【Course】The Second Global Online Seminar - Church Shepherding Lesson 1 What is Shepherding

2020-04-03 30,183 Second Workshop - Church Pastoral Care Practice Church Implementation God's Word Paying the Price Shepherding

Course Introduction

Good morning, everyone! Today marks the fourth segment of our Global Online Study, Pastoring of the Church. What was the first part of our study? It was How to Study the Bible. The second part covered The Theological System of Healing and Deliverance. Bible study and healing deliverance together are called pastoring. If you were to ask me what the most important work of the church is, it would be pastoring. So today, we will discuss the pastoring of the church.

Speaking on the pastoring of the church can be a bit offensive. Why is that? Because what today's church lacks the most is pastoring. The reason we can speak on this topic today is not because we are doing well enough; we are far from doing well enough. But if we are working hard to solve the problem of pastoring and still not doing well enough, then how much more regrettable would it be if we were not working hard to solve the problem of pastoring!

Today, I see some pastors placing great importance on worship and praise, especially in the current environment where gatherings are online. They feel that worship and praise are very important. However, I have searched the Bible and have not found anywhere that the Bible places so much importance on worship and praise. Today's church has turned things upside down, making pastoring less important and worship and praise very important. As a result, worship teams often run into problems.

The situation of putting the cart before the horse is quite serious today. However, in our church, the first characteristic that brothers and sisters who come among us can experience is pastoring. But I suggest everyone, after listening to today's course, do not have the mindset: You said it, you said we should pastor this way, but you have not pastored me in this way! This matter of pastoring is something I am telling you to do. The Lord Jesus pastored twelve disciples, so I can only pastor fifteen or sixteen disciples. The remaining tasks will be done by the disciples. If these fifteen or sixteen disciples can pastor another fifteen or sixteen, or thirty to fifty disciples, then the remaining tasks beyond them will be done by these thirty to fifty people. We are not shirking responsibility, but this is originally God's intention. Therefore, we must explain the matter of pastoring clearly in our theological system.

Explaining it clearly is not giving you an opportunity to use what I say to demand things of me. In fact, you do not really have the qualifications to demand things of me. You should demand things of yourself. You demand things of yourself, and I also demand things of myself. Wouldn't it be great if everyone demanded things of themselves? Don't always demand things of others. Many people misread the Bible. The husband reads the Bible and says to his wife: See, you should submit to me. The wife reads the Bible and says to her husband: See, you should love me. This is completely backwards! It's as if reading the Bible is for telling others what to do. Today, let's all read it for ourselves.

Today, many among us feel that they believe in the Lord quite well, listening to this and that. Then I must ask you: Do you have pastoring? If you do not have pastoring yet, then you must start to reflect deeply. Today, I am sharing the first lecture from the previous Global Online Study, Pastoring of the Church. Because even if I were to lecture on it again, it would be about the same, just repeating the words in the Bible over and over again.

So, if you are tired of listening today, then there is one thing I must ask of you: Listening cannot solve the problem; doing can solve the problem. What problem can listening alone solve? Therefore, today, our church, especially the Chinese Mingding Destiny, must dare to touch these sensitive topics. Many churches do not dare to touch these issues because they cannot be explained clearly once touched. Today, let us all demand things of ourselves and listen carefully.

One of the Most Important Tasks of the Church is Pastoring

Today, we will discuss the issue of pastoring. One of the most important tasks of the church is pastoring. Earlier, in the local church, I often lamented that I seemed to be a sheep without a shepherd. In the past few years, I was actually finding food for myself, searching and eating everywhere. Later, when I started to establish a church, I was confused: What exactly is pastoring?

The pastoring of the church is actually very important. We all know in our hearts that we love Jesus, and we also know the dialogue between Jesus and the Apostle Peter, which is based on love. This theme is stated in the Bible as follows:

When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.” Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.” The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep. (John 21:15-17)

I believe that the brothers and sisters among us love the Lord very much. We know that feeding my sheep, taking care of my sheep, is related to loving Jesus. If we love Jesus, we will pastor God's sheep.

