Learning Objectives

• There is a very interesting phenomenon in the Bible: the Lord Jesus did not develop courses on healing and deliverance, and the Apostle Paul did not specifically mention courses on healing and deliverance. We should ask ourselves, why? How should we approach healing and deliverance?

• We must return to the teachings of the Lord Jesus in the Bible. So, we will examine how the Lord Jesus taught His disciples in the context of healing and deliverance. The Lord Jesus often criticized them for their lack of faith, and occasionally mentioned fasting and prayer. The Apostle Paul also frequently mentioned the issue of faith. It turns out that faith and prayer are the keys to healing and deliverance!

Question 1: Find the Biblical Basis for Doing Healing and Deliverance

In the previous lesson, we learned that healing and deliverance are fundamental works of the Church and one of the keys to blessing this generation. To dispel some of the popular misconceptions, we must return to the Bible and see how the Lord Jesus taught and did healing and deliverance.

Please answer the following questions:

• Why didn't the Lord Jesus and the Apostle Paul develop a set of courseware for healing and deliverance? How did the Lord Jesus teach in the process of teaching His disciples about healing and deliverance? What was the key to His teaching?

• What did the Lord Jesus train the first group of 12 disciples to do when He sent them out? Find the relevant scripture.

• What did the Lord Jesus train the second group of 70 disciples to do when He sent them out? Find the relevant scripture.

• What would the Lord Jesus send the third, fourth, or Nth group of disciples out to do if He were to train them?

Question 2: How Did the Lord Jesus Do Healing and Deliverance?

Study the following scripture and find the key to the healing and deliverance of the Canaanite woman's child:

Mat 15:22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. Mat 15:23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. Mat 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Mat 15:25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. Mat 15:26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs. Mat 15:27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table. Mat 15:28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

Answer the following questions:

• Why did the Lord Jesus say, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs?

Question 3: How Did the Lord Jesus Do Healing and Deliverance?

Study the following scripture and find the key to the healing and deliverance of the woman with the issue of blood:

Luk 8:43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, Luk 8:44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched. Luk 8:45 And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? Luk 8:46 And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. Luk 8:47 And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. Luk 8:48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

Question 4: What Caused Jesus' Disciples to Be Unable to Cast Out Demons?

Study the following scripture and find the reason why the disciples could not cast out the demon:

Mak 9:16 And he asked the scribes, What question ye with them? Mak 9:17 And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit; Mak 9:18 And wheresoever he taketh him, he tearest him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not. Mak 9:19 He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me. Mak 9:20 And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming. Mak 9:21 And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child. Mak 9:22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us. Mak 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Mak 9:24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. Mak 9:25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him. Mak 9:26 And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead. Mak 9:27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose. Mak 9:28 And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out? Mak 9:29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

Question 5: The Relationship Between Healing and Deliverance and the Church

Read Matthew 16:18-19 and then answer the questions:

Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Mat 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

• Does overcoming the power of hell belong to an individual or the Church?

• Are the keys of the kingdom of heaven given to the Church or to an individual? What do the keys of the kingdom of heaven mean?

• What does whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven mean? What is the relationship with the Church being built on the rock mentioned earlier?

Question 6: The Key to Healing, Deliverance, and Casting Out Demons

Read Ephesians 1:17-23, and then answer the questions:

Eph 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: Eph 1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, Eph 1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Eph 1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Eph 1:21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: Eph 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Eph 1:23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

• Is the Church the body of the Lord Jesus?

• Is the power of the Lord Jesus' resurrection manifested through the Church?

Testimony: Healing and Deliverance from Depression

I came to Singapore at the end of August last year. Thank God, one week after I came to Singapore, which was in September last year, God led me to the church. At that time, I had severe insomnia, followed by depression and obsessive tendencies. After arriving at the church, I was touched by the testimonies and friendliness of the brothers and sisters, and my cell group members encouraged me to come to the church to pray almost every day. So, with the accompaniment of the cell group leader and my parents, we prayed together for 3 months. However, during these 3 months, there were no significant results. On the contrary, things were getting worse. More problems appeared in my mind, problems that I had when I saw a psychiatrist in high school. Under this circumstance, my faith was increasingly challenged. I began to question whether God would make me a vessel for His use, whether God was truly a God who heals, and whether He would heal my years of insomnia. But the pastor still encouraged me with words of faith, saying that I should hold on to God's promises and persevere.

Three months later, my parents came to Singapore to see me. I hoped that they could also come to this church to believe in the Lord. But just a few days after they arrived in Singapore, the spiritual warfare I faced was unprecedentedly intense and fierce. The attacks of the devil became more and more severe, and I had reached the point where I could no longer resist. My mind was filled with all kinds of chaotic, threatening, and mocking voices, Where is your God? Will Jesus save you? Why don't you go back to your country and find a psychiatrist to prescribe some medicine? At that time, I had nowhere to go. I couldn't sleep at all at night, and my heart was filled with panic and fear. I looked like a ghost, and I kept calling the pastor at night. Seeing me like this, my parents were particularly worried. I had never seen my father cry before. In my eyes, he was a very strong man. However, my father said that the days in Singapore were the days he cried the most in his life. In those days, my parents often sobbed. The three of us were either silent or in tears. They really didn't know what was wrong with their daughter, let alone think of any way to make me better. One day, after my parents left my dormitory, I prepared to rest, and my heart was filled with unease. I didn't know how to spend the night. It looked like it was going to be another sleepless night.

