I. Introduction

Good day to everyone! Today, we continue with our series on wisdom and understanding. A life without wisdom and understanding is a tragedy, marked by foolishness and self-destruction. If you take a close look around, you'll see that people are often the cause of their own downfall. A single thought can lead to ruin. I've ministered to many cancer patients, and if you've ever encountered one, you'll notice that their logical framework is quite peculiar. They ruin themselves, spending their time dwelling on discomfort. They feel discomfort, and that discomfort becomes real.

This real discomfort is not just emotional; it's physical as well, compounded by the effects of chemotherapy and radiation. The problem lies in the fact that people ruin themselves throughout their lives, yet they consider themselves great. They are great at undermining themselves. Know that the moment one starts thinking too highly of themselves, they become easily hurt. The degree of emotional pain is directly proportional to one's inflated self-importance. It's a grand foolishness, foolish to the point of grandeur.

Today, my topic is Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master's table, which speaks to the wisdom of a Canaanite woman. She described herself as a dog, but I believe she's a step above me. I'm dog excrement, she at least made it to dog status. There was a sister who, from childhood, was determined to be respected. You might wonder why she picked that goal. The result was that when playing with other children, she felt hurt by a lack of respect, and this led to repeated disappointment. She wanted to do things well, but failed; she aimed to be a top student, but ended up as more of a slacker.

Then, back at home, she would clench her little fists, determined to succeed. However, the outcome never matched her resolve, leading to more disappointment and setbacks. She released self-destructive thoughts repeatedly, eventually giving up entirely, becoming a complete and utter loser. Many people fit this description; it's not just one person, so don't take it personally. When we met this sister, we found her endearing, utterly devoid of the ability to distinguish good from evil. She was easygoing because she had no aspirations, no expectations, and no demands for honor. She was like a dead pig unafraid of boiling water. It was a good state, devoid of any discernment between good and evil. Without this discernment, she was not picky, kind, and a typical good person.

Someone typed, That's me. You see, there are many like this. This person, like a dead pig unafraid of boiling water, later came to the Lord and was revived. However, with this revival came other issues. A loser must traverse a path to become the image of God. This path is fraught with challenges, and all the old problems resurface. If I tell them they're wrong or that what they're doing is useless, they get angry. Then it’s over. If I say what you are doing is wrong, that is also wrong, they respond What? Are you looking down on me? Are you criticizing me?” When told something is useless, they take offense. Why? Their pride and fragile ego are awakened again. A fragile ego is quite destructive.

What is a strong ego? A strong ego is like Jesus' ego. Are you often contentious in your heart? If you consider yourself dog excrement, why would you be bothered? You wouldn't need to be. The way we communicate also changes. If I were to record these conversations, you would find them amusing. I ask them if they understand and they pause for thirty seconds, sometimes up to two minutes, before saying, I understand, I understand. Hearing this, I know the attitude is off. These conversations are really tiring. At times, I want to punch them to make them wake up.

The reality is that people crave honor but don't receive it. Instead, they receive ruin. It's a bitter existence. Someone as capable as I am—and I am quite capable—considers himself dog excrement. If someone glances at me dismissively, glares at me, or insults me, it doesn't matter! Why are people so easily hurt? Is it a tofu heart, a glass heart, or a strawberry heart? These kinds of mindsets have become the basis for many novels. Have you read any novels? One moment someone is wearing a stained Meituan delivery uniform, a hat, riding a small electric scooter, and the next they become a CEO of a Fortune 500 company. After reading this story, you feel inspired, like you've been transported!

If you create one, it would definitely be popular because there are so many people harboring this hope. This kind of thing is quite interesting, tricking many people.

One of our sisters typed, I love watching this kind of stuff, it's so satisfying! She is already very involved in the story. I wonder why the director hasn’t found you yet. If the director found you, your performance would be so real! Someone else typed, Rebirth of the Empress, My goodness. Thank you for your responses. It seems this has a broad social base, that so many believe in this. There is another sister in our midst whose story is worth sharing. Suddenly, she disappeared for six months, unreachable. We didn't know what had happened to her, but later she told us. She said, Teacher, you know what? Initially, I intended to go into secluded cultivation. After six months, I would make a brilliant entrance, and you would all look at me in amazement.

