【Bible Study】Exodus 06 - Moses' Authority Comes From God! (Q&A)

2021-09-22 7,055 Exodus Confidence Spiritual Disciplines Authority Birthright Service Growth

Q1: Is it considered overstepping authority for Jacob to bypass Esau to receive the blessing of the firstborn?

I ask you, did Jacob seize, deceive, or how did he obtain the birthright of the firstborn? Let everyone speak.

Some people always feel that Jacob deceived Esau, but I don't read it that way. Esau willingly exchanged it; it was consensual. Jacob didn't kill his brother, nor did he rob him of anything. His brother voluntarily gave it to Jacob, and God doesn't count it if it's not done that way.

If you steal it, it doesn't count. If you rob it, it doesn't count. It only counts if Esau says he's giving it to you. Esau thought he could deceive Jacob, but Jacob took it seriously. It was Esau who wanted to deceive Jacob, wasn't it? Giving it to Jacob, but then saying it doesn't count when it's time to sign the legal documents! So who is deceiving whom?

Esau deceived Jacob, why? Actually, Jacob didn't get a single penny of Isaac's inheritance. It should have all been Jacob's, but Esau swallowed it all. Because actually, Esau's words had given everything to Jacob, but then he didn't give it to him, and he swallowed it himself. Not only did he swallow it, but he also wanted to kill Jacob. Can you understand that? I think this is a very important concept.

Q2: Is it also a manifestation of disobedience to authority to prefer tinkering on one's own, rather than seeking a pastor even if one is close to death?

Actually, I tell you, this is a very bad thing, and people will suffer! The matter of authority is not a joke. Why do many pastors' prayers for those they serve have effects that exceed people's imagination? Why? Because their authority comes from God. He serves you not because he himself is very capable or eloquent, but because of what? It's because his authority comes from God. God honors him, and God will surely let those under him see that their pastor has authority from God. So we say, when the devil comes, find a pastor.

There is a sermon called When the Devil Comes, Find a Pastor! If the devil comes, you look for your uncle, look for your good friend, look for your prayer partner. How many of us believe in this thing called prayer partners? How many have heard of prayer partners, spiritual companion? What is all this?

Wouldn't it have been better if Moses had simply treated Korah as a partner, playing and chatting together? I don't think this is a good thing, but I won't stop you. One day, you say, Pastor, my prayer partner and I share and edify each other, it's so good! I say, Okay, okay. What am I doing? Do you know? Do whatever you like!

Someone said, Pastor, can I play computer games? I said, Yes! When is it not okay? You see, some people don't understand what I say. I added another sentence later, Play to your death! Anything without authority is nonsense. Can everyone understand what I'm saying?

In business management, some bosses make very fatal mistakes. Today I will give you a warning. I often see bosses say, You guys discuss it and then make a decision. They are all equal in rank. How can equals make a decision? What is there to discuss? I never do this. Why? Because there is a very simple principle of business management. This concept they call peer-plus-one, which is equals plus the authority above. Any decision that needs to be made must be made by equals plus one from the authority above. Why? Because without authority, there will be chaos.

Everything is related to decisions! How to do this? How to do that? I tell you, unless one day my mind is deranged, that's another matter. If my mind is deranged, we don't know what we're doing. But if I'm clear-headed, I will never let my equals discuss together what I'm doing. Never make any decisions in a state without authority, because it's just messing around! Everyone haggles back and forth, that's not a way to solve problems. Business management can't be done that way.

Q3: How do you know you have authority from God? Do visions and dreams mean God's presence?

Having visions and dreams, but not knowing where those visions and dreams come from. If you have authority from God, your service will surely have results! It's not having authority from God and then making nonsense, nor is it having authority from God to see visions, nor is it saying that you had a dream. If a person wants to love God, he must be a person who serves God.

Then how do you serve God? It is to serve those in need, but many people like to give money to charities, for example, and then they don't care what these charities do. They outsource charity, because outsourcing is very popular now, right? Housekeeping is outsourced, cooking is outsourced, now it's packing takeout, not outsourcing. The word out is very popular now, but doing things well yourself is not so popular.

