【Bible Study】Micah Chapter 05 - The Coming and Actions of Israel's Ruler

2025-01-17 976 Micah

The Ruler of Israel Exists from the Earliest Times

Good day, everyone. Let us turn to the fifth chapter of Micah. The fifth chapter of Micah is, in fact, a prophecy about the coming of Jesus Christ. The theme of this chapter is The Coming and Actions of the Ruler of Israel.

Now gather yourself in troops, O daughter of troops; He has laid siege against us; They strike the judge of Israel with a rod on the cheek. But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting. (Micah 5:1-2)

The prophet Micah wrote something quite perplexing. Let's first discuss how the ruler of Israel has existed from the earliest times. If we were to ask Micah directly, Micah, what are you writing about? he likely wouldn't know either.

What do I surmise he saw in the vision? It is that the ruler of Israel comes from Bethlehem, and this ruler from Bethlehem seems to be a person. How does this ruler come about? He comes from Bethlehem, but he didn't just emerge in Bethlehem. Rather, his goings forth are from everlasting and the earliest times.

If we cannot understand this, the reason is simple: we are human. How does this ruler come about? He actually descends from heaven, descending where? To Bethlehem. What will happen when He descends? The daughter of troops will gather in troops because the enemy will lay siege against us.

In other words, the attribute of the ruler of Israel is divine. Why are we speaking so ungroundedly today? Let’s just speak this way, ungroundedly. He is a God, existing from everlasting, from the earliest times, meaning He comes from heaven. Who is this ruler of Israel? He is born of a woman.

The Ruler of Israel Born of a Woman

We must understand how the ruler of Israel comes about. First, He exists from everlasting, from the earliest times, and He is born of a woman.

Therefore He shall give them up, Until the time that she who is in labor has given birth; Then the remnant of His brethren shall return to the children of Israel. (Micah 5:3)

Not until the birth of Jesus did this find a perfect explanation: He exists from the earliest times, He is the firstborn, and He is born of a woman. The idea of being born of a woman is somewhat beyond our imagination. For example, what is the surname of a child born to a woman? It follows the father's surname, not the woman's. These people on earth are all born of men.

The ruler of Israel, however, is born of a woman. This prophesies that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, born of a woman, conceived by the Holy Spirit. His purpose is to redeem us from the hands of the enemy. Therefore He shall give them up—can you understand this? In other words, what is the entire Bible talking about? It is talking about the redemption of mankind.

Where did the Israelites come from? From Jacob. Jacob was living well in the land of Canaan, but he was taken to Egypt. Who took him to Egypt? God took him to Egypt. What did he do in Egypt? He was enslaved for four hundred years. It is difficult for us to imagine this logic, which is to say that man is in this world as a slave in Egypt.

Who delivers God's people to these enemies, letting them be slaves there? Isn't it God? Isn't it God who does it? That actually symbolizes that there will be a Redeemer who will redeem us from the hands of the enemy. He is born of a woman, and the purpose is redemption. From now on, we must know that He is the ruler of Israel, the Redeemer of the Israelites.

The Ruler of Israel Shepherds His Flock by the Power of God

And He shall stand and feed His flock In the strength of the Lord, In the majesty of the name of the Lord His God; And they shall abide, For now He shall be great To the ends of the earth; And this One shall be peace. (Micah 5:4-5)

What did Micah see about the ruler of Israel? He saw himself pastoring his flock, his people, by the power of God. Therefore, a very important work of the church is pastoring, pastoring by the power of God. And I must say that Jesus Christ came into this world and manifested the power of God in the simplest way.

What Jesus Christ did on earth was unprecedented and unsurpassed. The unprecedented part is that no matter which religious founder you pull out, they cannot be compared to Jesus Christ.

What did Jesus do on earth? Those born blind could see, and those born lame could walk; later the lame could also walk, and later the blind could also see. Which is to say that He shall be great to the ends of the earth. Can we imagine that? He does the work of pastoring by the power of God.

So what should the church do? Isn't the church completing the work that Jesus Christ did not complete in this world? Continuing to pastor His flock by the power of God? So the church is the body of Jesus Christ; as Jesus Christ does, so should the body of Jesus Christ do.

The ruler of Israel shepherds his flock by the power of God, so the church should do the work of pastoring. The commission He gave before His ascension was pastoring, so we should take the word pastoring more seriously. That is to say, if you want to walk in God's will, you must be a pastor.

Then you say, What if I don't know how to pastor? Actually, God's requirements are not high. He doesn't say to pastor by your own ability, but by the power of God. For example, if someone is healed after you pray for them, in whose name do you rely? In the name of God, in the name of Jesus Christ, powerful and awe-inspiring, never rely on yourself.

The result of pastoring is that they shall abide. The problem of sickness is solved, the problem of prosperity is solved, the name of Jesus Christ is glorified in our midst, and then the name of God shall be great to the ends of the earth. If you get sick, don't be afraid.

