Introduction
Today, we will examine an important topic, Seek and Ye Shall Find. Last Sunday, it was Conquering Oneself. I enjoy listening to my own sermons; I find myself giving myself a thumbs up as I listen. An English pastor once said, I don't enjoy listening to my own sermons. The pastor next to him replied, If you don't enjoy your own sermons, how can you expect your congregation to? Every time I preach, I am presenting an academic paper. Each time, I am seeking, and each presentation feels excellent. I don't reuse old sermons that I've accumulated over two or three years; I present my latest revelations and discoveries.
Some people say, Being a pastor is easy. Just prepare a hundred sermons and recycle them. As a result, I spent a lot of money listening to a pastor preach the same thing. That brother always shared testimonies from over 20 years ago. I wondered, Don't these people have new testimonies? I've developed a habit of seeking. I am a constant seeker, and I always preach my latest findings.
When I started the church, it was interesting. At the time, I thought, How could Jesus come? I need to prepare delicious braised beef, roasted chicken, roasted duck, and Dongbei stew. How could Jesus compare to these delicious foods? Consequently, the church almost failed. Yesterday, a French brother who specializes in cooking for the brothers discovered that his cooking wasn't as good as what's made in the temple.
This year, we see our church full of life, such as XP sister's testimony today. Thinking about it, how could I have provided those things back then? Because I had money and power, being an executive made it easier to have those things made. But I am a cook with a seeking heart. The Bible clearly states what Jesus produced, while what I produced was different. Why do those Christians do that? Either they are stubborn, or they are playing fake. Although I had the heart of a cook, I didn't get it right. I knew that.
Jerusalem was a church of eating and drinking. I thought that was the standard, but that church was very poor. In the end, I still built the church according to Paul's letters.
Today, everyone must know, to know what you know, and to know what you don't know, if Christians don't understand this, how can they please God? God loves us to seek; seek and ye shall find. God has been waiting for us for so long. We must be seekers. Some pastors don't seek and then speak nonsense. Someone gets cancer and lies with a guilty conscience, saying, Brother, God gave you this cancer as a blessing in disguise. These are all lies; the Bible never says this. As a result, they themselves are cursed, get cancer, and suffer a lot.
There are also some brothers and sisters who think certain pastors are the standard. If the Bible doesn't say it, don't speak nonsense. Everyone must remove things that are not in accordance with the Bible and seek carefully. I care about these things. If it's not in the Bible, why would I speak nonsense? Do I have the courage of a bear and the audacity of a leopard? I must revere the glorious and awesome name of Jehovah. One pastor said, Everything I say comes from God. I wouldn't dare to speak nonsense like that. I encourage everyone to read the Bible carefully and see if what I say is true. Let us seek God's will together, seeking in every aspect of our lives.
One sister installed a camera and connected the HDMI cables incorrectly, plugging them into any port that looked the same, and then said, Why can't I find the camera signal no matter how hard I look? Why doesn't she think about how to do it right? What does one plus one equal? One plus one equals three? Can she think that's right? Messing around like this is definitely wrong. I asked her to think about it, and eventually she figured it out. There is something that captures the video signal; you can't just plug it in and expect it to work. She also messed up setting up the virtual stage in her room. I also asked her to think about it carefully, and two days later, she got it right and set up the whole room very well.
There are many problems like this. I'm not giving examples to criticize anyone; I need you to be seekers. The sisters in our church who do healing and deliverance, their parents are in their eighties. In the beginning, they could learn from the church's teachings to deal with the issues on their parents. Half a year passed, and without thinking, there was no progress. Why can't she treat taking care of her parents as a project? I've been busy with renovation these past few months and haven't paid much attention, but I won't forget. I need to train her well, train her to be a smart person. If a person doesn't seek, how can they find the answer? Our God is a God who requires us to seek.
If a person is mentally lazy or mentally handicapped, it's all a result of not thinking. During this past period, we were doing renovations. I want to train the brothers and sisters to be seekers. Not seeking is a very serious problem. What can you create with brainless education? I know what I know; I also know what I don't know. I know that the church I built is not like Jesus and Paul's. Today, no matter who you are, be a seeker and live out God's glorious image in your life.
Scripture
And he said to them, “Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves; for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; and he will answer from within and say, ‘Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you’? I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs. “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” (Luke 11:5-13)
Prayer
Lord, stir up this seeking heart, this desire to seek within us;
Lord, use Your words to stimulate us, to lead us out of this comfortable state, to be seekers. You promise us that if we seek, we will find.
Lord, You have been waiting for us for a long time. Whether in our work, in our careers, or in all aspects of our lives, may our minds and thoughts be constantly renewed, so that our lives will be changed because we seek, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, amen!
