Do Not Mutter and Complain

Many are unaware of the church's purpose. Some mistakenly believe it's merely a temple-like institution that teaches people to do good deeds. In reality, the church imparts spiritual principles. Grasping these principles allows you to understand the laws governing the development of things. You will then have an epiphany, recognising how spiritual laws operate and begin to move in that direction. Those who do not understand spiritual laws cannot possibly thrive, because human life is governed by spiritual laws. Over the past few years, God has performed wondrous acts among us – healings and deliverances. Do not think this is difficult to achieve; it is not difficult at all. Healing and deliverance are, in fact, minor achievements. If even this cannot be done, then more significant accomplishments will be hard to come by. Healing and deliverance are merely introductory steps.

Within the realm of healing and deliverance, even severe illnesses such as cancer are not caused by particularly formidable evil spirits. So what are these formidable evil spirits? They are the devils, like the one in the Garden of Eden who spoke to Eve. The words may have seemed innocuous, but they were profoundly corrupting, easily leading people to their demise. As the church continues to grow, so do we continue to purify ourselves. However, the devil will also become greater, and the devils we face will become increasingly challenging.

The topic I have frequently addressed recently concerns how to deal with the devils drawn by complaining. Do not mutter and complain; this is a spiritual law. Those who complain will be destroyed by the destroyer. The sermon title from a previous Sunday, Life and Death are in the Power of the Tongue, also speaks to a spiritual law. Our mouths are spiritual and wondrous organs. Through the words we speak, life and death are in the power of the tongue. When I first arrived in Singapore, I recall reading a news report about an individual who worked at a large corporation and committed suicide by hanging in the office because colleagues had repeatedly spoken hurtful words to him. These people were unaware of the potential harm of words to control a person's life at any moment. The severe consequences directly impacted the company's operations. Some may study Feng Shui, which is also spiritual, albeit in a different form.

I am unsure if he is a Christian, as he frequently expresses his views on other religions online. He wanted to discuss spiritual laws with me, viewing them as similar to Feng Shui. I told him that the issues he now faces are spiritual. We indeed study something similar, but my approach is more effective. His Feng Shui might require careful consideration. In reality, many people in this world study spiritual issues, seeking to understand how spiritual laws operate. Feng Shui is not entirely absurd; although it contains some spiritual laws, it exists in an unstable state. The spiritual laws taught by the church are extremely useful. The laws revealed by God in the Bible are a wondrous grace.

Why do people complain? Because their hearts are full of grievances, which they then speak out. Why do people engage in gossip? Because their hearts are filled with idle talk. Why do people criticise and judge? Because their hearts are filled with many standards of right and wrong. Whatever complaint fills the heart will be spoken from the mouth. What fills a person's heart will determine what they say. Carefully examine what fills your heart, as it determines the outcome of your life. Therefore, the Bible says to guard your heart as you would protect the pupil of your eye, lest it be defiled by filth, for that will lead to the path of destruction. Do not complain; a heart full of complaints is a heart full of bitterness. The church helps you release the bitterness in your heart. Even if you were to sew someone's mouth shut, there would still be complaints in the heart. Only when the complaints in the heart are removed will the complaints on the lips disappear. A stingy person cannot speak generously; speaking generously is likely a deception.

A generous person does not speak stingily. A gossiper cannot live without gossip. A person with bitterness in their heart easily explodes when their pain point is touched. Touching someone's pain point is like poking a hornet's nest; the wasps will emerge from the person's heart. As people speak, I observe strange situations. One sister had experienced God, but she was prone to negative thoughts. When she chatted with other sisters, releasing negative emotions, the other sisters comforted her, but then the other sisters developed negative emotions and became entangled. Each time I prepare a manuscript, I am, in effect, publishing a paper on the study of spiritual laws. Why are people's words so influential? Because this is a spiritual matter. Spiritual matters must naturally operate according to spiritual laws. As the Bible says, What is stored in your heart, what do you value? It is very worthwhile to ask this question. As your heart is, so shall you live.

If what you value is wrong, the outcome you live out will also be wrong. You must transform your thinking; discard what is foul and treasure what is valuable. Then you will become an extraordinary person, able to live out God's honour and glory. Generally, when praying, I will ask, What do you need prayer for? Some brothers and sisters will tell me that they feel great pressure, but pressure is not in the mouth; it is in the heart. After being taught, this brother said that he no longer felt any pressure or fear. Praise the Lord; this is the church's ability – to edify people. If I share these words with you often, and you receive and experience them, you can live a beautiful life.

