Introduction
Good day to all. We continue our study of Psalm 32. Today, I will share on the topic, "Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered." In the Bible, curses and blessings are two eternal themes. Do not think that the New Testament has no curses; that is a foolish argument.
For the New Testament clearly records curses. If a person believes in the wrong gospel or preaches the wrong gospel, he will be accursed. If a person does not love God, he will be accursed. Such a person is cursed and damnable. Read carefully, and you can verify this. So, blessings and curses are a very eternal topic in the Bible.
Some people do not understand what curses and blessings are all about, mixing everything up. How does it work? If you carefully observe and follow God's words, you will be blessed. If you do not carefully observe and follow, you will be cursed. Then people get confused, "Teacher, I cannot carefully observe and follow." "Ah, cannot carefully observe and follow." "Oh, I am very afraid." You should be afraid. If you do not carefully observe and follow all day long, shouldn't you be afraid?
So, Psalm 32 is about "whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered." We humans have a characteristic: we inexplicably think we are not bad. Why? Because if we feel we are bad, we lose our sense of existence, and we cannot live on. People think they are not bad, making it their hope and courage to live on. Isn't this a tragedy? But once people think they are not bad, it becomes dangerous.
Do you know that you are inherently a sinner? You are inherently a sinner, but because of faith in Jesus Christ, God does not count us as sinners. But we are still sinners. This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. But after being successful for a long time, people forget that they are sinners. Don't you find it strange?
I think I am quite good, arguing with pastors, arguing with spiritual leaders. Oh my goodness, thinking I am particularly good, and even insisting on right and wrong. What is that if not utterly wicked? Actually, I tell you, when we forget that we are sinners, and that God merely declares us righteous, when we forget this, the devil comes. Then things happen, and we are not successful.
Who has the most experience with this? I have the most experience with this. Besides me, there is David, the King David in the Bible. And you, you must always observe, learn, and summarize, and you will come to the conclusion, with clear understanding, that you are a sinner. Knowing that what you receive is grace, and that you have no right to think you are not bad, that is the key.
Now let's talk about David, who wrote Psalm 1. How did he write it? "But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree." He was King David who wrote this psalm. Later, he wrote Psalm 32. How did this happen?
For a period of time, life was comfortable, and he did not have to fight on the front lines. The days were peaceful, and he did not have to personally take up a knife and gun to fight on the battlefield. Then the economy was developed, and the people's livelihood was greatly improved. He felt that his political achievements were very rich. Holding large and small meetings, with people below praising him, plus he felt good about himself, thanking the Lord for still delighting in the law of the Lord. Then, meditating on it day and night, he felt sweet in his heart. Below, there were also eulogies, and he felt good about himself.
Then what did they do? A lot of flatterers around him. Flattering him so comfortably. Then they organized a guitarist. He said, "David, pick up the microphone and sing Psalm 1." They even set it to music for him. Singing, "Ah, this psalm I wrote is really good," feeling that he wrote it really well. What happened? The devil came. Feeling very glorious, even giving himself the name David's Glory, Glorious David. As a result, the devil came.
The night before, David drank a little wine, and then summoned a few close officials to get some skewers. One cup after another, they finished a case of Moutai, then took three cases of beer, and then had several rounds of barbecue skewers. Talking about his great achievements, enjoying the beautiful future, drinking until he was drunk. I am talking about the origin of Psalm 32.
Drinking until morning, and in between, singing a few songs written by David. Wow, how happy. Life can be like this, all thanks to God's grace. As a result, he slept until the afternoon. Waking up, he was still dazed. Where was the sun? Yesterday morning, when he got up, it rose from the east. Hey, how am I seeing the sun from the west? Actually, the sun was about to set. What to do? Still wondering. Ah, sleepy-eyed.
Then, wearing a robe, he stood on the highest terrace in the city of Jerusalem. At that time, the highest terrace was probably a two-story terrace. Looking out, wouldn't you know it, a young woman, Bathsheba, was near David's house, bathing in the courtyard. Oh, I tell you, the angle was just perfect. The young woman was bathing there, and David saw it. Can you imagine? Oh my goodness! With those bathing movements, where was the law of the Lord? Gone, only the body's reaction. The Moutai he drank yesterday was quite aphrodisiac, and as a result, the body began to react. He brought her over. He brought her over. My goodness, he really brought her over.