Of course, what I said is not rigorous, don't nitpick me. If you do, I won't blame you, because what I said is not rigorous. So what do you do with authority from God? Edify people, serve people, build God's church, build God's army, shepherd God's flock, build everyone up, become a victorious people! Then you can plunder the devil and the enemy. This is authority from God. You can trample on the enemy. The devil and the enemy are not your enemies!

Q4: Can the concept of building each other up be found in the Bible?

Building each other up, this concept exists, but under authority. You are to love one another, Jesus said, because you are my disciples, all under authority there can be mutual edification. Without authority, building each other up is impossible to achieve anything; what can be built?

Q5: There is a brother who particularly honors his pastor, following him closely even when the pastor makes products. The pastor says he has a vision, a vision from God, and making products is also God's leading. Teacher, I want to ask, is this kind of obedience pleasing to God? This brother has a burden for the brothers and sisters in his hometown, but he may have heard the pastor tell him that he does not have the gift of a pastor. Teacher, is his thinking correct?

Gifts are a great mystery. If you ask me, what great gift do I have? I have nothing; I only have responsibility. Shepherding is our responsibility.

Earning money together through multilevel marketing is not my responsibility. Many times, some pastors tell you that you don't have this gift, and dismiss you with one sentence. As for whether what he is talking about is a gift or not, how does it actually come about? This pastor probably doesn't understand gifts.

How do gifts come about? Does the Holy Spirit give to everyone as He wills? Then I ask you, what is God's will? Isn't it to raise up more leaders to shepherd His people? Yes, so how do gifts come about? When we serve, we find that we can't do it. When we want to bring the Israelites out of Egypt, we can't do it, so we learn to obey God. When we speak according to God's words and do according to God's words, we yearn and yearn, and you will find that gifts come!

Because God sees that you are a very responsible and loving person, He didn't originally intend to give you this gift, but he finds that you want to do God's work, so He has to give it to you. Therefore, gifts come from the desires within people. The Bible says you should pursue love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts. The Bible says you should have love and also have spiritual power, so we can release God's love, and that is the gift.

If you have a burden for your hometown, you can begin to yearn to understand what God's word says. Yearning to understand God's word has nothing to do with disobeying the pastor. If what our pastor says is contrary to God's word, including what I say is contrary to God's word, you can choose not to listen, you can choose to honor God's word. Because God's word is the highest authority, but of course you must also honor your authority.

But we still have to reject some wrong teachings, it will not affect God's plan for you, this is not considered rebellion, because obeying God, not obeying man, this is not considered rebellion, it is normal. Obeying God is obeying God's Word, this is very important. Some people closely follow their pastors to do multilevel marketing. It's strange, when the pastor is doing well, why don't you follow? When he does these things, you follow.

It is important to know clearly that what is most important for us today is to imitate Jesus, this is the supreme principle, but you must have wisdom on the road of imitating Jesus, knowing how to honor your authority. For example, he has a vision to do multilevel marketing. I have never seen such teaching in the Bible. Someone wants to do this and that, but it is just doing multilevel marketing in another form. So I don't encourage anyone to do multilevel marketing in the church. If you want to do it, go outside and do it. If you want to do this in the church, I will kick you out, do you hear?

Because the church is not a place for transactions, the church is a place where you are willing to give, OK, if you want to gain a little, I think you should forget about it. You always want to take advantage of your brothers and sisters, selling products to them, I think you should forget about believing in the Lord.

Q6: Those without positions in the church are called lay believers. I don't quite understand, is it a hierarchical relationship?

Lay believers are ordinary believers, we don't have lay believers here. I have searched all over the Bible and haven't found the word lay believers. I tell everyone, don't think that lay believers are believers of equal rank, they are not.

Take the word lay believers out of your dictionary, don't ask me about what I didn't say, ask me about what I said, ask whoever you heard it from. I think it's better to call them flat-headed believers, or Honey Badger believers, or Honey Badger sisters. This era has invented many words that make people confused. There are many homophones, lay believers and poor believers are similar, that is, poor believers.

Q7: What are the risks of Mingding Doctrine?

The risk of authority is that when we have authority, we must make decisions according to God's word. Once we don't do it according to God's word, it is actually quite upsetting. But God is love and will surely guide us to do this work.
