[Sermon] - But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing!

2025-08-24 0

Introduction

Today, I will continue to share about Psalm 34. The topic is "Those who seek the Lord lack no good thing." Over the years, I have had several very good summaries, all derived from observing the behavior of Christians in the church and their experiences.

My first summary is that I am an individual, a very small person, I am not capable, I need God. The logic is simple, because we really do not know whether disaster or tomorrow will come first. This is a very good summary, many of us need God too much. I have met many people who, when I talk to them about God, push back at me. When I talk about the spiritual realm, they push back at me. It is as if they are very powerful, but in reality, they are not powerful at all.

Secondly, when I come before God, I need to receive His benefits. I am not here to give God any benefits, this is very important, especially for us preachers. Why do I not feel tired when I serve God? I will never be burnt out. Because I come before God to receive benefits, I am not giving God any benefits.

I rarely say this to God, or basically never. God, look, I have attended the small group, I have come to the Sunday service, I have come to the prayer meeting, what more do you want from me? This is the most powerful saying in Taiwan, what more do you want from me! I dare not say this to God. Because once I think like this, the logic is wrong, and that is troublesome.

So I have concluded that coming before God is to receive God's benefits. Some people say, is this not too utilitarian? Hey, He is my God, I receive benefits from Him. Is there a problem with that? There is no problem at all. What can I give God? I cannot give Him anything, I can only happily and joyfully receive God's grace, and God likes me like this. God will think, who should I give these benefits to? Ah, he is quite good, give it to him. I will be such a person.

Thirdly, my destiny is not in my hands, I cannot control which day disaster will come. I cannot control anything. Among us, those who are hemiplegic, can you control it? Then you cannot control it, so do not try to control it. Death? Can you control it? You cannot control anything. So I tell you, these three points summarized are to learn to fear God and seek God while alive, and lack no good thing in life, seek the Lord and lack no good thing.

Do you know how I summarized these? It all comes from hitting a wall. I know my head is not harder than a wall, hitting the wall until my nose is bruised and my confidence is gone. Everyone must know that confidence and faith in God are two completely different kinds of faith. One is believing in yourself, and the other is believing in God. Later, I discovered that faith is a very magical thing. When you trust in God, you have strength, but when you trust in yourself, it is a bit troublesome. If you have not summarized it yet, then seek it.

Some people say, teacher, you are so smart, your brain must be messed up. If you want to say I am powerful, I am indeed powerful, I just trust in God. If you want to be like me and trust in God, I recommend someone to you, teacher, are you going to talk about yourself again? No, you should emulate David. David is like me, I emulate him.

If you think you are still quite capable, then it is troublesome. If you think you are still okay, you cannot walk the path of faith unless you think you are really not capable. Why do I have to hold on to God tightly? Do I have another choice? Do you think I have another choice? Ah, later I felt that believing in the Lord is really good, do not think I am very powerful, because believing in the Lord is what makes me powerful.

Why do people come to believe in the Lord? It is because you find that you have problems that you cannot solve. When you walk, you are always hemiplegic, limping, your legs cannot stretch, your arms do not work, your knees do not work. Your hips are not working well, your brain is not working well, your heart is not working well, your liver is not working well, your kidneys are not working well, your gallbladder is not working well. Is that right? Of course, I am not saying that everything is wrong with you, that would be the end.

So our brothers and sisters began to ponder, why do we come to believe in the Lord? If you are great, you do not believe in the Lord, you are an atheist, then you can slowly hit the wall. After hitting the wall, you will find that you are not capable. If you rely on yourself, then rely on it, good luck to you. But the problem is, some brothers and sisters feel that they are not capable, I already have insomnia, I have to seek the Mingding Doctrine. In the end, the insomnia is cured, and they say goodbye.

Then if you have insomnia again in the future, or memory loss? Insomnia is easy to deal with, but if you have memory loss, you do not even know who you are. That would be troublesome. I tell you, once the environment is good, it is over, you think you are great again. This is especially evil, especially for those who are not capable, they always think they are quite great.

So we emulate David, what is he great at? He is great at the poems he wrote when he was a teenager, and we sixty-year-olds still feel touched when we read them. A little kid in his teens, really amazing. In fact, he is so amazing because he trusts in God. How amazing is trusting in God? He defeated Goliath, who weighed more than three hundred kilograms, probably more than a ton. David, who weighed about sixty or seventy kilograms, defeated Goliath, who weighed a ton.