That was a good plan, to study hard. but after less than a few days, she could no longer continue. Then she began to persevere, watching those novels. The country girl became the Queen Mother of the West, roaming in dreams. Reality was too harsh. When the six months finally arrived, she still couldn't make a brilliant entrance; she was still a loser. If she continued to press on, she was afraid she couldn't hold out any longer, so she still needed the pastor to give her some faith. She reached out to the pastor once more, feeling weary in her heart. But when she reappeared, she was still the same. Aren't most such stories written this way? How much people long to be respected, how much they yearn to make a brilliant entrance. The problem is, the more people yearn to be respected, the more they undermine themselves. Instead of focusing their efforts on doing things right, on improving step by step steadily and practically.

Today, you may have already risen to a high position. You may have even become the CEO of a Fortune 500 company. But people like to grasp at empty reputations, undermining themselves. There seems to be a rule in this world that the more people try to prove they are talented, the more they prove they are fools. Ponder that slowly; always trying to prove oneself, proving again and again, but failing to prove it. The more you try to prove you are talented, the more you prove you are a fool. Always wanting to make a fortune, but ending up in debt. Because you have money, you have status in the family, and everyone must respect you. In the end, it's still that same little electric scooter. Do you think that adding a Mercedes logo to a small electric scooter makes it a Maserati? Often, people fall into this trap. Often, people are cheated because of this.

The more you seek respect, the more you receive humiliation; the more you want money, the more you lose. That is how the devil deceives people. So I developed a bit of cleverness, I invented a dog excrement theory. How wisely I live! Try it today, and if you contradict me, I'm fine. Do you think that when I am contradicted I go home and feel hurt? I don't, I am invulnerable as I am doing so good! Who can steal the joy in my heart? No one. Because my hope is in God, and because I am just dog excrement. Surely that is invulnerable, so this dog excrement theory is great!

My dog excrement theory seems to be a level higher than the Canaanite woman's dog theory. Do you think it's lower? No, it's higher. The Canaanite woman we're discussing today is remarkable; she sought Jesus to heal her child. I believe that this Canaanite woman had already spent almost all of her savings to treat her child. You rarely see parents abandoning a sick child. The weaker the child, the more the parents love them. It's a strange thing. There are many stories of spending money on treatment, but ultimately failing to improve the condition.

One day, Jesus was passing by. She was a Canaanite, though. The Israelites saw the Canaanites as dog excrement, and the Canaanites saw the Israelites as dog excrement as well. They each thought themselves superior. But this Canaanite woman cried out, Son of David, heal my child! She followed behind, crying every day. The Bible doesn't say how many days, but she followed behind, crying and crying. Jesus' disciples said, Look how annoying she is, how annoying the Canaanites are. Send her away! But Jesus said, The food is for the children, not for you, the Canaanite woman. Then the Canaanite woman said something that is the topic for us today: Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master's table. Isn't that remarkable? Remarkable! If it were you, there's a high probability you wouldn't have that wisdom. You would say, What? Are you looking down on me? Why are you calling me a dog? I have to argue with you.

I am telling you that this woman said she was a dog, and even dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master's table. Today, we will discuss this topic. I hope you all understand that this is called wisdom. Without wisdom and understanding, things become troublesome. If the Canaanite woman had argued with Jesus, everything would have been ruined. This is wisdom. As a result, did her child get healed? Yes, her child was healed. I ask you, how much money did healing her child save? At least one million. Isn't that remarkable? What's wrong with acting like a dog? Nothing, it is not a problem. But some people get entangled in this. Many people say that Jesus didn't really consider her a dog. Whether He really considered her a dog or pretended to consider her a dog is not important. What matters is not what that means or that you were called a dog, but it is more about your reaction.

