Introduction:
I have been reading a book recently called The Power to Overthrow the World, which mentions the idea of where God's will lies. What is God's purpose for us Christians? After reading it, I began to feel that many people have wrongly understood the concept of being set apart. Too many Christians think that being set apart means being as isolated from the world as possible, that Christians should live in seclusion in order to be set apart. In fact, the original sacredness of being set apart has become the remaining part. Christians have become the remaining group. But God has never changed His mind. God hopes that His people can be in this generation. In fact, throughout past history, God has always longed for His people to be influential enough to turn around the people in this generation who do not know God. Christians should become a force in this generation, able to reverse many of the chaotic scenes in this generation, influence more souls, and bring them out of their迷途 into blessing. Throughout history, God has longed to raise up more influential people to do this. God chose Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt; God chose David for the welfare of the Israelites; God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, because He did not wish for anyone to perish.
Originally, God's intention was never just on one person. God longs to raise up a person through whom this person can be like light in the darkness, like salt in tasteless water, able to release that subverting force, influencing and even transforming those around them who live in chaos, hardship, oppression, and disease. The so-called power to overthrow the world is actually a group of people like us, a group of people who long to transform this generation with the power of God. And the achievement of all these things is the effect of faith. Faith is the key to releasing subversive power. Any great person of faith is a vessel chosen by God to subvert that generation. In this recent period of ministry, I have increasingly discovered the great effect that faith brings to the transformation of a person's life. The core of shepherding is to build people's faith. Faith can release the power to subvert, transforming a life that was originally weak and unable to overcome into a strong life. Faith can subvert those things in a person's life that do not conform to God's will, and renew a person's life. How exciting is this subversive power! The one in the Bible who possesses this subversive power the most is our Lord Jesus. Today, let us look at a story about our Lord Jesus.
Scripture:
John 2:11, This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory. And his disciples believed in him.
Prayer:
Hallelujah, Lord Jesus, we ask you to constantly restore, restore the glorious life that you originally promised in the lives of our brothers and sisters! Our lives must shine forth, give our brothers and sisters a determination to long to turn this generation around, and let our brothers and sisters enter into your plan and become powerful people serving your kingdom, so that we may become a people of faith. In our families, in the workplace, in schools, and in our circles of life, we must become people of faith. We must become a group of people who show God's glory, and may you work in our lives and make us subversive people.
Background of the Scripture:
This scripture has a story background. Before this story, Jesus actually recruited his first disciples, and after recruiting these first disciples, Jesus performed the first miracle mentioned in this scripture. What kind of thing is this? It is that Jesus and his disciples were invited to a banquet, and during the banquet, the wine ran out. Jesus' mother came to seek Jesus' help, and Jesus turned a jar of water into wine, and the guests at the banquet said that it was good wine, even better than the wine that was originally wine.
Just such a story, first I saw a lot of Bible study materials online, and these Bible study materials are very interesting in studying this matter. Some Bible study materials are studying whether Jesus' mother Mary was in charge of this banquet! Many people议论say, well, it should be! Otherwise, why would she care about whether there is wine? Otherwise, Mary loves to drink wine? Everyone had a heated discussion on such a topic. Some people also议论what kind of wine Jesus turned out was good wine? Many people studied that because of the law, plus the knowledge of good wine in that era, what Jesus turned out was actually grape juice, and it was very pure grape juice, and then everyone discussed the purity of this grape juice a lot.
You may find these jokes after listening to them, but in fact, many people really read the Bible like this. It is a very悲哀thing if you cannot read the Bible into God's heart. Because if you cannot read God's heart, you will insult God's original intention of writing the Bible all at once. This book records the experience of our Heavenly Father. Doesn't God hope that we can understand His heart and emulate Him?
Then such a story is recorded in the Bible, and the Lord Jesus did such a thing, what message does He want to convey to us? Only by understanding the message that God wants to convey to us can we do it. When we do it, we will show God's glory as the scripture says, and then we can encourage the faith of the people around us! Originally, God wanted to encourage our faith through this story, so that we can act accordingly, and then we can encourage the faith of others. Then faith is the theme of this story! Today, let us see the subversive power of faith!