Sure enough, I tossed and turned, my heart beat faster, and my mind was full of chaos. Finally, in order to make myself feel less anxious, I had the idea of self-harm, because the physical pain could help me divert my attention. Later, I took the scissors and repeatedly scraped my wrists back and forth, hoping to stop thinking so much through physical pain. In fact, several times, I wanted to scrape deeper and end it all, but when I thought that if I died like this, I didn't know if I would be able to see Jesus. Even if I saw the Lord Jesus, how should I face Him? Also, what would my parents do if they saw that I had committed suicide? I had wanted them to come to Singapore to believe in the Lord, but in the end, they didn't believe in Jesus, and their daughter was gone. Under these considerations, I didn't dare to commit suicide. Looking back now, it was actually the spirit of death. The next day, I came to the church to pray with my hands scratched by scissors. I was full of despair along the way. When the pastor saw my hands, he said to me, PL, do you believe that you can be delivered today? If you are not delivered today, don't stop praying. If you are still not delivered tomorrow, then pray until tomorrow, until you are delivered. At that time, my faith had reached a low point, and I really didn't know if I would be delivered. Later, my parents also came to the church. When they found out what I had done, they were stunned and didn't know what to do. They and the pastor watched as they prayed for my deliverance.

In less than an hour, a miracle finally happened. My body began to twitch uncontrollably, and many cries came from my mouth, and these voices were not like the voices I usually spoke with. It was like the scene of Jesus casting out demons in the Gospels. The pastor knelt for more than 7 hours that day before ending the first round of deliverance. And that day, I finally had a comfortable sleep. In the days that followed, until now, I am still constantly being delivered. The brothers and sisters and the pastor have cumulatively released me for about 30 hours, and I myself have become stronger and stronger.

Now, God has completely healed my sleep, thank the Lord! In the traditional church in China before, I thought that Jesus' healing and casting out of demons were things that happened more than two thousand years ago, that God was not a God who heals, that there were only sins and no demons on people, and that they had to carry their own crosses. In the whole theological concept, God seemed to be a cruel, weak, and powerless God. However, coming to this church, through the daily filling of the Holy Spirit and prayer, allowed me to enter into more of God's truth and understand that God is willing to heal us, a good God who wants to deliver us.

The Gospels record that all who come to seek Jesus will be delivered and healed. Jesus never saw a patient and said, This is the suffering I have given you to teach you humility, etc. God never dominates people. He is always a God who bestows grace. Thank God for leading me to this church full of love, power, and truth! For me, the most beautiful blessing God has given me in my life is not education or work, but a victorious, glorious, holy, and united church that allows me to be a member of the body of Christ and inherit God’s exceeding and eternal weight of glory! I also firmly believe that God will make me a mighty soldier to deliver those who are oppressed!

Learning How to Do Healing and Deliverance from the Method the Lord Jesus Taught His Disciples

Today, we will talk about the second part of lesson 2, how to do healing and deliverance. There is a very interesting phenomenon in the Bible: the Lord Jesus did not develop courses on healing and deliverance, and the Apostle Paul did not develop courses on healing and deliverance. So, we have to ask ourselves, why is this? How should we do healing and deliverance? So, we still have to go back to the Bible and see how the Lord Jesus taught. Because the Lord Jesus did the best job of healing and deliverance, we will go and see how the Lord Jesus taught His disciples in healing and deliverance.

In the process of teaching, the Lord Jesus often criticized them for their lack of faith, and occasionally mentioned some fasting and prayer. The Apostle Paul also mentioned the issue of faith. From this, we can see that the issue of faith is closely related to healing and deliverance.

In fact, in the four Gospels, Jesus almost never criticized people for blind faith, nor did He criticize people for believing too much. Throughout this process, Jesus repeatedly criticized people for not having faith, or for having little faith, or even for not believing.

Today, I am going to talk about how to do healing and deliverance, and I want to give you a very interesting concept. What do we use to practice healing and deliverance? Through practicing faith, practicing a persistent faith. If you practice faith and do not give up, you will not give up until you win. If you have such a character, you will definitely do a good job of healing and deliverance.

In fact, Jesus did not spend a long time training His disciples. Basically, it was a very simple training. And the Bible does not specifically describe what training Jesus did, but only gave some explanations of the logical system of the kingdom of heaven, and then gave them authority, and the disciples went to do healing and deliverance. So today, when we go back to the Bible and look at it, we find that the Lord Jesus' training in healing and deliverance is actually very simple.

In the past few years, I have seen many courses on healing and deliverance. I have found one characteristic, that is, the things they talk about are making a very simple thing complicated. And we brothers and sisters have to learn a lesson, that is, to make complicated things simple.

In fact, you see, why are smartphones so popular? Because smartphones have made a complicated thing simple. How is it simplified? Because the programmers have written those complicated things very simply, and then people can solve many problems by clicking on the phone.

Making simple problems complicated is what the Pharisees did; making complex problems simple is what our Lord Jesus did. So, I think we must find the foundation of healing and deliverance in the Bible.