Why was Bathsheba bathing there? Oh, I tell you. Bathsheba, this woman, her husband was fighting on the front lines. If you say she wasn't horny, that's a lie, right? She was hoping that David would stand on that terrace. Oh, when will he see me bathing here? Wouldn't you know it, it was just so coincidental. As a result, David's mind was full of the image of Bathsheba bathing. If this matter of peeping at someone bathing happened now, it would definitely be trending. As a result, he brought her over. Wouldn't you know it, she got pregnant. She got pregnant just like that. What to do? Come on, let's all give him an idea. What do you say to do?
At this time, did David still have the law of the Lord in his mind? Could that thing solve the problem? Right? Could that thing solve the matter of her being pregnant? She was pregnant. What to do? As a result, he invited her husband back from the front lines. He thought that her husband would go into the house and have that kind of thing with her. Ah, the child born would be thanks to the Lord, Uriah, you have a child. He planned it quite well.
As a result, Uriah did not go home, but sat at the door of David's house, sleeping there. Oh, David was very worried. What to do? David said helplessly, "Ah, Uriah, you are very loyal. You have given up everything for the country and the people." As a result, he sent Uriah back to the front lines. Sending him back to the front lines, he wrote a letter to Uriah's general, so that Uriah could die in battle. Ah, isn't that a trick? Behind it, there is a devil directing it.
When David was writing Psalm 1, he was thinking, "But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree." Was he still blessed? No blessing. Only thinking about the bastard in Bathsheba's belly, thinking about how to deal with this shameful matter, where was there any joy? Ah, this worry, and he couldn't tell others. The subjects were all wondering what happened to David. Ah, David is worried for the country and the people. David, why aren't you joyful? Ah, don't ask, don't ask, go down, go down, go down. Meditating day and night on the trick to get rid of Uriah.
That feeling was very painful. You think, Uriah was killed, and after Bathsheba gave birth to the child, until the child died, during that entire period, David was extremely painful, never having lived through such a painful time. Then, if you say confess, where would he put his face? If he didn't confess, it was just so uncomfortable.
David was a smart man. Where was he smart? Thinking it over, I cannot be messed up by the devil like this. I still need my God. I still need my God's salvation. God, I want to confess my sins before you. Not only confess my sins before you, but I will also write Psalm 32. I will reveal this shameful matter for everyone to see. "Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered."
Do you know what it means to be blessed? Do you think having money is called being blessed? No. A person's heart is clear. A person's heart is happy, not happy from drinking a little wine, but happy without doing anything. Ah, regaining the joy of salvation, that person is blessed.
So, Psalm 32 is about David experiencing a very painful period, finally realizing the truth. I tell you, a person meditating day and night, only delighting in the law of the Lord, meditating day and night, cannot resist self-righteousness. Once a person feels that they are not bad, they are ruined. So today, everyone must be careful, never feel that you are not bad.
Feeling that you love God very much, feeling that you are a righteous person, feeling that you have been crucified with Jesus, feeling that it is no longer I who live, but Jesus Christ who lives in me. Of course, you can have this kind of situation, but you cannot feel that you are not bad. Do you understand? Sometimes it is true, and sometimes it is really not true. Know that it is all because of the Lord Jesus.
So, there is a passage from the Apostle Paul that is very puzzling. Believing in the Lord, he said that he was a sinner. Believing and serving, he felt that he was a sinner. Walking and walking, he became a great sinner. Waiting and waiting, he became the worst of sinners. What kind of logic is this? I tell you, the closer a person is to God, the more they feel their own filth and dirtiness. The farther a person is from God, the more they feel that they are not bad. That's how it is.
Everyone often brings up Job. Later, I understood it. Job at that time felt that he was very good. He felt all day long that I am a righteous person. In the land of Uz, there is a righteous person, and that is me, Job. He enjoyed that sense of existence to the fullest, feeling very good about himself. As a result, Satan saw it. Hey? You really think you are not bad. Then he ran to God to complain. God said, "Just what I wanted. Go mess with him."
Although you feel that you are not bad, how do you know? You read the Book of Job. Don't read it out of context. If you understand the Book of Job, you will know that Job felt that he was not bad. He should have suffered long ago. As a result, Job argued with God. Arguing with God, he said a lot of nonsense. He felt that he was very reasonable. As a result, God asked him a few questions and stumped him. Looking at his dialogue, don't you think Job felt that he was quite good? Later, Job repented before God. Examine carefully why, because he felt that he was not bad. This is very deadly.