Let Faith Overthrow Our Status and Influence
When we look closely at this story, you will find that Jesus' mother has a change in attitude. She first ran to Jesus and said, There is no wine! At this time, you speculate that Jesus' mother has a very anxious mentality, even with some complaining tone. Very无奈, then Jesus said, Woman, what does this have to do with me? My time has not yet come. Many people say that Jesus did not want to take care of this matter, but in fact, it is not. The reason is very simple, because Jesus later took care of this matter, and Jesus would not do what he did not want to do. Then through his mother's change of attitude, you will also find that her mother originally had an anxious and complaining attitude, but turned into saying, Whatever he tells you, do it. Through such a simple conversation, you can find that although Jesus is Mary's son, his words are spoken with the influence to change people's attitudes. Mary's originally anxious and complaining state of mind disappeared, and instead there was a kind of faith that things would be resolved.
You know that faith will subvert our position in the family. There are still many brothers and sisters in our church who are still persecuted by many family members in the process of believing in the Lord. Many brothers and sisters asked me this question this week about how to turn their families around, or how to solve conflicts between family members' beliefs. So how should we do it? I think we should emulate the Lord Jesus. Only when the words you say are powerful will they affect your family. The key is to improve our status in the family. We do this not to腰胁our parents. When our status is improved, our words will affect them, and if they do as we do, the problem will be solved.
This week I taught佳奕 how to be a leader. In fact, a leader is influence. Of course, influence must be in accordance with God's will and not in accordance with God's will. That is, influence that is not in accordance with God's will will also be a leader, such as Hitler, Tojo Hideki, and so on. Of course, we must seek influence that is in accordance with God's will. Then it must be in accordance with God's will to improve our status in the family and then influence our family to enter God's kingdom. Then in this process is a test of faith.
Then this week I heard that one of our sisters, whose uncle was very close to her, wanted to beat our sister because she was unwilling to go back to上坟 for the dead. Then our sister's mother also felt that if her daughter did not even go to the grave, she would not sacrifice herself if she died, and said that our sister was不孝. Then this sister came to ask me how to deal with it. Later I found that there is only one way to go, that is, either be transformed by them, or we influence them and bring them into God's kingdom. Jesus successfully transformed his own mother. Mary thought she had encountered a problem, and Jesus in fact criticized her, didn't she know that this was not a problem for me at all in the kingdom of God? Didn't she know that there is nothing impossible with God? Then Mary was transformed. And the result of the transformation is that a problem is solved.
Let Faith Disrupt Problem-Solving Approaches
Through this chapter, we must understand how God solves problems. We must know that God is a God of creation! From the first chapter of the Bible, we should understand God's way of solving problems. In the beginning, the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep. How did God solve this problem? God did not remove the emptiness, nor did He remove the darkness. Instead, God solved the problem of emptiness and chaos by creating light and then creating many other things. A person of faith solves problems, never in a state of being overwhelmed by the issue, because the power of creation will make the problem disappear.
Let’s look at the absence of wine. How would someone without creativity solve this problem? Their most straightforward reaction would be to go and buy some wine. However, solving a problem in a non-creative way has a very high degree of intensity, speed, and risk. Buying wine requires going out to buy it; if the place is far away, the guests may leave before you get back. Whether you can buy it is a problem. So, a non-creative problem-solving mode is likely to create more problems. However, the creative way to solve the problem is excellent: fill the jars with water, and the water turns into wine. Can you imagine how far apart these two methods are? The speed, intensity, and precision are very inspiring. And the problem is solved very beautifully.
There are many creative problem-solving events in the Bible. How did God lead Noah to solve the flood problem? By creating an ark. Moses solved the problem of managing the people by creating a management model (imagine that at that time, the Israelites had six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty men 20 years and older who could fight). Today, our worship and praise come from David's creation of a 24-hour worship and praise choir.
Today, we must also begin to learn in our work, life, and study to rely on faith to disrupt the way we solve problems. Start to restore the creative power of God in our lives. Next, our church will create more of our own Bible study books, create more hymns, shoot testimonial videos, build our own radio station, create our teaching platform, and develop courseware for guiding courses. All these innovative products will be used to solve the faith problems of our brothers and sisters. The problem-solving power brought about by these innovations will be very efficient. For example, the development of this guidance course is to solve the problem of low student acceptance rate caused by cramming teaching. Through this guidance and discussion process, everyone's ability to absorb and learn is improved.
