Get a systematic view from the picture

Let's look at Matthew Chapter 4, which I divide into 2 parts. Chapter 1-11 is the first part, and the second is from Chapter 12 to the end. This chapter talks about the victory and the ministry of Jesus. Matthew eliminated lots of details and focused on the most important points because he wanted to deliver the main content of the ministry of Jesus. We can conclude from Matthew that the main work of Jesus' ministry is to do the healing and deliverance and give some important teachings.

Today we need to do what Jesus did: heal the sick, cast out demons and evil spirits, and teach disciples. In Jesus' teaching, one of the most important lesson is to gain victory over temptation.The victory of Jesus can be boiled down to several parts. The ministry of Jesus includes selecting and training disciples, teaching people, healing the sick, and doing the deliverance. We all need to follow this pattern. Some time ago, one sister asked me how to spread gospel by inviting people to eat together. I disagreed with that. Then some one rebuked me, "Jesus also invited people to have dinner with him, right." But it is not the key point. The key point which Matthew has concluded is that Jesus spread the gospel through teaching, healing and deliverance.

What we need to learn is that we should get a systematic view of the Bible, get the outline, the key points of the Bible instead of just focusing on details so that we can build a framework of the Bible.

Build a godly logical system and overcome the temptation

Let's look at the victory of Jesus. If we can understand verse 1 to verse 11, we will know how we can win the victory through all the wisdom and understanding. If we cannot overcome and get the success, we will be very miserable, like a defeated country that had to concede territory and pay for war reparation. Remember, this is the rule, "the winner gets dominion, the loser becomes the ruled." If you want to be the ruler, you must win.

How did Jesus win the victory? Some people are not interested in it, and he just thought, "I was not the Jesus. It's none of my business. I was weak, and God will understand it." God won't understand and pamper this kind of weakness. He will understand and help those who admit their weakness but are eager to win through the faith in God, for God's power is made complete in our weakness.

Some people think they are weak and God is also weak, which brings shame to God's name. God could have helped you conquer and overcome, but you didn't believe that. Today, no matter under what circumstances, we must be victorious Christians.

Recently, one sister told me that she was ministering to a preacher who had been living a miserable life and he even can not afford a meal. She asked me how to help him. I was very shocked because few feel hard to live in Singapore or Malaysia. It is quite easy to find a job and earn some money, but he just couldn't. "The winner gets dominion; the loser becomes the ruled." If we Christians cannot overcome, we will be the slaves of demons and evil spirits. In this situation, he insisted he was serving God. I think what he needs is to know the words of God.

The reason for being defeated is disobeying God's words, bringing about many curses. If you are cursed, you will encounter many problems in your life. This preacher never listens to the words of God and if he doesn't change, his heart will be more and more hardened. People would say that there are too many God's words in the Bible, and they don't know how to put it into practice. We need to take the words of God into a holistic system. Without systematic knowledge of the Bible, we will get lost when we have conversations with the Devil.

Today I have found that many people don't know through all wisdom and understanding, which is a spiritual stronghold. I want to share with you some good news that we have been battling with the Spirit of religion and witchcraft, the spirits getting people's minds messed up. What we believe is not a religion; it is the road that leads to life.

We have some brothers and sisters who were from other churches, and I have found that the demons had defeated their church, and mostly, the main spirit is just the spirit of religion, which will make Christian Pharisees. If we cast out the spirit of religion, we will have a good thinking skill and have a clear mind, and by following the holy spirit, we can build a holistic system of God's Words.

The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing

Let's look at the following verses:

Then Jesus was led by the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the Devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread." Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"
Then the Devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. "If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down. For it is written: "'He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'"Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'"
Again, the Devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. "All this I will give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship me." Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'"Then the Devil left him, and angels came and attended him. (Matthew 4:4-11)

After John baptised Jesus, the holy spirit fell on Jesus and led him into the wilderness to be tempted. Why? To let Jesus overcome and defeat the Devil. When fasting forty days and forty nights, what was Jesus doing? He was praying, and after that, he was strengthened and empowered by the holy spirit. When a person conquers the flesh, they will be strong and vigilant spiritually. But if a person eats too much, they will probably be very slow.

When Jesus was hungry, the tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread." The Devil is very clever and smart. Can Jesus make stones become bread? Of course, he can! Bible says God is able to raise up the children for Abraham from stones, let alone change stones into bread, which is much easier for Jesus.

But Jesus didn't do that. He said, "Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God." His answer was so cool and so powerful. If you don't really know what we live on, you will probably make stones become bread. What is most important is that you must know that through understanding.

The Doctrine of Mingding holds on to the truth that we shall not live on bread but every word of God. Every word of God, means a holistic godly logical system, which will make us overcome and defeat the Devil. If the Devil said to you, "if you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread," what will you do? If you make these stones bread, you definitely have a different value and logic in your mind.

