Introduction
Good morning. This week, we continue with the fifth part of the "Way of Eternal Life" series: "That everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life." Last chapter, "The Attitude to Obtain Eternal Life" mentioned: If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off; if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out; if your head causes you to stumble, cut it off. After hearing this, can you understand it?
Actually, it is not about literally cutting them off, but about having the resolve to sever ties to prevent stumbling. My hand should not cause me to stumble, nor should my foot, my eye, or my mind.
But I tell you, the reason a person stumbles is because of unbelief. This person says he believes, but do you truly believe? Actually not. A test of faith will reveal whether it is genuine or not. Many people's faith is strange.
I have a good friend who is a pastor. He also preaches healing and deliverance, being filled with the Holy Spirit, and speaking in tongues. But when it comes to the critical moment, he does not believe in God; he believes in the hospital. That is truly perverse. There was a very large Christian gathering, and as a result, he contracted COVID-19. At that time, did you still believe in the healing and deliverance you preached? Did you still believe that Jesus Christ could heal you? In the end, he still did not believe, because he went to the hospital.
After going to the hospital, he was intubated in about a week. After about ten days, he knew nothing, was unconscious, and remained intubated for four months. Why? Because he did not want to die, he was unwilling to die, wasn't he? In my words, perhaps not much of that person was left; it was just a body. Why was there still breath? If you don't remove the tube, there will always be some air, but it is just the air from the tube. It was very agonizing and difficult.
If a person truly believes, why go anywhere else? Jesus is the best doctor. Why do we go to doctors? Later, he kept changing hospitals, tossing and turning, and finally died. I only went to see him after he died because I couldn't enter while he was alive; he was in the intensive care unit.
Later, I saw him lying in the coffin, his skin chocolate-colored. I asked his wife, "Why is your husband's skin chocolate-colored?" Anyone with some medical knowledge would know that it was due to medication. She said, "Later, when he urinated, it was all salt."
I was thinking, we both contracted the same disease, COVID-19. Mine was even more severe; mine was Delta, and his virus was Omicron. It is said that Omicron is not as severe, but in the end, he died.
When I contracted COVID-19, I would rather die than go to the hospital. Why would I go there? I slowly recovered at home, self-isolating. One reason was that I knew my life was in the hands of Jesus Christ.
Why did He let me contract this virus? Because there were still many knots and much garbage in my mind to be removed. During the time I had COVID-19, I repented every day. I didn't think I had done everything right. Brothers and sisters, you must learn this logic. Don't think you are the embodiment of truth. We must know that this is not right yet, that is not right yet, and many places need to be changed.
My Lord Jesus is the Lord Jesus who gives me eternal life, that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life. But is your belief truly belief or unbelief? Those who do not believe are condemned already, and then what? The wrath of God remains on them. Thank God, God has mercy on me.
Originally, I thought about leaving this world. Staying too long is meaningless. Why is this idea good? This idea makes people feel no pressure. I don't want to struggle to die. I have seen people struggle to die, their eyes wide open, very unwilling. But even if they are unwilling, they must die. So once a person wants to live, he is ruined. Living in the flesh is carnal, which is the most tragic thing in the world.
No matter what happens, I am very calm. I thank God. It was very difficult for about twenty days, but in the end, I survived. The disease in my body seemed to be gone. I prayed and repented every day, and finally, the disease was cured. By the third day, many of the after-effects of COVID-19 were basically gone. I was completely back to normal, working vigorously, and continuing with projects.
I feel that the logic of not wanting to live too much is good. I am already in eternal life. Living in the flesh is not what I want, but God wants me to live in the flesh, to live in this world. Actually, I would rather depart and be with the Lord, which is far better. I am not deceiving you; what would I gain from deceiving you?
If I had made the same choice as my old friend, going to the hospital, being intubated, and turning chocolate-colored, unable to eat, just the color resembling chocolate... To depart and be with the Lord is far better. I believe there is a time to be born and a time to die. This has become a source of boasting for me. If you desperately want to live, it is a tragedy.
The greatest tragedy in this world is wanting to live but still having to die, dying helplessly, living boringly, isn't it? Not knowing what eternal life is, nor believing in eternal life. What is the meaning of life? There is no meaning.