David, a teenager, wrote this poem when he was about seventeen years old, the age before going to university. What did he say?

I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. I will glory in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together. I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles.

The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Fear the Lord, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. (Psalm 34:1-10)

This is a poem that David wrote in a deserted cave in the wilderness. I was wondering what kind of person this is, fleeing for his life, having just experienced the valley of the shadow of death. What exactly did he experience? Let me tell you a story, give me some encouragement if it is not good.

David was particularly good at fighting, he could kill two hundred Philistines alone, how amazing is that? That is really amazing. Later, he became the king's son-in-law and became good friends with the king's son Jonathan. But King Saul was narrow-minded and always wanted to kill David.

Why? He heard a sentence that bothered him. The people were singing, why did you have to sing this? David said, do not sing it, do not sing it. That would not do, Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands, Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands, Saul was bothered listening to it. I will let you slay tens of thousands, I will kill you. Is that right? As a result, David desperately fled from Saul.

Saul wanted to kill him. What did I do? David was still wondering, what did I do? Just because those old women shouted a few sentences about David on the street, Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands, you want to kill me? Actually, this is also the truth, you really cannot beat Goliath. Was it not me who helped you defeat Goliath? David was still wondering. This would not do, the situation was too urgent, David ran away. I tell you, he was exhausted, sweating profusely.

Later, do you know what happened? David ran to a priest's place, he took Goliath's sword with him, and continued to flee. As he fled, he did not know what was going on in his head. Think about a seventeen-year-old child, what do you think a seventeen-year-old child knows? As a result, he ran around in circles, too tired and too nervous. Where did he run to? He ran to the Philistines' place. The Philistines had a deep impression of David. Hey, is this not the David who slew his tens of thousands while Saul slew his thousands?

Is this not the David who killed our giant Goliath? The time for revenge has come, go and inform King Achish. Oh, I tell you, that was also strange. Look at David, he was still carrying Goliath's sword on his waist, he came at the right time. As a result, someone brought David to King Achish. King Achish said: "Kill him, this is David." Oh, I tell you, David was scared, do you think so? What else could he do at that time except pray in his heart?

Where could we not have run to? He ran to the Philistines' place. Not long ago, he had killed Goliath and killed 200 Philistines, and then took their foreskins. This foreskin is not the skin of a sheep, it is the skin on the genitals. If this matter spread to the Philistines, some of those two hundred soldiers, not only lost their foreskins, but also lost their lives, killed by David, would not their wives and children hate David to death?

David was here, thinking in his heart that it was over, it was definitely over. It was this feeling, this feeling was too deep, it was over, this time my little life is over, what did I run here for, I have a problem with my brain, how did I run here, it is too late to regret. Do you think he ran to the wrong place? Saul wanted to kill him, and the Philistines also wanted to kill him.

As a result, he pretended to be crazy, God is too amazing. Actually, King Achish might have been feeling unwell at the time. He first put David in prison, and waited until my head was clear before dealing with him. But that did not happen, God made King Achish confused, what are you bringing a crazy person here for? Go, go, go! What are you bringing a crazy person here for? He drove David away, and David ran away as soon as he left the city gate. Oh my goodness, the words of praise to my God must be hidden in my mouth.

Do you know that children like to gallop when they walk? David ran forward with jumps and leaps, his life was saved, his life was saved. After saving his life, I tell you, he ran to the cave of Adullam. As a result, he saw, why did I run here, there are no facilities, no residential area, all I can see is a cave.

What to eat, Hainanese chicken rice? Or Haidilao? Let's fish in the cave, what can you fish for? There is no refrigerator, if you want to drink mineral water, if you want to drink cold water, there is no Coca-Cola. What did I come here for? If he was from Shaanxi, there would be no roujiamo, no pulled noodles, there are pulled noodles, actually almost died in Achish's hands, thanks to the Lord God for saving me.

I ask you, if God can save us from the hand of King Achish, God can save us from the hand of Goliath, God can save us from the hand of Saul, God can save us from all these difficulties, then are roujiamo, pulled noodles, and Hainanese chicken rice so important? Are facilities so important? Even in the wilderness, God will surely make a way for me. God is so amazing.