Healing and Deliverance Is the Basic Work of the Church

Healing and deliverance are the basic work of the church. That is to say, if the church does not do healing and deliverance, it is actually not a church. What I said may be a bit absolute, but I think that according to Jesus Christ's definition of the church, healing and deliverance must be done in the church. Because the early church did healing and deliverance, that is to say, the churches established by Paul were all churches that did healing and deliverance.

Releasing people from bondage is the most basic work of the Church and one of the keys to us being able to bless this era. Don't we want to have a Mingding Destiny? Isn't our Mingding Destiny to be a blessing to all nations on earth? If you want to be a blessing to all nations on earth, you must do healing and deliverance. This is also what Jesus Christ did.

Why didn't Jesus Christ and the Apostle Paul develop courseware for healing and deliverance? Many churches have courses on healing and deliverance, spending four or five days teaching people how to do healing and deliverance. Today, I am also teaching you how to do healing and deliverance. Some people will ask, Aren't you contradicting yourself? Pastor, you said you wouldn't teach, but you taught again. The key is what content to teach. The Lord Jesus also taught His disciples, and then sent them out. After they came back, they said that the demons also obeyed them. So, we have to see how the Lord Jesus taught, what the key to His teaching was, and how the Lord Jesus made this complicated problem simple.

Faith Is the Foundation of Healing and Deliverance

I have found that even a four-year-old child can do healing and deliverance in our church. He doesn't have much knowledge. Healing and deliverance is not related to how much knowledge you have, but to how much faith you have. That is to say, throughout the entire Bible, faith is the foundation.

Does a four-year-old child understand before believing, or believe before understanding? In fact, I am teaching you a lesson today: never understand before believing. Believing is believing, not understanding before believing. If you understand and then believe, can you really understand? In fact, you don't understand either. For example, God gives us authority. Do you really understand? In fact, you only understand after you use it. If you don't use it, you will never understand. Many people who claim to understand actually just think they do.

Faith is also the same. Faith is a choice in the heart. In many teachings, I am more opposed to this kind of teaching: ask the Lord to add faith for me. In fact, Jesus has never taught such a thing as ask the Lord to add faith.

So today, let's ask, why didn't Paul develop this courseware? Because the key to healing and deliverance is faith. As long as a person has faith, all problems can be solved. Everyone is welcome to try it. For example, when we are doing healing and deliverance, I only teach you one sentence: By Jesus' wounds, I am healed. Do you believe it? If you believe By Jesus' wounds, I am healed, then you will definitely be healed.

When you start to believe, then you start to pray, so how do you pray? By Jesus' wounds, I am healed, and then In the name of Jesus Christ, I command this disease and the evil spirits behind it to go away! It often has miraculous effects.

I have seen many people pray like this, saying, “Lord, please heal me! Lord, please heal me!” But I have observed that few receive healing through such prayers. When I prayed like this myself, I never received healing.

Later, in my practice, I discovered that faith is a discipline. When you start to practice faith, that is, believe! Believe! Believe! Then the effect is extraordinary! Later, I found many bases in the Bible that practicing healing and deliverance is practicing faith! Today, there are still many people who feel that the church should not do healing and deliverance or should not do so much healing and deliverance. Then I feel that I need to go back to the Bible to examine it.

In the Bible, I saw something that surprised me very much: the first disciples that the Lord Jesus trained, a total of twelve, and then sent them out. What did He send them out to do? He sent them out to heal the sick and cast out demons, to heal and deliver. Why? Because healing the sick and casting out demons, healing and deliverance is the best practice of faith. If you have faith, you will definitely do these things. Therefore, signs and wonders will accompany those who believe. What kind of signs and wonders?

And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well. (Mark 16:17-18)

Speaking of laying hands on the sick, Brother HF told me some time ago that it depends on where you lay your hands. Some people lay their hands on the affected area, but later I found that it works quite well to lay them on some acupoints. This is not a teaching in the Bible, so please don't misunderstand me. It is based on the prompting of the Holy Spirit that you lay your hands. If it works well, continue to lay your hands, and then you practice this way of laying hands.

Healing and Deliverance is the Authority God Gives Us

What did the Lord Jesus establish these twelve disciples to do?

When Jesus had called the twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. (Luke 9:1-2)

It turns out that proclaiming the kingdom of God and healing the sick, subduing all demons, and healing all kinds of diseases are closely related. It turns out that healing and deliverance is related to authority. Have you obtained authority today? If you feel that you have obtained authority today, then go fight this battle, and you will surely win!

There are also records in the Bible! What is recorded? All those who came to Jesus were healed! No exceptions. I think this is particularly good. Later, these twelve disciples were sent out to preach the kingdom of God and heal the sick. Healing the sick and preaching the kingdom of God are closely related, that is to say, the way of our kingdom of God is closely related to healing the sick.

The Bible clearly records that the Lord Jesus gave the disciples ability and authority to subdue all demons and heal all kinds of diseases. But does it talk about their lives? No. In fact, the lives of these twelve disciples were a complete mess! You know if you read the four Gospels: Jesus is about to be crucified, and these disciples are still arguing about who is the greatest. I tell you: they were really not good!

Then how can they heal the sick and cast out demons with such rotten lives? Because they rely on the name of Jesus Christ, on the power and authority from God, and on faith.

Today, if you are doing healing and deliverance, and the devil challenges your behavior and accuses you of being too rotten to be qualified to do healing and deliverance, reject it! Because we do not cast out demons based on our behavior at all, but based on the authority God has given us. Because Jesus Christ has bestowed this power and authority on us. If the devil accuses you, reject it! You don't need to think about it at all, you just rebuke it in the name of Jesus.