In the past few years, we have learned profound lessons. We have discovered that if the church is just a place for gatherings without pastoring, it is a tragedy. Because everyone has problems, and each problem is different. So the problem is that if a church is full of people who love Jesus, it should be a pastoring church.

Love God, then Pastor God's Sheep

My understanding of the church comes from reading the Bible. The Bible says it very clearly. The Bible says that if we love Jesus, we will pastor God's sheep. Does this have something to do with gifts? No! Love God, then pastor God's sheep. If someone says, I do not have the gift of pastoring, you need to know that this is not a question of whether you have a gift, but a question of whether you desire it.

For many years in the local church, I was actually pursuing things on my own. To be honest, I don't remember anything that many pastors preached today because I didn't know what they were talking about. They also liked to arrange time, and then bring a bag of fruit to my house and chat with me for a long time, which made me feel irritated. I asked myself, Is this pastoring?

Returning to the Bible, I learned more about pastoring. Before establishing a church, I didn't care much about how others pastored. We thought that what others were doing was right, so we accepted it. But from my personal perspective, I didn't think that was pastoring. I thought it would be better not to bother me, wasting my time and being of no value to me. Did I lack that bag of fruit? No. Did I lack chatting with others? No. Did I lack having a cup of tea and chatting with others? I didn't lack that either. So what else could we chat about? Actually, there wasn't much to chat about, although we did talk about some scriptures.

Later, when I started to establish a church, I really wanted to understand what pastoring was. I didn't want to bring a bag of fruit to people's homes and chat about irrelevant things, so I knelt down to pray. In fact, God's words in the Bible are very clear, saying if you love Jesus, then pastor God's sheep and feed God's lambs.

I didn't know how to pastor, and I didn't know how to feed, so I was very confused. Then I knelt down and prayed every day. God gave me a few words that were very clear: First, deliver people from the oppression of the devil; second, deal with the carnal habits in people's bodies; third, teach the word of God; fourth, supervise, which is to monitor and observe the implementation of God's word.

Today, our church is a pastoring church, but if you have not yet been included in the ranks of pastoring, especially brothers and sisters online, please forgive me a little. I may not have a pastoring relationship with you yet, but if you have a pastoring relationship with the people I train, and are pastored in the church, you will know that we are very serious.

Among the churches I know, there is no church that pastors as delicately as we do. Maybe I don't understand the situation, but I think there are not many. But as far as I know, the vast majority are gathering churches. We are a pastoring church, not a gathering church. Gathering is for pastoring, and pastoring is not for gathering. Today, I never require brothers and sisters to adhere to gatherings, but the brothers and sisters of the church must be pastored. The purpose of pastoring is to enable these Christians to gradually grow into maturity, fully attaining the stature of Jesus Christ. This is where our pastoring comes from.

Pastoring is to Establish People's Faith in the Word of God

Later, in the process of practice, I kept pondering and understanding what pastoring was all about. In fact, these four aspects are about establishing people's faith in the word of God. If a person establishes faith in the word of God, it can solve many problems.

Therefore, faith is a fundamental problem. If a person has faith in their heart, believes in the word of God, there will be love in their heart, and they will pastor.
I really like to preach the way of Jesus. Jesus saw people being dominated by diseases, and as long as we turn to him, he will heal us. But today, when we see the brothers and sisters of the church being dominated, struggling in diseases, do we think about one thing, what would Jesus do? Jesus would heal them because they are God's flock.

Later, healing and deliverance became a very important work of our church. It is very hard for people to be dominated by the devil. If we do not release them in this situation, and find many reasons to prove that not releasing them is God's will, then many people will easily understand God as a cruel God.