One sister recently came seeking help and is still learning. She found that her legs were weak and came to us. We dare not say too much. We can't talk nonsense about this matter. After going to the hospital for an examination, it was discovered to be a cerebral hemorrhage. I ask you, does cerebral hemorrhage depend on the power of God or on the hospital? It depends on the power of God. Cerebral hemorrhage is nothing great.

The name of Jesus Christ will be glorified and magnified in such people, and you shall abide. Without faith, people cannot learn to rely on the power of God. Unless you learn to rely on the power of God, you can abide. Our brothers and sisters must begin to learn to trust in God, and He will be our peace, and we will abide. He is our healer, He is our salvation, He is our Redeemer, and our church must rely on the power of God.

The Ruler of Israel Will Lead Us in Battle

And this One shall be peace. When the Assyrian comes into our land, And when he treads in our palaces, Then we will raise against him Seven shepherds and eight princely men. These shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, And the land of Nimrod at its entrances; Thus He shall deliver us from the Assyrian, When he comes into our land And when he treads within our borders. (Micah 5:5-6)

What does this passage say? It says that the dark forces of this world will certainly enter our land and trample on God's palaces. What will happen as a result? Shepherds and leaders will rise up in the church and destroy the entrances of the land of Assyria and the land of Nimrod.

The Christian faith is definitely not a Santa Claus faith; the Christian faith is a faith of warfare. It is to fight against the dark forces that rule the dark world on earth, so the church must be built according to the army of God. Micah had already sworn an oath when he spoke this sentence. Micah was a prophet who came out many years after Moses.

When Moses was writing the Book of Exodus, he said, The army of God came out of Egypt. Do you understand? The Bible speaks of warfare, and building a church is building a church of warfare. It is definitely not just pastoring. After pastoring, what then? When the enemy comes, you must fight.

What is cerebral hemorrhage? Cerebral hemorrhage is a dark force, cerebral hemorrhage is the spirit of death. I ask you, can a doctor solve the spirit of death? Of course, if you have no faith, then rely on the doctor. There are also many sequelae of cerebral hemorrhage, such as hemiplegia. If you are a warrior, you can drive out demons, so even cerebral hemorrhage is nothing great, just a small demon.

Everyone must know that Jesus Christ is the Jesus Christ who leads us in battle. Through Him, we can trample the land of Assyria and destroy the land of Assyria with swords. Assyria represents this world. When the Assyrian enters our land and tramples on it, God will surely save us. As long as you are willing to fight, God will surely save you. I have tried this many times.

My mother has had several episodes of crooked mouth and eyes, drooling, and weakness. I don't know if it was a cerebral infarction or a myocardial infarction, a cerebral congestion or a myocardial congestion. I prayed to drive out the demons. One hour before, she was dying, and one hour later, she ate a large plate of rice with me. If the doctor had treated her, wouldn't she have been a hemiplegic or paralyzed?

The ruler of Israel is the ruler who leads us in battle. Brothers and sisters must begin to rise up and fight. Don't just pray there, Lord, please heal me. God defines to release you, but you must also drive out demons, trample demons under your feet, and destroy the works of the devil.

The Ruler of Israel Chooses His Treasures from Among the Nations

The remnant of Jacob will be in the midst of many peoples like dew from the Lord, like showers on the grass, which do not wait for anyone or depend on man. (Micah 5:7)

I find this saying quite profound. God's people are the remnant of Jacob. Those who survive and remain in this battle are called the remnant. It means after the battle is fought and won, there are still some people left. Some lack faith, and they are not left; not being left means not being victorious. Not trusting God is truly a tragedy.

God chooses His treasures from among the nations. This is called the remnant of His people. The remnant is like dew from the Lord, like showers on the grass—all treasures. Brothers and sisters, know that only those who win the battle can receive the promise.

He will surely save us. God has long destined us to be victorious, as long as we dare to fight, we can be victorious. If we are afraid, then it's bad. What to do then? People worry and fear, but they do not want to rise up and fight. Therefore, the church we are building, Chinese Mingding Destiny, is a warring theology, a theology of trampling on the devil and the enemy. The Ruler of Israel seeks treasures among the nations, seeking those who have faith.

So we must begin to cultivate a habit. What is having faith? Even in the face of battle, one does not shrink back in fear or hide. We must adjust our inner faith. Thank God, I am a person of faith, so many miracles and wonders happen among us.

The Ruler of Israel Makes His People Like Lions

The remnant of Jacob will be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, like a lion among the beasts of the forest, like a young lion among flocks of sheep, which mauls and mangles as it goes, and no one can rescue. Your hand will be lifted up in triumph over your enemies, and all your foes will be destroyed. (Micah 5:8-9)

What is a lion? The king of beasts. This Lion of Judah is a king. We who are the rulers of Israel must be God's treasures, and in the end, what will happen? You will be like a lion, above and not beneath, the head and not the tail among the nations. Everyone must know that God's people are above and not beneath, the head and not the tail among the nations—definitely not weak and limp. How can a weak, limp person be a lion? So you must dare to fight.