Some people say that you can't cast out demons if you have an opening. But the Bible doesn't say these things. In fact, openings are not fatal, but lack of faith is! If you don't have faith to do healing and deliverance, you can't do it. A sister asked me: Pastor, I cast out demons and heal the sick for someone, but later I had a headache, then I coughed, and my body was very bad. How do I explain this? I said: What's there to explain? Don't do healing and deliverance if you don't have faith. What are you doing healing and deliverance for without faith? If you do healing and deliverance with faith, and you have problems after healing and casting out demons for others, deal with these problems with faith! Just find your leader and pray together.

Back to the main topic, the Bible records that Jesus only trained two groups of disciples. Jesus first trained twelve disciples, and then trained seventy disciples. What did the Lord Jesus send this second group of disciples out to do? He also gave them the power and authority to subdue all demons, heal all kinds of diseases, and send them to proclaim the kingdom of God and heal the sick.

The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” (Luke 10:17)

They were surprised to find that their lives were not so good, but the demons were subject to them, because of the power and authority.

So today, brothers and sisters, you must know for sure that the gospel Paul preached is the gospel of faith. Nothing works without faith. Without faith, it is impossible to please God. Faith is the key to healing and deliverance. I am saying these things hoping that everyone understands what the Bible says, not just teaching you how to do healing and deliverance. I want everyone to understand what the Bible says, and then do healing and deliverance.

So today, the core of the healing and deliverance we are doing is faith! Prayer, letting the Spirit of God move, is the key. Faith is obtained through practice, and the prayer of faith must be persistent. The movement of the Spirit of God is a prerequisite.

Healing the sick and casting out demons, practicing faith, this is the time when the power of God is released. The power of God is released through the operation of the Holy Spirit. The infilling of the Holy Spirit is limitless, so at that time, Jesus gave them the power of the Holy Spirit, and the Spirit of God operated in those disciples, and then they went to cast out demons with such power.

The Bible only records that Jesus trained two groups of disciples, the first group of twelve and the second group of seventy. But we can imagine that if Jesus trained group after group of disciples, and there were third, fourth, fifth... or even the hundredth group, what kind of training would the Lord Jesus give them? It is the same training! It is to give them the power and authority to subdue all demons, heal all kinds of diseases, and send them to proclaim the kingdom of God and heal the sick.

Eager to do what the Lord Jesus did

Today, if you and I are disciples of Jesus Christ, do you want to obtain power and authority? Do you want to do the work of healing the sick and casting out demons? Yes! This is an extremely rewarding thing, because you practice faith, you can bless many people. Don't you want to be a blessing to many people? If your own family has problems and you cannot bless them, how can you bless others? Family members get sick and then see a doctor, which seems good. But the Bible does not say this, and Jesus did not train the disciples to tell the sick to see a doctor after preaching the kingdom of God everywhere.

Sick people have seen countless doctors. When I first believed in the Lord, I went to a traditional church. The traditional church introduced me to doctors, but later I found that it was not very useful. After a while, when I really wanted to go to church, I walked into a church myself. It just so happened that the church was what they called Charismatic. As for what denomination it is, I don't care. What I care about is whether the church has the power of God, not what philosophical doctrines it follows.

Later, when I read the Bible, I felt that this so-called Charismatic church was more in line with the Bible. At least the things Jesus said happened there. So, brothers and sisters, you must know that you may be the hundredth group or even the hundred and first group of disciples. But it doesn't matter, you are the ones trained by Jesus, given the power and authority, and you do it with faith, proclaim the kingdom of God, heal the sick and cast out demons.

If the matter of Jesus casting out demons is excluded from the Bible, then the Bible will definitely not be the Bible. We often pray for the kingdom of God to come. Then how does the kingdom of God come? The kingdom of God comes by casting out demons by the Spirit of God, and this is how the kingdom of God comes to us.

There is a saying: Jesus cast out demons, but we don't cast out demons now. Where are the demons now? In fact, the work of the devil today is as rampant as it was in the days of Jesus. This has never changed. So today, brothers and sisters, you must know for sure that these signs will accompany those who believe, which is what Jesus said after his resurrection. See how well this is said! If someone tells you, These signs will accompany those who believe, and the signs are not casting out demons, but life transformation. No! Jesus didn't say that.

A church leader, who had a lot of contact with me, was more influenced by me. That church was very traditional, so he copied and printed this passage of scripture and put a stack of it in the church. Then he was severely criticized by the pastor of their church, and his leader was removed. Then the pastor of their church said: This passage was added later and should not have been in the Bible. But the Gospel of Mark has been circulating in the world for nearly two thousand years. Is this saying not good? This saying is very good! You don't want it? I want it! Then I practiced according to these words, and signs and wonders indeed accompanied those who believed.

