I have made you like God to Pharaoh

Good morning everyone. Today, let's look at Exodus chapter 7. This is going to be the exciting start of Exodus. I assume all of us have read through Exodus chapter 7. After reading through it, what can we figure out to be the main topic of this chapter? If you ask me, I will give something like this: I have made you like God to Pharaoh. So this is very exciting. If God said to you: "I will make you like God in front of the worldly people", what would you think? Would it be very exciting?

Then the Lord said to Moses, "See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet. You are to say everything I command you, and your brother Aaron is to tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go out of his country. But I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and though I multiply my signs and wonders in Egypt, he will not listen to you. Then I will lay my hand on Egypt, and with mighty acts of judgment, I will bring out my divisions, my people, the Israelites. (Exodus 7:1-4 NIV)

God wanted to bring the army of God into a division. This is God's script. God already made a script, and in it, God will harden to the heart of Pharaoh. And God will lay his mighty hand on the Egyptians, and then God will bring the Israelites out of Egypt and form a great army. Before any of these things happened, God already told Moses that it would happen.

But the problem is this: many people have forgotten. This script was told to Moses many times, and this was another time. And God will make Moses like God to the world, the Egyptians, even the king of Egypt. So what is there to fear about? But in the human point of view, the human perspective, this is the king of Egypt, with all the power to kill Moses, to kill Aaron. And Moses and Aaron had no weapons, no power, no army to back them up. But they have God, and God will make them like God in front of the Egyptians.

So they went to see the king of Egypt. "Who are you?" They were just normal people, and they wanted to see the king? Amazingly, the king agreed to see them.

So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the Lord commanded. Aaron threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a snake. Pharaoh then summoned wise men and sorcerers, and the Egyptian magicians also did the same things by their secret arts: Each one threw down his staff and it became a snake. But Aaron's staff swallowed up their staffs. Yet Pharaoh's heart became hard, and he would not listen to them, just as the Lord had said. (Exodus 7: 10-13 NIV)

Just as the Lord had said, the script had already been given. But you and I are also given a script. This script foretold that all of us are like God in this world. But the problem is this. Human beings are like human beings. Even God spoke to us many times: the moment we faced our customers, challenges, bosses, stakeholders. But we started to question: "Are we like God? Like Him to these people?" And we start to get nervous; this is the problem. If you really think your destiny is to do business, to do a job, it is to make a living, not to bring the army of God out of Egypt; yes, it is true. You will not be like God in front of worldly people. But if we take on a destiny like Moses, we are assigned by God to set up a church, to lead his people out of the world, and to form a great army in the spiritual world, and God has the power. He is the God Almighty.

The only issue is: what are we living for?

More signs and wonders will come because we are the people who are like Moses.

The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “When Pharaoh says to you, ‘Perform a miracle,’ then say to Aaron, ‘Take your staff and throw it down before Pharaoh,’ and it will become a snake.” So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the Lord commanded. Aaron threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a snake. Pharaoh then summoned wise men and sorcerers, and the Egyptian magicians also did the same things by their secret arts: Each one threw down his staff, and it became a snake. But Aaron’s staff swallowed up their staffs. Yet Pharaoh’s heart became hard, and he would not listen to them, just as the Lord had said. Exodus 7:8-13 NIV
God had given His power to Moses and Aaron, so God used them to fight against the Pharaoh. They commanded Pharaoh and his officials to let the people of God out of Egypt. Even wise men, sorcerers, and magicians could perform magic and miracles. They could also perform signs & wonders, but they would not have the final say. The script had already been done by the Lord, and the Lord had more superpower than any spiritual being in the world. Do you know what happened?

Hardened heart comes from disbelief

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Pharaoh’s heart is unyielding; he refuses to let the people go. Go to Pharaoh in the morning as he goes out to the river. Confront him on the bank of the Nile and take in your hand the staff that was changed into a snake.” Exodus 7: 8-9 NIV

When God mentioned to Moses about the staff, it reminded him about the power and authority God had given him. Moses was like God to Pharoah.

Then say to him, ‘The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to say to you: Let my people go, so that they may worship me in the wilderness. But until now, you have not listened. This is what the Lord says: By this, you will know that I am the Lord: With the staff that is in my hand, I will strike the water of the Nile, and it will be changed into blood. The fish in the Nile will die, and the river will stink; the Egyptians will not be able to drink its water.’ “Exodus 7:16-18 NIV

The Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt—over the streams and canals, over the ponds and all the reservoirs—and they will turn to blood.’ Blood will be everywhere in Egypt, even in vessels of wood and stone.” Moses and Aaron did just as the Lord had commanded. He raised his staff in the presence of Pharaoh and his officials and struck the water of the Nile, and all the water was changed into blood. The fish in the Nile died, and the river smelled so bad that the Egyptians could not drink its water. Blood was everywhere in Egypt. Exodus 7: 19-20 NIV

These were what the Lord had done. Let me share with you. When God told Moses that He would make him like God to Pharoah, God was not bringing blessings to Egypt. God was not bringing good things, the good fortune, to Egypt. God was only bringing disaster to Egypt. If you read through the Bible, you would find that from the beginning of the Bible to the end, God always brought disaster to the world. You probably will be thinking a lot of questions if you are the prophet or if you are a man of God on why God brought such a disaster?

