【Bible Study】Romans 11 - Abide in God's Kindness!

2019-03-27 61,411 Romans Confidence Tithe Gentiles Electing Grace Salvation Mystery of Salvation

God Has Never Rejected His People

The Book of Romans, though challenging, is remarkably well-written. Paul elucidates the truths of the Gospel with clarity and diligently addresses the concerns of the Roman church members. Their issues mirror those faced by brethren today.

I once encountered a sermon on Once Saved, Always Saved, which caused me considerable confusion, as I could not find it substantiated in Scripture. Upon closer examination of the Bible, I realized its fallacy. To genuinely believe in Once Saved, Always Saved is perilous.

I questioned proponents of this doctrine about their rationale. They attributed it to divine election, yet I discerned no evidence of God's choice in them. In this journey of faith, I must share a discouraging truth: only a small fraction of believers truly come before God. It is not entirely absent, but truly rare. Why do so few reach God's presence? Paul repeatedly argues:

I ask then, has God rejected his people? By no means! For I myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin. (Romans 11:1)

Indeed, God has never forsaken those He foreknew. None of His people will be lost. The crux of the matter lies in whether you belong to God's people. If you do not, you are destined to be lost. If you do, you are a treasure. As we all know, if you scoop a handful from a gold mine, can you see the gold? No, it appears to be all sand. Where is the gold? One must continuously sift through the pile of sand, eventually yielding only a trace of gold. This is how God seeks His treasures!

To know if you are a treasure, diligently study the Bible. To what extent do you see the likeness of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in yourself? How much of Jesus Christ do you embody? Or how much of the Apostle Paul do you reflect? If you lack these qualities, your belonging to God is questionable.

People today dread their sons resembling others. Similarly, how can God's children resemble demons? God's children should bear His likeness. If they resemble devils, it is problematic. Remember, treasures are scarce. If treasures were ubiquitous, they would cease to be treasures.

Today, we will continue from the preceding chapters. Chapter 9 speaks of those who trust in God not being put to shame, and Chapter 10 highlights the beauty of the feet of those who bring good news. Brethren, what path are we treading today? If we proclaim the Gospel but do not believe it is good news ourselves, how can we proceed?

In this generation, few truly recognize the Gospel as good news. God's people are the treasures He has chosen in this world. If we are treasures in His eyes and regard the Gospel as a treasure, we must strive relentlessly!

When have you ever seen someone discover a vast gold mine, only to find a nugget and then abandon it? What kind of thinking is that? In my years of ministry, I have often encountered such foolish individuals. Some have experienced healing and deliverance, only to turn away from God. I wonder, if demons return, what will they do? They might think, What demons? It is truly baffling!

Many, after experiencing earth-shattering, unbelievable grace, bolt. This perplexes me. Some spend two months, six months, or a year here, have their problems resolved, and then leave! I wonder, what happens when those demons return? Indeed, they will. They say, It's all right, I'll come back to you. I have the heart of a shepherd; I will still minister to you. But what kind of thinking is that? Why wait to be tormented again?

Years ago, a brother's mother had cancer. We prayed for her, and she was healed. But when asked to give an offering, she said she would return to her local church. I said, When you left for your local church, you didn't have cancer. After a few months, you do. You're still going back? She said, Yes. I asked, Why? She said, No reason. I understood: it was love of money. At her local church, she would not be asked to give.

She only thought of money, not knowing there were treasures here, where even cancer can be healed! Two years later, I asked after her. Her son said she could not breathe sitting or lying down, she could not sleep, and had endured for two years. With a shepherd's heart, I ministered to her again, no exaggeration! She was healed again!

Later, she came to Singapore for her son's wedding and told him: Son, don't work so hard for this pastor. How can you live this way? I thought, what kind of thinking is that? Her son said, I'll have to leave the church. I said, Then leave. I never keep people, though it saddened me. I asked, What will your mother do? He said, She'll stay in your church. I said, Fine, she stays, you leave.

I discovered that many not only do not strive, but run backward! A few months later, the brother's mother also left. What will she do when the cancer returns a third time? How can one touch a treasure and not strive to keep it? The attrition rate of those I have ministered to is about 95%, if not higher. For every five people who stay, I have ministered to about a hundred. Too few today recognize Jesus Christ as the ultimate treasure. Too many regard money, work, and business as treasures.