Why did the Lord Jesus say in my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues in this place? Everyone must know that speaking in tongues is praying in the Holy Spirit. This is something that is very clearly stated in the New Testament. Paul stated very clearly: For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays (1 Corinthians 14:14). If it is praying in the Holy Spirit, then it is the Spirit of God moving. For a while, I was a little confused about the first verse of Genesis, because I didn't know how to lead my brothers and sisters to study it.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.(Genesis 1:1-3)

My consistent view of reading the Bible is: People should act on what they read in the word of God. I am an engineer, and when I read this chapter, I kept thinking: How can I put this into practice? If someone asks me: Pastor, how should I act after reading this sentence? How can I explain it to my brothers and sisters? I was dumbfounded: I can't go back to the time when God created the heavens and the earth and do it again. Then what should I do? I prayed. God's revelation came upon me, and I was shocked! When I prayed, God said this:

People who come to you are always living in a state of emptiness, chaos, abyss, and darkness. You must pray to let the Spirit of God move, and then you must declare aloud, 'Let there be light,' and there will be light, and their lives will have hope.

Later, I followed these words to implement them. How to implement them? Because Paul was a person who prayed a lot in tongues. He said: I speak in tongues more than all of you. In fact, I later imitated Paul and often prayed in tongues, prayed a lot, and the Spirit of God moved. When the Spirit of God moves, people declare very quickly. That is also in my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues. New tongues are to let the Spirit of God move, and then, lay your hands on the sick, and they will get well, you try it.

Spiritual Organs Filled with the Holy Spirit

What if I lay my hands on this patient and he doesn't get better? Then continue to lay your hands. Later I said to God: If I lay my hands on him once and it doesn't work, I will lay my hands on him twice; if it doesn't work twice, I will lay my hands on him ten times; if it doesn't work ten times, I will lay my hands on him a hundred times; if it doesn't work a hundred times, I will lay my hands on him ten thousand times, until he gets better! However, this kind of determination gave me a surprising discovery: laying hands on the sick is a magical thing.

The hand is a spiritual organ, and many spiritual things are related to the hand. For example, Qigong is a spiritual thing, and any kind of power needs to use the hand. We believers in the Lord must also know that the hand is a spiritual organ. Believers in the Lord all know to lay hands, but where to lay hands is a big question. One day a sister had a particularly painful leg. After arriving at the church, many people prayed for her, but it didn't get better no matter what. I looked at her and asked in my heart: God, what should I do with this disease? Suddenly, I had a strong prompting, so I pointed my finger to an acupoint on her leg. After I pointed it, I commanded the leg pain to go away in the name of Jesus Christ! 5 seconds, completely disappeared! It's so magical! That is to say, the Holy Spirit will move you to lay your hands on a certain place. The key to healing and deliverance is really in the Holy Spirit. Because it is not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord Almighty. So the Spirit of God will definitely move us.

Faith Achieves Healing and Deliverance

The promises of Jesus Christ are all about these things. If all the signs and wonders in the Bible are removed, then the Bible would probably only have a cover and a back cover. The entire Bible is talking about signs and wonders, and in fact, Genesis Chapter 1 is a sign and wonder: God said, Let there be light, and there was light. It is difficult for you to understand how there will be light, how there will be light when God says there is light. Then we declare healing in the name of Jesus Christ and we are healed. Now the question is, how should we do healing and deliverance? I tell you, there are many cases of healing and deliverance recorded in the Bible:

A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.” Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.” He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.” The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said. He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.” “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.” Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.(Matthew 15:22-28)

In fact, God is teaching us one thing through this sentence: Your faith is great, let your request be granted! How was this woman's daughter healed? It was because of the woman's faith. What does this woman's faith reflect? It is reflected in the fact that she knows no matter what that God will heal her. Jesus says she is a dog, but she doesn't care if she is a dog. She just believes that Jesus will definitely heal her child. Look, what great faith this is! Jesus said it is not good to take the children's bread and give it to the dogs, and she replied, Even the dogs eat the crumbs left behind by the master. That is the mentality of I will get what I want even if I pick up the scraps from under your table! I believe you will give it to me!

Why did Jesus say It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to the dogs? Because Jesus wants to see if you really believe, and if you really believe, then He will really give it to you! So the key to healing and deliverance is to see if you really believe. If you don't really believe, you won't get it; if you really believe, you will definitely get it!

Does this Canaanite woman have any good behavior? No. So today, brothers and sisters, we must completely reject the logical system of the Pharisees or the new Pharisees, which is a behavior-based logical system. This behavior-based logical system is: I am not good enough, I am not worthy of God's grace. But the Bible never says that! The Bible says whether you have faith, and if you have faith, you can receive God's grace. The Canaanite woman's child was healed because of the woman's faith, not because of her behavior. So God has repeatedly and clearly told us that healing and deliverance are related to faith.

So today, brothers and sisters, don't be calculative about this or that. If Jesus says you are a dog, so be it! Even if you are a dog, you must eat God's grace. Whether I am a dog or not is not important, what is important is that I believe that God will heal my child, and what is important is that I believe that God is a God who gives grace. Do you understand?

So brothers and sisters, you must start to develop this habit of faith, and don't lose the big picture for small gains. A person who loses the big picture for small gains is very deadly, and is calculative about whether he is a dog or not. I am a boss in my job. Once, I was interviewing a Chinese person who was a Ph.D. After he came in, I wanted to test him to see if he could do my job and if he could be competent for my job. I tested his emotional intelligence. How did I test it? I said, You are wearing this ragged clothes, are all Chinese people like this? Then he immediately became angry and said, You can insult me, but you cannot insult us Chinese people! My colleagues who were interviewing with me laughed. I said, I am also Chinese. I just stimulated him to test him, but he couldn't overcome it.