Scripture:

“Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” (Matthew 12:33-37)

Believe what Jesus says with faith, and then study it. The result will be particularly wondrous. The Christian faith is an extremely practical faith, not metaphysics. If faith is not practical, it is very troublesome. Faith solves problems, and the words in the Bible are all words that everyone can understand.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank you for revealing your words to us, for allowing us to know the mysteries of the spirit and for letting us know that the words we speak directly impact our lives. We ask that you personally renew our minds and thoughts so that they may be more in line with your spiritual laws, that we may live out all that is beautiful. Lord Jesus, we ask that you take control of our mouths so that we may only speak words that edify and words that bless. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

This passage refers to a deaf and mute person in Matthew chapter 12 verse 22, all of whose organs had deteriorated. Someone brought him to Jesus, and Jesus healed him. The mute person was able to speak, and the blind person was able to see. Although modern medicine is very advanced, solving these problems still poses certain difficulties. However, Jesus healed this person very quickly; it seemed simple, because Jesus cast out the demons of the mute and blind people. Everyone was amazed and said, Is this not the Son of David? The Son of David refers to the promised Messiah who performs miracles for us. I truly long for the day when I can lay hands on those in need and see miracles appear, with the blind and deaf being healed. I believe that one day God will accomplish these things in me, because my prayers this year have been much more effective than last year. This is not cultivation.

I have pondered a spiritual law: the more you deal with devils, the more the devils know who you are. Devils know that you have defeated them before, so the next time you deal with them, they will disappear without a trace. This is, in effect, fighting a war with the devil, winning victory after victory, and dealing with ever greater devils. The higher you are, the higher the devil will be. As the saying goes, The Tao is one foot high, and the devil is ten feet high, evenly matched opponents are just right. Jesus is the Son of David, the Messiah who brings heavenly grace. The Pharisees did not like Jesus's reputation, so they said that this person was casting out devils by relying on the king of devils. This was their theory. The Pharisees were people who specialised in studying the Bible, and their way of studying the Bible was completely different from mine. Recently, someone added me to a WeChat group, and I felt that what was written in it was a bit strange, so I used These signs will accompany those who believe (cf. Mark 16:17) to comment on it. I said that we should imitate Jesus in life, and a pastor came to challenge me, asking if I could die on the cross at the age of 30 if I imitated Jesus. I said that I was sorry, but I am over 50 years old.

Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand? And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your people drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. (Matthew 12:25-27)

This is a very interesting thing. I think that whatever Jesus does, we should do. It is a very simple principle. Jesus dealt with devils, so we must deal with devils. Although it requires more practice, we can improve one step at a time every day. But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. (Matthew 12:28)

Casting out devils is the same thing as the kingdom of God coming upon you! We often pray for God's kingdom to come. Jesus said, “Or again, how can anyone enter a strong man’s house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can plunder his house. Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come. (Matthew 12:29-32)

Do not think that the Pharisees are very familiar with the Bible because they casually said that Jesus was casting out devils by relying on the king of devils, which is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. It will never be forgiven in this life or the next, which means that those who cast out devils cannot be blasphemed, because we cast out devils by relying on the Spirit of God.

Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned. (Matthew 12:33-37)

The fruit is speech. The words you speak determine what kind of tree you are. The words of God are seeds that, take root. The fruit that grows forth determines what you speak. If you can be justified or condemned by your words, then it is clear that those who cast out devils by the Spirit of God cannot be blasphemed because it is not possible to cast out devils by relying on devils. Furthermore, the scripture states that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. So do not speak idle words. Speaking words is a spiritual matter that can justify or condemn a person. This is why life and death are in the power of the tongue, and why those who complain are destroyed. The meaning of this passage is that our words reveal our true thoughts and allow us to see what kind of tree or person we are.

Understanding that words are a spiritual matter requires some careful consideration. Jesus’ words carry the true essence of life, the Spirit that gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and are life (John 6:63). The words we speak are just as full. The spoken word and the Spirit are intertwined, a core principle of the Spirit. How do you see the Spirit? The Spirit may be invisible, but when I speak, you witness my lips moving and perceive my voice through your ears. It is something of the Spirit. This principle helps those of us that suffer with entanglement. A few words can make the difference.