II. Scripture

A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.” Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, because she is crying out after us.” He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.” The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said. He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.” “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.” Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment. (Matthew 15:22-28)

Remarkable, so remarkable, we must learn it!

III. Prayer

Let's pray together: Lord Jesus, today let us receive this heavenly wisdom; Lord Jesus, today let us imitate this Canaanite woman, and may we receive grace from You; Lord Jesus, grant us intelligence, grant us wisdom, let us be filled with the full knowledge of You in understanding, let us know the effect of faith! Because of our faith in You, open the windows of heaven, pour out Your blessings upon us, let it overflow into our laps, let your grace be abundantly poured out upon us, and let us receive the benefits of this gospel! Amen!

IV. Scripture Background

The background of this passage is particularly interesting because Jesus spoke these important words just before it.

What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them. (Matthew 15:11)

Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. (Matthew 15:17-18)

For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. These are what defile a person; but eating with unwashed hands does not defile them. (Matthew 15:19-20)

What does this mean? Don't you understand? From verses 11 to 20, what enters the mouth does not defile a person, but what comes out of a person's mouth defiles them. Evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. These are what defile a person; but eating with unwashed hands does not defile them. And before that, what happened? Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. You can recognize a person’s inner logic from their speech. For example, evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. All these things we think in our hearts are said through our mouths.

I'll give you an example. Sometimes, when ministering to people, I deliberately say something hurtful, but I often find that people don't understand. What do I say? I say, Grow well, and do whatever you want later. Then they start to have a peculiar reaction inside. I won't describe the details. It's an attitude of wanting to argue with me. I say, This is so foolish. Then they say a bunch of words, and I say, These words are foolish. Why? Because everyone's inner logic says that they're right. No matter how foolish a person is, they believe they are right. A person who is foolish to an extreme degree still thinks they are right. On the contrary, I often think I haven't gotten it right.

So Jesus said that what comes out of a person's mouth defiles them. Carefully record the words that come out of your mouth. If you can't see what's wrong, I can help you analyze. If you don't want me to analyze for you, analyze it slowly yourself; that will be your transformation. Therefore, a person's words and facial expressions are a reaction to their inner logic. I have a bad habit. I am particularly pained when serving such foolish people. And you have to be extra careful, or you might get bitten. Later, I found out that Jesus did the same thing. The things that came out of the Pharisees' mouths were a reaction to what was inside. That's why Jesus called them a brood of vipers, because the inside is dirty. No matter how you package it, paper can't contain fire.

At this moment, a Canaanite woman suddenly appears. She became a teaching tool for Jesus to educate the disciples. Jesus gave a demonstration to show the disciples what people have inside. The Canaanite woman cried out behind him, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly. Aren't you someone who casts out demons? Jesus simply ignored her, not saying a word. The Canaanite woman knew Jesus was ignoring her, but she still cried out. The Bible only wrote this sentence, but in reality, she probably said hundreds or thousands of sentences, She was making noise. Jesus said let the disciples sit down so that I will teach you a lesson, the woman was there crying and it was impossible to teach. The noise as if they were remodelling near the neighbours’ houses was overwhelming and she kept shouting. Annoyed by that, the disciples told Jesus to send her away.

Then Jesus said something that seemed unrelated: I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel. The woman completely ignored this and said, Lord, help me. Jesus finally couldn't take it and said, I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel. The Canaanite woman still said, Lord, help me. Then Jesus said, It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs. Can you hear the meaning of his statement? This bread is not for you dogs to eat, and casting out demons is not done for you Canaanites. The woman said, Yes it is, Lord … Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”

Can you understand the process? He obviously humiliates the Canaanite woman. But the woman had faith inside, so she believed she could receive and that she would definitely receive. As a result, Jesus said, Woman, you have great faith! He showed the disciples what people have inside, testing them with these words. Once He tested them, He knew what was inside. If you say that He's the Lord, how could the Lord say such things? Anyway, the pastors I've seen don't talk like that. They often say that Jesus loves you, and so do I. Then where is the love? How do you love me? It becomes problematic once you ask.