God is Looking for Seekers
Jesus's arguments and evidence are the same. Why is one-to-one? Because that's how it is. Jesus said the argument and evidence are the same; it's God's law. This is a constant law; this is Jesus's point. God's word is like that. As long as you seek, you will find. The only fear is that you don't seek. The results you live out are different from Jesus. You do a lot of what Jesus doesn't do; you only do a little of what Jesus does. I found the foundation of healing and deliverance. Why do those who serve God still get cancer? Because they don't fight and overcome. I can solve many more problems. I am very excited: God, this is so good! God says, What are you excited about? I have been waiting for you for a long time.
Liu Bei and Zhao Yun held Zhuge Liang's secret strategies. Zhao Yun said, I am following the lord to Eastern Wu. What use are three secret strategies from Zhuge Liang to me? As a result, when encountering a problem they couldn't solve, they opened the secret strategy. The Prime Minister foresaw everything. The second secret strategy was the same; the third was opened with confidence and it was the same. Zhuge Liang only foresaw everything, but our God had already told us these things. God is talking about this spiritual law. God says if you seek, you will definitely find.
A Canadian sister, whenever she was spiritually dry, constantly searched for various spiritual foods online. As a result, after listening to my content, she bought a plane ticket to find me. This is a seeker; why did she find it? She sought, so she could find. Now it is an internet society; as long as you seek, you can find. Seek what? Seek God Himself, seek truth, seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit. How does our God say it? If earthly fathers know how to give good gifts to their children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?
Many who come to our church are seeking, from France, the Netherlands, Australia, America, and many more. We have a brother from America who said, I just want to find a church like yours. Just like a friend asking for bread, seeking persistently, they find.
Some time ago, there was a brother who was very experienced. He was constantly being healed and delivered, and then said, I want to find the root. As a result, the root he found was very dissimilar. He found it in a book, saying it was ancestral curses, his own big pile of things. Where does the Bible talk about these things? A lot of healing and deliverance things these days are scams; everyone is talking about gifts and anointing.
Some time ago, in a church, someone doing healing and deliverance had to fill out a large stack of forms, and then the pastor dealt with these problems one by one. One of the sisters among them, after having an abortion, went to the pastor, wrote down her sins, and the pastor dealt with them one by one. At that time, the pastor asked the sister, Do you want to give the child a name? This is really absurd. Did Jesus and Paul do healing and deliverance well? Did they need to fill out a large stack of forms? No.
And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 16:18-19)
These words are written in black and white in the Bible. We don't need to reinvent the wheel. As long as we seek in the Bible, we can find it. The Holy Spirit will definitely lead you into the truth. God is really wonderful. Those who don't seek are really fools. As long as you are willing to seek, willing to explore. The child in today's testimony was released because she was lazy, indulging her flesh, not knowing to learn customer management, upstream and downstream industrial chains from her parents, etc. Under our shepherding, seeking and finding, her life had new breakthroughs.
Seek God, and God will definitely give it to you. The question is whether you seek or not. The Genesis Bible study I wrote is different from what many theologians write. Those are the results of seeking God's revelation. Studying Genesis is very important. If you don't understand it, pray. If you still don't understand after reading it, continue to pray. After praying, continue to read. Sometimes you have to pray for two hours, or even two weeks. As a result, God revealed it to me. I jumped up excitedly in the office. It was really exciting. God said, Why didn't you seek? I have been waiting for a long time. It turns out that our God really wants us to seek. Today, it's not because I am so-and-so that I get what I seek; it's that each of us seeks and will find.
Here, I would like to say, if you haven't bought the Genesis Bible study, you must buy it because you can write notes on it, and you may get better revelations. The key is that you must seek God. I encourage everyone who doesn't seek to know that God has been waiting for a long time. If you do the same thing every day, and you are very satisfied every day, but God is not happy. God has been waiting for you there for a long time. God has been singing, Do you know I'm waiting for you?
Seeking a Beginning in All Things
It is truly perilous when people do not seek. What should you seek? Seek to understand what it means for a person to be alive. Do not presume you know. I can tell just by observing you after work; perhaps your boss scolded you, indicating you are unsure of what you are doing. Remember, your job is not your god.
Recently, I attended a course where the speaker declared, Your destiny is your job, your calling is your job. This is utter nonsense. Today, the term 'destiny' has been tarnished. We must discern the true meaning of being alive, understand it intellectually, and learn how to live better.
I want you to know how hard I am contending for you, and for those at Laodicea, and for all who have not met me personally. My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. (Colossians 2:1-3)
Do not muddle through what you do not understand. Seek understanding in areas of confusion. Intellectual seeking is distinct from spiritual prayer, much like spiritual prayer cannot replace intellectual seeking.