In this generation, many churches promote worship and praise. What is the purpose of worship and praise? Worship and praise is for pastoring God's flock, and pastoring is not for worship and praise. So, many concepts in the church need to be adjusted, and our brothers and sisters really need to ponder and think about it.

Once, I was taken to a businessman's clubhouse, where there were about a hundred Christian pastors. I went there hoping to solve his problems. Why was I taken there? Because I performed miracles wherever I went. One day, the boss of a software company personally saw me praying with a child who had a sprained foot and his mother for more than ten minutes and being healed. At that time, the ankle was still blue, but he was already able to jump around.

At that time, I went to his software company for a meeting. During the meeting, the child's mother called for help. The customer service of our church did not respond, and I couldn't ignore it, so I stopped the meeting first and started to serve. They also watched me serve without holding a meeting, and after seeing me pray for the child, the businessman took my hand and said, You are the pastor I've been looking for! Later, he bought a plane ticket to serve another businessman.

When I arrived at the other businessman's place, there were more than a hundred pastors in his clubhouse giving worship training, but what pleased me was that the businessman told me that he had received many pastors, and I was the only pastor who cared about his problems. Many pastors think very complicatedly when they meet rich people, but I only care about people's problems.

That night, he said that a sister in the worship and praise training session had a terrible stomachache. I said, Then you can call her. I'll pray with her for a while and she'll be fine. As a result, they called and said she had been sent to the hospital. Then I thought, if Jesus were there, what would he do? Jesus would definitely heal her. In fact, it's easy to get healed from a stomachache. In fact, this businessman's sister also had stomach cramps and often called us at night. Our pastors served very diligently.

Therefore, in the past few years, many brothers and sisters who have participated in the ministry have developed the habit of staying up late. Why do they stay up late? In fact, many problems are closely related to the spirits of the underworld and death. Everyone must know that diseases are closely related to the power of the underworld. The power of the underworld is very rampant at night. If you are sick, you are usually very uncomfortable in the second half of the night.

Once, a sister's father was dying. He couldn't get out of bed during the day and had to be turned over with great effort, but at two o'clock in the night, he sat up and started talking nonsense. The sister called me, and I prayed with her father on the phone. As soon as I prayed, he went back to bed and went back to sleep, but he still couldn't get up the next day and didn't know what was happening. In fact, people are often in a very spiritual state before they die.

Today, these things are very common pastoring work, but what is the situation of many pastors today? Everyone has a church, and you can judge for yourself. I attach great importance to the illness of brothers and sisters, because that is an opportunity for the church to release God's power, to release brothers and sisters from the power of the underworld. Where we cast out demons by the Spirit of God, the kingdom of God has come, which is closely related to the kingdom of God.

The Good Shepherd Lays Down His Life for the Sheep

So, I feel very happy to cast out demons a lot. This kind of thing often happens at night. A church without pastoring basically doesn't do these things. What exactly is feeding God's sheep and feeding God's lambs? In fact, it is feeding the word of God. When pastoring God's sheep, if the sheep are taken away by wolves, the wolves must be driven away and the sheep must be rescued. The Good Shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. We must weep with those who weep and rejoice with those who rejoice, which is a connection of love.

In the environment I am in today, I am actually very tired. Once, I was invited to participate in a meeting, and they invited me to speak on the stage. I like to talk about the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. If you love Jesus, you should pastor God's flock. When I said this, I offended many pastors. As a result, they waited for me to come down from the stage and pulled me aside and said, You can't say that. Are you the only one who can do it? This is not about whether I can do it or whether others can do it, this is the word of God.

Many times, I may not be doing it perfectly, but I am working hard to implement it. So today, the church is a pastoring church. I attach great importance to pastoring. I told the brothers and sisters in our church who are involved in the ministry, Our customer service, when brothers and sisters call us when they are in need, we really have to surpass the customer service of those multinational companies. In fact, customer service is not common in churches.