Is there a problem with Him seeing me as a dog? As for me, being seen as a dog is a compliment, which means to faithfully follow you. Giving you lessons, that would mean me making a lot of noise all day and you will definitely turn your head to deal with the noise I am making. If it's so, then it is what it is. It doesn't matter I am called a dog. I must receive the grace that I want because He is God. If we want to receive grace from God, we must have this wisdom. And this wisdom comes from faith. How can you say such words if you don't have faith? This Canaanite woman is remarkable.

There were many sick and demon-possessed among the Canaanites, and this woman came out. After the woman returned home, her child was healed. The Canaanites would also humiliate her, and Jesus said she was a dog, but she said even dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master's table. This Canaanite woman was remarkable, meaning that it is the faith within a person that manifests in this way. Food cannot defile a person, but the unbelief within a person defiles them. The Pharisees were hypocritical and sought the honor of others. They wanted to sit in high places at banquets and occupy the center position in photos. As a result, when taking photos, people would say, Move over, move over, which is more humiliating than being called a dog. Therefore, brothers and sisters, we must know that the self-esteem within us is both filthy and corrupting. That thing is called evil thoughts, and what comes out of the mouth can defile a person.

Record what you say and reflect on it. Many people who have interacted with me often tear me apart, which exhausts me. Those who used to uncontrollably criticize must now learn to restrain themselves, and those with petty self-esteem must eliminate it. From now on, let us no longer be foolish people, but let us fill ourselves with faith. We must know what faith truly is in wisdom and understanding, and know what defiles us. Therefore, the logic of the world corrupts people in this way, and they are corrupted without even knowing it, thinking that what they are saying is reasonable. Speaking reasonably is useless if it corrupts oneself and others.

Analyze the things we fill ourselves with and the words we speak, and the underlying logic will become clear. The state of being hurt represents the filth within. This is the background of this passage, faith and unbelief. Why are there evil thoughts, murder, adultery, fornication, theft, false testimony, and slander in people's hearts? Because they do not believe in God. Not knowing how powerful God is, people focus their eyes on the few decades of this life. They strive for this life, like two dung beetles fighting over a ball of dung, working very hard. If people have faith in God, they will not fight for dung balls, who wants that stuff anyway? Because you have seen the glory of heaven; you have seen the grace of heaven; you have seen the hope of heaven, which is the background of this passage.

V. The Wisdom of the Canaanite Woman: Knowing that the Lord Jesus is Lord

Some people usually pay attention to the news and browse headlines every day. They see that there is a Jesus in Galilee, and later He went to Jerusalem. There is a Jesus who fed five thousand people with five loaves of bread and two fish, and there is a Jesus who healed all who were sick, and all who came to Jesus were healed. The Canaanite woman's child was sick and severely demon-possessed. Then she studied and started looking for information to see if it was true. Oh, it turns out He is a descendant of David, as the prophets said. Later, this Canaanite woman shouted behind Jesus, Son of David, meaning that Jesus Christ is Lord. How could a Canaanite know that Jesus Christ is Lord?

First, she understood this matter very well. Her child was demon-possessed, and she went to a witch doctor to chant spells one day, and then went to a master the next day to chant spells again, but it didn't solve the problem. She even went to find stones on Mount Wujin. I once saw a brother who went to church with me, and he even worshiped the stones on Mount Wujin, hoping to solve the problem of being demon-possessed. He studied this issue, pondering it every day. Later, he studied Jesus. As for whether she studied Shakyamuni, we don't know. She certainly studied Baal and Asherah, and she certainly studied the idols of Canaan, but none of them worked. After pondering this over and over, I have to find the greatest God. As a result, the greatest God finally came, and that is Jesus.

Then she began to study the history of the Israelites' exodus from Egypt, how they left Egypt, and what happened. Then from the time of David and Solomon to Jesus. In fact, this Canaanite woman also had doubts. If the Jewish Jesus is God, then why is Israel a colony? Just like some people ask me today, Did Qin Shi Huang get saved? How would I know? What about the Jesus preached by the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom? I don't know either, I haven't studied those things.