Many times our God is often like this, often saying you are a dog. In fact, whether you are a dog or not does not matter. God is testing you, so don't forget what you came for. The Canaanite woman came to get healing and to get God's grace. Do you believe that you can get God's grace? If you believe it, then whether you are a dog or not does not matter, you must grasp the key!

Faith to Claim Grace

How does Jesus do healing and deliverance? Jesus will test people's faith, and those who have faith will be healed. Why is it said that this Canaanite woman's faith is great? Because no matter what you say, she believes that God is the God who heals her. No matter what happens, we believe that God is the God who heals us. I firmly believe this! If you and I have such faith today, believing that God is the God who heals us, and then continue to pray, we will definitely be healed! This is called great faith. What made the Canaanite woman's child be delivered? Because the child was covered by her mother's authority. In healing and deliverance, if a woman intercedes for her child, her child will be healed. But if it is someone else's child, not under your cover, I think there should be a problem.

What have we learned from this case? The first is faith, and the second is to ask for the person under your authority, and the person under your cover will be healed by your faith.

Faith can directly claim God's healing grace. There are many such words in the Bible. Today we begin to understand how faith works. A person with false self-esteem does not have faith. This Canaanite woman really did not argue with God about whether she was a dog, but had a clear goal and believed in God's healing, which is called great faith.

Do you know? After faith becomes great, it will bring a strong desire, the kind of desire that never gives up, which is called great faith. Without desire, it is difficult to have faith. I believe that some people say: Lord, if you want to heal me, then heal me, if you don't heal me, then forget it. I think it is difficult for such people to be healed.

There are many more examples of how the Lord Jesus did healing and deliverance. There is also such a record:

And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped. Who touched me? Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you. But Jesus said, Someone touched me; I know that from me power has gone out. Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. Then he said to her, Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.(Luke 8:43-48)

This passage does not record Jesus praying for this patient? Without praying for the patient, how did the power go out? The power from Jesus went out without Jesus' permission. This is so amazing! Is it not? What does this tell us? This tells us that if you are a person of faith, then the power from Jesus will be absorbed into your life without Jesus' permission. That is to say, the Lord Jesus actually acquiesced to such things happening without needing to get Jesus' permission again.

There are still many people praying for the Lord's healing, as if God's power has not yet arrived. If you carefully consider it, what will happen when they pray like this? They will begin to doubt the healing power of the Lord Jesus. In reality, we don't need to repeatedly ask the Lord Jesus to heal you, because the Lord Jesus is already waiting behind to heal you! It just depends on whether you have the faith to draw in the power of the Lord.

It's like electricity has always been there, but if you use a rubber band to connect to the electricity, nothing will happen; but if you use a wire to connect to the power source, the light bulb will light up, no permission needed!

But what is the rubber band? It is unbelief. Belief is the wire, and unbelief is the rubber band. Wires can conduct electricity, so belief can draw on God's power. If you have faith, you can directly draw on God's grace, without even needing Jesus' permission! You don't need to say, Lord! Can I pray for this patient? No need to ask! Directly command the demons to leave in the name of Jesus! Just declare it, and if it still doesn't work, alternate between praying in tongues and praying with understanding. No need to do those complicated things. What kind of faith did the woman with the issue of blood have? If I just touch Jesus' garment, I will be healed! She was deeply convinced of this. Such people are powerful, those with faith are very powerful! Don't doubt, just be determined to choose to believe, and keep believing until you receive healing!

Brothers and sisters, you can consider one thing: Do you have this kind of faith within you? If you have this kind of faith, God's power will be drawn in, drawn into your life. The woman with the issue of blood reached out to touch Jesus, which is an active and proactive faith. She didn't sit aside begging, saying, Lord, heal me, Lord, heal me, I also long to be healed, Lord, touch me… No! She said, As long as I touch Jesus, I will be healed! Therefore, the key to healing and deliverance is an active and proactive faith; active and proactive faith is true faith. We are under God's will, so we can have active and proactive faith under God's will. God is pleased with such faith from us.

The Key to Ministry is to Inspire People's Faith

Actually, be careful, those of us who serve often lack faith. What we need to do most is not prayer, but faith! It is to inspire the faith of those being ministered to! The people we minister to often lack faith, so what do you do? Not pray for God to add faith, but release words of faith, telling them, God will surely heal! and then inspire the faith of those being ministered to.

Inspiring the faith of those being ministered to is the most critical component of ministry. So how did the woman with the issue of blood get her faith? She had faith when she saw God, but if you don't have faith, what do you do? Don't go up and pray for them, but inspire their faith. Do you long to be healed? Do you long? Then come and pray with me! If you don't long for it, there's no way; so if you see someone who has no faith at all, there's no use in ministering to them.

Looking at the entire Bible, we still need to deal with the mind of knowing good and evil, indulging the flesh, and loving the world, because indulging the flesh brings death, and the spirit of death brings disease; discerning good and evil is directly opposed to faith. So, brothers and sisters, when we do healing and deliverance, we need to start teaching and then encourage them with the word of God.

So today, if we indulge the flesh and get anxious when we see someone sick, thinking, Let them be healed quickly! Actually, your anxiety is useless; if they don't have faith within, it's useless. If someone has the mind of knowing good and evil, thinking that if they get sick they have to see a doctor and can't get well immediately, it's also useless. These things are just human reasoning. Human knowledge is acting up. Brothers and sisters, you need to learn a lesson from this Canaanite woman: You are saved because of your faith. This gospel is the power of God to save everyone who believes. So if you don't have faith, how can you be saved?