Healing and Deliverance are Basic Works of the Church

Healing and deliverance is a very important part of church pastoring. I think this is an example set for us by Jesus, which is the way Jesus pastured. For example, Peter's mother was sick, and Jesus touched her and she was healed. What Jesus did was probably like this.

Many times, we see brothers and sisters living under the control of diseases, especially in an environment like Singapore. What do I often see? A group of text messages saying, Pastor so-and-so, Brother so-and-so, Sister so-and-so is praying for you. They euphemistically call it intercession. As for whether the prayer is effective, whether they get healed or not, it is not within their scope of consideration at all. Over time, everyone thinks this is normal. But I don't think it is normal. It's probably just a superficial effort. If we are serious, can't we desperately pray with this brother or sister and kill the demon? They don't want to be serious and find many excuses.

When I first returned to Singapore, a friend invited me to dinner. It happened to be a Sunday. He said that their church's pastor had just taken a large group of people to see how a Korean pastor did healing and deliverance. After watching, when they came back that Sunday, their pastor preached a sermon called: If God doesn't heal you, do you still believe? In fact, looking back, I have never seen such words in the Bible. What have I seen? By Jesus' stripes we are healed.

On the same day, a couple came, and the sister had severe urethritis. She had to go to the bathroom every short period of time. Because of this reason, she ran to my residence to chat with me. I explained these spiritual truths to her, and a wonderful thing happened. She sat with me for almost 5 hours, and when she got up to leave, she said, It's really amazing in your place. My urethritis usually can't last this long. I have to go to the bathroom every little while, but during the process here, there were no such problems.

Today we must build people's faith in God. God is the God who heals us. This is the word of the Bible. We must never always think, I want to be a millionaire, please help me God. These things may not be in accordance with the Bible. In the next week or two, I will continue to serve this sister until she is completely healed. She has had urethritis for many years.

Serving With Great Effort

There are many more examples I would like to give. Why don't many churches dare to promote healing and deliverance? Because healing and deliverance requires paying a price. In our church, I have set an example. If this matter falls into my hands, then I am serious. Unless one day the person being served says, Get out of here. I will obediently get out of here. If he doesn't let me get out of here, no matter how busy I am, I will always follow up until this person is released. This is the pastoring of the church.

I can tell you one thing, my phone is on 24 hours a day. But as the church gradually increases in numbers, even tens of thousands, there is only one way, which is to train more people like me to get up to serve. Once, I was invited to serve. On that day, I went to visit a family. The child in this family had meningitis. His arms were severely twisted and he was mentally retarded. I prayed for the child, and we prayed until 12:30 in the middle of the night. I and my co-workers only had a cup of instant noodles to eat.

Because I was invited, I should have returned to the pastor who invited me. I called him to tell him that I could not return, but I could not get through. The next day I asked, and it turned out that he turned off his phone at 10 pm every night. I was shocked: I can't find you, so can your sheep find you?

Why is my phone on 24 hours a day? Because things often happen at night! This is all about pastoring God's flock! The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. I am not boasting, I really want to convey a message: Do you love Jesus? If you love Jesus, go pastor God's flock! Pastoring God's flock, if a sheep gets sick, can you leave it alone? This is confusing. Why turn off the phone?

Once, my co-workers and I went abroad to attend a special meeting, and the American senior pastor was invited. Someone wrote a note to the pastor and asked the pastor what their hobbies were. One pastor said he liked sports cars, and another pastor said he liked hunting, and they conveyed a message to the people in the church: Monday is their day of rest, and no one can disturb them. I was surprised, how did it become like this? When did you see the Apostle Paul take Monday as his day of rest? No, Paul went to build tents on Monday, and he had to come back to serve. Did Jacob rest when he was grazing sheep at his uncle Laban's house? No, he didn't rest for 20 years. This pastor said on the stage that his co-worker called him, and he severely criticized this co-worker. He said, Do you know today is my day of rest?