This Canaanite woman put her doubts aside, but she knew a second thing. That is, demons left and diseases were healed for all who came to Jesus, which is an undeniable fact. Later, she inquired and inquired, and Jesus was definitely effective. Baal couldn't drive out or heal, but it was healed by Jesus; Asherah couldn't handle it, but it was healed by Jesus; Jesus is the greatest God, the logic is so simple. As for whether Israel can be resurrected, as for whether it is a colony of the Roman Empire, this is not important, what is important is that my child can be healed by Him.

We are not studying history, what is the point of studying that, I want to solve my problem. Knowing that Jesus Christ is Lord is just a matter of faith, has she practiced it? No. Then clean up the faith inside, it is like taking a mustard seed-like faith and trying it out, but this mustard seed is alive. Even if Jesus Christ says she is a dog, it doesn't matter, I will also eat the crumbs under the table, leftovers are OK, as long as my child is healed.

I tell you, don't even mention that when I wanted to find a God back then, I thought I had to find a bigger God, what's the use of a big ghost not being able to drive out a small ghost, I didn't want to find a small fry. Do you all know what a small fry is? It's a small fish. I didn't want to find a tadpole either, thinking that drawing a few green lines on a tadpole means it's its mother, a tadpole is still a tadpole. I wanted to find the greatest God, the God who controls people's destiny and people's lives. I looked everywhere. Alas, I finally found Him.

Don't even mention that God led me to a church that cast out demons. The only church in Singapore that casts out demons, do you know that? I actually found it. Singapore has an average of one church per kilometer. After I walked in, my goodness, there were so many demon-casting events here. I felt it was God's guidance. Later, through faith in God, I found this Lord, the Lord of the universe. Someone asked me if that church is still there? It's still there, but we are more powerful than them. It is because I wanted to find a Lord that I found the Lord Jesus, the Lord Jesus is Lord.

VI. The Wisdom of the Canaanite Woman: Knowing that the Lord Jesus is the Lord Who Heals Us

Let me tell you, healing is definitely not a joke. Why is Jesus the Lord who heals us? I ask you, is sickness a good thing or a bad thing? No one thinks sickness is a good thing. If you think sickness is a blessing in disguise, would you like some? I have noticed that some pastors especially like to say this when they go to the hospital to see their sisters with cancer. If I went, I would say to her: Sister, come out of the curse; come out of this evil thought; come out of corruption; come out of this foolishness! The cancer patient would glare at me, what do you mean? You are the one who is cursed, that's how it is. As a result, these pastors don't dare to say what I say, but smooth the front and back, Sister, this is a blessing in disguise. That sister would also glare at him, I don't really want this kind of blessing in disguise, if you want it, would you like some?

I think the Canaanite woman knew that the Lord Jesus is the Lord who heals us, this is the most important thing. Wouldn't it be good to become a person with the faith of the Canaanite woman today? What is this faith? That is, all who come to the Lord Jesus are healed, He is the God who heals us. Today, let us dedicate our time with Alzheimer's disease; let us dedicate our time on the sickbed to God, how can you not have time? Moreover, you have received a lot of healing in the past few years, haven't you? How can you not have time? Time is all arranged by people. This is the most important thing in my life, He is the Lord who heals us!

This Canaanite woman must have obtained a very clear argument, that is, all who come to Jesus are healed. In 2011 and 2012, I said that all were healed. I once gave a sermon called 'All Are Healed.' Many people came to challenge me, you can't be so absolute, you can't say that, have all who come to you been healed? No, I'm not walking towards that, one day in the future, like Jesus, all will be healed. As a result, aren't those who come among us now all healed? Many have been healed, miracles and wonders are beyond people's imagination. Not only me, but also my coworkers who minister healing are beyond people's imagination.