Some time ago, we ministered to a patient with bowel obstruction, ovarian cancer with bowel obstruction, living very earnestly. We took over ministering to him, praying for him every day. It was not without effect; it was effective. Every time he was in pain, the prayer would alleviate it, but he still believed in doctors. After praying for a while, I asked, "Where are you? Aren't you in your hometown?" He said, "No, we have come to another place. There is a place for integrated Chinese and Western medicine treatment here." As soon as I heard that, I knew he still wanted to desperately live.
From the first day I ministered to him, I encouraged him not to want to live, because wanting to live will prevent you from living, but not wanting to live will make you live. Can you stop him? You can't stop him from seeking good doctors, can you? I felt in my heart, how can I minister to him? How can I minister to him? If he doesn't spend all his money, will he be willing? Can money save lives? Money cannot save.
Later, neither Chinese nor Western medicine could treat him, and it became more and more serious. How can that be treated? That is a ghost! If a person's logical system is not changed, how much suffering will he endure? In the end, he returned to the hospital in his hometown. Why does he love living so much?
Recently, another person with colon cancer came. As soon as I heard that he particularly wanted to live, my head buzzed! Why do people want to live? Do they think healing and deliverance are to make them live? But healing and deliverance are not to make them live, but to manifest the glory of God, to let people see the glory of God, that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life! But people's hope is in this life, hoping to live!
Actually, I feel very emotional in my heart. I subtly say that there are many ghosts in the hospital! But he still insists on staying in the hospital, feeling that staying in the hospital can prolong his life by a few days. But what is the meaning of living another year? What is the meaning of living another ten years? There is no meaning! What is the meaning of living another hundred years? I tell you, if a person does not have eternal life and only hopes to live in the flesh, what else can he experience besides the wrath of God?
After arriving at the hospital, we desperately prayed with him, but the pain could not be stopped. In the past few years, we have never had anyone whose pain could not be stopped. Even the pain of unbelievers can be stopped. As soon as we pray, the pain stops, but his pain could not be stopped! Later, I tell you, my ministry changed.
To enable him to no longer struggle to live. If he still struggles to live, his eyes will be wide open, leaving a deep shadow on his family before he dies, won't he? I enlightened his family to see through life and death, that living has become meaningless. If he had seen through it earlier, why would he have suffered so much?
Brothers and sisters, I urge you again, don't desperately struggle to live. Wanting to live very much is a tragedy. Recently, another person with colon cancer came, in his seventies, also wanting to live, hoping to be healed. I can tell everyone that Deuteronomy 28 describes long and lingering illnesses, severe and prolonged diseases, which are all curses, the wrath of God on people.
Why do people get these? Because people's hearts are on the earth, people's hearts are on the earth, taking these trivial matters on earth more seriously than anything else. So the wrath of God remains on them. If people truly believe in eternal life, would they still care so much about the flesh? People live, live, and when they die, it's all over, so they desperately want to live one more day. That's the logic. If we are in eternal life, would we still care so much about living?
The flesh is meaningless. Man lives by the spirit, and my spirit must return to God. Why is such a simple logic so difficult? I feel very emotional in my heart, hoping that everyone can be blown by the wind of the Holy Spirit, and the thoughts inside will be changed to God's thoughts, changed to the concept of eternal life, and no longer be about the trivial matters of this life. What do people see through? See through life and death. When you see through it, when you look at it with God's eyes, a lifetime is all vanity.
The most tragic thing in this world is wanting to live but still having to die, dying helplessly, living boringly, not knowing eternal life, nor believing in eternal life. I give you another new concept: healing and deliverance are not to prolong your life, healing and deliverance are to let you know the power of God, to let you know that Jesus Christ has opened up a way of eternal life for us.
Not to live to one hundred and fifty years old, nor to live to one thousand five hundred years old, nor to fifteen thousand years old. Then you would become the emperor of ten thousand years. The emperor didn't even get this title, and you would become the emperor of ten thousand years. Believe in Him and have eternal life, because He can release us from death. Do you understand?
Charismatic churches spend all day speaking in tongues, healing and delivering, the deaf hearing, the blind seeing, the lame walking. After doing it for many years, they exalt healing and deliverance, but they neglect one thing: the way of eternal life. What do they believe in?