Rest and repose are both rest in English, but our Chinese translation is particularly good. Rest cannot solve the problem, repose can solve the problem. My co-worker asked me what my hobby was, and I said, I love to serve. Serving God is the best thing! Since we have identified God, we will serve our God with our lives! The brothers and sisters among us are really blessed. You are well pastored among us!

Our current concept of pastoring is very weak. Some churches' concept of pastoring is just to chat and talk, without any real effect. If every church rises up and earnestly implements healing and deliverance and pays the price, there will be endless needs to serve in this generation. To this day, I am still suffering from one thing, how to train more people to get up to serve, how to train more people to be willing to lay down their lives for Jesus, and to serve well with a heart of love for God.

I think it is easy to introduce a doctor to someone today, but that is not pastoring. I am not against people seeing a doctor. If you choose to see a doctor, then you should go to see a doctor. This is your choice. This generation lacks the concept of pastoring. What exactly is pastoring? The first way to pastor is to release the sheep from bondage, and then feed the sheep fully, feed them fat, lead them to streams of water and green grass, so that they can thrive, grow into adulthood, and have the stature of Jesus Christ.

Why do some churches not dare to do healing and deliverance? It costs! I saw some brothers and sisters being dominated by the devil. I served them and spent a full three months before they were released, which was a heavy price.

There is also a brother who is a Singaporean, and his church does a good job of healing and deliverance. He always came to me. I asked him why. It turned out that his church only has healing and deliverance on Tuesdays. He said that he can always find me and I always serve him! I was wondering why it's only on Tuesdays? Hospitals still have an emergency room! The church has become like this. It's very strange. This is very surprising!

There is a Singaporean couple, one of the sisters has severe depression and raises three children, one of whom has Down syndrome. They are wage earners and are very tired! The husband lost his job in order to take care of the family and they live on donations from charities. They have found many churches that can't solve their problems. They found me here. We prayed with her and she vomited several kilograms of sticky sputum.

After we served them for two months, they returned to their original church. After a while, they came to me again. I prayed with them again, and they got better again. I asked them why they didn't find their own church. They said, Our church only has healing and deliverance once a month. I was very moved when I heard that: healing and deliverance once a month, and it still requires the recommendation of the group leader. Then all the people who come in from the street to find Jesus are released!

Eliminating the Bad Habits of Catering to the Flesh

Healing and deliverance often mask a severe problem of catering to the flesh. That is, why do people attract demons? Because they have fleshy habits. If you ask me, In the Bible, after those people were healed by Jesus, were the roots removed? I tell you, The roots were not removed; the root is their catering to their own flesh. Did the illness relapse later? I don't have biblical evidence, but I can guarantee that it will relapse. Why? Because people got sick before because they lived under a curse, and then they returned to the curse. How can it not relapse? The Bible does not explore the issue of removing roots at all. If you want to find a fundamental solution, there is only one sentence: Carefully observe and follow the words of God.

Failure to carefully observe and follow will surely be cursed. As a pastor, if you read the Old Testament Scriptures, you will often lament that there are no good shepherds. They slaughter the sheep, eat them, and stew them, which is a crucial matter. Therefore, pastors are deeply cursed. I am not only speaking to our brothers and sisters, but also to these online friends. If you hear this, go back and examine the Scriptures. Pastors are deeply cursed by God.

If you ask me why the proportion of cancer among full-time workers in the entire church is so high, it is simple: because they do not shepherd God's flock according to God's will. Shepherding God's flock according to God's will and delivering people from demons requires us to do one more thing: deal with the bad habits of catering to the flesh.

The root of disease lies in people going their own way. The Holy Spirit and the desires of the flesh compete with each other. Those who follow the desires of the flesh will reap corruption, and those who follow the Holy Spirit will reap eternal life. How can one not get sick if their spirit is not prosperous? Start pondering what I am saying today. It is crucial to deal with being carnal.