Do Not Argue

There is such a record in the Bible, in Chapter 9 of the Gospel of Mark:

When Jesus came to his disciples, he saw a large crowd around them and the teachers of the law arguing with them. As soon as all the people saw Jesus, they were overwhelmed with wonder and ran to greet him. “What are you arguing with them about?” he asked. A man in the crowd answered, “Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech. Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to drive out the spirit, but they could not.” “You unbelieving generation,” Jesus replied, “how long must I stay with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring the boy to me.” (Mark 9:14-19)

What caused Jesus' disciples to be unable to cast out the demon? Unbelief. Unbelief is a very deadly thing. Where is the disciples' unbelief manifested? It is manifested in argumentation. Argumentation is often a lie of the devil. Brothers and sisters, if you pray for someone and they are not healed, we often easily fall into argumentation: what curse is this, what caused it? Actually, such argumentation is useless. Arguing back and forth, in the end, the demon is not cast out. So when we pray and encounter this kind of situation, it's a bit like the disciples arguing; when we go to pray again at this time, some things start to change.

Although we also ask these questions, don't lose faith. We must not disbelieve; we must believe and continue to persevere in prayer, and we will surely be healed. The Lord Jesus said, Bring him to me, so they brought him. As soon as the boy saw Jesus, the spirit immediately threw him into a convulsion, and he fell to the ground, rolling around and foaming at the mouth. Everyone should pay attention to this point: the child has already been brought to Jesus, but has his condition improved? No. Instead, he convulsed heavily and fell to the ground. Not only did he not get better, but he got worse. Some people, when they see this situation, stop believing in healing.

Later, Jesus said to the boy's father: If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes. Actually, at this time, the child was still foaming at the mouth, and the boy's father immediately cried out, I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief! Actually, the latter sentence didn't need to be said. Later, Jesus rebuked the impure spirit, commanding it to come out of the boy, and after convulsing the boy, the spirit came out. And the child was healed. Actually, God's healing still came upon this child.

Facing the child's problem, these disciples were arguing, arguing about things like Why isn't he getting healed? Why isn't my prayer working? Do you have an opening? Actually, the underlying reason for these arguments is unbelief. If you believe, you will keep praying and get rid of the demon; how can you have time to argue? Facing the child's problem, we should not doubt, just believe. When you believe, you will not argue.

Actually, I often encounter this situation too. Some people have prayed for three months and haven't gotten better; it doesn't matter, I still believe. Previously, someone was controlled by a zombie spirit; the tendons in his neck were shortened, and his neck couldn't move freely like a normal person. As soon as he moved a little, the tendons would tighten, like a rope tied around his neck, which was very painful. Three months of prayer passed, and I didn't give up either.

One day, I asked him, what happened before you got this disease? He said: I used to watch horror movies often, especially zombie movies, and I was scared, wrapping myself in blankets, and then I got this disease. Now I knew, this was a zombie spirit! I said, I'll lead you in prayer, let the brothers and sisters pray together, and bind the zombie spirit. During the prayer, as soon as we prayed about the zombie spirit, he would go crazy. Once we got rid of the zombie spirit, he would be fine. I told him to quickly throw away all the zombie-related discs when he got home. Later, after leading this person in prayer again, his neck quickly loosened. So don't argue; what does it matter if you haven't been healed for three months? One day you will be healed.

How did Jesus answer why these disciples couldn't cast out the demon? Because this kind of demon can only be cast out by fasting and prayer, that is, prolonged prayer; otherwise, this kind of demon cannot come out. Actually, today we need to know, what kind of demon is this? This kind of demon is the dragon, which is very, very stubborn. Those spirits of death are actually not stubborn; they can be dealt with quickly. But the spirit of the dragon is very stubborn. Fasting and prayer is prolonged prayer; faith that perseveres to the end will be victorious. In the process of perseverance, the Holy Spirit will reveal to you, and then, you just need to believe. It may be a day, a week, a month, even a year, it doesn't matter to me; I can always persevere in my faith. Persevering one minute longer than the devil, the devil must and will retreat, and you will be delivered.

But there are also times when the patient doesn't have the faith to persevere, persevering for a day or two and then giving up. If this is the case, we don't need to pray for those who are unwilling to pay the price for prayer. I am willing to pay the price for prayer and ministry; if he is willing to pay the price in the hospital, then let him pay it. Through this matter, we need to know that there are many of this kind of demon, which is a combination of the spirit of death and the spirit of the dragon. This kind of combination is very strong and must be dealt with continuously through prolonged prayer. What did those disciples do before when healing the sick and casting out demons? They were all casting out small evil spirits and demons that would be healed quickly. So they didn't know that dealing with this kind of demon required prolonged prayer.

Healing and Deliverance are Closely Related to the Church

Today, we begin to understand that healing and deliverance are closely related to the church.

And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 16:18-19)

This is talking about God building his church on this rock, and then overcoming the gates of Hades. We must take up the keys of the kingdom of heaven: whatever is bound on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever is loosed on earth will be loosed in heaven. This represents that healing and deliverance is the main axis and key of the church of Jesus Christ.