I used to know some people, people I served. I know. They all got cancer, and they still felt that they were not bad. Later, they died miserably. So among us, if you get cancer and want to be healed, it's simple. It's not up to me. It's up to you. Confess and repent. Don't feel that you are not bad. I have served many cancer patients who later died, all of whom felt that they were not bad. Those cancer patients were already dying, and they still felt that they were good people. Then the devil came and messed you up to death. If you say that you are a sinner, the effect might be quite good.
Was Job a righteous person? He was not a righteous person. God merely counted him as a righteous person. Was David a righteous person? No. God counted him as a righteous person. Are you and I righteous people? No. God counts us as righteous people.
For many years, a preacher in the church has been troubled. To what extent? It's about Deuteronomy 28, because our "101 Course" talks about blessings and curses. She said, "Deuteronomy 28 speaks of blessings and curses. If people disobey God's word, they will be cursed. I often disobey. Won't I be cursed? What did Jesus Christ do? What did He accomplish on the cross?" This is her confusion.
Isn't this kind of confusion perplexing? She is confused by this, and I am confused by her confusion. Actually, she is a sinner, and she has already suffered many curses, hasn't she? And she is still here, with this kind of confusion. Isn't this very fearful? Jesus came to untie this knot. Why? Because all people are sinners, so demons can rule over people. When demons rule over people, what happens? People suffer many curses.
Later, because we believe in Jesus Christ, even though we are still sinners and cannot keep Deuteronomy 28, God no longer counts us as sinners. God counts us as righteous. Where did the sin go? It went to Jesus. Then the demons become illegitimate. Jesus untied this knot.
You see, if you are a sinner, demons can legitimately mess with you. What to do? If demons mess with you, you will commit more sins. If you commit more sins, demons will mess with you even more. Isn't that what you do your whole life? Now Jesus has untied this knot. It's not because you are good enough that God wants to save you. After saving you, you receive this grace, enabling us to keep and follow God's word. It's not that you are able to keep and follow, but that God enables us to keep and follow.
The salvation accomplished by Jesus Christ is definitely not giving you a reason not to follow. It gives you the ability to transcend life. I have spoken so much about Deuteronomy 28 to let everyone know that they have not yet been crucified with Christ. Even if you are crucified with Christ, you must know that you are still a sinner and need to strive for perfection. Don't be like a mule or horse, needing a bit and bridle to be tamed. I must tell you that in this world, the wicked will suffer much.
You say, "Teacher, I am suffering." You are wicked. "Teacher, I am suffering a lot." That is a very wicked person. Isn't it? If we studied God's word with the same energy we use to play games and read novels, would we be confused? Isn't it? We wouldn't be confused. When people read novels and play games, their energy comes up. I tell you, once people think they are good, they are finished, they become wicked. Why? Because your transgressions have not been forgiven, your sins have not been covered. How can you become a blessed person?
Scripture
Now let's read Psalm 32. Open your Bible.
Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord does not count against them and in whose spirit is no deceit. When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy on me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer. Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord”—and you forgave the guilt of my sin. Therefore let all the faithful pray to you while you may be found; surely the rising of the mighty waters will not reach them. You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding, whose stubbornness must be curbed with bit and bridle, or they will not come near you. Many are the woes of the wicked, but the Lord’s unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in him. Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are pure in heart! (Psalm 32:1-11)
Prayer
God, open our minds today, let us see how dirty and filthy we are, and let us know what kind of grace you have for us. Let this grace receive glorious praise in us. God, let us have the courage to confess and repent before you today.
May the precious blood of the Lord Jesus cover our transgressions and our sins, and make us righteous in your eyes. God, soften our hearts and let us regain salvation and joy in your presence. God! I want to overcome the powers of darkness through you, and live out the glorious image you created me to be through you. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Scripture Background
I have already talked about the background of this passage at length. You know, David felt great when he committed the sin. Was he happy? Yes, he was very happy. But the subsequent suffering was ten times more painful than the happiness. So he was suffering. After he did this, the demon clung to him tightly. He followed the demon's ideas step by step, and the more he walked, the more uncomfortable he became, and the deeper his suffering became.
Many people think about making money, making it big, and then jumping off a building. The ending is either jail or jumping off a building. Someone sent me a video that counted the number of private entrepreneurs who jumped off buildings in the past period. Private entrepreneurs make money, and some of them are even well-known brands, but the bosses jumped off buildings. Why? The reason is simple: making money. What will making money lead to? It will lead to suffering. Why? Because as you make money, you become wicked.