I once went to a place, originally to see the property, and met the pastor of that church. He was making dumplings for the congregation. On the day I went, something sad happened. One of the members scolded the pastor and his wife. Why? Because they wanted dumplings with fish filling, but they were filled with pork. As a result, the pastor and his wife were talking to me while crying. Is this called shepherding? This is called catering to the flesh. Using methods that cater to the flesh to shepherd God's flock, when the sheep are already catering to the flesh, and the shepherd caters to the flesh even more, can they avoid incurring sin?

If it were me, like when I was a child, if I said, Mom, I want to eat fried dough twists, my mom would pinch my cheek with two fingers, which hurt a lot. That was the fried dough twist. Actually, after the boy grew up, he was quite obedient and filial.

Among us, if you are a mother who caters to the flesh, I guess you will probably incur sin when you are old. Catering to the flesh corrupts people. The church cannot do this. He cooks dumplings for them to eat. I used to prepare roasted chicken and braised beef, but later I realized that it was not the way to build a church. Those attracted by this method are all foodies. Today, we attract those who have Mingding Destiny, to build God's victorious church with me, to release the captives, to manifest God's glory, and to be a blessing to this generation.

I was thinking, How can a pastor who caters to the flesh shepherd a group of sheep who cater to the flesh and achieve victory? How can they solve problems? The more problems they solve, the more problems arise. Moreover, it is quite common for pastors who cater to the flesh to shepherd members who cater to the flesh. One year, a pastor saw that my website was well-built, so he came to me and asked if I could help him build a website. I said, Your church is ten times bigger than mine. We are just a small group. Why don't you find members of your church to help you build the website? He said, They don't want to do it! Then why should I do it for you?

Later, one of our sisters said to me, Your requirements here are relatively high. Because at that time, I was dealing with her flesh quite harshly. If you don't deal with her, can she be delivered? She had persecutory delusions, phobias, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. If you don't deal with her flesh, she is released and then comes back, and then is released again, when will it end? I served her for a full eight years.

I experienced a lot of grace in her life. She had athlete's foot, so I held her stinky feet and prayed, and her feet were healed. Her obsessive-compulsive disorder was healed with prayer, and her delusions were also healed with prayer. I paid a great price to serve her, and then I pushed her to shepherd. She said, I can't serve like you do. I want to go to bed early and go to work the next day. When I served her, I served until four o'clock. Who cared? I had to get up at seven or eight o'clock to go to work. As a result, she said, I can't be like you. One day, she discussed with me about going to another church, the one that asked me to build their website. I said, If you go, don't come back. I said this a bit harshly. What do you think this is? Come and go as you please? This is God's army, a place to fight spiritual battles. It is possible to fight.

After a while, she asked me to have tea. I asked her, How are you doing? She said, Great. I said, of course, it's great. A pastor who caters to the flesh serving sheep who cater to the flesh is a perfect match. I am being a bit blunt, but it is beneficial to you. I don't hold back anything. I do this because I hope to shepherd God's flock.

It is very important to break through the flesh in shepherding. If the church does not break through people's flesh, no one will build the website. There are many such things. In our church, everyone works hard to transcribe recordings into text. One of my good friends does ministry and pays people to transcribe. Is this the same? I ask you to transcribe recordings into text to bless you, not to exploit you, because it deals with people's flesh. Sometimes, we are a bit strict in managing the text ministry. Shorthand must be completed within the specified time. If you don't do well, we won't include you.

Our church has a way of dealing with people's flesh. Shepherding must involve eating the words of God. Later, I discovered that those who transcribe recordings into text listen to my sermons over and over again, which is very edifying for them and lays a good foundation. The work of transcribing recordings into text is almost implemented by every brother and sister to make you understand thoroughly and not play games. Otherwise, I preach once, and you listen once, and it goes in one ear and out the other, which is useless.

