is not to get something for myself, but to give something to God. "God, why did you make me unemployed?" I never say such words. I often say, "God, you are my God, my goodness is nothing apart from you."

Although I tell God this with tears, I will never utter blasphemous words, words that blame God. So David was struggling, very struggling. But he said, "God, protect me, protect me from Saul's pursuit. God, I take refuge in you. I have not greatly complained about you, nor have I dared to complain about you. I have only one choice, to say that you are my Lord, my goodness is nothing apart from you. Even being hunted is from God, my goodness is nothing apart from you."

It sounds unreasonable, but I tell you, later David became the king of Israel. This is training, the refinement of faith. In a bad situation, you declare faith, and you will find that your goodness is truly nothing apart from God.

The second struggle, David had six hundred soldiers who could fight. Each one with a family, a couple with a child, that's three times. 3x6=18, 1800 people. Then with elderly mothers and fathers, that's three to four thousand people. Three to four thousand mouths, three to four thousand mouths chewing, each one can chew through half a kilogram, right? Each one can chew through half a kilogram, that's more than three thousand kilograms a day. Where to get it? Where does the food come from?

The first struggle was being hunted, the second struggle was where the money comes from. Where does the money come from? What did David do? Several thousand people, where does the food come from? Who to do business with? There are still people hunting him, hard, very hard. Thank God, my goodness is nothing apart from you, God, you will provide for me.

If David were still alive today, and we sat down to calculate where the money came from, he wouldn't be able to calculate it. He really wouldn't be able to calculate it. You ask me? How our church has come to this day, the money doesn't add up no matter how you calculate it. It doesn't add up no matter how you calculate it, it's very miraculous, very miraculous.

It's not because we love money and love to tithe, it's that God truly provides for us. This kind of testimony happens again and again. You must know that I used to work, and the amount of budget I handled was very large. I especially liked spending money, spending public money. If you want to solve problems and do things right, how is it possible without spending money? Right? How much money have we spent now?

Later I thought, if I'm the only one working, why rent an office? That's not right, without an office, what does it look like? The whole office has to be rented, which costs money, but God provides. So later I had a habit, I like to do things right. Spend what needs to be spent. I tell you, our God is an extremely wealthy God.

In his writings, David mentioned that he led three thousand people, did he have money? No, God provided for him so abundantly. Later, how much did David donate? David donated hundreds of tons of gold. We don't need to say hundreds of tons, just tons, dozens of tons is also a lot of gold.

So much that he used gold to cover the walls. We decorate by painting this and that, but he used gold. You know? Using gold to carve beams and paint pillars, using gold to cover the walls. How do you calculate it? You can't calculate how this gold came from, can you? David wrote these words, "My goodness is nothing apart from you," which brought a lifetime of benefits. Although he wavered every day, thank God, he didn't slip out.

Our brothers and sisters' struggles are real struggles, but after experiencing them, you will find that money is not the problem. Thank God, if you have this kind of experience, then boast every day. God! My heart, you must say to God, "You are my Lord; my goodness is nothing apart from you."

The third struggle. Do you know when Psalm 16 was written? It was written when David had the opportunity to kill Saul. What kind of opportunity was that? Saul suddenly had diarrhea, oh, his stomach hurt. Where to relieve himself? Let's relieve himself there. Did someone bring a toilet? Ah? No one brought a toilet. There's a cave here, I'll relieve myself there. I'm just telling a story, I wasn't there. Stories are told like this.

There, ugh, it stinks. Actually, the weakest moment for a person is during excretion. Whether it's a person or an animal, a beauty or a handsome man, they all defecate and urinate. If David had used his sword then, swish, he would have died unjustly. Killed with excrement on his buttocks, right? The struggle of whether to kill or not to kill, I ask you, is there a struggle? Definitely.

The people next to him, "Kill him, kill him, kill him." He struggled with this, "Kill him, kill him," but didn't. He is God's anointed, he is the king. If I kill him, I can be king. I ask you, is there a struggle? No more being chased, no more worrying about feeding three thousand men, how great would that be.

You know, the speed of David's calculations in his head, it's like an H100, I don't even know what it is now, all those A100 H100 graphics card computing power. Pa pa pa pa pa pa, like a movie playing in his head, such a struggle. What kind of movie can you play? Either I get benefits from God, or I use the sword in my hand to kill him and get benefits, but if I kill Saul, I become Saul.

You know, Saul had mental illness, Saul lived a very painful life. Did everyone know? David once worked under Saul and witnessed Saul's tragedy firsthand. So what did he say?

Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more. I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods or take up their names on my lips. (Psalm 16:4)

I will absolutely not exchange the kingship for God's benefits. If I kill him, I will live like Saul in the future. If I rely on my God and get benefits from God, I will live a life of peace and joy. Why should I be as miserable as Saul? Why should I invite a demon to descend upon me?

Choosing again and again, David made the right choice. He cut off the edge of Saul's robe. Do you think it was really as simple as cutting off the edge of Saul's robe? It was a fierce battle, so after he cut off the edge of the robe, he regretted it. "Oh, I almost killed him." A white blade going in, a red blade coming out, and I would have become Saul. I cannot use the kingship to exchange for God's benefits, am I stupid? I cannot use money to exchange for God's benefits, nor can I use power to exchange for God's benefits.

Coming back, it wasn't regret for cutting off a piece of clothing, it was that David almost slipped. I ask you, do many brothers and sisters among us have this feeling? That feeling is so tearing. Human nature, right? Don't challenge human nature, understand? I'm telling you, this kind of struggle, everyone in the world has it.

I have a decision inside, I learned a lesson, and to this day I don't do business with church members. No financial dealings with church members, I just give out. Remember, you are offering to God, it has little to do with us. When you offer, God gives you blessings, then you are making a good deal. So never do business with church members, never get benefits from church members, my benefits are not apart from God, and to this day I always give out. Have I lacked? No.

Because my benefits are not apart from God. Saul's mental illness, a demon descended upon him. I tell you, David went home and thought about it, "God, I almost did it." Actually, if you open your spiritual eyes, that demon was stimulating David, a white blade going in, a red blade coming out, seizing the kingship. "Oh, I almost invited a demon in." Do you want to be wholeheartedly good? Do you want to get benefits solely from God? Is there a struggle? Is there wavering? So David said,

Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance. I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. (Psalm 16:5-7)

Although the story is told, when I read it, do you have that feeling inside David?

Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay. You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. (Psalm 16:9-11)

Thank God! If you and I have the same feelings as David, then you are blessed, God will show us the path of life, guide us. So David wrote Psalm 16. Although there is no historical record of when Psalm 16 was written, according to what I told you, piecing it together, the picture is very clear, that's how it is. If not, we have no way to verify it.

Scripture

Okay, let's read this time's scripture. We will only read two verses of Psalm 16.

Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge. I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.” (Psalm 16:1-2)

Prayer

God, may you keep our hearts, may you be gracious to us, lead us. May you always guide us before us. You are my God, our benefits are not apart from you. Please save us from all temptations, all seductions. Let us, in the knowledge of this benefit, no matter how much struggle we go through, my heart still says, "My benefits are not apart from you." You are my everything, you are my inheritance, and you will surely sustain me. You will surely provide for all that my body needs, according to your good will, good plan, may it all be accomplished in me.

Let my heart not deviate, let me hold on to you forever, until I see your face. God, may I receive your praise when I see your face. May I, when I am in this world, not give the enemy an opportunity to blaspheme your name. Let us all glorify your name when we are in this world. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Scripture Background

Saul was chasing David, and then when Saul was defecating there, David cut off a corner of his robe. I'm telling you, at that time, it was such a scene, a sword stretched out, the heart was pounding. Does everyone have this feeling? Oh, the heart is so turbulent. Then he took the sword back, then he stretched the sword out again, boom boom boom, then he took the sword back again. Oh, this worry, worrying about my heart, boom boom boom, killing Saul.

Do you think David was protecting himself? It was God who protected him. Later he let Saul go, right? In his heart, "Oh, I'm done, I have to run away again, I have to continue to be chased, this life is really not good." But I tell you, even so, I will not personally seize my kingship. That kingship belongs to me, but I will not seize the kingship. God is my inheritance, the kingship is not. God is my inheritance, God is my everything, my benefits are not apart from God.

After he came back, he was afraid, not only regret, but also fear. He almost became another Saul. God is David's king, David's Lord, right? Then Saul is the king placed above David by God, the Lord above David. He is God's anointed, you have no right to touch him, right? Whether God wants him to die is God's business, God takes care of it himself, you don't need to help God. "God, when will you let that Saul die?" David never thought like that. David is not like that. After Saul died, David buried Saul with honor and also wrote a poem.

If you look closely at this David, he made a decision: Where exactly are your benefits? Where exactly are the benefits of a person's life? Among us, many benefits are in money, so they are in debt, right? If the benefits are in money, then they are in debt. So our brothers and sisters must know, where exactly are your benefits?