Li Ao had a good saying. He said that successful people are not good people, and good people cannot be successful. How can good people succeed? If you are not bad from a young age, can you go up? You have to be bad to go up. So what did he say? He said that behind the success is not vicissitudes, but evil and corruption.
So I want the brothers and sisters to know this logic. People live in this world and then jump off buildings. What's going on? Let's not rub salt in the wound, but we must understand what's going on in our hearts. Like David did these evil things, he felt uncomfortable. Thank God he didn't jump off a building. He thought about it, and the buildings were not high at that time. Jumping down would only break his leg and he couldn't do anything else. His house only had two floors.
What was the result? David was smart. He confessed and repented. He regained his joy. Why? Because we were originally sinners, and now we have one more sin. It doesn't matter if we confess one more sin. Don't look at the problem with human eyes. Actually, you and I are guilty of death. Not only David deserved to die, but you and I also deserve to die.
But what is blessed? Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Why is it blessed? Because we confessed our sins, so the sins were forgiven. They were acknowledged, so they were covered and blotted out. This is very straightforward. It's that simple. You need to have a bit of integrity and don't think in circles. One moment it's like this, another moment it's like that. "Teacher, I am confused." It's very simple, don't be confused.
Actually, I tell you, David wrote this Psalm 32 after experiencing this incident. This experience was very important to David. Because the kind of discomfort in his heart is not the kind of discomfort you and I can imagine. It's the demon making people particularly uncomfortable. The demon lives in people, and people are particularly uncomfortable. If people don't confess and repent, the demon will definitely live in them, because our transgressions have not been forgiven and our sins have not been covered. The demon legitimately messes with us.
Job suffered those sins. Was it the demon messing with him? Yes. How did he get better later? Job repented and got better. If you don't repent, how can you get better? So brothers and sisters, take away that little bit of self-esteem. That little bit of self-esteem is useless. Then, I tell you, David wrote this Psalm and it became a model for us to follow.
The Blessed Have Soft Hearts
The blessed have soft hearts. If you observe carefully, there is a phenomenon in this world that I have studied for a long time. That is, the rigid suffer more. They are self-righteous and suffer more for what they believe in. The degree of a person's pain in life is closely related to their lack of softness and rigidity. David said: Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding, whose stubbornness must be curbed with bit and bridle, or they will not come near you. This is very well said. Actually, it is not difficult to have transgressions forgiven and sins covered. As long as you admit your wrong before God.
So in the past few years of my ministry, I have found it particularly difficult to make people realize that they are wrong. Sometimes I make people feel that they have not done well, and give them a little reminder, but that doesn't work. They come up and want to argue and fight with me. People are like this. Don't you think that these people will suffer more? A soft heart is a great attribute. Don't be so sure of what you believe in, you will be ruined. If you have a soft heart and often think that you have not done well, you will suffer less.
There is a TV series starring Andy Lau called "Jiang Hu". Have you seen it? It's a Hong Kong drama in Cantonese. I haven't seen it, I almost never watch movies. How do I know this? A minister in Singapore said a line in Cantonese during a meeting, which is Andy Lau's line. Andy Lau's line is: "I tell you, you don't listen. You listen, but you don't understand. You understand, but you don't do it. You do it, but you do it wrong. You do it wrong, but you don't admit it. You admit it, but you don't change it. You change it, but you are not convinced. What do you want me to do?" He speaks Cantonese better, it has more flavor, but my translation is also good.
This is rigidity. It's like kicking someone to make them take a step. Actually, I tell you, rigid people suffer more. Some people think that stubbornness is a good character. I tell you, this kind of character is useless except for suffering more. People are stubborn, can you be more stubborn than God? I tell you, the blessed have soft hearts. Having a soft heart is not the same as having no character. Having a soft heart is a very good character.
I used to have a boss who told me that when looking for a girlfriend or wife, you should look for someone with a soft heart, and never look for someone with a rigid heart. Those with rigid hearts not only suffer more, but their families also suffer more. If some of you sisters are desperately looking for a wife for your son, please take a good look, and may your family not suffer more.
So this matter of having transgressions forgiven and sins covered, where does it start? If you can listen, then listen. After listening, you can understand. After understanding, you can do it. After doing it, you won't do it wrong. If you do it wrong, you should admit it quickly. After admitting it, you should change it quickly. And don't be unconvinced in your heart, like a stubborn donkey. That's too hard. This is the blessed person.