Reading God's Word, Feeding God's Flock

This is the first step in healing and deliverance. The second is to break through the flesh. We have a series of methods to deal with the flesh. We will talk about dealing with the flesh here. The third is to read God's word, feed God's flock, and allow God's sheep to be fed. Do you know how important this is? Generally speaking, not many churches lead the entire congregation in Bible study. We study chapter by chapter. The Bible study recordings on our website are enough for you to listen to for a long time. We provide the recordings on the website for free, and the number of clicks is very high. We cast our bread upon the waters, feeding God's flock.

Sometimes when there is a small glitch on our website, the WeChat and phone of our little assistant will explode. One person said, When will your website be up? We need it to lead Bible study. This guy uses it without paying, but it doesn't matter, I am willing to bless him. However, you can use some things on my website to feed your sheep, but when it comes to our pastors paying the price, can you do it? Paying the price is very important. If you can't pay the price and only have lip service, and you don't believe it yourself and don't implement it, then what will your people feel after listening to it?

Therefore, I put healing and deliverance in the first place in shepherding, which also reflects your concern for the sheep. If your sheep have problems, such as back pain, leg pain, or headache, can you feel their pain? Do you want to release them from their illnesses? That's why we put a lot of effort into healing and deliverance.

Among the churches I know, our church is first-class in healing and deliverance. Our church's brothers and sisters are doing better than many church workers because we preach the word of God. I am talking about my personal experiences, and I am not using others to elevate myself. I just want to exalt Jesus, and the Lord Jesus' will must be satisfied. If a thousand or ten thousand pastors like me arise in the world, they will not be able to serve completely. I think God has chosen me to serve His people, God's flock, so I will do it according to His will.

We have a series of logical systems for examining the Scriptures, including what we were talking about a few days ago. I will say it again today: The purpose of examining the Scriptures is to enable people to implement them. For example, many people suffer from depression, which is a concrete manifestation of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and catering to the flesh. If you deal with the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and catering to the flesh, depression will be cured. We have many tricks and solutions.

Examining the Scriptures is for implementation. We must act on the words of God after reading them. We divide books into two categories: The first category is called classics. The Bible is a classic that highly summarizes spiritual laws and highly condenses God's will. Whether we preach, study the Bible, or teach courses, we need to implement the words of God. Implementation is called treatise. The Bible is the classic.

Reading the Bible is for implementation. In fact, I am teaching everyone in order to implement it. If you are shepherded among us, you will find that we follow you closely, keeping an eye on you to write notes and attend meetings every day. Someone asked me, Did you arrange a bunch of shills who can write notes so quickly? That's how we train people, listening and taking notes at the same time. After the lecture, the notes are also completed. If you only listen and don't take notes, you will forget everything in the end. If you take notes, you may still remember something; if you don't take notes, you won't remember anything in the end.

Shepherding Is Following Up on a Person's Implementation

Our church has a series of logical systems for Bible study: First, it is implementation. Shepherding is following up on a person's implementation. For example, one sister has a bad temper. She has had a small temper since she was a child and had the spirit of a little fire dragon on her. After believing in the Lord, although her fiery temper has improved a lot, the root has not been removed, not released, and her fiery temper has not been changed because she has not implemented the word of God enough.

Another sister retreats whenever she encounters problems. Once I target her, I will follow up to the end. Some brothers and sisters are not our coworkers, and some brothers and sisters have a little blessing, and I participate in the ministry directly. There are also those who directly send me messages on WeChat. My WeChat often explodes. Sorry, sometimes I miss them. If brothers and sisters have problems, find your own pastor. I really can't take care of so many people alone.

For the brothers and sisters I directly serve, I deal with their flesh to the fullest, specifically dealing with their implementation.
This sister retreats whenever she encounters problems. She has been like this from elementary school, junior high school, high school, all the way to college. Now that she is working, she has the same problem. She still retreats whenever she encounters problems.