Words carry the Spirit, and it is this Spirit that has the answer. The Holy Spirit solves the problems of the heart. The Holy Spirit fills us with the promise to feel joy and peace. By understanding the principle of life we find that we either edify one another, or tear each other down. Whether we like it or not, we absorb the words around us. When someone spends their entire life complaining about you, it is because that negativity enters your body. When bad energies surround your home, you feel uncomfortable. But when the Holy Spirit fills the room, we feel so much better.

How did Jesus cast our demons? By declaring them out! When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. “Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.” Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?” The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.” When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith. Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that moment. (Matthew 8:5-13).

The true miracle is that words are something that surpasses our understanding. His words were spoken thousands years ago, yet they still resonate within us. It is this same ability that we have too. Some call for the miracle of healing. If you hold to your faith and never fail, you will know the power of prayer in all you do.

The Spirit in Your Words and Mine

However, the power to release the Holy Spirit can also release the corruption of evil spirits. The words people speak can release things in the spiritual realm. Have you ever seen a ghost? Never believe in the ghosts in movies. I do not find them frightening. But if you see such a ghost in real life, do not be afraid. What is frightening is the unseen entity that releases corruption through people's words. The words people speak can release power in the spiritual realm. Be careful! And be very careful about the words you hear. What you hear and what you say are very important. Some people do not like to listen to what others say; they prefer to delve into world literature, reading themselves into a state of fanaticism, even to the point of becoming mentally ill. Why does this happen? The words written by the author influence their thinking, leading them to become complex and confused, and thus mentally ill. So you will find that some people with complex thinking enjoy reading world literature. Teachers of language arts should be careful and pray before reading these books. Be careful of what you hear and what you say, because the words people speak are spirit and can release the power of the Holy Spirit, and they can also release the corruption of evil spirits. As the people of God, we must speak words that edify others, words that release the power of the Holy Spirit. This is why when you come into contact with people who frequently release the power of the Holy Spirit, your heart will be clear, and many things you cannot figure out on your own become clear. Just a few words with others can make you see things clearly, because the Holy Spirit is working in that person's body.

But some people speak words that release evil spirits, making people confused and entangled. When some brothers and sisters say to me, Pastor, my eyes cannot see visions. You all can see everything when you pray, but I cannot. I say, The human spirit is very sensitive. Have you ever had the experience of feeling upset when you hear certain words? I tell you, the moment you feel upset, the demons come! You might use reason to discern that you should not feel upset, but why do you feel upset? Then you know that this is not normal. The spirit created by God in a person's heart is very sensitive; you can immediately feel it when you are unhappy. You are very clear about your emotions; you yourself are a good measuring instrument, and your spiritual feelings are very directional. But do not misuse this feeling, such as falling in love at first sight, which is very dangerous. Spiritual feelings can discern. Perhaps you will find it strange that I just mentioned the Holy Spirit, but now I am talking about evil spirits and demons.

Actually, there is nothing strange about it. Peter did the same teaching work. First, he said, Jesus, you are the Son of God. Jesus said, Yes, Peter, you speak correctly. It was my Father in heaven who revealed this to you. Then Jesus said, From now on, you will be called Peter, meaning little stone. I will build my church on this rock, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. No sooner had these words been spoken than Peter took a few steps forward, and Jesus said, I must go to Jerusalem to be crucified. Peter said, Lord, no! This should never happen to you. Then Jesus turned around and said, Get behind me, Satan! If it were me, I might not have been able to bear it. One second he is Peter, and the next second he becomes Satan. Is he Peter or Satan? Later, everyone noticed that Jesus said, You are thinking about human concerns, not God's. Explain spiritual things clearly. Thinking about human concerns is a trap. Only thinking about God's concerns can solve people's problems. Peter's example gives us a very good understanding that the same person can speak two kinds of words: one is the revelation from God and the other is the revelation from Satan. Are you confused?