Later, David wrote this thirty-fourth psalm in the cave. What do you think there is in the cave? As long as there is God's presence, it is enough. Oh, although I ran to a place where birds do not even poop, or only have bird poop, I do not care. I want to seek my God, those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.

Would you say that? Arriving at a place where birds do not poop, barbecue, meat skewers, nothing. Would you say that those who seek the Lord lack no good thing? David saw that God saved him from the lion's hand, saved him from Saul's hand. Although in this place where birds do not poop, I still want to praise my God. Still say, those who seek the Lord lack no good thing, I think David is too amazing.

If it were an ordinary person, what a broken place? God, did you make a mistake? God, did you make a mistake? Can God make a mistake? God, where did you go? Why did you let this happen to me? What's wrong with you? Do you think you are perfect? Oh, a wise person does not speak evil words. I tell you, once a person speaks evil words, what are evil words? It is not believing in God's words, it is over.

Once you say words that you do not believe in, it is over, you must remember this sentence. I tell you, many of us ruin ourselves like this. For example, I lead him to pray, he hopes that the pastor who prays is anointed and powerful, and when he lays hands on him, he is struck down, and he feels an invisible force, and he falls down, and the illness is cured all at once.

If it does not get better all at once, he starts to ask: Why is it so slow? Why is it not better yet? Listen to these words, later I summarized a rule, this person's mouth is particularly corrupting. Like I lead a person to pray, I ask how is it? Still the same, still hurts, still hurts, still hurts. Why is it not better after so long? I led him to pray for an hour, and he said: "Why is it not better yet". It is over, this one hour is reset to zero. Why is it not better yet? He pressed a reset button. It is over, one hour is wasted, I really want to beat him up, you talk about this mouth.

I prayed with him for another hour, and he came back with, "Why isn't it better yet?" All that effort, two hours down the drain, back to square one. I led him in prayer for three hours, and still he asks, "Why isn't it better yet?" I said, "Please, can you not say such nonsense?" Wasted, all three hours. Those three hours were precious, gone. He slunk away, crestfallen. What was the point? The human tongue is so wicked.

So it is that when things go well, they forget God; when things go wrong, they blame God. They forget they are but men, insignificant, with no right to bargain with God. It is terrible, just plain bad luck.

We must learn from David. He fled to the cave, with no hope left. His only recourse was to constantly praise my God, His praise ever on my lips. Wonderful! What manner of man is this? A wise man, the world is not worthy of. I tell you, I learned from him. I toiled, built the church, gave my time and money, never resting. I worked all week, then led services on the weekend. In the process, I lost my job, became unemployed.

Oh, my heavens! I tell you, it was bitter, bitter to the core. Why? Because of the mortgage. No income, yet the mortgage still had to be paid. In Singapore, you pay last year's taxes this year. No income this year, yet you still have to pay last year's taxes. I had no idea where to turn.

I thought of David. What did David say? "Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies." I tell you, you could kill me, but I would not say, "God, I gave my time and money, why do you treat me this way?" I thought of David. How did God treat him? Was there a problem? No problem at all. God can treat me however He wishes, no problem whatsoever.

So, brothers and sisters, whatever the situation, praise our God. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. What was David brokenhearted about? What did David regret? Actually, there was nothing to regret, was there? Did David need to be sad? It would be false not to be. How good it was in the palace! Perhaps even the toilet was made of gold. Of course, things were not so advanced then. But in the cave of Adullam, it was convenient, no need to hide when relieving oneself.

So I tell you, in this life, we must learn this attitude. No matter the circumstances, my future is in God's hands. I seek Him. I have not sought Him enough. I do not know God well enough. But those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. My good is not apart from Him.

So David wrote a psalm, praising his God, his mind filled with how he escaped from Achish. God, You are so great, You can save me from the hand of Achish, You can save me from the hand of anyone. As long as I live, no enemy can stand before me, for You are my God, You are my everything. I will trust in You all my life. Blessed are those who take refuge in You.

Where was he? In the cave of Adullam. How could he say such things? If you do not say such things, I tell you, you will be even more discouraged. When facing difficulties, there is no strength within. If there is no strength, what do you do? Praise our God, trust in Him. How good it is!