Knowing Jesus Christ as the Ultimate Treasure

To what extent has God graced me? The vast majority of what I say comes to pass. An elderly sister, whose son is a pastor, recently sought me out. Her 20 years of insomnia were healed through prayer. I followed up, asking if she would stay with us. She declined, saying she needed to help her son build his church. I said, That's fine. Having a Mingding Destiny is good. I need God for my entire life. If I, having cast out so many demons, were to leave God, it would be suicidal.

But few know this is a treasure. Few churches have touched it. Fewer still in churches have touched it. Of those who have, many later fail to recognize its value. Israel's experience is unparalleled. The Exodus was earth-shattering. Crossing the Red Sea, crossing the Jordan, what was the result? The Israelites quickly forgot! I wonder, who are these people? Too many do not know Jesus Christ is a treasure!

Recently, a sister and her husband came to us, ridden with demons. We dealt with much of it. Over a hundred lumps in her abdomen disappeared. She had sought help from many churches, to no avail. Now healed, she wants to leave because she feels slightly hurt. I wonder, what happens when the demons return?

The foundation of healing and deliverance is a victorious church. If the church is not victorious, one is truly calling to heaven in vain. Today, we must recognize that Jesus Christ is the ultimate treasure! Even if few attain it, we must strive relentlessly!

Therefore, Paul, in Romans 11, hopes that his kinsmen, the Israelites, will rise up to seek this God! What a treasure He is, yet they do not realize it! Those who trust in Him will not be put to shame. How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Gospel, who deliver this treasure! God has never rejected His people; His people have abandoned Him. Frankly, I do not easily dismiss people. Even when I do, it is in hopes that they will strive, return, and change.

Those who belong to God bear the likeness of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, striving relentlessly and giving themselves wholly. Those who do not lack this likeness. Has God forsaken His people? By no means! God has never rejected His people. Brethren, know with certainty that God has not forsaken His people. The question is whether you are truly His people! If you are not, then good luck. If you are not, then you are in trouble.

Today, our God has done something wondrous, making the path to grace easily accessible, from faith to faith. It is easy to initially experience God. However, the key is whether you can long abide in His kindness! Today's title for Chapter 11: Abide in the Kindness of God.

Do not lose your way in faith, or be cut off. Or, if not cut off, you simply fall away on your own. One must abide in God's kindness. Know today that few attain the treasure. Thus, Paul writes in Romans:

Lord, they have killed your prophets, they have demolished your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life.

God's response:

But what is God's reply to him? “I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” (Romans 11:3-4)

I do not know if Paul writes to praise God or sarcastically, but it sounds tragic. Elijah thought he was the only one left, but God said no, there are seven thousand. Of the millions of Israelites in Elijah's time, only seven thousand had not bowed to Baal? The standard is too low.

Too few today recognize Jesus Christ as the ultimate treasure! While preparing this Bible study, I prayed, God, have mercy! I do not want a church of eighty thousand, a hundred thousand, a million, two million... I want a church that is your treasure, where every brother and sister are your people! May each one bear the likeness of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob! Build a victorious army church! This is my hope before God, and I believe He will not disappoint me.

Some do not appreciate this army church, preferring the prestige of a church with hundreds of thousands or millions. But do you know that even pastors of the largest churches can end up in prison for crimes? How many are truly for God? Brethren, search your hearts, asking if you are God's people. How do you know? Grace is a sieve, revealing whether you are God's people.

So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace. And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace. What then? Israel failed to obtain what it was seeking. The elect obtained it, but the others were hardened. (Romans 11:5-7)

Listen to God's words – so wondrous! I said to God, God, I do not want to be hardened. I want to be in your grace and love forever, clinging tightly to your grace. Brethren, consider why people feel hurt. Because they feel they did not get what they deserved or were entitled to.

They should have been honored, but were not. At work, they feel they should not be criticized or treated unfairly. But if we think we deserve something, we are unworthy. Do not foolishly ignore grace. What is grace? What is freely given.

If you say, God, I have done so well, I should receive, like the Israelites who said, God, I tithe. I am not like those who extort. You should favor me, many Christians today bargain with God based on their deeds. Why do they bargain with God based on their deeds? Because they are trapped in a delusion, as it is written:

God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that would not see and ears that would not hear, down to this very day. (Romans 11:8)

How many understand this? How did God give them a spirit of stupor? Why? Because their hearts love the world; the love of the Father is not in them. What else can God give them? So examine yourselves: what is in your heart? If it is love for the world, you are accursed. To what extent? God will give you a stupor, so you see but do not understand, hear but do not perceive.