So everyone has to be careful. If you are thinking about human concerns, it may seem like you are comforting someone, but it is coming from a demon. How many people are thinking about human concerns, such as giving someone face? I prayed for some people, but they were not healed. Yet they insist on saying they are better. Why do you want to deceive people? To think about my concerns, to give me face. So I think we need to deal with the flaw of considering human concerns. Thinking about human concerns releases the work of evil spirits. Sometimes people are speaking God's words, and sometimes they are speaking demonic words. Human words and demonic words are actually quite similar. If they are nonsensical demonic words, you can still tell them apart. The most terrifying thing is speaking human words. Our brothers and sisters preach the gospel to non-believing family members, and non-believers are likely to say considerate words: Can you speak some human words? Human words? Have you eaten? Are you working?

Talking about the mundane things of life, eating, drinking, and sleeping? Considering human concerns can release evil spirits, so idle talk is human talk. We need to know how to distinguish. Do not think that it is okay for two Christians to chat and do things together. It is easy to engage in idle talk, and human talk quickly falls into the trap of the devil. Then they begin to corrupt each other. If one is not careful, it is not easy for a person to walk in the will of God, but it is easy to follow human thoughts and casually speak human words. So everyone should understand that Peter was also like this, and Christians should be even more careful. However, some people will say, Pastor, do you mean that we cannot work together? Actually, people who have this idea mean, Pastor, does that mean we cannot do everything together? I am a little puzzled. There are similar words in the Bible. The devil also spoke like this: Is it true that I cannot eat from any tree in the garden? He thought that he was speaking on his own, but when Peter said those words, he did not know that the devil was speaking through him. Peter was completely unaware. If this brother tells me this, I can help him correct it. If I am not careful, I can easily fall into the trap too. If you are not firm in your heart, you can easily stray from God.

Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. (Galatians 6:1)

What does it mean to be tempted? When you serve a brother or sister, can you not speak? In the process of your conversation, it is easy to lead people astray and be tempted. You subconsciously feel that what is being said makes sense. Pastor Liu, how can you demand so much of the brothers and sisters? Such a request is like we are doing chores for others. Paul understood very well how these spiritual things operate. Spiritual people should be careful lest they be tempted. If you consult someone who is not very spiritual, Sister, we have been good friends for so many years, and I want to tell you something. Then the evil spirit begins to operate legally in the person's heart. The spiritual world is so amazing. If we humans fight with the devil, who has been on earth for at least thousands of years, how can a person who has lived for decades fight against a supernatural being who has lived for thousands of years? The devil is too cunning. Even if Zhuge Liang were alive, he would not be able to compete with the devil on equal terms. I have figured out that the devil is very good at speaking. The demons in people who are good at arguing are probably quite big. Demons can provide these people with the wisdom to argue, but it does not edify people in any way.

The Mouth Speaks What the Heart Is Full Of

What is it that fills your heart? Jesus said that the Pharisees were filled with the spirit of the serpent, the brood of vipers. The spirit of the serpent is very difficult to deal with. The spirit of the serpent is the most cunning of all spirits. The Pharisees were completely unaware, completely believing that they were serving God and maintaining God's work, and that everything they did was right. They even thought that Jesus was wrong. They were so miserably deceived by the devil! As a result, the Pharisees said, If we had lived in the days of the prophets, we would not have killed the prophets. Jesus said, This proves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets. If such powerful demons were among us, it would be difficult to deal with them, because even Jesus might not be able to outwit them. Headaches are easy to deal with with prayer, and cancer is not difficult to deal with, and making the lame walk is not difficult either! But dealing with the Pharisees is really challenging, and listening to what they say is even more troublesome. What fills a person's heart, Jesus means what spirit you are filled with. If you are filled with an evil spirit but do not know it, how many people will be corrupted by the speed at which your words spread?

Be careful. Healing and deliverance is a lifelong endeavor. Everyone really needs to be careful even if the other person is a Christian and they have been delivered, there may still be evil spirits hidden in their hearts that have not been completely released. Do not completely trust me either. You must return to the Bible in everything you do, so that there is a clear standard to follow. Constantly use God's word to renew and examine our own hearts. This is what we must do throughout our lives, although it is quite difficult. Looking back on the work we have done in the past, we have only cast out some small demons. In the past, our healing and deliverance was just a long time of praying in tongues. This is just a very small gift. We must begin to focus on attacking more difficult demons, and be especially careful to discern the words that people speak. We must consider God's will.

Avoid Idle Talk

Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. (Ephesians 5:18)

The words people speak can corrupt or edify. If you do not engage in idle talk but only speak words that edify, the devil will not have much power to harm through your words, and you will not corrupt others. We must always choose to speak words that edify.