So I tell you, people often use that foul mouth. As the saying goes, "A two-cent teapot is all mouth." But a one-cent teapot is even worse, its mouth even fouler. Their minds are filled with thoughts of how God could do such things. If God could enable me to kill Goliath, could protect me in battle, could allow me to escape from the hand of King Achish, then in the cave of Adullam, He will create a bright future.

Brothers and sisters, dare you say this? I tell you, a person without faith cannot have character. A person without faith cannot have character. I tell you, a person with character is like David, certain to have a future. Where is your future? Not in your skills, but in your character. Where is your future? In your faith.

Like many of our young people, not so young, really, in their thirties. They are good at nothing. They lack the strength for manual labor, the ability to learn technical skills, yet they are so self-reliant. Without faith, there is no future. I thank God that I am a person who trusts in God. Because I trust in God, nothing I do is left unfinished. All the projects I manage are done very well. Thank God, God is in control of everything. God can save us from all suffering. This is what David said: "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all."

David was seventeen years old at this time. I believe he must have read Genesis. I believe he must have understood the experience of Joseph. Joseph was sold into slavery in Egypt at seventeen, later becoming the prime minister of Egypt, second only to Pharaoh. "Ah, I am also seventeen. Ah, I was also hunted by Saul at seventeen, nearly killed by King Achish. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I will also be like Joseph. Praise to God will be in my mouth, and the words of the wicked will never come out of my mouth."

Then, he encouraged himself to start a business in the cave of Adullam. "But how can I do it here, all alone?" Then, in twos and threes, people came. "David, we're here to start a business with you." "Start what business? I have no resources." "We only have human resources." "David, you are our Director of Human Resources." In a few days, more came, debtors, the afflicted, arsonists, fugitives, all sorts of troublemakers, even those driven out by their wives.

So in the cave of Adullam, he recruited an army of six hundred men. Do you think six hundred men are easy to manage? One person eats their fill, and the whole family is not hungry. Six hundred men eat their fill, and the whole family is not hungry. I tell you, six hundred men, each eating one catty, that's six hundred catties a day. Where do you get six hundred catties? And they eat more than one catty. "The Lord God is my provider. God is my provider. God is my everything. God will save me from this famine." Isn't that good? Thank God.

Consider why he did not speak deceitful words, because he would not say, "God, look what I've done." What is the point of arguing with God about this? Why did Saul hunt me down? I want to appeal. Appeal to whom? There is no court to handle your case. Next, we will read Psalm 34.

Scripture

Do you want to be such a person, lacking no good thing in life? Let us pray together.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, give us a heart like David, let us emulate the faith of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and David. In times of trouble, we still proclaim Your name, still praise You. Your name is great, and we exalt Your name together. Now we come to seek You. Though we have many confusions in our hearts, we still seek You, seeking that we lack no good thing. Grant us such faith, grant us such character, grant us the anointing that David received. Let us, in our days on this earth, in our days of thinking, control our mouths. Let us solely praise our God, for You reign forever. You will reign in us.

When we seek You, no matter what circumstances we experience, You will deliver us from all troubles. God, You are the God who provides for us. You are the God who nurtures us. You are the God who protects us. You are my rock, You are my refuge. You are my salvation. You are my everything. God, I will follow You closely all my life, constantly knowing You. May Your grace and favor abound upon us. Let us lack no good thing apart from You all our lives. Let us lack no good thing in life. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Scripture Background

You say, "Teacher, we have listened to all the background you just explained." If you listen to my sermons, you will find something very interesting. That is, our sermons are quite repetitive. What is the benefit of this repetition? The repeated words are important words, so you will not forget them. Let me repeat it again. Ah, David, Achish, Saul, King of Gath, I have told the story again, which is quite good.

Why could David summarize this? Because a person who has experienced the valley of the shadow of death, after careful practice, will come to a conclusion. Through the incident with King Achish, what conclusion did he reach? An impossible thing became possible. Originally, he was throwing himself into a trap, but later he came out of the trap himself. But it was not himself who came out, it was God who led him out.

I tell you, God is too powerful to control a person. King Achish's mind is in God's hands, right? King Achish's mind in God's hands is just a glass ball. He can turn you wherever He wants you to turn. The conclusion that David summarized is extraordinary. It was summarized in the midst of suffering. After experiencing one thing, he summarized a rule. Wow, there is a future, right? I have a future. It turns out that this world is like this. God does it this way. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, because every affliction is an opportunity to practice faith.