And David says, “Let their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them; let their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see, and bend their backs forever.” (Romans 11:9-10)

These are weighty words: if one loves the world, one is accursed. A sister who once left our church came seeking a boyfriend. Seeing none, she left, prioritizing her career. One day, she broke down. Thank God, she remembered me and contacted me. I arranged for pastors to minister to her.

We spent two days ministering to her, casting out demons. The brethren were exhausted, but she was healed. Yet she returned to loving the world. I said, Do what you must. Why? Because, as if tipping, she gave a 10 Yuan offering. I was not concerned with the amount, but with her lack of a giving heart and her indifference to offerings. How can one be so blind?

Grace is a sieve, based on faith. If we base it on works, we feel deserving. She felt 10 Yaun was appropriate for two days of ministry. I did not want it. What would I do with it? These people are truly deranged. They touch treasure but do not recognize it. They do not regard Jesus Christ as the ultimate treasure, do not see all things as dung, only to gain Jesus Christ as treasure, striving to perfection.

Listen carefully: you and I need God for our entire lives. When dare we not need Him? Do not be sifted out! Some jump into pits God digs, becoming blind and deaf – self-inflicted suffering!

As Paul spoke, he longed for the Israelites to know that God is a treasure, hoping to inspire them to strive. Our God desperately encourages people to know He is a treasure. Yet He does not see love for God in them.

Today, God is seeking those who recognize His treasure, selling all to buy it. What kind of people are treasures? Those who believe consistently, never compromising, not those who believe halfway and then fall away. Having fallen, they lose God's kindness. Be careful.

Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God's kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off. (Romans 11:22)

What kind of person do you want to be? Know that God is choosing those with faith. Without faith, one is in a sorry state. The Israelites made a golden calf in the wilderness, but said, Let us hold a feast to the Lord. This is not faith. Some want to live a comfortable life and love God, loving both the world and God. It cannot be.

If some are dissatisfied, about to stumble, if you truly believe, you will strive, be inspired, and press on – you are a treasure. If you stumble, God is not trying to make you fall. By no means.

But because of our faults, salvation comes to others, and we lose God's grace. If, having lost it, we can still be inspired and strive, releasing the spirit of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, you are still a treasure.

If we suddenly stumble, having a thousand reasons to be hurt, discerning good and evil, and then lose faith, becoming worldly, we will be swept into the trash. Know this important concept: do we want to be God's treasure or trash? We must know what kind of people God chooses. Why do people get hurt and stumble? Because they feel entitled to what they have received.

One person was interesting, unimaginably so. Years ago, his wife lay in bed for nine months, while his friend's wife was also paralyzed. After we prayed for his wife, she could walk. They gave a 500 Yuan offering and said goodbye.

When others visited, he piously said he needed to pray. This person does not know the kind of people God chooses. If one loves the world, what good is prayer? I boldly predict that this person will have a terrible end. As the Bible says, the final state will be worse than the first.

He does not know it now. God sometimes deliberately stupifies their hearts: Everything's fine now! What's the problem? Why should I believe diligently? Why should I regard Jesus Christ as the ultimate treasure? When disaster strikes, nothing can withstand it.

He was healed and tossed us 500 Yuan, feeling he had paid the price. Why? Because, he holds own value system. His friend's wife is still in bed, having spent a lot of money.

Standing Firm and Enduring Through Faith

I have encountered many such people and events, and I can share numerous examples with you. I encourage our brothers and sisters to ponder whether you are willing to dwell in God's grace continually. God never said that being His people grants you free rein. If you are God's people but lack faith, you will be broken off. Through faith, you can stand firm. If you are not persistently unbelieving, you can still be grafted back in. That is, whenever you believe, you are grafted back.

Some might ask: Is it okay if I am grafted back in just before I die? You might not have that opportunity, let alone be grafted back in before death. How do you know when your death will be? Some are simply muddling along in this manner.

That is true. They were broken off because of unbelief, but you stand firm because of faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid. (Romans 11:20)

And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in again, for God is able to graft them in again. After all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree! (Romans 11:23-24)

Paul told the Roman church that those belonging to God are a minority. I believe it is the same in this generation. Do not assume that a mega-church is filled with God's people; it might just be sand. God wants to sift out His treasures from this sand, and that is God's grace. If you believe you deserve this grace, then you are not worthy.