In the end, the knot in their minds is not removed. What did Jesus Christ come into this world to do? He was lifted up, hung on the cross, that everyone who believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. You see the miracles of Jesus Christ, and you ask for miracles? You see Jesus Christ feeding five thousand people with five loaves and two fish, and feeding four thousand people with seven loaves. It is not a matter of proportion; it is a miracle. Do you ask for bread? Do you seek to be filled with bread? Isn't that a tragedy?
You must see that Jesus Christ did these things in order to come into this world to die for us on the cross, that we should not perish but have eternal life. Why must you walk the path of destruction? He testified that Jesus Christ came from heaven, testified that He is our Lord and Savior, testified that eternal life is real. We have finally obtained the hope of eternal life. Why do we still care about living in the flesh? Although the body is decaying day by day, the heart is renewed day by day. This is the truth.
What do we believe in Jesus? We believe that Jesus Christ came from heaven, believe that Jesus Christ died for us, resurrected for us, ascended to heaven for us, and opened up a way of eternal life for us. Believe that the flesh is of no benefit, it is the Spirit that gives life. Believe that our inner logic, the earthly logical system, the worldly logical system, is renewed by the Holy Spirit, and like Jesus, becomes heavenly, spiritual, and pleasing to God, living like Jesus.
This is what we believe in. We don't believe in, "I have a headache, pray for me," or "My butt hurts, pray for me." This is not the key. The key is the way of eternal life. How much suffering must you endure to remove the knots in your mind? What I am telling you is that I hope you can renew the logical system in your mind while you are alive.
When I was leading people in prayer, someone saw that someone else's $300,000 in stocks had turned into $800,000, and their heart was moved, and they also went to invest in stocks. Isn't that all the logic of this life? After investing, they became dizzy. Someone else made $800,000, can you turn your $800,000 into $300,000? It makes you dizzy. What is the meaning of life?
I often feel an inexplicable sadness in my heart. There was a person who even opened an investment company himself, with hundreds of millions in his hands, worth billions, opened an investment company, and he was a professional investor, professionally engaged in this stuff.
He had cancer, about the same age as me. I tell you, cancer is really a punishment, it's really suffering, it's not ordinary suffering. Have you seen the suffering of cancer? It's really suffering, a long and lingering illness, a severe and prolonged disease, that's what it is. Can money save him? No. The flesh is of no benefit.
Don't struggle to live, struggle to squeeze into eternal life. The way into eternal life, the door is narrow, you have to squeeze in. I really feel emotional, if people can see through money, they are really amazing. How did he get cancer? Because he lost money in the stock market, lost money and was upset, the more he lost, the more upset he was, couldn't sleep, couldn't eat well, and later, after an examination, he had cancer. Isn't money a corruption?
Scripture
I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man. Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. (John 3:12-18)
Prayer
Lord Jesus, let the wind of the Holy Spirit blow through us, and in the Holy Spirit, regenerate us, so that the foundation of our thoughts and intentions may be established upon the truth of Jesus Christ. Lord Jesus, we come before You to seek eternal life. Lord Jesus, let us be renewed within by the Holy Spirit. Lord Jesus, we thank You for dying for us and dying on the cross. As You are lifted up, draw all people to Yourself. We are drawn to Your presence because of the salvation You have accomplished for us.
Lord, let all who trust in You have eternal life. Give us a resolve to despise living for the flesh, but to live in the Spirit. Lord, reveal to us heavenly things, that we may begin to believe in You, that we may know what true belief is. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Scripture Background
The background of this passage involves a very interesting figure, a very capable man named Nicodemus. This Nicodemus was remarkable; he knew the Bible inside and out from a young age, reciting it fluently. As a result, he knew that Jesus had performed a miracle, turning water into wine. In the second chapter of John, Jesus turned water into wine at the wedding in Cana.
I suspect he attended the wedding. After attending the wedding and witnessing the miracle performed by Jesus, he thought, "If this man were not from God, how could he perform such miracles? This man must be from God; without God's presence, no one could do what he does." This greatly troubled Nicodemus; how could water turn into wine?
This Nicodemus is a fascinating character. He seemed to have a clear understanding of life, knowing that living eventually leads to death, and he sought an eternal covenant with God. He was well-versed in the Bible. He even led people in studying Genesis, this Pharisee Nicodemus, leading them to Abraham.
When Nicodemus spoke of the death of Abraham's brother, I imagine he would say that Abraham spent a great deal of money on his brother, finding good doctors, saying, "I'll give you whatever it takes, just heal my brother." But Abraham's brother died, and Nicodemus would then say that Abraham sought God, feeling that life was meaningless.