Brothers and sisters, start learning not to be afraid. From small sufferings to great sufferings, from small problems to big problems. Why do the righteous have many afflictions? Can you understand? Because how do the righteous come out? God gives him a little test. He has faith, and then he overcomes. Then God gives him a little test, a bigger one. He has faith again, and he overcomes again, and he receives grace again. Abraham's faith is a growing faith, a constantly growing faith.

You say, "Abraham went to Canaan and encountered famine." You say, "Hey, how come I encountered famine again?" Abraham did not say that. Abraham said, "Hey, living is about having faith." Brothers and sisters, you must know that faith is a treasure. Faith can create the future. After experiencing something, can you summarize the mystery of faith?

After experiencing something, can you summarize that the Lord delivers us from all troubles? Of course, some of these troubles are the troubles of sin, which are without glory. Some troubles are the troubles of practicing faith. Some people lose faith after experiencing troubles. They think their troubles are just troubles. But David is not like that. What is David like? He practices faith in the midst of suffering, trusts in God, and has a process of spiritual repentance.

The words that David summarized are particularly good. Why? Because he can only have a future if he summarizes it this way. Brothers and sisters, you must know that faith can create the future. It is normal for you to worry about your children. Why? Because they have no faith. In the process of growing up, they have no faith. Without faith, where does their character come from? Without character, where does their perseverance come from? Without perseverance, how can they accomplish things? So everyone, I tell you, David was only seventeen years old. Who taught him these things? Is this fate? Is it innate or acquired?

So brothers and sisters, you must know that although we cannot decide whether our son has faith, and I cannot decide whether our father has faith, I can decide that I am a person of faith. Remember why the righteous have many afflictions, because the righteous must go through the practice of faith.

So when you encounter problems, what you need most is God's help. What you need most is not merit, but pure help. This is a necessity. When you encounter this kind of thing, you must have a necessity. My necessity is to escape from King Saul. God, protect me. I tell you, my prayers were almost tearful. In these practical processes, suffering creates the necessity of faith.

Is it reasonable to encounter this kind of thing? It is not reasonable, but I do not care. What I care about is that through this thing, I practice my faith. Once I practice my faith, oh my goodness, my God is so great. The year I lost my job, I did not know where the future was. I was extremely painful and very hard. Seeing that the money was about to run out, I could not repay the mortgage, and the house was about to be auctioned off. It was very miserable.

But thank God, it was only after a year that I realised I was financially free. That was a miracle, because of what? Because it was very simple, God brought a customer who wanted to rent my house, and at a high price, exceeding our neighbours' by 50%. Our neighbours couldn't rent it out for less than four thousand, but we rented our house for more than five thousand or six thousand. How is that possible, you ask? It just is. Things just happened that way. It was incredibly miraculous, and it solved my financial problems all at once. Everything that should be rented out was rented out, so what other problems did I have? My rental income was about the same as my salary. What else could that be but financial freedom?

Having gone through that, I have great faith in God. That faith in God is truly like what David said. I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; the humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together. If you understand this, congratulations, go and do it.

That is how David summarised it, because he fled to the cave of Adullam and became the leader of the cave. But as the leader of the cave, there was no one there. Did he lack people? God caused the cave to become populated. After the people came, David saw them and said, "Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together." As for whether they exalted Him or not, so be it, but David certainly exalted Him.

My Soul Shall Make Its Boast in the Lord

My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; you must magnify the Lord, for that is the foundation of all problems. I ask you, who is in control on this earth? The devil is in control. But is God in control? God is also in control. So is it the devil in control or God in control? It is God in control. You say, who is really in control? Actually, God is still in control; God reigns in the kingdom of men.

This matter is actually not difficult to understand. In the days of Daniel, Daniel was the prime minister in Babylon, and God played a trick on King Nebuchadnezzar, the King of Babylon. The Babylonian Empire was quite powerful, but to play with the King of Babylon was like playing with a glass ball. Isn't it? So the theme of the Book of Daniel is that God reigns in the kingdom of men.