Don't be like a mule or horse, you have to wear a bit, and then you have to be pulled. If you want to bite an iron ring in your mouth, it must be hard, but it is impossible not to wear it. This is what David said, not what I said.
The Blessed Pray to God While He May Be Found
The blessed pray to God while He may be found. I will read it to you. I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord”—and you forgave the guilt of my sin. Therefore let all the faithful pray to you while you may be found; surely the rising of the mighty waters will not reach them.
A blessed man has a soft heart, experiencing hardship and suffering. Before being submerged by the great flood, while God still hears our prayers and we are still qualified to pray, we must hasten to pray to God. Confess our sins before Him; persistence is futile.
What is this about? It is about Noah's Ark. Noah herded tigers, wolves, lions, elephants, and all kinds of creatures, leading them into the ark in pairs. The line was incredibly long. Back then, technology was quite advanced, and they started live streaming. The whole world knew about Noah entering the ark. "Hey, what's going on? Noah, what are you doing?" "Oh, the great flood is coming, and we are entering the ark." The great flood is coming? Everyone looked at the drought and wondered what flood could come. As a result, no one took it seriously.
After Noah entered the ark, the great flood was seven days away. Those people were hard-hearted, not soft. God closed the door of the ark. Those people were still laughing, wondering where the flood was. Those on the ground had seven days left to live. Noah was in the ark, cooking and eating. Still no flood? If Noah's family were foolish, they would think there was no flood and want to go out for a stroll, to the supermarket to buy something, or to get the takeout delivered to the ark's door.
But they couldn't do that. Once the door was closed, they couldn't get out, and those outside couldn't get in. After seven days, the great flood came. It was useless for those outside to do anything; they could only drown. When the great flood comes, and you think of praying to God, "God, save me!" it's too late.
So, what is a blessed person? Before the great flood submerges you, while there is still an opportunity to seek God, hasten to pray. Later, I discovered that many people only think of praying when they can no longer seek. Only then do they think of confessing and repenting, but it's too late, really too late. I'm not trying to scare you, because I minister to these people. There are so many hard-hearted people, so I really hope everyone can suffer less. Don't be hard-hearted, insisting until the door is closed. Where will you go then? You say, "God, open the door for me." God says, "I do not know you." Then it's over.
The Blessed Are Hidden in God
Psalm 32:7: "You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance." This is so important. When a person is in God, the devil cannot come near. But if you are outside of God, the devil will attack you relentlessly. Why do people want to stay outside of God? People should stay in God, for God is our hiding place.
After David committed sin and repented, he hid himself in God, and the devil could not touch him. Sometimes this is not easy to understand. But David wrote it very plainly, without the need for deep, convoluted interpretations.
Give yourself to God; don't devise your own schemes. After David successfully killed Uriah and took Bathsheba into his palace, the sorrow in David's heart was hard to resolve. How painful was it? "When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy on me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer."
When you are not in God, God's hand weighs heavily on you. Do you think it is God's hand? God sends a few little devils to press down on you severely. The pain inside a person cannot be solved by eating something. When that pain comes, anyone who has suffered from depression knows that it is beyond ordinary comprehension. That's why many people jump off buildings; how much pain must they be in to take that step?
What difficulties do great entrepreneurs face? They face worldly difficulties. When business is good, they can't find good employees. When they find good employees, business is bad again. Oh my goodness, it's so hard. They can't repay the bank loans and have to pay salaries. Oh, it's so hard. Can you imagine their suffering? There may be many other reasons. For example, "Oh, these unfortunate brothers I brought along, I'm a terrible person, who will take care of them?" They worry about this too.
It's better for people to hide in God. Don't try to carry these worldly things yourself; you can't bear the pressure. I suspect that those who rely on themselves are being weighed down by God's hand, so they can't bear it and jump off buildings.
But David is smart. He has a soft heart. He hastens to pray and seek God while he can, and hastens to repent when he can. He hides in God; it's not fun outside. If you ask me, I'll tell you there is a good place in this world, and that is in Jesus Christ. In Jesus Christ, the devil cannot touch you. How do we hide inside? By confessing and repenting.
Don't learn that line: "You speak, but I don't listen; I listen, but I don't understand; I understand, but I don't do; I do, but I do it wrong; I do it wrong, but I don't admit it; I admit it, but I don't change; I change, but I'm not convinced." Then you say, "What do you want from me?" What can be done for you? You will still be pressed down by God's hand. The most blessed person is hidden in God; don't come out of there. What will you do when you come out? I don't know what to do; it's terrible outside.