If you feel unworthy of this grace, but you believe, you can receive God's grace. Do not think you can come before God through your deeds.

Among our brothers and sisters, some are weak, and some have stumbled. If you see what God is doing among us, will you be motivated to strive earnestly? If you are a person who strives earnestly, you will have the likeness of Abraham. If you do not have the likeness of Abraham, your reaction will be dismissive, and you will grumble in your heart: So, I was kicked out? So be it, I don't want it anyway.

God's election often defies common sense. Some focus on God's sovereignty and election. But what kind of people God chooses is, in fact, traceable. If you believe you are a vessel made by God to display His wrath, then may God fulfill that belief in you. If you choose to be among God's elect, beginning with faith and leading to faith, and carry that faith, you will dwell in God's grace throughout your life. Such a person pleases God.

God foreknows what kind of person you are, whether you are a person of faith or not. You know yourself. Are you willing to become a person of faith? If you love the world, you know it. Whether you love God or not, you know it, and God knows it. God will keep those He foreknows. A person of faith will release God's power.

In the Bible, the woman with the issue of blood touched Jesus and was healed. Jesus said to her, Daughter, your faith has made you well. I pondered for a long time: if that woman had touched a big tree, no amount of faith would have helped. If she touched not a big tree but an idol, it might have worked, or it might not. Later, I discovered that Jesus was filled with God's power because the woman touched Jesus, and that is why she was healed.

I began to understand what the power of God is. Someone who had suffered from insomnia for twenty years came to us and was healed. The reason? I embody the likeness of Abraham, I strive earnestly to be like Jesus, I constantly seek treasures, and I continuously climb God's spiritual heights. Those who come among us and are healed, have they not believed in the Lord for many years? Why are they not healed in other churches but are healed among us?

Therefore, we must clearly know what kind of person we want to become. Are you willing to receive a calling? Are you willing to become a person who strives earnestly and dwells in God's grace continually? Know that faith is a foundation. A person of faith is difficult to wound. Why? Because a person of faith does not easily discern good and evil.

Last night, I prayed with my mother, and it was really tough! Her palms turned bluish-purple, indicating a lack of oxygen in her blood. As I prayed for her, she was filled with demons! I went at it, bang, bang, bang, and knocked the demons flat in a short while. Her palms recovered. I pondered, and realized that my mother could be healed because there are those of us who serve God.

Some time ago, a sister was overwhelmed by the situation of her mother and her grandparents. I ministered to her, rebuilt her faith, and after her mind was completely transformed, she not only emerged from the collapsing environment, but even her grandmother and grandfather were freed! Why? Because those of us who are willing to become like Abraham naturally become a blessing to many. Because within us, there is faith, and this faith is the foundation.

We believe that this world is a spiritual world, we believe that people need eternal life, and we believe that the worldly value system is trash. Because of this belief, we do not focus on short-term gains, we look to the crown of glory that God has prepared for us in eternity. If our faith only sees three to five years, that is problematic, that is not called vision, that is called having dim eyes, unable to see. What blinds people's eyes? It is the worldly value system.

Later, I gradually discovered that a considerable number of people highly value short-term gains. All their actions are based on sight, not on faith. What will happen to these people in the future? They will be swept into the trash by God. Not that this won't happen in our church, absolutely not! I long for God to raise up victorious churches everywhere, I long for God to raise up churches that are after His heart and where His presence dwells. If we have a worldly value system within us, we will easily be wounded by trivial matters, and then enter into discerning good and evil.

Severing Worldly Temptations

Later, I gradually came to understand that people with malignant diseases, those heavily controlled by serious illnesses, or those deeply possessed by demons, have deep curses upon them. Because the worldly logic system is too strong in their bones. Therefore, our brothers and sisters must begin to deal with these worldly value systems. A worldly value system is an idolatrous value system.

Sometimes I wonder: how is it that only seven thousand in all of Israel did not bow the knee to Baal? Why do those people love to worship idols so much? I tell you, worshiping idols really works. If you love money, you can try worshiping. Does anyone think I am encouraging you to worship idols? Actually, seeing how much you love money, it's almost the same as worshiping idols.

Worshiping idols really works, many actors who sought out White Dragon King became famous. Someone might say: Why are you advertising for idols? No! I am just telling you that these people did not worship idols because of the idols themselves, but because of the worldly value system within them. They desire certain things, and this worldly value system drives them to worship idols.