The fact is that Jesus did live without bread, but he didn't make stones into bread. Many Christians always say, can we survive only by believing God's words? I have so many problems in my workplace, can you help me solve them? I must say how stupid they are! Why did they come to church? Isn't it because they have encountered so many problems that made them burn up? Then I prayed for them and what happened? Problems disappear and things had been settled right? Interestingly, after experiencing the miraculous power and help from God, they were so quick to revert back to their previous life pattern and get insanely busy with their work and left God behind. Brothers and sisters, I really want to challenge you, if you living on Words of God, will you be short of cash, will you not able to afford the rent, will you live a poor life? Today I encourage you to have a try, if you believe and live on the Words of God, will you not live our prosperity?

Brothers and sisters, if you want to be victorious, you need to build a correct logical system in your mind, you will know living on the words of God will let us have life and have it more abundantly.

Jesus won the batter in the first round. Then the Devil used the second scheme.

Love God and overcome the spirit of religion

Then the Devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. "If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down. For it is written:"'He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'" Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'" (Matthew 4:5-6)

The Devil used the verses of Psalm 91. During the pandemic, many Christians like to use the verses of this chapter, and the Devil also likes to use them. But different people will get different outcomes. Those who overcome have overcome the pandemic, but those who failed have been afflicted. The Devil also used the verses, so it doesn't necessary work if you read or use the verses of Bible. To those who fail to overcome the Devil's temptation, this verse has nothing to do with them.

We need to overcome, we need to be victorious, you can use the verses of Psalms 91 because there is another one sentence, "becuase he loves me." Today do we really love God with all our hearts? If we love other things heartedly, it will bring lots of trouble. The Devil used this verse to tempt Jesus; if Jesus took it, he will jump from the temple and hit the ground.

But Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put theLord your God to the test.'" (Matthew 4:7)

If a person doesn't know God, they will put God to the test. The Devil tempted Jesus by using the verses of the Bible, let alone tempted Christians. If a person doesn't have a holistic logical system and just picks some verses from the Bible, they will definitely fall into the Devil's scheme.

This part is about the spirit of religion, which make people prove to God by doing something. Testing God is not God want, and if a person jumped from a high place, he will probably fall to pieces. We must be very cautious and vigilant because we often do things that seem like we do out of faith but actually just tempt God.

For example, someone likes to pray before they are going to do some business, and in the end, he lost lots of money. Then they asked God, "God, I have found deep peace when I am praying. Isn't it a sign from you?" This is the act of testing God. We must know what we live on is God instead of doing something to let God give us what we want.
The "faith" of the religion is to test God, which is the faith of Jesus. What Jesus did is very down to earth and can solve people's problems. What's the point of jumping down from a high place, to prove that God will hold you?

In the end, the Devil was defeated again by the holistic and clear logical system of Jesus. Though the tempter used the verse of Bible, we should know Bible also says, "Do not put the Lord your God to the test." It is really important to learn the words of God and build a holistic logical system.

Live out the destiny and overcome the pride.

Again, the Devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. "All this I will give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship me." Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'" Then the Devil left him, and angels came and attended him. (Matthew：4:8-10）

Jesus' answer tell us what we live on. What is called Mingding? Mingding is what we live for and die for. We must know Mingding through all understanding so that we will know that life is meaningless, and you will have deep rest in your mind. People who don't have knowledge care so much about living. They want to grab everything, making them feel anxious, and worried. Then they come to church, "please, please pray for me!" Nowadays, there are so many things that make Christians a bundle of nerves, family, work, boss, and comments from others, but all these things are meaningless!

You must know the purpose of living in this world. MindDing, means destiny, purpose, and meaning of our life in Jesus Christ. God let us be born to this world and he has a big plan on us, but if we don't follow the logic and ways of Jesus, we won't say, "Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only."

Those who overcome will be in the fulness of the blessings and honour

The Devil was defeated and he left Jesus, and angels came and attended him. Jesus came to this world and lived in the flesh, when he overcame the Devil, angels came and attended him. How great our Jesus is! All the angels applaud for the victory of him and they will also clap for our victory over the Devil. In our life, there are 3 area we need to overcome. First, we need to overcome the lust of the flesh; second, the lust of the eyes ; and third, the pride of life.

John familiarised himself with the concept of overcoming and being victorious. When we have the logic of Jesus, we will understand lots of things. When the Devil wants to confuse and destroy you, he will be defeated and you will be the light of those locked in the darkness.

What extraordinary victories of our Jesus Christ. I wish every one of us can overcome the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, and our life will be very simple and peaceful. "The winner gets dominion, and the loser becomes the ruled." If we overcome, we will be honorable prince and princess in God's eyes, and we will live in the fulness of God's blessings. All the best!