Nicodemus would tell people about Genesis every day, studying Genesis. Life is meaningless, so he sought God. God revealed to him his purpose in life, that all peoples on earth would be blessed through him. So God would make his name great, as in Genesis 12:1-3. God would make his name great, and God would make his descendants a great nation. Those who bless him, God would bless; those who curse him, God would curse. Remarkable!
Abraham was actually seeking eternal life, so when Nicodemus spoke of this, we should also seek eternal life, but where is the path to eternal life? We, the descendants of Abraham, were first wiped out by the Assyrian Empire, then by the Babylonian Empire. Later, the Persian Empire allowed them to return and rebuild the temple, but they did not build it well, and the temple remained unfinished.
Four hundred years passed, from Malachi to Nicodemus, four hundred years without hearing the voice of God, very perplexing. Then Jesus came, and Jesus could turn water into wine. Who is this man? He is from God. My goodness, after four hundred years, another man has come from God, Jesus! I will go see him at night, quietly, lest my position be lost if it becomes known.
But he was troubled within, longing for the prophet from God. He said, "Jesus, Rabbi, I know that You are a teacher who has come from God. No one could perform the signs You do if God were not with him. We Pharisees cannot do it."
Jesus saw that there was indeed someone seeking, a Pharisee. You know, Pharisees wear black robes and black hats. Nicodemus was confused, and being confused, he was perplexed. But Jesus' answer directly hit the mark.
What did Jesus say? "Unless someone is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." Like you Pharisees, even though you know the Bible inside and out, without being born again, your inner logic is still of this world. Jesus was right.
Jesus said that unless someone is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus immediately revealed his worldly logic. "Surely we don't have to go back into our mother's womb to be born again?" His idea of being born again was returning to his mother's womb. "I have a full beard and white hair. My mother is gone; how can I go back?"
His logical system was incorrect; how could he not be perplexed? Many of our brothers and sisters still have this confusion. Jesus said, "Unless someone is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God." If you are not born again, you cannot see the kingdom of God; if you are not born of water and the Spirit, you cannot enter the kingdom of God. What is born of the flesh is flesh, but what is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Suddenly, there are two foundations. One foundation is to return to the mother's womb to be born again. If you return to your mother's womb, you don't know what will come out, right? When the Assyrian Empire conquered Israel, you ate my son, and I ate your son. Can that be rebirth? That is living in the flesh.
Jesus said, "Do not be perplexed; do not think it strange. Do not be confused." Seeing Nicodemus looking troubled, unable to understand, Jesus said, "Do not be perplexed. The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit."
This passage is well-spoken. When the wind blows, the thoughts in the mind change, rebirth; the logical system changes, rebirth, right? The logical system, the root of logic, changes, rebirth. Actually, changing the logical system is easy; from unbelief to belief is just a moment, right? Believing is both difficult and not difficult, both simple and hard. If you believe, it is very simple, right?
When the wind of the Holy Spirit blows, I believe in eternal life; when the wind of the Holy Spirit blows, I still live in the original carnal logical system, I still believe in physical check-ups, I still believe in hospitals, just believing in those useless things. I am alive, what is eternal life? I still have to wait for dinner tonight.
Look at this person's logic. So what is born of the Spirit is spirit, and what is born of the flesh is flesh. When the Spirit of God blows, his spirit awakens, and from then on, he sees things from a spiritual perspective. If one is not born of the Spirit, he is still carnal and sees problems from the flesh.
The change in thoughts and intentions, if you ask me how it changes, I don't know, I can't give too many reasons. If you ask me why I believe, I just want to believe. We think that when the Holy Spirit blows, the hairs stand up, goosebumps appear, and then we are reborn. That's nonsense; the thoughts and intentions haven't changed.
Many people, when interpreting this passage, feel that there must be some feeling, they think feeling is important. Actually, feeling is not important at all; the logical system in the thoughts and intentions is most important. Some people experience a typhoon, not a gentle breeze, but a typhoon that blows away all the hair, yet the thoughts and intentions don't change at all. I think even if his head were blown off, he wouldn't change, because he is a carnal person. A typhoon can't change him; what can I change? I might as well give up.