Does everyone know that a person's core interests are not easy to change? Ignorance can be taught, but core interests are difficult to change. If a person takes eating, drinking, and having fun as his Mingding Doctrine, his core interest is eating, drinking, and having fun, you cannot change it. If a person's core interest is his work, actually it's not work, it's money, because work represents money. So if you affect him, if you cut off his financial path, you are like killing his parents.

Brothers and sisters, where are your benefits? This is a core question, where are your benefits? My benefits are in God. Your benefits are in your business, so your business is your life. Your benefits are in your work, so work is your life. Your benefits are in your husband, so your husband is your life. Now everyone understands, right?

Why did David say, "Apart from you I have no good thing"? David doesn't look for anything else outside. I'm telling you, David is amazing. How amazing is David? He believes that benefits are not apart from God, not even beauties are apart from God. Although David married several wives, if you want to imitate David, don't imitate this part. In short, all his benefits are not apart from God.

Can you imagine? Later I ask you, David killed Uriah and married Bathsheba, what did the prophet Nathan say? The prophet Nathan conveyed God's words to David, saying, "Is what I gave you not enough? Why do you have to do sneaky things? Why do you have to get another woman outside of the Lord God? Is what I gave you not enough?" See how powerful these words are.

So I want to tell you, this is a poem David wrote while he was fleeing. After almost killing Saul, after this time, he once again reminded his own heart. Like I said, write down your testimony, read it often, don't forget it all, just remember other people's evil. David wrote Psalm 16 to remind himself:

I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.” Psalm 16:2

One day in the future, my heart, you must still say to the Lord, "You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing." Whenever benefits are outside of the Lord God, that's when trouble comes. So Bathsheba was outside of the Lord, and as a result, the sword never left David's house, now understand?

God is my inheritance, God is my core interest, this is David's declaration. Can you understand? I tell you, whether you want to build relationships with people or do anything, examine their core interests. If their core interest is money, it is very dangerous to be with them. They will not put money in your pocket. Their core interest is money, and then they put money in your pocket, is there such a thing?

All brothers and sisters must know, why are we blessed? Because our benefits are not apart from God. Why do you tithe? Because your money comes from God, so our core interest is God. If our core interest is God, money is not a problem, slowly you will figure it out. I am reading these words to you now, and then experience this feeling.

**Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge. I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.” I say of the holy people who are in the land, “They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight.” Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more. I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods or take up their names on my lips. Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.

**I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay. You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Psalm 16:1-11

God is my Lord, apart from you I have no good thing

People are very interesting, actually people need to know that they are people. When people know that they are people, no matter if you weigh a hundred pounds, a hundred and twenty pounds, a hundred and eighty pounds, or a two-hundred-pound fatty, if you put it on a scale, that's all it is. No matter how you weigh it, you can't weigh out what you can do, can everyone decide? I have to tell you, dispel this idea for you. Why? Because you are bouncing well on Earth, but what happens?

As a result, I tell you, you don't decide what kind of life a person lives. Never envy those rich people, it's really not because they did anything right, and don't underestimate those poor people, it's not because they did anything wrong. I tell you, it's all operations in the spiritual realm. So after the operation, what do you do? Make people look dizzy, and think they are very powerful, that one is also very powerful, this one is the richest, that one is the richest.

Actually, so-and-so used to do business so big, but after a few years of glory, the whole situation took a sharp turn, and as a result, these people were in a mess. That current mess is not because of their stupidity, nor was that previous glory because of their intelligence, it has nothing to do with them. That is to say, it has nothing to do with you either. Then what does it have to do with? It has to do with everything in the spiritual realm. Don't think they are amazing. You know there is a little story that is very good. What does this little story say? So-and-so married a beauty, and then they separated. So-and-so also married a beauty, and they also separated.

Why the separation? No matter how beautiful a woman is, she still defecates and urinates, and it smells just as bad. There was a very wealthy man, and this woman married him, but later left. Another very wealthy man, she also married him, and also left. Why? Because they discovered that he also defecates and urinates, and the way he does it is just like that, isn't it? Just like that, and it smells quite bad, not much better.

One must know that they are just a person, unable to determine their own destiny. Don't think that just because someone is a high-ranking official, they don't defecate and urinate, or that a beautiful woman doesn't defecate and urinate, right? So, what's the problem? The problem is, if a person knows that they are just a person, unable to control their own destiny, what should they do? God is my Lord, my good is not found apart from Him. Isn't that right? So, David understood this very clearly. David was very clear: I killed Goliath, do you think that was my own ability? It was God who helped me, that's the correct logic.