But whoever has doubts is condemned if they eat, because their eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin. (Romans 14:23)

What is sin? Sin is the devil's handle. The way the devil operates is through sin, especially paying attention to speaking words that are not from faith, not from God. Words that do not edify are basically idle talk, either inviting the demons of idle talk or other demons. The Holy Spirit does not engage in idle talk.

It is easy to engage in idle talk when drunk. It is not easy to engage in idle talk when filled with the Holy Spirit. Try it. If you do not pray for a week, the words you speak will release corruption. Even frequent prayer may not be enough to withstand the devil's deception. If you do not pray often, you must carefully examine the words you speak. This is why I do not recommend that brothers and sisters eat, drink, and have fun together. Relationships built on these things must be built on unity in the Holy Spirit, praying together and serving God to build each other up. In the past, two sisters would make appointments to go to the gym. Later, when I spoke to them separately, I found that their words were full of corruption, releasing idle talk. Also, sisters who work together in beauty salons often engage in idle talk together, speaking words that are very logical, reasonable, and good, but they are actually idle talk. So Jesus is against idle talk. You can easily corrupt others without realizing it. Brothers and sisters, it is not that I am sensitive, nor that I have worries and fears. What I fear is that your life will be corrupted. I am just very sorry that the work I have done in your life will be wasted.

If you are willing to be corrupted, I cannot stop you. I am just very sorry that the work I have done in your life will be wasted. Everyone should understand my good intentions. It is not that I do not like to do things; I just do not want to create an environment where idle talk is spoken, to reduce and avoid the atmosphere of idle talk. God will use the idle talk you speak to condemn you or justify you. If you speak words from the Holy Spirit, you will be justified. If you speak idle talk from the devil, you will be caught in the devil's scheme without even knowing it, and you will ask me what is wrong and what the problem is? I cannot find any problem, but the problem is happening in the spiritual world. If you have any doubts, you can ask me.

Be Careful What You Put in Your Heart

The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21)

It is difficult to not speak what is in your heart. Be careful: Sister, I am going to tell you something! But don't tell anyone else! You should stay away from her. You need to know clearly how these evil spirits operate. They come in through the ears, they come in through the eyes, and the devil releases lies into the brain. In my battle with the devil, I have found that other than relying on the Holy Spirit and faith in God, there is basically no way to resist the devil's attacks. If your faith weakens, you will easily be defeated.

What is in a person's heart? The lusts, the innate and carnal evil desires. Once disputes arise, you will know what the problem is. Do not think that whispering is a sign of loyalty to others, or that you can say everything. Look at the results to see if you can inherit the kingdom of God. Do not say whispers or words that do not edify. Everyone must manage their own mouth. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

If we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us fill our hearts with the things of the Spirit. Thank the Lord for letting us be constantly filled with the Holy Spirit. Some people do not understand why we often pray in tongues. The benefits that the Holy Spirit brings to our hearts far outweigh what people study. Lust, speech, the tongue, complaining, and idle talk range from low-level battles to guiding principles. Be careful of emotional fluctuations, and resolve any unhappiness. If you do not resolve the food in the refrigerator, it will stink after a long time! Keeping it will release corruption, and God will discipline you.

Pastor's Conclusion

We must constantly fill ourselves with God's Spirit, and then use the words given by God to serve this generation. Do not serve people by engaging in idle talk, which cannot edify them. Even words from psychology, sociology, or worldly knowledge corrupt people. The words I speak are in accordance with the Bible. Those worldly concepts are secular things that come from the devil's tools for controlling this world. We must let God's Spirit fill our hearts, giving us fresh anointing and spiritual words to help us serve people. This is a wonderful thing in the process.

Sometimes there will be differences in church matters. We must first pray, then communicate, repeatedly, relying on the Holy Spirit until we are spiritually clear. The Holy Spirit can help us remove the garbage in our hearts, including me. Do not think too highly of yourself. We must overcome by the Holy Spirit and also act by the Holy Spirit, constantly dealing with the things that seem normal in people's eyes in the Holy Spirit. What seems normal in people's eyes is actually not normal. What God sees as normal is what is truly normal. Doing anything by the Holy Spirit is very effective, Amen!