The relationship between healing and deliverance and the church is very important. The basic function of the church is to release those who are bound, to bind those who bind others, for the oppressed to be released, and for the captives to be set free; this is a very important concept. Some people convey the idea that our church doesn't have this gift. Actually, this is not in accordance with the Bible. The church is to be built on the rock of Jesus Christ, and then to do the work of healing and deliverance, to overcome the gates of Hades. The church is definitely not just about putting on a play for Christmas and working hard for months, putting on programs all day long; that's a theater group, not a church. The real church doesn't do this.

What the church should do is that whatever is bound on earth is bound in heaven, and whatever is loosed on earth is loosed in heaven. That is to say, doing the work of healing and deliverance, healing the sick and casting out demons, is the basic function of the church. Although Jesus gave authority to his disciples, everyone must know that Jesus gave the keys to the church. The gates of Hades cannot overcome the church. Can the powers of Hades overcome an individual? Some people are in the church, but the church doesn't do healing and deliverance, and they themselves are practicing healing and deliverance; I think that's a bit risky.

Actually, there are many brothers and sisters among us who have come from traditional church backgrounds and are still involved in serving in traditional churches. One sister often comes among us; in the traditional church, she often prays for this person and that person. I asked her if she was a leader; she said no, but people often come to her and she does it. How dangerous is that! You have faith, but God built the church on the rock; it is difficult for an individual to overcome the gates of Hades. So, of course, she has many problems. I am not trying to scare you; the 《Bible》indeed says that overcoming the powers of Hades is not for individuals but for the church. The keys of the kingdom of heaven are given to the church, not to individuals. When it is given to the church, we in such a church can bind the powers of Hades, bind the powers of demons and darkness. So today, we are established with the church on the rock of Jesus Christ, which is established on the foundation of the truth of Jesus Christ.

The foundation of truth is the example that Jesus set. So today we need to know that winning the battle is key to the church doing healing and deliverance. When we win the battle, we can see great results in healing and deliverance.

The Church Must Be Built on the Rock of Jesus Christ

The church must be built on the rock of Jesus Christ; this rock is casting out demons in the name of Jesus Christ, and then speaking in new tongues, being able to pick up snakes with your hands, not being harmed if you drink poisonous things, and laying hands on the sick, and the sick will recover. The functions of the church are clear, and the victory of the church is also key. It is very, very important how we can build a victorious church with one heart and one mind in the church. With a victorious church, we can bind the devil and release the captive souls.

To repeat: With a victorious church, we can bind the devil and release the captive souls. Brothers and sisters need to readjust your priorities. Your priority is to first build a victorious church; when the church is victorious, doing healing and deliverance is very fast, and it is also a protection for you. If you don't have protection and you rely on yourself, fighting the devil and the enemy, it would be strange if you weren't taken captive. Don't be a lone soldier, because Jesus built the church on the rock; you must be in the church. This is the view of the church.

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. (Ephesians 1:17)

The entire New Testament speaks of the church. Revelation is written to seven churches, not to seven individuals. The church is the bride of Jesus Christ. Some people say, I am the bride of Jesus Christ, as if they were the bride. Actually, it is not you individually who are the bride of Jesus Christ; the church is the bride of Jesus Christ, the church is the army of Jesus Christ, the church is the body of Jesus Christ. You are only a part of the body. Jesus is the head of all things for the church; the church is his body, which is the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

Today, I also call out and say this to everyone: I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.

Everyone, listen carefully, and understand that we may truly know how great his power is for us who believe. It is not for you to be the head of all things individually; it is for the church to be the head of all things, and you must be under the covering of the church.

That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way. (Ephesians 1:20-23)

The church is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way. The view of the church is a very important concept for the church. Actually, when Martin Luther reformed the church, he also dismantled the view of the church. So they thought justification by faith was individual faith. Actually, it is not; it is the faith of an individual in the body of Christ, and cannot be separated from the premise of the body of Christ. If your faith is still individual, drawing near to God and seeking a good relationship with God individually, this is still not the faith that God wants. You must be in a glorious church, and with one heart and one mind with the brothers and sisters, build up the body of Jesus Christ, build up a glorious church, so that all things are subjected under our feet.

The View of the Church is Very Important; The Body of Jesus Christ is the Church

The view of the church is very important; the body of Jesus Christ is the church, the church is the body of Jesus Christ, the bride of Jesus Christ is the church, and the church is the bride of Jesus Christ. The power of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus is manifested through the church, not through individuals. In the process of a person building up the church, the power of God will be released. Without a glorious church, there is no power of Jesus Christ. It is obvious. The Lord Jesus is the head of all things for the church, not for you individually. Winning the battle is very important, so in a victorious church, healing and deliverance are key. Healing and deliverance are the battle, and the battle is also healing and deliverance. Building up a glorious church is key to the healing and deliverance of the brothers and sisters. For example, Jesus trained twelve disciples, not to let them act independently, but to have them all connected to Jesus Christ. Only by being connected to Jesus Christ can they receive authority.

So today, I would like to introduce to the brothers and sisters that our church has a healing and deliverance ministry. Before I conclude, I would like to share with the brothers and sisters some content about stubborn diseases. Many of our brothers and sisters with depression are healed. Actually, this kind of demon of depression cannot be cast out except by fasting and prayer. This kind of demon is more stubborn.