The Blessed Suffer Less
The Bible says that David summarized an interesting point: the wicked will suffer many torments, but the blessed will suffer less. There is also this: "You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble." Anything that makes people suffer is bad, especially illness. You may not have experienced walking through the gates of hell. If you get sick, I tell you, your body is not your own; it's very hard. I never think illness is a good thing.
Such troubles and sufferings are not good things. God is our hiding place; he will protect us from trouble. The wicked will suffer many torments; in God, we suffer less; outside of God, we suffer more. People suffer a lot and still think they are blessed. They should quickly realize they are not doing things right.
Some pastors don't dare to say that illness is suffering. They say, "Well, illness is not really suffering." Why? Because you have to save face for some people. They are suffering terribly and get sick, and they are pastors. It's very hard. If you sprinkle salt on their wounds, they can't bear it.
But as for us, we hope to admit our mistakes more often. If you admit your mistakes more often, you become a blessed person. "Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered." Is it so hard to admit that I made a mistake? Is that face so important? Well, my skin is thick, and I don't rely on that to live, so if I do something wrong, I just say I didn't do it right. If I didn't do it right, then I'll correct it.
So, brothers and sisters, if you want to be a blessed person, you must have a soft heart. You must seek Him while God can be found, and confess before Him that you are a sinner. Then, a blessed person must hide in God and not easily wander out. And I tell you, you will suffer less.
Actually, I think I have suffered less in my life. If I didn't know God, how much would I have suffered? Blessed. I am really blessed. My mother liked to find fortune tellers to tell fortunes for our family. No matter which fortune teller she found, they all thought that this child in your family is blessed. Oh, my name should be Liu Youfu (Liu Blessed), and my heart is not hard, so I have suffered less, and brothers and sisters can also suffer less.
Actually, this is also my dream. I really don't want brothers and sisters to suffer too much; it's meaningless. What's the point of suffering so much? The blessed suffer less. If Job had been humble earlier and not self-righteous, thinking he was a righteous man, then Satan wouldn't have chosen him, right? He had nothing better to do, so he didn't need to suffer that much. That's the way it is. If you always feel that you are blessed, you won't be so painful, right? And you won't need to jump off buildings.
The Blessed, God Will Show Us the Way to Go
For the blessed, God will show us the way to go. "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you." God's eyes do not leave us. When He sees us doing something wrong, He says, "This is wrong, this won't do." But when people are hard-hearted, it's bad. You say, "You're wrong, get out of here." So we often have nothing to say, but how often do we rebuke our God?
Did God reveal things to David? Yes. David forgot himself. God said, "You must be careful, you must be careful recently, don't let your eyes wander." But he had to take a look, and when he looked, he didn't remember God's warning, right? So God wants to teach us and show us the way to go. Every time we go to some place, God will tell us the way to go.
I can tell you frankly that God has reminded me many times, telling me the way to go. Every time, the way to go is crucial. Taking the idea of making money to support the church, I had that idea. Later, God said that this is not the way. I don't need you to support me. I don't need you to work hard to make money to support the church. That's when I changed.
Sometimes we had to pray to cast out demons, and we almost fell into a pit. That's not the way. That was at the beginning. We can't always go that way. If we keep praying to cast out demons and don't improve our understanding, one day it won't work. So we quickly changed. God showed us the way to go. Recently, we have been walking step by step, and today God has shown us the way to go again. Thank God.
We blessed people have soft hearts, not like mules that need a bit and bridle to obey. We listen carefully to God's words, seek God's truth, and constantly climb the peaks of spiritual truth. God's eyes do not leave us, focusing on us and admonishing us. How blessed is that? I really feel that I am a blessed person, often feeling that I have not done things right, and often confessing and repenting before God. It's really good!
Does everyone want to be a blessed person? You want to be a blessed person, but suddenly you are tempted by lust and commit sin. Maybe the lust in your heart and the lust in David's heart are not the same lust, but the emotion, the life that is formed, is the same emotion, the same life. So even if you fall into this pit of lust today, thank God.
Don't worry about losing face today. God is still the God who saves us. In the past, we were sinners, and today we have committed another sin. God can still save us, as long as we have a soft heart. "Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered." Be a blessed person, and don't let these worldly things make you miserable. May God make us a blessed person. May God bless everyone, Amen!