At that time, so many Israelites worshiped Baal, indicating that worshiping Baal works. Business booms when you worship Baal! Actors immediately become famous when they worship Baal. Eventually, they live and die, and are thrown to the devil, which is hell.

We gradually understand that people worship idols because they love the world. Why did my elder sister fall into idol worship? Because my elder sister, in order to make money in business, sought out a fortune-teller who lived next door: Hey, can you tell me if this place is good for business? This place is good for business, but you can only do it for two years. After two years, you better leave quickly, the wealth here only lasts for two years. Said it perfectly! After two years, no one went into the store.

I have an advice for money lovers: you have to worship idols properly. If you pursue the benefits of this life, you can embrace the worldly value system. What are such people in God's eyes? Trash! Today I advise you to start establishing a godly value system, and start completely demolishing the worldly value system.

Later, when I was casting out demons, I discovered an old horse system: this world is managed by an evil spirit called Old Horse. Old Horse said he manages the sewers. At first, I thought it was the sewers of this world, but later I pondered repeatedly, this does not refer to the sewers of the world, but to an ecosystem created by God. Through this ecosystem, the treasures are collected, and the trash is discharged. How is the trash discharged? Through this sewer. The sewer flows continuously into the lake of fire and brimstone and into hell. This lake of fire and brimstone is the trash incinerator!

What is God doing? God wants to bring His people into glory. We all need God's mercy. God will surely give His grace and mercy to those who look to God's mercy and no longer become self-righteous. If we look to God's mercy with faith, believing that God is a good God, we will surely become God's people, and we will surely strive to draw near to God and strive to love God.

God has placed one case after another before me. Among those who run on this heavenly path, countless have died in the wilderness and in the land of Egypt, becoming trash, simply corpses strewn everywhere! Not many receive God's grace and promise. In the days of Abraham, there was only one Abraham, and in the days of Isaac and Jacob, there was only one Isaac and Jacob. Isaac had two sons, but Esau lost God's grace and became cursed.

What is this worldly value system? It is relying on one's own hands, having extremely short-sightedness, and valuing living itself. If we only value the matter before death, I will give you a small blow, pour cold water on you, and you have already been sentenced to death, only with a reprieve of seventy or eighty years. You live one day less each day. But if we possess a godly value system, we live in eternal life today. Because of our faith in Him, God will ensure that those who trust in Him will not be put to shame.

We will carry God's power and God's glory to transmit this glorious Gospel of calling. Even when we are wounded, we are not hurt. When we are framed, we absolutely do not fall. Even when we encounter all kinds of difficulties, we still rely on God and trample all difficulties under our feet. Do our brothers and sisters have this mindset? If we have this mindset, tell ourselves: nothing can stop me from entering this path of glory, honor, and eternal life.

Sometimes I pray to God: My God, You are full of grace and full of mercy. In the past, I took the wrong path, and Your mercy and Your grace allowed me to have the opportunity to turn back to You. Today, whether one has fallen or stumbled, if one is willing to continue to run along this heavenly path with me, let us run together.

Yesterday I asked a sister, I said: what will these people do if the demons come back to mess with them again? She said: if they can't find a solution, they will come back to us again. I said: what should we do? They looked at me and didn't know what I was thinking. I said: brothers and sisters, we need to have a pastor's heart, because our God is such a God.

Our God is truly full of grace and mercy! God says: turn back to Me, and I will turn to you. You turn to Me, and I will turn to you! My God, You are so awesome, You are full of grace and mercy. Because of Your grace and mercy, we are able to live in Your loving-kindness; because of Your grace and mercy, You did not let us fall, but instead became our strength, became our rock, so that we can continue to run forward.

I say from the bottom of my heart: My God, I thank You, I want to emulate Your path, emulate Your likeness, no matter who has hurt me, offended me, if they are willing to turn back to You, You accept them, and I will accept them too. But after these people solve their problems, let them do as they please!

Were not the ten lepers also healed? Did God not know what they were thinking in their hearts? In God's heart, let the one who is willing to be holy remain holy, and let the one who is filthy remain filthy.

The work we do is to bring the godly people together into God's kingdom. We will never bring trash into God's kingdom, because God does not delight in such things. May God constantly do the work of selection among us, may God constantly do the work of elimination among us, may God constantly do the work of cleansing among us, so that His church is filled with God's glory, is after God's heart, and becomes a blessing to this generation.

May God bless everyone!