If there is not one hundred percent healing, this Jesus is ninety percent effective. What do you say? Oh, I am that ten percent, it doesn't work. Jesus is Lord, if He says this disease can be healed, it will be healed, it is one hundred percent. You will find that all the words Jesus says are absolute, there is no ambiguity, no ten percent effective or fifty percent effective. Jesus Christ is the Lord who heals us, if you grasp this concept, you will save a lot of medical expenses in this life. Today, dedicating the time on the sickbed and the time with Alzheimer's disease to God is extremely worthwhile, how can there be no time?

As a result, this Canaanite woman shouted behind Jesus Christ, believing one hundred percent that her child would be healed. Today, no matter what disease you have, if you have the wisdom of this Canaanite woman, believe one hundred percent that you will be healed. You have such faith, and I also have such faith, because God is among us, God likes us to have such faith. If this Canaanite woman did not have one hundred percent faith, it seemed like she had it and it seemed like she didn't, it seemed like fifty percent effective and fifty percent ineffective. It's like flipping a coin, she has no way to persevere here, no way to persist in having the faith of a dog, right? This is the key. Today I tell you if you lack a job, trust in God, God will definitely give you a job. If you lack money and are very poor, God is a wealthy God. God will definitely make you wealthy and let you live a normal life, nothing can catch up with God, right?

VII. The Wisdom of the Canaanite Woman: Knowing the Goal of Coming to the Lord Jesus

What did she come for? Let me tell you, many people forget what they came for as they go along. I often say, it's not easy to come into this world, is it? Was it easy for your parents to bring you into this world? That's not easy. That's an incredible thing, so some people say that everyone is a champion. Why? The sperm in your father's body is hundreds of millions, and you are born from one of the hundreds of millions of sperm, isn't that a champion? You have to run to be a champion to be born, do you think so. As a result, this Canaanite woman has this kind of faith, what did I come to the Lord Jesus for? What is my goal? Think about it, no matter how they attack you, you are still a champion; no matter how they attack you, you are still a person in the eyes of God; no matter how they attack you, you are very sure that Jesus Christ is Lord, very sure that Jesus Christ is the Lord who heals you, you are very sure that your child needs to be cast out demons.

With the previous two, my problem is wrapped up in the Lord Jesus Christ. As a result, Jesus said that I have come to the house of Israel to find the lost sheep, this cannot corrupt my faith, it doesn't matter. Why? This Canaanite woman knows the story of Rahab and Ruth, knowing that these people are very powerful and wise women. As a result, this Canaanite woman carried through several small tests, unlike our sisters who think they are very bad, and people say you are bad and it's not okay. Right? Some people just don't have enough faith in themselves, they pursue and pursue and it's gone; they do and do and it's gone, the goal is unclear. Today I tell you, if a person's goal is unclear, the strategy is unclear, and the method is wrong, it's completely over.

Today this Canaanite woman has a clear goal, a clear strategy, and the right method. What method? The method of faith. I just believe, I just believe I can get it. This is wisdom, this is faith in understanding. My child will surely be healed in the hands of Jesus, and the demon will surely be driven out because of Jesus Christ! Did she think about how many curses I have received over the years; did she think about how many demons I have attracted because I have entered so many temples? Doesn't matter. Not important, what is important is that Jesus Christ is Lord, what is important is that God is the God who heals us, one hundred percent healed. Then after what dog or non-dog, Israel or non-Israel, Israel is a sheep and I am a dog, it doesn't matter. I am a sheepdog, does it matter? It doesn't matter, this is wisdom, so powerful!

VIII. The Wisdom of the Canaanite Woman: Knowing that She Is Really a Dog Before the Lord Jesus

If you really know that you are really a dog before the Lord Jesus, God will say that you are a faithful and good servant. If you come to the Lord Jesus and think you are great, it's bad. Never show off in front of someone higher than you, right? You are teaching a fish to swim, showing off your carpentry to Lu Ban. If you always want to show off your woodworking to Lu Ban, then forget it, right? Embarrassing! What's so great about being a dog before the Lord Jesus? In fact, it really is a dog.