But today God is really gracious to me. I basically don't retreat when I encounter problems. That's why we have such good results in healing and deliverance. No matter what kind of difficulties I encounter, I will not retreat. Some healing and deliverance takes three months, some takes half a year, and some takes a year. Shepherding is even more so. Therefore, our brothers and sisters are gradually being incorporated into the shepherding system.

If you are in the group and have not yet entered our shepherding system, you can contact the little assistant and say, I really want to be shepherded. If you want to be shepherded, we will shepherd you. We don't just grab someone off the street and shepherd them. We don't do that. But if we shepherd you, there is a condition: you will definitely grow, but growth requires paying a price.

We will absolutely not show mercy when dealing with the bad habits on your body. Some brothers and sisters have not accomplished anything from childhood to their twenties, thirties, or forties. They have all gone through life in a daze. Can they have faith? Even if they have faith, it is false. It doesn't matter. We can build your faith. We will walk with you for a while.

Today, we are called to do this: to shape all the brothers and sisters who love the Lord and believe in the Lord, to become people who serve this generation, people who shepherd God's flock, and people who feed God's lambs.

Even though a newborn baby only weighs seven or eight pounds, it takes a lot of people to care for it, dealing with its pooping, peeing, and feeding. It is terrible to only give birth to children and not raise them. If a person loves Jesus, they will listen to what Jesus says: Feed my sheep. Jesus didn't say anything else. God knows those who love him. God has prepared for those who love him things that no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has conceived. Because those who love Him will surely shepherd God's flock, and God will open a rich path for those who love Him.

Shepherding Is Working with God

Why shepherd? Because shepherding is working with God. If we live in the world without seeing through the matter of living, we will live for ourselves. If we see through it, we will live for God, love God to the point of madness, and then we will definitely pay a heavy price to shepherd God's flock.

If we shepherd God's flock, can we not receive God's gifts? The spiritual gifts that God gives you are for shepherding God's flock. Therefore, I am against people who are idle and hide in a small room to pray for visions, gifts, and closeness to God. It's not that you have gifts first, but that you have a heart to serve first, and then gifts will be given to you.

Why does God distribute gifts to each person as he wills? Because God gives gifts according to people's desires. If people don't desire, what can they wait for by just waiting? To die? Today, start to know that loving God means shepherding God's flock, and your life will be very wonderful. If you want to live a wonderful life, walk with God. God will surely help you with what you say and what you do.

And Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground. (1 Samuel 3:19)

So starting today, I encourage our brothers and sisters, if you want to live out God-like splendor and God-like glory in your life, start shepherding God's flock. We will have a series of trainings to train you how to shepherd, which is a personalized training. Today, we will talk about this. Next time, we will talk specifically about how to shepherd.

Conclusion

When you listen to me, you will find that I usually have a relatively clear framework, that is, I will talk about what is shepherding, why do shepherding, how to do shepherding, and how to use specific strategies in shepherding. Shepherding is a big topic. Today, let's talk about how to do shepherding and why do shepherding.

May God bless everyone. In the days to come, carefully ponder what I have said. If you go to church again, you will see clearly: this church has shepherding, that church does not have shepherding, my church is like this, other people's church is like that. Today, we have explored what shepherding as mentioned in the Bible should look like. If the fundamental is reversed, then it is troublesome.

There are many stories in this regard. Once, I went to a place to attend a meeting. I didn't want to speak, but they insisted that I speak on stage, so I talked about loving the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, so as to shepherd God's flock well. It would have been better if I hadn't talked about this topic. Once I did, all the pastors listening below took their seats, which was very uncomfortable. Because their members were also there, when they heard what I said, they realized: Oh no, my pastor is not shepherding. That was uncomfortable. But I can't not talk about shepherding!

So brothers and sisters, if you are from another church today, then I don't really want you to become a member of my church, and I don't really need that. But I hope that all the churches on earth can enter into God's will, love the Lord our God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and well shepherd the flock that God has entrusted to them. This is truly a satisfying thing! Our God will also be comforted in heaven!

May God bless you all!