The things of this world are all spiritual matters. Being deceived is a spiritual matter, being unlucky is a spiritual matter, being sick is a spiritual matter—all things are spiritual matters. But you must begin to trust God, you must rise up and fight, become a treasure in God's eyes, and as a result, God will make you like a lion, with the destiny to be a king.

What we brothers and sisters lack is this faith. Can we play our hand well? Our life was originally the life of Jesus Christ, our life was originally the life of a prince, our life was originally destined to be above and not beneath, the head and not the tail. But because we lack faith and do not want to fight against the weaknesses in ourselves, we are not treasures in God's eyes.

God has destined us to be lions, lions among the beasts. Everything should be under us, with all things under our feet. This is the Ruler of Israel, this is our Jesus Christ, the Lord causes our enemies to be destroyed.

The Ruler of Israel Will Demolish What is of the World and What is Religious

In that day, declares the Lord, I will destroy your horses from among you and demolish your chariots. I will destroy the cities of your land and tear down all your strongholds. I will destroy your witchcraft and you will no longer cast spells. I will destroy your idols and your sacred stones from among you; you will no longer bow down to what your hands have made. I will uproot your sacred Asherah poles from among you and demolish your cities. I will take vengeance in anger and wrath on the nations that have not obeyed me. (Micah 5:10-15)

Do you think our God is Santa Claus? No, our God will take vengeance in anger and wrath on the nations that have not obeyed. What will happen when the Lord Jesus Christ comes again? This world will be repaid when the Lord Jesus Christ comes again. The Lord Jesus has prepared seven bowls of disasters to pour out on this earth.

Those on earth who rely on horses, He will remove the horses; those who rely on chariots, He will remove the chariots; those who rely on city walls, He will demolish the city walls. I once said a sentence: A Christian who leans on a wall will find the wall falling, a Christian who leans on a tree will find the tree leaning. A Christian can only rely on God.

But the problem arises: As Christians, when we get sick, we rely on hospitals; when we have problems, we rely on talent—we are ability-based. As a result, what happens? God will pour out His anger and wrath on those who do not obey. That's just how it is, and people still feel like, what more do you want from me? I want you to learn to trust God.

If you trust in city walls, God will demolish the city walls; if you trust in horses, you will find the horses being removed; if you trust in chariots, the chariots will be destroyed. If you trust in geomancy and witchcraft, trust in these carved idols, God will make them ineffective.

Our God is the Ruler of Israel, our Redeemer, mighty and awesome. We must learn to fear Him and walk according to His words, and you will never suffer a loss.

When sick, should we trust in doctors or should we trust in God? I think this world is so interesting. Sometimes I am really helpless. A person was blind. After I prayed, his eyesight returned to normal. After a while, he told me: Oh, next month I will go to the hospital to check and see if it is really healed. What kind of brain is this? A perfectly good eye that sees things clearly, and then he has to go to the hospital for a checkup and let the doctor tell him that he can see clearly. What kind of brain is this? I am really speechless.

Later, there was another lame person. Why? He had a fracture, and the doctor arranged an operation for him. Later, he cancelled the operation because he was healed after I prayed, and there was no swelling, and he could walk. Nothing happened, and he could even ride a bicycle. The doctor said: No, come over for a checkup quickly. An X-ray showed that the bone was still broken, but there was no swelling or pain. Do you think it's miraculous? Very miraculous. Thank God, he told the doctor: I don't want surgery. After another week, an X-ray showed that it was completely healed.

The hardest thing for people is to rely on God, and the simplest thing is to rely on God. It is the simplest, but it cannot be done. Relying on God is particularly difficult to do. Have you discovered that? Having faith in God is a very challenging thing. Why? Because your eyes are fleshly eyes. What you see is according to human logic.

We must know that the Ruler of Israel is to demolish what is of this world and what is religious. When people are helpless, they know how to rely on God, because relying on anything else doesn't work, so they learn to rely on God.

When you are able to handle problems, you start to rely on yourself again, right? When you can handle problems, you start to rely on yourself, rely on relationships, rely on connections, rely on money, rely on horses, rely on chariots, and start to rely on divination and rely on idols. Isn't this very evil? You just go and trust in them. God will surely demolish these. No matter what you rely on, God will demolish them.

This describes the coming and actions of the Ruler of Israel. Jesus indeed did this. Jesus came into this world and manifested the power of God to the world like never before. He could raise the dead to life, make the blind see, and make the lame walk, which is beyond human imagination.

You cannot explain it from physics, chemistry, medicine, or biology. How can the power of God be explained by physics? We must recognize the coming and actions of the Ruler of Israel, know that God's actions are like this, then we will do as He does.

When we encounter such things, we will do as the Ruler of Israel does, and you will surely see God's salvation. Amen. We will share to here this time. Thank you everyone, brothers and sisters, goodbye.