God reigns in the kingdom of men. So I tell you, rise and fall, prosperity and decline, all depend on God. If you do not have this faith, and you always feel that the devil is greater in this matter, then you are mistaken. You must never think that God is against the devil; it is man who is against the devil. God often says from above, "You little devil, go and mess with him. I see that his tail is getting long, cut it off for him. He is wagging his tail." What right do you have to wag your tail? I tell you, the Lord is great. This is the foundation. We must always exalt His name, acknowledge, seek, and know His deeds; this is the key.

Then I tell you, do not argue with God in your life. This is my best summary. If you listen to my advice, do not argue with God, do not ask God why. It is meaningless. If God is willing, can you control it? He created all this. How He wants to deal with it? You have no right to argue, and you have no right to ask. We only have one right, which is to seek the goodness of the Lord God, and in Him we lack no good thing. Seek Him and lack no good thing, and know His deeds well.

He Delivered Me from All My Fears

I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. (Psalm 34:4)

Fear is quite a strange thing. Some of us have phobias. In the early days when the church was not yet victorious, it still had some ability to deal with phobias. This person, although he has left the church today and is white and fat, it was not like that back then. He suspected that his classmates wanted to kill him. Alas, he was terrified every day. That feeling was very real.

Phobia is a demon. As a result, what happened? I got rid of his phobia, and later he got rid of me. I did not kick him out; he kicked me out. But I do not care who kicks whom; that is not important. What is important is that our God delivers people from fear. Many people in our midst have been healed of phobias. Some of those who have been healed of phobias have left, and some have continued to come to seek and have continued to receive many benefits.

What is this fear? It is fear of the future, fear of this matter of living. If this matter of living is all in God's hands, the Lord is great, and God reigns over all things on earth, God reigns in the kingdom of men. Then I ask you, what are you still afraid of? I tell you, fear is a spiritual problem. That feeling can only be eliminated by the Spirit of God. Man seeks God. I tell you, a person who seeks God, knows God, and knows God, that feeling of fear will change. A person who does not seek God, and seeks only eating, drinking, and playing all day long, what will he do when fear comes? He cannot do anything. Only by knowing God, seeking God, and seeking God, will he lack no good thing.

So the first benefit is that He delivers us from fear. There is a word in Singapore called Kiasi. Everyone knows the Hokkien word Kiasi, which means afraid of death. If a person is afraid of death, then he is afraid, right? Can you live well like that? So God delivers us from all fear. Was it true that King Achish wanted to kill David? That was true.

Can God manage it? God can manage it. David only summarised after he escaped that He delivered me from all my fears. Do you want this benefit? The Lord God manages the universe. It seems that God manages billions of galaxies. We do not understand astronomy and cannot figure out how big it is. The galaxy is very, very big, beyond our imagination. If such a great God manages the little things on our bodies, can He manage them? God can definitely manage them.

The question is, are you a person who seeks God and knows God? If you have fear inside, do not know God, then start seeking to know God, and have a full understanding of God in your understanding, and have sufficient faith in your understanding, you will definitely not be afraid. If you are afraid and controlled by the spirit of fear, it is because you do not know God.

He Delivered Me from All My Troubles

He delivered me from all my troubles. What troubles did God deliver him from at this time? Let us look at verses five to eight.

They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them. Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him! (Psalm 34:5-8)

How well these words are spoken. I look to Him, and my face shines. I look to Him, and my face shines. If I do not look to Him, my face is like a bitter gourd, twisted. So looking to Him brings glory, and their faces will not be ashamed. Look at how these words are spoken. Then in my distress, I cry out, and God hears, and He saves me from all my troubles.

Brothers and sisters, you must listen to these words. No matter what the situation, our God is absolutely effective. Later, Chinese Mingding Doctrine discovered a mystery. Why is it not effective in many places? This is not me bragging, because I have specifically studied this topic. Because the reason is very simple, a church without God's presence has been established. What are you crying out for? Or a church without God's presence has been established, and it is not built according to God's will. Cry out, and you will not be effective even if you shout until your throat is broken.

So when building a church, it must be a church with God's presence. When building a temple, it must be built according to God's revelation. When building a tabernacle, it must be built according to God's pattern. Then God's glory fills it, and there is God's presence there. Then once God is present, prayer is absolutely effective.