God will bring disaster to worldly people

If you are a very good man with moral standards of right and wrong. I am not too sure if you can do the job like Moses. Can you imagine all the rivers, whether they were big or small, turned into blood? Everywhere in Egypt was smelly. People could not drink. Then you started to worry about the babies in Egypt. “The babies may die, and they need milk and water to survive.” Was God concerned about this? The only concern God had was bringing His people out of Egypt. Let me tell you, if you are a good man, the Almighty God cannot use you because God will bring disasters into the world.

When you bought insurance, in the user’s agreement, they always stated it would not cover the act of God. Do you know what is the act of God is? Is it a blessing? “No, they are disasters.” When an earthquake occurred, some people said was this the act of God? Then you started to ponder if you are a good man and it will be difficult for you to accept the fact. It is very hard to understand, especially many people comment that God is a good God. Many questions will flood your mind if God is a good God, why is God bringing disaster to the world? God is God, and whether you can accept it or not or whether you believe it or you do not believe it. We cannot change it. God is a good God because God is good only to His people. If you belong to Him, you love Him, and he will not bring disaster onto you. Beware, if you stop God’s people out of the world, disaster will be upon you. This is also the reason why it is very difficult for us to comprehend and understand. God, where are you? Why are there so many disasters? God is the one who brought the disaster to the world.

Obey God and follow His plan, and you will be blessed

If God uses you, you will follow His instructions. “Bring the staff, use the authority, strike the water, and the water will change to blood.” It can be quite difficult to understand. We said God loves the world, and yes, God loves the world, but it all depends on if you listen or not listen to God. That is the main problem.
Look at the Israelites; when they were freed from Egypt and occupied the land for less than 1000 years, they lost their country, they lost their land. Israelites were invaded by many people and scattered all over the world. Do you know why? “You must make a choice to go along with God, or you do not go. You can obey or disobey God’s plan. If you follow His plan, you will be blessed, and if you go against His plan, so sorry and good luck to you.”

I had been observing many Christians; they thought by attending the church, they possessed immunity from the act of God. Do not believe in it. Attending a church does not represent your love for God, or you are the army of God. From my experiences of attending a local church for many years, I noticed that the Army of God was seldom mentioned in the church. The church talked about family and taught many other things but hardly mentioned that the church was the Army of God.

Choose to be like Moses and live for our destiny

Many Christians prayed and did not see God’s answer them. I did not see many Christians were like God. When I saw them under bondage and the curse, I started to doubt. I studied the Bible, and I figured out one thing. There were two types of Christians. The first type of Christians is God made them like Moses. They would be above and not underneath. They would be the head and not the tail. The second type of Christians is those God made them underneath and way below the worldly people. They were not the head, and they were the tail. They were not above but underneath. As Christians, you can make a choice to be like Moses, have the destiny, and live for God. Fulfilling the destiny of bringing God’s people out of the world and forming a great Army of God. However, Christians can also choose to live without the destiny of God and live a life of day-to-day nitty-gritty lifestyle. The choice is yours; do you want to live like Moses and Aaron, or do you want to be an Egyptian, or do you choose to be a slave of the Egyptians?

If you do not carry the destiny and are not in the plan of Almighty God, you will not have the power or authority given by God. Outside destiny, there are no blessings. That is why we called the Doctrine of destiny; our destiny is to live for God and die for God. We came to the earth, to the world for God, just like Moses. That is what I have figured out, and our church wants to do the same as Moses. God desires to form the Army of God, free His people out of the world, give His power and authority. The power of the Holy Spirit will be given to all of us to combat the Pharoah and the King of the world. God will make you, and I like Him. That is exactly why many miracles, signs, and wonders are happening among us.

Bear in mind if we carry the destiny, God sent us to set His people free from Egypt and the world. No matter how powerful Pharoah is, God has made us like Him in front of the Pharoah in front of the world. So what are there to fear? No matter how powerful the devil is or how powerful the world is, we carry the power of Almighty God and surely will bring God’s people out of Egypt. That is our destiny. That is our faith. May the Lord bless you. Thank you.