A sister once told me, "Pastor, do you know? Recently, I enjoy listening to Zeng Shiqiang's lectures and I especially like reading Inamori Kazuo's books." I said, "Do you know how they died?" They both died of cancer. Everyone thinks they were very great, but I think they were just people, just like you and me, people who defecate and urinate.

Defecating and urinating is a big deal, isn't it? If someone curses another, they might say, "Look at him, he was born without an anus." That curse means they can't defecate or urinate, and eventually they'll suffocate to death. So, since people cannot control everything, they must know the God who created the universe. He created us, and what is His purpose for us? He wants us to find good in Him.

Do you think you can give God some good? You can only receive good from God, you understand what I'm saying, right? Because God's will is inherently that our good is not found apart from Him, we find good in Him. You are my God, if I don't find good in You, where else would I find good? If I find good in others, You wouldn't be pleased, would You?

Goodness One: God is My Inheritance.

"The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot. The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance." (Psalm 16:5-6)

You say God is our inheritance, so what did God measure out for David? God measured out the land of Israel for David, he was to be king. His profession was king. So, "The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot." I am not yet king, but God holds it for me, God is keeping it for me. So, my throne and my crown are in God's hands, You hold them for me, and one day You will give them to me.

God is what I pursue, I must love the Lord my God with all my heart and all my strength, everything I have comes from God. Why is it called an inheritance? What is an inheritance? Those who study accounting know, there are assets and liabilities. God is our inheritance, meaning God is our asset. The devil is our liability, or our flesh is our liability. You think this is your asset, that is your asset, but neither is, God is.

If God is your inheritance, God did something very great, He measured out a boundary for you with a line. The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance. Our brothers and sisters must know that God is our inheritance, God is our asset. Can it be eaten? Can it be spent like money? Assets, do you understand? This asset is very valuable. It's not referring to money, it refers to a broader scope.

Goodness Two: God is the God Who Instructs Me

"I bless the Lord who gives me counsel; in the night also my heart instructs me." (Psalm 16:7)

God is the God who instructs us. When David wanted to kill Saul, God instructed him that it was not right. How did He instruct him? By making your heart pound, making you feel uncomfortable, making you feel bad inside. In fact, David cut off the edge of Saul's robe, originally intending to kill him, one more stab and it would have been over. Saul would have been killed with feces on his buttocks.

But he couldn't bring himself to do it, so he just cut off a piece of his clothing, that's the logic. So, I will bless, I bless the Lord who gives me counsel; in the night also my heart instructs me. Do you understand now? When he does something bad at night, his heart pounds. Isn't that how it is? I am giving a very straightforward explanation.

Goodness Three: I Shall Not Be Moved

"I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken." (Psalm 16:8)

I tell you, a person who is easily shaken is like a weathercock their whole life, blowing east with the east wind, blowing west with the west wind. People drift around, without stability. But I have set the Lord always before me. What does that mean? God, what kind of things do You want me to do? Now You instruct me, You are my inheritance, You are everything to me, I just want to please You.

God, are You pleased with this matter? If You are not pleased, I won't do it. Even if I kill Saul and get the throne, living like a madman, I don't think it's meaningful. I still need You, You are everything to me, You are my goodness. So, people living in the flesh are often shaky, they just slip away. So, I shall not be moved, I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken, these words are truly well said.

Goodness Four: My Heart is Glad, My Spirit Rejoices

Therefore my heart is glad and my spirit rejoices. David was a smart man. Let me remind you, what's the point of living a life without joy? Some people need to eat, drink, and have fun to be joyful! Some people are joyful even if they do nothing! Which one do you think is better? Of course, I think it's better to be joyful even if you do nothing, to be joyful every day, to be joyful even when you're exhausted. Without good food or drink, just a little wine and some pickles, and I'm joyful. Do you understand?

If a person is depressed their whole life, just a depressed life, would you want that? If a person is joyful, joyful every day, just a joyful life. Actually, people don't live for external things, but for internal feelings. If God is my inheritance, He is the God who instructs me, I rely on Him, I shall not be moved. What's the result? The result is good, my heart is glad and my spirit rejoices, that feeling in life is truly good.

I am very happy, living a joyful life, no one can compare to me in this. I mean, within my circle of acquaintances, no one can compare to me. I am just joyful, you can't argue with that. Our brothers and sisters, tell me, where can you argue with that? I am just joyful, I just like joy, it infuriates those who are not joyful. But I say my heart is glad, my spirit rejoices. Money is taken away, my heart is glad, my spirit rejoices, my goodness is in God.