The wind of the Holy Spirit is the breath that comes from God's mouth. Some people think that Nicodemus saw God's miracle, turning water into wine, a rather trivial thing, but Nicodemus began to think.
Some of our brothers and sisters have experienced great miracles, but their minds are still the same. So I tell you, what do these miracles testify to? They testify that Jesus Christ came from heaven, that Jesus Christ died, was buried, and resurrected, and that the power of resurrection will accomplish the salvation of eternal life.
That salvation of eternal life is not about entering eternal life after death, but being in eternal life now, living out the likeness of God through Jesus Christ. That is Jesus. Later, the words Jesus spoke were very meaningful. Those who believe in You have seen the miracle, but have no feeling, continue to live, still living in the carnal world, that is seeing and not believing, the sin is already determined. It is not determined after unbelief, but determined before unbelief. Then let him go his own way, let him cherish every day of his life.
People live in darkness, trying hard to live, wanting to live, but dying helplessly. Those who believe are not condemned, and if we are not condemned, evil spirits can no longer control us. We rely on the power of the Holy Spirit, on the power of Jesus Christ's resurrection from the dead, to overcome these dark forces, and then we can walk the path of Jesus, no longer caring about living, the entire logical system changes, no longer so selfish, no longer so concerned about living, no longer controlled by these things.
I can testify to you that because this logical system is within me, I don't care much about living, I don't eagerly rely on doctors to prolong my life. Those who wanted to prolong their lives are already in coffins, in urns. The selfish have become unselfish, those who wanted to live have become those who don't care about living. Originally, our spiritual height was the height in heaven, above all things.
Do you know who can be the head and not the tail, above and not below? I tell you, when the wind of the Holy Spirit blows, the inner logical system changes, and you are above all the peoples of the world, your height reaches the height of God's throne. Those who do not believe are still on the earth, even though they have seen the miracles performed by Jesus Christ, they still live in the worldly logical system.
This includes those who ate the bread that Jesus multiplied, the five loaves and two fish, and the next day, the bread was excreted. If you are constipated, it will probably be excreted after a week. God's wrath remains on them. So brothers and sisters, be careful when you see miracles. Nicodemus only saw Jesus turn water into wine at the wedding in Cana.
I tell you, many of our brothers and sisters have experienced miracles but still do not change. I tell you a very sad logic, that people experience miracles but still do not change their inner logic. If that logic does not change, they will experience God's anger, God's wrath remains on them. This is the background of this passage.
Nicodemus only saw Jesus Christ turn water into wine, what have you experienced? Dizziness healed, lameness healed, right? Then difficulty breathing healed, neck healed, cervical spine healed, lumbar spine healed. Have you changed? If you haven't changed, the illness will return. This thing doesn't go to the root, the root is in your own brain, right? I sigh in my heart, when can people change?
Nicodemus's Confusion
Why did Nicodemus come to find Jesus? Because he had a concept of seeking eternal life within him. I can tell you that those who come seeking Jesus Christ, some seek healing from illness but still live in the worldly, earthly logical system, but many are not like that. Many are because they have seen what Jesus Christ has done, and they have eternal life in Him, and they want to trust in Him.
I ask you, do you live well trusting in Him? Of course you live well, right? You live like Jesus, able to make the dizzy not dizzy, the aching not ache, the diarrhea stop. Would you say you don't live well? How could that be?
What kind of person was Nicodemus? He was a Pharisee. Nicodemus could never perform miracles. His confusion was, "I have read so much of the Bible, and I teach people the Bible all day long, but I can't do anything. What I say is just a set of principles. What use are these principles?" This was Nicodemus's confusion.
If these principles are useless, look at how I live, wearing a hat and a black robe, people think I am a lawyer. I speak eloquently, but I have no confidence in my heart, I live and then die. Look at our Israelite nation, the Jews, becoming slaves of a conquered nation, incurring God's anger. They read the Bible all day long. Look, reading Ezra, Nehemiah, Malachi, Haggai. How could he not know that God's anger remains on these people?
As for Nicodemus, could something untoward happen in his family? Certainly. When people apply worldly logic, they are unable to resolve the messy issues concerning their children, are they? Utterly incapable. I suspect Nicodemus might return home, pour a glass of water, lay hands on it, pray and pray, only to find it remains plain water. Pray and pray, still plain water. Perplexing, isn't it? A mind full of knots. He teaches others to believe, to trust in Moses for eternal life. But where is this eternal life to be found? He himself is uncertain.