For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my understanding. (1 Corinthians 14:14-15)
Spiritual and intellectual prayer are not interchangeable. We must address our physical laziness and encourage our brothers and sisters to unlock their intellectual potential.
For example, if I ask, What is one plus one? and the answer is Three, I would question, Is it really three? If the response then becomes Four, and the person, noticing my confusion, adds Or perhaps you want three, or even five, it indicates a lack of thought. Similarly, when assigning tasks, if I ask, How many days will it take? and receive answers ranging from Two weeks to One week to Three days, without a clear explanation, it is mere guesswork. Provide a clear rationale. If I demonstrate the process, the employee is invariably impressed.
Many fail because they have not sought understanding for years. How will you account for this to God? Seeking is an attitude, a fundamental aspect of being human. We must eradicate our bad habits and misconceptions. For instance, saying, I am too old to learn to type is invalid when my mother learned in her eighties. The ability to find answers matters. While we may not perfectly resemble Jesus, we must consider how to emulate Him. A seeking attitude costs neither money nor effort, and God promises that those who seek Him will find Him.
At my age, I have cultivated a good habit: pondering. When I was involved in real estate, pondering illuminated many aspects. Similarly, I have gained insights into space utilization, church building, and deliverance ministry through contemplation. Pondering equates to seeking, and these practices have yielded much understanding. I can quickly discern confusion in others and guide them toward clarity.
Seeking Can Lead to Complete Renewal
In my youth, I contemplated suicide. The thought lingered for a long time as I questioned the purpose of my daily routine. However, after believing in the Lord, life became vibrant. If you have been doing the same thing daily for too long, and if you were my employee, I would ensure you would lose your appetite by relentlessly reminding you to grow, improve, and be accountable to God until the day you leave this world.
One year, an employee approached me about not receiving a raise. Knowing this was coming, I took him to the area he managed and asked why he had not made any improvements despite years of work. I gave him five minutes to contemplate improvements. He understood everything but had done nothing for five years.
Seeking must begin with problem-solving. The greatest challenge for Christians is not resembling Jesus. If you ask me where Christian revival lies, it is in movements that emulate Jesus, where every Christian acts as Jesus would.
Some seminary students question how they can know what Jesus would think. Renewal stems from seeking. We must continually know God through renewal and fill old wineskins with new wine. Our church regularly embraces new ideas. By continuously seeking and renewing, our God will undoubtedly grant us renewal. If you seek to encounter God daily and experience continuous renewal, we are the church for you. Together, we can know God through renewal until we meet the Lord.
I once studied the origins of the Pharisees, who, despite daily reading the Scriptures, became a brood of vipers. I discovered that their defining characteristic was a failure to renew. Martin Luther’s wineskin, along with many others, became old. Today, we must build upon the foundations laid by our predecessors and rediscover God. We still fall short of resembling Jesus in many ways, but God awaits us. The Pharisees originated from laziness and a failure to renew, leading to dire consequences concerning life, death, blessing, and curse. We must strive to emulate Jesus Christ, pushing forward until we fully embody His likeness.
Seeking can sharpen your discernment. Do you aspire to be discerning? Begin seeking, knowing what you know and acknowledging what you do not. If you are unaware of your ignorance, seeking can enlighten you and save your life. Rahab, a prostitute in Jericho, was a seeker. Seeking God directly counters the spirit of religion, allowing one to know God through renewal. I once pondered the future expansion of the church and asked, Lord, what will we do? The answer lies in perpetual renewal.
Reflecting on my past management style, the management of a ten-person company differs from that of a ten-thousand-person company. Today companies such as Alibaba and Google will die if they do not renew themselves and churches will die if they do not renew themselves. Therefore, regardless of your age, you must live in renewal, because renewal can save your life.
Rahab from Jericho was in a state of waiting to die, knowing that the Israelites would destroy the city and everyone in it. She paid attention to the Israelites and was conversant with their story. She sought God, pleading, God, God of Israel, save me. In response to her pleas, God moved Joshua to send two spies. Joshua knew the dangers involved, recalling the fate of Moses' twelve spies, who died after reporting bad news. These two spies were sent with the responsibility for Rahab's family. Her earnest prayers: God, I do not want to die; I want to be saved.” led to her inclusion in the genealogy of Jesus Christ. Those who seek are often saved by God.
One of my colleagues cares for her parents. Do you have the spirit of seeking, like Rahab, continuously seeking until you become the savior of your family?
Joseph had ten older brothers, but he sought God, and God destined him to be the savior of his family. Indeed, his parents and brothers bowed before him. As prime minister, Joseph managed countless affairs. Know that seeking can save your life and make you the savior of your family. I remind you again today that those who seek will find.
May God bless you all.