Hebrews 11:1, Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Faith is the foundation for achieving what is hoped for and the proof of what is to come. Faith is not believing after things are accomplished. Instead, faith is the key to making things happen. We find that many Christians cannot grasp the essence of faith, which is believing that those promises recorded in the Bible that have not yet happened will happen.
Let Faith Disrupt the Material World
Have you noticed that Jesus turned water into wine? Water's chemical formula is H2O, and wine's chemical formula is ethanol, CH3CH2OH. It's a complete qualitative change. Water has no carbon element, but such a thing happened. This is a complete renewal process. Recently, while praying for some patients, such as those with blood diseases and skin diseases, there was a sudden inspiration from the spirit of God. God wants to heal these people's diseases by changing their blood and skin. How does this change occur? This is the miraculous work of the Spirit of God, like how water becomes wine. You won't see a test tube with water, some carbon elements added, heated, and a chemical reaction producing alcohol. The Spirit of God miraculously does these works.
Romans 1:20, For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. There is a reason why Jesus did such a thing as turning water into wine. This paved the way for Jesus to perform many healing miracles later. Healing is the result of the operation of the Spirit of God, which is also part of God's creation. When your sickness is healed and you experience the power of God, you are without excuse. But in the whole process, many things happen in our bodies that we cannot see.
Recently, I saw a testimony of healing on 7G.TV, a patient with ankylosing spondylitis was healed. This disease is very painful, so painful that they cannot walk. The cause is the lack of certain factors in the immune system, and when they are healed, these factors miraculously appear. From a material, scientific point of view, this is impossible, but God's eternal power can do it, and God's divinity is to heal the sick. We will find that faith can disrupt the material world. This reminds me of a testimony from my aunt, who is also in South Korea. One day, after taking a bath, her entire upper body suddenly became immobile. In that testimony, a girl suddenly became immobile and developed ankylosing spondylitis. Because the girl did not know God at that time and committed many sins for many years, she only experienced healing after believing in the Lord. Fortunately, my aunt had a nephew and a daughter in South Korea who already believed in the Lord. We prayed for her, and after a few hours of prayer, she was completely healed and is still doing well today.
Let Faith Disrupt Numb Hearts
Above, we talked about how faith can disrupt the material world. Here, we must see that faith can also disrupt numb hearts. In the book Zhuangzi. Tian Zifang, there is a saying, The greatest sorrow is greater than the death of the heart, and the death of man is secondary. What does it mean? It means that the saddest thing is to be so depressed and despondent that one cannot extricate oneself. The heart is like dead ashes, and the mind is dull and numb. If you look carefully at the people around us, how many of our family members are in a state of dullness, numbness, and waiting to die? Can you imagine the helplessness and frustration people feel when they encounter difficulties? Even if today it's just an accident of no wine, the person who set up the banquet is already very headache. Facing such a sudden situation is very helpless.
How many people in our generation live in this kind of helpless situation? Recently, these brothers and sisters who have poured into the church have problems with marriage and love, problems with diseases, and problems with life and finances. There is really no way to deal with these situations! Over time, problems cannot be solved, and people become dull, then numb, and then live with problems and pain. Today, I want to tell you good news: our God will completely disrupt our numb hearts through our faith. Can you imagine the changes in the hearts of those in charge of the synagogue and the disciples of Jesus when Jesus did such a thing? Originally, those disciples were probably discussing the matter of not having wine, even with a little complaint. The person in charge of the banquet was probably suffering. When Jesus turned the water into wine, their hearts were shocked. Jesus is so divine! Jesus can solve our problems!
Genesis 1:28 says, Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. In the English Bible, subdue means conquer. Why does God promise that we will conquer this earth? Doesn't it mean that God promises that we will solve the problems on this earth? If there is no problem, where does the conquest come from? Today, when we are on this earth, when we face the problems that this earth creates for us, do we choose to escape, with a dead heart, or do we motivate ourselves and use faith in God to disrupt this state of mind and deal with these problems?
Conclusion: Build a Church with the Most Disruptive Power!
We want to become the most disruptive church. We will not only disrupt the problems in our own lives, but we will also help more individuals, more churches, and more communities to disrupt the problems that exist within them. Brothers and sisters, let us build together! Bring down the glory of God, transform this generation, and accomplish God's immeasurable grace and glory in our lives!