Doesn't this Pharisee resemble today's evangelicals? Very much so. The Pharisees are much like today's evangelicals, and vice versa. They speak eloquently, but alas, they fall short. How is it that Jesus is so formidable? Jesus strikes at their very roots, doesn't He?
Thus, Nicodemus speaks of Abraham with great fluency. I daresay he does so more eloquently than I. The stories are told beautifully, pleasing to the ear, but they are not lived out. And the entire history of Israel is a tragic one, never exhibiting the characteristic of being at the top, always at the bottom, isn't it?
Better to be a big fish in a small pond than a small fish in a big pond, but even that small fish status eludes him. He is merely praised by the tail end of the fish, at best a turtle's tail. Nicodemus is perplexed and filled with emotion, longing for God's prophet to appear in the world, and finally, Jesus Christ stands before him, capable of turning water into wine at the wedding in Cana. His conclusion is that unless this man is from God, unless God is with him, he could not perform such deeds. "I want to learn from you how to have God's presence," such is his bewilderment.
Therefore, it is particularly good to seek God with our perplexities. How is it that people live and then die? I often minister to people, watching over them. Some say, "Teacher, haven't they all been healed?" If they are healed, it is their faith that has saved them. If they do not believe, how can they be saved? How can the obstacles in their minds be overcome? They cannot. Moreover, when death comes, it cannot be averted.
The doctrine I preach is not merely about healing, but about eternal life. Of course, does healing fall within the scope of eternal life? Certainly. We all share Nicodemus's perplexities, perhaps even more so. Jesus, seeing his wrinkled, troubled face, says, "Let us not dwell on whether miracles indicate God's presence. Let us speak of rebirth."
Rebirth is the Solution to Man's Perplexities
Rebirth is the solution to man's perplexities. Jesus begins by speaking of rebirth. We used to think Jesus was digressing, but He was not. Nicodemus is filled with this very issue. Why is he ineffective? If you are filled with the same as Jesus, you can do the same as Jesus.
Man has two foundations, two logical systems, two kingdoms. What does rebirth mean? It means changing the root. Even if the top remains unchanged, the root is changed. The foundation is whether one is of the spirit or of the flesh, of this world or of heaven, of this world or of God's kingdom. Rebirth is the solution to man's problems.
What is rebirth? Many think it is a sudden tingling sensation, a feeling of being saved? Pure nonsense. I tell you, rebirth is when the Spirit of God blows upon us, and the logic within us suddenly transforms from disbelief to belief.
Consider, from disbelief to belief, from worldly logic to godly logic, from fleshly to spiritual. Your perspective changes entirely. You used to think yourself capable, but now you suddenly feel inadequate. The logic is simple.
Rebirth is being born of the Holy Spirit. What is the Holy Spirit? Jesus Christ said that His words are spirit and life. We used to hear and not understand, but when the Holy Spirit blows, suddenly the words seem less difficult. Have you experienced this? You can read and understand.
Some, with their worldly logic, give negative feedback when I preach the gospel. Why? Because the foundation of their logic is the world, this life. They cannot understand.
Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” (John 3:5-8)
After rebirth, the foundation of one's logic changes, and the inner being is transformed. One must realize that if the logic within is not spiritual, it is difficult. Because with worldly logic, Jesus's actions seem confusing. Thus, some wise Pharisees understood, while the foolish, with their worldly logic, crucified Jesus, and God's wrath remains on them.
Rebirth solves man's perplexities. See, my explanation flows smoothly, doesn't it? With worldly eyes, everything seems obscure, incomprehensible. I say sickness is a demon. You have your own view of sickness, so we cannot discuss it. You should see a doctor, shouldn't you? Didn't someone die last month? Hospitals are crowded, with different interpretations.
A sister among us had a sister with cancer, and they loved each other dearly. They were inseparable. She wept, and I ministered to her. Later, she returned to minister to her sister. Her sister, in a wheelchair, entered the hospital and saw it was like a marketplace. She said to her sister, "Look at all these people. What are we doing here?" Her sister's interpretation? "I am not the only one who is sick. So many people are sick. I am not an exception."