I don't live by money, I live by God, this is my destiny. If everyone can receive these words, you are blessed. People should be joyful in life. The thing I hate the most is creating trouble for no reason, eating and drinking well and then finding something to be entangled with. Some small matter, how could you treat me this way, how could you say that, what about going back on your word, things like that. If you go back on your word, so be it, if you reverse it, so be it, if you correct it, so be it. There's no need to fall out, no need to freak out, no need to go crazy.

I thank God, no one can take away the blessings God has given me. No one can take away the joy within me. Although I shed tears and sweat, I am joyful inside. I am so happy to see my brothers and sisters receive goodness. I would rather see my brothers and sisters receive goodness than receive goodness from them. Because my goodness is not found apart from God. I want to be a blessing to everyone. And because of this, I do my best before God, like the Apostle Paul.

Goodness Five: My Flesh Also Will Dwell Secure

People often prepare for their flesh in life, why do they need money in the bank? To spend when they retire. Isn't that right? But the question is, can the flesh dwell secure? Can money solve the problem? No, but God is my healer, He is the God who provides for me, my goodness is not found apart from Him.

Now I think about how to make my brothers and sisters more valuable, how to bring my brothers and sisters into more of God's blessings. Why? Because I lack nothing. God is my provider. In 2011, we solved the first thing for the flesh to dwell secure, called healing and deliverance. I wrote a book called "Like Jesus Did Healing and Deliverance." It summarizes the theoretical foundation of my entire healing and deliverance ministry over those years.

People feel uncomfortable, do you know why they feel uncomfortable? If they are sick, how can they not feel uncomfortable? Weak legs, dizzy eyes. When I was lying in bed during the COVID, I found that the light bulb on our ceiling, about the size of a fist, looked as big as a basketball. I thought, "Oh no, my eyes are seeing things wrong." Then, you know, I wanted to use the computer keyboard to access online banking, but when I typed, it went to the wrong place, that was really strange. The letters on the keyboard might not have been what I was seeing, I couldn't do it no matter what.

Thank God, God is the God who heals me, my flesh also will dwell secure. You say that running around in the wilderness, the plague did not come upon David, right? The living conditions and hygiene conditions were very bad, they couldn't eat, they didn't know where their next meal was coming from. But I tell you, my flesh will dwell secure. Now our brothers and sisters must let go of everything, all diseases must be healed.

I think some brothers and sisters don't know, they always look for goodness in the hospital. They look for goodness in medicine, they look for goodness in the hospital, let them look. Because diseases are all spiritual, but my flesh receives goodness in God, my flesh will dwell secure.

I wondered why I didn't die. Because God will cause my flesh to dwell secure. I tell you, I prayed desperately, anyway, I had nothing to do, lying there, no energy to live, so I prayed. This prayer was important, every day I burped and farted. I thought if I didn't burp and fart, I would be ruined, completely ruined. Thank God, burping and farting are God's created release.

Goodness Six: You Will Not Abandon My Soul to Sheol

You know, in David's heart, there was a concept of eternal life. He doesn't go to Sheol, he goes to God. Sheol is the underworld, hell, God is in heaven. So, you must know that the goodness of our God cannot be bought with money. Can money get you out of Sheol? You give the little demons some money, you give them some money, and they will let you go?

Originally, people in this world learned from demons, right? Bribery is learned from demons, the underworld is also like that. But the problem is, they take the money and don't do anything. Can they let you out of Sheol? They can only move you from this room to that room, or from this oil pot to another oil pot. From this BBQ to another BBQ, that's about all they can do. But our God will not abandon our souls to Sheol. So today, our brothers and sisters must have the concept of eternal life.

Goodness Seven: You Make Known to Me the Path of Life

Do you know where the path of life is? What exactly is the path of life? I tell you, the path of life includes not only eternal life but also this life. My heart is glad, my spirit rejoices, that is the path of life, the path of joy. When I am about to go astray, God will instruct me, that is the path of life.

I am not shaken, I am not deceived back to before liberation. I am not deceived back to the empty and chaotic state before creation. There is hope, and in this life, my flesh will dwell secure. And when I am alive, my spirit rejoices, my heart is glad, my spirit is joyful. How good!

I want to make a summary, those who choose another god instead of the Lord, their sorrows will be multiplied. Remember that is not the path of life, that is the path of destruction. Sorrows will be multiplied, money may cause you sorrow, power may cause you sorrow, but our God will not cause you sorrow. Do you understand?

So, if you want to walk this path, the greatest goodness you can obtain is not money, nor power, but life. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? But what we obtain today is not what money can bring us, but what God can bring us. Let us declare together, God, You are my Lord, my goodness is not found apart from You, I will hold on to You tightly. I will not leave You for all eternity, may God bless everyone, Amen!