So we cry out in that place, we seek to know Him in that place, we look to Him, we know in our hearts that the Lord is great, we know that He reigns in the kingdom of men. We also know that He will save us from all troubles, and in the end you will see God's glory. Although I have walked through a valley of the shadow of death, thank God. I have seen God's glory, of course, I am far worse than David.

Fear Him, Seek Him, and Lack No Good Thing

Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him. The young lions lack and suffer hunger; but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing. Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Who is the man who desires life, and loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. (Psalm 34:9-14)

These words are spoken so clearly, do I still need to explain them? At this time, David had already brought a group of followers, a seventeen-year-old child, leading a group of people in their thirties, forties, and fifties. As a result, what did he say? "Come, you children," the seventeen-year-old child is called a teacher. He is truly worthy, worthy. Why? Which of those people could kill Goliath? No one could kill Goliath, but David could kill him, right? David led them to practice martial arts and train in the cave of Adullam every day. He had to lead them to practice, march in step. Every morning, there was morning exercise, and after morning exercise, there was evening exercise, and before morning exercise, there was morning training, there was training.

A seventeen-year-old, quite handsome young man, with a smooth mouth. "Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord." If you want to desire life, love many days, and see good, want to get benefits, you must keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit. Do you know what kind of people came to David? Debtors, drug addicts, murderers, arsonists, people being chased for their lives, all kinds of people. A group of evil people, afraid of nothing, not afraid of heaven, not afraid of earth, not afraid of anyone, bold, daring to do anything, otherwise how could they be chased? David began the process of training them.

The story of David at seventeen is about how he herded sheep, how he served as a soldier in Saul's army and killed Goliath, and how he fled. He taught them to say that there is a God who is very powerful, and this God can save me from all troubles. Why did David write poetry? In fact, these poems were the courseware for him to train those people. Train them to learn to fear God. So he wrote a lot.

Know that those who fear God and seek God lack no good thing. What I am most worried about is that we lack the fear of God. How can those who do not fear Him get benefits? Right? Those who seek Him, those who fear Him, what happens? Those who fear Him lack nothing, and those who seek Him lack no good thing. So I encourage everyone to become a person who fears God.

Know the truth of God, and the truth can set us free. Remember that tourism cannot set people free. Can tourism set people free? What is the point of tourism? In fact, it is far worse than seeking God. A sister had a phobia. After praying, the fear was much better. After going out for a trip, the fear came back again. I was wondering if this person could summarise it.

The Lord Is Near to Those Who Have a Broken Heart

Do you think it is because of experiencing these troubles that you are heartbroken? No. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart. Alas, I have been owing myself for N years. Alas, I have been owing myself for the past 50 years. Why? Because I did not know that the Lord is great, I did not know that He would save me from fear, I did not know that He would save me from all troubles, I did not fear Him, I did not seek Him, and I lacked many benefits. I am very heartbroken.

So the Lord is near to those who have a broken heart. It is this heartbreak. It is not because someone owes you money and has not repaid you that you are heartbroken and regret it. Why did you lend it to him in the first place? It is not that. Heartbreak is not because others disappoint you that you are heartbroken. It is because we did not know that there were benefits here in the past, and we have been owing ourselves for too long.

He saves those who have a contrite spirit. Remember that the Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and then what does it say? He saves those who have a contrite spirit. In the past, we were carnal people, in the past, we were mixed people. Now we want to be good people? No, be someone who fears Him, seeks Him, and obtains the benefits of the Lord God.

The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and He saves those who have a contrite spirit. We do not know God in our spirit, we have misunderstood many things, and in fact, God can help us solve many things. We have been owing ourselves many benefits from God. So I tell you, you must know God, and seek Him and lack no good thing. When to seek? It is that the righteous have many afflictions, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.

It is only in suffering that you know to seek. A person who eats and drinks well will not seek God. It is strange to find a God when you have nothing to do. Don't you think it is strange? It is all those who have been bruised and battered who say, "I must believe in God." Once you believe in God, you become righteous. What are the righteous for? Those who practice faith are the righteous. In the past, I misunderstood. I had no faith. I did not believe in God. Now I want to correct it. I want to be a righteous person and practice in faith. In the future, we will be in God's hands, receiving His grace and being protected by Him.

May God bless everyone, Amen!