We are somewhat bewildered, aren't we? Are there others to share the burden? They have their logic, and we have ours. If the wind of the Holy Spirit does not blow, even a typhoon will not help. If everyone stopped aging, getting sick, and dying, how good would that logic be! If we think this way, we cannot discuss it.
So, what do I advise? If your family members stubbornly refuse to believe, let them be. Let them suffer as they must. We cannot help it, can we? If they are not reborn, not born of the Spirit, but of the flesh, there is nothing we can do.
The Lord Jesus Came to Testify that God is Real
Feeding five thousand with five loaves and two fish, feeding four thousand with seven loaves and a few small fish, turning water into wine at Cana, several jars of it, better than Maotai. We truly do not know what to do. I tell you, the blind seeing and the lame walking are not the goal, not the purpose of Jesus's crucifixion. Jesus Christ came to be crucified for us, to testify that God is real, to save us from destruction and give us eternal life.
Jesus came to testify that God is real, and those who receive His testimony are sealed, proving that God is real. Jesus came from heaven, telling us heavenly things in earthly ways, to testify that God is real. I tell you, the spiritual realm is very real. Not only is there God's spiritual realm, but also the realm of demons.
Some believe there are no demons, no God. Then go to the hospital. If there are no demons, no God, wouldn't you go to the hospital? I encourage you to go to the hospital. How could I stop you? The hospital is your savior. It is good to die in the hospital, having spent all your money. The spiritual realm is very real.
But people see these miracles and still do not believe. Is that not a tragedy? Seeing these miracles should testify that God is real. If God is real, what then? Then there is eternal life. I lament that many I minister to have experienced great miracles but still do not believe. It is just the way it is.
That Everyone Who Believes in Him May Have Eternal Life
God performs miracles not to prolong your life. God's healing and deliverance are meant to lead people, after experiencing miracles, to know that God is real. But some, after being healed of leprosy, say, "Finally, I can eat hot dry noodles. Before, no one would accept me because of my leprosy. Now I can go." Then they forget about eternal life. People are like that, experiencing but not believing. Is that not strange?
What should a normal person do? Nicodemus saw Jesus Christ turn water into wine. If He is not from God, how could He do these things? Then God is real. If He is not from God, how could He do these things? This is the way of eternal life. I must believe. This is a master, truly from heaven. I want it too. Simple, isn't it? I can do what Jesus Christ does. All have eternal life.
So, what does it mean to believe? If you believe healing is a medicine, you will receive medicine. If you believe the healing and deliverance Jesus Christ brings is eternal life, you will receive eternal life. If you believe Jesus is bread, you will receive bread.
If you believe Jesus Christ is medicine, He is medicine. But if you believe Jesus Christ is eternal life, you will receive all things. Isn't it so? I tell you, without hope, this world is meaningless. Yet people live with zest, knowing nothing.
Later, I discovered a pattern: those who say there are no demons are possessed by demons. If there are no demons, one will seek. If one is possessed, one will deny it. "Jesus prepared several jars of wine beforehand. He didn't turn water into wine." That is how people explain it. "There is no such thing, no demons."
My mother once said something interesting. She had experienced many miracles. She told my brother-in-law, "There are no demons. They pinch me. I am afraid of them pinching me, so I tell them there are demons." That night, the demons came, and my mother could not breathe. I ministered from a distance, and the demons were driven away. My mother recovered.
My brother-in-law saw that she had denied demons during the day but was attacked by them at night. People are truly detestable, experiencing so much and still refusing to believe. But I believe those words were spoken by demons, not my mother.
Whoever Does Not Believe, the Wrath of God Remains on Him
Those who believe well receive great grace, don't they? Because Jesus Christ's salvation is complete. His redemption includes our bodies. With the hope of eternal life, we all receive eternal life. Those who experience and still do not believe, the wrath of God remains on them. I can tell you, and I urge you again, if your family members have experienced many miracles but are still filled with garbage, they will likely experience God's wrath. If you experience God's wrath, repent quickly and re-establish the concept of eternal life.
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.” (John 3:36)
So, faith is the foundation. I encourage you to remember that if someone does not believe, you cannot force them. Some believe, and some do not. The wind blows, and some suddenly believe. If you ask them why they believe, they cannot explain. The wind blows, and some still do not believe. If you ask them why they do not believe, they cannot explain. That is man's choice.
We hope everyone will trust in Him, that all who believe in Jesus Christ may have eternal life. Eternal life is truly important.
