When Encountering Difficulties in Learning, It is a Golden Opportunity
Today, we continue from last week's discussion on learning, focusing on When We Encounter Difficulties in Learning. Everyone faces difficulties in learning, and encountering these difficulties is an excellent time to train your character. A person with a quitting disposition will give up on everything. Your reaction to situations determines your level of intelligence. If you encounter difficulties and find ways to overcome them, you learn the most each time you overcome an obstacle.
We often assume that we can only learn in a good environment, but in reality, we learn the most in challenging environments. Today, a sister who just started working shared that her boss constantly adjusts plans, and she said, I can't learn anything in this company. She has a misconception. Work is challenging, but it offers many learning opportunities. In my past work experience, I learned the most when my boss created many obstacles for me. Because of these difficulties and obstacles, there were many different viewpoints, which I carefully examined, learning that the issue of learning is not about the environment, but about yourself.
When you encounter difficulties in learning, it is an excellent learning environment. If your environment is too comfortable, with only positive issues and a boss with very clear plans, you can follow along, but your talent's capacity for development is limited. A wise person chooses a job based on where they can learn the most.
I ask you, Can someone else do what your boss does? If not, why are we thinking of moving to another place? We have biases in our perception of things. Did changing your location solve your personality problems? Does changing your location mean you will lose learning opportunities? Many of our brothers and sisters are in this dilemma. An ordinary person would give up. But if you are not ordinary, you will gradually ponder, dissect, and thoroughly solve the problem.
Complex Problems Are Made Up of Simple Problems
I have shared stories about overcoming difficulties, and these stories are quite inspiring. Some people think that not having gone to university means they have no knowledge; not having gone to high school means they have no knowledge; some people think that not being able to read means they have no knowledge. Learning depends entirely on yourself. If you want to learn, there are plenty of opportunities. When you face difficulties and don't know how to proceed, remember that any complex problem is a combination of simple problems. As long as you can break it down, no matter how complex the problem is, it is a series of simple problems.
When encountering very difficult problems, there are three attributes, called CAU. This is an English word, translated into Chinese as complex, ambiguous, and uncertain. In a person's life, the more CAU problems you can solve, the more capable you become. If you only solve clear and simple problems, you are not very capable. A professional should be able to handle problems that are complex, ambiguous, and uncertain; these are qualities a professional must possess.
If you can only solve clear problems, you are merely a factory worker. When we encounter such problems, we need to gradually define and quantify them. No matter what the problem is, there is always something you know. If you don't know anything, it's usually not a problem you should be solving. Or you may not know what you know. There are some things you need to understand and know, and this process is the learning process.
This learning process is most effective when learning through overcoming difficulties. The issue is the learning method, the teaching method for solving problems. What to do when encountering problems? List what you know and what you don't know, then break them down into many simple problems. If each problem can be solved, when combined, the entire problem can be solved. All complex problems are combinations of simple problems.
Solving Problems Amidst Constant Change and Development
In the process of solving problems, all parameters and factors are often changing. In the process of clarifying things, you must be aware that things are constantly changing and developing. So making things very complex is difficult, as any problem that is constantly changing is elusive. If it's a simple combination, it's easier. But if it's changing, look at its development trend.
If you understand the development trend of things, the various relationships of internal factors, you can boldly predict. In the process of breaking down and predicting, one concept is a guess. The answers to many problems are found through trial and error. The process of trial and error is not a process of speculation but a process of practice. The answer might be this, the answer might be that, it's about searching.
The Bible has a clear principle: 'Seek and you shall find.' God allows us to clearly meet Him in the process of constantly seeking answers to solve problems.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2)
The process of solving problems is a process of experiencing God. When faced with difficulties, you need to learn two things: First, build faith and don't run away from difficulties; second, continue to seek when encountering difficulties.
A person's experience is their ability to solve problems. When I interview employees, I ask, Tell me about the biggest problem you solved recently and how you solved it? Many people can't answer because they haven't solved problems. You can tell in an interview if someone can't solve problems, and we won't hire them. Whether it's interpersonal issues, technical issues, or project management, the more complex it is, the more you need to keep trying.
In the process of solving problems, you will keep trying many approaches, and there may be only a few ways to solve the problem. It is also possible that the problem is not solved in the end, but you know that this path does not work. These paths are impassable, but in the process of exploration, you will learn many things. Encountering difficulties in solving problems is when you are constantly exploring new things. Although these new things may not greatly help you solve the problem, they contribute to your growth.
The Reward for Solving Problems is Exceedingly Beautiful
In the past, when I was building a network, the project leader resigned, and my manager was above him. After he resigned, he left a mess, and my manager wanted to find someone knowledgeable in the market to fill the vacancy. No one told me to do it or not, so I found all the network design problems and studied them carefully. I found that there were serious problems with the design, and the problem was very complex. It required long-term pondering and understanding to demonstrate the severity of the problem and the solution. I went to the manager with the problem, but the manager didn't really look at me and said, Is this related to you?
This had nothing to do with me, but I wanted to understand it. I went to him again the second time, and his attitude was slightly better, but he still said, The decision has been made, you don't need to do it. As a result, I went to him ten times in a row, and he also saw the seriousness of the problem. He asked me what to do? I said do this and that. In this process, I learned a lot. Was it a complex problem? Was it my problem? No. The boss's attitude was actually an obstacle, but also a benefit. He showed this attitude, but I did not feel discouraged at all. In the end, with two weeks left, the problem was solved, and I gained many benefits.
The reward is extremely rich in the process of learning when encountering problems. We must know that in learning when encountering difficulties, you are training your character and your abilities, which is an exceedingly beautiful thing. But many people don't know that this is a good opportunity. Many people will regard it as a bad thing. Never be impatient, learn to face complex problems, constantly break them down, constantly turn them into simple problems, and overcome them one by one. This is a process of constantly collecting information and digesting information.
This is very similar to the theme of my sermon today. Many people think of seeing a doctor when they first get cancer, but they don't know that it is a spiritual matter. The Bible records it clearly, but people don't explore it. People are like this, they find it difficult to do things that are in accordance with God's will in the face of great challenges. I really feel pity for a pastor I like who got sick and needed a kidney transplant; there are people praying for him, but what is the essence behind this?
Conclusion
In my healing and deliverance ministry, there are many difficulties, but every time I encounter difficulties, I go to understand and learn what God's word says? How to further advance? In the end, I find that I really learn a lot. Our healing and deliverance ministry is the best I have seen in the church, establishing a healing and deliverance system, a church system, and a pastoral system. This is all process of learning.
The growth of a business is inseparable from the learning of employees and inseparable from the training of employees. Replacing management with education is a feasible method. This is a viable theory that needs to be explored. Replacing management with education is about helping employees grow, regardless of their work attitude or ability; learning is crucial.
China's development is inseparable from the learning of the Chinese people. The characteristic of the Chinese people is that they are a very diligent nation. The Chinese people are very serious about learning. We must continue to inherit the ability to overcome difficulties in learning. I will share here today, may God bless everyone!
